Resumen
Introdução. O fenômeno do envelhecimento populacional tem sido observado em todo o mundo. Neste contexto, está inserida a doença de Alzheimer, que é uma desordem neurodegenerativa progressiva ca­racterizada por um progressivo declínio da função congnitiva. Com­portamentos neuropsicológicos e não congnitivos ocorrem com fre­quência em pacientes idosos com a doença de Alzheimer. Dentre esses comportamentos, várias formas de distúrbios alimentares, incluindo a hiperfagia vem sendo reportado nos estudos. Portanto, esse trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma revisão sobre os possíveis mecanis­mos responsáveis por essa mudança comportamental. Método. Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura, através de pesquisas bibliográficas na literatura, utilizando as bases eletrônicas no Lilacs® e Medline® via Pubmed® para buscar artigos de revistas e jornais científicos indexados, na língua inglesa, que fossem referentes ao assunto. Para tal finalida­de, utilizaram-se as palavras da língua inglesa: “Alzheimer´s disease”, “Hyperphagia”, “Behavioral disturbance”, “Dementia”. Conclusão. Nessa revisão, podemos verificar que mudanças no comportamento alimentar são comuns em pacientes com Alzheimer, mas que o meca­nismo exato para tal modificação ainda não está claro.

Resumen
The aim: To explore the features of the congnitive (CD) and neurovegetative dysfunctions (NVD) of patients with different forms of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease NAFLD (nonalcoholic fatty hepatosis (NAFH) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), as well as their dynamics against the background of complex therapy using armadin (2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine succinate). Materials and methods: 50 patients with NAFLD (24 patients with NAFH and 26 patients with NASH) and T2DM were examined. Dysfunction of central and vegetative nervous system was carried out with the help of neuro-psychometric testing. Results: The analysis of the conducted research before treatments indicates the NVD in the surveyed patients. Cognitive dysfunctions (mostly mild and moderate) was revealed in all of our patients in both groups. The most pronounced disturbances before treatments were determined in the areas of attention and concentration, memory, less pronounced – visually constructive area, especially among patients with NASH and T2DM. Stressful situations have a pronounced impact on the lives of these patients, but they are not critical enough to any issues. Patients of Group 2 before treatments had the lowest level of resistance to stress. They found a slight vulnerability even from minor impacts. Conclusions: In patients with NAFLD and T2DM, congnitive and neurovegetative dysfunctions were found, according to neuro-psychometric testing. Complex therapy using 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine succinate is an effective and safe method for the correction of congnitive and neurovegetative dysfunctions in patients with NAFLD and T2DM.

<p> In this study, we propose a new hybrid approach for time series prediction based on the efficient capabilities of fuzzy cognitive maps (FCMs) with structure optimization algorithms and artificial neural networks (ANNs). The proposed structure optimization genetic algorithm (SOGA) for automatic construction of FCM is used for modeling complexity based on historical time series, and artificial neural networks (ANNs) which are used at the final process for making time series prediction. The suggested SOGA-FCM method is used for selecting the most important nodes (attributes) and interconnections among them which in the next stage are used as the input data to ANN used for time series prediction after training. The FCM with proficient learning calculations and ANN have been as of now demonstrated as adequate strategies for setting aside a few minutes arrangement anticipating. The execution of the proposed approach is exhibited through the examination of genuine information of every day water request and the comparing expectation. The multivariate examination of recorded information is held for nine factors, season, month, day or week, occasion, mean and high temperature, rain normal, touristic action and water request. The entire approach was actualized in a clever programming device at first sent for FCM forecast. Through the exploratory investigation, the value of the new mixture approach in water request forecast is illustrated, by computing the mean outright blunder (as one of the outstanding expectation measures). The outcomes are promising for future work to this bearing.</p>

A trvez de un encuadre metodológico cualitativo basado en entrevistas en profundidad se analizan las practicas de autocuidado en estas areas y se constatan las carencias determinadas por creencias, contenidos congnitivos - emocionales y relaciones proveedor/usuaria que inhiben su fortalecimiento. Consecuentemente, se establecen derechos ciudadanos en el ámbito de la salud reproductiva, los cuales asegurarias mayores niveles de responsabilidad y de autonomia en el autocuidado, reforzando el establecimiento de ciudadanias activas.

Resumen
This paper is a review of the state of the art in the field of computer-assisted cognitive intervention with people with cerebral dysfunction. A sharp distinction is drawn between the “special education” and “neuro psychological” models of rehabilitation. This facilitates a better understanding of the fact that microcomputers were initially introduced into the general field of cognitive clinical intervention in a brash and unfortunately atheoretical manner. The early published estimations of efficacy of such practices have not been very encouraging. However, it becomes obvious that within a context of intelligent application of microcomputers by professionals well trained in cognitive and neural science, certain highly specific but clearly interesting clinical results have been obtained and should be on the increase. The advantages and disadvantages of using computers in clinical congnitive intervention are discussed. A brief survey of currently useful hardware and software is provided, and developments expected to occur in the near and more remote future are discussed.

Resumen
This article describes the effects of inquiry learning model on college students’ cognitive and critical thinking skills. The research aims at understanding the extent inquiry learning model improves the college students’ cognitive and critical thinking skills in the lessons of educational philosophy and exploring students’ responses to the model. This is a pre-experimental research design, using the one group pretest-posttest design. The samples of the study were an intact class, the experimental group and no control group is needed. The data was analysed using independent test samples t-test and Normalized Gain test. The Research found that the inquiry model is effective in improving college students’ cognitive and critical thinking ability in an educational philosophy class. Overall, the N-Gain indicator of cognitive ability increased by an average of 0.66, and the N-Gain indicator of critical thinking skills increased by an average of 0.63. Resumen
This study was designed to examine motor and congnitive changes, infarct lesion and neurohistological changes, involving histologic staining and immunohistochemical expression of caspase-3 after induction by right unilateral common carotid artery occlusion (RUCCAO) for 90 minutes. The animals were divided into two groups: sham group and stroke model group. Cognitive impairment was evaluated by Y maze. Motor function was measured on days 0, 1, 3 and 7 using FUAT paradigm. Infarct area, histological and caspase-3 expressions were evaluated on day 14 after RUCCAO. The results showed that RUCCAO induced cognitive and motor impairment on day 3 and 7. Furthermore, stroke model group induced infarct lesion. Hispatology examination showed body damage of neuron cell in the ipsilateral hemisphere. Moreover, expression of caspase-3 on RUCCAO group was significantly higher than that in sham group. In conclusion, RUCCAO method caused significant cognitive and motor function impairment. Furthermore, RUCCAO also induced infarct lesions and cell death in the thalamus brain area. Thus, RUCCAO can be employed as a method for ischemic stroke model, especially in focal ischemia.

Penanganan post trauma stress disorder pada anak korban bencana alam khususnya banjir yang sering melanda desanya saat ini menjadi sebuah prioritas. Berbagai dampak yang ditimbulkan bukan hanya kerugian secara materi saja namun juga akan berdampak pada psikologisnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh cognitive behavioral play therapy (CBPT) terhadap post trauma stress disorder pada anak korban banjir di Kabupaten Tuban.Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Pra Eksperimental dengan metode penelitian One Group Pra-Post Test Design yang dilakukan pada 28 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar responden berada pada tingkat PTSD Sedang sebelum perlakuan dan setelah diberikan perlakuan sebagian besar responden tergolong kedalam PTSD Ringan, maka H1 diterima yang berarti ada pengaruh cognitive behavioral play therapy terhadap post trauma stress disorder pada anak korban banjir di kabupaten Tuban berdasarkan Uji Wilcoxon diperoleh nilai ρ = 0,004 (α < 0,05). The populasion of this research is all the student of SMA Negeri I Talibura where the sample of the research is the student of ten class mia which 51 student with is class of mia 1 and class mia II. The interpretation of the sample is using tehnigve. This research as aform , of transparant eksperiment type with the design. The tehinige of data collection sheert and test. This research using analysis data technigne,thent is normality test homogenenity test and t-test. Normality test data refers to the data tosttribube with normaly and homogenity that is the data is homogen. Based on hypothesis testing using the t-test shows that the value of tcount = 3.14, while ttable = 2.00. This shows that the value of tcount > ttable so that. it can be concluded that the audio visual media inflecaned to abblity of congnitive of the student of SMA Negeri I Talibura.

IntroductionThis study examined the relation between schizotypy and the encoding style in a sub-clinical sample. We evaluated, first, the level of schizotypy with the Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire (SPQB) (Raine and al, 1995). Three factors are evaluated a)cognitive-perceptual factor,b)b) interpersonal factor and disorganisation. For the encoding style, we use the Encoding Style Questionnaire (ESQ) (Lewicki, 2005). Two type of encoding process exist, the “hasty” (or internal, based on internal encoding schemata) versus conservative (or external, base on data from external stimuli) (Lewicki, 2005). Internal encoding style may contribute to the development of different psychopathological symptoms, like Paranoia, Anxiety disorders and Depression (Hill, Lewiski and Neubauer, 1991), because of the self-perpetuation of dysfunctional schemata.Participants and procedureA total of 184 students (113 women and 71 men) participated at this study. The mean age of the sample was 22,58 years (SD = 1,96). They were test using a French version of the ESQ, the brief SPQB, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) Scale.ResultsThe results demonstrated that we have a positive correlation between internal encoding style, schizotypy, depression and anxiety. Secondly, a high level of internal encoding style means a high level of congnitivo-perceptual and for interpersonal factors with an impact of depression and anxiety.ConclusionAn internal encoding style is link with a high score in schizotypy.

Abstract Background Hyperammonemia secondary to liver disease is a very common cause of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and it is easily recognized in patients with advanced liver disease. Non-cirrhotic causes of hyperammonemia are rare, particularly extrahepatic portosystemic venous shunts (EPS). The majority of these shunts are between a mesenteric vein and the inferior vena cava. We report a case of a non-cirrhotic hyperammonemia secondary to a shunt between the superior mesenteric vein (SMV) and the right renal vein (RRV) that presented with encephalopathy. Diagnosis was delayed due to lack of awareness of non-cirrhotic hyperammonemia underscoring the importance of measuring ammonia in all patients presenting with encephalopathic symptoms irrespective of their liver function. Aims To report our experience with a patient with unexplained cognitive dysfunction that was eventually attributed to hyperammonemia secondary to a rare non-cirrhotic portosystemic shunt. Also, we discuss the differential diagnoses of non-cirrhotic hyperammonemia and the pathophysiology, classification and diagnosis of spontaneous portosystemic shunts. Methods A retrospective chart review Results A 57-year-old woman with longstanding essential tremors on topiramate presented with a 30-month history of recurrent disabling episodes of unexplained “zoning out”. Her neurologists undertook extensive investigations which excluded primary neurological conditions. These episodes persisted despite discontinuation of topiramate, treatment of urinary tract infection (UTI) and continuing daily prophylactic antibiotics for recurrent UTIs as presumed etiologies. Due to her unexplained and disabling symptoms she was referred to an internist. During further evaluation, ammonia level was measured for first time, in the absence of any obvious features of chronic liver disease, and the level was strikingly elevated 152uml/l. Hence, an abdominal CT was obtained and revealed a prominent shunt between SMV and RRV. The patient was diagnosed with non-cirrhotic hyperammonemia secondary to EPS. She is currently stable on lactulose and rifaximin with a drop in her ammonia level to 63uml/l, and an interventional radiological procedure is being considered. Conclusions While hyperammonemia is most commonly related to liver failure, our case highlights the importance of awareness of non-cirrhotic hyperammonemia. Any unexplained change in level of consciousness, cognition and/or behavior merits measurement of serum ammonia irrespective of clinical liver status. Funding Agencies None

<p>Investigaciones regionales relacionadas como la equidad en el acceso a la educación universitaria aseguran que el tema se ha convertido en un reto para las instituciones de educación superior, no solo por la necesidad de configurar políticas equitativas sino por el deber de garantizar la persistencia del estudiante y la prosecusión de estudios una vez que ingresan a la institución. En algunos casos, se ha sacrificado la calidad de la educación superior a costa de la inclusión, a través de la expansión matricular obviando las tradicionales pruebas de selección basadas en competencias académicas, y sustituyéndolas por intereses vocacionales y de tipo congnitivo. Producto de la necesidad de garantizar la calidad educativa, surge el Ciclo de Iniciciación Universitaria (CIU) como un programa que combina competencias académicas necesarias para cursar estudios universitarios y aspectos personales considerados importantes para aprobar y persistir. La investigación consistió en identificar las metas académicas relacionadas con la persistencia estudiantil y el rendimiento académico de estudiantes del CIU de la Universidad Simón Bolívar. Participaron 205 estudiantes con edades entre 16 y 19 años. Se aplicó el Cuestionario de Metas Académicas de Hayamizu y Weiner (1991) y a través de dos análisis de regresión múltiple se identificó una relación positiva entre las metas de carácter extrínseco, la persistencia y el rendimiento. Se concluye reconociendo la importancia de lograr que el alumno se interese por aprender y no sólo por mejorar su desempeño o permanecer en la institución, pues ambas metas son necesarias y no son excluyentes para lograr calidad.<strong></strong></p>

Early bilingual education is increasing in popularity. lts most important added value is thought to be pronunciation (e.g. Ioup, 2008; Birdsong, 2006). This study investigates the influence of two Dutch primary school educational settings on L2 English pronunciation, investigating aspiration (a feature of the English but not the Dutch sound system) and prevoicing (a feature of only the Dutch sound system). In general,the L2 English pronunciation of the EarlyBird (experimental), the youngest learners who started learning English in the first grade, is more native-like than that of older learners in an EarlyBird Light setting, who started in the fifth grade (control). However, as expected from earlier research (Simon, 2009), in both groups the amount of prevoicing still increases over time. Possibly, the rather late development of prevoicing in LI Dutch affects the L2 English pronunciation. The influence of the LI on L2 English pronunciation is stronger for children in the control group, leading to the conclusion that the EarlyBird educational setting is promising. Birdsong, D. (2006).
