Resumen
Anti-Americanism is a growing tendency among people in Turkey, and the media is one source of this negative sentiment. After the failed military coup attempt in Turkey on 15 July 2016, more than 150 domestic media outlets were shut down, including television channels, daily newspapers, radio stations, news websites, and even social media. Local affiliates of international media companies such as Deutsche Welle Turkish, however, have remained immune to such government interventions to some extent. Considering the difference in the level of independence from Turkish government influence, this study aims to explore how the anti-American sentiment in the news varied across different media outlets. With the content of 690 online news reports, a sentiment analysis compared the pro-government Sabah and Yeni Şafak daily newspapers with two internationally owned and more independent media outlets, BBC News Turkish and Deutsche Welle. The results showed a significant discrepancy between the two groups in terms of how they framed news related to the United States. The domestic media framed and reported the US-related news with a more negative slant, including the use of offensive and pejorative narratives about the United States and its politics. BBC Turkish and Deutsche Welle, however, reported news about the United States with a relatively more neutral and objective language.

The following description of Hausa is based on the variety of the language spoken in Kano, Nigeria. The sample text is transcribed from a recording of a male native of Kano in his late 30's. This variety of Hausa is considered “standard”. Though Kano is a large urban center with some internal variation in speech, the sound inventory is relatively homogeneous within the city and surrounding area. Kano Hausa is the variety most commonly heard on national and regional radio and television broadcasts in Nigeria as well as most international broadcasting, such as the BBC, Deutsche Welle, Radio Moscow, and Voice of America. Kano Hausa is therefore familiar throughout the Hausa speaking areas of Nigeria as well as Hausa speaking communities in Niger, Ghana, and other areas outside northern Nigeria. Hausa has a standard orthography, in use since the 1930's and also based on the Kano variety. It is familiar to all Hausa speakers literate in the Romanized orthography. (Many Hausas are also literate in Arabic orthography, a variety of which has been used to write Hausa, probably for several centuries. The Arabic orthography for Hausa is less standardized than the Roman orthography and has little formally published literature.)

Resumen
In the late 1970s a new music movement, rooted in British punk and New Wave music, emerged in West Germany. It distinctly was not only sung in German, but the lyrics played with the German language by adding Dadaistic elements or youth slang, and reflected on the political, cultural and social zeitgeist of late Cold War West Germany. Over the years this formerly underground music genre was labelled ‘Neue Deutsche Welle’ (NDW) and became a commercial success, both domestically and abroad: Artists like Peter Schilling became known in the United States, the biggest hit ‘99 Luftballons’ by the band Nena reached number 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983 in its original German version. Like many other New Wave music, NDW songs found their way to mainstream success in the United States through the club scene, radio shows and the then new music television. At the same time, coming from the then still divided Germany catapulted the bands right in the middle of the Anti-war and Anti-nuclear movements at the end of the cold war, even when NDW bands themselves oftentimes labelled their music as non-political.

Resumen

The economic crisis of the European Union has rendered the European public sphere as a forever emerging concept marked by uncertainties regarding its structure. In this context, eyes of both European officials and citizens turn towards the media, the main communication link between the EU and its citizens. The present paper looks at a media product that is designed to permeate multiple national public spheres, the weekly news show European Journal, a half-hour TV program produced by Deutsche Welle and rebroadcast by partner TV channels throughout Europe. Considering the main characteristics of the European public sphere as identified in the literature, with a focus on horizontal Europeanization, and using the method of content analysis, this paper looks at the means employed by the European Journal to support the integration process and to add a European dimension to national public sphere. Findings suggest that the type of public sphere promoted by the European Journal is not centered around the EU as a distinct entity, but around the member states, approach which supports the idea of a horizontal Europeanization.

Resumen
The article is devoted to the analysis of the thematic structure of Internet media texts about vaccination, which is due to the growing interest of linguists in the peculiarities of verbalization of such important topics for society that can influence public opinion and form a certain social position. The information flow, the channels of transmission (the press, radio, television and the World Wide Web) is becoming more and more important for society every day: it is able to control the thoughts of an individual or a nation as a whole, to create and break stereotypes, to control any event and to shape the outlook of the individual. The filling of these information resources is usually defined by the concept of „content“, which is distinguished by semantic load and is characterized by constant updating, as well as the efficiency of information. Usually, the term „content“ is used in the field of Internet resources and its characteristics include text and video materials or audio recordings. On the example of German articles posted on the website „Deutsche Welle“, electronic editions of newspapers and magazines („Der Spiegel“, „Zeit Online“, „Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung“, “Tagesschau”), as well as on other websites containing information about vaccination, texts are analyzed by the parameter of thematic sructure and functional characteristics. The study found that the texts of the Internet media about vaccination are characterized by a descriptive form of disclosure of the topic and argumentation, which are used depending on the source of the publication and the purpose or communicative intention of the author of the post or article.

Resumen
Aim. The purpose of this article is to assess the impact on the identity of the "Russian Germans" of this community positioning in the German media.Methodology. The work’s methodology is based on a combination of classical content analysis with elements of comparative and structural analysis. The empirical base of the study was a pool of 232 publications from 6 national media of Germany (Deutsche Welle, Spiegel, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau, Handelsblat and Bild) for 2021, formed in random sample order.Results. The author comes to the conclusion that there is a trend towards the stigmatization of "Russian Germans” in the German mass media. The latter are labeled as bearers of values and behaviors labeled as alien to the majority of the population. They are simultaneously trying to position this diaspora as a "fifth column" acting in the interests of Russia within the framework of the European Union and the Russian Federation. At the same time, the distance between the “Russian Germans” and the bulk of the German population is estimated to be smaller than in the case of the Albanian, Turkish, Afghan and Syrian diasporas. "Russians" are less frequently present in media materials as a source of an everyday threat (in the role of criminals or terrorists). Also, they are distinguished from the "Asian" and Albanian diasporas by the presence of a greater similarity with the native population in terms of appearance and behavior patterns. The distance is also shortened by the similarity of "Russian Germans" with the traditional "internal dissidents" – immigrants from the GDR who failed to fully integrate into the new society. Due to this, the German media contribute to the preservation of the separate identity of the "Russian Germans". But the image of the phantom threat from the "Russian Germans" formed by the mass media is not as bright as in the case of other "dangerous diasporas". This prevents the allocation of Germans who came from the former Soviet republics into an independent category in the form of "important others".Research implications. The results obtained became the basis for the development of practical recommendations for the Russian authorities on building communication with the "Russian Germans” community in Germany. It was emphasized that a dialogue with it should be built within the framework of the implementation of a comprehensive program covering both migrants from the post-Soviet space and people from the former GDR. The stigmatization of “Russian Germans” and immigrants from East Germany in the German media should be widely reported in the Russian-language mass media of Germany and niche communities in social networks. This will help consolidate these groups and turn them into a social base for opposition to anti-Russian forces in the German elites. The negative image of the "Russian Germans" as the "fifth column of Moscow" can be destroyed by a large-scale promotion of depoliticized elements of "soft power", and move all, by products of popular culture.

In order to subdue french speaking africans, the voice of germany uses the following strategies : the public relations service sends gratis the home quaterly bulletin, news from germany, to the listeners. They receive also calendars, postcards and information. This radio organises a yearly game with a lot of gifts for the winners. A biennial litterature price stimulates the new writers in africa. The voice of germany has a training center for the education and improving for the young journalists. This radio employs african journalists for its broadcastings. Female journalists of the radio and listeners exchange letters very often. In the broadcastings the outlooks of african governments and those of african people are both considered. .

The end of the Cold war generates a challenge to international broadcasters, since the purpose of “substitution” is no longer legitimate. This world upheaval allows also an acceleration of european integration. The international broadcasters BBC World Service (BBCWS), Deutsche Welle Radio (DWR) and Radio France Internationale (RFI) need and at the same time have no other option than to deal with the European issue, now made politically feasible by the “turning point”. These three stations driven by an international scope and representing mainstays of the European Union should in fact be a primary vehicle for the European public opinion. As a matter of fact, the three stations indeed deal with the European issue but differences emerge from one station to another. First, radio broadcasts dedicated to Europe are often linked to grants offered by the European Union for the european issue to be more prevalent in the media and for the citizens to become familiar with it. Then, RFI and DWR create and sometimes perpetuate joint radio broadcasts as well as produce some other broadcasts for their very own stations often with the help of the European grants. The BBCWS on the other hand avoids partnerships and grants and the only broadcast devoted to Europe lasts throughtout the era analyzed here (2004-2009). At last, the DWR shows an evident enthusiasm for the topic of “Europe” dedicating numerous and varied but often short-lived broadcasts. Also, these three stations do not necessarily seem to be primary vehicles for the European public opinion
