Resumen
Abstract This paper looks at two closely related Tibeto-Burman languages of Nepal, Chepang and Bhujel, in relation to certain supra-segmental features they possess which are involved in the distinction of minimal pairs. Since these features include pitch and glottalisation, the possible phonemic analyses of these in terms of either a supra-segmental solution (tone) or a segmental one (glottal plosive) are discussed. Given the latter, a non-tonal analysis for the present state of these languages, and the possibilities of one or both of these becoming tonal languages in the future, are considered. Also, Chepang is unusual in possessing a whistled form of speech and the relation of this to the spoken language is described. These features are exemplified in the Appendices by waveforms, fundamental frequency (F0) contours and spectrogram illustrations, and also by sound files.

Resumen
This article examines the writings of the nineteenth-century Indian essayist Bhudeb Mukhopadhyay. Locating the writer within the history of colonial Bengal and a wider world of racial anxieties, it excavates the foundations of Indian conservatism outside the familiar terrain of anti-Muslim ressentiment. It argues that “traditionalist” conservatism in India was a transformative project that sought to intervene in the racial nature of a colonized people, focusing on the reordering of familiality, education, and health. Simultaneously liberating and constraining the individual subject, the interventions were expected to produce a population that, through engaging in a tense dialogue with Europe, could redefine its distinctive body of custom and also repair its perceived degenerative condition.

The palynological assemblage of Jhuran and Bhuj formations of Kutch Basin have many genera in common Araucariacites complex is the dominating group of palynofossils. The assemblage of Bhuj formation differs from that of Jhuran formation in variety of trilete genera and in the frequent occurrence of hilate group (viz., Aequitriradites, Cooksonites, Coptospora, Triporoletes, etc.). The occurrence of hilate group in the assemblages from Jhuran Formation is almost nil. In all, four palynological zones have been recognized, one palynological zone is in Jhuran Formation and the other three zones are in Bhuj Formation. On the basis of palynological data it seems that the Jurassic-Cretaceous boundary lies somewhere in the Upper Member of Jhuran Formation.

Resumen
Madura has a variety of cultures, traditions and customs not widely known by the younger generation. Culture and traditions believed hereditary and constitute the identity of the nation must be maintained and conversed by the nation's successor. One of them is Rasolan tradition in Sumber Jerangoh hill, Mandala Village, Rubaru District, Sumenep Regency, Madura Island. Until now, this tradition is still being carried out as a form of gratitude to the one God and Islamic brotherhood because this tradition has made harmony in the life of social structure, especially in Mandala Village. The society of Mandala Village remains enthusiastic in carrying out the Rasolan procession amid the influence of modern culture which has begun to change the mindset of the society of Mandala Village towards culture. Cultures and traditions need to be published widely to society in various ways to conserve regional culture. The Rasolan tradition carried out by the society of Mandala Village, Rubaru district, Sumenep Regency, Madura Island is an annual tradition as a legacy from ancestors. The Rasolan tradition carried out on the hill named "Sumber Jerangoh". Sumber Jerangoh hill is the place where Bhuju' (read: predecessor) societies Burneh Village are, namely Bhuju' Senam and Bhuju' Seloman. Until now, this place is a place which is considered sacred and highly respected by local society. Apart from the tradition of Rasolan as legacy from ancestors that must be carried out, the Burneh society also carries out a ceremony or ritual in the form of Rasolan on the hill of Sumber Jerangoh as a means to remember the services their Bhegatoah/ predecessors who have sacrificed a lot for the development of Burneh village. Therefore, it is considered important that society always pray for and carry out rituals in the implementation of the Rasolan tradition as a reward or fringe benefit to their processors.

This research aims to find the concept of local cultural tourism based on tanean lanjhang and applicable ways to preserve it by prioritizing the welfare of the surrounding community as well as in a sustainable manner. This qualitative-descriptive study collected data using in-depth interview techniques, participative observation and documentation. The result is that the field of local culture tourism does not only rely on tanean lanjhang, the Nurun Tajalla mosque, the sacred tomb of Bhujuk Jepara, mandhapa, tomang handicrafts and Nyato springs, but on reflection-products in the deepest contents of people's awareness. Preserving culture is ancestral fanaticism. Meanwhile, living in harmony, practice, economy, prosperity and sustainability in MICE-based regional tourism is local wisdom that deserves to be fought for and must be guarded by the Pamekasan authorities.

Resumen
The river Brahmaputra, also known as Luit, has always occupied an important place in the cultural mindscape of the people of Assam, a state in the northeast of India. A source of great pride because of its sheer size and the myths and lore associated with it, it has nevertheless brought untold misery to people over the years because of annual flooding. Authors and musicians of the land have found in the Luit an apt metaphor to tell stories of love, loss, belonging and pain. In the songs of Bhupen Hazarika (1926-2011), a renowned music composer from Assam, the Brahmaputra becomes a character through which the poet expresses both his anguish at the sufferings of the masses and his joy at the all- embracing nature of the valley. In songs like “Mahabahu Brahmaputra”, Hazarika tries to appeal to the people of Assam to maintain harmony and promote the land as one of plurality and hospitality. This song becomes significant when seen in the context of the Assam movement (a six-year long agitation to halt the illegal migration of people from neighbouring Bangladesh) and Hazarika’s own conflicted attitude towards it. This article is an attempt to examine how the Luit has been represented in a selection of Hazarika’s songs – the ways the river becomes a potent presence of deeply political and social overtones and a metaphor to underscore the turbulent history of Assam.

Resumen
SUMMARY The Bhuj area, in the Kutch region of western India, is a unique intraplate seismic zone in the world where aftershock activity associated with a large magnitude earthquake (7.7 Mw Bhuj earthquake on 26 January 2001) has persisted over a decade and up till today. We studied the lithospheric resistivity structure of the Bhuj earthquake aftershock zone to gain more insight into the structure and processes influencing the generation of intraplate seismicity in broad and, in particular, to detect the deep origin and upward migration channels of fluids linked to the crustal seismicity in the area. A lithospheric resistivity model deduced from 2-D and 3-D inversions of long-period magnetotelluric (MT) data shows low resistive lithospheric mantle, which can be best explained by a combination of a small amount of interconnected melts and aqueous fluid in the upper mantle. The MT model also shows a subvertical modestly conductive channel, spatially coinciding with the Kutch Mainland Fault, which we interpret to transport fluids from the deep lithosphere to shallow crust. We infer that pore pressure buildup aids to achieve the critical stress conditions for rock failure in the weak zones, which are pre-stressed by the compressive stress regime generated by ongoing India–Eurasia collision. The fluidized zone in the upper mantle beneath the area perhaps provides continuous fluid supply, which is required to maintain the critical stress conditions within the seismogenic crust for continued seismicity.

Resumen
Newly available optical satellite images with 1-m ground resolution such as IKONOS mean that rapid postdisaster damage assessment might be made over large areas. Such surveys could be of great value to emergency management and post-event recovery operations and have particular promise for earthquake areas, where damage distribution is often very uneven. In this paper three satellite images taken before and after the 26 January 2001 Gujarat earthquake were studied for damage assessment purposes. The images comprised a post-earthquake cover of the city of Bhuj, which was close to the epicenter, and pre- and post-earthquake cover of the city Ahmedabad. The assessment data was then compared with damage surveys actually made on-site. Three separate experiments were conducted. In the first, the satellite image of Bhuj was compared with detailed ground photos of 28 severely damaged buildings taken at about the same time as the satellite image, to investigate the levels and types of damage that can and cannot be identified. In the second experiment, the whole city center of Bhuj was damage mapped using only the satellite image. This was subsequently compared with a map produced from a building-by-building damage survey. In the third experiment, pre- and post-earthquake images for a large area of Ahmedabad were compared and totally collapsed buildings were identified. These sites were subsequently visited to confirm the accuracy of the observations. The experiment results indicate that rapid visual screening can identify areas of heavy damage and individual collapsed buildings, even when comparative cover does not exist. The need to develop a tool with direct application to support emergency response is discussed.

Resumen
The performance of buildings during the January 26, 2001, earthquake in the Kachchh region of the province of Gujarat in India is discussed. A majority of the buildings in the earthquake region were either of load-bearing masonry or reinforced concrete framed structure. Most of the masonry buildings were built with random or coursed stone walls without any reinforcement and heavy clay tile roofing supported on wooden logs. A large number of such buildings collapsed leading to widespread destruction and loss of life. Many reinforced concrete frame buildings had infill masonry walls except in the first storey, which was reserved for parking. As would be expected, the open first storey suffered severe damage or collapsed. Observations of failures confirmed the vulnerability of some structural details that are known to lead to distress. However, an important observation to come out of the earthquake was that masonry infills, even when not tied to the surrounding frame, could save the building from collapse, provided such infills are uniformly distributed throughout the height so that abrupt changes in stiffness and strength did not occur.Key words: Bhuj earthquake, 2001; seismology of Kachchh; earthquake damage survey; performance of buildings; load bearing masonry; reinforced concrete frames; structural details vulnerable to earthquakes.

Resumen
The article argues that in Punjab several Deras are facilitating the elevation of the socio-economic conditions of Dalits through didactics and commandments. It further challenges the varying inimitable dominant agrarian structure of the village/rural society. The dominant strata/caste(s) of the society, however, resists this Dalit assertion by using socio-religious, economic and political forces to maintain the status quo. The present study explores such type of Dalit assertion through a Dera and resistance they encounter from the dominant agrarian caste, Jat Sikhs, of the village. The article employs the political economy approach to analyse the Deras of Punjab, by focusing on Dera Baba Bhure Shah Sappanwala as its critical reference point.

Resumen
Bhuj (2001) and Muzaffarabad (2005) earthquakes of same moment magnitude of Mw : 7.6 occured in different techtonic regions i.e., intraplate and interplate regions of Indo-Eurasian plates respectevely. Keeping this in view, their comparative study has been attempted in this paper. A detailed catalogue of earthquakes has been prepared to study seismicity of Kutchh region by including historical and paleoseismic data. Discussion on seismicity of Muzaffarabad (2005) earthquake is based on IMD catalogoue of earthquakes. Difference has been found between Bhuj (2001) and Muzaffarabad (2005) earthquakes based on their foreshocks, magnitudes of aftershocks and their decay, b-value and their spectra. Though no relation between magnitudes of aftershocks and stress drop could be found but mostly the corner frequency and magnitude are inversely related. Difference in both these large earthquakes (M>=7.6) occurring in different tectonic plate set up is clearly evident from their stress drop. Seismic gap is noticed prior to main event of Muzaffarabad earthquake; which is similar to other Himalayan earthquakes of that region like Uttarkashi (1991) and Chamoli (1999). From the point of view earthquake prediction, the results based on satellite thermal anamolies, ionosphere, electromagnetic and sodar observations reported for these earthquakes are considered to be of limited value due to the large influence of atmospheric parameters. Though approximate displacement measured through GPS is useful for calculating the plate motion but their results to derive large vertical displacement is questionable in any case of Bhuj earthquake due to use of standard radio atmosphere. The errors in such results can be reduced by adopting radio atmosphere for the Indian region. Through a review of methodologies to predict the strong ground motion in the near field, it is evident that further research is called for.

Resumen
ABSTRACT Myoepitheliomas are rare benign neoplasms of salivary glands representing less than 1% of all salivary gland tumors. This tumor is usually located in the parotid gland and less frequently in the submandibular gland and minor salivary glands that are distributed throughout the oral cavity. Diagnosis of tumor is based on evaluation of histological feature, although immunohistochemical analysis confirms the myoepithelial origin of tumor cells and the final diagnosis. Herein, a case of plasmacytoid myoepithelioma of soft palate in an adult male is presented along with review of the literature. How to cite this article Yogee AN, Choudhary R, Mathur N, Bhuie HS. Resumen
This article explores the manuscript of Qur’anic translation written by Bhuju’ Bukkol, a Madurese scholar who lived in the 18th/19th century and whose existence was sacred to the local community. Specifically, this paper seeks to examine the accuracy of his translation from linguistical aspect, as well as the implications of the translation in socio-religious perspective. The focus of the analysis of the translation is directed at the word ‘tukadhdhibān’, whose translation is different from the majority of the Qur’anic translations. By using analytical descriptive method and several translation theories, this paper argues that the translation of the word ‘angeliyoaken’ is categorized into the meaning translation. The translation has linguistically fulfilled the brief and concise elements, but from the aspect of lexical accuracy, the meaning is not correct. On the other hand, the translation of the word is considered communicative, as the accuracy of understanding is quite precise. From the social aspect, the selection of the diction ‘angeliyoaken’ is considered as an effort to find a safe point based on two considerations, namely: not to damage the original understanding of ‘tukadhdhibān’ and not to cause offense to ordinary people who are socially considered quite sensitive

Resumen
There is a total of 1,46,00,000 cubic kilometers of water present on the earth. Out of this, 97 percent is in the oceans, which is not useful for us due to being saline, and 1.6 percent is under the water and 0.001 percent is in the form of vapor and clouds and other glaciers and mountain peaks are in the form of ice. Even in this minimum quantity of available water, the question mark of quality is being raised at some places and the life of every living being found on earth depends on water. Hence its availability is absolutely necessary. The free or free gift of nature, which we consider water, is not free but a valuable gift. So we should understand that every drop of water is precious. If we do not use and conserve and manage water judiciously, then our very existence will be threatened. Thus, in view of the increasing water pollution and the lack of water quality, many types of campaigns and programs have been run by the government from time to time, out of which Heli-Born Survey technology, 'Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain' campaign on World Water Day 2022, Bhujal Badhao Payjal Bachao’ (Enhance Ground Water, Protect Drinking Water) Limca Book of Records in February 2020 is the main campaigns to improve the quality of groundwater. The Union Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh launched the state of the art Heli-Born Survey Technology on October 5, 2021. This project has been developed with the objective of mapping potential groundwater sources and its management to provide safe drinking water to the people in water scarce arid regions of India. This project will make a positive contribution to CSIR's water technologies “Har Ghar Hal Se Jal” scheme from water source discovery to water purification as well as “doubling farmers’ income targets”.
