The development of degree profiles is an important art which has become quite specialized in recent years. This article concentrates on the analysis of the importance of the role of degree profiles in the design of degrees and, as a consequence, in Higher Education in general. It analyses, particularly, the work of the Tuning Project and its main processes in relation to profile building. It also gathers together and systematizes the specific contribution of four main components which should be taken into consideration at the time of the creation of new qualifications: two of the components relate to the analysis of social and professional needs and the future trends in the area. Both of these elements provide the relevance which a degree profile should strive to attain. The third component, the reference to the meta-profile, provides a capacity for recognition throughout an entire region and also in relation to the global context. The last element in profile development takes into consideration the university where the programme is anchored, its mission and strengths.

In modern conditions, individualization and optimization of training and additional professional education of a wide range of specialists are increasing in order to strengthen the “personnel base” and solve complex internal and external tasks. Individualized training involves: 1) selecting people according to the criteria of personal predisposition to this type of professional activity; 2) building an adequate system of external training influence within the framework of specialized training and training of personnel. Occupational health and medicine as disciplines and practical areas are faced with the task of using labor as a factor of health and self-development of a person, increasing his vitality, adaptability and professional longevity. The purpose of the study is to identify individual typological profiles, considering professional activity and age, for improving professional selection, development and support of various professions ‘ specializations.The sample included 389 people (average age–29.5±8.5 years), including 169 participants of the professional community “Institute for development of leaders” and 220 people-extreme specialists. Respondents belonged to the following professional profiles: administrative and managerial; information technology; research and security. The following methodological complex is used: o. SSS; o. TIPI; o. MMPI; o. Grasmika; o. BIS/BAS; o. EPQ; subjective scale for evaluating one’s own entrepreneurial skills.It was revealed that the combination of a high level of activation system aimed at obtaining additional new stimulation, risk propensity and low emotional stability was characteristic for persons of administrative and managerial profile. Individual and typological characteristics of the security profile were similar to the previous group, except for a lower educational level and pronounced egocentrism. Persons with an information and analytical profile of professional activity were characterized by a low level of activation system and emotional instability. They were prone to risk. Individuals of the research profile were characterized by low self-control, emotional instability when focusing on subjective criteria.The greatest information content of psychological variables was revealed for the age group from 16 to 21 years. Checking the predictive value of discriminant models, where the target variables were professional activity profiles, revealed the high quality of the model only when the subjects were assigned to the group of the security profile.The information content of diagnostics of individual typological characteristics for solving problems of predicting behavioral response and professional selection is confirmed. The characteristics of specialists in various professional profiles have predictive value in relation to the risk of disadaptation and decompensation when changing their employment status.

Present paper describes research data on the understanding of mentorship by modern youth at the initial stage of professional training. The process of collecting and analysing the results of the test of unfinished sentences to determine the definitions of «mentor» and «mentorship» is described. Sample includes 80 students of medical and economic profiles, aged 18–20. Data processing was carried out using content analysis and crosstabs. 11 categories were selected (5 for mentorship, 6 for the description of the mentor) and 35 subcategories. The concepts of «mentor» and «mentorship» are given. Results showed the important role of the institution of mentorship in the educational process. It is noted that the value of mentorship for modern youth lies in the possibility of obtaining support, gaining experience and knowledge, building constructive relationships. Differences in the understanding of the functions of mentorship between students of different educational profiles in four categories were identified: «Basis for defining the concept of mentorship», «The role of mentorship», «Mentor`s Functions» and «Mentor`s Roles». Medical students associate mentorship with an adaptive function, and economists with a developing one. Our study showed that successful mentorship is based on building and maintaining constructive interaction, building favourable relationships.

The main objectives in building professional learning communities are to improve teachers’ professionalism and well-being, and create positive impacts on student learning. It is a question of changing the school culture. The main objective of this quantitative study was to investigate the maturity level of thirteen Finnish schools as professional learning communities from the perspectives of school culture, leadership, teaching, and professional development. The participants’ perceptions indicated a culture of collegiality, trust and commitment as common strengths at all schools. The school cultures supported professional collaboration, and the teachers had the knowledge, skills and dispositions to engage in professional collaboration. The challenges were related to structural conditions, especially the lack of collaboration time. Three school profiles were identified in the cluster analysis from the viewpoint of maturity as professional learning communities. Statistically significant differences between the three clusters were found in organizational and operational characteristics.

Clinical tools available to clinicians working with autists are mostly geared to the child and adolescent population: providing early intervention therapies, building academic skills, resolving school age behavioral problems etc. Yet, with the first wave of those diagnosed during the recent “autism epidemics” reaching adulthood, and with advancement in age of those diagnosed earlier, there is an emerging need for new methods. Due to the neurodiversity movement and growing self-awareness of the autistic community, grown-up individuals with ASD rely notably less on the strictly behavioral tools and yearn for comprehensive, sensible strategies to address their complex social and emotional needs. This paper examines unique challenges of adulthood that autists face: e.g., finding an authentic professional self, building and maintaining relationships, all while dealing with additional challenges of their unique developmental profiles. It also discusses making choices of therapeutic techniques, and details benefits and rewards of play- and affect-based therapeutic work. Using DIRFloortime and mentalization strategies offers multiple opportunities for spontaneous, improvised psychotherapeutic contact in the context of unstructured playful intervention. Such work is aimed at building the unique support system for autists and for their families and partners. Case vignettes of adult clients with ASD are used.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to provide an in-depth insight on librarians’ use of the social networking site Facebook as a way to connect and promote interaction with library users. A series of common practices for building and maintaining a Facebook page for information professionals are thoroughly and critically presented. Design/methodology/approach – Two methods were employed for the purposes of this study. Specifically, a systematic review was adopted to identify all the relevant literature concerning librarian’s use of Facebook, and a content analysis of the literature to identify the specific Facebook features used, the way these were employed by librarians, and the reasons these specific features were chosen. Findings – In total, 12 Facebook features used by librarians in the literature were identified through content analysis. The creation of the librarian’s Facebook Profile was the most important featured employed followed by Groups Messages, Wall Posts, Events and Friends. Research limitations/implications – This study extents a literature review paper (Vassilakaki and Garoufallou, 2014). Therefore, only papers published between 2005 and 2012 and assigned to categories “librarians creating profiles on Facebook”, “Librarians personal experiences on Facebook” and “exploring librarians’ perspectives” were considered with the view to focus on librarians’ views and the way they use Facebook to connect with users. Originality/value – This study contributes in providing the baseline for creating a series of best practices for librarians use of Facebook for professional purposes. Furthermore, it provides a valuable insight on the specific ways information professionals use Facebook successfully.

The purpose of the article is to present a new approach to building a competency model for a specialist in library and information activities. Methods used in the work: analysis and generalization of the content of domestic and foreign sources on the problem of professional education.The article presents an analysis of the lists of competencies of the Federal State Educational Standard, opinions of specialists in the field of library and information activities, an approximate list of the scientific (academic) library specialist’s competencies, prepared in 2017 by employees of SPSL SB RAS at the request of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture representatives.It is concluded that, taking into account numerous discussions about FSES and the professional standard of a specialist in library and information activities, it is necessary to combine the efforts of representatives of the professional community for to achieve consensus in this area and update the existing regulatory framework. It is also advisable to consider the possibility of creating competency profiles that would form the basis for the above-mentioned documents and ensure interests of organizations providing training in the field of library and information activities and institutions-employers.Novelty. Complex approach is proposed to build a competency model for a specialist in library and information activities, based on integration of approved regulatory documents and employers’ requests: for each group of competencies the basic minimum should be determined (approved by the federal authorities responsible for the state supervision and ensuring compliance of requirements in composition of labor functions, knowledge and skills in approved documents) and the variable part, ensuring compliance of competencies being formed with particularities of libraries of various types (public, academic, special).This requires development of a regulatory framework in the field of library and information activities (updating existing and developing new documents). The proposed competency model correlates with regulatory documents.Practical significance: a competency model is proposed, within which educational organizations, institutions of the library and information sphere can jointly form an effective process for training specialists.

The article deals with the formation of entrepreneurial competencies by students in various educational programs, where entrepreneurial disciplines are not core. Under non-core areas in the framework of this article, we will agree to understand educational programs for undergraduate programs that are aimed at forming specialists in professions other than entrepreneurs, for example, the profiles of “Project Management”, “Finance and Credit”, “Sports Management”, “Event Management”, “Management in the hotel and Restaurant Business”, “Marketing”, “Civil law”, “Economic security” and others. This is a preparation for a specialty other than entrepreneurship, so the entrepreneurship competencies for these programs is a general professional one. Entrepreneurial education seems to be relevant for students in various areas and profiles of undergraduate studies. Entrepreneurship competencies is a general professional competencies for non-core areas, while it is possible to integrate it into the main educational program as a professional one. Students can open their own business in small and medium-sized businesses, initiate intra-company entrepreneurship. For systematic training, it is advisable to introduce a practice module for running your own startup with a connection to the infrastructure for entrepreneurship. This article is devoted to the solution of this problem – building a system for teaching entrepreneurship in non-core areas of bachelor’s degree, focused on the following goals: а) identify and describe competencies in the field of entrepreneurship for students of managerial, economic, in the future and other profiles of higher education; b) present a system of teaching entrepreneurship through a module of adapted academic disciplines from a proven set of courses in entrepreneurial education; c) identify the main topics of the courses included in the module, and the types of necessary training sessions that will allow you to achieve the required level of development of the proposed competencies. In this article, a team of authors who teach courses on entrepreneurship as core disciplines at Synergy University presents a vision and a general outline for building this direction and basic courses for non-core students, which will also be detailed in subsequent publications.

Being a foreign language and an intercultural educator in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context is full of complexities. With diverse sociocultural aspects in a context, it would be na�ve to implement a set of global profile of culture to all contexts. Therefore, the present study is held to start to investigate complexities on teacher individual level in the implementation of intercultural approach to EFL in Indonesian context. The study strives to interlink between the teacher belief and the characteristics of an intercultural teacher to indicate a teacher personal positioning toward the intercultural pedagogy. Through the method of narrative inquiry and narrative analysis, the teachers� narratives were collected by interviews and scrutinised. The study revealed that ambivalence and contradiction appeared in the teachers� beliefs about intercultural pedagogy. It has premises that a teacher�s positioning is affected by learning and teaching experiences, professional development, and personal experiences. Teaching context plays a central role in shaping the practices. The results show capacity building must be advocated and the identical studies must be replicated focusing on how a teacher develops intercultural communicative competence in order to bring quality of intercultural EFL pedagogy in Indonesia.

The construction sector plays an important role in the global economy since it generates approximately 10% of the world GDP and employs around 7% of the workforce. Professional profiles for building engineers and barriers they may encounter when accessing the labor market as well as in their career development in the sector are researched. Having identified some variables as relevant barriers, this empirical research is exploratory in nature and adopts a descriptive and inferential approach, in order to analyze the influence of gender in the perception of barriers in two Spanish universities. Results show more difficult working circumstances for women, which allows us to reflect on the consequences of these early perceptions on the career development of the next generation of both male and female building engineers.

Conjoint analysis is a method for estimating the relative importance of product attributes and utilities of different levels of a defined product. This research focused on finding out about the concerned attributes and preferable levels of professional badminton sportswear when purchasing and then building the preference models of seamless badminton sportswear. Two questionnaire surveys had been done in this research. Questionnaire I is the basis for getting the top ten attributes that target customers concerns when purchasing. Combined the top ten attributes with development direction, questionnaire II was designed for conjoint analysis study. Totally 20 respondents willing to buy professional badminton sportswear were asked to give his/her purchase intent score for 18 hypothetical product profiles derived from orthogonal design. As results of conjoint analysis study showed, the most preferred levels are light color, tight fitness, raglan sleeve, seamless-knit, good tactility, good moisture absorption and ￥299~400. The preference model of seamless badminton sportswear can be two kinds: relatively higher price and relatively lower price. They all have good cost performance and the relatively higher kind has good moisture absorption and good tactility, the relatively lower kind has preferable good moisture plus anti-bacteria and preferably tactility.

The pressure to reduce the environmental impacts of buildings over their lifetime has driven certification bodies and the government to require a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). However, LCA is a data-intensive and time-consuming process which complicates design activities, especially when performing a Whole Building LCA (WBLCA). Software tools can simplify the assessment by providing information more aligned with the users’ needs. This research surveyed 178 building designers who utilise WBLCA software as a decision-making tool. The aim was to identify patterns in the usage of the software and provide guidance to WBLCA software developers. For this purpose, statistical analyses identified the software preferences within each group of users, e.g., the users’ geographical location, professional background and years of WBLCA experience, among others. The results identified challenges faced by the construction industry, such as the need for more efficient communication among stakeholders. Therefore, attributes that allow designers to share information were rated as the most valuable. Two main groups of users were identified, and guidelines were drawn based on the profiles of the groups. Improving software support to designers will enable WBLCA to be integrated more efficiently with BPP by improving the users’ experience and their ability to make more informed decisions.

The article deals with the problem of rejuvenation of the staff potential in scientific organizations and higher educational institutions through the selection and motivation of talented young specialists to build their career trajectory in the field of science, high technology and higher education. The authors provide a detailed description of the target characteristics necessary for successful work in a creative environment. Based on original methods and building on the basic provisions of the theory of motivational complex work activities and use of the MMPI diagnostic test, they define the reference variant personality, and motivational profile of the scientist and compare it with the real profiles of undergraduate and graduate students wishing or not wishing to continue their graduate education with subsequent employment in a higher school or scientific organization. By logical comparison of the reference and real profiles, the article came to the paradoxical conclusion that people who are predisposed to scientific activity do not have aspirations to enter graduate school. Those who are professionally unfit for scientific activity, on the contrary, tend towards graduate school. Based on the analysis of the causes of this situation, a number of proposals for improving the system of professional selection and motivation of talented young professionals are formulated and justified. They are mainly related to the development of diagnostic tests for career guidance and the use of the postdoctoral institute. The authors suggest that the implementation of these proposals will contribute to the rejuvenation and strengthening of the human resources of higher educational institutions and scientific organizations in the Russian Federation.

The Autor describe a training orientation experience intended for fourth and fifth year of secondary school students aimed at promoting conscious access to the university world and facilitating the process of building their own professional prefigurations. These paths led by career advisors, experts in the world of work and guidance representatives involved 16 classes from four institutes for a total of 278 students. Each meeting was structured in two moments: a Photolangage workshop and a seminar, which consisted in making the experts in the field talk with the students of the schools participating in the guidance activity. The Photolangage workshop was followed by a moment dedicated to the meeting with experts from the world of training present in the territory, each of whom described their field of action. As it is written in the Guidelines, the guidance activity should also be done by those who have specific professional skills, who are outside the school and who can introduce the girls and boys to the world of work in order to promote the process of work inclusion. The experts in the area working in the field of education were asked to present to the students the professional profiles for the degree course: social educators, child educators and trainers. The experts called to converse with the students each represented different areas of education and social work: one coordinator of an educational service for children, two company trainers, two social planners. Each of the eight meetings included, at the beginning of the activity, the administration of a semi-structured questionnaire aimed at surveying the students' previous knowledge about the educator's field of action, the skills of this professional profile, as well as future aspirations and expectations with respect to the guidance experience.

Abstract This paper analyzes selected aspects of the use of video-tacheometric technology for inventorying and documenting geometric features of objects. Data was collected with the use of the video-tacheometer Topcon Image Station IS-3 and the professional camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II. During the field work and the development of data the following experiments have been performed: multiple determination of the camera interior orientation parameters and distortion parameters of five lenses with different focal lengths, reflectorless measurements of profiles for the elevation and inventory of decorative surface wall of the building of Warsaw Ballet School. During the research the process of acquiring and integrating video-tacheometric data was analysed as well as the process of combining “point cloud” acquired by using video-tacheometer in the scanning process with independent photographs taken by a digital camera. On the basis of tests performed, utility of the use of video-tacheometric technology in geodetic surveys of geometrical features of buildings has been established.

Physical inactivity (PI) and sedentary behaviours constitute a global health problem that has negative consequences for health and is also considered the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality. A European project named ‘Professional and Personal Experience through Lifelong Learning and Regular Sport’ aims to encourage voluntary participation in sporting activities to achieve its benefits on health. First, a report will be carried out on the effects of physical activity (PA) or inactivity on health, which is often linked to school failure, obesity, self-esteem, etc. The data will be obtained through a completely anonymous online sport and health questionnaire, addressed to all profiles. The data collected through this survey will serve as a basis for understanding the reality of Europeans in terms of quality of life, demographics, physical fitness, and other factors. It is also intended to design a handbook with recommendations for improving health holistically through PA. Finally, the goal is to translate this project into a teaching system for sports professionals, so that they can transfer this knowledge as educational methods to improve people’s health, while adapting it to the particularities of each country, i.e., to provide these sports professionals with tools to train other people.

In modern society, the issue of quality assurance by higher education institutions is of particular importance. One of the aspects of the internal quality assurance system is to monitor the level of professional competence of teachers, ensuring openness, transparency of evaluation indicators. In their turn, indicators of research activities of teachers, such as citations in scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar directly affect the ranking of higher education institutions in international and Ukrainian rankings. Therefore, the issue of formation and implementation of systems for the analysis of professional activity of teachers, in particular research, which allow monitoring and evaluation of key performance indicators of research activities of academic staff, is particularly relevant. The paper analyzes the experience of Ukrainian and foreign universities in implementing systems for presenting the professional activities of teachers, analyzing the research activities of academic staff and building ratings of professional and research activities. Modern higher education institutions use various technologies to present the professional activities of teachers in the public domain - Wiki technology, published pages on official websites and developed information systems. The main indicators used in rating the effectiveness of research activities are citation indicators in scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar - citation value, number of documents, h-index, i10-index, therefore, for high-quality presentation of research results in rankings it is important to ensure the visibility of scientific publications - the use of Open Journal Systems, placement of publications in open institutional repositories, electronic libraries, updating profiles of scientists in scientometric and bibliometric databases to update citation indices, etc.

<p>The main objective of this study is to explore the extent of teachers’ readiness in anticipating the demands of 21<sup>st</sup> century skills and science teaching pedagogy practice. A quantitative survey-descriptive method employed in this study. The sample consists of 120 public primary school teachers in Pontianak. A five responses Likert scale questionnaire comprises 37 items was administered. Data were analysed by using descriptive statistical analysis, the independent <em>t</em>-test, and the extent of readiness was interpreted according to the interval of the overall average score. Based on data analysis, it is found that the total profile of “never and seldom” teachers’ responses is 9.2%, the “often and always” is 20.0%, and “sometimes” is 70.8%. There is no total means score difference between experienced and novice teachers’ performance (<em>t</em> = 0.887, p > 0.05). Moreover, the barrier factors the teachers faced in schools could be categorized as professional development, personal, institutional, and technological factor. This study concluded that the readiness of public primary school teachers in Pontianak in implementing the 21<sup>st</sup> century skills and science teaching pedagogy is an insufficient category. In-service teacher training for ICT integration should be directed toward building teachers’ skills and competencies in science pedagogical practices.</p>

This study aims to examine retirement wealth adequacy based on the underlying structure of households’ attributes from Household Expenses and Income Survey 2014 (HEIS14) data. In specific, the two-step cluster analysis is carried out to build the profiles that will be used to compute retirement wealth adequacy. In general, the data that contains both numerical and categorical variables do not suit well for pure hierarchical and non-hierarchical cluster analysis. To counter this issue, the twostep cluster analysis employs log-likelihood function to measure the distance between two clusters, where the numerical variables are assumed to follow a normal distribution, meanwhile categorical variables are assumed to follow the multinomial distribution. We have used Schwarz’s Bayesian Criterion (BIC) and Akaike’s Information Criterion (AIC) to determine the number of clusters to be formed. In addition, we employed a Silhouette measure of cohesion and separation to examine the overall goodness-of-fit. The analysis successfully generated a solution of three clusters. The first cluster represents households with the majority of SPM holders, receiving an average gross monthly salary of RM 5058.73 and working in the private sector. The second cluster represents households with the majority of diploma holder/professional certificate, receiving an average gross monthly salary of RM 10154.06 and most of them (92%) working in the private sector. The third cluster represents households who work in the public sector with an average gross monthly salary of RM 7185.74. From the microsimulation process, the results show that 51% of households in Cluster 1 have adequate retirement wealth, while only 13% of households in Cluster 3 have adequate retirement wealth.

Purpose The identification and development of appropriate competencies remain very critical and central to performance measures in mainstream human resource management genre towards effective teams. It is posited as a viable means for validating and engendering best practices and developing suitable competencies towards acceptable performance outcome in construction project delivery. The purpose of this paper is to identify the critical professional competencies of an architect in the Ghanaian construction industry (GCI) towards effective performance in the construction project delivery. Design/methodology/approach From a mixed method design involving semi-structured qualitative interview and a questionnaire survey of architects in Ghana, 16 professional architectural competencies were identified for respondents to indicate their importance to effective architectural practice and consulting in the GCI on a five-point Likert scale. Factor analysis was used to explore the interrelations among the variables and make possible empirical explanations. Findings Factor analysis revealed four underlying clusters named in order of their significance as efficient design response to client needs, legal aspects of practice, sustainable design and construction and efficient project management skills. The study provides insight into the contextual practice, characteristics and the critical professional architectural competencies needed by architects in the construction industry in Ghana. Originality/value The findings have rigorously revealed and provided clear understanding and insight into the thematic critical professional competencies of architects important to the construction industry in Ghana which should be the focus of architectural training and practice. It is also very important towards developing and stimulating a continuous professional development agenda, developing a body of knowledge of professional practice in architecture and conducting curriculum review to meet current emerging competency profiles necessary for influencing performance levels in the GCI.

In the process of work on the problem the system method, methods of economic and comparative analysis, methods of strategic, long-term and operational management were used.The scientific significance of the research results lies in the substantiation of a number of methodological recommendations for the formation of tools for the use of information technology to improve the quality of training of young professionals. Digital skills are the driving forces for innovative, inclusive and sustainable growth through innovations and digitalization which in turn stimulate job creation, alleviate poverty, reducing inequality, facilitating the delivery of goods and services. However, large number of graduates is shown to be weak in digital skills in the industry hence affect their employability including self-employment. Recently, the Technical Higher Education Institutions (THEIs) took some initiatives to instill the digital skills to their respective students. This study therefore assessed the level of competence of digital skills among graduates following the initiatives taken by the THEIs and their influence on self-employment. It specifically identified the digital skills and ranking the digital skills acquired by the graduates when in the THEIs. It likewise established relationship between digital skills and self-employment among the graduates. The data were collected using a questionnaire from 500 graduates sampled through a stratified random sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using Descriptive Statistics and Chi-square. The findings show that, the surveyed graduates acquired basic digital skills (i.e. creating professional online profiles, word processing, using keyboards and touch-screens, managing privacy settings, emails) to the large extent (53%); intermediate digital skills (i.e. desktop publishing, digital graphic design, digital marketing) to the small extent (52%) and advanced digital skills (i.e. big data, artificial intelligence, digital entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, internet of things, virtual reality) to the very small extent (54%) when in the college/university. Furthermore, intermediate and advanced digital skills were ranked higher as digital skills for self-employment by the graduates. All three digital skills were found positive and significant for self-employment among the graduates in Tanzania. The study recommends that, the colleges, institutes and universities should emphatically inculcate all the digital skills to the students as they are both significant for self-employment of their respective graduates.

It is established that the current state of extracurricular education development is based on the spiritual experience of generations and the idea of ‘child-centeredness,’ aimed at the development of scientific and technical creativity in the global context. The significance and semantic peculiarity of the group work on technical modeling as the link that is decisive for the pupils’ further choice of the profile of education and primary pre-professional orientation is substantiated. The best experience of out-of-school education institutions, the uniqueness of their structure, and the importance of highly qualified staff are considered; some regional features and specifics of the organization of scientific and technical creativity in the activity of out-of-school educational institutions are found out. The principles of coordination of activity of institutions of a scientific and technical direction, bases of realization of educational partnership at the level of the country in the form of carrying out of organizational and mass actions on various profiles of activity are outlined; the new course of reforming out-of-school educational institutions is focused on building internal quality assurance of educational services through structure, indicators, and criteria.

To be adequately nourished, individuals need to have access to sufficient and good quality food. They also need to have an understanding of what constitutes a good diet for health, and have the skills and motivation to make good food choices. Nutrition education equips people to make such choices. Building countries’ capacities to provide effective nutrition education and promote healthy diets is part of the work carried out by the Nutrition Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. The FAO Effective Education for Nutrition in Action (ENACT) project is assisting countries to develop institutional and professional capacities in nutrition education in Africa by producing a basic module on nutrition education at undergraduate level for use by national universities and other training institutions. The course materials will be available for online, face-to-face or blended use and are being piloted and revised to improve and adapt them to local context and consumer need. Creating a learner profile is an accepted step in course design, particularly important in situations where course developers do not have close contact with the students, as in this case. The ENACT learner profile was compiled from replies to a short questionnaire of 32 questions administered to a sample of students. The respondents were the actual piloting students, or were representative of those who would be piloting the course. One hundred and twenty eight responses were received from universities in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda, approximately 20 per university. On average, respondents answered 96% of the questions in the questionnaire. Information was obtained on areas such as students’ social/cultural interests; food and nutrition experience and expertise; food and eating habits; ideas of nutrition education and training in nutrition education; and study preferences. In addition, the profile of a typical learner in each country (including age, gender and information on socio-economic background, urban/rural background and English proficiency) was compiled from the questionnaires and from additional information supplied by the tutors. The study findings have helped the course developers to select course content and structure learning activities to meet students’ needs and circumstances.

Introduction. The upcoming digitalization has a peculiar effect on the purposefulness of students' behavior, ensuring the transition to a new stage in the development of a postindustrial society. Social norms, values, and value orientations are subject to change. All this is formed into a new group of student digital values, which are shaped differently among students of various professional training profiles. These new phenomena involve the search for new methodological and methodological approaches to conducting empirical sociological research, the search for relevant approaches to measuring the digital values of students of various training profiles, and identifying special characteristics and meaningful features of these values.Methodology and sources. The research methodology is mixed, and is based on provisions about values and their specific forms of manifestation, particularly digital values (M. Weber, F. Znanetsky, T. Parsons, E. Durkheim, A. Toffler). The digital society is a new perspective, the nature of which is inconsistently consistent with some of the principles of the traditional approach to the study of values that have developed in theoretical concepts earlier. The concepts of modern authors were used, such as M. Tomasello, F. Warneken, R. Hogan, B.W. Roberts, E.F. Zeer, R. Kadakal, and Nguyen Hoang Huu. Results and discussion.The methodological approaches to the study of the values of the digital society as an object of study are generalized, in particular, the relevance of the system approach. The differences between the study of traditional values and the values of the digital society are shown, as a result of the analysis of which the accumulation of human capital by students with special (digital) characteristics could be considered as a main value of the digital society. Under these conditions, students of the humanitarian direction (journalists, sociologists) more often define for themselves value-goals as the most important values, and programming students define value-means as such. Conclusion. The study used a systematic approach to building a methodology for diagnosing digital values, which allows identifying the main value preferences of students of various training profiles. It is concluded that students of different training profiles understand the digital society differently, which implies different methodological approaches to the study and diagnosis of these values.

The problem and the aim. A teacher of a digital school, according to the requirements of the standard of professional activity, must possess such universal qualities related to information and communication technologies, formed communicative competence, the ability to work in a team. The formation of the relevant skills within the framework of university education is complicated by a number of problems of a different nature. The authors suggest to improving the training of future teachers to organize practical activities for the development of didactic games integrating computer-free and digital elements. The authors suggest organizing a practice of designing a system of specially selected tasks to improve the training of future teachers of a digital school. Research methods. Gamification is used both as a technology for acquiring new knowledge and as a technology for team building. The method of team activity is used to development of didactic games. The pedagogical experiment involved 60 students of specialty 44.03.01 Pedagogical education (two training profiles, magister's degree level), Vyatka State University (Russian Federation). To assess team effectiveness the methodology of Lora Stack (five levels of team building) was chosen. The criterion χ2-Pearson was used as a statistical processing method. The assessment of the quality of educational results out using the author's testing of 50 tasks ("credited"/ "not credited") was carried. Statistical verification of the obtained results was made using Fisher's criterion. Results. Students of the experimental group were involved in teamwork on educational games: studied basic mechanics in didactic games; mastered interactive services; developed their own project, including both computer-free and digital elements. Statistically significant differences in the qualitative changes of the system by the levels of formation of teamwork skills, χ2emp 2 > χ2crit0.05 (10,244 > 9,488), were revealed. Statistically significant differences by the quality of professional training (φcrit=1,64<φemp=2,401), were found. In conclusion formulates the problematic questions, the answers to which allow us to determine the directions of the team's work on the development of didactic games: discussion of the purpose of the game and the gaming goal, the choice of basic mechanics and emerging competencies, the definition of rules and resources, etc.

Competent use of employee potential and activation of unused knowledge and abilities has a positive impact on the personnel as a whole. The subject of the research is presented as managerial, socio-economic relations that arise in the process of developing and implementing a set of measures to manage the personnel potential in the management system of a medical organization. The goals outlined in the work require theoretical substantiation and development of recommendations for optimizing the mechanism for managing the personnel potential in medical organizations. The authors have developed a set of measures to manage the element of personnel potential (the experience of the personnel of a medical organization), which is based on the use of marketing tools, including building a profile of an internal client (employee of an organization), analyzing the employee’s life cycle, an internal marketing strategy connected with motivation, involvement and loyalty of the personnel. The proposed scope of application refers to the fact that the developed methodological recommendations and indicators can be used in all medical organizations to assess the system of personnel potential management. On the grounds of such an assessment, a conclusion can be made about the advisability of correcting certain career planning activities or about revising the entire system of personnel development managing. In conclusion, the authors evaluated the effectiveness of the recommended measures that will help manage human resources through the profiles, experience and involvement of employees, what would allow the heads of medical organizations to build an effective strategy for managing medical personnel, and as a result, improve the efficiency and work of organizations as a whole.

Professional identity (PI) is of great relevance to these goals as persons who strongly identify with their profession better adopt their professional role, raising the quality, competence and common values within a professional group. However, investigations on the HP workforce are missing. In order to investigate PI formation in HP professionals, a longitudinal study was conducted with two student cohorts of a Swiss HP and prevention undergraduate program. Using a qualitative approach, focus groups were conducted at the beginning and end of the undergraduate program. Data were transcribed verbatim and condensed using thematic analysis. The results highlight the complexity of the HP’s professional profile. While students experienced difficulties to capture the profile at the beginning of the program, at the end they developed an understanding of it. The practical experience within work placements helped students to grasp the profile and specify their future professional role. Several behavioral, cognitive and motivational aspects were identified that influence HP students’ PI formation and can be fostered. For instance, universities can commit to public relations for HP practitioners and support the PI formation throughout the study program.

In the next seven years, the Russian economy will have to switch to digital technology and digital product. The purpose of the article is to establish general recommendations to develop and implement digital competencies. The subject of the research is the set of necessary digital competencies and their ranking. To make it easier for people to adapt to the digital economy, the authors of the article conducted a survey among the chief executives of leading enterprises in Nizhnevartovsk to predict which digital competencies need to be taken into account in professional training. In addition, the research revealed additional features that a person should possess, e.g. the information consumption culture and decisiveness. The modern Russian professional education framework is setting a new educational paradigm for students and lifelong learning. This includes fundamental changes in the professional objectives of higher education. Therefore, the training must adapt to the new contextual requirements. The article provides reflections on building a profile of digital competencies for areas of higher education training that correspond to the current context and new scenario, including those that are a cross-cutting axis for other professional competencies that become relevant in the educational domain. Our research and analysis revealed areas for the further development of digital competencies, as well as three basic principles that are crucial for the successful design and advancement of new programmes in professional education. Standardized mass education in the field of digital economy is no longer relevant. Now taxonomy defines the skills that need to be included into the digital economy through a wide range of professions. This article provides a new insight into the role of competence transition from education to the labor market. To understand today’s demand for new skills and elaborate on how it might change over the next 5-10 years, we recruited employers to identify the competencies that they consider essential.

Abstract: In the last ten years, the Brazilian government has made efforts to build an economic policy that promotes growth and has lead the country to be amongst the world's largest economies. However, such goals highlight the capitalist model of production and consumption while aggravating environmental conflicts faced in recent decades. In the first decade of the 2000s, in an attempt to reconcile economic growth and environmental sustainability, Brazilian universities began implementing training courses in environmental management with the purpose of forming a new class of managers to take the role of decision makers in management processes. With 200 higher education courses in Environmental Management, 10 Bachelor degree programs and 190 technical courses, Brazil stands as an example for the design of such programs. This study presents the process of building a methodology for the evaluation of educational projects of these Environmental Management Bachelor degree programs based on qualitative content analysis using social context, professional profiles and student assessment. Such methodology will be developed as part of a later study which aims to define the profile of Brazilian Bachelor degree programs in Environmental Management and point out ways to build curriculum guidelines.

Resumo: O governo brasileiro tem realizado esforços para construir uma política econômica que proporcione crescimento de modo a incluir o país entre os maiores produtores e consumidores mundiais. Tais metas realçam o modelo capitalista de produção e de consumo que agrava os conflitos socioambientais enfrentados nas últimas décadas. Como tentativa de conciliação entre crescimento econômico e sustentabilidade as universidades brasileiras iniciaram, na primeira década dos anos 2000, cursos de formação em Gestão Ambiental – GA, com objetivo de formar uma nova classe de gestores para assumirem o papel de tomadores de decisões nos processos gerenciais. Atualmente, o Brasil conta com 200 cursos superiores em GA, sendo 190 tecnológicos e 10 bacharelados. Na perspectiva de traçar o perfil dos cursos de bacharelado em GA no Brasil e apontar caminhos para a construção de Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais dos cursos em tela, este estudo apresenta o processo de construção de uma metodologia para a avaliação dos projetos político-pedagógicos dos cursos de bacharelado em GA oferecidos no Brasil, baseado na análise de conteúdo qualitativa a partir: do contexto social, dos objetivos, do perfil profissional, dos componentes curriculares e dos processos de avaliação adotados nos cursos.

The object of the paper is the socio-technological system of an organization. The study aims to identify the key elements of this system, and the main relationships between them, determining their impact on the competitiveness of the organization. The authors use the following research methods: systematic and comparative approaches, as well as structural and statistical analysis of enterprise data. According to the research results in organizations of various types of economic activity in St. Petersburg, 5 main groups of elements that have the greatest impact on the competitiveness of the organization were identified, characterized, and classified. The first group includes technical elements (machines, devices, equipment, tools, and fixtures), the second group includes technological elements (algorithm of actions for diagnosing or changing the state of the object of labor, methods, and means of production, provision of services, management), the third group – social elements of the internal environment (personnel competencies, motivational and value attitudes of employees, the organizational structure of management, functional relationships, and rational distribution of functions), the fourth group – social elements of the external environment (public social institutions, competing organizations, and partner organizations), and the fifth group – information technology and communication systems. The authors conclude that digitalization is one of the most significant drivers of the transformation of the sociotechnological system since it has a strong impact on the social elements of the internal environment of the organization and on the elements of the technological group. The consequences of this influence entail changes in the professional competencies of employees, a reduction in the number of employees and the time spent on performing many labor functions, improving the quality and accuracy of work in many areas, contributing to building direct links between suppliers and consumers, allowing new forms of employment in the organization (flexible working hours, remote employment, the use of freelancers). The results obtained can be used by companies of various profiles in the development of corporate programs to improve their competitiveness.

Background/aims Emotional intelligence enables recognition, understanding and management of emotions of self and others, supporting development of communication, relationship building and engagement skills. The application of emotional intelligence supports technical and non-technical competence, facilitating confidence, leadership and capability in the workplace. This study profiles trait emotional intelligence in a sample of UK occupational therapists and explores its relationships with a range of demographic and self-rated job satisfaction variables. Methods A UK-wide online survey of occupational therapists was carried out, which included the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (Short Form). A total of 808 participants responded. Three main analyses investigated differences between the occupational sample and wider population, the subgroups (gender and work role), as well as the relationships between emotional intelligence and demographic and job satisfaction variables. Results Analyses highlighted that occupational therapists scored higher than the population norms for global emotional intelligence and on each of the four subfactors. Within the study sample, a significant gender difference was observed for emotionality (lower among men); self-control was significantly correlated with age and years since qualification. Increased satisfaction in the job scores were consistently and strongly associated with emotional intelligence scores. Salary band was positively associated with emotional intelligence. Conclusions: The findings consider the potential impact of emotional intelligence levels on performance and leadership, vital in today's climate of emerging practice and less traditional roles for occupational therapists. This study has shown that occupational therapists scored higher than the population norms for Global emotional intelligence and on each of the four emotional intelligence subfactors. Emotional intelligence abilities are associated with perceived competence of the occupational therapist, with implications for job satisfaction and wellbeing. Understanding and using the emotions of self and others to inform thinking and behaviour undoubtedly influences practitioner effectiveness. Future research is required to extrapolate the influence of Trait Emotional Intelligence upon professional abilities, increasing understanding of emotional intelligence and its impact upon effective occupational therapy practice.

Abstract Building robust data systems that include information on the health of older adults is crucial to developing programs and services that meet their health and social needs. Organizations and agencies can use this information to target resources and identify community partners, as well as using data to support grant applications. But there are challenges to building such systems, even within the public health system, due to lack of expertise, funding, and access to underlying data sources. Through its Age-Friendly Public Health Systems initiative, Trust for America’s Health’s has worked directly with several state public health departments to explore opportunities to develop and expand their county-level data profiles on older adults. This session will highlight the unique collaborations and partnerships between departments of health and other institutions, including academia, to develop data profiles. Through these innovative partnerships, departments of health have been able to develop dynamic data profiles that they share with aging services providers to discuss strategies to support their older adults in their communities. Best practices and lessons learned through the profile development process will also be discussed.

Purpose: The study's main objective was to identify the presence of selected healthcare entities from the Lower Silesian province in social media. The specific goal was to assess the status of the use of social media by selected medical entities in the context of building their image. Design/methodology/approach: The author drew attention to the creation of the image of medical entities in the context of legal conditions and presented permissible (in light of the law) marketing activities shaping the idea of the medical entity in social media. Then the author, using the desk research method, analyzed the content of the profiles of selected medical entities from the Lower Silesian Province that have corporate accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. The author based his considerations on Polish and foreign literature on the subject, studying scientific articles and electronic sources. The author used the following professional databases to collect scientific literature: Biblioteka Nauki and Google Scholar. Findings: Shaping the image of a healthcare entity on social media as communicative, engaged, and open to the patient's preferences and needs is a way to increase competitiveness in the region. Given the nature of the healthcare industry, healthcare entities should adopt a strategy to build an expert position in the region. An analysis of the content of the company's social media accounts showed that the selected healthcare entities run their profiles in a diversified manner, emphasizing one medium chosen, which is usually Facebook, and posting less frequently (Instagram) or incidentally (YouTube) in others. The least often used medium is LinkedIn. Social implications: The advantage of using social media channels by healthcare entities is direct and immediate contact with stakeholders, through which it is possible to effectively target information messages to people/groups interested in the facility's offerings. Originality/value: The author directed the article primarily to managers/directors in charge of healthcare entities and medical marketing specialists to make them aware that maintaining a medical institution's corporate social media account is necessary today. Without this, it is impossible to effectively reach a wide range of patients using social media channels daily. According to the author, it is necessary to strengthen the role of the patient in the health system as a full-fledged stakeholder and realize its actual impact on the economic situation and competitive position of medical facilities in the context of their social media marketing activities. The article's value is a comprehensive discussion of the importance of individual social media in the activities of the analyzed medical entities from the Lower Silesian Province. Nowadays, BIM (Building Information Modeling) has steadily been introduced into the construction industry as a promising methodology for managing projects. Therefore, it is necessary to study the users of its processes. Worldwide, there are already systems that classify companies according to how they use BIM, although only a few studies have been conducted on how individual users are classified. Hence, the present study sought to develop a model that characterized BIM users based on several parameters. The methodology employed defined variables based on a literature review, which experts subsequently validated. These variables made it possible to develop the measurement instrument: a structured questionnaire applied to construction professionals. The necessary parameters for the user characterization model were extracted using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. This model met the structural evaluation and measurement criteria, which confirmed that it was valid and reliable. It was found that three main aspects mainly characterized users: (i) their use and command of the software and the methodology, (ii) the experience and degree of adoption of the technology, and (iii) the individual’s knowledge of process levels and standardization concerning BIM.

Over the past year, the issue of students’ professional development is becoming one of the most important, since it largely determines the development of all spheres of society in the near future. This year, very noticeable changes were noticed in university training, associated, first of all, with the global pandemic and the transition of many educational institutions to the online format of education, as well as with significant socio-economic changes. In this regard, we can also observe changes in students’ ideas about their future professional tasks and opportunities, on their socio-psychological attitudes, career orientations and prospects. Taking into account the traditional interest in the topic of young specialists’ professional priorities, we have noted an even greater increase in interest in this topic recently. At the same time, as shown by the scientific-theoretical analysis, today we do not really have generalized works devoted to the study on social-psychological factors influencing higher education students’ professional dispositions. The aim of the research was to reveal the social-psychological features of psychology students’ professional dispositions. The approaches to the study on social-psychological aspects of the formation of students’ professional dispositions and career orientations were analyzed to achieve the aim of our research. The article also presents the results of vthe empirical study on the social-psychological characteristics of students’ professional dispositions. Based on our analysis, we have defined professional dispositions as a set of social-psychological attitudes, reflecting an individual’s readiness to perform tasks, to meet norms and prescriptions for a certain profession. Career orientations have been defined as a type of professional dispositions, which predict the trajectory of a person’s career development. There are also tendencies to group individual professional attitude and career orientations into integral professional priorities. We determined five disparate professional dispositions, which focus on: achievements; well-being of life; values of the profession; self-development, stability. In addition, there was a tendency to group individual career priorities into a respondent’s personal profile, which indicates students’ focus on high achievement. Our research also revealed possible resources that can be used by students during higher education training for coping with emotional, psychological problems, based on current professional priorities. First of all, we talk about resources of adherence to a chosen profession - orientation towards the realization of professional values, service, achievement of professional competence, self-development, achievement of high results in one’s work, as well as such personal resources as family relations, life realization - orientation towards stable life. Therefore, the further research is promising if it aim will be to deepen the understanding of the main trends in the formation of future professionals’ professional dispositions and career orientations in connection with the actual changes in the higher education system.

Defining and re-defining identity is important for any profession, particularly so for tertiary learning advisors (TLAs) in the increasingly uncertain tertiary education environment in Aotearoa New Zealand. In the past ten years, two national surveys of learning centres in tertiary institutions sketched the professional status of TLAs, based on data from managers; there has been little research, however, on individual TLAs’ perspectives of their professional status. This special issue, ‘Identity and Opportunity’, reports on a project designed to address that gap, in three parts: building a professional profile, acknowledging learning advisors’ contribution, and rewards and challenges of the role. The findings indicate that TLAs are highly qualified and experienced but – for many – their skills and experience are not adequately recognised by institutions. There are significant barriers to progression within their institution, stemming mainly from organisational policies. Despite that lack of clear career opportunities, and other frustrations, overall satisfaction with the TLA role is high. Underpinning the findings, however, are issues of identity and recognition that should be addressed to ensure a resilient profession. Background A new dashboard, the 360ºCHILD-profile, was developed to adopt personalized health care within preventive child health care. On this profile, holistic health data are visualized in a single image to provide parents, adolescents, and caregivers direct access to a manageable résumé of a child’s medical record. Theoretical ordering, conforming to “International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth”, guides clinical reasoning toward the biopsychosocial concept of health. It is yet unknown if and how this promising tool functions in practice, and a variety of feasibility questions must be addressed. Objective This paper describes the design and methods of a feasibility randomized controlled trial (RCT), with the aim of evaluating the RCT’s feasibility (recruitment, response, measure completion, and intervention allocation) and 360ºCHILD-profile’s feasibility (usability and potential effectiveness). Methods A pragmatic mixed methods study design was chosen, starting with an RCT to measure feasibility and health literacy in 2 parallel groups (1:1). Qualitative research will then be used to understand and explain quantitative findings and to explore the stakeholders' perspectives on the potential of the 360ºCHILD-profile. Participants will include child health care professionals (n≥30), parents (n≥30), and caregivers (n≥10) of children who experience developmental problems (age 0-16 years). Children will only be able to participate if they are older than 11 years (adolescents, n≥10). The 2 groups included in the study will receive standard care. The experimental group will additionally receive personalized 360ºCHILD-profiles. Results After an intervention period of 6 months, quantitative outcomes will be measured, analyzed (descriptive feasibility statistics and preliminary between-group differences) and used to purposively sample for semistructured interviews. Conclusions Study results will provide knowledge for building theory on the 360ºCHILD-profile and designing future (effect) studies. This review article is an update of what should be known for practicing basic lung ultrasound in the critically ill (LUCI) and is also of interest for less critical disciplines (e.g. pulmonology). It pinpoints on the necessity of a professional machine (not necessarily a sophisticated one) and probe. It lists the 10 main signs of LUCI and some of the main protocols made possible using LUCI: the BLUE protocol for a respiratory failure, the FALLS protocol for a circulatory failure, the SESAME protocol for a cardiac arrest and the investigation of a ventilated acute respiratory distress syndrome patient, etc. It shows how the field has been fully standardised to avoid confusion.Key pointsA simple ultrasonography unit is fully adequate, with minimal filters, and provides a unique probe for integrating the lung into a holistic, whole-body approach to the critically ill.Interstitial syndrome is strictly defined. Studies of the elements that make up the structure of a building have generally focused on topics related to their physical and structural capacities. Although research has been carried out into environmental impact during the life cycle stages, the environmental profile is far from established. This research aims to reduce the gap in the knowledge of this subject, offering useful information to professionals in the construction industry, which will enable them to consider environmental aspects when choosing the best construction systems. The present study applies the methodology of the life cycle assessment (LCA), to analyze and compare four floor construction systems in two different scenarios (“A” with a functional homogeneous unit of 1 m2 and “B” with 1 m² made up of the percentages of the floor system and the special areas of the building). The analysis is performed using the LCA Manager software, along with the Ecoinvent 3.1 database and with a cradle to handover perspective (A1–A5). Comparison was made using two environmental impact methodologies, Eco-indicator 99 and CML 2001. The results highlight the stages A1–A3 as those that generate the greatest environmental impact. Comparing the environmental profiles of the different floor systems, one-way floor systems I and II had the best environmental scores, 30% less than two-way floor system III and 50% less than slab floor system IV.

The article analyzes the problem of profile education in the modern education system and its role in the pre-profile training of students at the senior level of secondary school. The forms of profile training organization are considered. It is shown that the training of high school students in specialized classes promotes conscious professional choice based on holistic, complete and adequate ideas about the future profession, ideas about their own abilities and professional preferences, contributes to the successful building of an individual educational route. The respondents were senior pupils of specialized and non-specialized classes of secondary schools in the number of 115 people. The following methods were used: “the Questionnaire aimed at studying the ideas about the object of activity (E. I. Rogova), the test method of J. Golland to determine the type of professional orientation of the individual. Methods of mathematical and statistical processing. The results of empirical research of professional representations of senior pupils of educational organizations are presented.

AbstractSituating external engagement within the broader context of developments in Western higher education (HE) and technologies that are changing many aspects of academic life, this research note draws on the experiences of a large number of China scholars to assess the merits of Twitter for individual academics and the field as whole. Celebrating its tenth anniversary in March 2016, Twitter has shaken off its earlier image of celebrity stalking and inane ephemera and has become a tool used by many professionals working on China. Despite initial scepticism, many academics have recognized the utility of Twitter for various professional activities, including networking, increasing research visibility, gathering and disseminating information, and building a public profile. As external engagement activities become a routine expectation for academics in many Western universities, social media like Twitter have drawn attention as potentially useful tools. However, there are numerous obstacles to effective use, which this note addresses.
