Texto completoThe current Phd thesis, titled "The Writer and The Child: a lifelong connection. A re-reading of the Classics of Children's Literature" explores the relationship between the authors of children's literature and the Child, meaning by that both the ‘young reader’ and the author’s own ‘inner child’. This peculiar relationship reconnects the adult to his childhood ‘for life', through fiction. In fiction, unlike in autobiographies, the author’s life is not revealed on the pages in the form of diary or testimony, but through made-up stories and an imagination very often specifically addressed to children. Adopting ‘Pedagogical Problematicism’ as an epistemological paradigm and through a qualitative, theoretical, literary and historical approach, the attempt of this thesis was to explore this tie, expressed at its best through some recurrent metaphors, systematically chosen by the authors: the metaphors of journey, flight, mischief and orphanhood, characterizing, not by chance, all of children’s classics. Children’s literature, a refined communicative universe full of complexity and ambiguities, also arises the ‘possibility’ for the child (both the reader and the Puer) to find in the adult writer and in his/her poetic view, an ally, something that doesn’t very easily happen in the everyday world, where children and adults stand on quite opposite sides and find it difficult to understand one another. The novels and authors chosen to develop this discourse are but a few examples, possibly the most emblematic and enigmatic ones, of this particular bond between author and child, an issue yet to be fully investigated.
CHIERICHETTI, VALENTINA. "L'ISTRUZIONE SECONDARIA CLASSICA NELLA MILANO DELLA RESTAURAZIONE. PROFESSORI, STUDENTI, DISCIPLINE. (1814-1851)". Doctoral thesis, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, 2011. http://hdl.handle.net/10280/1376.
Texto completoThe purpose of the thesis is to reconstruct the past of prestigious school institutes in Milan setting them in the social-cultural and educational history of their time. The grammar schools of Brera, St. Alessandro, St. Marta and the high schools of Porta Nuova and St. Alessandro are the subject of the rearch. The work shed lights on the didactics adopted in the institutes, on curricola and textbooks used during the Restoration. Moreover the research draws the teaching staff profile, reconstructs teachers’ career and, through the school registers, analyzes the social extraction, the place of birth, the age, the school behaviour and results of the students.
