Resumen
The BV is the most prevalent alteration of the vaginal microbiota and constitutes an important public health problem, the prevalence varies by age, ethnicity, socioeconomic factors, and geographic region and the risk factors associated with this condition, are included the number of sexual partners, the use of the intrauterine device, use of vaginal douche, hygiene habits and sexual practices/behaviors. To determine the prevalence and factors associated with bacterial vaginosis in women of reproductive age. Cross-sectional study was developed in Botucatu, Brazil, including 315 women. Data were obtained by applying a questionnaire and gynecological examination, with sample collection for analysis of the vaginal microbiota pattern, according to the Nugent scoring system. The association between independent variables and outcome was performed using a regression model. The variables that most influenced the outcome (p<0.20) were taken to the multiple logistic regression model and those independently associated with the outcome (p<0.05) were identified. The prevalence of bacterial vaginosis was 32% (101/315) and the associated variables were: not living with a partner [1.13(1.02-1.25), p=0.021], use of vaginal douche [1.42(1.22-1.64), p=0.000] and genital hair removal [1.19(1.01-1.42), p=0.042]. Results point to the importance of screening for this vaginal dysbiosis in routine gynecological care and suggest the importance of health professionals conducting guidance on proper intimate hygiene practices for women.

Age-related maculopathy (ARM) is the leading cause of blindness in the elderly. Although beneficial therapeutic strategies have recently begun to emerge, much remains unclear regarding the etiopathogenesis of this disorder. Epidemiologic studies have enhanced our understanding of ARM, but the data, often conflicting, has led to difficulties with drawing firm conclusions with respect to risk for this condition. As a consequence, we saw a need to assimilate the published findings with respect to risk factors for ARM, through a review of the literature appraising results from published cross-sectional studies, prospective cohort studies, case series, and case control studies investigating risk for this condition. Our review shows that, to date, and across a spectrum of epidemiologic study designs, only age, cigarette smoking, and family history of ARM have been consistently demonstrated to represent risk for this condition. In addition, genetic studies have recently implicated many genes in the pathogenesis of age-related maculopathy, including Complement Factor H, PLEKHA 1, and LOC387715/HTRA1, demonstrating that environmental and genetic factors are important for the development of ARM suggesting that gene-environment interaction plays an important role in the pathogenesis of this condition.

Resumen
Conservation tillage offers economic and soil quality benefits, yet conventional tillage remains the prevailing system in some regions. The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of profitability factors, risk attitudes, crop rotations, and other farmer and farm characteristics on farmers’ choices to use no-till (NT), strip-till (ST) and reduced/conventional tillage (RCT) in producing dryland corn, wheat, and soybean in Kansas. The results show that factors such as crop yields, risk aversion, crop insurance, baling and grazing of crop residue, crop acreage, and farmers’ approach to adopting new technologies are significant factors in farmers’ choice of tillage practice.

Resumen
The article reveals the relevance and interdisciplinarity of the problem of choosing a marriage partner. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that currently there are particularly acute questions regarding the state of human health, both physical and mental. The main qualitative characteristics of the health capital are laid down at the micro level – in the family. The aim of the study is to identify the dominant factors of choosing a marriage partner at various age stages, as well as to identify unproductive factors that lead to the destruction of marriage. Theoretical analysis of the problem has shown that the factor of choosing a marriage partner is a driving force, an essential circumstance, the reason for choosing a specific partner in order to create a marriage. A set of interdisciplinary methods was used to conduct an empirical study: a questionnaire, the methodology "Role expectations and claims in marriage" by A. N. Volkov, an in-depth interview "Harmonious marriage", a metaphor for the concept of "Family", a projective technique based on the painting by I. Morsky "Girl with a paddle". It was found that the main factors in choosing a marriage partner are intimate-sexual, the factor of desired genetic traits, coordinated interaction, love, a sense of duty (pregnancy), merging with a partner, procreation, desired genetic traits, a sober and healthy life and the attraction factor of opposites. The factors of choosing a marriage partner at different age stages in women were revealed. For the age stage from 18 to 25 years, the most significant factors in choosing a marriage partner are emotional and psychotherapeutic, the desire to have your own home, partner empathy, recreating your own position among parents, financial calculation, sense of duty (pregnancy); for the age stage from 26 to 39 years - procreation, suitable age, desire to have a permanent sexual partner; for the age stage from 40 to 59 years – social activity, procreation, sober and healthy life, sense of duty; for the age stage from 60 years and older - procreation, suitable age, the desire to have your own home, partner empathy, the attraction factor of opposites. The results of the study made it possible to develop an educational program for girls from 18 to 25 years of age "Choosing a marriage partner".
