Blair, Louisa. "La création littéraire comme vocation chrétienne : un projet de recherche-création". Doctoral thesis, Université Laval, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11794/27675.
Texto completoThis study in practical theology is an exploration of literary creation as a Christian vocation. If we are called to follow Christ, how should we respond to the imperious call to literary creation? Is the call to Christ and the call to create a single vocation, or do these “calls” come from different sources? Does the call to write also come from God, and is God the source of literary inspiration? I undertook this project because in my experience the two calls often compete, and I wanted to find a way to discern between them, if not reconcile them. I therefore observed my own literary practice to determine the dissonances, resonances and overlaps between my practice as a writer and my Christian vocation with the goal of creating, if possible, a practical theology of literary vocation. To do so I developed the « Jazz Method », a heuristic methodology for observing my practice from a distance. Over the four years of my doctoral studies, I had written numerous works of various kinds, including a play, some short stories, and a book. While I was writing these, I kept a journal. Having assembled some of the works into a representative collection, and inspired by Gérard Genette’s work on the function of paratexts, I observed my practice again, this time retroactively, by footnoting the collection, in another language. Then, based on a synthesis of all my observations, I undertook a theological reflection on my practice using the ideas of theologian Christoph Theobald on the elements of a Christian vocation. Firstly, I discovered that my dispositions as a Christian affect my writing practice. For example, the calls to write come from both inside and out, and deciding if and how to respond to these calls requires discernment for which I turn to my Christian values. Second, Theobald stresses the crucial role played by misunderstandings, passeurs (or mediators), and exile in the vocational call (for example in the story of Samuel’s call, mediated by Eli). As I show, these elements are also important in the practice of literary creation. Third, the call to write, like the call to Christ, is a call to understand and deepen our own singularity, but like a religious vocation, can easily turn into a service of oneself rather than of others. In addition, the novelty sought in literary creation is not necessarily of the same nature as that of the “Good News”. Finally, however, I observed that there is a literary truth found in a well-written piece that resonates with the ineffable truths of faith. These resonances and dissonances helped me to create a practical theology of literary creation, whereby the key to discernment in daily practice is our own truth, or the concordance with ourselves that is found in the “holy hospitality” of Christ’s presence. Through the wellknown contagion of authenticity, literary spaces can be as hospitable as physical or social spaces. If we are authentic, as Jesus was, we can withdraw from the crowd to respond to calls to creation without self-reproach and immune to the reproaches (real or imagined) of our community of faith, and through the contagion of our authenticity, give permission to others to find their own authenticity and their own vocation.

Texto completoThis thesis deals with the possibility of designing a phenomenological analysis of the pictorial creation process. It contains two major parts. The first is theoretical, mainly focusing on how phenomenology tries to understand art and demonstrates that several difficulties have not been overcome. It leans on the confrontation of the philosophies of M. Henry and H. Maldiney. At this point, we distinguish two major research areas : the analysis of effort and the analysis of temporality with regards to creation. Former is based on the study of the biranian notion of induction while latter leans on the works of J-T. Desanti and in particular on his criticism of the busserlian analysis of temporality. The analysis of the effort and the temporality of creation allow for the design of a phenomenological description of the creation process ; gradually from the interference of an inspiration until the completion of the work. Two possible modes of completion are brought to light. The second part of this research is more hands-on. It consists of live interviews with painters such as H. Cueco, C. Jaccard, J-P. Pincemin, P. Soulages and H. Télémaque who discuss putting theory into practice

Texto completoThe purpose of this doctoral research-creation in arts is to highlight urban artistic practices in aparticular way, whether commissioned or not, and to develop a field of knowledge on the way inwhich they instruct a mode of interaction —between use, appropriation and sharing—with publicspaces and their users. Starting from my artistic journey, I will propose an analysis of artisticpractices of urban intervetion, in order to identify their perspectives, in conversation andcollaboration with this community of artists and actors, mirroring the emergence of street art as anacademic research field. From the analysis of five narratives of artistic experiences, this researchleads to and participates in a redefinition of the role of the street artist, pointing out their quality ofintermediary agent—at the same time creator, interventionist and researcher— likely toaccompany urbanistic and social transformations

Texto completoThe associations abserved in Chagall's autobiography in comparison with the figurative representations scattered in the paintings lead to the question of the role of anguish in the creative porcess. The content analysis of Wagner's autobiography in comparison with the thematic of his lyric works, tragedies and librettos, shows clearly that this role is paramount. If the pressure of anguish triggers the process, its necessary control is achieved with the symbolisation of its parts, and through a transfer of impulsive energy from anguish to creation. At last, anguish feeds the creation of its own materials, which are with Wagner of oedipian extraction. For the creator, creation is then his therapy and his salvation

Texto completoThe works of proust incarnate a new aesthetic: it appears like the process of a continuous search which is deepened more and more, and from which the writer tries, in a retrospect view where the past and the present recognize each other, to get back an identity dispersed in the time, to constitute an +another me; different from the +social me;, to construct a world of his own. The search, more than a search after the truth outside, more than a search after the truth inside, more than a search after the truth on philosophy or on religion, is a search for the search itself. The search outside leads his hero to the abyss of the darkness which separates him from the others; the search inside brings him to notice the succesive death of his +me; in different moments; the search on philosophy or on religion doesn't bring him to any philosophy, any faith, even not the faith in litterature, so that finally he has found nothing except the search itself, the itinerary of the search, this slow and laborious desillusionnement, and all of the unfruitful steps and attempts for the search, as the witnesses of this misadventure in which nothing has been found except its own mistakes. A search for the absolute is the absolute of the search
Sanchez, Carolane. "Ce qui fait flamenco : palimpseste d’une recherche-création avec Juan Carlos Lérida". Thesis, Bourgogne Franche-Comté, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019UBFCC024.
Texto completoMy research aims to answer questions that arose from practicing flamenco, initially as a student, then as an interpreter and choreographer and eventually as a teacher. After gathering insightful experiences from Seville, Madrid and China, my thesis addresses the question “what is flamenco?”. Via a deconstructionist method, this study re-evaluates some of the conceptions and body language that tend to define what is central to flamenco (clichés / established truths / stereotypes), while analysing the dialectics of figures who clearly deviate from these central ideas. Thus, my research explores in greater depth and more specifically the empirical approach developed by Juan Carlos Lérida during his artistic career, for a better understanding of how figures straying from the dominant conception of flamenco, test the elasticity of the outer limits of this artistic expression. My practical and theory-based exploration with Juan Carlos Lérida led me to experiment with an archaeological approach to research-creation in flamenco dance, that aimed to analyse the way flamenco expression has developed (identification of the survival of forms, the festive pathos, the poetics of the spiral movement) from both a diachronic and synchronic perspective, but also to embrace the “palimpsest” as an epistemological tool. The methodological approach that led to the exploration of poetics described in this work, along with the analytical and critical exercises, also incited a range of multi-disciplinary creative projects (performances, video documentaries, dance videos, photographs) that defend the heuristic method of gathering knowledge via studying creation processes and reflecting on experiences

Texto completoThis thesis is a piece of work on the process by which scientific discoveries may be translated into commercially viable innovations. The author examines the particular case of the phenomenon of firms which have been founded by researchers. The approach adopted explore the potential for some degree of convergence between a number of disciplinary approaches in examining this issue : those of the economics of technical change, the sociology of innovation, the management of innovation and science and technology policy. The methodology is an attempt to combine the advantages of both micro and macro level analysis : a survey of one hundred firms created in france during the period 1984-87, with some detailed cases of several of the firms (success and failure cases) ; and of both static and dynamic analysis (a first survey in 1988, a second one in 1992-93). The author finds that the conception, development, production and commercialisation of products and services by researcher-entrepreneurs does not represent a short-circuit to the complex and non-linear process of innovation. The establishment of a network of relationships

Texto completoThe expression Business Model appaered in the mid-90's during the strat-up phenomenon. Largely employed by practitioners, the concept is not yet considered as a real research object by the academic community. This thesis uses the concept in Entrepreneurship and aims at answering the question. Is the Business Model and Operational Concept in the Firm Foundation Context ? The first part of the work tries to clarify the concept through the analysis of the existing works on it. The Business Model is about the value proposition of a firm, about how it is build, about the revenue models and the value exchanges with all the stakeholders. We also present our theoretical proposition based on three theories. The stakeholder theory and the resource-based-view allow addressing the question of the components of the Business Model, while the conventions theory helps understanding the nature of the Business Model, as a business convention shared by the stakeholders of a company. To answer the initial question, we choose to implement ourselves the Business Model with entrepreneurs through an action research process that implies both pratical and theoretical results. The Business Model appears as a convention related to the creation, the remuneration and the share of value

Texto completoThe issue of technology transfer from public research institutes towards Industry has drawn considerable attention over recent years, thus mobilizing a wide range of socio-economic actors striving to fulfill the institutional and organizational requirements of Science-Industry relationships. Among the existing mechanisms of technology transfer, the creation of public research spin-offs has come under intense scrutiny given its characteristics and potentialities regarding public research commercialization. However, the complexities and varied constraints faced by this process represent a major impediment for the authorities in charge of its setting up. Particularly, the emergence and development of such a process within public research organizations raise new questions in a traditionally non commercial environment, thus requiring new institutional patterns and practices. In order to shed light on this complex and specific mechanism of technology transfer, we will start-off with describing and highlighting the various dimensions and issues related to it. Next, we will focus more specifically on the way public research organizations set up the spinning-off policies and strategies to meet the requirements of technology transfer. At last, we will round out our analysis by presenting a case study of the Genopôle d’Evry, a French science park mainly dedicated to the nurturing of biotechnology spin-offs

In this part, we will look into the relationships between Artaud's work and the following : World War I and II, the discourses and representations that these wars generated and the militarization of psychiatric institutions between 1914 and 1945. In the second part we will look at this « war machine » as a starting point for my art projects. In order to investigate the complex relationships between people and the spaces they occupy, I propose these various projects wich reenacts Antonin Artaud's gestures of insurrection

The probability of a technological lock-in with an inferior technology is minimised by the introduction of the strategic manoeuvring of technology sponsors and the study of the diffusion process of technological innovations. The notion of technological acceptability is preferred to an inferiority-and-superiority analysis because it allows a better comprehension of the phenomena of technological creation, diffusion and competitions

Texto completoThis doctoral thesis in performing arts looks into scenic writings of human disasters in contemporary theatre. It examines dynamics underlying the representation of barbarism within spectacular forms imprinted with a visual dimension. Split into two parts – a first one, critical and a second one, practical -, the work is firstly structured around a corpus composed of three shows : Kamp of the Hotel Modern group, Rwanda 94 of Groupov and Rouge décanté by Guy Cassiers. Through the observation of the works in the light of the complexity and by analysing it with a systemic approach, the study attempts to reveal the moves – aesthetic, perceptive and thematic – that drive these heterogeneous writings. The second part of the thesis deals with a process of experimentation led in the scenic space. The latter, dedicated to outline an original artistic creation, questions occidental memories on the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda. The practical experience echoes back to several issues raised by the critical investigation and proposes another form of reflection, directly led on the stage. Keywords : Contemporary theatre, Research-creation, Complexity, Genocide, Images, Europe.

Texto completoDances are a priori silent. However, contemporary dancers increasingly use the spoken word on stage. The problem is that they do it like actors and notas dancers in the sense that the word is not influenced by the dance and vice versa. This issue of a fixed and somewhat oppressive relationship betweendance and speech motivated me to seek to streamline this dichotomous relationship. Since 2012 I have therefore been developing Phonesia, aperformative technique that deautomates and rearranges the structural links between gesture and orality.Phonesia provides speaking dancers with a toolbox that is both practical (performative montage between gestures and speech) and theoretical (inventedconcepts of different soma-linguistic arrangements). This thesis exposes a creation-research path which, starting from phonesic works, reveals theprocesses of creation of these practical and theoretical tools; these, in turn, are reinjected into new phonesic projects, thus putting this cognitive gainback to the challenge of creation. This poïetics is part of the continuation of artists who come not only from the choreographic milieu, but also fromtheatre, sound poetry and cinema.Through phonesic works of very varied forms (immersive show, participatory performance, conference-performance, film-action, mixed reality show, interactive streaming) the reader is led to follow the evolutions of Phonesia in search of enrichment of the choreographic field, even of a new form ofexpression which tries to open up a new terrain where the sensitive and the intelligible can meet multiple entanglements

Texto completoThis creation/thesis revolves around a medium-length film – I Can Swim Home (I Can Swim Home), questioning the renewal of forms and the artist’s practice in a context of global crisis (environmental crises, health crisis, economical, political and institutional crisis.) What leads may art provide toward envisioning a communal horizon? How may art, through research and experimentation, contribute to invent tools and practical alternatives allowing us to renew our modes of exchanging, sharing, attention, and imagining? This research doesnot aim to make an inventory of forms throughout art history, but to underline what, in the patterns encountered therein, might reveal the artist’s desire to invoke the collective, and to invoke commonality as the nature of the work itself. I C S H aims to go back to one of art’s primary truth: the “inauguration” of an open community, relying upon both the ecological concern of the artist and their adhesion to an ethics of care. The work of the artist will therefore oscillate between the negative pole of the crisis of production/reproduction in the era of the Anthropocene, and the positive pole of a quest for an identity through the plurality of their environmental and social inscriptions. In line with this theoretical stance, through the multiplicity of practices it implements, I C S H constitutes an experiment in investigating “reconnection” (between the artist and the art world, between art and the living), situated in two Mediterranean sites, the Villa Arson and the Lerins Islands.I Can Swim Home is a multiform comprehensive work including a fictional film, a number of collective moments of intensification of the aesthetical experience, a research notebook documenting the artist’s intuitions and questioning, and a critical analysis of the artist’s practice, inviting entities and individuals to partake into the aesthetic invention

This public incubator has for objective to encourage the valuation of the potential of research for the regional higher education, through the creation of technical and innovative companies. The interest of this structure is that she allows to observe a new approach of the innovation processes. Our search is about an empirical study of five projects selected in incubation. To have a global vision of the process of incubation, the operated method was three-dimensional. It consisted in identifying the context of each projects, the innovative and commercial processes of creation, and the words which are used in incubation. We would like to understand how Acceval operates to accompany the transformation of a concept of innovative technology towards the creation of a commercial company

Texto completoWords are performances. Acts are performances. An academic study is, infact, a performative act in itself. As a white european studying in Salvador (Bahia),can I take a stand against social injustice in a perspective of decolonization of science? Research-creation allows us to question the ways of knowledge production. Thanks to the Soundpainting language – language of gestures created by Walter Thomson (1974) which allow us composing in real time - the research creation,in addition to its orality and pluridisciplinarity, proposes an approach to the concepts of identity (gender, sexualities, racism, identity, etc.) which considers the particularity of their movings and their evolving and subjective forms. As a "collaborative research", this research has evolved in contact with several performers who participated in the creation, as well as the various audiences we met. Each one has contributed to the evolution of its research object, "the whiteness in Salvador." The first part of this thesis proposes an overview of the concept of whiteness, trying to define some recurring characteristics, considering the particularities related to each socio-cultural context, here in France and also in Brazil. The second part describes the different stages of the research project an dits evolution over the meetings

Texto completoWhy and how does Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) invite managers to redefine business models? Implementing CSR means that the company is gradually redefining value creation according to the universal values of sustainable development. The business model, as a representative tool of a company's value creation system, no longer aims to create only economic value but also social, societal and environmental values. The profit of the company is considered through an equation of plural profits giving meaning to the overall performance of the company. The research-intervention carried out "with and for" Janssen France has made it possible to develop and test a process of values creation by CSR to facilitate decision making by managers in this area. It consists of three sequences. It helps practitioners to better understand how CSR is defined in their business, to structure a strategic orientation and to make concrete the company's contributions to sustainable development issues. By integrating CSR at the heart of the business model's components, the company broadens the scope of its activities and contributes to the common good

Texto completoThe focus in this thesis is on the implications of remix in the art field within the digital dematerialisation era. Many elements like the technicality of the medium, the malleability of the contents, the banalisation of copyright infringement or the unprecedented availability of materials impact creation directly. All this has given birth to multiple creation strategies by, for, with or out of the Internet. Artworks are open, processual, interactive. Digital art is a flourishing movement and remix occupies a key place within. It is thus in the long history of artistic remix and the new emerging history of digital creation that I chose to enrol in a research creation. As an artist for more than ten years, I have had to articulate a ‘research > creation’ (‘on art’ and my past artworks) and a ‘creation > research’ (on my artworks in progress). During the period of ‘research > creation’, the assumption of the filiation of my work to digital remix led me to examine, from a theoretical point of view, the terms of the fruitful encounter between remix and digital art and then to apply the analysis to seven of my previous artworks. This brought to light the critical range and the diversity of my own remix and their dominance: the liability of the copyright; the relationship to time and interactivity; the criticism of informational abundance; and the collection as an intention and a principle of creation. This ‘research > creation’ has been ‘rendered real’ with the creation of three new artworks during the ‘creation > research’. The exploration of my hypothesis led me to jeopardise the generally accepted definition of reflexive remix, in particular its referential range. My latest artworks were born from this disruption and of an intention which was no longer critical, but experimental. These artworks enabled me to distinguish a ‘outpaced remix’ which goes beyond reflexive remix in the direction of a complete dissolution of the original from which each one derived

Texto completoOur research work was led in the field of industrial engineering and concerns the early stages of the innovation process. This was developped within the frame of a PhD thesis, in association with EDF R&D and INPL. This research was of a key importance for EDF group as the french energy market is massively changing. Ln this context it's highly valuable to find new ways and means to fulfill the real needs and expectations of the customers as fast as possible and at the same time to assess the acceptability of the new provided concepts. Finally, our research work actively participate to the setting of "Createam", an operational innovation system, which is based on an user-centered multidisciplinary team work, using specific tools in the early stages of the design process : Ideefix (a new "use-oriented" concept description form), Ideofil (an internet collaborative concept elicitation tool), Storyofil (a storyboard management tool). .

Texto completoThis work is an exercise of union between the sciences of information and of communication. A robust methodology and tools of bibliometric analysis are used for scientometric and mediametric studies. For this, we have studied the scientific production of a public organization of research and development, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), their researchers competencies and finally we have evaluated the performance of this organization and its 40 research centers in the media. The results indicate that the function of the analysis of organizational internal and external information is today an important and strategic instrument for the improvement of decisions and to build organizational policies that contribute to the development of the society. The study of R&D competencies demonstrates the potential of intelligence, which can be generated with information already available in organizations, although dispersed into several administrative departments. It witnesses the need to organize in the organization an informational environment specific for the function of analysis, integrating databases and information from various sources. The use of mediametry methodologies provides space and efficiency to the monitoring functions of the organizations communication processes, for the evaluation of campaigns and the production of press releases and other communication material. The relationship with the Press also benefits with the elaboration of suggestions of adequate reports to the editor's preferences. This would not be possible without the acquisition of intelligence on the media to determinate its trends through the analysis of its production, the themes preferred by each vehicle and the behavior of their editors. The function of clipping, following what the Press is publishing is present in organizations of the five continents, the integration of the function of analysis by the creation of the Clipping database is the differential presented by this work. With similar bases, methodologies and tools as those described here, it is possible to carry out prospective studies on the historical evolution of a topic, a product, a politician or a company in the media and to facilitate activities of monitoring the environment, competitors or a whole sector of the economy

Texto completoThis thesis analyzes the contribution of managers to the acquisition and to the maintaining of competitive advantage. Whereas they are a multitude of explanatory factors to the acquisition and maintaining of an advantage- relating either to the structure of the industry or to the characteristics of the company, or both, and although it is generally accepted that the management of a competitive advantage belongs to the leaders, the unicity of a causal phenomenon is not established. From a study of the literature on the subject and from six case studies, this thesis shows, first of all, that the causal phenomenon is related to individual and collective human action. More precisely, it shows that the presence and the maintaining of a competitive advantage are the results of a process that is broader than the creation of value for the customer. They require a process of collective action directed by the transformation of a profit opportunity into economic and social profit. The role of the managers is to make possible the process of collective action. Their contribution is threefold. They detect opportunities on the markets upstream (products/services) and downstream (resources/competencies) and connect the organization with these markets. That is the entrepreneurial aspect of their action. They adapt offer to demand under the constraints of profitability. That is the managerial aspect of their action. They co-create collective identity and release creativity and individual action. That is the leadership aspect of their action

This earthquake damaged irreparably some cultural treasures with the result that learned men are in a hurry to find some methods to prevent these events from re-occurring. The study of the relationship between creativity and restoration has application in preserving new creations for the future. The temple represents spiritual centers in the chinese society of Taiwan.
