The clearest account of the foundation of the Oblates of St. Charles can be gleaned from Henry Edward Manning’s submission of 1860 to Pope Pius IX in response to complaints raised against the Oblates in that year by Archbishop George Errington, Wiseman’s coadjutor, and the Westminster diocesan chapter. He writes as follows:In the year 1853, while I was still residing in the Accademia Ecclesiastica, His Em. Cardinal Wiseman, in a letter from the Vicar General, with a postscript in his own handwriting, desired that I should return to England, and participate in the formation of a Congregation of Oblates for the Diocese of Westminster.

Resumen
On 19 August 1897, a newly carved image of Our Lady of Walsingham, sent from Rome by Pope Leo XIII, was solemnly installed in the Roman Catholic Church in Kings Lynn. Since no plan of the original medieval shrine survived, the chapel that contained the image was modelled upon the Holy House of Loreto. The following day a pilgrimage led by the parish priest and by Fr Philip Fletcher, one of the prime movers behind the Marian revival, went from Lynn to the Slipper Chapel at Walsingham. This was an important focus of worship since it was the only building to have survived substantially intact near the great pilgrimage site destroyed at the Reformation. In 1934 the Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Bourne, led the first annual Roman Catholic pilgrimage to the Slipper Chapel, in which a new image of Our Lady of Walsingham based upon that of the seal of the medieval Priory had been placed. In the intervening years, the Anglo-Catholic vicar of Little Walsingham, the Revd Arthur Hope Patten, had created a similar shrine in the Anglican parish church in 1922, and had gone on in 1931 to build a separate chapel with its own sanctuary of the Holy House of Nazareth.

Resumen
From 1305 to 1378, the popes involved in 64 missions 40 cardinals (that is 26,7% of the members of the Sacred College of that period), either as legate (41%), or as legate and vicar general on the Papal States (7%), or only as nuncio (35%), excluding the vicars generals who were neither legate nor nuncio. In a (temporary) synthesis are studied the composition and the working of the legatine chanceries: the functions and the value of the chancellors, their relations with the judiciary court of the cardinal’s curia (audientia causarum curie); the various members of the chancery, notaries, secretaries, abbreviatores, scribes, registratores and all the familiares working in the „writing offices” of cardinals. On the other hand, the relations between the legatine chanceries and other chanceries (specially papal and royal ones) are observed in order to see their reciprocal influence and the effects on the development of the papal diplomacy. Two tables are proposed in appendix, a chronological table of all missions of these cardinals from 1305 to 1378 and a synthetic table of the members of the „writing offices” during legations and nunciatures or nor.

Resumen
The article surveys Medieval English nicknames and the derivative modern surnames carrying Christian associations through their motivation. Most commonly, these nicknames would originally refer to a clerical order or office (e.g. Clark < clerk) and then subsequently take the form of a patronymic (e.g. Vickerson < vicar). Some of these are properly occupational, designating the office itself (e.g. Prest) or the relation to people in holy or monastic orders: a familial (the name could be inherited by legitimate or, after the 12th c., illegitimate, children) or working one (e.g. Monkman). Alternatively, such nicknames are metaphoric denoting people that resembled priests, monks, etc. (e.g. Cardinal). A number of nicknames refer to diverse minor church offices like sexton and chanter, as well as religiously and socially marked people like palmer. There is also the type of metonymic nicknames that describe the conduct of the bearer in religious and moral terms, e.g. as pious or prayerful (e.g. Holyman). Less widespread but more varied are “event-nicknames” under which heading the author subsumes what is traditionally called pageant names, from the alleged roles in Medieval drama (e.g. Herod), and names deriving from church festivals (e.g. Christmas). Religious associations also appear in names derived from oaths and favourite phrases of the named persons (e.g. Godspeed). The array therefore puts on display a wide range of Medieval social roles and attitudes, and allows to speculate on their respective prominence. Parallels are drawn with Old Russian names and nicknames, and several alternative explanations or specifications for English nicknames are suggested. The article continues the series of publications devoted to the influence of Christianity on the English and, wider, Medieval European namegiving.

By legitimizing his children born of illicit relations, the Grand Cardinal of Spain wished to make them members of the Castilian nobility. Such was the case, for instance, with his first-born Rodrigo, first marquis of the Cenete and first count of El Cid, allegedly related, through the wishes of his parents, to Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, El Cid Campeador. By appropriating this fictional genealogy, the prelate endowed his entailed estate (mayorazgo) with a symbolism that earned him greater credibility through his deeds and actions, especially as the marquis matured and gained experience in the wars of Granada, the Italian campaign and the Germanías of Valencia. The object of this study is to outline a biographical profile of Rodrigo de Mendoza and establish parallels observed between his life and that of his alleged and eminent ancestor.

Amlapitta is one of the most common and familiar diseases of Annavaha srotas in the present era. In this modernized and competitive world, each person is living an unhealthy and stressful life. Materialistic lifestyles provoke people to run behind a busy and stressful schedule. The new lifestyles toward which modernized population gets attracted are far away from the dincharya, ratricharya, and ritucharya along with aahar vihar as suggested in samhitas which is necessity for a healthy life. These days people are easily attracted towards the junk foods along with huge changes in their dietary pattern leading to Amlapitta which itself is a very troublesome disease and can give rise to many serious complications if not treated in time. The cardinal features of amlapitta are avipaka (indigestion), hritakantha daha (heart and throat burn) and tikta- amlodgara(sour and bitter belching). Sign and symptoms of Amlapitta are in resemblance with gastritis, hyperacidity, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer, duodenal ulcer etc. modern text have different pathophysiology’s to aforementioned gastro-intestinal diseases. Whereas in ayurveda all of these can be solely studied under the concept of amlapitta. Compared to modern management, ayurvedic management of the disease is much bigger hope Hence, the main aim is to understand the concept and line of treatment in accordance with each disease representation

Resumen
Abstract The paper provides an annotated edition of the original copy of the last will by the mathematician, physicist, and astronomer Giovanni Alfonso Borelli (1608–1679), discovered among the papers of the Curia of the Cardinal Vicary, kept in the State Archives of Rome. Up until now, the document was known only through the incomplete copy guarded in the General Archives of the Piarists religious Order—Borelli’s sole heir—at the General House of San Pantaleo in Rome. The testament was found during the implementation of the Horizon 2020 Borelli Galaxy project (2018–2021, www.borgal.eu), aimed at editing a unified electronic catalogue of Borelli’s correspondence and to use his letters as a source of data suitable to map and chart Borelli’s overlapping intellectual, social, and political networks. The will is treated here as a “socio-text,” that is, as a freeze-frame of Borelli’s networks in his last years in Rome. By coding and processing—through the web infrastructure Nodegoat and the relational modes of analysis it provides—the interactions between Borelli and his heirs and legatees, as well as the interactions that occurred among his legatees outside this scope, the paper tries to reconstruct and visualize the social structure of this network, to single out Borelli’s place within that complex system, as well as to figure out its genesis. Compared with Borelli’s contemporary correspondence, this data also offers a glimpse into his later editorial choices.
