Resumen
Reversible data hiding is a technique for embedding secret data into a cover media. Such technique has the ability to recover marked cover media to its original version after extracting the secret data. In this paper, a new reversible data hiding algorithm for videos H.264/AVC is proposed to improve the embedding capacity while the distortion drift is prevented. To embed the secret data into videos H.264/AVC without any intra-frame distortion drift, in our proposed scheme, the relationship of QDCT coefficients is explored. Then, a coefficient pair mapping mechanism in 2D histogram is introduced for embedding data. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed scheme obtains reversibility. The proposed scheme prevents intra-frame distortion drift on the marked videos. In addition, the embedding capacity of the proposed scheme is superior to that of existing schemes while guaranteeing the high visual quality of marked videos.

Resumen
The reliable transmission of multimedia information that is coded through highly compression efficient encoders is a challenging task. This article presents the iterative convergence performance of IrRegular Convolutional Codes (IRCCs) with the aid of the multidimensional Sphere Packing (SP) modulation assisted Differential Space Time Spreading Codes (IRCC-SP-DSTS) scheme for the transmission of H.264/Advanced Video Coding (AVC) compressed video coded stream. In this article, three different regular and irregular error protection schemes are presented. In the presented Regular Error Protection (REP) scheme, all of the partitions of the video sequence are regular error protected with a rate of 3/4 IRCC. In Irregular Error Protection scheme-1 (IREP-1) the H.264/AVC partitions are prioritized as A, B & C, respectively. Whereas, in Irregular Error Protection scheme-2 (IREP-2), the H.264/AVC partitions are prioritized as B, A, and C, respectively. The performance of the iterative paradigm of an inner IRCC and outer Rate-1 Precoder is analyzed by the EXtrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) Chart and the Quality of Experience (QoE) performance of the proposed mechanism is evaluated using the Bit Error Rate (BER) metric and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR)-based objective quality metric. More specifically, it is concluded that the proposed IREP-2 scheme exhibits a gain of 1 dB Eb/N0 with reference to the IREP-1 and Eb/N0 gain of 0.6 dB with reference to the REP scheme over the PSNR degradation of 1 dB.

Resumen
H.264/AVC is a widespread standard for high definition video (HD) for example DVD and HD videos on the internet. To prevent unauthorized modifications, video authentication can be used. In this paper, we present a cryptanalysis of a H.264/AVC video authentication scheme proposed by Saadi et al. [1] at EUSIPCO 2009. Our result will prevent situations where newer schemes are developed from the scheme thus amplifying the flaw. The designers claimed that the scheme can detect modifications on watermarked video. However, we show that an attacker can modify the watermarked video and compute a valid watermark such that the recipient will retrieve a watermark from the modified watermarked video that will match what the recipient computes during video authentication check. Thus, the recipient will think the tampered video is authentic. The first main problem of the scheme is its use of hash functions for watermark generation. Since hash functions are public functions not depending on any secret, the attacker can modify the watermarked video and feed this through the hash function to compute a new watermark. The second problem is that it is possible for the attacker to perform watermark embedding thus producing a modified watermarked video. On receiving the modified video, the recipient recomputes the watermark and compares this with the watermark extracted from the video. They will match because the embedded watermark and recomputed watermark use the same hash function based watermark generation and the same input i.e. the modified video. Our cryptanalysis strategy applies to any watermarking based video authentication scheme where the watermark and embedding are not functions of secrets. As countermeasure, the functions should be designed so that only legitimate parties can perform them. We present two improved schemes that solve this problem based on private key signing functions and message authentication functions respectively.

Resumen
H.264/AVC is adopted as a next generation moving picture compression standard. Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC) is the major entropy coding algorithm employed in H.264/AVC. Although the performance gain of H.264/AVC is mostly resulted from CABAC, it is difficult to implement a high-throughput decoder due to its decoding complexity. Although CABAC excludes a multiplication, the algorithm is basically sequential and needs large computations to compute some important variables, which are range, offset and context variables. Therefore, it is difficult to achieve fast decoding performance. In this paper, a prediction scheme is proposed to decode maximally two bits at a time and thus to reduce overall decoding time. A CABAC decoder based on the proposed prediction scheme reduces total cycles by 24% compared to conventional decoders.

Resumen
A reliable video communication system is proposed based on data partitioning feature of H.264/AVC, used to create a layered stream, and LT codes for erasure protection. The proposed scheme termed rate adaptive selective segment assignment (RASSA) is an adaptive low-complexity solution to varying channel conditions. The comparison of the results of the proposed scheme is also provided for slice-partitioned H.264/AVC data. Simulation results show competitiveness of the proposed scheme compared to optimized unequal and equal error protection solutions. The simulation results also demonstrate that a high visual quality video transmission can be maintained despite the adverse effect of varying channel conditions and the number of decoding failures can be reduced.

Resumen
In this paper, active control of periodic transient vibration based on repetitive control (RC) algorithm is studied. According to the stability condition of an active vibration control (AVC) system, a novel non-causal stable inversion approach combined with an optimal criterion is used to design the RC controller for an AVC system with a non-minimum phase secondary path. Computer simulations have been carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The plant model used in the computer simulations is obtained from a practical AVC system in our laboratory. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can significantly reduce periodic transient vibration and the convergence rate is acceptable for a non-minimum phase plant.

Resumen
This paper presents an active vibration control (AVC) system for trailed two-wheeled implements (TTWI) equipped with high precision electronic devices. With the aim of isolating disturbance forces to the devices, a hydraulically actuated vibration control system is devised. In order to suppress vibratory motions to the body components, considering the TTWI system characteristics, a vibration control and a force tracking control strategy is adopted. As the vibration controller, the adaptive and skyhook control schemes are applied. From full order and reduced order model for the actuating module, as the tracking controller, the sliding mode control scheme is adopted regarding parameter variations. On the basis of the roll plane TTWI system model, simulation work is performed. Finally, after implementation of the experimental setup with the TTWI system and the road simulating module considering practical requirements, actual performance of the devised AVC system is evaluated in various disturbance conditions.

Resumen
Data hiding is a technique that allows secret data to be delivered securely by embedding the data into cover digital media. In this paper, we propose a new data hiding algorithm for H.264/advanced video coding (AVC) of video sequences with high embedding capacity. In the proposed scheme, to embed secret data into the quantized discrete cosine transform (QDCT) coefficients of I frames without any intraframe distortion drift, some embeddable coefficient pairs are selected in each block, and they are divided into two different groups, i.e., the embedding group and the averting group. The embedding group is used to carry the secret data, and the averting group is used to prevent distortion drift in the adjacent blocks. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can avoid intraframe distortion drift and guarantee low distortion of video sequences. In addition, the proposed scheme provides enhanced embedding capacity compared to previous schemes. Moreover, the embedded secret data can be extracted completely without the requirement of the original secret data.

Resumen
A robust H.264/AVC video watermarking scheme for copyright protection with self-adaptive drift compensation is proposed. In our scheme, motion vector residuals of macroblocks with the smallest partition size are selected to hide copyright information in order to hold visual impact and distortion drift to a minimum. Drift compensation is also implemented to reduce the influence of watermark to the most extent. Besides, discrete cosine transform (DCT) with energy compact property is applied to the motion vector residual group, which can ensure robustness against intentional attacks. According to the experimental results, this scheme gains excellent imperceptibility and low bit-rate increase. Malicious attacks with different quantization parameters (QPs) or motion estimation algorithms can be resisted efficiently, with 80% accuracy on average after lossy compression.

Resumen
We present novel schemes for optimal OFDMA bitrate allocation towards video quality maximization in H.264 scalable video coding (SVC)-based 4G wireless systems. We use the rate and quality models for video characterization of the SVC extension of the H.264/AVC and develop the framework for optimal scalable video transmission. Subsequently, we derive the closed form solution of the optimal H.264 scalable video quantization parameter for sum video quality maximization in unicast and multicast 4G WiMAX adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) scenarios. We also formulate a Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG) auction-based time-frequency (TF) resource pricing scheme for dynamic bitrate allocation and simultaneous prevention of video quality degradation by malicious users for H.264-based scalable video transmission. Simulation results demonstrate that application of the proposed optimal 4G OFDMA schemes for unicast/multicast video quality maximization yield significantly superior performance in comparison to fixed rate video agnostic allocation.

The paper proposes a Closed-loop test method combining Real Time Digital Simulation system (RTDS) with reactive optimization procedures to simulate and optimization the status of actual grid. An optimal control scheme of the actual grid from the new method can be used to judge the advantages and disadvantages of actual AVC system. Simulation tests show online RTDS-based power system reactive power and voltage control simulation is good. Resumen
Aiming at the deficiencies of notch filters on the aspect of vibration suppression for elastic missile with swing nozzle thrust vector control (SNTVC), an active vibration controller (AVC) is proposed. It is composed of an optimal state feedback controller (OSFC) and an optimal minimal order state observer (OMOSO), which can be respectively designed based on the separation principle. The design rules of these two elements are successively given. Computer simulation results present that AVC can realize strong vibration suppression and good convergence property after disturbing. Moreover, it has simple design and then it is easily implemented in engineering. In addition, the AVC scheme can also resolve the poor system stability to a great extent, which is resulted from the bad static stability of missile body.

In order to enables the video to be displayed on a multitude of different terminals, Multi-view video coding (MVC) demands high compression rates as well as view scalability. A new the inter-view prediction structure with flexibility, MVC compatibility and view scalability is proposed. The proposed scheme first correct views. It then uses the position of the cameras and the relation of inter-views to divide all views into base view and enhancement views. Finally, the views quire by the viewers use scalable Multi-view Video Coding (SMVC). The main bitstream is the same as a H.264/AVC mono-sequence bitstream for H.264/AVC compatibility. The auxiliary bitstream come from enhancement views coding. We proposed SMVC scheme is tested with two Multi-view sequences to determine its flexibly view scalability, high coding efficiency and random access performance.

Resumen
Rate estimation is useful for many H.264/AVC applications including rate-distortion optimization (RDO) for fast mode decision and precise rate control. In this paper, we propose a new header rate prediction model and an adaptive algorithm to provide more accurate estimation of the number of total coding bits for rate control compared to previously proposed methods. The header bit rate estimation is modeled by a linear combination of the number of mode block, and the sum of absolute values of all motion vectors for each block. Based on the proposed model, a header rate estimation function is also proposed to give a more accurate rate-distortion rate control. The proposed schemes can achieve better results in rate-distortion and rate control to previously proposed approaches.

Resumen
Background: High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is a recent video compression standard. It provides better compression performance compared to its predecessor, H.264/AVC. However, the computational complexity of the HEVC encoder is much higher than that of H.264/AVC encoder. This makes HEVC less attractive to be used in real-time applications and in devices with limited resources (e.g., low memory, low processing power, etc.). The increased computational complexity of HEVC is partly due to its use of a variable size Transform Unit (TU) selection algorithm which successively performs transform operations using transform units of different sizes before selecting the optimal transform unit size. In this paper, a fast transform unit size selection method is proposed to reduce the computational complexity of an HEVC encoder. Methods: Bayesian decision theory is used to predict the size of the TU during encoding. This is done by exploiting the TU size decisions at a previous temporal level and by modeling the relationship between the TU size and the Rate-Distortion (RD) cost values. Results: Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves a reduction of the encoding time of the latest HEVC encoder by 16.21% on average without incurring any noticeable compromise on its compression efficiency. The algorithm also reduces the number of transform operations by 44.98% on average. Conclusion: In this paper, a novel fast TU size selection scheme for HEVC is proposed. The proposed technique outperforms both the latest HEVC reference software, HM 16.0, as well as other state-of-the-art techniques in terms of time-complexity. The compression performance of the proposed technique is comparable to that of HM 16.0.

Resumen
In the paper, the influence of harmonic was taken into consideration during the realization of the AVC system in the power grid of Wuhu region, relevant study and development were conducted from the perspective of application and practice, and concrete proposal of practicable reactive voltage power optimization was put forward. The system adopted two-layer control plan: whole-network coordination layer and execution layer within transformer substation. Optimization algorithm adopted the reactive power optimization method with relaxed constraints so as to improve the convergence and computation speed of reactive power optimization. To control the impact of harmonic, a hybrid active power filter scheme which was made up of passive power filter and active power filter was adopted, thus improving the cost performance of the AVC system. The result of applying the AVC system in the power grid of Wuhu region shows that the system is stable and reliable, obviously decreasing the operation times of equipment and improving the voltage qualified rate and power factor of panel point.

Resumen
This paper presents a new sample-level filtering order for the Deblocking Filter process of the H.264/AVC video coding standard to be used instead of the traditional block-level order presented in previous works. This processing order allows a better exploration of the parallelism in the filtering process by reducing data dependencies in comparison to other works. The proposed sample-level order allows four parallel and independent samples filtering simultaneously, completing one complete macroblock filtering in fewer cycles and requiring less memory space than the related works. The proposed filtering order can be applied to the Deblocking Filter presented in a conventional H.264/AVC encoder or decoder and to the H.264/SVC interlayer Deblocking Filter. When compared to the original H.264/AVC filter and to the best related work found in the literature, the proposed scheme achieves a reduction of 72% and 25% in the number of clock cycles and a memory usage decrease of 75% and 43%, respectively.

Resumen
This paper focuses on two kinds of bi-objective topology optimization problems with uniform-stress constraints: compliance-volume minimization and local frequency response–volume minimization problems. An adaptive volume constraint (AVC) algorithm based on an improved bisection method is proposed. Using this algorithm, the bi-objective uniform-stress-constrained topology optimization problem is transformed into a single-objective topology optimization problem and a volume-decision problem. The parametric level set method based on the compactly supported radial basis functions is employed to solve the single-objective problem, in which a self-organized acceleration scheme based on shape derivative and topological sensitivity is proposed to adaptively adjust the derivative of the objective function and the step length during the optimization. To solve the volume-decision problem, an improved bisection method is proposed. Numerical examples are tested to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the self-organized acceleration scheme and the AVC algorithm based on the improved bisection method. An extended application to the bi-objective stress-constrained topology optimization of a structure with stress concentration is also presented.

Resumen
The current trend of digital convergence leads to the need of the video encoder/decoder (codec) that should support multiple video standards on a single platform as it is expensive to use dedicated video codec chip for each standard. The paper presents a high performance circuit shared architecture that can perform the quantization of five popular video codecs such as H.264/AVC, AVS, VC-1, MPEG-2/4, and JPEG. The proposed quantizer architecture is completely division-free as the division operation is replaced by shift and addition operations for all the standards. The design is implemented on FPGA and later synthesized in CMOS 0.18 μm technology. The results show that the proposed design satisfies the requirement of all five codecs with a maximum decoding capability of 60 fps at 187 MHz on Xilinx FPGA platform for 1080 p HD video.

Resumen
This paper examines the impact of data partitioning form on wireless network access control and proposes a selective dropping scheme based on dropping the partition carrying intra-coded macroblocks. Data partitioning is an error resiliency technique that allows unequal error protection for transmission over ‘lossy’ channels. Including a per-picture, cyclic intra-refresh macroblock line guards against temporal error propagation. The authors show that when congestion occurs, it is possible to gain up to 2 dB in video quality over assigning a stream to a single IEEE 802.11e access category. The scheme is consistently advantageous in indoor and outdoor wireless scenarios over other ways of assigning the partitioned data packets to different access categories. This counter-intuitive scheme for access control purposes reverses the priority usually given to partition-B data packets over that of partition-C.

Resumen
In inter-frame coding of H.264/AVC standard, not only seven inter-partition modes but also intra-modes are taken into account for seeking the best coding mode so as to maintain higher encoding efficiency by sacrificing the speed of H.264/AVC encoder. Aiming at intra-skip, this paper proposes a novel mathematical model for intra-skip in inter-frame coding to alleviate the complexity of the process; the model provides remarkable performance increment by cutting down encoding time while accompanying very minor bitrate increase. The critical advantage of this proposed scheme most emphasized on is that it can optimize H.264 encoder in conjunction with any proposed fast inter- and intra-methods which are focusing on inter-partition mode decision, motion search algorithms, and fast intra-algorithms.
