Resumen
In the present study, wrapping and packaging materials were evaluated for their capacity to decrease the decay losses of guava fruits during storage under ambient conditions (18-22OC and 75-80% RH) at Tej Narayan Banaili College, T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur during the year 2014-2016. Results revealed that post-harvest decay loss can be minimized significantly through proper wrapping or packaging of fruits for storage. Fruits wrapped with heat-shrinkable low density polyethylene film (LDPE, 25 µm thick), or packed up to 30 days of storage in corrugated fibre board (CFB) boxes exhibited low decay losses of 11.9 and 22.8 per cent, respectively. In general, the fruit loss due to fungal attack increased with increasing duration of storage. Altogether 7 fungal species were found associated with rotten fruits during the storge. Botryodiplodia theobromae, was the most prominent post-harvest rotting agent causing 37.5% fruit loss. Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Pestalotia psidii and Alternaria alternata showed 30.8, 25.5 and 16.8% fruit decay losses, respectively. Aspergillus niger (10.6%) Penicillium expansum (7.0%) and Rhizopus stolonifer (4.5%) caused least per cent decay losses of guava fruits.

Resumen
The Diara land is found in between the natural levees of the river and formed due to its meandering and course changing behavior. The topography of Diara land is mostly undulating and intersected with numerous dead and disconnected channels, Remote sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) is a reliable technique to prepare a comprehensive inventory of land use pattern of an area. The present study was carried out to prepare a complete digital map of diara land of Bhagalpur district using spatial software (TNT Mips). On the basis of visual interpretation of the satellite image and physiographic pattern of the land escape, polygons were digitized for area delineation and mapping for diara land. Out of sixteen blocks of Bhagalpur district, only six blocks were identified as an old Diara land (203.26 km2) and thirteen blocks were identified as a new diara land (869.78 km2). Occupied areas viz. Narayanpur, Bihpur, Kharik, Naugachhiya, Ismailpur, Rangra Chowk and Gopalpur blocks were identified under complete diara land. No any one Diara land characteristics ware marked in Shahkund, Goradih and Sanhaula blocks.

Resumen
Crop simulation models have been used to determine potential yield in a given environment. The twenty one years (1990-10) weather data and reported rice yield of Bhagalpur, Ranchi, Kalyani and Jorhat districts of eastern and north eastern region of India were used to simulate the yield under the various management conditions and compared with the reported yield of the districts. The management option included dates of sowing, irrigations and fertilizers application. The potential yield, attainable yield, yield gap etc were computed over the period. The results revealed that the rice yield of Kalyani and Ranchi districts showed increasing trend (30 to 65 kg ha-1yr-1) while decreasing trend was observed in Bhagalpur and Jorhat districts (6 to 9 kg ha-1yr-1). The potential yield simulated by model in different districts varied between 2864 to 4742 kg ha-1, while reported yield varied between 1159 to 2224 kg ha-1. The delay insowing by 15 days caused reduction in rice yield by 31 to 74 kg ha-1day-1 at different locations. The management yield gap was between 1495 to 3216 kg ha-1 while sowing yield gap was between 467.4 to 1114.0 kg ha-1 in different districts under study.

Resumen
Navigation is a fundamental human behaviour and studies reported that males and females differ (favouring males) in their navigating abilities, strategies, and performance in locating targets either on the map or computer-based simulated tasks (Malinowski, 2001; Astur, Ortiz & Sutherland, 1998). At the same time, few studies reported no gender differences when landmarks were consistently present throughout the task of finding the route to the destination in the building. Studies on way-finding strategies found that males and females differ in their orientation strategies, where males preferentially use survey orientation strategies with an emphasis on distances, vectors, and cardinal directions (e.g. north, west) and Females, on the other hand, are in more favour of route based strategies using topographical features including landmarks and relative directions. Keeping in view, the present study is aimed to explore gender differences in wayfinding strategies. A total of 112 (53 male and 59 female) students (mean age 19.68 years and age range from 17 to 24 years) enrolled in the graduate course in different colleges of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur participated in the present study. Independent t-test showed significant gender differences in two different wayfinding strategies favouring males, suggesting that males use route and orientation strategies better than females depending upon context.

Resumen
India is an agriculture-based country which is a very important and ancient enterprise of the whole world. It supplies food, fruit, vegetables, flowers to worship and decorate around the world. Apart from India there are any countries that are dependent on agriculture. It is the backbone of new industries like Sugar, Cotton etc. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sabour, Bhagalpur works in wide array of situations. It deals with sixteen blocks. Few blocks face flood in rainy seasons like Kharik, Naugachhia, Biharpur, Nathnagar, Sultanganj, Goradih and Gopalpur. Few of them have flood daught situations like Pirpainti, Kahalgaon, Sanhawla. Jagdishpur is the only block that always favoured that is hub of Katarni rice production. Katarni rice has GI Lag. Jardalu mango is very juicy tasty mango from Bhagapurl district also having GI tag. Due to poor management practices or there is big gaps/distances between yield and potential yield. Difference in potential yield and yield obtained is the ultimate loss of farmers. This is applied for all crops particularly for Horticultural crops. Because, horticultural crops fullfil the cash crunch of farmers. FAO has published training manual for good agricultural practices for fruit and vegetables crops. This type of manuals should be developed by different area for location specific crops. Bhagalpur has major area of mango, litchi, banana, pointed gourd, tomato. So, the manuals of good practices for these crops will be very productive to the farmers. To attain the potentiality of any crop farmers should follow the GAP (Good Agriculture of Practices) of that crop Naved Sabit et.al (2010) also and vacated for good practices of plant protection in different crops.

Datura stramonium (datura), Curcuma longa (turmeric), Azadirachta indica (neem), Zingiber officinale (ginger), Allium sativum (garlic), Ocimum sanctum (tulsi), Nyctanthus arbortristis (harsringar) and Piper betle (betel/paan) and 4 bioagents viz. Trichoderma harzianum, T. viride, Gliocladium virens and Chaetomium globosum against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (Penz.) Penz. & Sacc., an incitant of fruit rot disease of guava (Psidium guajava Linn.). A maximum inhibition of mycelial growth of pathogen was recorded in garlic clove extract (80%) followed by betel leaf extract (76%), turmeric rhizome extract (74%), neem leaf extract (70%) and ginger rhizome extract (64%). Harsringar leaf extract was found as the least effective (56%). In pre-and post-inoculation tests, all the phytoextracts were found significantly superior in reducing Colletotrichum rot severity on 7 days after treatments as compared to control. Garlic clove extract again proved highly effective in reducing fruit rot severity after 7 days after inoculation in both pre - and post - inoculation treatments. In vitro dual culture experiments, maximum growth inhibition was recorded with T. viride (76.5%) followed by G. virens (72.2%), T. harzianum (67.6%) and least inhibition by C. globosum (44.7%) In both pre - and post- inoculation treatments with antagonists, maximum DRI (disease reduction index) was noticed with C. globosum (69.2 and 62.4%) followed by T. harzianum (51.9 and 56.7%), G. virens (44.8 and 46.9%) and least with T. viride (38.1 and 35.4%). The rot incidence at 8 DAI (days after inoculation) was significantly higher than that at 4 DAI. The hot water fruit dip treatment at 50OC for 5 min was found best for controlling the rot without hampering the fruit quality.

Resumen
The study on efficacy of fungicides against Alternaria blight disease of linseed caused by Alternaria lini was conducted at Research farm of Bihar agricultural university, Sabour, Bhagalpur (Bihar) during Rabi season of 2020-21 to select suitable fungicides against this disease. Six fungicides were evaluated in vitro and in vivo condition. The results revealed that all the tested fungicides showed significantly better performance to minimize the Alternaria blight disease over control. Among the tested fungicides, Propiconazole 25 EC proved the best at all the concentrations (100, 150 and 200 ppm) as it showed 100% of mycelial growth inhibition over control. In the field condition too, Propiconazole 25EC proved superior among all the fungicides with the lowest disease severity (10.66%). It showed the highest disease control over check (77.6 %) and also highest yield (884.33 kg ha-1) which was followed by Azoxystrobin 23%SC and Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP.

Resumen
Aflatoxin- producing fungi like Aspergillus flavus contaminate maize crops in the agricultural field at harvest, post- harvest, and during storage making them one of the most widespread and dangerous mycotoxins. It has been directly correlated to adverse health effects, such as liver cancer in many animal species as well as plant systems. Maize samples were collected from seven districts of Bihar viz, Begusari, East Champaran, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Madhepura, and Samastipur. The collected sample was examined for associated mycoflora and aflatoxin-producing prospective of Aspergillus flavus. It was determined that A. flavus was of presiding occurrence accompanied by Penicillium spp., Fusarium, A. nigar, Rhizopus, Trichoderma, Mucor and A. ochraceus. 119 strains of the total A. flavus isolates were toxigenic, producing aflatoxin B1, B2, and G1. The highest Aflatoxin is all probability due to complementary environmental conditions, undeveloped agricultural practices, poor storage circumstances of grains, and because of yearly flood problems in this region.

Resumen
The notion of place-attachment establishes a place-based identity, forging connectivity between place, psychology, and ecology. Exploring this tripartite connection, the paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of the novel Aranyak (1939) by acclaimed Bengali writer Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. The paper demonstrates how an individual manifests place attachment, sense of self, and identity in relation to the forestscape of Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Labtulia. Therefore, incorporating Lawrence Buell’s idea of place attachment and Arne Naess’s concept of ecological self, the paper attempts to unveil a sense of self-embeddedness shaped by an individual’s lived experiences and attachments with the ecology of the forest. The essence of a place ecology retains its impression upon the subconscious of the central character, Satyacharan. His comprehension of Aranya or the forest stems from the mycelial attachment of his psyche with the psyche of the place. This cultivates a profound sense of belongingness, echoing the notion of Dasein or being in the world in relation to forest ecology, central to our ecocritical exploration.
