Resumen
Two mummified bats were found in an ancient salt mine near Chehrabad, NW Iran. One complete and one partial skeletons, both associated with parts of the pelage, were identified as Eptesicus gobiensis, a bat species rare in the Middle East. The comparison of skull and statistical evaluation of craniodental data showed this bat to belong to the identical taxon as the mummified bats previously collected in Qutur Su caves, NW Iran; this part of Iran is thus an area of broader distribution of this bat, the second record reported here confirms its preference for dry upper plateaus. This Iranian population exhibits much similarity with E. gobiensis bobrinskoi living in lowland deserts of Kazakhstan, but it simultaneously shows morphological and ecological differences from the Kazakhstani populations. Therefore, the population of Iran is here tentatively identified as E. g. cf. bobrinskoi. The species rank of E. gobiensis was found to be composed of three morphotypes living in three separate ranges, E. g. gobiensis in mountain plateaus of Central Asia, E. g. bobrinskoi in lowlands of Kazakhstan, and E. g. cf. bobrinskoi in NW Iran. However, the phylogenetic and taxonomic statuses of the Iranian morphotype still remain to be elicudated.

Resumen
The article virtually reconstructs Bogoroditsky Park of the Bobrinsky estate located in the city of Bogoroditsk, Tula region. The author briefly describes the history of the city and the estate, the biography of the park creator A. T. Bolotov, presents the results of the analysis of historiographical studies on the history of the development of Russian landscape art and the features of its development in the 18th century. Some paragraphs of the article study the formation of a complex of historical sources that served the basis for reconstruction, their criticism, as well as methods and technologies for creating a virtual reconstruction of the park ensemble of the Bobrinsky estate. The author illustrates the article with still frames of the virtual reality created. The virtual reconstruction of Bobrinsky estate park ensemble is one of the first works within the frames of historical 3D modeling where the landscape park is the central research object. The result of the work is the virtual reconstruction of the A. T. Bolotov's Park on the territory of the Bobrinsky estate in Bogoroditsk. The project is of quite great practical importance since the study addresses the federal level object. The virtual reconstruction can be used in the Bogoroditsky Palace-Museum and park as well as the State Historical Museum where an album of A. T. Bolotov's watercolors is kept. In addition, the project could become the basis for a real reconstruction of the park in Bogoroditsk.

Resumen
AbstractThe Bobrinski bucket, made in Herat in 599/1163, is one of the most iconic metalwork objects studied by historians of Islamic art. To date, art historical scholarship on the bucket has focused on interpreting its decorative programme and identifying the decorator, Mas'ud ibn Ahmad, whose name is inscribed on the bucket, as the 'artist' who had the intellectual property of the design and its application. In this essay, I investigate the meaning of signatures left by 'artists' by examining the range of possible relationships between four men whose names appear in the dedication inscription of the Bobrinski bucket. The legal writings of Hanafī jurists from Khurasan and Transoxiana, including al-Sarakhsī (d. ca. 1090), provide an important, and hitherto unexplored, source for understanding the legal rights and responsibilities of the different parties involved in the production of a metalwork object from conception to final product, including the stages of commissioning, manufacture, sale, and repair. The treatment by Muslim jurists of the different forms of trade provides a better understanding of the potential legal and contractual capacity in which a metalwork artist could sign his work.

Resumen
The article deals with problems of the noble class in post-reform period in Russia (70–90-ies XIXth cent.) through A. Bobrinsky’s activity as the Leader of the St. Petersburg nobility. The study analyzed his activities towards the Nobility consolidation and involvement their representatives into development of Russian state policy. A. Bobrinsky belonged to the family of large landowners and successful sugar-growers of the Russian Empire. It greatly influenced to the formation of his political worldview and contributed to the growth of the young Count’s authority among the Nobility and Gentry. In the last quarter of the XIXth cent. A. Bobrinsky defended the dominant position of the Nobility as the provincial Governor (the Leader) of the St. Petersburg nobility. A. Bobrinsky’s main efforts were aimed to the consolidation of the Gentry to defend their own rights and privileges and their involvement to the Russian state authorities. He promoted the idea of founding a representative institution – the Duma or Zemsky Sobor – in Russian Empire. However, the purpose of its creation he was seen in the count in the redistribution of executive, judicial and punitive powers between government representatives and elected people from the Nobility. He was convinced that only the Gentry was worthy to represent the interests of Russian society in the state authorities. During this period, the young Bobrinsky attempted to unite the St. Petersburg nobility into the organization of «Svyataya Druzhyna». It was a semi-secret organization which established to protect of the Russian Tsar from possible terrorist acts. The purpose of the organization was rather limited and local, so it disintegrated soon. However, it contributed to the growth of A. Bobrysky’s authority as a loyal to the Tsar and autocracy personality. It had a great importance in the conditions of the economic and political crisis of the noble class. In the 90’s of the XIX cent. A. Bobrinsky took an active part in nobility meetings devoted to problems of the privileged class. Here he defended an idea of preserving the privileges and dominant position of the estate Nobility. He opposed the provision of political rights and state support to the estateless nobles-homeowners and representatives of the bourgeoisie. A. Bobrinsky didn’t reject an idea to create conditions for the nobility replenishment by the new social classes, but he saw it possibility only in the distant future. However, even government support didn’t contribute to consolidation processes and politicization among the nobility class. A. Bobrinsky with sadness stated that the meetings of the noble leaders continued to be only like private talks about preserving the nobility former positions in the social structure. So he had to change strategy and initiated the founding in 1906 a new organization – the United Nobility. During the next decade its existence largely predetermined the main directions of Russian government policy and as a whole.

Resumen
The closest analogy to the «Suzdal hystera-amulet» is the «composite stone hystera-amulet» from the collection of A. A. Bobrinsky. These two amulets are brought together by iconography, material, inscriptions in Russian. The amulet of A. A. Bobrinsky is considered to be an antiquarian imitation. However, results of comparative analysis of both amulets bring us to conclude that the «composite stone hystera-amulet» is not an immitation, but an analogy to the «Suzdal hystera-amulet», belongs to the category of medical device and embodies a medical tradition with a history of more than 2000 years.

The article presents a brief synthesis of the results deal with the study of ceramics Maikop-novosvobodnaya community using the method of a. a. Bobrinsky and use of the microscope with 12 times magnification. it sets out ideas about raw materials, methods of construction, surface treatment. especially emphasized the problem of the use by the ancient potters of rotary devices. For the first time about such vessels were noted in the work of a. a. Bobrinsky and r. M. Munchaev in 1966, for example, vessels with a flat bottom. at present a series of examples of traces deal with use of rotary devices has expanded. in the article by a. s. Kizilov shows the simulation of the vessel of the Maikop culture and fixation of the traces of its turn without a fixed axis of rotation and with a non-fixed environment of rotation. as a result, the actual doing of those and other traces that prove the use of Maikop potters rotary devices with a fixed axis of rotation in the manufacture of vessels not only flat, but round bottom too.

Resumen
The article is devoted to the virtual reconstruction of small architectural forms of the Bogoroditsky Park of the Bobrinsky estate. In addition to the unique architectural ensemble, this place was famous for its park, and all thanks to its creator – the estate manager Andrey Timofeevich Bolotov. It was A.T. Bolotov who left the most detailed memories of the construction of the park ensemble, as well as a whole album with sketches of the views of the park, which allows us to present the beauty and grandeur of the estate today. The focus of the virtual reconstruction is on the most beautiful part of the park, which was located to the northwest of the palace, closer to the shore of a Large pond. The article discusses the techniques of landscape design used by the estate manager A.T.Bolotov at the end of the XVIII century, the features of the construction of the park and the difficulties encountered in creating objects of small architectural forms. The methods and technologies of computer modeling used in creating a three-dimensional historical reconstruction of small architectural forms, the relief of the park, reservoirs and green spaces based on historical sources are analyzed in detail. The work contains a study on the history of the construction of the Bobrinsky Estate park, its development after the resignation of the manager A.T. Bolotov, development and restoration in the XX – XXI centuries, provides an overview of historical sources, including materials of the Restoration and Architecture LLC project in 2014, which allow restoring the historical appearance of the palace and park ensemble of the estate.

Resumen
The article is devoted to analysis of shapes and ornamental designs of 121 vessels from the Balanovo burial ground. The burial field belongs to the Bronze Age and is situated in the Mari part of the Volga river basin. The analysis has been carried on within framework of the historical-and-cultural approach to pottery study developed by A.A. Bobrinsky (Bobrinsky, 1978). Vessel shapes have been study in accordance with procedure developed by Yu.B. Tsetlin. The procedure includes three consecutive stages: 1. determination of general proportionality of vessels; 2. detachment of vessels’ functional parts; 3. determination of the functional parts’ maturity. Analysis of ornamental designs has been carried out in accordance with the procedure developed by the author of the article and consisted of detachment of technological ornamental traditions (type of ornamental tools and ways of its drawing) and of stylistic ornamental traditions (at four structural levels: an 251 element, an image, a motif, and a composition). In result the author has detached the Balanov and the Atli-Kasin pottery traditions of forms creation and ornamentation (there is no differences in pottery traditions of these two populations). Mixed Balanov-Atli-Kasin traditions have been detached also. The presence of mixed traditions allows the author to make a more substantiated conclusion that the Balanov burial ground was left by two closely related population groups, by Balanovo and Atlikan groups.

Resumen
The article is devoted to further development of historical-and-cultural approach and methods of earthenware vessels study. A.A. Bobrinsky laid the principles of the approach and respective methods in several articles (Bobrinsky, 1986, 1988a, b, 1991). Three main stages of vessel shapes study are expounded in the article: preparatory, analytical and interpretation stages. The main attention is paid to the analytical stage. It is assumed that content of the interpretation stage will be expounded in a special article based on specific ethnographic and archeological materials. Within framework of analytical stage of vessel shapes study 5 levels of analysis are considered successively: I – analysis of general proportionality (GP) of vessel forms; II – analysis of vessel shapes’ natural structure; III – analysis of extent of functional parts’ maturity; IV – analysis of vessel shapes’ elementary structure; V – analysis of vessel shapes’ curved line (“covers”). Various aspects of potters’ cultural traditions in the sphere of certain vessel shapes creation are analyzed at all levels. At the same time the deeper is the level of shapes analysis, the more detailed cultural peculiarities of population and potters are discovered and fixed. Every level of analysis can be applied to any of 7 functional parts that form the natural structure of specific vessels. It should be emphasized that in this article an extent of functional parts’ maturity is analyzed in considerably greater detail than it was done earlier. Some rules of vessel shapes comparative analysis are expounded in the concluding section. Such analysis is performed pursuant to research tasks in two directions: in direction of certain potters’ individual skills and in direction of cultural traditions of human collectives. In the latter case an extent of cultural homogeneity of collective traditions is fixed. Infraction of the pottery traditions may be related to cultural infiltration (which brings about the beginning of mixture process), to different stages of cultural integration (which means development of mixture process) and to cultural assimilation (the mixture process completion).

I. The article addresses different methods of identifying the manure temper in ceramics: through analysis of impressions of plants on the basis of methods developed by A.A. Bobrinsky, and through spherulite and spores and pollen anal ysis as well. The last two methods are used for the first time for identification of the manure temper in ceramics. All kinds of analyses are conducted on the basis of materials from a single Neolithic settlement from northern Mesopotamia – Yarim Tepe I.

Resumen
This short text is devoted to presentation of preliminary results of the fundamental experiment carried out by A.A. Bobrinsky in the 1970s and the 1980s on the basis of traditional pottery trade. Altogether about 40 master potters of different ages and of different skill levels took part in this experiment in different years. The experiment consisted in artificial modeling of the situation that occurred permanently in the history of pottery. We mean cases when a potter produces vessel forms that are new for him and due to specific historical reasons became “fashionable” (or sought after) in a particular society. In the experiment course it was found out that a potter who performs such task experience a disruption of traditional system of physical efforts application a potter had developed in the course of long production of traditional (customary) vessel forms range. The disruption’s result is emergence of so called “hybrid” vessel forms that were widely spread in various historical epochs, from the Neolithic Age to the late Middle Age. These “hybrid” forms co-existed with traditional vessel forms. The discovered regularities widen considerably contemporary opportunities to study these phenomena on archeological pottery.

Resumen
The report outlines the results of technological analysis of circular ceramics made in the XI – the first half of the XII centuries from the lower layers of the excavation that took place in 2013 at the Livery yard in Rostov. Technological study of ceramics was held according to A. A. Bobrinsky methodology. Hard oversanded ferruginized clay with grus and organic were generally used for ceramics manufacture. Chamotte as material was used quite rarely. Unferruginized clay and sand were presumably typical for imported vessels. The study revealed no direct relation between rim shape and pottery technology. It is likely that ceramics of the same morphological group was made by different groups of potters.

Technological analysis of 92 vessel rims of was carried out, using the method developed by A. A. Bobrinsky. The information about the raw material and paste composing was obtained. The analysis results demonstrate two clearly distinguishable pottery-making traditions: one with the paste composed of silty clay and grog and the other, with the paste composed of silty clay and crushed shell. Morphologically, the pottery with grog is similar to the vessels from the late-scyphian sites of North-West, Central and South-West Crimea. Most of the big container vessels and some of the small pots are made according to this pottery making tradition. The pottery with crushed shell is similar to vessels from Polyanka settlement in morphology and paste. Most of the small pots, bowls and cultic and votive ceramic are made according to this pottery making tradition. The author supposes that the tower garrison consisted of members of two cultural groups who made pottery according to the abovementioned traditions. The group producing ceramic with grog might be similar to late scyphian population of Crimea.

Resumen
The article presents first results of studying paste compounds of Late Bronze Age handе made vessels from Panaghiya 1 settlement, Taman Peninsula. Vessels are dated to XIV-X C BC. The fragments of 17 vessels of Sabatinovskaya, Belozerskaya Cultures, with mixed features of Sabatinovskaya and Babinskaya Cultures and a vessel of unknown cultural background were researched. The study was carried out with the method of technological analysis, developed by A. A. Bobrinsky. It was specified that the main used resipe of paste composing was “clay + grog + dung infusion” (35,3 %). A temper of crushed rock (kwartz and kwartz sandstone) to it is noted in 17,7 % cases. Liman silty clay as a raw material for paste composing were used rarely (5,9 % cases in Sabatinov ceramic, 11,8 % cases in Belozerskaya ceramic, 5,9 % cases – Sabatinov-Babino vessels, 5,9% – a vessel of unknown cultural background). A composition “silty clay + crushed shell + organic liquid” was noted in 1 case (5,9 %) in the same vessel. The study of paste compounds of Late Bronze Age ceramic from Panaghiya settlement is expected to continue. In future it is planned to compare the outcome and the other sites materials of the same period from Taman Peninsula and, in the long run, from Crimea.

Resumen
В классическом исследовании А.А. A new type of organic temper, the aquatic bird manure, and its indicators in pottery paste of the Neolithic vessels was for the first time defined in the classic research by A.A. Bobrinsky “The Pottery of Eastern Europe. Sources and Methods of Study” (1978). One of such indicators is the down of birds and small feathers the traces of which are abundant in the Volosovo ceramics. A number of researchers deny the use of bird manure as an organic temper and claim that ancient potters added nothing else but the down of birds and small feathers to pottery paste. The article summarizes new results of a specific research on indicators of bird manure in pottery paste of ancient ceramics. The occurrence of remains and impressions in pottery paste of the chitin exoskeleton of insects, which were im portant source of food for birds in nesting and hatching season, is regarded as one of the main indicators of this type of temper.
