Chunduri, Roshan. "Preventing Accidental Overdoses by Innovating a Restrictive Prescription Pill Dispenser Vial (RPPDV)". International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology 9, n.º 10 (31 de octubre de 2021): 15131–1521. http://dx.doi.org/10.22214/ijraset.2021.38399.

Resumen
Abstract: Rather than attempting to prevent all overdoses, the Prescription Pill Dispenser Vial (RPPDV) aims to prevent accidental overdoses by controlling how many pills a user can access within a twenty-four hour period. The RPPDV is much like a traditional pill vial. The body is similar to a conventional pill vial; however, it is modified to prevent the cap's opening without a special screw. The cap is heavily modified and uses a CR2032 or CR2025 coin cell battery to power a gate and the unlocking of the pill cap. The RPPDV works first when the user clicks the red button on the cap of the RPPDV, which opens the pill gate and opens space into a pill container section. This section is large enough for only one pill (or two if multiple pills are required simultaneously). Once a tablet has entered the pill container section, the button must be pressed again to close the pill gate. The user cannot open the lid to the pill container section until the pill gate is closed (see Fig 1.4.1). The RPPDV is similar to an escrow service, with the pill holder section acting as a middleman. The size of the pill holder container prevents access to multiple pills at the same time. The number of times the user presses the button is recorded and timed with a 555 timer set for twenty-four hours. For example, if a drug has a maximum dose of three pills per day, the button could be capped at four cycles or eight total pushes (to allow a grace cycle if a tablet is broken or stuck). Similarly, the gate cannot be opened unless the lid to the pill container section is closed. The production price of the RPPDV is significantly higher than a traditional pill vial and can get higher depending on the additional features added to the RPPDV. The necessary components to function include CR2032 or CR2025 lithium batteries, a 555 timer, and a coin battery holder, along with plastic and metal molds. The base model alone produces an estimated average cost per unit of $1.33 USD (see Fig 4.2.1). Additional features include adding a Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) component to customize the number of unlocks per day and RFIDs for storage and tracking. Prices vary depending on the specifications of the RPPDV.

Resumen
In 1816 England officially abandoned bimetallism and made silver coins into tokens that were only limited legal tender. Earlier monetary authorities had lacked the ability to manage a subsidiary coinage, a necessary complement to the monometallic gold standard. A successful token coinage must be both costly to counterfeit and credibly backed to ensure that the tokens do not depreciate to their intrinsic value. These problems were solved in the nineteenth century through the introduction of steam-driven stamping presses and with the assistance of the Bank of England.

Resumen
In this paper, we describe an electromagnetic bulging for a SUS304-O stainless steel sheet (0.15 mm thick) and its experimental results. In the die forming, the flat one-turn coil is adopted for the bulging of the SUS304-O sheet, when an aluminum sheet (0.3 mm thick) as a driving plate (driver) is used together. When an impulse current from an energy-storing capacitor bank passes through the flat one-turn coil, a high-density magnetic flux is suddenly generated around the coil. Eddy currents are induced in the driver placed on the coil. The SUS304-O sheet is pressed by an electromagnetic force generated in the driver, leading to bulge into a meandering groove with small concave shape. The bank energy required for the bulging of 12mm wide, 60mm long and 0.43mm high is about 4.5 kJ, and the obtained workpiece does not almost have wrinkles and curves.

Resumen
Wireless power transfer technology via magnetic resonance coupling now has significant interest in industry and research with many applications. This paper proposes a linear multiple transmitter coil array (5 coils) for wireless power transfer for added gain and hence higher transfer efficiency in comparison to a single transmitter coil. The frequency splitting effect as a result of the coupling between the resonant transmitter coils due to their close proximity is shown to reduce the transfer efficiency to a receiver. The effect of the array spacing on splitting effect suppression is verified. It is shown that the splitting effect is sup-pressed as the distance between the coils is increased leading to a higher received signal and hence higher efficiency. Proposed horizontal displacement of the middle transmitter coils (2nd and 4th coils) in the coil array is shown to suppress frequency splitting. To further suppress the splitting effect due to the magnetic coupling between the transmitter coils, a multiple transmitter array is proposed with different coil turns. Thus it is shown that designing the multiple coil array with mixed number of coil turns (the 2nd and 4th coils are designed to have different number of turns as compared to the other three coils) causes uniform coupling among the coils reducing and eventually eliminating the splitting effect. Also to increase the efficiency at the receiver coil, displaced stacked coils are introduced on top of the coil array. The pro-posed stacked coil array is demonstrated to improve the transfer efficiency. Using the techniques, the proposed linear array structure achieves a transfer efficiency of 36.9% for a receiver coil at the boresight of the array at a transfer distance of 40 cm.

Purpose. An experimental verification of the existence of a range of values for the parameters of the capacitive energy storage of the magnetic-pulse installations with controlled vacuum discharger, in which, with a high probability, there is a «cut» of the discharge current pulses and the expansion of cylindrical thin-walled tubular workpieces using an external coil. Methodology. High voltage magnetic-pulse installation of NTU «KhPI» with controlled vacuum discharger, multiturn coil with inside dielectrical die and inside aluminum alloy workpiece are used. The capacitance and charge voltage of capacitive energy storage are changed. Discharge current pulses are measured by Rogowski coil and the oscillograph. Results. Parts of complicated shape are made by expansion of cylindrical tubular workpieces with help of external coil. Pressed metallic tubular part is removable from inner dielectric rod. Originality. The frequency of «cut» pulse is defined by negative magnetic field pressure amplitude. It is shown that we must coordinate this frequency and charge voltage with capacitive storage parameters by high probability of pulse «cut». Practical value. It is shown how to use installations with controlled vacuum dischargers in magnetic forming technology based on «cut» pulses.

The work deals with the design of a test equipment designed for fatigue testing of the cutter bed. The disk cam drives the rocker, which is pressed against the cam surface by the coil spring. The test drum (buchar) copies the movement of the rocker to generate the exciting force that is loaded by the bed of the milling cutter. Based on unmatched data, the Wohler curve will be determined. This article deals only with parts of the design station. In particular, the design of the cam will be discussed here.

Resumen
Introduction. Olbian dolphin proto-coins is one of the most common and simultaneously unique serial metalworks of the early antiquity period. The question of biological prototypes, which, according to different researchers, could be either fish or dolphins, remains debatable. The absence of species affiliation analysis of the dolphin-like depictions does not allow to give a clear answer to this question. Objective. Determination of zoological prototypes of dolphin protocoins by comparative anatomical analysis. Results. Among the 36 anatomical feautures that can be identified on the coins, 25 are inherent in fish, in particular 21 are specific for sturgeons and 19 for sharks, and only 9 clearly belong to dolphins. The presence and distinctiveness of the traits creates a variety of types of proto-coins, and the combination of feautures from fish and dolphins causes the depictions to look whimsical. Archaic and primitive proto-currency herewith have a fish prototype. Diagnostic features of fish on the coins: big eyes on the sides of the head, operculum, lateral line, two dorsal fins, pressed to the body pectoral fin, truncated caudal fin. Some feautures (hypertrophied elongated snout, dorsal fin being closer to caudal fin, scutes on the body, heterocercal caudal fin) correspond to sturgeons, others (gill slits, location and shape of dorsal and pectoral fins, heterocercal caudal fin) to sharks. Bulging forehead should be considered as direct proof of a dolphin prototype for the coins, while other traits are either overlaped by fish feautures, or their interpretation is subjective. Conclusions. 1. The multiplicity of types and forms of dolphin-like coins, which combines traits of dolphins and different species of fish, indicates an absence of a single prototype. 2. The majority of the traits on anepigraphic coins is native to fish. The prototypes are sturgeons and possibly sharks. 3. By combinations of features it is possible to distinguish sturgeon- and shark-type proto-coins. 4. Some creations have bizarre depictions. 5. Heavyweight dolphins - whimsical representations with features of sharks as well as possibly other fish and dolphins. 6. Epigraphical dolphins with an «АРІХО» inscription bear signs of fish, whilst smaller ones with «ΘΥ» are rather bizarre depictions. 7. Predominance of fish traits on archaic and primitive items proves the primacy of the image of the fish.

Abstract— Goal of this project is to complete five important tasks in the world of agriculture, including 1 – seed planting automation, 2 – weed plucking mechanism building, 3 – plough mechanism control, 4 – providing water where seed is sown, and 5 – soil leveling. All of these mechanisms are connected to a single moving mechanism, and the tasks listed above will be carried out in order. The entire apparatus is meant to be automated and controlled by a remote. The moving mechanism is controlled by a remote control unit that uses RF modules to move in all directions. Initially, this device must be positioned from the row's beginning point, where seeds will be sown one after the other with a predetermined spread. After placing the mechanism, the start button must be pressed, causing the mechanism to travel a short distance ahead before stopping to drop the seeds. After completing this task, the mechanism will be moved farther to supply the water. The mechanism will be halted for a short time while supplying water again, however the mechanism will continue to drop seeds and give water until the stop button is pressed. Keywords—Control keys, DC Motor, Ploughing mechanism, RF Module, Seed planting mechanism, Soil leveling mechanism, Solenoid coil, Vibrating Motor, Water delivering mechanism, Weed plucking mechanism.

Resumen
Coil embolization of oblong aneurysms is difficult because the majority of commercially available coils are manufactured with a helical or spherical tertiary structure. While adopting framing strategies for oblong aneurysms (aspect ratio ≥ 2: 1), traditional coils may be undersized in the long axis but oversized in the short axis, resulting in increased aneurysmal wall stress, risk of re-rupture, and difficulty creating a basket that respects the aneurysmal neck. We review three cases in which versatile filling coils (VFCs) were used as the initial coils for embolization of oblong aneurysms and report coil distribution characteristics and clinical outcomes. Packing density after VFC implantation was assessed using the software AngioSuite-Neuro edition and AngioCalc. Illustrative case: a 58-year-old woman experienced a subarachnoid hemorrhage from a ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm (7.5 mm × 3.5 mm). A 3–6 mm × 15 cm VFC was selected as the first coil because the flexibility of its wave-loop structure facilitates framing of an irregularly shaped aneurysm. The loop portions of the structures tend to be pressed to the extremes of the aneurysmal sac by the wave component. The VFC was introduced smoothly into the aneurysmal sac without catheter kickback. We were then able to insert detachable filling coils without any adjunctive technique and achieved complete occlusion. Complete occlusion without severe complications was achieved in all three cases in our study. Average packing density after the first coil was 15.63%. VFC coils may have a specific role in framing oblong aneurysms given their complex loop-wave design, allowing spacing of the coils at the dome and neck while keeping sac stress to a minimum.

Resumen
When studying the production of knowledge for policy, focus is typically on science that is being done and taken up. This paper looks at the other side of the coin: science that remains undone or unseen. We analyse sports policies through the prism of ‘agnotology’, using the case of anti-doping as a ‘regulatory science’ (Jasanoff, 2011). Theoretical framework Agnotology refers to social production of ignorance (Proctor, 2008). Science may be suppressed, or otherwise not undertaken, or remain invisible (Boudia & Henry, 2022). Ignorance can range from deliberate hindrance to structural impediments (power to put issues onto the research agenda; resource allocation). Framing matters in policy, since any problem representation manages complexity by simplifying, and leaving gaps (Bacchi, 2009). Undone science may reproduce social inequality structures (Boudia & Henry, 2022). Connections can be made with sociology frameworks, such as Bourdieu’s concepts of habitus and field theory (Bourdieu, 1976). Scientific habitus is an incarnated form of being a scientist, which shapes issue selection and treatment (Jeon, 2019). Scientists self-censor for their career; certain research areas, or methods, are frowned upon. Ignorance is intrinsic to the construction of science: some statements may never be fortified into facts, e.g. if no scientist takes them up or challenges them (Latour & Woolgar, 1976). Various typologies exist of how organisations react to ignorance (Boswell & Badenhoop, 2019: elucidation, denial, resignation), or keep uncomfortable knowledge at bay (Rayner, 2012: denial, dismissal, diversion and displacement). Research questions How is ignorance created or maintained in anti-doping science? Research emphasis and gaps: what is (not) researched? What issues/methods are favoured/considered invalid? Policy uptake: what research is made visible or kept invisible? What actors are influential in the process? Influence of structures and power: who is authorised to do science? What is the role of the the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and its regulatory framework? What strategies are developed in the face of ignorance? Methods i.) Analysis of the regulatory framework and other documents (Minutes of WADA Committees 2000-2022); ii.) semi-structured interviews with scientists (researchers with a record in publishing on doping related science) & decision-makers (officials at WADA & anti-doping organisations). We perform a content and discourse analysis, combining an inductive approach based on our experience in the field and the above frameworks. Preliminary Results The document analysis shows that scientists congregate into a community in which WADA authorizes who provide valid science. The most obvious aspect is accreditation by WADA of laboratories to perform doping analyses. Science predominantly involves these laboratories, based on their specialised expertise, but also privileged access to samples. WADA issues yearly research grants, selected through its expert committees. What science is then brought to the decision-making table also depends on WADA’s expert groups and science department. Through control of access to resources (samples, funding), coupled with regulation, WADA has a strong hold on the science produced. Next we identify, through interviews, specific areas of science that were/are unexplored or invisible, and can be furthered as case studies. References Bacchi, C. (2009). Resumen
This paper presents a magneto-rheological (MR) actuator that can be easily inserted into haptic shoes and can haptically simulate the material properties of the ground. To increase the resistive force of the proposed actuator, we designed a movable piston having multiple operation modes of MR fluids. Further, the design of a solenoid coil was optimized to maximize the resistive force in a limited-sized MR actuator. Simulations were conducted to predict the actuation performance and to show that the magnetic flux flows well by forming a closed loop in the proposed actuator. The quantitative evaluation of the proposed actuator was investigated by measuring the resistive force as a function of the input current and its pressed depth. From the result, we found that the proposed actuator can create over 600 N by adjusting the input current.

Resumen
The article focuses on clarifying the terms for the technology of “patch making”. The ambiguity in the use of some specific terms in the Russian archaeological literature prompted the author to attempt to systematize the terms that characterize this mode of pottery making. As a result, the following clarifications are proposed: 1) a patch as a construction element can be lumpy and coiled; 2) according to the methods of application, lumpy patch can be unsystematic, fan-shaped and ring-zonal, while coil patch making is most often spiral-shaped, ring-zonal or spiral-zonal one. The article provides a detailed substantiation of the author’s proposals. A stable connection between construction elements and the ways in which they are pressed up together often enables to do more rigorous and unambiguous definitions of the the technique of archaeological ceramics making.

Resumen
Safety concerns related to the use of potentially explosive, liquid organic electrolytes in commercial high-power lithium-ion batteries are constantly rising. One promising alternative is to use thermally stable ionic liquids (ILs) as conductive media, which are however, limited by low ionic conductivity at room temperature. This can be improved by adding fillers, such as silica or alumina nanoparticles (NPs), in the polymer matrix that hosts the IL. To maximize the effect of such NPs, they have to be uniformly dispersed in the matrix while keeping their size as small as possible. In this work, starting from a water dispersion of silica NPs, we present a novel method to incorporate silica NPs at the nanoscale level (<200 nm) into PVdF-HFP polymer clusters, which are then blended with the IL solution and hot-pressed to form separators suitable for battery applications. The effect of different amounts of silica in the polymer matrix on the ionic conductivity and cyclability of the separator is investigated. A membrane containing 10 wt.% of silica (with respect to the polymer) was shown to maximize the performance of the separator, with a room temperature ionic conductivity of of 1.22 mS cm − 1 . The assembled half-coin cell with LiFePO 4 and Li as the cathode and the anode exhibited a capacity retention of more than 80% at a current density of 2C and 60 ∘ C.

Resumen
Porous equiatomic Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) is a strong candidate material for bone engineering applications because its mechanical properties are within the range of bone and its porosity allows for biologic interlock of the material to the surrounding tissue. Self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) is one method for producing porous NiTi. Nickel and titanium powders, -325 mesh, were mixed for 24 hours then pressed into cylindrical pellets (0.5 inch diameter, 0.5 inch height) to a theoretical green density of approximately 53%. The pellets were preheated in flowing argon for one hour then ignited using a tungsten coil. Scanning electron microscopy and electron dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) show localized differences of stoichiometry suggesting variations in the crystal structure where the Ni to Ti atomic ratio varied between 48.5:51.5 and 50.7:49.3. X-ray diffraction (XRD) (Philips X’Pert PRO) confirmed the presence crystalline equiatomic NiTi as well as other intermetallic compounds including NiTi2 and Ni4Ti3. Nanoindentation (MTS Nano Indenter XP) of this heterogeneous material indicates a mean range indentation modulus of 89.6 ± 9.4 GPa. This is on the same order of magnitude as bone, which has an elastic modulus range of 14-20 GPa.

Resumen
Although piano playing is a highly skilled task, basic features of motor pattern generation may be shared across tasks involving fine movements, such as handling coins, fingering food, or using a touch screen. The scripted and sequential nature of piano playing offered the opportunity to quantify the neuromuscular basis of coarticulation, i.e., the manner in which the muscle activation for one sequential element is altered to facilitate production of the preceding and subsequent elements. Ten pianists were asked to play selected pieces with the right hand at a uniform tempo. Key-press times were recorded along with the electromyographic (EMG) activity from seven channels: thumb flexor and abductor muscles, a flexor for each finger, and the four-finger extensor muscle. For the thumb and index finger, principal components of EMG waveforms revealed highly consistent variations in the shape of the flexor bursts, depending on the type of sequence in which a particular central key press was embedded. For all digits, the duration of the central EMG burst scaled, along with slight variations across subjects in the duration of the interkeystroke intervals. Even within a narrow time frame (about 100 ms) centered on the central EMG burst, the exact balance of EMG amplitudes across multiple muscles depended on the nature of the preceding and subsequent key presses. This fails to support the idea of fixed burst patterns executed in sequential phases and instead provides evidence for neuromuscular coarticulation throughout the time course of a hand movement sequence.

Resumen
Given the rising upscaling trend in lithium-ion battery (LiB) production, there is a growing emphasis on the environmental and economic impacts alongside the high energy density demands. The cost and environmental impact of battery production primarily arise from the critical elements Ni, Co, and F. This drives the exploration of Ni-free and Co-free cathode alternatives such as LiMn2O4 (LMO) and LiFePO4 (LFP). However, the absence of Ni and Co results in reduced capacity and insufficient cyclic stability, particularly in the case of LMO due to Mn dissolution. To compensate for both low cathode capacitance and low cycle stability, we propose the GREENcell, a lithium cell combining a F-free polyisobutene (PIB) binder-based LMO cathode with a stabilized in -situ LiAL alloy anode. A LiAl alloy anode with the chemical composition of LiAl already shows a theoretical capacity of 993 Ah·kg−1. Therefore, it promises extraordinarily higher energy densities compared to a commercial graphite anode with a capacity of 372 Ah·kg−1. Following an iterative development process, different optimization strategies, especially those targeting the stability of the Al-based anode, were evaluated. During Al foil selection, foil purity and thickness could be identified as two of the dominant influencing parameters. A pressed-in stainless steel mesh provides both mechanical stability to the anode and facilitates alloy formation by breaking up the Al oxide layer beforehand. Additionally, a binder-stabilized Al oxide or silicate layer is pre-coated on the Al surface, posing as a SEI-precursor and ensuring a uniform liquid electrolyte distribution at the phase boundary. Employing a commercially available Si-containing Al alloy mitigated the mechanical degradation of the anode, yielding a favorable impact on long-term stability. The applicability of the novel optimized GREENcell is demonstrated using laboratory coin cells with LMO and LFP as the cathode. As a result, the functionality of the GREENcell was demonstrated for the first time, and thanks to the anode stabilization strategies, a capacity retention of >70% after 200 was achieved, representing an increase of 32.6% compared to the initial Al foil.

Resumen
Le, Tuong Huu, José V. Pardo, and Xiaoping Hu. 4 T-fMRI study of nonspatial shifting of selective attention: cerebellar and parietal contributions. J. Neurophysiol. 79: 1535–1548, 1998. Regional blood oxygenation in the cerebellum and posterior cerebral cortices was monitored with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) at four Tesla while 16 normal subjects performed three tasks with identical visual stimulation: fixation; attention focused upon either stimulus shape or color and sustained during blocks of trials (sustained attention); and rapid, serial shifts in attention between stimulus shape or color within blocks of trials (shifting attention). The stimuli were displayed centrally for 100 ms followed by a central fixation mark for 900 ms. Each stimulus was either a circle or a square displayed in either red or green. Attention shifting required switching between color and shape information after each target detection and occurred on average once every three seconds. Subjects pressed a response key upon detecting the target; reaction time and response accuracy were recorded. Two protocols for T2*-weighted echo-planar imaging were optimized, one with a surface coil for the cerebellum alone and the other with a volume coil for imaging both cerebellum and posterior brain structures (parietal, occipital, and part of temporal cortices). Because fMRI of the cerebellum is particularly susceptible to cardiac and respiratory fluctuations, novel techniques were applied to isolate brain activation signals from physiological noise. Functional activation maps were generated for contrasts of 1) sustained attention to color minus fixation; 2) sustained attention to shape minus fixation; and 3) shifting attention minus sustained attention (to color and shape; i.e., summed across blocks of trials). Consistent with the ease of these tasks, subjects performed with >80% accuracy during both sustained attention and shifting attention. Analysis of variance did not show significant differences in false alarms or true hits across either attentional condition. A subgroup of subjects whose performance data were recorded during ten minutes of continuous practice did not show significant changes over time. Both contrasts between the conditions of sustained attention to color or to shape as compared with the fixation condition showed significant bilateral activation in occipital and inferior temporal regions (Brodmann areas 18, 19, and 37). The anterior medial cerebellum was also significantly activated ipsilateral to the finger used for responding. The principal comparison of interest, the contrast between the condition of shifting attention and the condition of sustained attention produced significant and reproducible activation: lateral cerebellar hemisphere (ansiform lobule: Crus I Anterior and Crus I Posterior; left Crus I Posterior); cerebellar folium; posterior superior parietal lobule (R and L); and cuneus and precuneus (R and L).

Resumen
In the paper jewellery from sites and complexes of the Saltiv culture, which do not chronologically fit within the boundaries of its existence, is considered. The studied jewellery is typical for the hoards of Martynivka circle (group II, subgroup 1). It is represented by four burial complexes and one hoard. Dmytriivka cemetery was investigated by S. Pletneva. Two trapezoidal pendants ornamented with punched rows of dots on the edge from catacombs no. 151 and no. 154 (fig. 1A: 1). Items from the Khatskivskyi hoard, the Kovrai locality, and three finds from the Luchistoye burial ground are known with such an ornamentation system. In general, such pendants can be dated by the 5th—7th centuries (fig. 1). Sukha Homilsha cemetery 1 was investigated by V. Mikheev. Burial no. 54 contained a vorvorka (fig. 2). Burial date: late 8th—early 9th centuries. Analogies in size are presented in several hoards, in ornamentation — from the settlement of Kryvets 4. In general, these items are typical for the hoards of Martynivka circle, the second half of the 6th— the middle third quarter of the 7th centuries. Bochkove cemetery has been studied by O. Laptev since 2014. Grave no. 2 (fig. 3; 4) contained two trapezoidal pendants ornamented with four spherical protrusions and two rows of pressed dots along the edge (fig. 5; 6). Similar pendants are associated with the Penkivka monuments and hoards of the Martynivka circle. Myrna Dolyna hoard discovered in 2019. The complex includes: 1) blacksmith tools and several iron items (fig. 7: 1—11); 2) four screams (fig. 7: 12—15); 3) fragments of a bronze cauldron and a pair of phaleras (fig. 8); 4) heraldic belt decorations, including matrices and semi-finished products (fig. 9; 10); 5) Roman coins (fig. 11). Only six heraldic decorations (fig. 9: 1-3; 10: 1—3) are known among Slavic antiquities at the level of broad analogies. All the considered sites of the Saltiv culture with finds of jewellery from the Martynivka circle are concentrated in the Siverskyi Donets basin. Both individual finds and treasures are known here. In the upper reaches of the river, monuments of the Kolochyn culture are known, and below — of the Penkivka culture. The chronology of the complexes of the Dmytriivka cemetery and the Myrna Dolyna hoard can be determined within the general framework of the existence of culture. However, the chronology of burial no. 54 of the Sukha Homilsha-1, burial no. 2 of the Bochkove cemetery and the chronology of the Martynivka circle decorations differ by almost a century (table 1). Consequently, such adornments could be found by the inhabitants of the Khazar Khaganate and reused in everyday life or attire.

Resumen
One of the major differences between sodium- and lithium-ion batteries (SIBs and LIBs) is how the ions electrochemically react with graphite, where large amounts of lithium can be stored in the graphite galleries, but sodium cannot form thermodynamically stable, high capacity binary graphite intercalation compounds (b-GICs).[1] In 2014, however, it was discovered that graphite had a much greater capacity to reversibly store sodium-ions than previously thought – but only when using ether based electrolytes.[2] The increased storage capabilities in ether based electrolytes comes about by the formation of a ternary graphite intercalation compound (t-GIC), whereby the sodium-ion is intercalated along with it solvation shell. Thus, graphite can store solvated sodium-ions, but not bare ones. This unconventional mechanism is already known to occur for certain solvents, such as propylene carbonate, but was always thought to be accompanied by complete destruction of the graphite.[3] Since then, several studies have been conducted on electrochemical solvent co-intercalation for energy storage,[4] but the topic is still unexplored. Several fundamental questions have received quite conflicting answers – Especially with regards to the SEI and the reaction mechanism - the system displaying both clear staging in graphite, with at least one well defined plateau for stage I formation, but also large pseudocapacitive features. Following development on electrochemical double-layers and confined electrolytes,[5] it appears in systems where reversible electrochemical co-intercalation occurs the system will display both clear faradaic and non-faradaic properties. This is indeed what is seen, as the system offers a moderate amount of energy density, similar to batteries, while still being highly reversible and extremely fast, even at low temperatures, similar to capacitors.[6,7] Moreover, the reaction is tunable by altering the electrolyte composition - opening up for a great deal of exploration.[8] These properties, along with using abundant materials, makes the system applicable to problems where both the properties of capacitors and batteries are needed, such as in grid storage. This talk purport to summarize our research activity on electrochemical solvent co-intercalation phenomena, ranging from fundamental questions such as how to detect solvent co-intercalation, to the nature of the electrochemical reaction. We also present our work on using solvent co-intercalation in full cells, as well as a new type of battery where both the anode and cathode operate by a solvent co-intercalation mechanism – the solvent co-intercalation battery (CoIB).[9] References [1] O. Resumen
Matrix acidizing is a good stimulation process in which acid is introduced into the reservoir near the wellbore area via the wellbore or coil tubing. In the oil industry, formation damage is a prevalent problem. Bypassing wellbore damage by producing wormholes in carbonate reservoirs is the main purpose of acidizing the matrix of the formation. When doing lab tests, scientists are looking for a wormhole-inducing injection rate that can be used in the field. Meantime the ongoing works on the Ahdeb oil field's Mishrif reservoir, several reports have documented the difficulties encountered during stimulation operations, including high injection pressures that make it difficult to inject acid into the reservoir formation; and only a few acid jobs have been successful in Ahdeb oil wells, while the majority of the others have been failures; For this formation, there is a high incidence of oil well stimulation failed. This requires more study. Thus, in this work, we experimented to examine the effect of acid treatment on the petrophysical parameters of the Mishrif reservoir. The acid core-flood tests used seven core samples from a central Iraqi oil field.

Resumen
Lithium-Sulfur (Li-S) batteries stand out to be one of the most promising candidates to meet the current energy storage requirement, with its natural abundance of materials, high theoretical capacity of 1672 mAhg-1, high energy density of 2600 Whkg-1, and low cost and lower environmental impact. Sulfur itself (S8), Li2S2 and Li2S formed during the discharge process, are electrical insulators and hence reduce the active material utilization and the electronic conductivity of the cathode affecting the battery performance. Combining of Carbon Super P (SP) with sulfur in cathode formulation is used to overcome these issues. In Liquid electrolyte batteries, polysulfides formed while charging and discharging, easily dissolve in liquid electrolyte and the resulting polysulfide shuttling leads to poor coulombic efficiency and cyclability. Liquid electrolytes used in the conventional Li-S batteries are easy to flow and become flammable. Further, Lithium dendrites piercing through separator causing short circuit paths leads to safety concerns. Replacement of the liquid electrolyte by a solid-state electrolyte (SSE) proves to be a strategy to overcome above mentioned issues. Sulfide based solid electrolytes have received greater attention due to their higher ionic conductivity, compatible interface with sulfur-based cathodes, and lower grain boundary resistance. Novel Li6PS5F0.5Cl0.5 due to its remarkable ionic conductivity of 3.5 x 10-4 S cm-1 makes it an excellent candidate for use in a Li-S solid state battery. However, the interface between SSEs and cathodes has become a challenge to be addressed in all solid-state Li-S batteries due to the rigidity of the participating surfaces. A hybrid electrolyte containing of SSE coupled with a small amount of ionic liquid at the interface, has been employed to improve the interface contact of the SSE with the electrodes. Cathode formulation consisting of sulfur as the active material, Super P as the conductive carbon black, acetylene carbon black as conductive carbon additive, with water based carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) solution and Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) as the binder was successfully developed. Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) studies of the cathode were carried out by the thermo gravimetric analyzer TA 2050 under N2 gas flow of 100 ml/min. Cathode surface morphology was characterized using the Field emission gun scanning electron microscope (FEI), TESCAN scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX). Using a solvent-based process, Li6PS5F0.5Cl0.5 and Li6PS5F0.5Cl2 SSE were synthesized via the introduction of LiF into the argyrodite crystal structure, which enhances both the ionic conductivity and interface-stabilizing properties of the SSE. Relevant Ionic Liquids (IL) were prepared using Lithium bis(trifluoromethyl sulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) as salt, with premixed pyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethyl sulfonyl)imide (PYR) as solvent and 1,3-dioxolane (DOL) as diluent. SP-S cathode with 0.70 mgcm-2 sulfur loading was punched into disks of 2.0 cm2. SSE was pressed into 150 mg pellets using a stainless-steel tank. During the assembly, SSE was wetted with total of 40 μl of IL (LiTFSI dissolved in PYR and DOL solution) from both ends using a micropipette. 2032 type coin cells of Quasi-solid-state Li-S batteries (QSSLSB) consisting of SP-S based composite cathodes, Li anodes and novel Li6PS5F0.5Cl0.5 SSE were tested with an ionic liquid wetting both electrode-SSE interfaces. All the QSSLSB were cycled at 30 °C between 1.0 V and 2.8 V using an 8 channel Arbin battery testing system. Effect of IL dilution, co-solvent amount, LiTFSI concentration and C rate at which the batteries are tested, were systematically studied and optimized to develop a QSSLSB with higher capacity retention and cyclability. Optimum batteries had initial discharge capacity >1100 mAh/g and discharge capacity >400 mAh/g after 100 cycles at the C rate of C/10 with a significant coulombic efficiency. 40 μl of LiTFSI (2M) dissolved in PYR:DOL(1:1) IL was found to be optimum for high performance QSSEBs with low sulfur loading of 0.7 mg/cm2. From the C rate performance study QSSEBs have shown improved stability with the higher current rates. Next, cathodes with higher sulfur loading were studied and for sulfur loading > 4 mgcm-2, initial discharge capacity >950 mAh/g and 400 mAh/g after 60 cycles at C/20 rate were achieved with 40 μl of IL consisting of LiTFSI (3M) dissolved in PYR:DOL(1:3) for the SSE Li6PS5F0.5Cl2. Further testing is underway to improve the performance at high C rate for higher loading by incorporating SSE in the cathode to realize QSSLSB with higher capacity with improved cycle retention.

Resumen
In a classic small tokamak, the magnetic confinement is achieved by toroidal coils that fit into a donut-shape mechanical structure. To facilitate their handling and maintenance as well as the access to various auxiliaries components, their design has evolved toward a modular configuration. For such demountable design, it is important to guarantee the electrical continuity of the winding of the coil across the modular parts through electrical contacts. The resulting joints rely on pressure and specific materials to transfer high current densities at a good mechanical stability and manageable losses. In the present work, a prototype of a circular demountable toroidal field coil (CDTFC) was designed and built to test some technical choices to be used in the final coils of a table-top tokamak referred to as TPM-1U. For this small tokamak, the magnet wires to wind the toroidal coils should be able to handle large pulsed currents in the tens of thousands of Amperes whereas the coil joints should handle a peak current density of at least 75 kA/cm2. The case study here is the TPM-U1 table-top tokamak. Its conceptual design is recalled and mechanical and magnetic details of the demountable coil prototype are provided. For the experimental test, the contacts were slightly pressed using a custom-made contact assembly and current pulses between 4 kA and 8 kA were fedto the coil prototype. The degradation of the joint was visually estimated by assessing the amount of micro-melting, plastic deformation and oxidation appearing at the interface between the materials in contact. It is shown that the selected AWG-04 magnet wire is appropriate for carrying kiloAmpere range pulsed currents and that the CuBe contacts are able to withstand current densities larger than the specification, up to 263 kA/cm2, under low contact pressures of a few mega-Pascal simplifying their handling. Some technical choices have been probed on a prototype coil yielding a generic sequence of tasks to build and test mechanically and electromagnetically demountable coils and their joints.
