Resumen
The present article aims to analyze the notion of appearance in Jacques Rancière's philosophical work, with a view to delineating a digressive line of a long tradition that insists on affirming the power of thought and truth against the inconsistency of appearances. In this sense, an attempt is made to argue the potential that appearances have in the construction of new imaginaries and in the creation of other forms of common sense.

Need to be analyzed and discussed about the appearance of the body at work or the ergonomics of balance and aspects of employee productivity. Because ergonomic appearance, namely the balance of the body at work and work tasks, will affect several aspects of work productivity. This writing method is carried out by means of a literature study, meaning that all data from several opinions are obtained from the literature. Then, some of the scientific opinion data is analyzed and discussed. The inference method uses a combination of several opinions and then concludes inductively

Resumen
Merleau-Ponty’s account of phenomena, or appearances, and their relation to things themselves, is obviously central to his project as a Phenomenologist. And yet there is no agreed upon interpretation of the account of appearance that he gives in the Phenomenology of Perception: many commentators suggest that that work is ultimately either Idealist or Realist, or even that his account of appearance there is simply inconsistent. In this article, I argue that Merleau-Ponty does, in fact, offer a coherent alternative to Realism and Idealism about appearances in the Phenomenology, and I examine some key features of the account that often give rise to the suspicion of inconsistency. I show that these features only appear inconsistent if we adopt certain assumptions about appearance that Merleau-Ponty would reject, and that we have good reason to question as well.

Resumen
Human-Animal Studies (has) is an innovative field, tarnished by its politicized mixed-species subject matter. This paper considers how nonhuman animal scholars may also be tainted, for different reasons and to varying degrees, because of the academic “dirty work” they perform withinhas. As the field matures, tensions are emerging among this disparate scholarly group. These tensions are associated with the rise of Critical Animal Studies (cas), the extent to which animal scholars should engage in emancipatory-type scholarship and the appearance of the “animal as such–animal as constructed” axis withinhas. This paper draws on these intrafield tensions to form a potential framework that maps scholarly labor withinhas. As scholars begin to debate what counts as “good” and “bad” human-animal scholarship, this may engender the appearance of academic-moral havens. It is suggested that such enclaves may partly mitigate the personal challenges and professional stigma of working in a tarnished academic field.

In this work, the morphofunctional state has been studied at various times after the simulation of experimental syphilis. It is noted that discirculatory and dystrophic changes develop in the early stages of the study. The appearance of focal and massive necrosis of hepatocytes is accompanied by the development of an inflammatory process in the form of lymphoid infiltration around necrosis and hypertrophy of Kupffer cells. Subsequently, lymphohistiocytic infiltration spreads along the portal tracts, in which plasma cells and eosinophils appear, which are characteristic of syphilitic inflammation.

Resumen
The history of dentistry has origins that are lost in time, with ancient records that date back to the manufacture of dental prostheses. In the contemporary scenario, dentistry has experienced remarkable progress, especially in the field of dental prostheses, where new materials have emerged with the aim of harmoniously integrating with the natural structure of the teeth. One of the notable advances is the innovation of alternatives for Removable Partial Dentures, moving away from conventional metallic components and adopting plastic materials. These polymeric options provide greater flexibility, minimize allergy risks, and facilitate adaptation. From a methodological perspective, an extensive literature search was undertaken, using the renowned PUBMED database, covering the time interval between 2013 and 2023. The chosen keywords, “Dentistry”, “dental prosthesis” and “partial prosthesis flexible”, were adopted to guide the consultation. By compiling the samples extracted from the examined literature, it is possible to deduce that flexible prostheses inherently offer superior aesthetic and comfort attributes to patients, thus surpassing conventional alternatives. Despite the ergonomic and aesthetic advantages that they present, the use of flexible prostheses as a permanent prosthetic solution lacks justification, due to the potential harmful impact on periodontal support, mainly associated with the lack of occlusal support. Therefore, it is undeniable that flexible prostheses provide remarkable comfort and admirable aesthetics, which puts them in an advantageous position compared to traditional alternatives. However, there are still intrinsic aspects that deserve attention and improvement. In this context, the continuous search for excellence in the balance between the desired aesthetics and the necessary durability is evident, aiming to offer patients a complete and satisfactory prosthetic experience. The present work proposes to elucidate the advantages and permanence inherent to flexible partial dentures, in addition to making a comparison regarding their quality and durability as opposed to conventional partial dentures. This analysis is primarily based on the review of the relevant scientific literature, thus allowing a grounded and objective approach to the subject in question.

Resumen
Visual characteristics, including facial appearance, are thought to play an important role in a variety of judgments and decisions that have real occupational outcomes in many settings. Indeed, there is growing evidence suggesting that appearance influences hiring decisions and even election results. For example, attractive individuals are more likely to be hired, taller men earn more, and the facial appearance of candidates has been linked to real election outcomes. In this article, we review evidence linking physical appearance to occupational success and evaluate the hypothesis that appearance based biases are consistent with predictions based on evolutionary theories of coalition formation and leadership choice. We discuss why appearance based effects are so pervasive, addressing ideas about a “kernel of truth” in attributions and about coalitional psychology. We additionally highlight that appearance may be differently related to success at work according to the types of job or task involved. For example, leaders may be chosen because the characteristics they possess are seen as best suited to lead in particular situations. During a time of war, a dominant-appearing leader may inspire confidence and intimidate enemies while during peace-time, when negotiation and diplomacy are needed, interpersonal skills may outweigh the value of a dominant leader. In line with these ideas, masculine-faced leaders are favored in war-time scenarios while feminine-faced leaders are favored in peace-time scenarios. We suggest that such environment or task specific competencies may be prevalent during selection processes, whereby individuals whose appearance best matches perceived task competences are most likely selected, and propose the general term “task-congruent selection” to describe these effects. Overall, our review highlights how potentially adaptive biases could influence choices in the work place. With respect to certain biases, understanding their origin and current prevalence is important in order to potentially reduce discrimination in the work place.

Resumen
Abstract In this article, the possibility of new objective evaluation of yarn appearance in area employing selected spatial statistical functions is presented. The yarns wound on the boards were used for the experiment. Appearance of standard yarn boards from the standard CSN 80 0704 and real yarn boards with faultless and faulty yarns were converted into grayscale images. Fluctuation in degrees of grayness was evaluated between square fields in the image using statistical function called the area variation curve. In addition, the method was applied to the simulated yarn board appearance generated by the Uster Tester apparatus. Behavior of area variation curves in dependence on the result of visual evaluation of yarn board appearance was discussed. The generated appearances from the Uster Tester device were also evaluated by other statistical function called semivariogram. It was found out that the area variation curve is not a suitable tool for evaluation of yarn board appearance. The semivariogram seems to be a more suitable tool. The paper extends the knowledge on the issue of objective evaluation of yarn appearance and directly follows the author’s work [1].

Resumen
Introduction: The aim of the study is to determine basic physical traits of physiotherapists and indicators of their occupation according to social expectations. Material and Methods: 2121 people of different sex, age and education participated in the study. The preferences were categorized by sex and the education level. The test for equality of two percentage structures based on statistics ‘Z’ and the test for equality of proportions based on Fisher-Snedecor’s test were implemented. Results: The preferences for the physical traits are consistent with those commonly expected, and the high level of fitness is expected in the context of significant psychological and physical burdens. The respondents’ education level rather than gender seems to be a more significant variable in the evaluation of personal characteristics. The most significant differences can be noticed in the choices of people with a low level of education. Conclusions: Sex and education influence the preferences regarding the build of a physiotherapist and the characteristics of their job, and the results of the most important appearance attributes and body build clearly show a lack of social acceptance of therapists who neglect their appearance.

The purpose of the study is to reveal the contextual features of the actualization of the ancient heritage, in particular, the figure of Aristotle in German thought in the first half of the twentieth century, in particular, in the work of Werner Jaeger. The article examines the relationship between classical philology and philosophy in the academic environment, as well as the influence on the philosophy from the poetic circle of Stefan George. The scientific novelty lies in the identification of non-philosophical factors determining scientific research at the beginning of the twentieth century, which contributed to the appeal to the ancient heritage in Germany. As a result, authors identify the main stages that German humanitarian thought went through from classical philology to its own historical and philosophical studies of antiquity, in particular, the figure of Aristotle.

In studying visual perception, we seek to develop models of processing that accurately predict perceptual judgments. Much of this work is focused on judgments of discrimination, and there is a large literature concerning models of visual discrimination. There are, however, non-threshold visual judgments, such as judgments of the magnitude of differences between visual stimuli, that provide a means to bridge the gap between threshold and appearance. We describe two such models of suprathreshold judgments, maximum likelihood difference scaling and maximum likelihood conjoint measurement, and review recent literature that has exploited them.

Resumen
ABSTRACTThis paper examines how older women experience and respond to ageism in relation to their changing physical appearances and within the context of their personal relationships and places of employment. We elucidate the two definitions of ageism that emerged in in-depth interviews with 44 women aged 50 to 70 years: the social obsession with youthfulness and discrimination against older adults. We examine the women's arguments that their ageing appearances were pivotal to their experience of ageism and underscored their engagement in beauty work such as hair dye, make-up, cosmetic surgery, and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. The women suggested that they engaged in beauty work for the following underlying motivations: the fight against invisibility, a life-long investment in appearance, the desire to attract or retain a romantic partner, and employment related-ageism. We contend that the women's experiences highlight a tension between being physically and socially visible by virtue of looking youthful, and the realities of growing older. In other words, social invisibility arises from the acquisition of visible signs of ageing and compels women to make their chronological ages imperceptible through the use of beauty work. The study extends the research and theorising on gendered ageism and provides an example of how women's experiences of ageing and ageism are deeply rooted in their appearances and in the ageist, sexist perceptions of older women's bodies.

Abstract This paper investigated single target tracking of arbitrary objects. Tracking is a difficult problem due to a variety of challenges such as scale variation, motion, background clutter, illumination etc. To achieve better tracking performance under these severe conditions, this paper proposed covariance descriptor based on multi-layer instance search region. Our results show that the proposed approach significantly improves the performance in term of centre location error (in pixels) compared to covariance descriptor with using a fixed bounding box. From this work, it is believed that we have constructed a great solution in choosing best layer for this descriptor. This will be addressed in the next future work such as consider target motion during tracking.

If an image, for example a company logo, is shown on different devices the degree of colour consistency amongst this set of stimuli can be defined as common or consistent colour appearance (CCA). In this work, a procedure which is able to evaluate CCA is developed for the first time. A psychophysical experiment is presented with which the existence of CCA is proofed. For the evaluation of CCA, the colour naming approach from [5] is consistently continued and a measuring tool is developed. In addition, the correctness of the measuring tool is tested on the basis of the experiment. This work is based on two psychophysical experiments, the first to proof CCA, the second to create the colour naming database. This setup is very general and can therefore also be applied to other cultures in order to develop a measuring tool for CCA.

Resumen
The term “grotesque”, derived from the Italian word “grotto” for underground caves, refers to the ornamental art in which human, animal, and plant motifs are intertwined on the walls of Nero’s Golden House (Domus Aurea), discovered during the Roman excavations in 1480. However, over time, it has abandoned its decorative meaning and become a form of expression in art and literature, which is sometimes associated with the humorous and sometimes with the tragic. Adjectives such as “absurd”, “outrageous”, “strange”, and “incompatible” characterize the grotesque, which is intended to surprise, frighten, and disgust an audience as well as make them laugh. More importantly, the grotesque exists across the folk mythology and pre-classical works of many cultures as a significant means of expression that takes and presents the ugly and formless from within an exciting life. The present study examines Crystal Manor Tales through the lens of the grotesque theory, which Russian literary theorist Mikhail Bakhtin conceptualized in his work Rabelais and His World (2005 [1965])1 by associating it with medieval and Renaissance carnivals. Therefore, it has been determined that the tales aim to expose society’s flaws through the grotesque images they convey, as well as to establish a healthier order by excluding un-desirable behaviors.

AbstractWomen engage in a variety of beauty practices, or “beauty work,” to enhance their physical appearance, such as applying cosmetics, tanning, or exercising. Although the rewards of physical attractiveness are well documented, perceptions of both the women who engage in efforts to enhance their appearance and the high-effort beauty products marketed to them are not well understood. Across seven studies, we demonstrate that consumers judge women who engage in certain types of extensive beauty work as possessing poorer moral character. These judgments occur only for effortful beauty work perceived as transformative (significantly altering appearance) and transient (lasting a relatively short time), such that they emerge within cosmetics and tanning, yet not skincare or exercise. This effect is mediated by the perception that putting high effort into one’s appearance signals a willingness to misrepresent one’s true self, and translates into lower purchase intentions for higher-effort cosmetics. We identify several boundary conditions, including the attractiveness of the woman performing the beauty work and whether the effort is attributed to external norms or causes. In examining how beauty work elicits moral judgments, we also shed light on why effortful cosmetic use is viewed negatively, yet effortful products continue to be commercially successful.

First impressions based on facial appearance predict many important social outcomes. We investigated whether such impressions also influence the communication of scientific findings to lay audiences, a process that shapes public beliefs, opinion, and policy. First, we investigated the traits that engender interest in a scientist’s work, and those that create the impression of a “good scientist” who does high-quality research. Apparent competence and morality were positively related to both interest and quality judgments, whereas attractiveness boosted interest but decreased perceived quality. Next, we had members of the public choose real science news stories to read or watch and found that people were more likely to choose items that were paired with “interesting-looking” scientists, especially when selecting video-based communications. Finally, we had people read real science news items and found that the research was judged to be of higher quality when paired with researchers who look like “good scientists.” Our findings offer insights into the social psychology of science, and indicate a source of bias in the dissemination of scientific findings to broader society.

This study is an attempt to investigate the ability of different colors used in cinematic lighting designs to affect audience’s impressions towards the appearance and mood of film characters. The study critically appraised existing cinematic lighting techniques and identified the two basic color groups (i.e., warm and cold colors) that should be examined in order to answer the research questions and formulate its conclusions. To provide the needed empirical evidence for this research work, some experiments with a representative sample of viewers were conducted. These experiments confirmed the existence of direct relationships between various colors of lighting and the perceived appearance and mood of film characters. Moreover, specific color hues of lighting appeared to be more effective than others in altering the perceived appearance and mood of film characters. The study concluded that audience’s perception of appearances and moods within cinematic images is linked, even in part, to different colors of lighting.

AbstractResearch in social psychology has shown that people’s biased, subjective judgments about another’s personality based solely on their appearance are not predictive of their actual personality traits. But researchers and companies often utilize computer vision models to predict similarly subjective personality attributes such as “employability”. We seek to determine whether state-of-the-art, black box face processing technology can learn human-like appearance biases. With features extracted with FaceNet, a widely used face recognition framework, we train a transfer learning model on human subjects’ first impressions of personality traits in other faces as measured by social psychologists. We find that features extracted with FaceNet can be used to predict human appearance bias scores for deliberately manipulated faces but not for randomly generated faces scored by humans. Additionally, in contrast to work with human biases in social psychology, the model does not find a significant signal correlating politicians’ vote shares with perceived competence bias. With Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME), we provide several explanations for this discrepancy. Our results suggest that some signals of appearance bias documented in social psychology are not embedded by the machine learning techniques we investigate. We shed light on the ways in which appearance bias could be embedded in face processing technology and cast further doubt on the practice of predicting subjective traits based on appearances.

Resumen
Effective multi-object tracking is still challenging due to the trade-off between tracking accuracy and speed. Because the recent multi-object tracking (MOT) methods leverage object appearance and motion models so as to associate detections between consecutive frames, the key for effective multi-object tracking is to reduce the computational complexity of learning both models. To this end, this work proposes global appearance and motion models to discriminate multiple objects instead of learning local object-specific models. In concrete detail, it learns a global appearance model using contrastive learning between object appearances. In addition, we learn a global relation motion model using relative motion learning between objects. Moreover, this paper proposes object constraint learning for improving tracking efficiency. This study considers the discriminability of the models as a constraint, and learns both models when inconsistency with the constraint occurs. Therefore, object constraint learning differs from the conventional online learning for multi-object tracking which updates learnable parameters per frame. This work incorporates global models and object constraint learning into the confidence-based association method, and compare our tracker with the state-of-the-art methods on public available MOT Challenge datasets. As a result, we achieve 64.5% MOTA (multi-object tracking accuracy) and 6.54 Hz tracking speed on the MOT16 test dataset. The comparison results show that our methods can contribute to improve tracking accuracy and tracking speed together.

Resumen
Abstract This paper examines the relationship between rheology and the qualitative appearance of dried, mica-based paint coatings used in the aerospace industry. The goal is to identify key rheological characteristics indicative of poor coating visual appearance, providing a screening tool to identify unsatisfactory paint formulations. Four mica paints were studied, having coating visual appearances ranging from very poor to very good. Strain sweeps indicated that the poor-quality paints have a smaller % strain midpoint in the linear visco-elastic range; while the good-quality paints have a lower G’/G” cross-over point in frequency sweeps. Thixotropy experiments utilizing single and multiple-loop hysteresis cycles plotting shear stress as a function of shear rate showed that the base mica paints with good appearance had nearly constant, reversible profiles in the forward and the backward directions; while the mica paints with poor appearance were irreversible with a noticeable gradual change in shear stress as more loops are run. The difference in area between the forward and the reverse curves was determined, leading to a quantifiable criterion that can differentiate good paints from poor paints with significance testing. This work would establish the first rheology model using hysteresis loops to predict the visual properties of mica-based paints.

Resumen
Abstract Humans recognize objects visually on the basis of material composition as well as shape. To acquire a certain level of photorealism, it is necessary to analyze, how the materials scatter the incident light. The key quantity for expressing the directional optical effect of materials on the incident radiance is the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF). Our work is devoted to the BRDF measurements, in order to render the synthetic images, mostly of the metallic paints. We measured the spectral reflectance off multiple paint samples then used the measured data to fit the analytical BRDF model, in order to acquire its parameters. In this paper we describe the methodology of the image synthesis from measured data. Materials such as the metallic paints exhibit a sparkling effect caused by the metallic particles scattered within the paint volume. Our analysis of sparkling effect is based on the processing of the multiple photographs. Results of analysis and the measurements were incorporated into the rendering process of car paint

It is desirable to communicate colour with intuitive terms which are understood not only by experts. Studies have showed that chroma, saturation and colourfulness are more difficult to understand for "ordinary people" than other colour terms. Vividness has recently it been proposed as a formal colour scale, and it is believed to be more intuitive than other colour science terms. In this work we investigate how people interpret vividness of colour samples and test current models by collecting visual data in a psychophysical experiment. 31 people were asked to judge the vividness of 53 NCS patches and 53 colour matches on display on a scale from 0 to 100. The majority of the variations in the vividness data is predicted by chroma, while the results indicate that lightness does not contribute in prediction of the observers' interpretation of vividness. Current models did not outperform chroma as a single predictor for the vividness data obtained in this experiment.

Resumen
The article deals in studying how the value of the external attractiveness of young women influences various aspects of their life in society. The data are given, allowing to describe that value as basic, having the motive-forming and compensatory functions. The results are presented that reveal a high degree of importance of appearance for young women: achieving a higher social status, a luxurious life, a successful career in management and entrepreneurship. The author sees the regularity in the relationship between external attractiveness and agharmonic components of the initiative, egoism and selfishness. He also outlines a negative relation between the significance of the considered value and the attitude to labor and work. When the appearance is attained too much of significance with the young women, they tend to get rid of some generally accepted norms. At the same time, girls associate the value of their attractiveness with well-being in interpersonal relationships and life success.

This presentation will summarize recent work on the visual perception of color appearance and object properties in optical see-through (OST) augmented reality (AR) systems. OST systems, such as Microsoft HoloLens, use a see- through display system to superimpose virtual content onto a user’s view of the real world. With careful tracking of both display and world coordinates, synthetic objects can be added to the real world, and real objects can be manipulated via synthetic overlays. Ongoing research studies how the combination of real and virtual stimuli are perceived and how users’ visual adaptation is affected; two specific examples will be explained.

Resumen
Instant messaging (IMing) applications are already widely used in work settings, but some argue that the intrusive nature of instant messaging can affect productivity. Langer Arian Mindfulness is considered to be associated with work performance. The purpose of the present pilot study was to explore the impact of instant messaging and Langer Mindfulness on work outcomes. Total 30 participants were recruited, a mixed design experiment was conducted, Participants were divided into a control group (do not received IMing during the task) and an experimental group (received and responded to 8 immediate messages during the task). Participants were first asked to fill out the Langer Mindfulness scale (LMS), then were asked to watch a 12-minute video and complete a test on the content of the video to test their memory of the video content. Within the experimental group, the timing of the pop out of the 8 instant messages was carefully designed to be divided into masked messages (appearing 10 seconds before the appearance of the to-be-tested message) and non-masked messages (appearing 10 seconds after the appearance of the to-be-tested message). Result indicated that for instant message effect, after controlling for subjective difficulty of subjects on the post-experiment test, only non-masked immediate information impaired subject performance, which suggested the timing sensitive of interruption. For effect of mindfulness, the LMS negatively predicted task performance. Stepwise regression showed that the Flexibility subscale of LMS negatively predicted task performance, and the higher the Langer Mindfulness, participants were more vulnerable to be affected by immediate information.

Resumen
In the present situation, law'sÖffentlichkeit, or its principal “openness to the public,” needs to be distinguished from its being the object of publicity as dominated by modern media. Law's public openness has historically been dependent on, and determined by, two theatrical modes of appearance: The theatrical-proper and the dramatic. Paradoxically, in both cases the jurisdictional “openness to the public” works not only through forms of visibility but also forms of invisibility. These two theatrical modes—and their dynamic play with visibility and invisibility—have been portrayed in works of art that have influenced the way general audiences imagine the law to work. These works also correlate with the different histories and public appearances and openness of the European and the Anglo-American systems of law. Historically speaking, the European system has been more theatrically inclined, in the context of a distinctly imperial trajectory that has been dominated by the desire to stage the law and to follow correct procedure. The Anglo-American one, by contrast, is more dramatically inclined, and has followed a distinctly anti-imperial trajectory—whether anti-royal or anti-state—influenced by the desire to stage trials in which peers determine the dramatic outcome. Although both systems are basically open to the public, they both work via a dynamic of protective invisibility. Yet due to current developments, the elements of invisibility in both systems tend to predominate over the elements of visibility. This suggests that both systems are moving toward a form of legal closure that is averse to the original theatrical and dramatic appearance and openness of law.

Resumen
The purpose of this study was to explore the personal experiences of businesswomen regarding appearance management and their body image. To achieve this, diverse perspectives were employed, including critical, practical, and positive body image perspectives. Interviews were conducted with 17 Korean businesswomen with more than 10 years of work experience. The data were analyzed using a phenomenological approach to understand their lived experiences of appearance management and body image. The participants acknowledged that appearance is important in the workplace - more so for women than for men. They commented that appearance may play an important role in displyaing social attractiveness to strangers, but other elements of social attractiveness such as liveliness or social skills take prominence in established relationships. Businesswomen, particularly those whose professions involve the display of appearance, are more likely to engage in aesthetic labor or the unpaid labor of managing their physical appearance in order to meet expectations at work. In general, however, these women considered appearance management to be a practice of self-care which seems to demonstrate their positive body image. This study has significance in that it strived to understand the subjective, lived experiences of businesswomen, including their thoughts and emotions related to appearance management and body image.

Resumen
An individual appearance (image) in a broad sense includes appearance, figure, physical abilities, clothing, that is, the totality of such information about a person that can be obtained without resorting to specific examinations. The positive content of the subjective right to individual appearance consists of the authority to independently determine and use an individual appearance, to dispose an image. Legal statuses of the student and the teacher make authority and limits of implementation and ways to protect the right to an individual appearance more specific.Assessing the legitimacy of setting appearance requirements, the author draws attention to the requirements for clothing and other elements of appearance and the requirements applied to the procedure of decision-making. The Federal Law on Education does not provide for restricting such elements of students’ appearance as hair, makeup, tattoos, piercing, jewelry. Therefore, such restrictions concerning the right to individual appearance established by educational organizations are allowed only if they have been passed in compliance with the rules of adoption of local acts of educational organizations. The article provides a solution to the situation when the draft act of the educational organization concerning students’ appearance is not equally evaluated by the сouncil of students, сouncil of parents, a representative body of employees of this organization and (or) students.Under the Model Code of Professional Ethics of Teachers, general requirements for the appearance of the teacher are advisory in nature. Therefore, if the employee violates moral norms, then moral rather than legal sanctions should be applied. The question arises whether it is possible to evaluate certain appearance of the teacher as an immoral offense also when the teacher is out of work. The article substantiates that it is necessary to establish different legal consequences of immoral offenses committed by the teacher out of work taking into account the form of fault. If the teacher commits an immoral offense out of work and informs an indefinite number of people about it, then we deal with a conscious promotion of his or her conduct, his own assessment of his or her conduct as permissible, while the society (a part of the society) evaluates such behavior as immoral. In the above cases, it is justified to apply measures provided for under labor legislation. If the teacher commits an immoral act out of work and this becomes known accidentally while the teacher is unaware of the fact of disclosure and sometimes when the disclosure takes place against his will, the application of measures of labor legislation regulating dismissal is questionable. In this regard, it is proposed to amend the provisions of the Labor Code concerning consequences of immoral misconduct of the teacher.

Resumen
AbstractThe Jesuit Guy Tachard (1648–1712) first came to Siam with the Chaumont-Choisy embassy of 1685 as one of six Jesuits destined for missionary work in China. The group was headed by Fr de Fontaney (1643–1710). The decision of the Abbé de Choisy (1644–1724), who held the post of coadjutant ambassador, to withdraw from the diplomatic scene and effect a retreat prior to his ordination as a priest in Lopburi on 10 December 1685 enabled Tachard to replace him as interpreter of Phaulkon (c.1647–1688), the influential Levantine adventurer then holding the functions, though not the title, of minister of trade and foreign affairs (phra khlang) for King Narai (r.1656–1688). Tachard was then charged with secret negotiations with the court of Louis XIV, most particularly with Fr de La Chaize, the king's Jesuit confessor, and the Marquis de Seignelay, the secretary of state for the navy, to negotiate the lease of a port and the dispatch of persons of rank to occupy key posts in the Siamese kingdom. In Paris, he lost no time in publishing his account of the first French embassy to Siam, padding it with unacknowledged extracts from one of the other Jesuits in his party, Fr de Bouvet.

Resumen
The virtual modification of the appearance of an object using lighting technologies has become very important in recent years, since the projection of light on an object allows us to alter its appearance in a virtual and reversible way. Considering the limitation of non-contact when analysing a work of art, these optical techniques have been used in fields of restoration of cultural heritage, allowing us to visualize the work as it was conceived by its author, after a process of acquisition and treatment of the image. Furthermore, the technique of altering the appearance of objects through the projection of light has been used in projects with artistic or even educational purposes. This review has treated the main studies of light projection as a technique to alter the appearance of objects, emphasizing the calibration methods used in each study, taking into account the importance of a correct calibration between devices to carry out this technology. In addition, since the described technique consists of projecting light, and one of the applications is related to cultural heritage, those studies that carry out the design and optimization of lighting systems will be described for a correct appreciation of the works of art, without altering its state of conservation.

Resumen
Equipping autonomous robots with vision sensors provides a multitude of advantages by simultaneously bringing up difficulties with regard to different illumination conditions. Furthermore, especially with service robots, the objects to be handled must somehow be learned for a later manipulation. In this paper we summarise work on combining two different vision sensors, namely a laser range scanner and a monocular colour camera, for shape-capturing, detecting and tracking of objects in cluttered scenes without the need of intermediate user interaction. The use of different sensor types provides the advantage of separating the shape and the appearance of the object and therefore overcome the problem with changing illumination conditions. We describe the framework and its components of visual shape-capturing, fast 3D object detection and robust tracking as well as examples that show the feasibility of this approach.

Resumen
AbstractThe late Pleistocene megafaunal extinctions may have been the first extinctions directly related to human activity, but in North America the close temporal proximity of human arrival and the Younger Dryas climate event has hindered efforts to identify the ultimate extinction cause. Previous work evaluating the roles of climate change and human activity in the North American megafaunal extinction has been stymied by a reliance on geographic binning, yielding contradictory results among researchers. We used a fine-scale geospatial approach in combination with 95 megafaunal last-appearance and 75 human first-appearance radiocarbon dates to evaluate the North American megafaunal extinction. We used kriging to create interpolated first- and last-appearance surfaces from calibrated radiocarbon dates in combination with their geographic autocorrelation. We found substantial evidence for overlap between megafaunal and human populations in many but not all areas, in some cases exceeding 3000 years of predicted overlap. We also found that overlap was highly regional: megafauna had last appearances in Alaska before humans first appeared, but did not have last appearances in the Great Lakes region until several thousand years after the first recorded human appearances. Overlap in the Great Lakes region exceeds uncertainty in radiocarbon measurements or methodological uncertainty and would be even greater with sampling-derived confidence intervals. The kriged maps of last megafaunal occurrence are consistent with climate as a primary driver in some areas, but we cannot eliminate human influence from all regions. The late Pleistocene megafaunal extinction was highly variable in timing and duration of human overlap across the continent, and future analyses should take these regional trends into account.
