Resumen
In this paper, we proposed a Secured E-Counselling Framework using Composite Web services to enhance the counselling, which is fully works as an online. This framework will be a great relief to the students in terms of reporting, registration and searching the information about college and university. Moreover this software gives an overview of the entire institute in a sort interval time and will be also great help to University to manage in the whole counselling procedure by reduce their paper work and their time. Students counselling system for Engineering/MBA/MCA is conducted by face to face communication in between the student and staff. This is suitable only for the students who are nearer to that university which conduct counselling. But this system will not be a comfortable one for the students who are coming from long distance. To avoid this problem, attending the counselling through the online from their own place with proper authentication is proposed. This task is accomplished by Student Online Counselling system.

Resumen
Counselling services are valuable for higher education students, but undergraduate science students often neglect them despite needing counselling assistance. This results in wasted resources and unaddressed counselling concerns, ultimately hindering students' academic performance. This study aimed to examine the attitudes and perceptions of undergraduate science students regarding academic counselling services in West African higher education institutions. Using a survey research method, data were gathered through open-ended and closed-ended questionnaires from university students in Ghana and Nigeria. One hundred and four undergraduate science students from two public institutions participated in the research. Responses were analysed using thematic analysis and percentage distribution. The research showed that undergraduate science students generally showed a positive attitude towards seeking academic counselling services on their campuses. Students also acknowledged the potential benefits of seeking counselling, such as enhancing academic confidence and decision-making abilities, building practical time management skills, and addressing personal, social, and emotional issues. However, their perceptions of the institutional academic counselling services were unfavourable due to several barriers that hindered their full participation in the provided institutional assistive services. It is therefore recommended that institutional administrators consider establishing informed policies and methods that address students' attitudes and views towards counselling to boost the use of counselling services among science students on West African university campuses. This can be done by cooperating with academic counsellors and addressing science students' difficulties in using these services. By doing so, students' motivation to use counselling services can be increased, leading to better outcomes.

Resumen
The extent of social media use among adolescent students has the potential to positively and negatively affect their psychosocial development. In the context of education, social media has the potential to serve as an effective tool in the guidance and counselling process, particularly in the context of guidance and counselling services in schools. The research methodology used is descriptive research with a literature review. The literature review will provide secondary data studies which will then be used to determine the extent of adolescents' use of social media and the effectiveness of guidance and counselling interventions. The existing literature reveals a variety of effects associated with social media, both positive and negative. The efforts above have been implemented in reality group counselling, educational cinema group counselling, counselling with self-management techniques, provision of information services, home visits and classical counselling. In addition, counsellors use social media to provide guidance and counselling services, thereby facilitating the provision of assistance to counselees at present through the use of technology. The use of social media by counsellors includes implementing online counselling (e-counselling), electronic-based modules and counselling services through WhatsApp.

Resumen
At the beginning of the 20th century in the U.S., psychological intervention one might say that have been born. This research started from the following hypothesis: there is a correlation between the awareness of the existence of counseling offices and the degree of addressability to the services offered by counseling offices. The method used was a questionnaire survey (Alpha Cronbach coefficient is .790), applied on 207 students. The existence of the counselling office in the university is unknown for 54.6% of students (113 subjects) and there are 55.1% (114 subjects) who do not know that there is a counselling office within the university, registering a correlation of .657** (p-0.01). Due to not knowing about the existence of this office and the services offered by it, the 152 subjects – there are 73.4% who never called the counselor, and they come as a negative consequence, unfortunately. Out of 23 students - 11.1% very rarely addressed counselling services and 16 students -7.7% rarely called the services of the counseling office. Only 1 student - 0.5% and 3 students -1.4% say they have very often or often turned to the counselling office in their student life. A number of 12 students - 5.8% declare that they have turned to the school counsellor every now and then.

Resumen
This is a study showcasing the utilization and knowledge of Counselling Services by Graduate Students at KNUST. The counselling Center of KNUST has been in existence over a decade and most of the clients that patronize its services are undergraduate students with few being Graduate Students. This paper was basically aimed at examining the level of awareness the KNUST Counselling Center, the services provided for members of the university community including graduate students and patronage of the services among Graduate students. There is minimal literature about studies done on Graduate students and counselling and there has not been such study to examine the impact of counselling among Graduate students in a university in Ghana. Therefore, it is hopedthat this study will lead to further studies among graduate students towards better ways of resolving their issues to improve their mental health. From the study, most Graduate students attest to the fact that Counselling is very important and some confirmed that they would recommend the KNUST-Counselling Center to other students. The services and benefits of the KNUST Counselling Center are described in this paper. Alternative ways for effective utilization of the services of the counselling center are explained to support graduate students to improve their mental heal while in school.

Resumen
This paper argues that Guidance and counselling services are essential for achieving functional education in Nigeria. The paper employed a systematic review of literature to highlight the critical gap created by the absence or inadequacy of guidance and counselling services in schools. Functional education equips individuals with relevant, employable skills necessary for personal development and societal contribution. However, without integrated counselling services, students are left unguided in making educational and career choices, contributing to high rates of unemployment, underemployment, and skill mismatches. The paper explores the impact of inadequate counselling on students’ career development, academic achievement, and mental health, warning of potential consequences such as increased dropout rates and poor career decisions. The existing literature reveals a significant deficiency in the current education system due to the neglect of guidance services. The paper concludes with practical recommendations for embedding counselling services across all educational levels to support national workforce development. Without urgent reform, Nigeria risks continued economic stagnation and social instability fueled by a generation unprepared to meet the demands of a competency-driven workforce.

Throughout member countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a number of important policy directions are placing increasing demands upon career information and guidance services. A growing emphasis upon lifelong learning for all and active employment and welfare policies are among the more important. Yet alongside these pressures for wider community access to career assistance services, recent OECD work reveals weaknesses in the organisation and delivery of career information, guidance and counselling. A key challenge facing governments is to widen access to these services in an affordable way and yet to maintain their quality. This paper describes a new OECD activity on policies for career information, guidance and counselling services that will examine this challenge.

Abstract: This study investigated the influence of social factors on counselling seeking behaviour of students at the higher learning institutions by drawing examples from the University of Dodoma. It employed a descriptive research design using a qualitative research approach. A total of 99 respondents including 20 counsellors and 79 third year university students were involved. Purposive and random sampling techniques were used in selecting respondents for this study. Interview and focus group discussions were used to obtain data from students and counsellors. Data were analysed thematically to generate themes and sub-themes. Furthermore, the study found that students’ social factors such as prior help seeking experience, gender, age and family background may either negatively or positively influence the seeking behaviour of counselling services at the university. The study recommends that the University management and the government should cooperate to ensure effective counselling services are provided to students through having many counsellors, counselling units and educating students to seek counselling services available at the university. Keywords: counselling seeking behaviour, higher learning institutions, counselling services, counselling units. Title: INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL FACTORS ON COUNSELLING SEEKING BEHAVIOUR OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN TANZANIA. Resumen
The historical foundation of guidance and counselling (BK) in Indonesia plays an important role in shaping the practice of BK services in various educational institutions, including at SMK Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach using interview, observation, and documentation methods aimed at examining the historical foundation and implementation of guidance and counselling (BK) services at SMK Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya, with resource person Mr Abdurrahman, one of the BK teachers. Currently, there are seven counselling teachers handling ±2,600 students with a ratio of 1:150. Each counselling teacher is responsible for one area, including mechanical, automotive, building, electrical, electrical, computer and broadcasting engineering. Observations showed that the school's counselling services include basic, responsive and specialisation services. The main challenges include the lack of counselling teachers, low understanding of the duties of counselling teachers by others, and complex student problems such as smoking. The counselling approach emphasises gradual reduction of negative behaviours and increasing students' trust in the counselling teacher through the principle of credit. The findings indicate the importance of increasing the number of counselling teachers to optimally meet students‘ needs and the need to educate school authorities about the duties and functions of counselling and provide a comprehensive overview of the strategic role of counselling in supporting students’ readiness to face academic and non-academic challenges.

Resumen
Implementation of guidance and counselling services in schools requires School Guidance and Counselling Teachers (SGCT) to provide this services to all students, whether the mainstream students or Special Needs Students (SNT), as outlined in the Buku Rekod Perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling (Guidance and Counselling Services Record Book). This situation has challenged SGCT especially in meeting the specific needs of SNT. This raises questions regarding the involvement of SGCT in providing guidance and counselling services especially to SNT as well as challenges faced in implementing such services. Therefore, a qualitative study has been conducted to answer the questions. This study involved six SGCT who serve in schools that adopt the Integrated Special Education Program or the Inclusive Education Program. Semi-structured interview questions have been used to obtain relevant information. The finding of this study shows that there are direct and indirect SGCT's involvements with SNT. While the challenges that GBKS face in carrying out guidance and counselling services are divided into three themes, namely the challenges characterized by SGCT, challenges characterized by SNT and challenges characterized by the Organization. Resumen
School counselling services have always been unpopular among Malaysian students. Many researchers have studied what prevents students from seeking mental health services. However, there is a lack of study on the barriers to seeking help in the context of Malaysian school counselling services. Using a sample of Chinese high school students (N = 277), this qualitative study explored the under-utilisation of school counselling services. A thematic analysis was used to analyse an open-ended question, and the findings uncovered contextualised issues such as: conceptualisation of problems and the shameful, fearful, concerned, and responsible self that contributes to the under-utilisation of school counselling services.

Purpose: This study explored the nature of guidance and counselling services available for the students in Komenda College of Education. Methodology: The descriptive survey design was used for the study. A sample of 185 students consisting of 95 level 200 students and 90 level 300 students were sampled from the population. The major instrument used for data collection was questionnaire. Questionnaire was used because it is the most appropriate instrument that could be used to collect data on the variables for the study. Content-related evidence of validity was established for the instrument. The researchers personally administered the questionnaire. The entry of quantitative data and analysis was done using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings: The results from the study showed that guidance and counselling services were vibrant and visible in Komenda College of Education. The study revealed that Seventy-five per cent (75%) of the respondents claimed that attitudes of Guidance and Counselling Coordinators and Tutors were very appropriate for counselling services. All types of guidance and counselling services were rendered in the college. The study further revealed that some students had negative attitudes towards accessing guidance and counselling services. Unique Contribution to Practice and Policy: The researchers therefore recommend that, school authorities should be provided with needed logistics for effective guidance and counselling services in schools and colleges. Also, there should be in-service trainings and refresher courses and seminars for guidance and counselling coordinators to up-date their skills in guidance and counselling. Finally, the Ghana Education Service should organise periodic educational programmes for both teachers and students on the role of guidance and counselling in schools and colleges.

Resumen
Introduction: With evidence to support the use of text messaging for smoking cessation, some quitlines in North America have incorporated text messaging into their service offerings.Aims: This study sought to evaluate whether integrated phone counselling and text messaging services are acceptable to quitline callers, and to identify strategies for improving text messaging services in the context of a quitline. Methods: Thirty-five adult callers of the New Mexico state quitline who had enrolled in multi-call phone counselling and Text2Quit, a text messaging programme, were interviewed by phone. Interviews assessed use and acceptability of the phone counselling and text messaging interventions. Results: Use of phone counselling and text messaging was generally high among participants. While most participants reported that they would highly recommend Text2Quit (75.8%) or phone counselling (78.8%) individually, a relatively higher proportion indicated they would highly recommend the combined services (93.9%). Suggestions for improvement focused on increased customisation and personalisation. Conclusions: This study provides preliminary evidence for the acceptability of integrated phone counselling and text messaging services. Research is needed that explores the impact of these widely-used integrated services on smoking cessation.

Resumen
The study aimed to assess the factors that hinder the promotion of counselling services of students in Higher and Tertiary Education in Masvingo Province. Rogers’s person-centred theory and Bindura’s social learning theory were the principal guiding philosophies. Moreso, through a case study approach, the study applied both positivism and interpretivism principles. It also followed a mixed research design through the use of quantitative and qualitative research approaches. The population comprised students, counsellors and lecturers. Stratified random sampling, convenience and purposive sampling were used to select the respondents. Besides, a sample size of one hundred and thirty (130) respondents were selected which comprised; 105 students, 6 counsellors and 19 lecturers. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaires, interviews and observations. Quantitative data were analysed through the use of SPSS program and a content analysis approach was used for qualitative data. Data was presented using pie charts, tables, graphs and narrative form and was arranged according to research questions. The study established that the factors that lead students to seek counselling services were health-related problems, academic challenges and social problems. Individual and group counselling emerged as the main types of counselling services offered to students. However, in limited circumstances, pastoral and group counselling approaches were also used. The study also ascertained that students benefit from counselling services through enhancement of coping skills, social skills and academic skills. However, the main factors as established by the study which hinders students’ access to counselling services were; limited access to counselling facilities, the, privacy of facilities and the gender of a counsellor. It was recommended that Institutions need to adopt a gendered approach in the provision of counselling services and recruitment of counselling staff.

Purpose: This study intended to consider the patronage and effectiveness of guidance and counselling programmes offered to Junior High Schools (J.H.S.) students in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality in the Central Region of Ghana. Methodology: The researchers used exploratory research design for the study. The researchers considered all the 105 Junior High Schools (J.H.S.) in the Municipality as the subject for the study. The researchers sampled 50 schools for data collection. They (researchers) administered questionnaire to the headmasters and teachers in-charge of guidance and counselling in the selected 50 Junior High Schools (JHSs) arriving at a total of 100 respondents. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaire. Data gathered were analysed in tables and converting them into percentages. Findings: The findings revealed that, guidance and counselling services were available in the schools with qualified and experienced officers to handle issues as and when they happen. They also offer prompt response to such issues. It further came out that there were not even a single school in the Municipality, which had a place as an office earmarked for guidance and counselling services. There were also some interference from other teachers, parents and headmasters in the affairs of counselling which hampered the effectiveness of the guidance and counselling services. Some teachers too felt reluctant to report identified problems to the notice of the counselling coordinators. Unique Contribution to Practice and Policy: The researchers suggested that misconceptions that some teachers, parents and other stakeholders have about guidance and counselling services should be expunged from their minds. Finally, recommendations from the researchers were that, to improve the guidance and counselling services for junior high school students in KEEA Municipality there should be regular workshops and orientation for teachers who ate mandated to offer guidance and counselling services to students. Teachers should be made to understand that counselling is geared towards cooperation, teamwork and meant for all students and develop well in confidential setting. The researchers suggested that guidance and counselling services should be infused into the schools’ timetable like the assembly and worship.

Resumen
The exploration of students' potential and learning capacities may provide deeper insights into their characteristics and serve as a foundation for providing practical career guidance, especially for those with specific learning disabilities (SLDs). This article presents an examination of career counselling models and services for students with SLDs. The chosen methodology for this research was a narrative literature review. Some examples of career counselling models discussed in this article include the trait-and-factor model, the client-centered career counselling model, and the faith-based career counselling model. The provision of career counselling services to students with SLDs was addressed, including aspects such as choosing a career and promoting a balance between their professional and personal lives. Career counselling models provide counsellors with a practical framework for implementing career counselling with students. These models are particularly valuable in offering practical career assistance to students with SLDs. It is advisable for career counsellors to acquire a deeper understanding of the experiential worldviews held by students with specific learning disabilities, recognise the potential impact of these disabilities on students' sense of self, and formulate interventions aimed at facilitating these students' adaptation to the educational environment and professional settings. Students with specific SLDs who use career counselling services are afforded the chance to develop a professional identity that is in congruence with the demands of the current job market.

Resumen
This study investigated the strategies for enhancing guidance and counselling services in an effort to mitigate psychosocial distress in Tanzanian Universities. The study adopted a qualitative approach. Multistage and purposive sampling techniques were used to select the study participants. Two universities, two counsellors and two Deans of Students were purposively selected while eighteen students, nine from each university were sampled on the willingness basis for group discussion across the faculties. Data was collected using focus group discussion and interview schedule. For content validity, the inter-raters established the viability of the instruments in view of the research question. Reliability was ensured through multiple data collection instruments. Data was analyzed thematically. The study established that peer counselling programs were not formalized in universities in Tanzania. It can also be concluded that students were not informed about the availability and benefits of guidance and counselling services available in universities and the guidance and counselling departments were underfunded by the universities. Moreover, the counsellors were not professionally trained in counselling. The study recommended that Universities should employ professional counsellors, adequately fund the guidance and counselling services for efficient services. Besides, orientation programs should include informing new students about available guidance and counselling services on campuses.

Resumen
This study aimed to identify the attitudes of middle school students towards the educational counselling services provided in Jordanian schools and to reveal whether their attitudes towards the counselling services are affected by the variables of gender and place of residence. It also sought to predict middle school students' attitudes toward the counselling services provided in Jordanian schools through the study's psychometric and demographic variables. A total of (820) male and female middle school students in Jordanian schools participated in the study during the second semester of the academic year (2023/2024) and were selected using a random method. The study tool (questionnaire) was applied to measure students' attitudes toward the counselling services provided. The study findings revealed that students' attitudes towards the counselling process ranked highest, followed by their attitudes towards the counsellor (second place) and the counselee (third place). Regarding the study samples' overall performance on the study tool, they exhibit a typically positive attitude towards the educational counselling services offered in Jordanian schools. Furthermore, it was found that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the participants' attitudes towards the educational counselling services provided in Jordanian schools attributable to the variable of the place of residence favouring the category of those residing in (the village). No significant statistical gender differences between the averages of the participants' attitudes towards the educational counselling services provided in Jordanian schools were observed. Finally, based on the results of this study and the literature reviewed, the researcher proposed a set of practical procedures to be applied. Resumen
This study aims to reduce students' academic stress through online counselling-based information services. The experimental group consisting of one psychologist, two counsellors, and two classes of students was given online counselling-based information services help (a total of 27 students). In contrast, the control group obtained conventional information services help (a total of 25 students). The participant technique uses purposive sampling. A quasi-experimental method using a nonrandomized pretest-posttest control group design with Mann-Whitney analysis was used. The research instrument used was a stress scale, which was adapted from Fathiyah (2019) consisting of 4 aspects, namely: physical, cognitive, affective and conative, and totalling 40 items. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the academic stress effect between students who received online counselling and conventional information-based service assistance. The benefit of this research is that efforts to reduce academic stress cannot be afforded only from one counselling service, but require a variety of services, such as online counselling-based information services and conventional information services.

Resumen
Mental health decline and psychological distress is rising among tertiary students’ worldwide andis now recognised internationally as an important public health issue. There is a growing demand for campus-based counselling services as evidence suggests that providing on-campus counselling support can significantly support student mental health and wellbeing. In addition, there is a symbiotic demand for counselling students to have the opportunity to integrate their skills through practice with clients. With the increasing demand for universities and tertiary institutes to provide counselling support, the use of graduate level trainees to deliver counselling services could provide an innovative and effective model to cope with high demand in a cost-efficient way. This qualitative research explores the perceptions of students who have sought counselling, delivered by trainee counsellors within a tertiary education setting. A thematic analysis was used to interpret the data from anonymous, semi-structured survey questions. Three predominate themes were identified; 1) positive experiences of counselling were connected directly to the relationship and positive regard that the counsellor fostered; 2) the counselling process supported the clients’ autonomy, self-determination and resilience and 3) despite nervousness, clients were surprised by the perceived positive benefits of counselling. A fourth theme identified that a minority of clients need a more experienced therapist to support their needs. This study demonstrated that counselling services delivered by trainee counsellors was perceived as helpful by the majority of students and has implications for improving practice and service availability through the use of trainees within university counselling services.
