Resumen
In the typology of morphological borrowing, one type has received little attention: cases where words are borrowed in several paradigmatic forms. An example of this is found in English alumnus – alumni, where Latin nouns are borrowed both in their singular and plural forms. Such borrowings lead to a coexistence of borrowed and native paradigms in one and the same language. This type of borrowing is called Parallel System Borrowing (PSB). Such patterns are wide-spread, and concern virtually all parts of morphology, including verbal inflection and pronouns. The emergence of PSB is not governed by a single sociolinguistic factor, such as the existence of learned registers (as with alumnus – alumni). In fact, it appears that some of the most spectacular cases of PSB have no relation to learned registers at all.

Resumen
The Vienna Academy was the most important art academy for German-speaking artists in the Baroque period. It shaped the development of art in the capital of the Habsburg monarchy as well as on its periphery, including in Silesia, yet the relationships between Silesian sculptors and painters and the Vienna Academy have been overlooked by scholars. Research in the Academy archives sheds light on a number of important issues related to the social, economic, and artistic aspects of the education and the subsequent activities of Vienna Academy alumni. Surviving student registers record the names of Silesian painters and sculptors studying in Vienna and offer insights into other aspects of education at the Academy.

Resumen
This research is originated from the main problem that is, the lower organizational effectiveness. Human is the main factor in gaining an organization's success to achieve its objectives. In line with the position of ASMTB alumni in determining the success of the college and the implementation of human resources, there are problems and challenges that must be faced. The alumni of ASMTB require coaching and internal coordination to achieve effectiveness. It was found that the effectiveness of alumni performance is still low and it can be inferred from the existence of the alumni who are less concerned about ASMTB and the alumni who do not register as alumni because until now it is only 10% graduates were involved in the alumni tresshold. The problem indicators appear caused by internal coaching and coordination that has not been implemented optimally. The results show that there is a simultaneous effect of 47.3% regarding the internal coaching and coordination. Testing indicates that the partial effect on the variance of coaching effectiveness of 21.2% and a partial internal coordination variables influence the effectiveness of the work which is determined by 24,2%.

Resumen
The study reported on in this article explored the perceived psychosocial and educational impact on educational communities by alumni of the North-West University who completed their Bachelor of Education Honours degree in Educational Psychology. This programme has been running since 2003 and aimed at training registered counsellors who need to pass the Board of Psychology examination of the Health Professions Council of South Africa to be qualified as registered counsellors. To achieve the aim of this study, telephonic interviews were conducted to gather data from the counsellor alumni of the 2007, 2013, 2014 and 2016 cohorts. In total, 18 participants voluntarily participated in this qualitative research study. The participants’ perceptions were analysed using inductive content analysis; the findings suggest that counselling is an add-on skill for these alumni, utilised only on a part-time or secondary basis, as the overwhelming majority work as teachers in educational settings. The psychosocial and educational impact from a registered counsellor’s perspective seems to be limited as most of them are teachers and only some provide counselling services in the educational environment where they work. The implications are that some adjustments in the training of registered counsellors – from a holistic wellbeing framework – need to be made, as that the category should be intensively marketed.

Resumen
BAN-PT has accredited Universitas Mahaputra Muhammad Yamin (UMMY) Solok, consisting of four faculties and twelve study programs. Ten study programs have received accreditation B, while two have received accreditation C. Since 1984, UMMY Solok has existed. There are 1,800 registered UMMY students until 2022. UMMY Solok graduates roughly 326 students each year for two types of graduations: odd and even semester graduations. It is vital to follow alumni systematically to respond to the growing number of graduates each year. This study attempts to determine the number of UMMY alumni employed, as well as if the knowledge learned during college applies to current jobs. This is geared toward bettering each study program's curriculum to meet the demands of the workplace. The alumni of 2017 graduates, a total of 381 graduates, will be the focus of the tracer study. Manual questionnaires were given to graduates who were not discovered through social media and online questionnaires. Meanwhile, for alumni discovered through social media (via Facebook, line, and WhatsApps) and IT-based, the questionnaires were given on http://www.ummy.ac.id. The questionnaires were given in a more focused and guided way. The establishment of an alumni database for the UMMY Solok tracer research can be accessed through lpkm.ummy@gmail.com. The following are the tracking results: (1) According to the survey results of the tracer study team, UMMY Solok alumni are looking for jobs before they graduate, and the average wait time for a job after graduation is five months. (2) UMMY Solok alumni who have worked in various countries or regions look for work in a variety of ways in order to find positions that match their disciplines and interests. (3) The topic of study is the variety of disciplines researched; the association between the field of study and alumni work is quite close (31,7%). (4) Almost all of the competencies held by alumni are good or very good.

Resumen
The system of recruiting workers in schools through special job fairs (BKK) is considered to be ineffective because the provision of job vacancies to alumni still uses information manually, such as using wall magazines as a place to post job vacancies and using social media such as Facebook as a means of information. Job opening is also considered less efficient due to limited users limited by social media itself. Registration is also done manually by alumni who come directly to BKK to register, and the vacancy data collection is still done manually, so it takes longer time to process registration data. The purpose of this research is to build a job vacancy registration system application through the BKK website based on the website to make it easier for BKK to provide job vacancy information and make it easier to recruit workers. This application development study uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. Test the app using system black box and user usability testing methods.

Although socioeconomic position is clearly related to mortality and one measure of this is length of education, it is not known whether the choice of course at university determines future health. We therefore investigated the association between faculty of study and all-cause and cause-specific mortality in a prospective follow-up of male students who underwent health examinations while attending Glasgow University from 1948 to 1968. Among the 9887 (84%) alumni traced by means of the NHS Central Register, 8367 (85%) had full data on important potential confounding variables; 939 of these men had died. Physiological variables differed little between students from the various faculties. Medical students were most likely to come from affluent social backgrounds and, after law students, were most likely to be smokers. Compared with former medical students, former arts and law students had excess all-cause and cardiovascular disease mortality, while science and engineering alumni had similar risks. Former medical students had lower lung cancer mortality than other alumni but higher mortality from alcohol-related causes including accidents, suicide and violence. The lower mortality risks observed among former medical and engineering students may be due to their better employment prospects and healthier lifestyle behaviours, although the high mortality from alcohol-related causes among former medical students underscores the complexity of choice of health behaviour. The findings point to the potential for disease prevention among the large proportion of the population who now have third-level education.

Resumen
AbstractIn December 1987, the Chinese Ministry of Education approved the establishment of Lingnan College under Zhongshan University in Guangzhou (Canton) on the site where the old Lingnan had been located. The ministry's decision came on the eve of the grand celebration of the centennial anniversary of Lingnan University, and it also came at the strong request of overseas and domestic Lingnan (Canton) alumni. Since then, Lingnan's loyal alumni all over the world, particularly those in Hong Kong and the United States, have contributed nearly U.S. 20 million to the institution. In addition, Lingnan College's tax-free teaching and research development fund, registered with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government since 1997, has gone up to U.S. 1.28 million. Although the Lingnan that existed from 1888 to 1951 is long gone as an institution, its memory has continued to command so much loyalty that a careful examination of the Lingnan experience is useful for understanding the dynamics of the American and Chinese educational interaction from the late-nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century.

Resumen
Abstract Objectives The Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP), Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences (DCPNS) offers three graduate programs with a strong focus on practice-based research competencies. This study assessed research involvement (RI) among registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) graduates of Rutgers' SHP DCPNS Entry-Level Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, and Doctor of Clinical Nutrition programs, and evaluated if there was a relationship between RI scores and years of employment as an RDN. Methods This was a cross-sectional study using the validated practice-based dietitian research involvement survey (PBDRIS) tool and included questions about sociodemographic and professional characteristics. PBDRIS total possible score ranged from 16 to 80 and a higher total score indicated a higher RI of the participant. Data were collected via an online survey and the sample included 94 alumni from the past 25 years (usable response rate of 32.5%). Descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation tests were conducted. Results Of the 94 study participants, 90.9% (n = 80) were female, 89.8% (n = 79), white or Caucasian, and the median age was 44.5 years. The majority of participants reported working in clinical practice (n = 69, 73.4%) and their median years of employment as an RDN was 22.0 years. The median PBDRIS total score was 54.0 (out of 80.0). Level 1, consisting of applying evidence-based practice (EBP), was the highest median sub-score (19.0 out of 20.0). The lowest median sub-score was level 4 (11.0 out of 20.0), involving activities about leadership in research. The most and least frequently reported activities were “applying EBP” (n = 78, 83.0%), and “applying for grant funding” (n = 59, 62.8%), respectively. There was a statistically significant medium, positive correlation between years of employment as an RDN and PBDRIS total scores (r = 0.396, n = 85, p < 0.001). Conclusions RDN alumni from the Rutgers SHP DCPNS had RI scores which likely reflect the unique research-based focus of the program curricula. With more years of experience as an RDN, RI scores increased. Funding Sources Rutgers School of Health Professions, Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences.

Resumen
Organizing a job fair is one of the steps to bridge the needs of companies in finding workers and the needs of job seekers to find work. Creative Media State Polytechnic (Polimedia) as a vocational college provides support to alumni to get decent jobs and according to their fields of expertise. In accordance with one of the Main Performance Indicators (KPI) of higher education, namely graduates get decent jobs [1]. However, currently Polimedia does not have a system that supports the implementation of the job fair or is still done manually. Research with the theme of developing virtual job fair information systems based on augmented reality and virtual reality has two objectives. The first objective is to develop an information system that assists the process of posting job vacancies and allows users to register for available vacancies. Then the second is to facilitate virtual job fairs. Because apart from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, holding a virtual job fair can be a distinct advantage for alumni who are looking for work because they can significantly save transportation and accommodation costs. The system development methodology used is the System Development Lyfe Cycle (SDLC) with the waterfall method. The waterfall method is divided into five stages, namely the analysis, design, implementation, testing and support stages. The design phase uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML), namely use case diagrams and entity relationship diagrams, while the implementation phase of augmented reality uses 3D modeling, markers and interface adjustments. In addition, the design of augmented reality and virtual reality applications uses the A-FRAME framework.

Objectives Expanding learner cohorts of medical students and general practitioner (GP) vocational trainees and the impending retirement of the ‘baby boomer’ GP cohort threaten the teaching and supervisory capacity of the Australian GP workforce. Engaging newly qualified GPs is essential to sustaining this workforce training capacity. The aim of the present study was to establish the prevalence and associations of in-practice clinical teaching and supervision in early career GPs. Methods The present study was a cross-sectional questionnaire-based study of recent (within 5 years) alumni of three of Australia’s 17 regional general practice training programs. The outcome factor was whether the alumnus taught or supervised medical students, GP registrars or other learners in their current practice. Logistic regression analysis was used to establish associations of teaching and supervision with independent variables comprising alumnus demographics, current practice characteristics and vocational training experiences. Results In all, 230 alumni returned questionnaires (response rate 37.4%). Of currently practising alumni, 52.4% (95% confidence interval (CI) 45.6–59.0%) reported current teaching or supervisory activities. Factors significantly (P<0.05) associated with alumni currently undertaking in-practice clinical teaching and supervision were: Australian medical graduation (odds ratio (OR) for international graduates 0.36; 95% CI 0.14–0.92), working in a regional or remote area (OR 2.75; 95% CI 1.24–6.11) and currently undertaking nursing home visits, home visits or after-hours work (OR 2.01; CI 1.02–3.94). Conclusions Rural–urban and country-of-graduation differences in the engagement of early career GPs in practice-based apprenticeship-like teaching or training should inform strategies to maintain workforce training capacity. What is known about the topic? Projected changes in the demand for and supply of clinical teaching and supervision within Australian general practice will require greater uptake of teaching and supervision by recently qualified GPs to ensure sustainability of this teaching model. Although interest in and undertaking of teaching roles have been documented for GP or family medicine trainees, studies investigating the engagement in these clinical roles by GPs during their early post-training period are lacking. What does this paper add? This paper is the first to document the prevalence of teaching and supervision undertaken by early career GPs as part of their regular clinical practice. We also demonstrate associations of practice rurality, country of medical graduation and undertaking non-practice-based clinical roles with GPs’ engagement in teaching and supervisory roles. What are the implications for practitioners? Establishing current teaching patterns of GPs enables appropriate targeting of new strategies to sustain an effective teaching and supervisory capacity within general practice. The findings of the present study suggest that exploring focused strategies to facilitate and support international medical graduates to engage in teaching during their vocational training, aided by focused supervisor support, may be of particular value.

Resumen
SUMMARYThe EPIET Alumni Network (EAN) is an association of professionals who have completed field epidemiology or public health microbiology training programmes in the European Union. In 2013, we conducted a survey of EAN members to investigate this network's role within European public health. We distributed an online questionnaire to members registered at the time, collecting data on demographics, professional background, and attitudes towards EAN. Out of 362 registered members, 189 (52%) responded; 97% were from Europe; 65% were female. Their mean age was 39 years. The highest academic qualification was PhD for 44% and Master's degree for 55%. The majority (60%) worked in public health institutes. They were especially satisfied with having access to job offers and professional networking via EAN, but requested more learning opportunities and knowledge-sharing between members. EAN is a unique platform where highly skilled professionals can connect to control infectious diseases locally and internationally. Having a network of professionals that know each other, speak the same ‘language’, and can easily access each other's expertise, represents an important resource for European and global public health, which should be nurtured by encouraging more collaborations devoted to professional development.

Resumen
Background: Online education is increasingly used to train health professionals, but little is known about how variations in cost affect use of elective training. We assessed whether offering registration for free increased the number of modules consumed in both absolute terms (# modules consumed per person, pp) and relative terms (# modules consumed per # modules registered). Methods: We analyzed results of the ‘natural experiment’ on learner's use of the OSU Center for Integrative Health and Wellness online elective curriculum, Introduction Herbs and Dietary Supplements Across the Lifespan, in which costs varied based on monthly discounts for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of selected professional associations. Results: Over 7 months there were a total of 905 registrants for 8553 modules. Most (847/905, 94%) registered for free; they completed 1505 (18%) of 8344 modules for which they registered. Fewer (58/905, 6%) people paid for registration; they completed a significantly higher percentage 90/209 (43%, P < 0.001) of modules for which they registered; those who paid full, non-discount rates had the highest completion rates (62%, P < 0.001). Free and paid registrants completed about the same average number of modules per person, pp, (1.8 pp free vs.1.6 pp paid). Conclusion: Although it may not contribute to financial margins, offering free online elective training addresses the institutional mission of increasing the number health professionals trained and the number of modules consumed compared with charging for training. Additional research is needed to determine the impact of pricing on educational outcomes and ultimately on patient care.

This study aims to: 1) Data Collection of Non-School Children (ATS), 2) Factors that cause ATS and return to school, 3) Attempts and motivation of ATS back to school. Using qualitative and quantitative methods with purposive sampling. The ATS data collection is constrained by synchronization of data from the district / city starting from the village and kelurahan level to facilitate verification of PIP data on children who have not yet received access to education in Surabaya City and Padang City according to the target because HR / data is less than the location and difficult geographical conditions, while the data collection time is limited. For this reason, a one-door mechanism is needed for data synchronization. Whereas the regions which were well recorded even exceeded the target achievement due to the area being the ATS enclave was Bogor Regency and Gorontalo Regency. The most common factors causing ATS are economic, geographical, social environment influences, and lack of self motivation in students. Efforts are being made so that ATS can return to education, among others; 1). The government and regional government guarantee that registered ATS will receive financial assistance and can continue schooling again; 2). Provide a learning place for ATS of at least one village, one study group with adequate facilities; 3). To provide guidance or assistance to ATS to motivate the ATS to get education services again; 4). Bring a psychologist or motivator to encourage ATS to come to learning; 5). Persuasive approach both to ATS and to parents; 6). Bringing ATS alumni who are successful and successful as an example / figure that is expected to generate enthusiasm and motivation for ATS to succeed as its alumni.

Resumen
IntroductionGeneral practice in Australia, as in many countries, faces challenges in the areas of workforce capacity and workforce distribution. General practice vocational training in Australia not only addresses the training of competent independent general practitioners (GPs) but also addresses these workforce issues. This study aims to establish the prevalence and associations of early career (within 2 years of completion of vocational training) GPs’ practice characteristics; and also to establish their perceptions of utility of their training in preparing them for independent practice. Methods and analysisThis will be a cross-sectional questionnaire study. Participants will be former registrars (‘alumni’) of three regional training organisations (RTOs) who achieved general practice Fellowship (qualifying them for independent practice) between January 2016 and July 2018 inclusive. The questionnaire data will be linked to data collected as part of the participants’ educational programme with the RTOs. Outcomes will include alumni rurality of practice; socioeconomic status of practice; retention within their RTO’s geographic footprint; workload; provision of nursing home care, after-hours care and home visits; and involvement in general practice teaching and supervision. Associations of these outcomes will be established with logistic regression. The utility of RTO-provided training versus in-practice training in preparing the early career GP for unsupervised post-Ffellowship practice in particular aspects of practice will be assessed with χ2tests.Ethics and disseminationEthics approval is by the University of Newcastle Human Research Ethics Committee, approval numbers H-2018-0333 and H-2009-0323. The findings of this study will be widely disseminated via conference presentations and publication in peer-reviewed journals, educational practice translational workshops and the GP Synergy Research subwebsite.

Resumen
This descriptive paper aims to discuss and share perspectives on a graduate travel course that integrated an international service-learning component. The course (Cross-Cultural and Global Perspectives in Education) taught in Kenya during the summer of 2010 had four registered students. Accompanying these students were the course instructor, two University of Scranton faculty members and three alumni. This article describes the experiences of two participants –instructor of the course and one graduate student who had never traveled outside of the United States prior to enrolling in this course. The students gained perspectives on the diversity of the African continent in general and Kenya in particular. Through course assignments such as journal entries, reflections on pertinent readings, discussion boards and experiences visiting primary classrooms, students acquired deeper insights into the educational system in Kenya, which helped quell misconceptions about the country. The notion of triple identity – citizen in a community, nation and world – was experienced by the students. A critical pedagogy approach, Ignatian pedagogy, in-depth reflection, international service-learning and learning outcomes will form the framework of the article.

Resumen
Atmospheric plasma spraying is used to deposit alumina and alumina-graphite composite coatings. The influence of arc current (plasma temperature) on the microstructure, roughness, elemental composition, and phase composition of the coatings is analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), surface roughness testing, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The tribological properties of the sprayed coatings are analyzed using a tribometer with a ball-on-flat configuration. The roughness of the as-sprayed coatings increases and the size of the granules decreases with the increase in plasma temperature. The results demonstrate that the friction coefficients and wear rates are slightly reduced for Al2O3 coatings sprayed at higher arc currents. The Al2O3-graphite coatings register lower friction coefficient values than the Al2O3 coatings under dry sliding conditions.

Resumen
AbstractEnglish as a second language (ESL) teachers instructing general English and English for specific purposes (ESP) in bilingual secondary schools face various challenges when it comes to choosing the main linguistic foci of language preparatory courses enabling non-native students to study academic subjects in English. ESL teachers intending to analyse English language subject textbooks written for secondary school students with the aim of gaining information about what bilingual secondary school students need to know in terms of language to process academic textbooks cannot avoiding deal with a dilemma. It needs to be decided which way it is most appropriate to analyse the texts in question. Handbooks of English applied linguistics are not immensely helpful with regard to this problem as they tend not to give recommendation as to which major text analytical approaches are advisable to follow in a pre-college setting. The present theoretical research aims to address this lacuna. Respectively, the purpose of this pedagogically motivated theoretical paper is to investigate two major approaches of ESP text analysis, the register and the genre analysis, in order to find the more suitable one for exploring the language use of secondary school subject texts from the point of view of an English as a second language teacher. Comparing and contrasting the merits and limitations of the two contrastive approaches allows for a better understanding of the nature of the two different perspectives of text analysis. The study examines the goals, the scope of analysis, and the achievements of the register perspective and those of the genre approach alike. The paper also investigates and reviews in detail the starkly different methods of ESP text analysis applied by the two perspectives. Discovering text analysis from a theoretical and methodological angle supports a practical aspect of English teaching, namely making an informed choice when setting out to analyse texts in English. It can be concluded from the literature that the register perspective yields more readily applicable data of text analysis for ESL teachers instructing in a pre-college environment. Besides teachers working in bilingual secondary school, the pedagogical conclusions of the study are also useful for teachers instructing in international secondary schools where the language of education is English and the alumni comprise non-native students.

Resumen
This paper argues that although the government and public Universities have committed to initiating several intervention measures targeting increasing students’ participation in Science and Technology Programmes, only 29% of students were studying a course in these areas by the year 2016. Such scenario implies that the country is seriously lagging behind in the realization of Kenya Education Sector Support Programme (KESSP I) participation target of 50%. The purpose of this study was to evaluate some interventions that could be employed to increase student participation. The study employed descriptive survey design to target 31 public Universities, 237 lecturers, 107 Heads of Departments (HoDs) and 31 Academic Registrars. Purposive sampling technique was employed to select three Public Universities, 12 HoDs, 24 lecturers, and three Academic Registrars who participated in the study and interview schedules were utilized to collect data. Qualitative data was analyzed thematically and reported in form of tables, quotations and narrations while quantitative data was analyzed by use of frequencies, percentages, means and pie charts. It was established that Inter-governmental co-operations, linkages and agreements, University-secondary schools linkages, Income Generating Activities (IGAs) and relying on philanthropic gestures were interventions employed. The study concludes that most intervention measures had not played a significant role in enhancing students’ participation and recommends that Universities should engage in Public- Private- Partnerships (PPP) in funding University education, including but not limited to the establishment of robust endowment funds through alumni and other donors for scholarships, establish and commercialize Intellectual Property Organization (IPO), promote co-operation for research, offer incentives to staff winning research grants, engage in value engineering and also diversify sources of income by adopting suitable business models ......

Purpose: The objectives of this study were (i) to describe ethnicity, tuition funding sources, and living arrangements during degree among Registered Dietitian (RD) and non-RD alumni of the University of Manitoba’s undergraduate nutrition program and (ii) to describe barriers to obtaining an internship among those who did not become an RD. Methods: A 31-item, self-administered, online questionnaire was distributed to nutrition graduates. Binary logistic regression was used to test for predictors of RD status (vs. non-RD). Results: Of the 195 participants who completed the survey (37% response rate), 68% identified as an RD and 31% did not. White students had 3.8 times higher odds of being an RD (P < 0.001) compared with students of an ethnic minority. Those who had received a student loan (P = 0.033) or lived with their parents during their degree (P = 0.004) also had significantly lower odds of being an RD. The most common barrier for not completing the dietetic internship by non-RDs was that the application process was too stressful. Conclusions: Results from this study highlight the need for the dietetics field to address systemic barriers for students of ethnic minorities and low socioeconomic backgrounds, including barriers during the degree program and in the internship selection process.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to establish the relevance of the real estate curricula being offered by the two universities in Botswana to industry. Design/methodology/approach This is a cross-sectional study in which a designed questionnaire was administered to the practitioners in real estate obtained from the membership list of the Real Estate Institute of Botswana (REIB), final-year students and former graduates of the Bachelor of Land Management programme using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. This resulted into the total population of 150 elements. Students for the Bachelor of Commerce in Real Estate (BCom RE) at Ba Isago and BSc Real Estate programme at the University of Botswana were excluded from the population because they did not have graduate degrees yet; therefore the study sample was drawn from the identified population at 90 per cent confidence level with a 10 per cent margin of error. The sampling frame composed of 122 registered property valuers and managers, 14 alumni and 14 final-year students of Land Management (150). The sample size of 60 was determined at 90 per cent level of confidence with a 10 per cent margin of error. The questionnaire was administered through e-mail using a contact list from the REIB to their members. It was also e-mailed to the alumni and physically administered to the final-year students as well. A 60 per cent response rate was achieved. Findings It was established that the three programmes offered at the two universities in their current form are relevant to the industry. The overall average scores out of 5 for these programmes were 4.14 for BSc Real Estate – UB, 4.10 for Bachelor Land Management – UB and 3.97 for BCom RE – Ba Isago University College. By using analysis of variance, the study further established that there were no significant differences between the two programmes that are offered at UB and the one at Ba Isago University College. This was established by looking at the computed F-test (0.89) and the critical F-test (2.36). Since the computed F-test was less than the critical F-test value, it was concluded that there is no significant statistical differences among the three programmes being offered in the two universities. Research limitations/implications The major limitation in this study was the use of an e-mailed questionnaire to the property practitioners and alumni of the Land Management programme which is characterised by a low response rate. Practical implications Since the three overall mean scores are close to and above 4.00, it means the current programmes offered at the two universities are relevant to the industry. Social implications The research results might be useful to the society and should be used to enhance the social uplifting of society by contributing to the decisions that are made which might affect the society as a whole. Originality/value This is the first study to be conducted in Botswana which was meant to establish if the real estate programmes offered in the two universities were relevant. It is the first study to compare and evaluate the relevance of the contents of three real estate programmes locally.

Resumen
Greendentistry is an upcoming practice which aims to reduce the environmental liabilities of a dental office. It is defined as a practice that reduces waste and pollution, saves energy and money, incorporates high tech innovations and is wellness based. To assess the knowledge, attitude and practice regarding green dentistry, amongst the alumni of a dental college in Pune. A questionnaire study was conducted amongst 900 graduates and post graduates of the dental college through an e-survey using google forms. A questionnaire was formulated after extensive literature search which was followed by validation, reliability testing and pilot testing among 30 participants. Statistical analysis used: Numbers and Percentages were computed for the responses and Chi square test was used for between group comparisons based on demographic variables. 310 dentists replied to the questionnaire. More than 60% participants had knowledge about waste disposal, eco-friendly sterilization, hazardous spill kits whereas less than 40% correctly answered about energy efficiency. Many participants agreed that environmental problems are something one can personally do a lot about and individuals should take lead in addressing them. 95.5% were registered with a biomedical waste disposal service. Practices like recycling reading material and using energy efficient appliances were relatively better than adequate disposal practices for fixer. The results suggest that the attitude towards environmentally responsible dental practice was relatively better than the knowledge and practice regarding the same. Increasing exposure to eco-friendly practices could help reduce the environmental burden of dentistry.

Resumen
Alcoa World Alumina Australia has undertaken comprehensive air emissions monitoring aimed at characterising and quantifying the complete range of emissions to the atmosphere from Bayer refining of alumina at its Western Australian refineries. To the best of our knowledge, this project represents the most complete air emissions inventory of a Bayer refinery conducted in the worldwide alumina industry. It adds considerably to knowledge of air emission factors available for use in emissions estimation required under national pollutant release and transfer registers (NPRTs), such as the Toxic Releases Inventory, USA, and the National Pollutant Inventory, Australia. It also allows the preliminary identification of the key chemical components responsible for characteristic alumina refinery odours and the contribution of these components to the quality, or hedonic tone, of the odours. The strength and acceptability of refinery odours to employees and neighbours appears to be dependent upon where and in what proportion the odorous gases have been emitted from the refineries. This paper presents the results of the programme and develops a basis for classifying the odour properties of the key emission sources in the alumina-refining process.

CONDITIONS AND MODES OF PARTICIPATION OF A STUDENT WITH MULTIPLE DISABILITIES IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ROUTINEAbstract: Using theoretical and methodological principles of a historical-cultural perspective of human development, particularly, social genesis and the mediated character of psychological functions, this article analyzes the conditions, modes of participation and the possibilities of integration of a student with multiple disabilities in the educational practices of an elementary school. Inserted into a collective research project that had, as its inspiration, the methodology of ethnography and microgenetic analysis, this field work experience was developed during a period of two years with a student with multiple disabilities. To register the field experience we used a field journal and video recordings. Our analyses showed the precariousness of social and institutional conditions in sustaining participation of a student with multiple disabilities in educational practices. In contrast, when faced with situations where there was a greater effectiveness of pedagogical mediation, there were possibilities for the student to participate in the educational context, even if the student’s performance was distant from what is expected of a fifth grader. The argument that we put forth from these discussions is that educational conditions affects the production of educational relationships and become a condition for human development. Therefore, in defense of education for students with multiple disabilities under the responsibility of the State, it is necessary to rethink the political guidelines of primary, secondary and special needs education, basing oneself on the way this has materialized in the day to day routine of Brazilian schools so that the full human development of people with multiple disabilities can be enabled. Keywords: Special education.
The nature of the social influence of media on social processes, the production of virtual information practices, to study these processes currently actualizes the need to use modern new tools for collecting, processing and data analysis methods. The purpose of this work is to analyze the activity of university graduates in communities, their identification through the collection of data from social networks. Assessment of the activity of graduates in social networks was carried out by “downloading” messages and news from online university communities. For each message, activity labels (“likes”, reposts, comments) were collected and graduates of these universities were identified (reconciliation with the register of graduates was carried out). The focus of the analysis is on identifying the actions of graduates - loyalty in the media space and the dissemination of information about the university community. The main methodological guideline was the approach within the framework of the microsociological paradigm, in particular, the idea of symbolic interactionism. The heuristic potential of using big data to analyze the activity of university graduates in communities allows us to expand our methodological arsenal and overcome the limitations of existing traditional methods of collection and analysis. The main research methods: interface programming, social network analysis of user interaction in social media, Web-crawling using a search engine, statistical data processing. Results: the main digital strategies of university graduates are characterized by the expansion of the audience, the promotion of content caused by the interest of users depending on the focus of the group. Four types of alumni communities have been distinguished: groups that identify with social development, with charity, with scientific research, and education. The high average value of the activity index belongs to charitable foundations, followed by the community of culture and science. The lowest average value of the activity index is recorded in educational communities.

Resumen
<p><strong>BACKGROUND: </strong>There is an increased demand in the Nutrition and Dietetics field which has fostered credentialing to ensure competent graduates. The objective of this study is to conduct an exploratory analysis to identify nutrition/dietetics workforce needs, skills and expertise in the New York metropolitan area as exemplified in position announcements over a 4 year period.</p> <p><strong>METHODS: </strong>We recorded position announcements for jobs in nutrition and dietetics from the New York State Registered Dietitian Yahoo group, and the Hunter College Nutrition and Food Sciences student and alumni listserv (NFS-L) over a 4 year period. Keywords were identified using job categories defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) compensation and benefits survey. This served as a starting point to enumerate the types of positions that have been posted for the New York metropolitan area in recent years.</p> <p><strong>RESULTS: </strong>Four hundred and twelve (412) unique job postings were recorded. Various educational levels, credentials, and skills desired by these employers were identified, assessed, and compared with similar data from the “supply side” reports from AND.</p> <p><strong>CONCLUSIONS: </strong>The credentials and skills most desired by employers are similar to some of the learning objectives set forth for DPD and DI programs by ACEND, but not entirely congruent. The need for both client/customer focus and computer literacy may be implicit in the standards, but a more overt inclusion of these skills would likely be of benefit to ensure these are inculcated into every program and student.</p>

Resumen
The present article is a research clipping whose general objective was to understand how the organizational structure of a public school made possible the work with students with disabilities for the realization of the truly inclusive education proposal. In this work we discuss the collaboration/partnership in a perspective that articulates the different segments of professionals of the school in the interlocution with the family, perspective that seeks to potentiate the learning of a student’s with disabilities. We present an experience developed with a student of Early Childhood education, in the context of a municipal school in the interior of the state of São Paulo, where the vice-director/researcher presents collaborative processes developed between teacher regent, a teacher of Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) and an educational agent, subjects who were responsible for preparing and developing projects, activities and teaching materials for the referred student. The data produced for this work are: Teacher's Diary, student’s Individual Development Plan (PDI), evaluation record of the student’s mother, daily register of the vice-director and the reflective register of the teachers and educational agent about their experiences with the student with disabilities. The production of the data was analyzed from the indexing paradigm. Collaboration/partnership was made possible through the constitution of a group of individuals who support each other, experienced joint actions and had feelings of productive belonging, around the common goal of guaranteeing student’s learning. The participation of the family was paramount to the achievement of the objectives proposed with the student with disabilities.
The existence of Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) in the Indonesian economy has a big role and potential in developing the national and sectoral economy absorbing a large number of workers. The development of UKM in the university environment is one of the responsibilities of the university and is a necessity to involve universities as a driving force for the emergence of young entrepreneurs in the campus environment. The Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra has formed a special institution that deals with student entrepreneurship issues, namely PUSKIIBI (Center for Entrepreneurship Innovation and Business Incubator). The research was conducted using the independent interview method, collecting institutional documents and institutional policies, and information related to student activities. From the data set and information, the formulation is carried out. Model of Institutional Synergy in Student Entrepreneurship Development at UMSU. This study aims to determine what institutions and the involvement of these institutions in supporting the progress of entrepreneurship in umsu and to create a model of institutional synergy that directly or indirectly synergizes with Puskiibi. From the research results obtained 1) the role of puskiibi as incubator is, access to community and business networking, support from experienced mentors, validation of ideas, infrastructure assistance, access to investors. 2) Related institutions that support the success of student entrepreneurship are SRCC, Study Programs in UMSU, LP2M, Halal Studies Center, and Haki Center. 3) The synergy model that must be developed is the recruitment of start-up candidates obtained from PKM-K participating students who have been netted by SRCC, student essays with downstream potential and student entrepreneurship independent campus participants obtained from Prodi, research lecturers with industrial potential from LP2M and alumni who come to register directly at PUSKIIBI. Furthermore, PUSKIIBI provides assistance, the certificate is only in synergy with the UMSU Halal Study Center and for the management of Trademarks and Patents through the UMSU HAKI Center.

Resumen
<p>Luminescent properties of Rhodamine 6G in porous alumina matrix have been investigated. From the SEM images the pore diameter is determined to be ~ 50 nm and the distance between the pores to be about 250 nm. Specific surface area of nanoporous alumina films measured by gas adsorption (BET method) was 6 m2/g. Absorption and fluorescence spectra of Rhodamine 6G embedded in pores of anodic alumina oxide were measured. Decreasing of absorbance of monomers was observed upon increasing of Rhodamine 6G concentrations. At the same time appearing of new maximum at the short-wavelength part as a result of formation of dimer of dye was registered. Increasing of concentration of dye molecules in the pores leads to quenching of fluorescence of Rhodamine 6G. The lasing characteristics were examined upon excitation of the samples by second harmonic Nd: YAG laser λgen = 532 nm, Еimp = 90 mJ, τ = 10 ns in the longitudinal form. The dye generation spectra in nanoporous alumina under different power densities of the pump source were measured. It is established that when the pumping source power is 0.4 MW/cm2 on the background spectrum of laser - induced fluorescence the narrow strip of the laser emission with a peak wavelength of 572 nm appears. Further increase in the power density of the pumping source leads to a narrowing of the band of generation and an increase in its intensity. The obtained results demonstrate the potential of using nanoporous alumina for creating the active elements of quantum electronics.</p>

Resumen
Abstract Objectives Differences in messaging from healthcare and wellness practitioners can lead to consumer confusion and mistrust in nutrition. The regular use of evidence-based nutrition resources by practitioners could improve consistency in patient education. The confidence registered dietitians (RDNs) and non-RDN practitioners have in providing nutrition education and the use of evidence-based nutrition resources in patient education is not known. Objectives: 1) To evaluate how confident RDN and non-RDN practitioners are in providing nutrition education, and 2) to evaluate RDN and non-RDN use of evidence-based nutrition resources. Methods An exploratory, online, cross-sectional study was conducted with a convenience sample of 34 RDNs and 32 non-RDN practitioners. The 15 question survey was tested for face validity and revised accordingly. Recruitment occurred via email and through local and state-wide professional organization list-serves. Confidence questions were measured using Likert scales and were scored from 1 (not at all confident) to 5 (extremely confident). Differences in confidence between groups were determined using Mann-Whitney U tests (P &lt; 0.05). Results Eighty-five % of RDNs and 31% of non-RDNs felt very or extremely confident in their ability to find evidence-based nutrition information; 65% of RDNs and 31% of non-RDNs felt very or extremely confident in their ability to provide evidence-based nutrition information to their patients. Non-RDNs felt less confident than RDNs both in finding (P &lt; 0.01) and providing (P &lt; 0.01) evidence-based nutrition information. Forty-one % of non-RDNs reported providing nutrition education to more than a quarter of their patients over the past year. More than 60% of RDNs and more than 70% of non-RDNs reported being unfamiliar with or never using multiple resources for evidence-based nutrition information, including Cochrane, Nutrition Evidence Systematic Reviews, and Practice-based Evidence in Nutrition. Conclusions The majority of RDNs and a third of non-RDNs felt highly confident in their ability to find and provide evidence-based nutrition information. However, more than half of RDNs and non-RDNs reported being unfamiliar with or never using multiple resources for evidence-based nutrition information. Resumen
An alumina-toughened zirconia (ATZ) material, fabricated using a procedure consisting of the common sintering of two different zirconia powders, was tested using the ball-on-disc method in a temperature range between room temperature and 500 °C. Corundum balls were used as a counterpart. The ATZ composite behaviour during tests was compared with that of commonly used α-alumina and tetragonal zirconia sintered samples. At temperatures over 350 °C, a drastic decrease in the wear rate of the material was detected. SEM analyses proved that, in such conditions, nearly the whole surface of the sliding material was covered with a layer of deformed submicrometric grains, which limited contact with the part of material that was not deformed. The mentioned layer was relatively strongly connected with the material, increased its resistance, and decreased its coefficient of friction. As a reference, commonly used materials, namely commercial alumina and tetragonal zirconia, were tested. The wear parameters of the composite were significantly better than those registered for the materials prepared of commercial powders.
