Schmitt-Pantel, Pauline. "La cite au banquet : histoire des repas publics dans les cites grecques". Lyon 2, 1987. http://www.theses.fr/1987LYO20054.
Texto completoAfter a blood-sacrifice it was the custom of greek city communities to meet for a public meal. These public meals form the subject of the present study, which traces their history from the eight century b. C. To the fourth century a. D. : in archaic societies, in classical athens, and in the greek cities of the hellenistic and roman periods. The study will also concern itself with the way(s) in which greek discourse represented the public meals of other communities: their ancestors, and non-greek peoples. The sources used are various, consisting mainly of literary texts, iconography, archeology, and epigraphy - the relevant material in this last category being here assembled for the first time. The study is offered as an addition to existing research on greek sacrifice; as a contribution to the history of ancient practices relating to food; and as a reflection on the definition(s) of politics in greek cities

Texto completoLooking at families in greek cities from archaic to hellenistic times, i argue that they are based on integration mecanisms like sociability rituals. Daily little gestures as much as broad feasts build family life and introduce notions of 'familiarity'. They define the family identity and its inner and external limits, its boundaries. They contribute to place the family in its city, drawing relationships in between oikoi and city: family rituals of sociability provide families with a public and social display. Thus family and civic memories are complementary. Nevertheless, family, as a group of sociability, can be a place of 'counter-power' of the city cohesion; that explains wills expressed in some cities to reduce or supress expressions of family sociability

Texto completoProbably created in 16-13 b. C. , beatica was an intensively urbanized province, execpt any areas of the sierra morena. Under augustus agglomerations were generally independant cities with various status : coloniae and municipia romanorum, cities with ius latii which we don't know the title - municipium or civitas - and mainly peregrine cities. The measures of the flavians : grant of the ius latii and transformation of many peregrine cities, perhaps all, in municipia latinorum, was the mark of the romanization of the province begun more than two centuries ago : cities had roman rules and the native aristocraty became cives romani after their members had held local offices in the flavian municipia. Civitates' status and individuel stratus were not ever uniform after these reforms, but the province' society was homogeneous. In baetica latins bored the tria nomina and the inhabitants of the coloniae, municipia romanorum or latinorum had the same behaviour towards the gods, the emperor, their fellow-citizens and the goods. Indigeneous signs are very thin

Texto completoFour differents analyses concerning two novels : "the hope" by a. Malraux and "dfifting cities" by s. Tsirkas. The first analysis outlines "the personal myth" of the writers through their novel. The second studies the ideology of the writers through the architectural structure of these novels. The third examines the political history related in these two novels. The fourth points out certains concepts of these novels which preserve their cultural value nowadays. A research which tries to combine certains points of view peculiars to differents sectors of humans sciences : psychoanalysis, structuralism, political history and sociology, while the object fo the study is limited only to two novels
