Cette thèse étudie plusieurs moments marqués par un intérêt et engouement forts pour les artefacts et monuments précolombiens – ou pensés comme tels – pour comprendre leur présence et usages en France durant le long 19ème et avant leur appréhension esthétique de la première moitié du 20ème siècle. Suivant surtout des objets provenant du Mexique et de l’Amérique Centrale, cette étude privilégie deux aspects jusqu’alors moins explorés : le goût, les espaces et les usages privés d’une part; leur place dans le commerce de l’antiquité, de la curiosité et de l’art de l’autre. Le dépouillement de catalogues de collections et de ventes, de publications savantes artistiques et des enquêtes archivistiques en France et aux États-Unis ont permis de relever des moments où créativité érudite, intérêt amateur et marché ont évolués ensemble. Après suivre la formulation d’une valeur d’«antiquité» pour les «objets anciens» des Amériques à la fin du 18ème siècle, l’arrivée de nouvelles collections mexicaines à Paris et le projet de publication des Antiquités mexicaines (1834-1840) permettent d’identifier un nouveau foyer d’intérêt pour l’antiquité américaine et ses œuvres d’art au sein de la Société Libre des Beaux-Arts de Paris. A partir des années 1830 et en parallèle à l’intensification des échanges avec l’Amérique Latine, il est dès lors possible d’identifier des marchands et offrant des artefacts des Amériques et de suivre l’émergence des premiers «experts» de ce marché. La Deuxième Intervention Française au Mexique (1861-1867) permet d’explorer l’idée d’une relation privilégiée entre la France et le Mexique. L’étude des mutations du marché et des sensibilités montre comment cet épisode et l’engouement contemporain pour l’univers du «primitif» se sont traduits par un développement considérable du commerce et du collectionnisme d’artefacts des Amériques. Deux études de cas sur le marchand Eugène Boban et le collectionneur Eugène Goupil permettent de recontextualiser ces développements structuraux à l’échelle de l’individu. Enfin, l’étude d’un réseau de collectionneurs franco-mexicains et nord-américains, sous le double prisme de l’affirmation de discours patrimoniaux patriotiques et d’un marché de l’art transnational, éclairent la nouvelle valeur marchande et la mutation en «ouvre d’art» de ces objets partir des années 1920
This thesis examines different moments characterized by a strong interest for and fascination with Pre-Columbian artefacts – or though as such – to better understand their place in 19th century France, before their aesthetic “rediscovery” in the 20th century. Focusing on artefacts from Mexico and Central America and drawing from sales catalogues, scholarly and artistic publications and archival research, this thesis explores the role played by personal taste and private usages in collecting as well as the place occupied by these objects in the developping art and antiquities market. In the 1830s, the arrival of new collections in Paris and the publication of Antiquités mexicaines serve as the starting point from which to consider the Société Libre des Beaux-Arts as one of the main centres structuring interest for American Antiquity. It is now also possible to identify the first merchants and “experts” to offer Pre-Columbian artefacts for sale. We then examine the aftermath of the Second Franco-Mexican War (1861-67) : how it contributed to articulate the idea of a privileged relationship between France and Mexico and how the emergence of a new taste for all things “primitive” affected the commerce of Pre-Columbian artefacts. Finally, through the study of dealer Eugène Boban and collector Eugène Goupil we analyse these structural changes at the level of the individual and follow a network of Franco- Mexican and North American collectors whose activity, considered in terms of patriotic heritage discourses and the emergence of a transnational art market, contribute to understanding the transformation of Pre-Columbian material culture into “artworks” in the 1920s

Este trabalho se propõe analisar, interpretar e destacar o desempenho da musicóloga Oneyda Alvarenga, como diretora da Discoteca Pública Municipal de São Paulo (atual Discoteca Oneyda Alvarenga), trazendo a lume seu perfil de poeta, musicóloga e etnóloga, e de Mario de Andrade, como diretor do Departamento de Cultura da cidade e criador da seção que comportava o funcionamento da Discoteca Municipal; abordar seu papel como mentor de Oneyda Alvarenga; os esforços do intelectual modernista, crítico de arte e musicólogo no sentido de promover a busca de uma expressão genuinamente nacional da música brasileira. Propõe-se também a analisar a própria Discoteca Pública Municipal, seus objetivos, seu momento histórico e cultural, antes e durante o governo de Getúlio Vargas; o valor e o sentido da organização da documentação musical brasileira e latino-americana na época do Departamento de Cultura, sob diretoria de Mario de Andrade, segundo os propósitos do americanismo musical defendido por Curt Lange. Ainda sob o ponto de vista do americanismo musical, estabelecer relações entre os objetivos de difusão cultural mediante o trabalho de recuperação da música folclórica pela Missão de Pesquisas Folclóricas, a criação da Discoteca Pública Municipal e o contexto latino-americano, com sua atmosfera intelectual, que favorecia a criação de órgãos que pusessem à disposição documentos a serem pesquisados, refletindo sobre esse empreendimento no momento sócio-cultural brasileiro das décadas de 1930 e 1940, passando pelo viés da realidade brasileira, ao mesmo tempo gestada pela criação e universo social que propicia essa criação.
This dissertation proposes to analyze, interpret and highlight the performance of the musicologist Oneyda Alvarenga, as director of São Paulo Municipal Public Record Collection (current Oneyda Alvarenga Record Collection), bringing to light his profile of poet, musicologist and ethnologist, and of Mario de Andrade, as Director of the City Department of Culture and creator of the section that included the operation of the Municipal Disco Hall; his role as mentor to Oneyda Alvarenga; the efforts of the intellectual modernistic, musicologist and critic of art to promote the search for means of truly national expression of Brazilian music. It is furthermore also proposes examining the own Municipal Public Record Collection, its objectives, its history and culture before and during the government of Getúlio Vargas, the value and meaning of the organization of Brazilian and Latin American musical documentation at the time of the Department of Culture, under the direction of Mario de Andrade, according to the purposes of the musical Americanism advocated by Curt Lange. Still from the point of view of musical Americanism, linking the objectives of cultural diffusion through the work of recovery of the folk music by the Folk Research Mission, the creation of the Municipal Public Record Collection and the Latin American context, reflecting on this undertaking at the Brazilian socio-cultural moment in the decades of 30 and 40 through the bias of Brazilian reality, while managed by the creation and the social universe that provides this creation.

Ce travail pose la question du genre littéraire à propos de l'œuvre génériquement instable de l'écrivain contemporain Christian Bobin (1951). Une première partie commence par interroger cette œuvre du point de vue de la fiction narrative – roman et nouvelle – et finit par en étudier la fragmentation intrinsèque. Une seconde partie cherche à repérer ce qui, chez l'auteur, relève d'une littérature de l'intime et peut être rangé dans la catégorie des écritures du moi telles que le journal, l'entretien et la lettre. La troisième partie se penche enfin sur la principale caractéristique de cette œuvre : le lyrisme. A travers l'analyse d'une écriture dans ses rapports à la musique et au chant, cette partie tente d'explorer la manière dont elle – cette écriture – se fait poésie mystique : la tension vers une transcendance devient ainsi chez Bobin une modalité essentielle de la transcendance des genres
This work raises the issue of the literary genre in connection with the generically unstable oeuvre of the contemporary writer Christian Bobin (1951). The first part begins with the examination of this oeuvre from the point of view of narrative fiction – novel and short story – and ends with the study of its intrinsic fragmentation. The second part seeks to locate what is, in the writer, relevant to intimate literature and may be categorized among the writings of the self such as the diary, the conversation and the epistolary writing. The third part eventually examines the major feature of this oeuvre: lyricism. Through the analysis of the relationships between writing, music and singing, this part attempts at exploring the style that brings it together with mystical poetry : and so evoking transcendence becomes, in Bobin's work, the essential modality of the transcendence of genres

Resumen

Boran cattle provide livelihood to thousands of households in the arid and semi arid lands of Kenya. The Kenya Boran cattle breeders’ society (KBCBS) is actively involved in the improvement of the breed. Due to their superior adaptive and productive traits in comparison to other indigenous breeds of cattle, they have also become a popular choice for breeders in Eastern and Southern Africa. Their continued genetic improvement through progeny and performance testing is critical and accurate pedigree records are paramount. Pedigree records of four stud herds were evaluated for accuracy using 11 microsatellite markers on 178 samples. The microsatellite markers had a combined probability of exclusion (CPE) of 0.9997. The dam misidentification rate was 0 to 5% and that of the sires ranged from 4.3 to 80% between the four stud herds. 4,456 Boran pedigree records from Kenya stud book for the four participating stud herds were analysed for inbreeding. The average generation interval was 6.8 years and the estimated inbreeding coefficient was unexpectedly low (0.0023), probably due to incomplete records. The high rate of mispaternity will lead to low response to selection and increased inbreeding. The use of DNA markers for parentage assignment will improve the accuracy of the pedigree records. This will enhance the accuracy of selection, increase the rate of genetic gain and improve effective monitoring of inbreeding.

Cette thèse cherche à connaître le bonheur tel que Bobin conçoit et projette dans son œuvre. Pour ce but, l'approche bachelardienne nous a servi à définir dans l'œuvre de Bobin un élément symbolique pour le bonheur : la flamme. Pour traiter la question du temps et sa complexité, très liée à notre question principale, les réflexions de Bachelard, de Bergson et de la physique moderne sur le temps sont prises en référence ainsi que la " logique du contradictoire " (de Lupasco). Les images plus attachées à l'intellect sont analysées suivant les travaux d'Henry Corbin et définies comme " images-corps-réalités ". Elles témoignent d'un regard mystique chez Bobin. Une tendance vers la géopoétique pour acquérir l'Unité du monde s'ajoute aussi à ce regard. Et une langue d'" anima/animus " et un processus de la production du sens, " hélice du sens ", interviennent pour traduire l'intransmissible en fragments. Cela rend l'écriture de Bobin " fragmentaire ", ce que nous avons désigné comme un nouveau genre : " poésie-prose " mystique.

L'objet de cette recherche porte sur les réceptions des textes littéraires de Christian Bobin (1951 - ) par un public socialement différencié. Une première partie vise d'une part la reconstruction de la position de l'écrivain dans le champ littéraire français contemporain, en montrant que l'auteur appartient en début de carrière au sous-champ de production restreinte, pour basculer à partir des années 1992 dans le sous-champ de grande production ; d'autre part l'analyse des injonctions des textes (dans la lettre comme dans la forme) susceptibles d'orienter la réception des lecteurs. Au moyen de la notion d'univers symbolique (Berger et Luckmann), nous observons que les textes de Bobin relèvent de l'ethos de la mystique contemplative (Max Weber), et fournissent les clés d'une philosophie de la résignation potentiellement appropriable par les lecteurs. La seconde partie s'intéresse aux discours de réception d'une cinquantaine d'individus aux carrières de lecteurs hétérogènes. Leurs propos, recueillis par entretien, sont étudiés au moyen de portraits qui mettent en évidence dans un premier temps les particularités des réceptions d'une même uvre, et dans un second temps, une récurrence dans les fonctions et usages des textes, centrée autour de la notion d'aide symbolique
The reseach object is the appropriation Christian Bobin's art work (French writer, 1951 -), by a sociocultural indifferencied population. In the first part, we analyse Bobin's position in the contemporary sphere of literature, showing that he belongs at the beginning of his career to the restricted production sphere, and to the commercial sphere from 1992 onwards. We also analyse all Bobin's production in order to find the texts injunctions. Using the notion of symbolic univers (Berger and Luckmann), we can read Bobin's books with the ethos of mystic contemplative (Max Weber). They also may give to the readers a kind of resignation philosophy. The second part deals with the appropriation of fifty poersons that were interviewed about their reading experiences. Sammanfattning

Efter den 1 januari 2004 har antalet tvister angående personligt ansvar för bolagsföreträdare

vad gäller bolagets skulder ökat dramatiskt. En av anledningarna till denna ökning av

tvister angående företrädaransvar är lagändringen i förmånsrättslagen den 1 januari 2004. I

och med denna lagändring förlorade skatter och avgifter sin status som prioriterade fordringar

i ett konkursbo. I och med denna förändring behandlas numera dessa båda statliga

inkomstkällor som fordringar utan förmånsrätt. Härmed är staten med SKV som ombud

endast berättigad till betalning först efter att borgenärer med särskild förmånsrätt fått betalt.

Innan denna lagändring kunde Skatteverket (SKV) inta en avvaktande ställning vad

gäller skatter och avgifter då dessa betalades in i vilket fall. Med anledning av dessa nya regler

har SKV numera intagit ett borgenärsperspektiv om innebär en mer offensiv inställning

ifråga om indrivandet av skatter och avgifter av rörelsedrivande bolag.

Rekvisiten för fastställandet av ett företrädaransvar stadgas i 12 kap 6 § SBL och även dessa

regler fick sin nuvarande lydelse den 1 januari 2004. För att bli ålagd personligt ansvar för

bolagets skatter och avgifter gäller att bolagsföreträdaren ska ha agerat grovt oaktsamt eller

uppsåtligt då betalning av dessa ekonomiska poster inte skett. I mål nr 1907-04, Göta Hovrätt

klargörs detta på ett ingående sätt och detta analyseras i uppsatsen.

Mina slutsatser angående problemen med samspelet mellan reglerna om företrädaransvar är

att SKV har en alltför långtgående möjlighet som borgenär då de kan åberopa personligt

ansvar för en bolagsföreträdare och på så vis driva in sina fordringar. Att som vanlig bolagsföreträdare

inse att personligt ansvar kan bli aktuellt då skatten inte betalats in före des

förfallodatum är inte helt lätt att förutse. Med anledning av detta då ett företrädaransvar

kan leda till allvarliga konsekvenser för en företrädare och efter som antalet mål i ämnet

ökat dramatiskt de senaste åren är det viktigt att lagen är tydlig så andra än jurister kan tolka

reglerna och på så vis förutse händelseförloppet och undvika fastställandet av ett företrädaransvar.

Ce mémoire explore la relation entre la littérature et le deuil. La première partie, « La nuit comme un visage », constitue un récit de deuil à caractère autofictionnel. Il met en scène une femme qui écrit à son amoureux après que celui-ci l’ait quittée en posant un geste suicidaire. Il lui laisse en héritage un petit paquet contenant des oeuvres de Friedrich Nietzsche, d’Henry-David Thoreau, d’Albert Camus, d’Herman Melville et de Lou-Andréas Salomé. À travers ces lectures, la narratrice entreprend une sorte de pèlerinage pour retracer l’origine de l’insaisissable fissure qui lui avait échappé. Un impératif d’écriture s’impose à elle, envahissant l’espace laissé vacant par la perte. Le récit pose la question des raisons qui enjoignent le sujet à mettre en récit son expérience. La problématique qui sous-tend ce projet est celle des interactions entre l’écriture du deuil et sa résolution. Nous nous attarderons à cette question dans la partie critique : « Les paradoxes de l’écriture du deuil dans La plus que vive et Noireclaire ». L’écriture favorise-t-elle la résolution du deuil ou, au contraire, en révèle-t-elle l’impossibilité ? La poétique du deuil de Christian Bobin sera analysée à partir de cette interrogation.

Ce mémoire propose une analyse des personnages féminins dans l'univers romanesque de l'auteur français Christian Bobin. Cette étude thématique porte sur les romans suivants: La femme à venir (1990), Isabelle Bruges (1992), La folle allure (1995) et Tout le monde est occupé (1999). Nous adoptons une perspective sociologique en nous basant sur l'ouvrage de Nathalie Heinich, États de femme. L'identité féminine dans la fiction occidentale 1, qui dresse l'éventail des différents états de femme tels qu'ils se présentent dans la littérature du XVIII e siècle à aujourd'hui. Nous constatons, pour notre part, que les héroïnes de Bobin assument simultanément différents états, et que leur coexistence confère à leur personnalité richesse et complexité. Les protagonistes se présentent à la fois comme femme-enfant, femme-mère, femme-nature et femme-amoureuse. Elles incarnent ces états de façon symbolique, en préservant l'enfance une fois adulte, en vivant une intimité avec la nature en dépit de leur connaissance du désir et de la sexualité, en partageant les valeurs de la maternité alors qu'elles n'ont pas d'enfant, par leur souci des autres et la création, et en développant des relations libres avec les hommes. In Siedewasserreaktoren ist ein Boreinspeisesystem diversitär wirkend zur Reaktorschnellabschaltung installiert. Dieses System garantiert, dass der Reaktor beim Versagen des Schnellabschaltesystems in einen unterkritischen Zustand überführt werden kann. Der aufgrund der Nachzerfallsleistung entweichende Dampf trägt jedoch ständig einen Teil des eingespeisten Bors in Form von Borsäure mit sich. Da dieser Prozess bisher nicht quantifiziert wurde, ist somit das Eintreten einer Rekrititkalität während der Transiente ohne weitere Untersuchungen nicht auszuschließen. In der vorliegenden Arbeit erfolgt die Erstellung einer fundierten Datenbasis zur Quantifizierung des Borverlusts an verschiedenen Betriebspunkten. Dazu stehen nach vorheriger Konstruktion und Inbetriebnahme zwei Versuchsanlagen zur Verfügung, ein Versuchsautoklav und der Siedewasserreaktor-Simulator BORAN. Das in diesen Versuchsanlagen enthaltene und als Kühlmedium genutzte entionisierte Wasser wird wie bei einem Siedewasserreaktor mit einer hochkonzentrierten Lösung der Borverbindung Dinatrium-Pentaborat-Dekahydrat versetzt. Für weiterführende Untersuchungen findet auch Borsäure Verwendung. Die Bestimmung des Borgehalts der Kondensate des entwichenen Dampfes erfolgt mit Massenspektrometrie mit induktiv gekoppeltem Plasma (ICP-MS). Die durch Variation von Borkonzentration, Temperatur, pH-Wert und Volumendampfgehalt erzeugten Messdaten fließen in einem Flüchtigkeitsmodell in Form einer empirischen Gleichung zusammen, welches in den Thermohydraulikcode ATHLET implementiert wird. Experimente am SWR-Simulator BORAN und entsprechende Rechnungen mit dem modifizierten Code ATHLET von Langzeit-Deborierungstransienten bei unterschiedlichen Randbedingungen bestätigen das Flüchtigkeitsmodell. Gleichzeitig erfolgt mittels dieser Experimente die Validierung des Modells im ATHLET mit hinreichender Genauigkeit. Mit den Ergebnissen aus Rechnungen und Experimenten wird das Boreinspeisesystem in seiner aktuellen Konfiguration bewertet und mit zukünftigen Konzepten verglichen. Schlussendlich erfolgt der Nachweis, dass die Funktionalität des Boreinspeisesystem aus dem Blickwinkel der durchgeführten Analysen, trotz der nachgewiesenen Borflüchtigkeit, die Forderungen der KTA 3103 erfüllt und aufgrund der nachgewiesenen Borflüchtigkeit binnen der ersten beiden Stunden der Transiente keine Rekritikalität verursacht wird
In boiling water reactors a boron injection system as an alternative system is installed to guarantee that the reactor shut down in case of a total or partial ATWS accident. Because of the heat generated by the fission products after shutting down a part of the injected boron is evaporated as boron acid. This process is not characterized quantitatively yet. This is the reason that the incidence of recriticality during a transient cannot be excluded without further research. In the following studies a funded database quantifying the loss of boron is established. The volatility of the boron solution was measured by experiments in a small autoclave and in a boiling water reactor simulator called BORAN after construction. The deionised water used as coolant in the facilities will be enriched with boron by a high concentrated solution of Disodium-Pentaborate-Decahydrate. The measurement of the boron concentration in the condensates of the exhausted vapour is carried out by inductively-coupled-plasma mass-spectrometry (ICP-MS). For additional analysis boron acid is also used. The boron concentration in the vapour mainly depends on the temperature and void fraction of the two-phase-flow. This volatility model in form of an empiric equation is implemented in the thermo hydraulic ATHLET-code. Furthermore the reason of the volatility of the analysed solutions will be discussed within a chemical and physical background. Experiments at the BORAN facility and corresponding calculation with the modified ATHLET-code of long time deboration transients with different boundary conditions prove the volatility model. Thereby the code will be validated with sufficient accuracy. The modified code with an adapted Input-Dataset provides the possibility to calculate transients with the loss of boron. With the consideration of the volatility the demand of the KTA-rule 3103 on the Boron injection system is also grantable

Resumen

It has long been taken for granted that no serious drama work was done in Swedish schools before the 1950s. However, at the Tyringe Helpension – a progressive education girls’ boarding school that existed between the years 1909-1936 – drama was used as a method in many school subjects, as well as for social training. Ester Boman, the founder and principal of Tyringe, even talked about theatre as an experimental laboratory of the humanities. This study explores how that drama work evolved and why it has been forgotten. The study uses traditional history research methods with an emphasison hermeneutics, and with some addition from recent critical text analysis. The educational drama at the Tyringe Helpension is contextualized from five aspects: 1) The life and work of Ester Boman. 2) The private Swedish girls’ school system. 3) The international and the Swedish progressive education movement – Ester Boman was strongly influenced by Sofi Almquist and Ellen Key. She was also a member of the New Education Fellowship. 4) The teaching methods of the Tyringe Helpension as a whole. 5) Previous and contemporary use of drama in education and the theory of the dramatic instinct. The study shows that these five contexts were all important for the evolution of educational drama at the Tyringe Helpension and contributedin making the drama work there exceptionally rich and varied. These contexts are also crucial for the explanation of why this work was so quickly forgotten. However, it also had some importance that the Swedish drama pioneers of the 1950s were not particularly interested in what had been done before

Resumen

This thesis describes studies that were undertaken to evaluate the effect of T.parva infection on the reproductive function of Boran/Friesian cross heifers. The study was conducted in four separate experiments. In Experiments 1 and 2, the animals were monitored for cyclical status post-infection. In Experiments 3 and 4, the infected animals were divided into two groups: one group was monitored for cyclical status and the other for both cyclical and pregnancy status after exposure to a bull. The reproductive function was assessed by routine monitoring of oestrous behaviour, palpation of the genital reproductive tract per rectum and determination of serum progesterone (P4) concentrations. Further, in view of observed acyclicity in the early work, attempts were made to assess the pituitary response to gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) in a group of animals (Ch.5) in an attempt to explain partly the mechanisms involved in the impairment. Animals were monitored for the progression of disease by clinical and parasitological responses. Further, subject to death or sacrifice, a macroscopic and histological examination of target and various other organs and tissues was undertaken in an effort to establish the part played by observable pathological changes in the development of impaired reproductive function. In Experiment 1, ten heifers were infected with 1:20 T.parva stabilate while four others remained as uninfected controls. Two of the infected animals died on days 17 and 29. Clinical reactions in the reovered animals ranged from mild to moderate. P4 profiles and ovarian structures revealed that three of eight recovered animals had luteal dysfunction post-infection although two of the three showed clinical oestrus during this particular period. The other five recovered animals cycled regularly. The results from clinical and pathological studies did not indicate any direct adverse effect of infection on reproductive function. All the four controls cycled throughout the study period.

En el presente trabajo se ha realizado un estudio de los epizoítos y endoparásitos de la tortuga boba (Caretta caretta) en el Mediterráneo occidental. En el apartado de epizoítos, se ha encontrado 39 taxones pertenecientes a los filos Cnidaria, Annelida, Crustacea, Mollusca y Ectoprocta. El hallazgo de algunas de estas especies suscita cierto interés por ser de nueva aparición en el Mediterráneo o por constituir nuevos registros como epizoítos de tortugas marinas en el Mediterráneo o a nivel mundial. Se halló un copépodo harpacticoide perteneciente a la familia Balaenophilidae que muestra rasgos morfométricas propios de una nueva especie, denominada aquí, por el momento, Balaenophilus sp. Asimismo, se ha redescrito el copépodo especialista de C. caretta Balaenophilus umigamecolus a partir de ejemplares procedentes de Japón, tras hallarse nuevos caracteres y corregirse algunos otros respecto a la descripción original. Además, se ha estudiado el hábitat y la alimentación de los copépodos del género Balaenophilus para averiguar la asociación existente con sus hospedadores: B. unisetus, especialista de cetáceos misticetos, y Balaenophilus sp., la especie encontrada por nosotros en el Mediterráneo occidental. El contenido digestivo y el estudio histopatológico de lesiones asociadas a Balaenophilus sp., sugiere que ambas especies se alimentan de tejido del hospedador, compuesto en su mayor parte por queratina. Su asociación exclusiva con ballenas y tortugas marinas podría deberse a su habilidad para explotar este recurso, escaso en el medio marino. Asimismo, se ha realizado por primera vez un estudio cuantificado de algunos determinantes de la diversidad de epizoítos y se ha intentado cuantificar el efecto de la metodología del muestreo sobre los resultados. El presente estudio muestra que la comunidad potencial de epizoítos de cualquier individuo de C. caretta en el Mediterráneo occidental está compuesta por un grupo de especialistas y un conjunto mas variable de generalistas de sustratos flotantes. A diferencia de otros estudios, el análisis sobre las interacciones bióticas de colonización muestra asociaciones globales positivas en especialistas y neutras en las especies no especialistas. No hemos hallado relaciones de exclusión entre especies. La presencia de algas del género Polysiphonia determina la presencia de un núcleo de 3 especialistas frecuentes, Caprella andreae, Hyale grimaldii y Hexapleomera robusta. También se ha confirmado la relación positiva entre la talla de las tortugas y el número de especies de epizoitos. Se han hallado 10 especies de helmintos, todos en el tracto digestivo: 8 trematodos digeneos (Enodiotrema megachondrus, Calycodes anthos, Hemiuroidea spp., Pachypsolus irroratus, Rhytidodes gelatinosus, Orchidasma amphiorchis, Plesiochorus cymbiformis, Pleurogonius trigonocephalus) y 2 nematodos (Kathlania leptura y Anisakis sp. tipo I). Todos ellos son especialistas de tortugas marinas excepto el digeneo Hemiuroidea spp. y el nematodo Anisakis sp. tipo I, considerados accidentales. El estudio de la diversidad de las comunidades helmínticas gastrointestinales de C. caretta revela que éstas constituyen un sistema aislado para el intercambio de parásitos con otros vertebrados marinos. En el Mediterráneo occidental la tortuga boba debe "sostener" su fauna de parásitos especialistas puesto que tampoco los intercambia con otras especies de tortugas marinas. De hecho, las infracomunidades están compuestas por especialistas con prevalencias muy bajas. Esto podría explicarse por el carácter ectotérmico de las tortugas, su gran vagilidad y su amplia dieta. El análisis comparativo de la composición y estructura de las comunidades helmínticas de dos grupos de tortugas de distinto origen (decomisadas y varadas) no reveló diferencias, a pesar de que su dieta sí mostraba diferencias significativas, al menos en dos grupos de presas de gran importancia numérica, los tunicados pelágicos y los teleósteos. Se sugiere que ello se debe a que los digeneos especialistas de las tortugas bobas utilizan gasterópodos y/o bivalvos como hospedadores intermediarios.
This study focussed on the epibionts and endoparasitic fauna in the Loggerhead turtle (Caretta carretta) in the Western Mediterranean.39 taxons belonging 5 epizoite phyla were found. Some of these findings are of special interest since these species have never recorded in the Mediterranean or as epizoites of marine turtles.A comparative morphometric study between a harpacticoid copepod from our samples and Balaenophilus umigamecolus from Japan revealed differences indicative for a new species. Also, an updated description of B. umigamecolus, first described in Japan, was made.Also, a study was carried out in order to find out the type of association between the species of genus Balaenophilus and their hosts, suggesting that these species feed on host tissue, formed mainly of keratin.At the same time, a quantitative study of some limiting factors of the epizoites diversity in C. caretta was carried out, attempting to quantify the effect of the sampling methodology on the results. Our study shows that the potential community of epizoites of individuals of C. caretta in the Western Mediterranean is composed by a group of specialists and a group of non specific fouling species. In contrast to other studies, positive associations were found between the biotic colonization interactions in specialists and neutral associations in the case of non specialist. We did not find exclusive interactions between species. Positive relation between turtle size and season, with number of species of epizoites, was detected. A total of 10 species of helminths were found, 8 digenean and 2 nematodes, all of them in the digestive tract. Except Hemiuroidea spp. and Anisakis sp., both accidental, all species are marine turtle specialists. The gastrointestinal helminth infracommunities of C. caretta are very depauperate, being formed by species that appear in low prevalence, despite their specialist status. The comparative analysis of composition and structure of helminth communities of turtles from two different origins of the Western Mediterranean did not reveal differences, although their diet did show significant differences. It is suggested that this pattern is possibly explained because sea turtle specialist digeneans use gastropods and/or bivalves as intermediate hosts.

En este trabajo se ha estudiado el comportamiento agronómico de la variedad Bobal, a través del seguimiento de su maduración en diferentes condiciones agrológicas y con aportes hídricos diferenciados. También se han ensayado varios sistemas de evaluación del contenido antociánico y fenólico en uvas, y se han correlacionado los contenidos en las uvas con los contenidos finales de los vinos que se han elaborado. El máximo contenido antociánico se aprecia veinte días después del envero en todas las parcelas. La parcela más joven presenta granos de tamaño más pequeño, menor pH, mayor acidez total, mayor contenido en ácido tartárico y menor en ácido málico, menor contenido en azúcares y en antocianos y un nivel medio de fenoles. La parcela ubicada en la zona más cálida y con riego de invierno, presenta granos de tamaño superior, valores altos de pH, menor acidez total, menor contenido en ácido tartárico y mayor en málico, valores intermedios en azúcares y muy bajos en antocianos, fenoles e intensidad colorante. El momento más sensible al aporte hídrico se sitúa entre la brotación y el envero. Se observa un incremento notable de la productividad y del peso del grano con el riego. Se aprecia diferencia en el contenido en antocianos, disminuyendo conforme aumenta la dosis de riego. No se observa influencia en los azúcares, acidez total, pH y ácido tartárico. Se aprecia una disminución en la intensidad colorante. Se obtienen vinos con valores superiores de pH y ácido málico e inferiores de acidez total, ácido tartárico, antocianos, fenoles e intensidad colorante. Los índices de madurez estudiados en uvas de Bobal presentan una variabilidad muy elevada y no se correlacionan con ningún factor de las uvas o de los vinos. Los factores que más influyen en la apreciación de la calidad sensorial de los vinos tintos de Bobal son el contenido en etanol y los contenidos en antocianos y fenoles. Background Hospital-acquired infections are significant cause of morbidity and mortality among hospitalized patients worldwide. Healthcare workers during job are exposed to blood borne pathogens through contact with infected body parts, blood and body fluids. World health organization (WHO) estimated that globally about 2.5% of HIV and 40% of hepatitis viral infected cases are among health workers due to exposures. The most important mechanism of spread of these pathogens is through contaminated hands of the healthcare workers. Standard precautions measures are essential to prevent and control healthcare associated infection among healthcare workers and patients. In developing countries despite the development of detailed guideline for infection control the knowledge of standard precautions is low and not properly applied. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge and practice of health care workers regarding standard precautions and hand hygiene to infectious disease control. Aim The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge and practice of health care workers regarding hand wash and standard precautions to control infectious diseases in BMCH. In addition create awareness among participants and encourage them to practice regularly hand hygiene and standard precautions to control or reduce nosocomial infections in health care facilities Methods The study design is cross-sectional evaluation of healthcare worker knowledge and practices about standard precautions and hand hygiene for infectious disease control. A questionnaire administered to health care workers (doctors and nurses). The questionnaire was divided in two parts and the first part concerns demographic information, asking knowledge and practice. The second part asked opinions about risk and prevention of HAIs. The questionnaire was developed with consultation of other studies of the same kind. It has been pre tested and is finalized for survey. The ethical approval was given by hospital superintendent and informs consent from all study participants. Statistic analysis was done on Excel and statistical software SPSS version 20. Data was described in numbers, percentages and Chi Square test done for association among categorical variables, significant level was considered P= <0.05. Results Two hundred questionnaires were distributed to HCWs in BMCH and 169 completely fill questionnaire were returned. The male gender respondents were 42% and female respondents were 58%. The basic questions about knowledge of hand hygiene and standard precautions were answered well in both categories; about 73% were with sufficient knowledge. The practice of hand hygiene and standard precautions was not satisfactory among both categories; about 47% found with good practice. Differences found in sub groups, young age none trained doctors and nurses answered wrong and shown lack of knowledge. This study found an association of age, profession and job experience with knowledge and practice regarding hand hygiene and standard precautions. Open handed questions described well the major issue regarding HAIs and participants emphasized on risk and prevention methods. Conclusions The respondents were HCWs (doctors and nurses) of both sex and this study found that majority of HCWs have good knowledge and practice about control of HAIs but difference were found in age groups, sex and profession. Above half of the HCWs were not trained for infection control in health facilities, thus getting training of infection control is important but more important is implementation of it during practice.

Compared to natural selection, the use of artificial insemination (AI) and other reproductive technologies rapidly increase the rate of genetic change in any population. In order to achieve success with AI, the semen used to inseminate cows must be of the highest possible quality. When semen is frozen, generally only about 50% of the spermatozoa survive the cryopreservation process. Thus, any factors possibly affecting the survival of spermatozoa through the numerous freezing-thawing steps should be studied, in order to identify the optimal conditions for the survival of spermatozoa. The discovery of protective agents within egg yolk and glycerol was a major milestone in sperm cryopreservation. These agents protect bovine spermatozoa during cooling and freezing procedures and result in increased survival rates. Cryopreservation of spermatozoa has become the most common technique for the preservation of male fertility of genetically superior sires even after their death. Using cryopreserved sperm to artificially inseminate females has become standard practice in commercial dairy cattle herds and the application of this reproductive management tool is also expanding to beef herds worldwide. The use of glycerol as a cryoprotectant for bovine spermatozoa is credited as the reason for the success in bovine semen cryopreservation. The purpose of this research was to quantify the effects of different cooling periods, as well as different glycerol equilibration periods on the post-thaw motility percentages and recovery fractions of semen collected from Boran and Nguni bulls. The research was subdivided into two experiments. In each experiment different cooling and glycerol equilibration times were researched. The first experiment involved shorter cooling times (30, 60, 120 and 240 minutes) with each cooling time followed by several longer equilibration times (4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 h). In the second experiment the cooling and equilibration times from the first experiment were reversed. This resulted in longer cooling times (4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 h) with each cooling time having shorter glycerol equilibration times (30, 60, 120 and 240 minutes). An egg yolk-Tris two-step extender was used in both the experiments. The general trend for the glycerol equilibration periods studied in Experiment 1 was that the resulting overall average post-thaw motility percentage and average recovery fraction increased with longer periods. There was a breed difference when comparing the average post-thaw motility percentages after 4, 5, 6 and 8 h (p<0.05), while the average post-thaw motility percentages also tended to differ after 7 h of equilibration. The general trend observed for equilibration periods used in Experiment 2 was that the average post-thaw motility percentage increased as glycerol equilibration period increased up to 120 minutes, but after 240 minutes of glycerol equilibration, there was a slight decline. The differences in average post-thaw motility percentage after the respective glycerol equilibration periods were not statistically significant. The results of each experiment were used to create a matrix that can be used in practice. The matrix using results from Experiment 1 demonstrated that a cooling period glycerol equilibration period combination of 240 minutes and 7 h resulted in the highest (not significantly different from most other combinations) average post-thaw motility rates. The matrix formed from the results of Experiment 2 demonstrated that an 8 h cooling period combined with a 60 minute glycerol equilibration period yielded the highest (not significantly different from most other combinations), average post-thaw motility percentage.

Birth weight (BW) (n =1277) and weaning weight (WW) (n = 1090) of calves, pregnancy rate (PR) (n = 1386), calf crop born (CCB) (n = 1386), calf crop weaned (CCW) (n = 1294), cowÃ¢ÂÂs weight at palpation (CW) (n = 1474) and cow body condition score (BCS) (n = 1473) were evaluated from 1994 to 2006 in 143 F1 cows sired by Brahman (B), Boran (Bo) and Tuli (T) bulls and born to Angus and Hereford cows. Mouth scores (MS) (n = 139) were assigned to the remaining cows in 2004 and 2005. Fixed effects included sire breed of cow, dam breed of cow, and calfÃ¢ÂÂs birth year/age of cow; random effects included cow and sire of cow. BW and WW were evaluated using the same model and adding gender for both and age for WW. All two-way interactions were tested for significance. CalfÃ¢ÂÂs birth year/age of dam was significant for all traits (P < 0.05) except WW. BW for calves out of F1 B, Bo and T bulls were 35.08, 34.76 and 34.87 kg, respectively, and were not different. WW differed (P < 0.05) for calves out of F1 B, Bo and T cows (235.87, 221.10 and 208.35 kg, respectively). PR (0.922, 0.955 and 0.936, respectively), CCB (0.881, 0.931, 0.890, respectively), CCW (0.848, 0.898 and 0.869, respectively), did not differ among F1 B, Bo and T cows. CW when cows were 8- or 9-year old were 600.78, 514.63 and 513.14 kg, respectively, for F1 B, Bo and T cows, with those sired by B being heaviest (P < 0.05). BCS for B-, Bo- and T-sired cows were 5.23, 5.48 and 5.18, respectively, with F1 Bo cows having highest scores. Higher MS (P < 0.05) were assigned to Bo and B-sired cows (0.95 and 0.94, respectively) compared to T-sired cows (0.78), when both broken and solid incisors were scored 1, and smooth scored 0. When both smooth and broken were scored 0, and solid were scored 1, higher scores were assigned to B- (0.53) compared to T-sired cows (0.24), the Bo-sired cows being intermediate. Higher reproductive rates were found for Boran-sired cows, but Brahman-sired cows weaned heavier calves.

In 2004, mouth scores (MS) (n = 71) were assigned to the remaining females. PR, CCB, CCW, CW, and BCS were evaluated using a model that consisted of sire of dam breed, dam of dam breed, and calf??s birth year/age of dam as fixed effects. Sire of dam within sire breed of dam and dam within sire of dam within sire breed of dam were used as random effects. BW and WW were analyzed using the same model including calf??s gender. Two-way interactions were tested for significance. Year/age was significant for all traits (P < 0.05). Adjusted means for BW for calves out of cows by B, Bo, and T sires were 35.66, 35.38, and 35.59 kg respectively, and were not different (P > 0.05). Adjusted means for WW for calves out of cows by B, Bo, and T sires were 233.4, 220.1, and 208.2 kg respectively, and were significantly different. For both BW and WW, male calves were heavier (P < 0.05) than females. Adjusted means for PR for females sired by B, Bo, and T bulls were 0.914, 0.945, and 0.920, and were not different (P > 0.05). Adjusted means for CCB for females sired by B, Bo, and T bulls were 0.890, 0.943, and 0.910 respectfully, and Bo was higher (P < 0.05) than B. CCW showed the same ranking as CCB with adjusted means of 0.834, 0.887, and 0.857 for cows by B, Bo, and T bulls, with Bo being higher (P < 0.05) than B. CW adjusted means, in the fall of 2002, were 594.29, 519.38, and 517.3 kg. B-sired females were heavier (P < 0.05) than Bo- or T- sired cows. More Bo- (P = 0.013) and B-sired (P = 0.003) cows had solid mouths in 2004 than T-sired cows.

Resumen

This essay is a business history about the Swedish midsized tobacco company J A Boman & Co, previously Ferd Körner and Körner & Boman, which was part of the blooming tobacco industry in Sweden during the 19th century. One purpose of the essay is to fill a gap within both business history in general and the study of tobacco companies in particular, since they both tend to favor studies on larger companies. The other purpose is to find a methodological way to study a smaller sized, older company with very few sources from the actual company. The essay seeks to answer questions about the company’s production history and how it changed over the years. The study takes use of both qualitative and quantitative methods to examine the company and how it developed over time. It is not an essay deeply embedded in theory, it rather seeks to use different theoretical approaches. One approach is a micro level macro theory, that claims that a company only can be understood through the macro level and that the company, itself being the micro level, can deliver exciting new findings that creates a deeper understanding for the macro level. Throughout the essay, the company’s production statistics are examined, and combined with newspaper articles, letters and previous academic works within the field, the essay closes in on answers to the questions that were introduced in the beginning. The examination of the company finds that the midsized company managed to survive through adaptability to its time and circumstances. The company chose to sell their products through merchants instead of directly to the consumers, unlike most of the other tobacco companies at the time. The methodological problem, which was part of the essay’s purpose, was resolved by the combined method described earlier in the abstract, although the essay would admittedly have been better if there had been some papers left from the examined company.

Resumen

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer la influencia de algunos factores agrologicos y tecnologicos sobre la calidad de los vinos tintos de la variedad tinta (Vitis vinifera L.) Bobal en las condiciones de cultivo tradicional de los viñedos situados en Requena. Todas las experiencias se han llevado a cabo en el campo y bodega experimental de la Escuela de Viticultura y Enología de Requena (Diputación de Valencia). El exceso de vigor alarga el ciclo fenologico de la viña , aumaenta la velocidad de crecimiento y peso de madera de poda. Por contra el estrés hídrico reduce la fotosisntesis, favorece la parada de crecimiento, limita el tamaño de las bayas y estimula la sintesis de compuestos fenolicos. Un deficit hidrico moderado puede ser favorable al potencial enologico de la variedades tintas. Para conocer el regimen hidrico de la variedad, se ha medido el potencial hídrico durante los años 2000 y 2001, intentando buscar posibles diferencias respecto a otras variedades como Syrah, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay y Parellada, cultivadas en su mismo entorno. No se encontraron diferencias siginificativas en el potencial hidrico foliar de base para ninguna de ellas. El potencial hidrico a medio dia indica diferencias para el año 2000, y es siginificativo el hecho que la variedad Bobal tenga el potencial menos megativo durante los dos años de estudio. La mayor parte de los vinos de la variedad Bobal se han caracterizado por su bajo grado alcoholico, alta acidez, intenso color y rusticidad de sus taninos. Si se atiende a otros parametros distintos del contenido en azucares y de la acidez el momento optimo de vendimia siempre a supuesto una de las tareas mas dificiles de establecer en los vinos de calidad. Por ello, en este trabajo se han realizado vendimias con diferentes estados de madurez intentando determinar el mejor momento para realizar la vendimia, conjuntamente se analizó la madurez fenolica de las uvas y asi poder
