Resumen
Studies on Islamic education and Islamic propagation (dakwa) have not addressed the aspect of how particular actors fund their missions in Islamic education and dakwa. Based on a case study at Hidayatullah Islamic boarding school or Pesantren Hidayatullah, this article tries to correlate the issue of public fundraising and the financing of Islamic education and dakwa mission in contemporary Indonesia. Pesantren Hidayatullah conducts public fundraising program by forming a charity organization, namely Baitul Maal Hidayatullah (BMH). The finding reveals that the majority of the fund raised from public is used to finance Hidayatullah’s schools and dakwa missions. This finding is in contrast to what have been suggested by other studies stating that charitable fund is supposed to be distributed back to the community based on the need criteria. Resumen
Vision and mission are important elements in shaping the identity and direction of an organization. The vision sets long-term goals, while the mission determines the strategic steps to achieve them. However, sometimes complexity arises when implementing the vision and mission, especially when there are differences in the scientific paradigm called the dichotomy of science. The dichotomy of science involves a distinction between seemingly contradictory scientific concepts, such as qualitative vs. quantitative approaches, theory vs. practice, and other scientific disagreements. This challenge can have an impact on the implementation of the vision and mission of an organization and the advancement of science in it. This study aims to investigate the complex relationship between organizational vision and mission with the dichotomy of science. This research uses qualitative methods with literature review, collecting data from books by Buya Hamka and other papers that discuss it. Through a deep understanding of the role of vision and mission in the context of science dichotomy, this research provides valuable insights for decision makers and organizational leaders. Analysis of the complex relationship between vision and mission with the dichotomy of science aims at helping to design holistic and effective strategies to achieve organizational goals, while advancing knowledge in the field in question.

Resumen
International peacekeeping mission is an important mechanism in the aspect of contemporary international conflict management. Since its first implementation by United Nations (UN) wayback in 1948, it attracted interest and participation from many countries in the organization. This includes the Islamic countries. Since the end of the Cold War era in the late 1980s, Islamic countries emerged as among the leading participant and troop contributor to international peacekeeping mission especially the mission organized by the UN. Half of the top-ten troop contributors to the current UN mission today are the Islamic countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia and Ghana. Even though Islamic countries had been contributing actively in numerous UN missions, nothing much were known about it. This article discussed in brief about the scenario of Islamic countries participation in international peacekeeping mission by referring to the mission organized by the UN and non-UN organizations since its early years to the present time. The approach use in this article are historical analysis and content analysis. This article concluded that, firstly, this scenario served as an evidence of Islamic countries un-ending support to the UN as a world governing body; secondly, national interest and not religious interest seems to be the primary driving factor of Islamic countries participation in peacekeeping; and finally, while Islamic countries continued its active participation in this areas of contribution, it nevertheless had to familiarize itself with the impacts and challenges that it currently faced which maybe will limited its noble effort to continue its support to international peacekeeping mission in the near future.

Resumen
Purpose It is believed that the core aim of Islamic institution is idiosyncratic from conventional business entities. Considering this presumption, this study aims to reveal the understandings of various stakeholders about objectives of Islamic banks. Design/methodology/approach The research endeavor is based on the findings of two distinctive studies, where Study 1 was aimed at investigating the communication of objectives through mission statements of Islamic banks and conventional banks with window operations. Here, mission statements were analyzed using content analysis and readability and understandability tests. Study 2, on the other hand, was aimed at investigating the understandings of various stakeholders, both internal (employees) and external (Muslim and non-Muslim customers of both Islamic and conventional banks, employees and management of conventional banks and business students). In total, 370 responses were received and analyzed in this study. Findings The findings (Study 1) unveil, the fact, that the mission statements of Islamic banks working in Pakistan are not good at communicating the corporate goals clearly. Out of ten banks investigated for Study 1, it is evident that only one bank (HBL, with window operations) was at par with readability threshold standards. Thus, it was imperative to share that mission statements of Islamic banks are difficult to read and comprehend. Study 2 adds further by revealing that most of the stakeholders are not clear about the objectives of these banks, while customers of conventional banks do not value the distinctive objectives of Islamic banks. Research limitations/implications This study leaves a valuable message for the policy makers and top management of Islamic banks by focusing on the unattended part on their end, i.e. quality of mission statements and stakeholders’ perception about the objectives of their organization, thus highlighting the needs of greater emphasis on the communication flow to stakeholders, as the clarity of business purpose may change the way customers react toward the business and opt for banking – customer relation in future. Originality/value This study covers a multi-dimensional investigation of the understanding and communication of objectives of Islamic banks. There is dearth of literature focusing on the aspects of content analysis, mission statement readability and understandability and investigation of stakeholders’ perception in tandem.

Resumen
University students are young figures who are responsible as the nation successors thus they should have the vision and mission of nationality. However, this ideal condition can apparently not found in all universities. For example, the movement of the student organization at Muhammadiyah University Kendari was proven as not having the vision and mission of nationality. This study employed qualitative methods to describe the student organization at the University of Muhammadiyah Kendari. The findings reveal that: firstly, the university banned the growth and development of religious organizations other than IMM. Secondly, despite the university ban, student organization such as Gema Pembebasan (i.e. the development of HTI) kept appearing. Student religious movement on one hand is an encouraging phenomenon in the Islamic dawah and education. However, when it is not supervised with the concept of nationalism, the student organization of this kind will lead to radical movements in religious organizations.

Resumen
Up to 1945 university education in Australia had little sense of engagement with any cultural traditions outside those of Western Europe. It was only in the aftermath of World War II that Australians began to realize that while their nation had powerful allies in Britain and America, nations with whom it had ties of kin and culture, it had on its doorstep in neighboring Southeast Asia and not so distant Northeast Asia, neighbors who might become both friends and close partners in regional associations. These were also the years during which the Australian government decided as a matter of policy to develop postgraduate studies in Australia so that Australians should no longer as a matter of course go to Britain for higher degrees. Both these factors came together in the establishment in 1946 of the Australian National University, an institution with an exclusive mission for post-graduate training. Significantly, among its foundation schools was the Research School of Pacific Studies, which included departments of Pacific History and Far Eastern History.

Resumen
This study aims to examine Islamic narratives heard at mosques and in study groups in the greater metropolitan area of Jakarta, Indonesia. The article asks if youth and leaders of youth organizations in Jakarta are receptive to radical/terrorist discourse or if they deliberate and weigh what certain narratives mean. Qualitative in-depth interviews were conducted with 24 subjects. These included Rohani Islamic group leaders who hold extracurricular study groups after middle and high school classes, as well as Islamic Mission organizations or Lembaga Da’wah Kampus (LDK—literally translates as Campus Mission Organization; they are some senior students and may invite Islamic scholars or themselves teach Islam and preach to students who are willing to learn Islam specially only at the university as an extracurricular activity; in this article, we translate it as Islamic Mission organization.). which exist on Jakarta’s university campuses where radical narratives are discussed. Other organizations and their leaders were also included. Questions posed to members of these organizations by the authors of this article asked if they accepted, rejected, or negotiated certain ideas regarded as radical by the Indonesian government. Respondents were asked if they believed violent acts against non-reform Muslims and non-Muslims were justified. Respondents were also asked if the Indonesian constitution, Pancasila, should continue its secular democratic legal format, or if it should be replaced by sharia law. Ultimately, most informants took more moderate stances, somewhere in between pure secularism and pure radical terrorism. In this way, this study disproves scholars such as Martin van Bruinessen (2013) who claim that Indonesian Islam is becoming more conservative, and others such as Harsono who claim Indonesian Islam is becoming more violent. While violence was condoned by some respondents, this article reveals that a majority of respondents rejected the view that sharia law should prevail. Ultimately most respondents in this study decided a balanced viewpoint was the best. Thus, this article reveals the degree of moderation of most Jakarta residents, and the nuance and depth of consideration that devout individuals give to a range of contemporary ideas as they negotiate their stance on religion, the state, and their local identities.

Resumen
A Flood disaster struck the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in July 2010. It affected 3 million people and caused 1,400 deaths. Humanitarian Medical Assistance (HuMA) is a non-profit organization in Japan. The organization dispatched three personnel to Islamabad on 20 August in order to conduct an initial needs assessment. They discovered that medical assistance and supplies could not reach all of the victims, especially in the North. Their visits to the surrounding regions highlighted the Nowshera district of KPK province, which had not received enough assistance from the government or aid organizations despite the fact that there were thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) with health issues such as diarrhea, eye and skin disease, and upper respiratory tract infection (URTI). On 03 September, the HuMA Disaster Relief Mission began with the purpose of providing medical treatment and promoting public health for the flood victims in the Nowshera District. Eleven medical providers and coordinators from HuMA operated field mobile clinics in the district in collaboration with a local counterpart non-governmental organization, Nippa Welfare Association (NWA). This project was supported financially by the grant funding from Japan Platform. Humanitarian Medical Assistance served seven sites in Nowshera Districts as mobile field clinics, and consulted 2,216 patients. Total distribution of disease was: (1) URTI = 18.1%; (2) skin disease = 17.9%; (3) musculoskeletal = 15.2%; and (4) others = 19.7%. The team considered continuous medical consultation in the Nowshera District after 2010. The HuMa medical activities ended at the end of September, and the organization donated multi-vitamin tablets, syrups, FE tablets, and anti-biotic cream in order to assist NWA's continuing assistance for the affected communities. The medical providers also left lists of medicines for local doctors and medical staff. Humanitarian Medical Assistance also provided basic supplies needed to prevent victims from experiencing further sanitation problems.

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is a big organization in Indonesia and it spreads to the entire areas in Indonesia from Aceh to Papua. In central area of Indonesia, precisely in Banjarmasin, NU can exists and recruits a lot of followers who are generally Pesantren-graduates, which are called "Nahdliyyin". This paper employed a science of da'wah approach with a focus on "NU's pattern of da'wah in Banjarmasin", which includes verbal, action, and written models of preaching (da'wah bil lisan, bil hal wa bil kitab). This showed that NU tends to use verbal and action model of da'wah rather than the written one, such as magazine, newspaper, and so on. This differs from other Islamic organizations such as Muhammadiyah and Al-Irsyad in Banjarmasin. However, the contribution of NU in developing and spreading da'wah and NU's mission is significant despite the fact that it is carried out personally and not on behalf of the organization to which the community can look and recognize it as NU's Islamic preaching.

As time goes by and the development of the era, the school begins to follow current developments, financial management has been carried out systematically, which is carried out with banks. However, in my opinion, even though the school has collaborated with the bank, the two banks are not Islamic banks.

Resumen
This article describes a religious movement figure in post-Reformation Indonesia (1998), namely Habib Rizieq Shihab, who had a mass organization considered radical, namely the Islamic Defenders Front. This article answers the accusation that Shihab was anti-state politics, anti-Pancasila, anti-the Republic of Indonesia, and was intolerant of anyone different from the movement he had led. This study uses the content analysis method, namely analyzing the ideas in Shihab's writings and lectures to reveal his Islamic political ideology. This study found that Shihab's theology was Ashary and Shafiy Sunni with Alawiy Tareqat order. The Muslim Brotherhood influenced Shihab's thoughts and Al-Maududi's ideas, namely, aspiring to an Islamic state or formalizing religious constitutional law into a condition known as Islamic law. At the local level, Shihab was influenced by the local scholar M. Natsir. However, Shihab's political Islamic thought results gave distinctive features and differed from the existing typology. Shihab accepted Pancasila as the basis of the state. However, the "Shari'ated Indonesia" concept was a theistic concept perceived as implementing the Islamic caliphate vision and mission and the reincarnation of the 1945 Jakarta Charter Pancasila.

Resumen
In the industrial era 4.0, the major crisis faced by Islamic educational institutions is the exemplary crisis. Exemplary is closely related to leadership which is also one of the important and even crucial factors in an educational institution. Leadership is a source of aspirational power that can trigger the growth of spirit, morality and creativity of every stakeholder involved to work together and collaborate so that the vision, mission and goals of educational institutions can be realized effectively. In the context of Islamic educational institutions, leadership has complex dimensions. Leaders in Islamic education are not only required to have managerial skills but are also required to have the ability to instill Islamic religious values within the organization. Prophetic leadership so far is believed to be the ideal conception of leadership in Islamic educational institutions, apart from being sourced from Islamic religious values, prophetic leadership also has a rule model that can be used as an example as well as a role model so that the conception of prophetic leadership is not a utopian one. It is hoped that through prophetic leadership it can raise the enthusiasm and performance of Islamic educational institutions so that the ideals of Islamic education in this millennial era can be realized.

This article discusses religious mobility in the lives of urban Muslim society in Australia by investigating organizational projects and religious practices. This paper uses ethnographic fieldwork consisting of in-depth interviews and hang-out in the organization meeting and gatherings among urban Muslim society in Australia. This paper argues that although urban Muslim society in Australia is associated with a Muslim minority, they contribute significantly to the development of Islamic education, Islamic altruism, and spirituality performance. Urban Muslim society in Australia demonstrates social sensitivity by establishing social institutions to show their embodied Muslim identity, such as Islamic Society of Melbourne Eastern Region (ISOMER) in Melbourne, Islamic Science and Research (ISRA) in Sydney, and Australian Sufi Association (ASA). They show their religious mobility as well as their religious practices as part of an agent of social change by promoting community engagement as an embodiment of social solidarity.

Resumen
A mission statement is the most visible element of an organizational strategy; it ought to be effective in terms of reflecting its purpose. Particularly, top global brands, corporations, and business schools are expected to have modular mission statements that comply with the definition of an ideal mission statement. To determine how closely they adhere to the components of an ideal mission statement, this study compares the actual mission statements of the top organizations with the desired ideal mission statement. The study employed a meta-content analysis approach to analyze the mission statements of 400 organizations from diverse sectors, including Interbrand’s top 100 global brands, Financial Times ranked top 100 business schools, and top 100 conventional and top 100 Islamic banks. For each type of organization and for the whole sample, mission statements were analyzed for how many and what components they frequently include in their mission statements. The results show that only 5 percent of these organizations have perfect mission statements indicating majority do not prioritize creating mission statements that contain all the necessary components. The components such as self-concept, products and services, and customers were the most frequently communicated concerns, indicating a high level of importance on conveying identity, offerings, and relationships with customers whereas concerns for employees, public image, and technology were severely overlooked. The findings suggest a discrepancy between academia and industry regarding what constitutes an ideal mission statement inviting further research to better understand the components of an ideal mission statement and how they align with real-world statements. This research assists organizations in identifying gaps in their mission statements and aligning them with their organizational values, goals, and strategies by providing thorough theoretical and practical implications in the end.

AbstractMidwife Rokhaya Thiam joined the Fayḍa Tijāniyya Sufi Islamic movement in 2005 and soon became aware of her divine mission to found the Association Mame Astou Diankha. This organization provides free medical services to needy people and organizes economic development projects for women. Rokhaya Thiam exemplifies a broader trend of ‘hybrid’ religious subjects in the Fayḍa Tijāniyya movement who embed neoliberal notions such as ‘development’ and individual entrepreneurial initiative into mystical notions of selfhood, agency and moral order. Such charismatic disciples seem to approach discipleship in liberal fashion, pursuing an individualized mission in contrast to the classic Sufi disciple who passively follows instructions from the shaykh. However, these disciples defy reduction to individual, neoliberal subjectivity, subsuming their agency under a larger spiritual entity responsible for revealing and realizing their mission. This article asks whether such hybridities may be intrinsic to neoliberal subjecthood, which entails being shaped by neoliberal power and knowledge while domesticating them to other ends, rather than being exceptions that emerge on the still-enchanted edges of neoliberalism.

Resumen
As a contribution to the history of the institutional development of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Central Asian parts of the Russian Empire, the present article analyzes the emergence of missionary structures in the Orenburg diocese. The research is based on a wide range of administrative documents of the Orenburg diocese (preserved in the State Archive of the Orenburg region), and on materials published in the Orenburg Diocesan Gazette. The contribution explores the reasons for the creation of the regional Committee of the Orthodox Missionary Society and the Kyrgyz Mission, and identifies the stages of their activities. It also highlights the features of the organization of Orthodox missionary work among the Kazakhs of the Urals and Turgay regions. The authors argue that Orthodox missionary work in the Steppe was meant to exclude the Kazakhs from the ongoing all-Russian Muslim consolidation. The strategy that the Russian state chose to control regions with a dense inorodtsy (non-Russians) population was acculturation, to control the respective populations by inclu- ding them into the cultural and religious Russian-Orthodox space. On the spot, however, the officials of the Kyrgyz Mission faced a whole range of obstacles, including particular attitudes of the Kazakhs about aspects of the Christian dogma. Also, there was already well-funded Islamic missionary work in the Ural and Turgai steppes. The Orthodox parish system remained weak, and state financing of missionary work was considered insufficient. The resettlement of peasants into the region required that employees of the Kirghiz mission changed their emphasis from missionary work to the ordinary duties of parish priests. All this allows the authors to conclude that the efficiency of Orthodox missionary structures among the Kazakhs of the Orenburg diocese was low.

Bullying is bound to have bad consequences, not only for those who do it but especially for those who are targeted, affecting their personal, social, and educational aspects. Holding positive activities for students who can instill family values and solidarity, as well as organizing educational sessions about bullying during their stay at the pesantren, can help prevent this behavior from happening again in the future.
