Vi har i detta arbete undersökt hur arbetssituation, med hänseende på de administrativa arbetsuppgifterna, ser ut för befälhavare inom den svenska handelsflottan och hur arbetssituationen har förändrats sedan införandet av ISMkoden. Det talas mycket inom sjöfartsbranschen om de ökade administrativa arbetsuppgifterna ombord och hur detta har påverkat arbetssituationen. Detta fick oss att vilja undersöka hur det egentligen ser ut och i vilken utsträckning en eventuell förändring har påverkat arbetssituationen både ombord och iland. Vi har i vår undersökning intervjuat befälhavare och rederirepresentanter på fyra Ro-Pax-rederier som trafikerar svenska hamnar om hur deras arbetssituation har förändrats under de senaste 15 åren med hänseende på den administrativa delen av arbetet. Undersökningen visar att det administrativa arbetet har ökat markant både ombord och iland, framförallt som ett resultat av nya regelverk och förbättrade möjligheter till kommunikation mellan fartygen och landorganisationen. ISM-koden är man överlag väldigt nöjd med men andra regelverk och myndighetskrav är man mer skeptisk till. Vad de ökade kommunikationsmöjligheterna anbelangar poängteras framförallt att det har inneburit en stor ökning av det antal meddelande man tar emot under en arbetsdag och ställer sig frågande till om alla verkligen är nödvändiga eller om det bara är ett sätt att snabbt skjuta över en uppgift till en annan del av organisationen.
We have in this thesis examined the work situation for masters in the Swedish merchant navy focusing on the administrative workload and how said workload have changed since the implementation of the ISM-code. Within the shipping business of today there is a lot of talk about the increasing number of administrative tasks on board and how they have affected the work situation. This made us want to examine if there actually was any such increase and to what extent said increase in that case have affected the work situation both on board and ashore. We have during our survey performed interviews with masters and ship-owner representatives at four companies within the Ro-Pax business who has traffic on Swedish ports asking them about the work situation on board and how it has changed during the last 15 years with respect to the administrative workload. The survey shows a substantial increase in the administrative workload both on board and ashore, mainly as a result of new regulations and vastly improved means of communication between ships and the organization ashore. In general there is a broad acceptance of the benefits of the ISM-code but a widespread skepticism when it comes to other regulations and government requirements. As far as the improved means of communication is concerned the increase in the number of messages received during a regular work day is emphasized and a question is raised whether there are valid reasons for the increase or if it to some extent is a way to clear your own desk by moving a task to another part of the organization.

Vi ser idag en alltmer åldrande befolkning. Detta ställer allt större krav på äldreomsorgen och inte minst hemtjänsten när en målsättning är att fler ska kunna bo kvar hemma längre. Statistiska rapporter tyder på en kraftig brist på arbetskraft inom just äldrevården, och allt mer hopp och förtroende ställs till tekniska och digitala lösningar för att effektivisera verksamheterna. På uppdrag av Phoniro, en av Sveriges största leverantörer av välfärdsteknologiska lösningar till äldreomsorgen, har det här arbetet syftat till att undersöka hur det administrativa arbetet med digital nyckelhantering kan förbättras och effektiviseras med ett uppdaterat gränssnitt. Genom en enkätundersökning och semistrukturerade intervjuer har en större förståelse för användarnas arbete i och kring administrationssystemet Phoniro Care genererats. Insikterna har sammanställts i användarberättelser för att vägleda framtida designarbete med Phoniro Care. Resultaten visar på behovet av en design som stödjer flera olika användartyper, och som ger bättre verktyg för översikt och hantering av information i systemet. Vidare så väcker berättelser om de olika organisationernas struktur och anpassning till digital nyckelhantering frågor om vilken kompetens som finns i verksamheterna när det gäller att förstå effekten av nya digitala lösningars implementation. Det väcker i sin tur frågor om hur företag som Phoniro kommer att behöva anpassa sig i takt med att den kompetensen växer i verksamheterna.
What we are witnessing today is an increasingly older population. This change in demographics will drastically change the demands of elder care and especially home care services to ensure that more people will be able to stay at home for larger parts of their lives. In addition, statistical projections suggest a critical lack of manpower in home care services in the coming decade, and an increasing amount of faith is put into technical and digital solutions to streamline the organizations. On behalf of Phoniro, one of the largest distributors of welfare technologies for elder care in Sweden, this thesis has investigated how the administrative work attending to digital key management can be improved and streamlined with an updated interface. Through use of an online survey and semi structured interviews a more comprehensive understanding of the users working with the administrative system Phoniro Care have been acquired. The findings have been modelled in user stories meant to guide future design work in the development of Phoniro Care. The results indicate the need for a design that supports multiple user types and better tools for overviewing the information available in the system. Furthermore, the differences in organizational structure between different organizations implementing digital key management raises questions regarding digitization competences in public sector organizations and understanding the effect of implementing new digital tools. In turn, that raises questions regarding a possible future need for adaptation for companies like Phoniro in handling an increasing digital competence in the organizations that constitutes their clients.

Over the years, the academic dean position has evolved from mainly focusing on student matters to an emphasis on promoting quality teaching and academic programs. The dean’s role is comprised of academic and administrative duties and responsibilities, requiring working with various stakeholders. The complexities associated with reduced budgets, increased enrollment demands, guarantee of quality education, and expectations from the private and public sectors create a perennial need for strong, competent leaders. Attributes for those in the dean’s position have been described as being able to keep peace among various groups with competing priorities. Other abilities address the many internal and external pressures confronting the position, and the need to motivate, plan, and establish a shared vision for the college. Research has found academic deans traditionally advance from faculty to administration with few opportunities to train for the administrative leadership aspect, having trained and oriented predominately for academic careers in scholarship and teaching. In the absence of administrative training, academic deans have found they lack the breadth and depth of administrative leadership practices. This research study examined the essential administrative competencies and preferred professional development method for academic deans responsible for discipline-specific colleges within the California State University (CSU) system. The study employed a mixed methods research design for the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. The findings from the surveys and interviews revealed significant results for identifying essential administrative competencies, and preferred professional development methods for effective academic deans. A common theme that emerged was that their prior academic training and experience did not provide a significant amount of transferable skills. Interview results described serving on committees, working with mentors, training with immediate supervisors, and attending professional development programs as the methods selected for administrative development. Survey results identified hands-on experience, and attending seminars as the most preferred professional development methods for the majority of administrative competencies.

A educação reconhecidamente é um dos fatores mais relevantes para o progresso econômico de indivíduos e nações. Em especial, destaca-se aqui a educação fundamental, a qual prepara o ser humano para a vida adulta, trazendo-lhe conhecimentos fundamentais para a vida em sociedade. Destarte, compreende-se que o grau de escolaridade da população, e principalmente, a qualidade do ensino oferecido refletem diretamente na qualidade de vida das pessoas, bem como no aprimoramento do exercício da democracia e da cidadania. Atualmente, no Brasil, a educação fundamental é acessível à praticamente toda a população, contudo existe uma preocupação no tocante à qualidade deste serviço público. Tal percepção advém da análise dos resultados mais recentes das avaliações em larga escala, tanto em âmbito nacional pelo Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (IDEB), como internacional (Programa Internacional de Avaliação de Estudantes - PISA). Verificando-se a evolução histórica destes indicadores, percebe-se um distanciamento entre o desempenho da educação brasileira e dos países desenvolvidos, desta forma, surgem indagações acerca das possíveis causas geradoras desta disparidade. Neste sentido, a adequada alocação de recursos e a gestão administrativo-pedagógica das escolas mostram-se como sendo pontos relevantes, e que podem auxiliar na resolução deste problema. Com o intuito de contribuir para a resolução desta problemática, definiu-se como objetivo geral desta tese, a proposta de práticas administrativo-pedagógicas que possam colaborar para a melhoria no desempenho de escolas municipais do ensino fundamental, de baixo nível socioeconômico, no IDEB. Para tanto, os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados envolveram uma abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. Na primeira etapa, foi utilizada a técnica Análise Envoltória de Dados (DEA), em conjunto com a análise de quintil e regressão logística, para que fosse possível realizar uma análise das informações oriundas das bases de dados governamentais (FINBRA, Prova Brasil e Censo Escolar). Num segundo momento, foram realizados estudos de múltiplos casos no estado do Ceará, a fim de se obter em loco informações que pudessem auxiliar na compreensão e explicação do fenômeno estudado. Por fim, as informações advindas de ambas etapas foram cruzadas e analisadas, chegando-se à proposta de catorze práticas administrativo-pedagógicas, que provavelmente podem gerar reflexos positivos no desempenho das escolas municipais do ensino fundamental, de baixo nível socioeconômico no IDEB.
Education is admittedly one of the most relevant factors for the economic progress of individuals and nations. In particular, it\'s highlight here the fundamental education, which prepares the human being for adult life, bringing him elementaty knowledge for live in society. Thus, it is understood that the educational level of the population, and especially the quality of education offered, directly reflect the quality of life of the people, as well as the improvement of the exercise of democracy and citizenship. Currently, in Brazil, basic education is accessible to practically the entire population, however there is a concern regarding the quality of this public service. This perception comes from the analysis of the most recent results of large-scale evaluations both at the national level by the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB) and international (International Student Assessment Program - PISA). Verifying the historical evolution of these indicators, reveals a gap between the performance of Brazilian education and the developed countries, in this way, emerge questions about the possible causes of this disparity. In this sense, the adequate allocation of resources and the administrative-pedagogical management of the schools are shown as relevant points, and that can help in solving this problem. In order to contribute to the solution of this problem, the general objective of this thesis was to propose administrative and pedagogical practices that could contribute to the improvement of the performance of low socio-economic primary schools in IDEB. Therefore, the methodological procedures used here involved a quantitative and qualitative approach. In the first stage, the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique was used, together with quintile analysis and logistic regression, so that it was possible to perform an analysis of information from governmental databases (FINBRA, Prova Brasil and Censo Escolar). In a second moment, studies of multiple cases were carried out in the state of Ceará, in order to obtain information that could help in the understanding and explanation of the phenomenon studied. Finally, the information from both stages was cross-referenced and analyzed, reaching the proposal of fourteen administrative and pedagogical practices, which can probably generate positive effects on the performance of municipal schools of elementary education, of low socioeconomic level in the IDEB.

Problemformulering: Föreligger det inom den administrativa byggbranschen fortfarande några strukturella skillnader i hur kvinnliga och manliga ledare premieras samt hur deras kompetens värderas? Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva förekomsten av strukturella skillnader i hur kvinnliga och manliga ledare inom den administrativa byggbranschen premieras samt hur deras kompetens värderas. I de fall vi finner strukturella skillnader ämnar vi även att beskriva och förstå i vilken grad de förekommer, och hur de tar sig till uttryck. Metod: Kvalitativ metod med abduktiv ansats där intervjuer har genomförts med totalt sex respondenter, tre kvinnliga och tre manliga med vardera minst tio års erfarenhet i branschen. Teoretisk referensram: Den teoretiska referensramen behandlar teorier om social konstruktion, strukturella skillnader, ledarskap, organisationsteori och institutionell teori. Teorierna ligger till grund för jämförelsen med det empiriska underlaget från respondenterna. Slutsats: Studien har lett fram till tre slutsatser. För det första, fördomar och generaliseringar existerar om att hela byggbranschen ser likadan ut. Slutsatsen är att byggbranschen måste delas in i två olika arbetskategorier, tjänstemannasidan och yrkesmannasidan, då förutsättningarna skiljer sig så pass mycket åt. För det andra, gamla traditioner och fördomar förklarar branschens könsfördelning och brist på kvinnor. Slutligen, trots att gamla traditioner seglivat lever kvar och är svåra att bryta har mycket hänt bara de senaste tio åren inom den administrativa byggbranschen. Detta beror främst på att branschen idag består av fler kvinnor, att ett generationsskifte sker samt att samhällsdebatten ser annorlunda ut.

Sandvik Wire needed a review of the administrative part of the order fulfillment process and especially the work around packing and the inventory of finished goods. Therefore we acquired the assignment to investigate the administrative part of the order fulfillment process in the company with the purpose to identify potential for improvement. This investigation was performed with focus on the terminal and packing functions. The purpose with the investigation was also to identify critical factors for an efficient order fulfillment process and investigate if information quality is such a factor. Data was collected through interviews and observations on Sandvik Wire. With the help of this data the information and material flows was mapped, the work within terminal and packing, and adjacent functions was investigated. Through analysis where the collected data was compared with information from literature studies the information quality within the company was investigated and critical factors for an efficient order fulfillment process could be identified. There are several dimensions of information quality and within Sandvik Wire deficits in three dimensions was identified. These are timeliness, accessibility and completeness. The causes for these deficits are inefficient information systems and manual handling of information. In this report we present suggestions for how these deficits can be corrected. We have also investigated the cooperation and communication within the company. A conclusion is that the information quality, communication and cooperation are interdependent. These factors also have a significant impact on the efficiency in the order fulfillment process and can therefore be seen as critical factors for its efficiency.
Sandvik Wire hade behov av att se över den administrativa delen av orderprocessen och särskilt arbetet kring packning och färdigvarulager. Därför fick vi i uppdrag att undersöka den administrativa delen av orderprocessen i företaget med syftet att identifiera förbättringspotential. Denna undersökning utfördes med fokus på terminal- och packningsavdelningen. Syftet med arbetet var även att identifiera kritiska faktorer för en effektiv orderprocess på företaget och undersöka om informationskvalitet är en sådan faktor. Genom intervjuer och observationer inhämtades information på Sandvik Wire.  Med hjälp av denna information kartlades informations- och materialflöden, arbetet inom terminal och packning samt närliggande funktioner. Genom att jämföra kartläggningen med litteraturstudierna kunde informationskvaliteten på företaget undersökas och kritiska faktorer för en effektiv orderprocess identifieras. Det finns flera olika dimensioner av informationskvalitet och på Sandvik Wire identifierades brister i tre av dimensionerna. Dessa är läglighet, tillgänglighet och fullständighet. Bristerna beror på ineffektiva informationssystem samt manuell hantering av information. Vi presenterar i detta arbete förslag på hur dessa brister kan åtgärdas. Vi har även undersökt samarbetet och kommunikationen inom företaget. En slutsats är att informationskvaliteten, kommunikationen och samarbetet inom orderprocessen är beroende av varandra. Dessa faktorer har även en betydande påverkan på effektiviteten inom orderprocessen och kan därmed ses som kritiska faktorer för dess effektivitet.

Flyktingmottagande och integration har under en längre tid ansetts fungera dåligt. Etableringen av nyanlända tog för lång tid och för få hade kontakt med arbetslivet. Det stod klart att en förändring var nödvändig. Det svenska flyktingmottagandet genomförde år 2010 en stor strukturomvandling eftersom delar av integrationen som handlar om arbetsmarknadsetablering flyttades från kommunerna till staten. Genom den nya etableringsreformen hoppas regeringen på att effektivt och snabbt kunna etablera nyanlända i arbets- och samhällslivet. Ändamålet är att uppnå egenförsörjning. Genom reformen fick kommunerna, Arbetsförmedlingen, länsstyrelserna, Försäkringskassan samt Migrationsverket nya eller ändrade ansvarsområden och samtidigt infördes en ny aktör, lotsen, vars syfte är att stödja och påskynda den nyanländes etablering. Trots att reformen genomfördes nyligen framgår det från vissa håll att det nya systemet brister på en del punkter.  Den nya etableringsreformen är ett omdiskuterat ämne. Meningsskiljeaktigheter råder beroende på vilken myndighet respektive individ som tillfrågas. För att få svar på om etableringsreformen är bra och huruvida den var nödvändig genomfördes en granskning med början i det gamla systemet till vad syftet med reformen är och hur det fungerar. För att inte enbart få den teoretiska delen av det nya systemet genomfördes intervjuer med Arbetsförmedlingen och kommunen samt granskningar av en del rapporter och utredningar för att få svar på hur det fungerar i praktiken. För att reformen ska ge goda resultat krävs att alla aktörer uppfyller sina uppgifter och tar sitt ansvar. Reformen har haft sina svårigheter men samtidigt bör det finnas i åtanken att den är tämligen ny. Det kommer ta tid tills systemet är integrerat. Samtidigt finns det en stor risk för att dominoeffekten uppstår i reformens rättssystem om det brister i ett av leden och då är vi tillbaka på ruta ett.
The reception of refugees and integrations have for a long period of time been considered to work poorly. The establishment of newly arrived didn’t go as fast as needed, and too few made contact with the working life.  It was clear that a change was necessary. The Swedish reception of refugees carried through with a big transformation of structure since parts of the integration considering labour-market establishment got moved from the local authorities to the Government. Throughout the new establishment reform the Government wishes to efficiently and quickly be able to establish newly arrived refugees into the working- and social life. The purpose is to achieve self-support. The reform contains new or changed areas of responsibilities for the municipality, the Employment Office, the county administrative board, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and Swedish Migration Board. At the same time a new operator called “etableringslots” was introduced with the purpose of supporting and hastening the establishment of the newly arrived. Even though the reform was recently accomplished it is clear from certain sides that the new system fails on some certain parts. The new establishment reform is to this day a much discussed subject. Disagreements of opinions exist depending on which authority respectively individual that gets asked. A study got carried through, starting with the former system, to find out if the new establishment reform was good enough, if it was necessary and how it all works. Not only to get the theoretical part of the new system but to also get the practical part, interviews were made with the employment agency and the local authority. Closed examinations of some reports and investigations also occurred to get an answer of how it works when it is put into practice. All parties are required to fulfill their duties and their responsibilities so that the reforms result turns out well. The reform has had its difficulties but it should be kept in mind that it is fairly new and it will take some time for the system to get integrated. At the same time there is a great risk that the domino effect occurs in the legal reform if one of the trails fall and in that case we would be back at square one.

No Brasil, o sistema de saúde é composto por duas estruturas: pública, representada pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) e privada suplementar, composta por 1.268 operadoras de planos de saúde, supervisionadas pela Agência Nacional de Saúde (ANS). No entanto, as operadoras têm sido consideradas ineficientes tanto na geração de resultados financeiros quanto na prestação de serviços aos beneficiários, destacando-se a necessidade e relevância para a saúde pública ao se buscar avaliar o seu desempenho sob essas perspectivas. O objetivo do trabalho foi, para um mesmo nível de eficiência na prestação de serviços, identificar as práticas administrativas que diferenciam as operadoras de planos de saúde (OPS) financeiramente sustentáveis. Para tanto, inicialmente foi aplicada a técnica da Análise Envoltória de Dados (DEA) no intuito de identificar operadoras eficientes em transformar inputs em outputs e, a partir dos escores obtidos, selecionar duas OPS de nível de serviços semelhantes e desempenho financeiro opostos para que fossem comparadas por meio de um estudo de múltiplos casos. A análise quantitativa indicou que as OPS de medicina de grupo apresentaram maior eficiência do que as demais modalidades. Já o estudo de múltiplos casos identificou que a gestão de políticas de crédito, de captação e aplicação de recursos, o planejamento tributário, a adoção de políticas de promoção e prevenção à saúde, as formas de remuneração dos médicos e a estratégia de composição de receitas diferenciaram a OPS de melhor desempenho.
In Brazil, the health system is composed of two structures: the public represented by the Unified Health System (SUS) and private supplementary, comprising 1,268 operators of health plans supervised by the National Health Agency (ANS). However, operators have been considered inefficient, both in the generation of financial results as in the provision of services to beneficiaries, highlighting the need and relevance to public health when it comes to assessing their performance in these prospects. The goal was for the same level of efficiency in service delivery, identify management practices that differentiate the health plan operators (OPS) financially sustainable. Thus, it was initially applied to Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to identify carriers of efficient health plans in the processing of inputs and outputs, and the scores by selecting two of them with a similar level of service and opposite financial performance they were compared to the cases of multiple analysis. Quantitative analysis indicated that the support type operators managed showed greater efficiency than other types. The study analysis of multiple cases identified that the political credit management, finance and investments, tax planning, adoption of health promotion and prevention policies, forms of remuneration of doctors and recipe composition of strategy were practices that differentiate the operator with the best performance.

This study was designed to explore the perceptions of the leadership behavior of deans of students at 15 universities in the Republic of China (ROC). The study groups included the deans of students, student affairs staff members, and student leaders within the 15 universities. The Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ) was employed to assess the leadership behavior of the deans of students in the dimensions of initiating structure and consideration. The population included 10 current deans of students and 8 former deans of students, 173 student affairs staff members, and 224 student leaders. In addition, six current deans of students and one officer of the Ministry of Education were interviewed by the researcher. The conclusions are as follows. 1. Current and former deans of students had the same perceptions and expectations of the leadership behavior in the initiating structure and consideration dimensions. 2. Effective leadership behavior of deans of students was associated with high scores on initiating structure and consideration. 3. Deans of students employed different leadership behaviors to lead the student affairs staff members and student leaders. 4. The leadership behavior of the deans of students was inclined toward high initiating structure and low consideration. 5. Deans of students and student affairs staff members had differing perceptions of leadership behavior on real consideration. 6. Deans of students and the student leaders had differing perceptions of leadership behavior on real initiating structure. This study suggested that a dean of students may want to employ a plan of self-study, or participate in leadership training programs, workshops, and conferences related to student affairs to improve leadership behavior effectively. Further research to examine the perceptions of the leadership behavior of deans of students is recommended.

Este trabalho realiza o estudo da produtividade de uma organização sem fins lucrativos, utilizando-se para isto da DEA - Análise por Envelopamento de Dados. A organização que substancia o caso em foco é o sistema penitenciário do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. O dispositivo, munido da idéia básica de verificar a produtividade a partir da observação do valor da razão produto/insumo, associa uma n-upla de valores a cada instituição analisada. Desta forma, as unidades estudadas passam a se comportar como elementos de um espaço n-dimensional, passível de receber um tratamento vetorial. O ranking de eficiência neste espaço não se efetiva em apenas um único eixo, isto é, as unidades mais eficientes não são aquelas que se encontram nas primeiras posições em apenas um aspecto produtivo, uma vez que estas não existem, dada a pluralidade da situação, mas são aquelas mais próximas de uma hipersuperfície, a chamada superfície de eficiência. As variáveis mensuradas e a eleição das verdadeiramente indicadoras do desempenho tomam importante parte do trabalho, baseando-se amplamente no referencial teórico. Foram determinados três pontos de vista diferentes para observar o problema e para cada um destes foi elaborada uma função de avaliação específica. No final, há um ranking destas unidades sob estes três pontos de vista diferentes, seguidas das conclusões do trabalho.

Este estudo teve como objetivo compreender a influência das práticas administrativo-pedagógicas que podem colaborar para o desempenho dos alunos de escolas públicas municipais do ensino fundamental do estado de São Paulo no IDEB. Para isso foi realizado uma adaptação da metodologia proposta por Salgado Junior (2013) que envolveu a realização de uma pesquisa de abordagem quali-quantitativa, dividida em duas etapas. A primeira etapa consistiu na aplicação da técnica DEA em 1.298 escolas públicas municipais do estado de São Paulo, cuja finalidade foi identificar as escolas eficientes em transformar investimento financeiro, nível socioeconômico e infraestrutura em desempenho no IDEB. A segunda etapa consistiu na realização de um estudo de múltiplos casos, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, análise documental e observação assistemática nas cinco escolas eficientes identificadas pela técnica DEA e em cinco escolas ineficientes (com escore DEA inferior a 0,80) escolhidas por possuírem características semelhantes e estarem localizadas nos mesmos municípios das escolas eficientes. A análise dos resultados, apresentados nos estudos de caso, revelou a existência de 23 práticas administrativo-pedagógicas que apresentam evidências de ter influenciado o desempenho dos alunos no IDEB. Os resultados indicam que a participação da família na vida escolar do filho, assim como a cobrança da comunidade perante o Diretor pode contribuir para melhoria no desempenho dos alunos no IDEB. A preparação específica para a Prova Brasil, a rotatividade de Professores nas disciplinas de Português e Matemática e o sistema disciplinar também foram práticas identificadas nesta pesquisa que podem contribuir para o desempenho dos alunos. Por fim, os resultados encontrados nessa pesquisa podem ser utilizados para definição sobre a destinação dos recursos financeiros por parte da SME e orientar os Diretores na gestão dos processos administrativo-pedagógico da escola, a fim de promover uma melhoria no desempenho dos alunos no IDEB
This study aimed to understand the influence of administrative and pedagogical practices that may contribute to the performance of students in public schools of primary education in the state of São Paulo in IDEB. To this was accomplished an adjustment of the methodology proposed by Salgado Junior (2013) involving the use of a qualitative and quantitative approach to research, divided into two stages. The first step was the application of DEA in 1,298 public schools of São Paulo, whose purpose was to identify the efficient schools in turning financial investment, socioeconomic status and performance in infrastructure in IDEB. The second stage consisted of a study of multiple cases, through semi-structured interviews, document analysis and systematic observation in the five efficient schools identified by the DEA and five inefficient schools (with DEA score less than 0.80) selected for having similar characteristics and located in the same municipalities of effective schools. The results presented in the case studies revealed the existence of 23 administrative and pedagogical practices that show evidence of having influenced the performance of students in IDEB. The results indicate that family participation in school life of the child, as well as pressure of the community before the principal can contribute to improvement in student performance in IDEB. The specific preparation for the Prova Brasil, the turnover of teachers in the disciplines of Portuguese and Mathematics and the disciplinary system were also identified in this research that may contribute to student performance. Finally, the results found in this research can be used for the definition on the allocation of financial resources by the SME and guide the directors in the management of administrative and pedagogical processes of school in order to promote an improvement in student performance in IDEB

The major purpose for this study was to determine the self-perceived leadership styles of the presidents, vice-presidents, and deans of public community and junior colleges in Texas in 1994. Administrators' choices of leadership style were also compared with personal characteristics of leaders, such as age, gender, title, number of years in current position, number of years in current institution, number of years in administration, degree earned, number of years in teaching, and number of full-time subordinates. The backgrounds of the administrators, particularly their previous experience, control over their respective budgets, size of their budgets (state, local, other, percentage of workers' compensation), and the ethnicity of leaders, were also examined. The Styles of Leadership Survey and a Demographic Information Form were used to collect the data.

This dissertation examines the long term effects of population control initiatives brought to the U.S. commonwealth of Puerto Rico to reveal the connections between insular reform programs and the constraints placed on reproductive autonomy for Puerto Rican women in a colonial setting. The history of these interventions exposes how various interest groups including mainland reformers, the Catholic Church, Puerto Rican nationalists and socialists, and colonial intermediaries obscured the damage done to Puerto Rico through poor colonial management during the first thirty years of U.S. occupation by shifting the blame for Puerto Rico’s problems to the supposedly dangerous reproductive habits of poor and working class Puerto Rican women. In all cases, overpopulation discourse and the production of knowledge claims regarding Puerto Rican sexuality, reproduction, population control as a tool of modernization contributed heavily to these pressure groups’ appeals to legitimacy of rule over the island throughout the century. In less than fifty years the conflation of birth control practices, eugenic ideology, and population control legislation would transform Puerto Rico into a social science/contraceptive laboratory, having such a profound impact on the trajectory of birth control culture that a 1981 fertility survey showed that over one third (39%) of the island’s women were sterile. By analyzing the production of this distorted representation of insular conditions and reproduction trends in Puerto Rico during this early phase of U.S. control over the island, this dissertation explores how the convergence of modernizing reform initiatives, population control policy, social science, and overpopulation discourse contributed to the colonial domination of Puerto Rican women’s reproductive autonomy and transformed their into sites of colonial encounters despite living in a nation which denies its own colonial status and history.

New Deal Art Now offers a sampling of the breadth of the Works Progress Administration and Federal Art Projects (WPA/FAP), calling attention to the skills, histories, and social identities of an extraordinarily diverse spectrum of professional and amateur artists funded by the United States federal government during the Great Depression. The New Deal, a major economic stimulus initiative that ran from 1935-1943, included the Works Progress Administration Federal One Projects, encompassing fine art, music, theater, writing, and design. These projects provided economic support and cultural enrichment to hundreds of thousands of Americans, in the form of jobs, entertainment, and education in the arts. New Deal Art Now seeks to reframe a period of United States artistic production that is often narrowly cast in exhibitions and their related literature on the subject. The theme of diversity is explored through several critical lenses, such as questioning the relationship between art and artifact, considering that many creative works of the New Deal function as both. The majority of the exhibited artworks are juxtaposed against one another to challenge the designations that contemporary material culture traditionally assigns them. Showcasing 48 objects in total, the exhibits include painting, sculpture, educational models, archival film, and archival audio, which are juxtaposed alongside contemporary paintings, photography, and music, created in conjunction with this exhibition. By situating these works (as well as the very categories of amateur and professional, art and artifact, museum and archive, past and present) in productive relation to one another this exhibition argues for the significance of all of these works and artists to the diverse history of twentieth-century American art.

The purpose of this quantitative research study was to analyze the roles of assistant and associate deans in the colleges or schools related to the disciplines of business, education, and arts and sciences within four different classifications of institutions [Research Universities I and II and Doctoral Universities I and II], as described by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Respondents in the study came from institutions accredited by the Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Respondents included 191 associate deans and 60 assistant deans, of whom 154 were men and 97 were women. Chi-square statistics were used to analyze assistant and associate deans' perceptions of (1) whether their positions are line or staff; (2) whether they would recommend changes in their positions; (3) whether each was interested in becoming deans at their present institution or another institution. Three composite scores from factor analysis were analyzed by three-way ANOVA: (1) Curriculum, (2) Administrative Leadership and Relationships, and (3) Budget. A second statistical analysis included t-tests and a one-way ANOVA for Composite #2, Administrative Leadership and Relationships. Results showed no significant differences in (1) whether assistant and associate deans perceive that deans differentiate their positions as line or staff, and (2) between associate deans and assistant deans in regard to their interest in becoming deans at their institutions. From the factor analysis, results showed no significant differences in Composite #1, Curriculum, for the independent variables: gender, college, gender by college, dean by college, and gender by dean by college. For Composite #2, results showed no significant differences for the independent variables: gender, college, gender by dean, gender by college, dean by college, and gender by dean by college. For Composite #3, Budget, results showed no significant differences for the independent variables: gender, college, gender by college, dean by college, and gender by dean by college. For the second statistical analysis for Composite #2, Administrative Leadership and Relationships, results showed no significant differences between colleges/schools and leadership, and the level of dean and leadership. The results of this study showed that (1) associate deans perceived their positions as line versus staff; (2) associate and assistant deans did not perceive their positions as stepping stones to deanships at their present institutions; (3) associate deans believed their positions were stepping stones to deanships at other institutions; and (4) assistant deans did not perceive their experience at their present institution as a stepping stone to deanships at their present or other institutions. Female associate deans had the most responsibility for Composite #1. Male associate and male assistant deans had approximately the same responsibilities for Composite #1, Curriculum. More associate deans than assistant deans had responsibilities for Composite #2, Administrative Leadership and Relationships and Composite #3, Budget.

Effective school board leadership is often an ephemeral ideal in today' s highly politicized public education arena. However, effective leadership is necessary in order to ensure a fair and equitable education for all students. This dissertation described and explained one school board member's perspective of his career as a lens from which to view and assess public educational policy making in Miami-Dade County. Now retired after thirty-eight years of service, G. Holmes Braddock is the longest serving, contemporary, urban school board member in the country. Spanning nearly four decades, his perspective provides a comprehensive view of urban education both locally and nationally. The significance of his longevity and the impact of his leadership on educational policy-making was the focus of indepth interviews with Mr. Braddock and other key educational "influentials.'' From this transcript data, recurring themes were revealed and categorized. Five elements of his perspective, i.e., teacher professionalization~ desegregation~ athletics~ bilingual education; and his comprehensive leadership role, were identified and analyzed, as were five variables of his perspective, i.e., fairness; integrity; honesty; courage; and the situational context. Other secondary source material, such as excerpts from newspaper articles, school board minutes, and items from Mr. Braddock's own personal effects further augmented and triangulated the data. Given that the purpose of this study was to describe and explain Mr. Braddock's perspective of his school board career, the findings can be understood from two different viewpoints. The elements of Mr. Braddock's perspective describe or characterize his career and represent the significant policy issues in which he demonstrated exceptional vision and leadership. However, taken alone, these elements cannot fully explain his distinguished career. Rather, an analysis of the variables of Mr. Braddock's perspective provides an explanation for the effectiveness of his leadership role. Personality traits such as fairness, integrity, honesty and courage and the impact of the situational context were factors that strongly influenced Mr. Braddock's decision-making. Thus, Mr. Braddock's school board career can be holistically understood as the intersection of person, place and time with significant public education policy issues. The results of this study provide a unique and historical perspective of school board politics in Miami-Dade County. From Mr. Braddock's perspective, we are able to view one individual's leadership role over time and its impact on local public education policy.

The purpose of the study was to identify international university administrators' perspectives on organizational strategies to support higher education internationalization. Internationalization is the conscious effort to integrate international, intercultural, and global dimensions into the ethos and outcomes of higher education (NAFSA, 2008). A descriptive survey design method was used and the instrument entitled "Strategic Internationalization Priority Scale" was developed for this research. This study is quantitative and cross-sectional. The online survey was sent to 1,043 top university administrators at 149 universities in 50 countries. These universities had active international agreements with the University of South Florida at the time of the study. Approximately 350 university presidents, vice-presidents, and deans, from 33 countries, and 65 universities, participated in the study. ANOVA, MANOVA, and Multiple Regression analyses were used to examine data in the three dimensions of internationalization: 1) Planning and operations, 2) Student Education, and 3) Teaching and Faculty Development. The statistical programs used for data analysis were SAS 9.2, SPSS 18.0 and Mplus 5. In general, the study participants perceived the three dimensions as having a medium priority level. Planning and operation strategies, and student education strategies, were rated higher than those for teaching and faculty development. Four of the 34 strategies were perceived as having a high priority level: 1) Motivating students to participate in study abroad programs, 2) Establishing institutional collaboration with foreign universities, 3) Communicating an institutional global vision, and 4) Increasing visibility of international focus on institution's web site. In contrast, the following strategies were perceived as having a low priority level: 1) Creating a branch campus abroad, and 2) Considering foreign language fluency in salary and promotion decisions. The research findings revealed that there were differences in perceptions based on the following demographic characteristics: 1) Institutional description, 2) Institution's world region, 3) Institutional status, 4) Number of international undergraduate students, 5) Administrators' position, 6) Administrators' English proficiency, and 7) Administrators' International experience. Furthermore, the participants identified the following top difficulties in achieving internationalization at their institutions: 1) Lack of economic resources, 2) Lack of faculty involvement, 3) Lack of planning and coordination, and 4) Lack of governmental support. The implications of these results are presented as they relate to the research and practice of higher education administration, educational leadership and policy development.

Den nya lagen grundade sig från EU-direktivet 2014/95/EU om tillhandahållande av icke-finansiell information. Däremot har lagen tidigare kritiserats på grund av att det finns en stor flexibilitet. Företagen kan välja att inte följa lagen om de förklarar varför. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att skapa en förståelse för hur transparensen och relevansen av information påverkas när hållbarhetsredovisning går från frivillig till obligatorisk inom företag i byggbranschen. Metod: Studien utgår från en abduktiv ansats med en kvalitativ metod. De systemorienterade teorierna och signaleringsteori tillsammans med tidigare forskning inom byggbranschen ligger som grund för att sedan utveckla en mer abduktiv analys. Studien har en fallstudiedesign där empiriska materialet består av sekundärdata från företagens hållbarhetsredovisning. Slutsats: Studiens resultat visar att den nya lagen i ÅRL (SFS 2016:947) har medfört den påverkan på informationen som var menad på de studerade företagens hållbarhetsredovisningar. Studiens syfte var att skapa förståelse för utvärdering av affärsmöjligheter utifrån ett entreprenöriellt perspektiv. Det som studerades var hur en entreprenör ser på utvärdering affärsmöjligheter. Metoden i studien var kvalitativ där det genomfördes semi-strukturerade intervjuer. Det intervjuades sex entreprenörer där alla hade erfarenhet inom utvärdering av affärsmöjligheter. Med hjälp av operationalisering togs frågor fram till intervjuerna, och efter att intervjuerna var genomförda bröts den empiriska massan ner genom den kvalitativa analysprocessens steg. Slutsatsen visade på hur entreprenörer ser på utvärderingen genom två olika matchningar. Den första matchningen är mellan entreprenören och affärsmöjligheten och den andra är mellan affärsmöjligheten och marknaden. Slutsatsen kom även fram till att entreprenören värderar tiden som en viktig resurs när det kommer till affärsmöjligheter, och det är en viktig komponent att ha i beaktande vid utvärdering av affärsmöjligheter. I slutsatsen behandlades även risken av affärsmöjligheter samt hur dess grad vid utvärdering är något som inte går att eliminera utan entreprenörerna utvärderar risken kontinuerligt för att på bästa sätt hantera den.

Cette étude porte sur les expositions photographiques produites par le gouvernement américain entre 1935 et 1942. Ces expositions avaient pour but de promouvoir les activités entreprises par l’administration Roosevelt dans le cadre de son programme de relance économique. L’étude est constituée de trois grandes parties : la première présente les enjeux politiques et sociaux du New Deal et éclaire les défis auxquels les propagandistes du gouvernement Roosevelt ont été confrontés. Elle montre alors l’intérêt et la fonction que la photographie et l’exposition ont eu dans le programme de propagande. La seconde présente le rôle joué par les expositions universelles dans le développement des techniques scénographiques employées par l’administration. La dernière porte sur les expositions artistiques du gouvernement et sur leur valeur propagandiste
This study focuses on photographic exhibitions produced by the US government between 1935 and 1942. These exhibitions aimed to publicize the Roosevelt administration’s economic stimulus program. The study is divided into three parts. The first part outlines the political and social issues of the New Deal while shedding light on the challenges faced by the propagandists in the Roosevelt administration, as well as the appeal and function of photography and exhibitions in its propaganda program. The second part considers the role played by world fairsin the development of design techniques employed by the administration. Denna rapport utgår från enkätbaserad studie gjord ur konsumentperspektiv där respondenterna utgörs av konsumenter som är medlemmar i minst en kundklubb. Enkäten har med marknadsdrivet synsätt visat vad konsumenterna subjektivt anser fungerar samt ej fungerar avseende reklamutskick från vederbörandes kundklubb. Syftet med studien var att hitta punkter redo förförändring avseende dagens relationsmarknadsföring från företag till konsument (B2C), med målet att bidra till utveckling inom området. Resultatet enligt enkät visade önskan om ökad personifiering och viss upplevelse om irrelevans i utskick. Resultatet betyder i teorin att dagens marknadsföringsmetoder för konsumenten innebär viss upplevelse om klutter, som kan bidra till latent och därmed falsk lojalitet till kundklubben. I praktiken innebär resultatet att metodiken inom relationsmarknadsföring kan behöva utvecklas genom ökad användning av marknadsdrivet synsätt där konsumenten involveras som subjekt.
This essay is based on a questionnaire aimed at consumers that has at least one active membership in a loyalty club. The questionnaire has with a market-driven point of view shown what the consumers think about the functionality in the area of relationship marketing within their loyalty club. The purpose of the study was to find areas for improvement within relationship marketing, business to consumer (B2C), with the goal of improvement in the area. The result of the questionnaire showed a general desire of increased personation in the mailings managed by the loyalty clubs. Theoretically the result of the questionnaire means that today’s marketing methods from the consumers perspective means certain experience of clutter, that could potentially lead to latent and thereby false loyalty to the loyalty club. In practice the result means that the methodology within relationship marketing needs development by increased use of a marketdriven point of view, with the consumer seen as a subject.

Problembakgrund: Trots att den industriella revolutionen, inte minst den digitala revolutionen har gynnat uppkomsten av flexibla arbetsformer, har det även framkommit att denna revolution satt sina spår på arbetstagarens välmående. Ny teknik gör det möjligt för arbetstagarna att vara tillgängliga när och var som helst, vilket leder till att man som arbetstagare har möjlighet till att vara flexibel. Samtliga arbeten i den svenska arbetsmarknaden återfinns inom den offentliga- och/eller den privata sektorn. Dock råder det skillnader mellan sektorerna, bland annat arbetstagarnas arbetsvillkor och hur organisationerna styrs. Tidigare forskning antyder att detta kan vara en anledning till varför arbetstagarnas flexibla arbetsförhållanden och välmående skiljer sig åt, men någonting som ej har studerats mer utförligt. Problemformulering: Hur påverkar flexibilitet arbetstagarnas välmående, både psykiskt, fysiskt och socialt, inom den offentliga- respektive den privata sektorn? Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att utveckla kunskapen gällande arbetstagarnas välmående inom flexibilitetens ramar. I denna studie har vi valt att undersöka flexibilitet utifrån de fyra dimensionerna: tid, rum, samarbete och utförande. Vi hoppas kunna bidra med användbar information kring hur man kan tillämpa och hantera flexibla arbetsformer så det gynnar individens psykiska, fysiska och sociala välmående på arbetsplatser där man har möjlighet att arbeta flexibelt. Slutligen önskar vi att kunna öka kunskapen kring arbetstagarnas välmående inom respektive sektor och ge praktiska rekommendationer kring vad sektorerna kan lära sig av varandra, för att utveckla hållbara arbetsförhållanden.  Teoretisk referensram: Vår teoretiska referensram utgörs av teorier gällande ett arbete utan gränser, flexibilitetens dimensioner, välmående, balans mellan privatliv och arbetsliv samt teorier om när balansen inte uppnås. Slutligen redogör vi för krav-kontroll-stödmodellen. Metod: Studien bygger på både en deduktiv och induktiv ansats där vi genom en kvalitativ undersökning har genomfört djupgående semistrukturerade intervjuer med respondenter inom den privata- samt den offentliga sektorn. Totalt intervjuades 8 respondenter, varav sju arbetsplatser totalt. Vidare grundar sig vår analysmetod på den teoretiska referensramen, där vårt mål har varit att hitta gemensamma nämnare men även unika ting för att utveckla nuvarande teori.  Slutsats: Utifrån de fyra dimensionerna har vi kommit fram till att den offentliga sektorn har större möjlighet att påverka dimensionen samarbete, medan den privata sektorn har större möjlighet till att påverka dimensionerna tid och rum. Vidare har vi valt att revidera teorin angående de fyra dimensionerna till att utesluta genomförande och istället inkludera en ny dimension; tillgänglighet. Utifrån dessa dimensioner har vi analyserat arbetstagares välmående på det fysiska, psykiska och sociala planet. Vi kan konstatera att beroende på dimension, påverkades välmåendet olika.

To better understand the forces propelling the excess which characterizes much of Western society and culture, management scholars increasingly appear to be addressing notions such as play and playfulness. Through a number of narratives, homing in on a do-it-yourself movement within the heavy trucks industry in which users are displaying a keen interest in aesthetic aspects of their work tools, this book attempts to further and complement such discussions. It does so by exploring the creative processes which seem to constitute a certain playfulness, a certain playful practice set on excessive decoration of heavy duty vehicles — a practice which, moreover, appears to be spreading aesthetic values more generally within this industry. From a psychoanalytical perspective, and emphasizing and examining the relationship between fantasy and desire, it argues that in order to understand the driving mechanisms at work in such processes, one has, however, to look beyond the idea of the playful as being something thoroughly harmonic or pleasurable. Drawing mainly on Slavoj Zizek’s readings of the French philosopher and psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, it argues that we must instead look beyond the pleasure principle in order to understand why something always emerges, where nothing really seemed to be needed.

The purpose of this dissertation is to increase our understanding of how employees make sense of a merger announcement. This dissertation addresses a gap in the literature by examining the relationship between deal characteristics and employee reactions. A theoretical model incorporating the cultural, psychological and social perspectives is developed and tested. This experimental study also examines how attitudes about the merger change following peer interaction. Quantitative and qualitative methods are combined to investigate the relationship between deal characteristics and employee reactions observed in mergers. Findings indicate that deal characteristics not only significantly affect initial employee reactions, but also affect how employee attitudes evolve over time as they discuss the event with peers. The study establishes an overall detrimental effect of social interaction on employee attitudes, described as collective rumination. Finally, the study sheds new light on power in mergers by establishing the relevance of one’s position in the deal structure with respect to sensemaking and attitudes following the discussion of the event with colleagues.
Ce projet de thèse concerne l'aspect humain des fusions et acquisitions. Je propose et teste un modèle intégrant les perspectives culturelles, sociales et psychologiques. Cette réplication expérimentale d’une annonce de fusion comble une lacune dans la littérature, à savoir le manque de recherche liant les niveaux micro et macro dans ce domaine. J’examine notamment comment les caractéristiques de la fusion affectent les réactions des employés. Les résultats de mon étude multiméthode basée sur un modèle longitudinal ont non seulement permis d’établir l'existence d'un effet des variables contextuelles sur les attitudes des employés, mais également de démontrer à quel point l’interaction avec un groupe de collègues peut être néfaste. En effet, une analyse complémentaire des données qualitatives permet de constater la présence d’un phénomène de “rumination collective” suite à l’annonce de la fusion.

Syftet med denna uppsats har handlat om att göra en kartläggning av hur den administrativa arbetsprocessen vid ett stambyte tillsammans med renovering av lägenheter i ett hyreshus fungerar från planering till det att åtgärderna utförs. Målet var att beskriva arbetsprocessen och identifiera eventuella flaskhalsar. Men även komma med förslag till effektivisering av arbetsprocessen och hur man kan arbeta för att undvika dessa flaskhalsar samt att ta reda på vad hyresgäster har för preferenser kring renovering vid ett stambyte. För att kunna kartlägga detta valdes det ingående att det skulle vara de juridiska, ekonomiska och praktiskt kommunikativa aspekterna vid ett stambyte med lägenhetsrenovering som skulle belysas. Informationen för dessa aspekter togs fram genom följande typer av källor. Gällande lagstiftning, förarbeten, praxis och doktrin för juridiken. Investeringskalkyler över olika typer av stamrenoveringar och lägenhetsrenoveringar för ekonomin. Genom intervjuer av nyckelpersoner för praktiken. För att detta arbete skulle underlättas så har det avgränsats till att endast titta på hur fastighetsföretaget Stena Fastigheter Stockholm AB har arbetat under de stambyten som de genomfört inom sina södra delar av deras fastighetsbestånd. Det arbetet kom fram till vid kartläggningen av arbetsprocessen var att processen är långt mer avancerad och har fler delar till sig jämfört med vad skribenterna trott ingående i arbetet. De flaskhalsar som upptäcktes var först och främst de långa handläggningstiderna till hyresnämnden dit fastighetsbolag vänder sig då hyresgäster inte lämnar tillstånd till förbättringsåtgärder. Men även att det finns en brist på kommunikation mellan hyresvärd och hyresgäst samt en viss kunskapsbrist hos hyresgästen om hur processen i hyresnämnden ser ut och vilka åtgärder som en hyresvärd har rätt att utföra. Hyresgästerna saknar även kunskap om hur deras chanser ser ut i prövningar hos hyresnämnden. Ett förslag till en lösning av dessa flaskhalsar som arbetet kom fram till skulle vara att göra en ändring i dagens lagstiftning, vilket förmodligen skulle vara svårt att genomföra. En annan lösning som framkom av arbetet skulle vara att utöka kommunikationen mellan hyresvärd och hyresgäst genom någon form av lättillgänglig media som kan informera hyresgästen om hur den juridiska processen ser ut vid stambyte med renovering i ett hyreshus, samt att informera om vilka åtgärder hyresnämnden ger tillstånd till hyresvärden att utföra.
The purpose of this paper has been to make a survey of how the administrative work process in the case of a pipe replacement with renovation of apartments in a tenement house goes from planning to the execution of the measures. The goal was to describe the work process and identify any obstacles. But also come up with suggestions for streamlining the work process and how to work to avoid these obstacles and to find out what tenants have for preferences regarding renovation in the event of a pipe replacement. To be able to map the administrative work process of a pipe replacement with apartment renovation the writers chose to focus on the legal, economical and a communicative practical aspect of the process. The information for these aspects was to be obtained through the following types of sources. Applicable legislation, preliminary work, practice and doctrine for the legal aspect. Investment calculations on different types of pipe renovations/replacements and apartment renovations for the economical aspect. Through interviews of key people for the practical aspect. For this work to be facilitated it has been limited to looking only at how the real estate company Stena Fastigheter Stockholm AB has worked during the pipe replacements that they have carried out in their southern parts of their property portfolio. The work that came to the fore in the mapping of the work process was that the process is far more advanced and has more parts to it compared to what the writers thought in the early stage of writing the thesis. The obstacles that were discovered are the lengthy processing time to the tenant board to which Stena Fastigheter Stockholm AB turns when tenants do not give permission for improvement measures. But also, that there is a lack of communication between the landlord and tenant as well as a certain lack of knowledge with the tenant about how the tenant's process looks and what measures a landlord is entitled to take. The tenants also lack knowledge of what their chances look like in the hearings of the tenant board. The proposed solutions to these obstacles that the work came up with would be to make a change in current legislation, which would probably be difficult to implement. Another solution that emerged from the work would be to increase the communication between the landlord and the tenant through some form of easily accessible media that can inform the tenant of what the legal process looks like in the event of a change of house renovation in a tenement house, and to inform about what measures the tenant gives permission to the landlord to perform.

Das Hochland Nordthailands isi ein Beispiel für eine widersprüchliche Situation die entsteht, wenn ein zentralistisches Regierungssystem seine Kontrolle auf entlegene Gebiete ausdehnt und auf traditionellen Wanderfeldbau auftrifft. Auf Regierungsseite zeichnet sich die Politik durch unterschiedliche Interessen der Walderhaltung einerseits und Integration von ethnischen Minderheiten andererseits aus. Die Bergstämme ihrerseits erstreben Landsicherheit um ihre Subsistenzwirtschaft zu sichern. Somit geht es um Mediation und Konfliktresolution zur Überwindung der Dichotomie zwischen Waldschutz und landwirtschaftlicher Subsistenz. Trotz des fehlenden politischen Rahmens, hat es eine Verschiebung zu mehr partizipativen Ansätzen bei der Entwicklung des Hochlands gegeben, zum Beispiel Community Based Land Use Planning and Local Watershed Management (CLM) des Thai-German Highland Development Programe (TG-HDP) in der Provinz Mae Hong Son. Dieses Forschungsprojekt hat den CLM-Ansatz mit GIS kombiniert um jenseits der Demarkierung von Landtypen die Dorfebene mit höheren Planungsebenen zu verbinden, wie die sich etablierenden Tambon (Sub-Distrikt) Administrative Organisations. Vor dem Hintergrund der grundsätzlichen oben angeführten Probleme und auf den CLM-Ansatz aufbauend, wurden Landnutzungskarten digitalisiert um die Widersprüche zwischen zentralistischer Landklassifizierung und lokalen Dorfgrenzen zu überwinden. Durch den Vergleich von topographischen Modellen und Karten mit Dorfbewohnern und Regierungsorganisationen, könnte eine Kommunikationsplattform für die Formulierung von Landnutzungsplänen etabliert werden. Stolpersteine zur partizipativen Planung werden dargestellt und Empfehlungen für eine koordinierte Politik der Hochlandentwicklung ausgesprochen. Bei der laufenden Dezentralisierung werden die neu entstehenden Tambon (Sub-Distrikt) Administrative Organisations (TAO) sich als Schlüsselverbindung zwischen dem Staat und der Gesellschaft entwickeln. Eine Möglichkeit mit den unterschiedlichen Prioritäten der Teilhaber auf Tambonebene umzugehen könnte sich aus der laufenden Umstrukturierung des Landwirtschaftsministeriums (MOAC) ergeben, als Teil der administrativen Reform. Ein Teil dieser Reform auf Grasebene war die Einführung von Technology Transfer Centres (TTC) seit 1998, mit mittlerweile 82 vom Department of Agricultural Extension (DOAE) etablierten Zentren landesweit. In diesem Kontext wird der Tambon ein Test für partizipative Landnutzungsplanung sein, sowohl aus der technischen Perspektive mit neuen Technology Transfer Centres, als auch aus der administrativen mit existierenden Tambon Administrative Organisations. Pläne der Vernetzung von TTCs mit TAOs müssen die Bedeutung der Repräsentanz von Schlüsselinstitutionen der Forstwirtschaft und Landentwicklung für Aspekte der Landnutzung berücksichtigen, sowie lokale Verwaltung und Sozialfürsorge für die Registrierung von Dörfern mit klaren und allseits akzeptierten Grenzen. Ein Ansatz von unten müßte sich auf die drei während der Forschung genannten Hauptprobleme konzentrieren, nämlich Reisinsuffizienz, Waldbrachemanagement und Dorfgrenzen. So lange der Zustand der Landunsicherheit weiterhin vorherrscht, werden Bergstämme Strategien zur Beibehaltung von ausreichendem Ackerland anwenden, wie die Deklaration von bis zu doppelt so vielen Hochlandfeldern und die Zwischenpflanzung mit Heckenreihen auf Bracheflächen um zu zeigen, daß dieses Land genutzt wird. Zur Zeit gibt es keinen einheitlichen Planungsansatz, jedoch hat die öffentliche Debatte in Nordthailand ein Stadium erreicht, inklusive der Bergstämmenminderheit, daß der Prozeß der Institutionalisierung weitergehen wird während das Land den Pfad der Demokratie beschreitet. Die Lösung von Problemen und nachhaltiger Landnutzungsplanung wird somit zu einem Testfall für die Umsetzung von guter Regierung auf lokaler Ebene.
The highlands of northern Thailand are an example of a contradictory situation arising when a centralised government system extends its control to remote areas and clashes with traditional shifting cultivation practices. On the government side, policy is characterised by conflicting interests between forest preservation on the one hand, and the integration of ethnic minorities on the other. Hilltribes, on the other hand, are looking for land security to meet their subsistence needs. It is a precondition for them to modify their traditional farming systems or to explore other alternatives to secure a livelihood. The issue has become one of mediation and conflict resolution in order to overcome the dichotomy between forest protection and agricultural subsistence. In spite of a lack of policy framework, highland development has shifted towards more participatory approaches, for example Community Based Land Use Planning and Local Watershed Management (CLM) of the Thai-German Highland Development Programme (TG-HDP) in Mae Hong Son province. This research project combined the CLM approach with GIS in order to go beyond the demarcation of land types and to connect the village level to higher planning bodies like the emerging Tambon (sub-district) Administration Organisations. In light of the fundamental problem of highland development described above, and building on the CLM approach, land use maps were digitised to help overcome contradictions between central land use classifications and local village boundaries. By crosschecking topographic models and maps with villagers and government agencies, a communication platform could be created for the formulation of land use plans. Stumbling blocks to participatory planning are illustrated and recommendations for a co-ordinated policy for highland development are made. In the current move towards decentralisation, the newly forming Tambon (or sub-district) Administrative Organisations (TAO) will evolve as the key link between the state and society. One potential to deal with differing stakeholder priorities at Tambon level could evolve from the current restructuring of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) as part of the administrative reform. A part of this reform at grass-roots level has been the introduction of Technology Transfer Centres (TTC) initiated in 1998, with 82 of them established nationwide by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DOAE). In this context the Tambon will be a test for participatory land use planning, both in terms of a technical perspective with new Technology Transfer Centres, as well as an administrative one with existing Tambon Administrative Organisations. The plans to link TTCs with TAOs need to consider the importance of representation of key agencies like forestry and land development for aspects of land management, as well as local administration and social welfare for the registration of villages with clear and mutually agreed boundaries. A bottom-up approach would need to focus on the three main problem areas identified during the research, namely rice sufficiency, forest fallow management, and village boundaries. As long as this state of land insecurity persists, hill tribes will resort to strategies to keep enough land for agricultural production, like the declaration of up to twice the number of upland fields under cultivation, and the interplanting of hedgerows in fallow areas to indicate that the land is used. For the time being a unified planning approach does not exist, but a stage of public debate has been reached in northern Thailand, including those of minority hill tribes, that the process of institutionalisation will continue as the country follows a path to democracy. The resolution of problems and sustainable land use planning will turn into a testing ground for the application of good governance at the local level.

Omvärldsförändringar har inneburit att regeringen gett Försvarsmakten en ny inriktning med ett ökat fokus på förmågan att försvara Sverige. Syftet med denna studie är att skapa förståelse för förutsättningarna för chefskapet på plutonsnivån i det nationella försvaret och utveckla kunskap om vilka förutsättningar plutoncheferna har att möta de krav som det nya nationella försvaret ställer. Studien är genomförd med en induktiv kvalitativ fallstudiedesign med en hermeneutisk ansats. Det empiriska materialet baseras på data från 12 intervjuer med plutonchefer och data från undersökning av centrala Försvarsmaktsdokument. Resultatet visar att plutonchefensrollen karaktäriseras av en balansgång mellan rollen som chef och rollen som administratör, där administrationen väger över på bekostnad av krigföringsförmåga och ledarskap. Chefernas uppfattning om det nationella försvarets krav överensstämmer väl med de övergripande styrdokumenten men en tydlig sammanställning av kraven saknas vilket leder till osäkerhet. Plutonchefernas förutsättningar för att uppfylla det nya försvarets krav påverkas av deras möjlighet att balansera mellan uppgifter och tillgängliga resurser, vilket beror på avsaknad av administrativt stöd och brist på ledning. Studien har identifierat ett motsatsförhållande mellan två samtidigt pågående organisationsförändringar. Fenomenet som vi har valt att kalla paradoxförändring, innehåller en rollinriktad förändring mot chefen som administratör och en attitydinriktad förändring mot krigsförbandschef i det nya nationella försvaret.
The changes in the strategical environment have resulted in the government giving the Swedish defense forces a new national alignment, towards the capability of national defense. The purpose of this study is to build understanding of the conditions for platoon level leadership in the new national defense and to develop knowledge of the conditions the platoon commanders have been given to meet the demands by the new national defense. The research has been carried out by an inductive quantitative case study design with a hermeneutic approach. The empirical data is based on twelve interviews with platoon leaders and a study of official defense force documents. The research shows that the role of the platoon leader is characterized by balancing the role as commander and the role of administrator, were the administration weighs over on the expense of the capability of warfare and leadership. The platoon commander’s perception of the demands of the national defense complies with official defense force documents, but the absence of a clear compilation of the demands leads to some uncertainty. The platoon commander’s conditions to fulfill the demands of the new national defense is determined by their ability to balance tasks and available resources. This in turn is due to absence of administrative support and command. The research has identified a contradiction between two simultaneously ongoing organizational changes. The phenomenon that we have chosen to call the paradox change, contains one role-orientated change towards the commander as an administrator and one character-oriented change towards combat commander in the new national defense.

Konsumenternas förändrade shoppingbeteende som innebär att allt fler väljer att handla på nätet, har lett till stora utmaningar för aktörer på den fysiska marknaden. Konsekvensen av e-handelns framväxt har resulterat i att allt fler fysiska butiker upplever minskad lönsamhet i och med att kunden övergett den traditionella handeln. Dagens teknik har bidragit med globalisering av marknaden, vilket gjort det möjligt för företag inom näthandeln att nå ut till allt fler konsumenter. Syftet med studien har varit att få en djupare kunskap och förståelse i hur fysiska butiker med e-handel arbetar tillsammans och enskilt med den digitala marknaden. Hur den har påverkat den fysiska butiken i form av minskade försäljningsandelar. Vidare har vi tittat på vad butiken själva anser vara det viktigaste konkurrensmedlet mot e-handeln för att sedan jämföra dessa med teorier i ämnet. Studien är framtagen genom kvalitativ datainsamling där vi intervjuat tre stycken butikschefer inom modebranschen, verksamma både på den fysiska och digitala marknaden. Resultatet av empirin har sammanställts genom jämförelse av teorier i ämnet, med utgångspunkt i konkurrensmedel, kundmötet och kundupplevelse. Slutsatsen som vi dragit genom vår studie är att den fysiska butikens största konkurrensmedel mot e-handeln är den mänskliga resursen samt kundupplevelsen. Detaljhandeln står för en enorm teknisk utveckling, varför det är viktigt för fysiska butiker att hänga med i utvecklingen och ta till sig e-handeln för att kunna överleva på dagens marknad. Eftersom dagens konsumenter idag efterfrågar fler shoppingkanaler, är det intressant hur butikerna inom modebranschen arbetar för att vara konkurrenskraftiga mot den växande e-handeln.
The consumer's changing shopping behavior clearly show that more and more people choose to shop online. This is leading to major challenges for retail establishments. The impact of e-commerce growth has resulted in decreased profitability as the customer abandoned traditional shops. Today's technology has contributed to the globalization of the market, enabling companies to reach an increasing number of consumers through online retailing. Companies acting on the digital and physical markets can offer their product through more channels bringing greater profitability. The purpose of the study has been to gain deeper knowledge and understanding how physical stores and e-commerce interrelate each other or work individually focusing especially in how this affects the retail store in terms of reduced sales shares. Furthermore, we have looked at what the store itself considers to be the most important competition against e-commerce and then comparing these with theories on the subject. The study was developed through qualitative data collection where we interviewed three store managers in the fashion industry, active in both the traditional and digital market. The result of the research has been compiled by comparing theories on the subject, based on the means of competition, the customer meeting and the customer experience. The results are that retails biggest competitive means for e-commerce are the human resources and the customer experience. Retail trade accounts for enormous technical development, it is then crucial for retail stores to keep up with the development and adopt e-commerce to survive on today's market. Since the consumers demand more shopping channels, it is interesting how fashion industry stores work to be competitive with the growing e-commerce.

Under år 2020 bröt en pandemi ut som lett till många negativa konsekvenser för idrottsbranschen samtidigt som den gett idrottsföreningar en unik möjlighet att identifiera nya strategier för att överleva. När idrottens fysiska arena inte längre är tillgänglig behövs nya metoder för föreningarna att behålla sin relevans gentemot publiken. Syftet med denna studie är med hjälp av en kvalitativ datainsamlingsmetod, i form av ostrukturerade intervjuer, att kartlägga svenska elitidrottsföreningars marknadsföringsstrategier för att överleva och bibehålla engagemang hos supportrar under pandemin. Empirin samlades in utifrån fyra teorier som även är grunden i studiens teoretiska referensram, vilka är: Idrottsentreprenörskap, Krishantering, Parasociala relationer samt Kommunikationsstrategi. För att svara på forskningsfrågan: Vilka marknadsföringsstrategier använder svenska elitidrottsföreningar för att överleva och bibehålla engagemang hos supportrar under pandemin? har sju stycken elitidrottsföreningar intervjuats. Analysen av empirin visar att föreningarnas strategier är i enlighet med tidigare forskning. Avslutningsvis kom studien fram till att strategierna innehåller kreativitet, innovation, proaktivitet och digital interaktion.
In the year of 2020, a pandemic broke out which led to many negative consequences for the sports industry but at the same time as it gave sports clubs a unique opportunity to identify new strategies for survival. When the physical sports arena is not available, new methods are needed to maintain its relevance to the audience.The aim of this study is, with the help of a qualitative data collection method in the form of unstructured interviews, to map Swedish elite sports clubs marketing strategies for surviving and maintaining the commitment of supporters during the pandemic. The empirics were collected based on four theories that are also the basis of the study's theoretical frame of reference, which are: Sports Entrepreneurship, Crisis Management, Parasocial Relations and Communication Strategy. In order to answer the research question: What marketing strategies do Swedish elite sports clubs use to survive and maintain the commitment of supporters during the pandemic? seven elite sports clubs have been interviewed. The analysis of the empirical evidence shows that the associations strategies are in line with previous research. In conclusion, the study concluded that the strategies include creativity, innovation, proactivityand digital interaction.
