Texto completoThe aim of this Phd thesis is the geobotanical study of an area in the Montagna dei Fiori massif, between Marche and Abruzzo regions. Floristic, vegetation and landscape studies were made. As result of theese the habitat identification (Direttiva 92/43/CEE) and several maps were also realized. The detailed knowledge of the study area and the plant species identification, which is important for the phytogeography and for their conservation, were possible through a preliminary floristic analisys. Geobotanical studies will be useful for the conservation management of the area as well. In fact it belongs to two SACs and two SPAs (Natura 2000 network areas) and it is also inside the Gran Sasso –Laga mountains National Park. Vegetation cartography was useful for the identification of the vegetation units and for the landscape analisys. Habitat (Directive 92/43/EEC) map was also realized because it is a valid tool for the evaluation and for the management of the SACs and SPAs (Rete Natura 2000 areas). In conclusion, the present research work is a contribution to botanical-territorial knowledge of the area, useful for defining the management rules of the environment, with a view to maintaining and preserving targeted natural recovery of ecosystems according to the respect of socio-economic conditions of local residents.

Texto completoIn retail environments, understanding how shoppers move in the store’s spaces and interact with products is very valuable. While the retail environment has several favourable characteristics that support computer vision, such as reasonable lighting, the large number and diversity of products sold, as well as the potential ambiguity of shoppers’ movements, mean that accurately measuring shopper behaviour is still challenging. Over the past years, machine-learning and feature-based tools for people counting as well as interactions analytics and re-identification were developed with the aim of learning shopper behaviors based on occlusion-free RGB-D cameras in a top-view configuration. However, after moving into the era of multimedia big data, machine-learning approaches evolved into deep learning approaches, which are a more powerful and efficient way of dealing with the complexities of human behaviour. Starting from such a premise, this thesis addresses the evolution process of 3 real systems such as: People Counting, Shopper Analytics and Re-Identification. The main goal is to develop Deep Learning architectures especially designed for Retail Environment. For this purpose, a novel VRAI deep learning framework is described. In particular, it uses 3 Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to count the number of people passing or stopping in the camera area, perform top-view re-identification and measure shopper-shelf interactions from a single RGB-D video flow with near real-time performances. The VRAI framework is evaluated on the following 3 new datasets that are publicly available: TVHeads for people counting, HaDa for shopper-shelf interactions and TVPR2 for people re-identification.

Texto completoThis research work seeks to know the feasibility of implementing an innovative business model focused on offering personalized dolls that reproduce sound and video to dedication through QR code scanning to people who want to give a gift different from the traditional one in Peru. This project was created under the name Dettagli and was implemented as an alternative in the gift market, since there are gifts that are traditional, common without new options for consumers. Dettagli considered offering a means of closeness between the one who gives the message and the one who receives it and to generate sentimental ties between them. To do this, a number of experiments were carried out that allowed the project to be validated, in addition to obtaining relevant information from the market. Likewise, to develop and maintain sales growth that allows the business to last over time, a strategic plan was made with a deep analysis of factors that can help meet this objective. Also, the necessary actions and strategies were established that made the stability and improvement of the business a reality. In addition, for the creation of the Dettagli project, it was considered to identify opinions of users who want to give someone an innovative detail and parents who want to give this same type of gifts to their young children, since they are part of the target audience. Based on all that has been done, it was found that the business model implemented by the project is profitable, viable and scalable.

Texto completoNever a title has been so literal. In her work La vita dei dettagli, Antonella Anedda fulfills all the words of her title. Isolating details of works of art, the author gives them life in ecfrastic records that join other works and artists, in a vast world of references that constitutes her Internal Museum, Imaginary Museum, according to others. In this world and museum, we find poets who dialogue with paintings and graphic artists who support their work on words and Literature. But not only that, Critique and theorists mark also presence here, making this work a hybrid text halfway between the essay, the poetic prose and the recording of travel and memories. But not all books of mixed and transversal genre have the particularity of Anedda's book The life of the details: its unique contribution to the Comparative and Interart Studies and the affirmation of the modernity and singularity of this italian poet.

Texto completoThe catalytic chemistry of gold has had a relatively belated development with respect to other late transition metals, and this has been attributed to the preconception that gold is expensive and unreactive. The interest in gold has grown over the last thirty years, because both of these conceptions have been proven false, and successful applications of gold catalysis have emerged in chemical processing, pollution control, fuel cells design, and many others fields. These evidences have sparked a veritable “gold rush” in the field of catalysis, both homogeneous and heterogeneous. We investigated the role of gold in both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic processes. In fact, the theoretical study of mechanistic details for reactions, that involves and underline the characteristics of gold, have been the subjects of this thesis. Density functional theory (DFT) is the method of choice in this kind of studies. Regarding heterogeneous catalysis the synthesis of vinylacetate is the reaction on which we have focused our attention. In particular, a bimetallic catalyst containing low Pd coverage on Au surface (100 and 111) has been selected to outline the reaction mechanism of VAM formation. We have studied in detail both mechanisms proposed in literature, in order to selected the more active surface and the more likely mechanism. The homogeneous catalytic process that has been selected to point out the catalytic activity of gold is the hydration of 1,2-diphenylacetylene to yield benzyl phenyl ketone, catalyzed by a complex of Au(I) with triphenylposphine. This cationic complex coordinates to the alkyne in the first step of the catalytic cycle, thus rendering it more susceptible for a nucleophilic attack. That reaction is a relatively new synthetic strategy that have recently studied experimentally. Our aim is to elucidate the mechanism of the whole reaction.
