Texto completoBeyond their capacity limitations due to the transmission channels efects, nowadays, some embarked multimedia applications such as video telephony, broadband internet, etc., require ecient digital processing of the received signals. Turbo detection is a promising method to address these requirements. It allows exploiting all the available information at the receiver. However, its performance for the severe channels is highly dependent on the transmission parameter estimation. Its computational complexity is mainly due to the SISO modules. In this context, this thesis study the design and analysis of low complexity iterative receiver for the coded symbols over unknown fast fading multipath Rayleigh channels. In the first part of the thesis, we investigate the SISO turbo equalization for single user : we propose and analyze an iterative low complexity architecture, including equalization, decoding and channel estimation with its statistics. Using semi analytical tools, we explain the propagation efect on the turbo equalizer and justify the choice of modules realizing the best complexity/performance compromise. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the proposed architecture is efective in severe channel conditions where the impulse response and statistics are unknown to the receiver. In the second part, our research focuses on multi-user turbo detection for uplink asynchronous DS-CDMA systems. Two situations are considered. For the first one, the receiver has a single antenna. We propose and evaluate an iterative architecture involving lower complexity modules, handling multi-user detection, decoding and channels estimation. As for the second situation, we use the receiver diversity principle and we extend the proposed architecture modules to the multi antennas context. Simulation results showed that the proposed architecture eliminate almost all the interference caused by the channel without increasing significantly the required signal to noise ratio.

Texto completoThe work of this thesis deals with the equalization of the transmission channels for a single-carrier and multi-carrier modulation. In the context of equalization, we focus precisely on the blind equalization. First, we give a description of various elements constituting a communication chain, a description of different types of single-carrier modulations and a description of a multi-carrier modulation (OFDM). Then, we give an overview of the blind equalization methods for a single-carrier modulation. We propose subsequently a blind equalization algorithm in the presence of a bounded perturbation. Next, we provide stability and convergence analysis of the proposed method. In the context of multi-carrier modulation, we first present an overview of the blind equalization techniques for the OFDM system. Next, we adapt the proposed method for the OFDM system under multipath channels, especially the Raleigh and the Rice channels. Performance of the proposed algorithm have been illustrated in simulation by considering many examples throughout this thesis

Texto completoThis thesis aims to propose enhancements for the LoRa Internet of Things (IoT) standard in order to 1) improve thedemodulation performances in the presence of multi-path channels and 2) develop security mechanisms at the physical layer to strengthen the secrecy of communications. For the first line of contribution, a study of the impact of multi-path channels is conducted and a closed-form expression of the symbol error rate is derived. Capitalizing on this study, the enhanced LoRa RAKE receiver leveraging constructively the paths energy is proposed, for the realistic scenario of channel replicashaving delays close to the main path while taking into account synchronization. For the second line of contribution, the impact of traditional Band and Tone jammers on the LoRa demodulation is investigated and highlights the sub-optimal performances of such jammers. Then, a waveform self-jamming scheme is proposed, considerably reducing demodulation capabilities of interceptors thus further enhancing the secrecy of communications. The induced Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) by the scheme is analyzed and a mitigation technique is proposed. Finally, experiments on Software Defined Radio (SDR) equipment are achieved and demonstrate the sustainability of this self-jamming scheme

Texto completoIn the coming decades, highly accurate position information has the potential to create revolutionary applications in the social, medical, commercial and military areas. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology is considered as a potential candidate for enabling accurate localization capabilities through Time-of-Arrival (TOA) based ranging techniques. Over the past decade, chaotic signals have received significant attention due to a number of attractive features. Chaotic signals are aperiodic, deterministic, and random-like signals derived from nonlinear dynamical systems whose good autocorrelation, low cross-correlation and sensitivity to the initial conditions make them particularly suitable to ranging systems. In this thesis, two new multiuser TOA estimation algorithms are proposed with low complexity and robustness to MUI, the number of users supported by which is much larger than current multiuser TOA estimators. While, the use of classic spreading sequences and ranging pulse constrain the further improvement of ranging performance and system capacity. For breaking through the limit brought by the classic signals, the selected chaotic signals are employed as the spreading sequences or ranging pulse in our proposed algorithms. With the use of chaotic signals, our proposed algorithm not only obtains the additional improvement, but also with capability to support larger number of users comparing with its counterpart using classic signals

Texto completoThe aim of this PhD thesis is to investigate the usefulness of the wavelet theory for multicarrier modulation. An orthogonal base of functions could be built by the use of wavelet's packets and filter bank. Applied to a multicarrier communication system, this base reduces the sensitivity to the interferences introduced by the channel. This multicarrier modulation is called DWMT (Discrete Wavelet MultiTone). Its advantages and its disadvantages are specified and compared to the multicarrier currently used for wireless or wired high-data rate transmissions: the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Multiplexing Division) modulation. First, the sensitivity of DWMT modulation to narrow-band interference is considered. This modulation allows the use of waveforms which have a significant attenuation of their sidelobes and then are more robust to narrow-band interference. The simulation results show that multicarrier modulation using wavelet packet reduces the disturbances of a narrowband interference. For a multi-paths transmission, it is mainly the use of a cyclic prefix which gives to modulation OFDM interesting results in term of TEB. DWMT modulation outperfonns OFDM modulation when the cyclic prefix is not the solution used
