Resumen
Cultural competence is an integral quality of personality, which is manifested in the general ability and willingness of man to various creative activities, socially orients higher education to independent and successful life. The aim of the article is to analyze the formation of cultural competence of higher education seekers as a dynamic process of change of the person himself, his formation as a cultural personality. Research methods applied: system-chronological, culturological, axiological, comparative, retrospective, didactic. The approaches are based on a set of methodological principles, including: dialectical, systematic, historicism, chronological, personalized. The article reveals the problem that until recently the pedagogical research did not define the exact parameters, indicators and criteria according to which it would be possible to accurately and unambiguously assess the cultural competence of applicants. This is partly due to the fact that the key competencies that characterize the cultural competence of applicants are not a separate part of the curriculum, they are integrated into its content. The difficulty of such a definition is also due to the value nature of culture and the process of its assignment by the individual. The translation of culture into the language of competencies in the educational process does not eliminate this problem. In contrast to structured subject learning, the cultural development of the individual is supra-subject in nature and is associated with the definition of values and personal positions of applicants. It is concluded that in pedagogical science there is a theoretical basis that allows meaningful and organizational development of the assessment of the process of cultural development of higher education institutions. The study proves that in the practice of higher education it is not yet possible to avoid one-sidedness and limitations in the assessment of cultural competence; certain difficulties arise in the question of its holistic representation as a result of quality education. The problem of assessing cultural competence requires a purposeful study, taking into account the specifics of the educational process of higher education institutions of different profiles, the individual characteristics of the assignment of culture to applicants and their mastery of key competencies.

Resumen
Numerous factors can affect the results of the negotiating process. Successful negotiation not only requires acquiring technical communicative abilities, but also an understanding of the cultural context of the negotiation by both parties. Due to its size and rapid economic development, China has become an increasingly important factor for world economy and growth. Until recently, conducting business in China has been a challenging and sometimes futile venture for businesses trying to break into this lucrative market because China’s government has maintained very strict rules for the import of goods and services for resale to China, while widely exporting Chinese goods and services. The approach uses Casse and Deols’ model and cultural factors including education, religion and degrees of individualism/collectivism to be the dependent and independent variables. Data were collected from public companies listed on the stock exchanges of China by means of an online survey method. Structural equation modeling was used to test hypothesized models and hypotheses of research. The findings show that education, religion and degrees of individualism/collectivism affects the style of negotiation. These findings could be useful in the application of a specific set of values and attitudes that relate to regional cultural attributes, and develop better negotiation skills by providing insights into the nuances of international negotiations. The researcher suggests that the negotiators still need to be trained in body language, strategies, temper control, international manners, and customs. A better knowledge of negotiation should be helpful in understanding business and in realizing which negotiation styles are most appropriate for a particular country.

Resumen
The term genocide immediately reminds one of mass murders and concentration camps, the horrendous war crimes, grounds for the strictest legal sanctions of state and international law. However, genocide isn't just that - this term implies a much broader range of crimes, historical and temporary likewise. One of the less known terms linked to genocide is cultural genocide. Although seemingly more benign that Hitler's regime, cultural genocide is an immense danger to global civilisation. With this work we shall draw attention to the serious nature of the phenomenon of cultural genocide, the consequences it can have on the society, the diversity of the situations in which it can develop, as well as some of the factors which make it an extremely strong risk to the global society.

Resumen
Although the cultural impact of tourism shopping has been extensively studied, prior research rarely related tourism shopping to specific cultural dimensions and distance, and tested the relationships statistically. This article fills this gap by investigating the comprehensive effects of Hofstede’s four cultural dimensions (power distance, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance) and cultural distance on shopping. In an analysis of Hong Kong’s inbound tourism, panel regression tests support power distance and masculinity as two key cultural values in determining a country’s tourist shopping spending in a destination, while the effects of individualism and uncertainty avoidance are marginally significant. A U-shaped curvilinear relationship is found for cultural distance and shopping spending ratio, suggesting that tourists’ allocation of monetary resource on shopping decreases with cultural distance first and increases later after an optimal point. A discussion of contributions and limitations is included.

Resumen
The cultural meme is the smallest unit constituting a dynasty′s culture, which has the same inheritance and variability as biological genes. Here, based on the name of cultural relics, we extract cultural memes through semantic word segmentation, word frequency statistics, and the synonym merging method, and construct dynasty cultural meme vectors. We analyzed color, auxiliary, texture, shape, and overall networks of five types of model to construct the culture network, using the social network analysis method, and explored the clustering and degrees of centrality characteristics of cultural memes. We then analyzed the similarities and differences among cultures of the dynasties. The main conclusions are as follows: (1) Cultural memes represent different cultural characteristics of dynasties, and the inheritance and differences among dynasties’ cultures are closely related to their historical background. (2) Prevalence memes construct the cultural label of dynasties, which can roughly restore the cultural appearance of dynasties through fewer prevalence memes. (3) The use of community detection with a cultural meme network can determine the clustering of dynasties′ cultures, and the degree of centrality further reflects the main cultural characteristics presented by successive dynasties.

Resumen
The concept of "cultural creativity" has set off a wave of enthusiasm around the world recently. Taiwan has many cultural characteristics that are different from European and American cultural design. There is an opportunity for Taiwan to combine cultural inspiration and creative development and transformation through creative industries. Temples are close to the daily life of many people with local characteristics in Taiwan as places where the Taiwanese retain a rich cultural atmosphere. The development of the cultural and creative concepts of such cultural elements influences the marketing design, development, and production of various god themes, and the development of the industrialization of religious beliefs. However, the localized design must not be a copy or imitation of traditional patterns allowing the culture to be translated and interpreted with traditional vocabulary and novel language, nor be superficial. Thus, this research is conducted for glazed products in the cultural and creative industries combined with Taiwan's unique cultural elements to discuss the characteristics brought by Taiwan's temple culture and apply them to the glass design of cultural marketing.

Resumen
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the organisational cultures of two different parts of the emergency service, the police and the ambulance service. Design/methodology/approach – Semi-structured interviews with 45 police officers and ambulance staff sought to understand more about the relationships between these two distinctly different professions who work together closely and regularly in often very difficult situations. Findings – Interviews with police officers and ambulance staff revealed the strong and harmonious working relationship between the two professions and an existence of both shared organisational characteristics and shared cultural characteristics. These cultural characteristics, identified as both explicit and tacit in nature provide the “glue” which not only binds each organisation together but which appears to cement a longer term, tangible link between the police and ambulance services. Originality/value – This paper reveals a new dimension within cultural analyses of occupational groups by considering the shared cultural characteristics of two groups within the emergency services, police officers and ambulance staff. This potential for cultural boundary crossing is explored in detail.

Resumen
Cultural diplomacy is a recent diplomatic practice. Although elements of cultural-diplomatic actions have been evident ever since the early beginnings of diplomacy, it is safe to assume that cultural diplomacy saw its full development during the Cold War. Through cultural contents and forms, diplomacy promotes the system of values, ideas, representations and perceptions of a particular country. Cultural diplomacy is in direct and dynamic relation with both the internal and foreign political processes and contexts. When political, diplomatic, economic and military instruments and tools fail to produce the desired results, cultural diplomacy can unobtrusively create a favorable perception, affection and friendliness to its state and its policies. In this context, and from the aspect of international relations, the efforts of the former SFRY to implement cultural-diplomatic actions in its foreign policy are quite interesting. The first more complex international cultural-diplomatic representation of the SFRY occurred in years of unfavorable economic and social performance on the internal political scene and tense political relations with the countries of the Eastern Bloc on the foreign political scene. The profiling of the SFRY as a country different than those of the so-called "communist camp" and the creation of a favorable perception among the Western states and peoples shifted to the terrain of culture, and quite successfully so. Although the then Yugoslav authorities and official political intellectuals treated these activities as international cultural cooperation, from today's point of view, those were actually cultural-diplomatic actions that were strategically well devised and created, and also realized in the best possible way - in the spirit of the best practices of cultural diplomacy. The more fruitful cultural-diplomatic activities of the former SFRY, the better the possibilities for successful international political and economic positioning of the country. And vice versa, the new international positioning of the then Yugoslavia, changed the directions, methods and contents of its cultural diplomacy. The creation of the perception of a leader country in the Non-Aligned Movement was directly related to the cultural-diplomatic actions towards the countries of the so-called Third World. Statistical parameter analysis of the scholarships, students exchange and educational programs with countries from Africa, the Middle East and Asia indicates that the SFRY practiced extremely serious, thorough and modern cultural diplomacy, which for several decades had been effectuating excellent results in the international positioning of the country, simultaneously improving the domestic socio-economic and cultural performances.

Resumen
A large number of newly registered and researched sites help to distinguish regional characteristics in the Brnjica cultural group development. On the basis of special features in the material culture, pottery in the first place, several regional entities were identified: (1) Kosovo with the Raska Region and Pester, (2) The Juzna and Zapadna Morava confluence zone is characterized by interweaving of the Brnjica and Paracin cultural groups and afterwards, by a mixture of Brnjica cultural group elements with the Iron Age I a - b cultural groups from the Velika Morava basin, (3) The Leskovac-Nis region is characterized by symbiosis, after the initial phase, and later on by integration of the Brnjica cultural group with the ethno-cultural complex Iron Age I b in the Morava basin, and (4) the Juzna Morava Region, upstream from Grdelica Gorge, the Pcinja and the Upper Vardar Regions, is characterized by specific Brnjica cultural group archaeological material. The sites with Brnjica type pottery finds in Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv as well as on a number of sites in Pelagonia, Lower Vardar basin, on the island of Thasos and Thessaly, show the extent of influence of the Brnjica cultural group within the period between the 13th and 12th centuries BC and portend the role of the Brnjica population in the events designated as the Aegean Migration.

Resumen
The paper deals with reputation and face treated as emotional and rational evaluation and self-evaluation of a person correlating with their respect and self-respect. The most important features of respect/disrespect reflect its deontic character and focus on the correlation of respect/disrespect and affection/disaffection. The emotional component of this attitude is its basis, whereas the rational component is its addition. The feeling of self-respect is actualized if it may be threatened. The descriptions of reputation usually contain expressed or inferred motivation for such attitude. Reputation may be a masque meant to hide real motives of behavior. The correlation between respect/disrespect and reputation may be presented as an opposition of process Vs result and content Vs form when we describe the attitude to a person, or group, or organization. Reputation is connected with external signs – someone’s good or bad name. A speech act description of reputation and face includes the contradistinction of sincere and formal behavior in a situation of a threat to respect and selfrespect of a person. Conceptualization of face is predominantly determined by the norms of certain communities in a certain epoch.

Самооценка больше определяется, как положительная, а оценка из вне неоднозначна и продиктована отношением к классовому антагонизму. Изменения, которые имели место быть в течение нескольких столетий в общественном, экономическом, политическом и культурном аспектах послужили причиной трансформаций в понимании того, кем является истинный джентльмен. in this article sociocultural characteristics of the linguistic-cultural type «gentleman» and its main peculiarities are studies from a position of linguaculturology and linguopersonology. Resumen
Tobacco is one of the major important commercial crops grown throughout the country. Brown spot caused by Alternaria alternata is one of the major destructive disease causes heavy losses under field condition. Studies on cultural and physiological features of the pathogen are of immense use in understanding the nature of the pathogen. The radial growth of A. alternata was maximum on potato dextrose agar with colony diameter of 89.00 mm followed by Czapek’s dox agar (87.00 mm) colour of the mycelium varied from whitish to dark grey. Physiological studies revealed that growth of the pathogen was maximum at temperature of 25°C (329.13 mg) and lowest at 5°C (67.16 mg), while the maximum dry weight was observed at pH 6.5 (586.53 mg).

Resumen
The paper reveals peculiarities of transition periods in cultural dynamics. These processes are analysed by using the example of the continuum of European (as of the 19th c. – Euro-Atlantic) culture. The end of transition periods which are defined by the concept of “socio-cultural transformation” marks the beginning of progressive evolution of culture – the stage determined by the notion of “culture system”. The study singles out four stages of socio-cultural transformations in the continuum of European culture (late Hellenism, the Renaissance, the avant-garde, and postmodernity) as well as four culture systems (ancient, mediaeval, neo-European, and modern). The paper concludes that characterising socio-cultural transformations makes it possible to determine a concrete set of their features. These features are defined by the concept of “culturally dominant characteristics”. Various stages of socio-cultural transformations generally display the same set of such characteristics, the latter manifesting themselves with varying degrees of intensity, whereas the set of culturally dominant characteristics reflecting the essence of culture systems is different. The research resulted in singling out the following culturally dominant characteristics of socio-cultural transformations: relativism, pluralism, eclecticism, skepticism, gamification, as well as a break with the preceding cultural tradition. The research raises the problem of extending the application of the aforementioned regularities to the cultural dynamics of other civilisations.

Resumen
Objectives: Cross-cultural communication lays the foundation for sustainable development education. In order to further improve the level of cross-cultural awareness of college students in China, a recommendation algorithm based on cross-cultural communication comparison model is proposed. Methods: The algorithm uses the keywords with high weight in the recommended items as the attribute characteristics of the recommendation items, and then recommends the items with the closest vectors (the highest score of the vector calculation with user characteristics) to the users. Results: TF-IDF method is used to calculate and calculate the keywords with high weight in intercultural communication mode as describing user characteristics, and these keywords are used as describing vector of user characteristics, so as to construct the intercultural awareness model of College students. Finally, APRIORI ALL algorithm is used to train and test the model. Conclusion: The test results show that the error is less than 5%. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is effective. The intercultural awareness model can improve the intercultural communicative competence of college students and provide a reference for English intercultural teaching in basic education stage.
