This research aims to determine the effect of company size and sales growth on performance. Company size is a reflection of management's success in increasing company assets. Sales growth illustrates the company's success in expanding the marketing of its products. Company performance reflects its success in managing its finances well, proxied by Return On Assets (ROA). The analysis used in this research is panel data regression using secondary data taken from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) website. The companies studied are coal sub-sector companies listed on the IDX during 2020-2022. This research is essential now when coal is experiencing a surge in demand after previously experiencing its lowest phase. Therefore, coal companies must be able to prepare their company performance well to maintain the sustainability of their company. The research results show that company size has an effect, while sales growth does not affect company performance. The coefficient of determination in this study was 68%, which shows the level of goodness of the model in explaining company performance. This research answers the challenges of fluctuations in the coal mining industry that may occur in the future and is a solution to the uncertainty of coal demand and supply in the world. Therefore, coal companies must be able to prepare their company performance well to maintain the sustainability of their company. Consumer market demand for certain specifications of coal continues to increase every year. However, each coal company has a variety of coal qualities in terms of calorific value, water content, ash content, and total sulfur and so on. PT. Alamjaya Bara Pratama is a coal mining company that has several types of coal products that vary in quality. By coal blending, the aim is to obtain coal product that meet the target with a homogeneous composition and according to consumer coal quality specifications. With the linear programming method for coal blending calculations using the Production and Operation Management - Quantitave Methods software has an influence in maximizing the use of the composition quantity for each type of product (MD and HS) as well as optimizing the quality of the coal blending results. Through POM-QM, it has the advantage of being able to determine the benchmark target value for one of the desired coal quality parameters. With subbitumious coal quality as for the research results are calculations of the final quality for each Mother Vessel, one of which is MV Eastern Camelia with the planning results is (AC 5,0% adb, TS 0,90% adb, GAR 4590 kcal/kg arb) with tonnage requirements for coal products (MD = 29.727,84 MT and HS = 22.772,16 MT). Through the use of linear programming (POM-QM) in calculating coal blending planning, the results are obtained and meet each coal quality parameter limit criterion based on consumer demand.

A clear vision and mission of the company and implemented together is the key to the company's success to compete in the business world, such as PT. Inalum Coal North Sumatra which produces quality products and is able to compete in the world. The objectives of this study are 1) to determine the role of leadership in continuous improvement and its implications for the quality of the product division of PT. North Sumatra Coal Inalum; 2) to determine the factors that affect the improvement of product quality in the Division of PT. North Sumatra Coal Inalum. This research is a case study which was analyzed with a qualitative approach. This research shows that the role of leadership is very large in making continuous improvements so as to produce quality products that can compete in the business world on a national and international scale.

Organizations dealing with B2B products experience significant challenges whencustomers are unhappy. As the number of customers is few and volumes oftransactions are high, customer satisfaction is essential for a company’s well-being.CalTech Thermal Plant Corporation, a coal customer, lost 203 crores due to substandardcoal being supplied by their long-term business ally UCL. As a result of areport by CalTech, the Minister of Natural resources and Power downgraded 250 coalmines of UCL after analyzing coal samples from various mines. UCL, a Governmentowned Maharatna status mining company, was a monopoly in coal extraction andselling in India for a long time. Over time, UCL has grown in size both in terms of thenumber of mines and employee strengths. However, a complacent and shelteredorganization UCL was exposed to a bouquet of challenges starting from the closureof coal mines in 2017, its own in-house HR problems, threats from internationalcompetitors, and substitutes for their customer’s products in the form of Solar power.The case study discusses the various environmental challenges influencing UCL to gofor major strategic decisions to endure the present crisis. The management of UCL isat a crossroads in making the organization profitable and ready for future challenges.

This study aims to formulate the right strategy for coal mining company (case study of PT ABC) in response to regulation. To ensure the stability of the domestic coal supply for national electricity and fuel or raw materials for domestic industry, the Decree of MEMR has been issued to regulate about the obligation to prioritize domestic coal supply and to determine coal sales price for domestic market. This research uses qualitative methods to identify the current situation, formulating, and proposing a new strategy. VRIO analysis and PESTEL analysis is conducted to analyze internal and external factors, respectively. The business strategies to answer the problem will be formulated based on the results of the internal and external analysis as well as the results of the interviews with the relevant stakeholders. The results shows that short-term and long-term strategies should be implemented, including to optimize the sales of coal products with the specifications that are suitable with the domestic market, acquire potential new customers from smelters industry, and encourage employees training to build compliance awareness as well as to maintain good relationship with the government. Long-term strategy namely coal gasification to produce methanol or DME products should also be explored. With the outbreak of natural disasters and extreme weather, people are paying more and more attention to protecting the environment and society. This society is gradually de-manding more and more from companies. In this context, the new concept of ESG has emerged under the call of the United Nations. This article details MSCI's ESG scoring sys-tem and what it covers. Through the ESC scoring system of MSCI, this paper analyzes Ford Motor Company, represented by gasoline cars, and Tesla Company, represented by electric cars, to reflect the current development of environment, society, and governance in the American automobile industry. We found that the overall ESG development of the American automotive industry still needs to be improved. Companies should also strength-en the development of management social aspects and corporate governance while consid-ering the development of environmentally friendly products.

Advertisements direct the consumers to focus on the products; it changes their mind and persuades them to buy the products which can be done by using certain lexical choices or gestures. Therefore, the researchers will compare two cultures; the Arabs culture especially the Gulf area and the Western culture especially the American culture by using five commercials of Almarai`s company that represents the Arab part with another five American commercials from Real California Cheese company “The Happy cow from California” that represents the American culture. In addition, the researchers will look at commercials which exist in the two parts of the world as “Snickers” and "Philadelphia cheese" where the reader can notice some similarities and differences between the American culture and the Arab culture. The commercials in this paper are specified in food commercials. Finally, the researchers will focus on how the language is used in the commercials and how some of the standard of textuality such as cohesion, coherent and informativity are used.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the current state of the problem concerning the concentration technology of wash house coal sludge, comparison of the results of sludge dump coal processing on various types of processing equipment as well as formulation of recommendations for spiral separation method application for coal sludge enrichment. The main research methods include generalization and analysis of scientific and technical information, study of the results of technological tests on spiral separation. The problem of sludge concentration is relevant due to the increase in the content of fine classes in mined coal and, consequently, in coal sludge. In real practice most of the sludge is fuel for energy. Having analyzed the experimental part of the research, the authors established the efficiency of coal and rock fraction separation using the technology of coal sludge spiral separation. The need for preliminary classification of the source material before spiral separation is determined. It is found out that spiral sludge separators have a number of technological advantages as compared to spiral mineral separators, due to a wider range of enriched material fineness. The analysis of the performed tests made it possible to establish the application prospects of the spiral separation technology in coal sludge processing. The recommendations are given on the use of spiral separators manufactured by the Research and Production Company Spirit, LLC for the enrichment of sludge products including tailings, dump sludge of the work site of the Wash House of the Branch Open Pit Cheremkhovugol of Vostsibugol Company, LLC.

Allied Indo Coal Jaya is one of the mining companies with types of coal mining materials. Mining methods used by PT. Allied Indo Coal Jaya is an open-pit mining and underground mining method. In the underground mining method, the adding system used is a room and pillar where coal extraction activities are carried out semi-conventionally and detonation. Blasting is carried out to support coal production activities to achieve the targets set by the company. However, the problem faced today is the non-achievement of the production target in Tunnel 9, which is 33 tons of coal while the actual production is 18.70 tons of coal. The non-achievement of production targets due to the geometry of blasting is inadequate for the dismantling of coal with the desired target. Based on the calculation of the dimensions of mine progress, it was found that the coal production yield was 17.03 tons of coal, while for blasting activities using the theory of R. L. Ash, it was found that the blasting result was 12.60 tons of coal. With blasting activities that were able to dismantle 12.60 tons of coal and the number of workers as many as 6 people, a mining profit of Rp.52,435,619.27 was obtained. Increased blasting twice daily and the addition of 8 personnel in Tunnel 9 are the answers to raising coal productivity. The addition of blasting activities and the number of workers can increase coal products to 35.20 tons of coal with a mining profit of Rp. 108,407,142,864.

PT Adaro Energy Tbk, an Indonesian private company engaged in coal mines and became the largest thermal coal producers both in Indonesia, which also operates coal mines and have the single biggest in the southern hemisphere. Coal products PT Adaro Energy Tbk has medium levels of energy content, and assign its trademark with the name of the Envirocoal. PT Adaro Energy Tbk is officially listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) on July 16, 2008 and was recorded as the largest company in the history of the Stock Exchange for deals done in rupiah (whereas in the US $ is the currency of the latter), and an IPO 4th largest for the year 2008 in Asia (excluding Japan) with a stock offering as much 11.139331 billion shares. To assess the stock price of PT Adaro Energy Tbk in the market, the valuation of shares is needed, where the valuation of these shares will be known intrinsic value (fair price). The method used in this valuation is the Discounted Cash Flow method using the model of Free Cash Flow to Firm. Valuation results would be very useful to be used as the basis for making investment decisions to buy, hold or sell stock. Based on the calculation that stock valuations have been carried out, obtained the intrinsic value of PT Adaro Energy Tbk amounting to Rp 1,570 while the price of shares in PT Adaro Energy Tbk as at July 6, 2012 is $ 1,866, with the conclusion of the stock price of PT Adaro Energy Tbk undervalued or is below the market price.

Storing coal for a long duration of time in the stockpile can cause the company to lose money because the possibility of self-ignition is greater. Spraying treatment using hydrosol will wet the coal evenly so that it will coat the coal and can prevent self-ignition. This study was made to analyze changes in coal temperature due to the use of Hydrosol and determine the best Hydrosol concentration to prevent coal self-heating. The operational design of the research was by separating coal products. Then, four concentrations of Hydrosol were made to be applied to coal product by spraying. After spraying each coal product, data were collected by measuring the temperature every day. The data from the research results showed the temperature increase for each coal product for 20 days of stacking so that it illustrated the effect of each Hydrosol concentration made and get the best concentration for application in the company's coal production pr˚Cess. The use of Hydrosol with four concentrations (0.0%; 0.5%, 1.O%; and 1.5%) with a treatment duration of 20 affected the temperature of the coal pile with a range of 32.4˚C to 55.3˚C where the initial critical temperature for self-heating was 50.7˚C. For this reason, coal with temperatures above 50˚C must be given treatment again such as compaction and spraying The best Hydrosol concentration to prevent self-heating during 20 days of stacking; as l.5o% Hydrosol concentration, which was a mixture of 98.5 liters of water with 1.5 liters of Hydrosol for every 10 tons of coal, which produced the lowest final temperature of all coal stacks, namely 41.3˚C.

A company's competitive ability is not only measured by the superiority of its products, but also by the performance of its industrial system as a whole which is reflected in the profits earned, so that it can be used for the development of its business and workforce through industrial effectiveness, as well as continuous quality improvement. Increased productivity is expected to increase the development and progress of the company. UD. Tempe Mawar Indah does not have detailed knowledge about how the company develops and improves. So it is necessary to evaluate the productivity of the company. The method used in analyzing company productivity is the American Productivity Center (APC) and productivity evaluation uses the Productivity Evaluation Tree (PET) method. The results obtained from this study are the Total Productivity Level at UD. Tempe Mawar Indah Period I (Basic) was 127.58 then in Period II it decreased to 116.88 (-10.7), also caused by increased use of resources compared to production. In Period III it also decreased again to 114.35 (-2.53), also caused by increased use of resources compared to production. As a productivity evaluation that has been carried out using the PET method, namely increasing productivity in Period III with a scenario of reducing input by 4.18% or (Rp.27,601,350) so that productivity in Period III increases to 1.19%.

Today's enterprise in order to be competitive needs not only to use high technologies, put out science-intensive products and have the R & D department with high innovation potential. To response in good time and adequately to challenges called 'digital economy' the company will be able only if it possesses a flexible adaptive production system providing synergy to all divisions, all employees of the enterprise. This system should continuously upgrade not to lose its relevance. The article deals with methodology of '20 keys' as an integrator of well-known approaches to enhancing the organization work. Its specific features and advantages were identified, as well as concrete results of introducing this methodology by overseas companies, in particular, the American company 'Windfall Products' specializing in production of powder metal components. The system of five-level appraisal of the organization formulated in the company is introduced in the article. Key stages of reforming conducted in the company, concrete processes and steps being in line with each of the stages are described there. Benefits of the program of '20 keys' for realizing modern tools and approaches to business enhancement are also included in the article.

The energy company is a sector company that sells products and services related to energy extraction which includes non-renewable energy so that revenue is directly affected by world energy commodity prices such as oil mining, natural gas, coal. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the capital structure of firm size has an effect on firm value. The analytical method used is panel data regression through eviews 12. With this research the researcher used a purposive sampling data collection technique. Purposive sampling is a sampling technique with a certain determination, with a total population of 37 energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2019-2022, and based on predetermined criteria, a sample of 30 companies from the energy sector in 2019-2022 was obtained. The results showed that the variable capital structure (DER) has a negative effect on firm value, while company size (SIZE) has a positive effect on firm value. Simultaneously capital structure and company size affect company value in Energy sector companies listed on the IDX in 2019-2022. The ability of the independent variables to simultaneously explain the dependent variable can be said to be included in the level of a strong relationship and this research model is good.

Appropriate management practices generate many benefits, allow for savings in particular segments of the supply chain by means of cost reduction, which in turn directly leads to the competitiveness of enterprises belonging to a specific chain. The above-mentioned issues have become the subject of this thesis. Therefore, the British American Tobacco distribution network is strategically analyzed. A location and number of distribution centers will be i.a. taken into account. Reduction in the number of distribution centers will be suggested in order to reduce logistics costs in the supply chain, i.e. transport and storage. The studies were carried out based on the analysis of flows and route planning of the logistics operator for the transport of the company's products.

Large rectangular gas ducts installed in power plants usually need inner supports to ensure their stability. Generally two schemes are used for setting inner supports. One is National Standard Specification (NSS) and the other is an American Combustion Engineering company design criterion (CE). The design level of inner supports in flue pipe has a great effect on flow distribution. In this paper, three kinds of inner supports which are common in power plants are simulated by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Through a comprehensive analysis of their flow fields and pressure, it can be concluded that NSS inner supports which are thinner, vertical to each other and have more rows is the best design scheme among these three kinds of inner supports.

Large rectangular flue pipes installed in coal-fired power plants usually need inner supports to ensure their stability. The design and arrangement of inner supports in rectangular flue pipe before electrostatic precipitator have an impact on precipitators effectiveness and lifespan. Currently, there are two schemes used for setting inner supports in China. One is National Standard Specification (NSS) and the other is an American Combustion Engineering company design criterion (CE). No work has been done on the comparison of these two types of inner supports, especially with consideration of ash deposition. In this paper, the effect of ash deposition on pressure drop and velocity distribution in practical production are carried out, which are adopted flue pipes volume 1/8 and 1/16 as the ash layer. The numerical results show that the ash deposition volume have effect on pressure loss of the straight flue pipes. However, the effect depends on the inner supports type.

Today, the company continues to manufacture and sell lighters from its main facility located in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The company has expanded into the production of high-quality hunting, pocket, and utility knives as a result of the purchase of W.R. Case & Sons and, through a subsidiary, Zippo Fashion Italia S.r.l., it sells leather products. This case presents an historical development of the firm taking it to its current day position and noting current challenges and future opportunities facing the company. A secondary issue confronting Zippo involves changes in American culture that have affected this company; more recent issues for Zippo include problems related to the Department of Transportations rule governing the shipment of hazardous materials and problems resulting from the manufacture of cheap knockoff lighters being produced in China. The present investigation is an attempt to evaluate the hot corrosion behaviour of high velocity-oxy fuel (HVOF) sprayed Cr3C2-25 % NiCr coating on 310S stainless steel in an actual industrial environment of a coal fired boiler. The cyclic studies were performed in the super heater zone of a coal-fired boiler where the temperature was around 700±100C. Experiments were carried out for 3 cycles each of 500 hours duration followed by 1 hour cooling in air till room temperature. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM, FEI, Quanta 200F Company) with EDAX Genesis software attachment were used to analyse the oxidation-erosion products. The Cr3C2-25wt% NiCr coated specimen showed good adherence to the 310S SS substrate with negligible microspalling of the scales. The Cr3C2-25wt % NiCr coating deposited on 310S stainless steel imparted better hot corrosion resistance than the uncoated one in the given environment.

The paper presents the results of a study of epigenetic changes in technogenic-redeposited coal-bearing rocks of Irkutsk and Kuznetsk coal basin spoil heaps (Russia). Hydrocarbon products formed under high-temperature and low-temperature pyrolysis of coal-bearing rocks were studied by using a chromatography-mass spectrometer GCMS-QP2010NC Plus (made by Shimadzu Company). The average temperature of low-temperature natural pyrolysis does not exceed 120 °C, and its average speed is approximately 2 m/year. In this case, three pyrolysis zones gradually built metamorphic rock mass (from bottom to top) are clearly established: heating (focal) activated and enriched. The average temperature of high-temperature pyrolysis reaches 850 °C, and its average speed is approximately 20 m/year. Unlike low-temperature pyrolysis, high-temperature pyrolysis is accompanied by the presence of two major zones (from bottom to top): pyrogenic (focal) and enriched (coke). The chemical composition of the enriched pyrolysis zone was studied in detail. It has been established that hydrocarbon compounds in samples of the pyrolysis zone are presented by six classes: asphaltic-resinous substances; polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heterocyclic compounds, organic sulphur compounds; pyrolytic hydrocarbon and heavy hydrocarbon residue. Quantitative content of hydrocarbon compounds in the analyzed samples varies from 0.35% to 41.88%.

The production volume target from 24.8 million tons in 2020 to 29.5 million tons in 2021 underlies the optimization of transportation availability in distributing coal mining products carried out by PT Bukit Asam Persero in achieving the growing target until 2023. In 2021, the Company will increase investment in developing business diversification, downstream coal. The railway network in Sumatra has a strategic role in serving the distribution of coal transportation. The railway line, which is directly connected to the location of the mining plant to port access and the availability of locomotive facilities and wagons that are very adequate, is an attractive option for mining companies and freight forwarders to establish coal transportation cooperation by rail. To meet the Babaranjang train tonnage target of 52 tons / year in accordance with the target of PT Bukit Asam (Persero), the Loop rail line design at TLS T4 PT Bukit Asam Muara Enim used the most effective classification. From the calculation results, 55 train trips are required per day to transport the production target of 57 tons / year in 2023. It is necessary to pay attention to the adequacy of the rail track from the TLS loop to Tanjung Enim Baru here it is necessary to conduct a study regarding the traffic from TLS to Tanjung Enim Baru because the number of trains set per day is 55 sets.

AbstractThe expansion of the Ford Motor Company into Soviet Russia has been understood as part of a unidirectional spread of American economic power and cultural forms abroad following the First World War. This essay looks beyond the automobiles and manufacturing methods sent from Ford facilities in Detroit to the emerging Soviet automobile industry to examine multidirectional migrations of workers between Russia and the United States that underlay but sometimes collided with Ford's system. Workers, managers, engineers, and cultural, technical, and disciplinary knowledge moved back and forth between factories in Soviet Russia and the United States. Efforts to define, track, and shape workers in both countries as Americans, Russians, or Bolsheviks were integral to the construction of the products and methods that Ford sold. But many workers fell in between and contested these classifications and they often defied company attempts to create an efficient and homogeneous American workforce. In Russia, too, more than Soviet and American automobiles were produced: people and ideas were created that crossed and blurred boundaries between “American” and “Soviet.” There, “Fordizm” became a popular watchword among Soviet commentators and workers as a near-synonym for industrialization, mass production, and efficiency. Many saw it as a potentially valuable component of a new socialist world. These multidirectional movements, recorded in Ford Motor Company archives and related documents, suggest that rather than separate and alternative projects, Ford's burgeoning system to transform manufacturing and workers' lives in Detroit was linked to the Soviet revolutionary project to recreate life and work.

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the manufacturing sector (manufacturing automotive spare parts) with a production process using fine blanking machines and international standard press machines. Based on the data obtained, related to product quality, there are problems that occur during the production process and product results. These problems are related to the level of defects in the production process. From historical production data from July to November 2022, sprocket products contribute the most defective products, both congenital physical defects of the material itself and during the production process such as dakon, scratch, crack/hadan, and burry, which can affect the quality specifications that have been set with a tolerance limit of 0.4%. In general, defective sprocket products can still be reworked, but it takes a long time, so the company will be greatly disadvantaged because production costs will soar. Therefore, based on these problems, the researcher uses the American Military Standard (Mill STD 105D) and American Military Standard (Mill STD 414) methods, which aim to look at aspects of the causes of defects, the level of defects on sprockets, and provide advice to companies on how to minimize sprocket product failure. Based on the results of research conducted on quality control planning using this method, it is known that the results of inspection can be accepted as passing when the number of variable defects is less than 6 pcs in 13 pcs for major defects, while minor defects can be accepted as passing when the number of attribute defects is less than 15 pcs in 200 pcs.

Studi terkait peranan aktivitas tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan (CSR) kaitannya dengan intensi masyarakat dalam membeli produk telah banyak dilakukan terhadap produk utama perusahaan penghasil barang. Sejauh ini belum banyak studi yang mencoba mengungkapkan hubungan aktivitas CSR terhadap produk Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) binaan CSR perusahaan pertambangan batu bara. Kekosongan ini menjadi menarik untuk diteliti mengingat adanya kewajiban pelaksanaan CSR pada perusahaan pertambangan batu bara di Indonesia. Adapun total responden dalam studi ini berjumlah 105 orang yang tersebar di sekitar area pertambangan batu bara di Kalimantan Selatan, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa intensi masyarakat dalam membeli sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas produk yang dihasilkan, bukan oleh persepsi masyarakat terhadap perusahaan. Temuan ini menggambarkan bahwa merek, nama besar, atau reputasi perusahaan tidak cukup untuk meningkatkan intensi masyarakat untuk membeli produk UMKM mitra perusahaan. Tata kelola CSR dan pendampingan yang tersusun dengan baik untuk peningkatan kualitas produk UMKM lebih berdampak pada intensi membeli produk UMKM. Pengelolaan dan pendampingan yang baik sangat penting untuk pengembangan UMKM mitra perusahaan agar dapat berkembang dan bersaing dengan berbagai produk atau jasa yang dapat diterima dengan baik oleh pasar. Kata kunci : tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan, kualitas produk, reputasi perusahaan, intensi membeli Studies related to the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in relation to purchasing intention have been carried out, where studies have been conducted on the main products of goods-producing companies. So far, there have not been many studies that have tried to reveal the relationship of CSR activities to the products of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) fostered by CSR of coal mining companies. This gap becomes interesting to be studied given the obligation to implement CSR in mining companies. The total respondents in this study are 105 persons that spread around coal mining areas in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. This study found that purchase intention was strongly influenced by product quality, not by people's perception of the company. This finding illustrates that a company's brand, big name, or reputation is not enough to increase people's intention to buy the company's partner MSME products. CSR governance and well-structured assistance to improve the quality of MSME products have more impact on the intention to buy MSME products. Good management and assistance are very important for the development of the company's partner MSMEs so that they can grow and compete with various products or services that are well received by the market. As the conventional disposal method for industrial by-products and wastes, landfills can cause environmental pollution and huge economic costs. However, some secondary materials can be effectively used to develop novel underground filling materials. Controlled low-strength material (CLSM) is a highly flowable, controllable, and low-strength filling material. The rational use of coal industry by-products to prepare CLSM is significant in reducing environmental pollution and value-added disposal of solid waste. In this work, five different by-products of the coal industry (bottom ash (BA), fly ash, desulfurized gypsum, gasification slag, and coal gangue) and cement were used as mixtures to prepare multi-component coal industry solid waste-based CLSM. The microstructure and phase composition of the obtained samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. In addition, the particle size/fineness of samples was also measured. The changes in fresh and hardened properties of CLSM were studied using BA after ball milling for 20 min (BAI group) and 45 min (BAII group) that replaced fly ash with four mass ratios (10 wt%, 30 wt%, 50 wt%, and 70 wt%). The results showed that the CLSM mixtures satisfied the limits and requirements of the American Concrete Institute Committee 229 for CLSM. Improving the mass ratio of BA to fly ash and the ball-milling time of the BA significantly reduced the flowability and the bleeding of the CLSM; the flowability was still in the high flowability category, the lowest bleeding BAI70 (i.e., the content of BA in the BAI group was 70 wt%) and BAII70 (i.e., the content of BA in the BAII group was 70 wt%) decreased by 48% and 64%, respectively. Furthermore, the 3 d compressive strengths of BAI70 and BAII70 were increased by 48% and 93%, respectively, compared with the group without BA, which was significantly favorable, whereas the 28 d compressive strength did not change significantly. Moreover, the removability modulus of CLSM was calculated, which was greater than 1, indicating that CLSM was suitable for structural backfilling that requires a certain strength. This study provides a basis for the large-scale utilization of coal industry solid waste in the construction industry and underground coal mine filling.

Abstract The company Sokolovská uhelná, was the largest producer of city gas in the Czech Republic. After its substitution by natural gas the gasification technology became the basis of the production of electricity in the combine cycle power plant with total output 400 MW. For the possibility of gasification of liquid by- -products forming during the coal gasification a entrained-flow gasifier capable to process also alternative liquid fuels has been in installed. The concentrated waste gas with these sulphur compounds is conducted to the desulphurisation where the highly desired, pure, 96 % H2SO4 is produced. Briquettable brown coal is crushed, milled and dried and then it is passed into briquetting presses where briquettes, used mainly as a fuel in households, are pressed without binder in the punch under the pressure of 175 MPa. Fine brown coal dust (multidust) is commercially used for heat production in pulverized-coal burners. It forms not only during coal drying after separation on electrostatic separators, but it is also acquired by milling of dried coal in a vibratory bar mill. Slag from boilers of classical power plant, cinder form generators and ashes deposited at the dump are dehydrated and they are used as a quality bedding material during construction of communications in the mines of SUAS. Fly ash is used in building industry for partial substitution of cement in concrete. Flue gases after separation of fly ash are desulphurized by wet limestone method, where the main product is gypsum used, among others, in the building industry. Expanded clays from overburdens of coal seams, that are raw material for the production of “Liapor” artificial aggregate, are used heavily. This artificial aggregate is characterized by outstanding thermal and acoustic insulating properties.

This paper examines how forces of fragmentation within the Maritimes contribute a partial but important explanation of the urban-industrial collapse that marked the region in the early 20th century. Specifically, weaknesses that affected the spatial strategies of the vertically-integrated industrial giant, the Nova Scotia Steel and Coal Company, provide evidence of limited interaction within the Maritime urban system. Profits from exporting staples, pig iron, and steel products to foreign and national markets, although initially aided by tidewater location and control over all phases of production, were not sufficient to overcome, in the long-run, such forces of fragmentation as dispersed and limited regional markets, increased costs of producing poor quality resources, or the minimal presence of external economies. With "Scotia's" eventual demise, towns like Sydney Mines, Trenton, and New Glasgow suffered economic and population decline.

Abstract The main task of the maintenance services in hard coal mines is to ensure continuous operation of the equipment (machines). The measurable effect of these actions should be the reduction of maintenance costs of equipment (machinery) and thus the reduction of production costs – coal mining. The paper presents an issue of failure rate of technical measures applied in the mining process. In order to ensure greater efficiency and productivity, it is necessary to find the causes of the most frequent failures in this process and effectively counteract them. As a result of these activities, the production availability of machines/equipment involved in the mining process will increase. This will to a large extent ensure failure-free and uninterrupted progress, increase productivity and improve the quality of manufactured products, as well as reduce the operating costs of equipment (machines), and thus reduce production and product costs. This effect should consist mainly in the control of rational, safe and effective use and operation of equipment (machines) in the exploitation process. An algorithm implemented in one of the hard coal mines was presented. The technical condition of underground mining equipment was observed by periodical measurements of vibration parameters at selected points on the machine – measurements were conducted with a vibration pen. The aim of this research is to improve the reliability of technological process of a mining plant through its failure-free operation. In order to achieve this objective, i.e. the efficiency of a mining company, it is necessary to reduce its costs. The action that leads to this aim is a proper assessment of the technical condition with regard to the equipment used in technological process.

The insurance company (or the insurer) like many other commercial organizations, needs persuasion for the sake of convincing the customers to buy his insurance products. The insurer uses many persuasive strategies through many platforms to persuade people to market his products. The current study aims to analyze the primary persuasive strategies that are used by AIG in facebook profile in order to specify the most effective strategies used by the American insurers, and to suggest the most suitable strategies to the Iraqi insurers. The present study hypothesizes that the persuaders use more than one strategy together to achieve their goals, and the American insurers focus on the persuasive strategies that show the insurance significance. This study analyzes nine samples by using the model suggested by Sabah (2019). It results in: the strategies are classified into three main types: primary, secondary and tertiary strategies and the ladder of the primary strategies suggested to Iraqi insurers (where there is no insurance awareness) is power, highlight benefits, context, character and emotions based on that of the American insurers: character, emotions, context, highlight benefits and power (where people have awareness of insurance).

This research is entitled "The results of the SWOT analysis approach in formulating company strategy at the american english course purwokerto". The purpose of this study is to determine and measure the company's strengths (Strength), company weaknesses (Weakness), analyze opportunities (Opportunities) and threats (Threats) at the American English Course Purwokerto. This research is a descriptive qualitative research by collecting information about research subjects and the behavior of research subjects in a certain period. Data processing is carried out with a SWOT analysis process as a strategy formulation tool. The SWOT analysis that has been formed is then formulated in the form of a SWOT matrix with 4 (four) strategic formulas, namely SO Strategy, WO Strategy, ST Strategy and WT Strategy. The results of the study show that the American English Course is a business engaged in services. An effective and optimal planning strategy is needed that covers all aspects from planning to marketing. Quality products, optimal services supported by the right infrastructure including promotional activities will certainly bring success to the company's progress. Customer satisfaction is the key that must be prioritized to seize market share that is increasingly growing and competitive. The findings in this study have several important implications for the company to further improve and improve strategies both in terms of planning and marketing, namely the need to improve product quality and human resources, improve service and creativity to consumers so that consumers do not move to other competitors, use technological developments as learning and promotion facilities.

Expansion of global production in the automotive industry has made America’s local plants increasingly racially varied but also more financially pressured. However, research on global firms under financial pressure that focuses on the workplace dynamics of managers and production workers of different races and nationalities remains limited. This article examines the organizational processes of masculinity enactment of three groups of men—Japanese managers, American managers, and American production workers—in a financially pressured Japanese auto-parts company. It describes how Japanese managers rationalized account manipulation as a profit recovery scheme and American workers validated this approach as being self-sacrificing and representative of heroic leadership; white American managers asserted their authority over engineers, women, and Japanese men by using intimidation and emasculation; and a production worker displayed his compensated masculinity by forcing his team to engage in hiding defective products. This article discusses the implications of these acts and their legitimization of unethical behaviors with the goal of increasing corporate profits from the perspectives of masculinities and of management.

Abstract The oil palm plantation in the ex-coal area is new hope for renewable energy. Oil palm is also known as an important source of raw material for many products and the plantation area is expanding. Mine reclamation area may be suitable for oil palm but there are challenges for its development. This study aims to determine the land suitability of the ex-coal mined site for oil palm and evaluate the growth and yield compared to the plantation in commercial cultivation from the previous studies. The study in a coal mine company in Indonesia used soil quality, rainfall, vegetation growth and yield production data in 4, 5, 6 and 7-year-old-plantations. The result showed that the ex-coal mined site referred to S2 or suitable with limited factors in the 7-year-old-plantation area, while S3 or marginal soil in other areas. The soil mostly had low nitrogen content and cation exchange capacity as if the initial condition before mining and required additional manure and nitrogen fertilizer. Water management was required due to the sandy loam texture in the 4-year-old-plantation area to protect water availability by the silt pit or cover crops, especially in the dry season. The plant height showed a positive correlation to the land suitability, although the plant height was far lower than in commercial cultivation. The yield production also confirmed a rapid increase after castration in 2019 for 4, 5 and 7-year-old-plantation areas. The findings are useful for considering potential plant species of choice in the ex-coal area.

Industry 4.0 implies sustainable production by providing green products created through environmentally responsible processes. This paper aims to analyze the two main business processes responsible for energy innovation in a telecommunications company: “develop property strategy and long-term vision” and “evaluate environmental impact of products, services, and operations”. The processes will be introduced using an initial set of key-performance indicators (KPIs) and American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) Process Classification Framework activities. Through value stream analysis, the non-value-added activities will be eliminated. Ultimately, to provide an overview for the stakeholders, a new set of KPIs will be proposed and the processes will be modeled using Event-Driven Process Chain (EPC) and Suppliers-Inputs-Process-Outputs-Customers (SIPOC) methods.

This article examines the divergent patterns of labour flexibility in two Canadian power transformer plants owned by the same company and producing similar products with identical technologies. The case study results are used to point to three oversimplifications in the flexibility debate: the claim that "numerical" and "functional" flexibility are incompatible; the argument that North American management relies more heavily on external flexibility than on internal flexibility; and the widespread contention that the traditional collective agreement is the chief barrier to achieving a more flexible organization of production in North America.

The experimental process was proposed in order to establish the viability of substituting part of the mineral fraction used at present (clayey material) by residues of combustion processes (ashes) of coal in thermoelectric, as an element to reduce the carbon footprint of the process of production of ceramic products, without altering the quality, properties and functionality of the final product. The study focuses on the specific case of a brick-making company in the metropolitan area of Cúcuta, and on the substitution of 10% of the raw material (clay) for ashes from the thermoelectric plant, for the production of ceramic blocks. The analyses carried out establish an energy saving derived from the use of 10% fly ash equivalent to 997.12Kg of Norte de Santander coal per burn. The results determine that, in the case of brick production, the annual reduction of emissions associated with the production process, with the use of ashes from the thermoelectric, would be 849.48 tons of CO2. Thus, the carbon footprint is reduced by 16.39kgCO2equiv/t finished product, which represents a decrease of 5.99% of the carbon footprint compared to the conventional process.
