Resumen
This paper investigates the adaptive feedback passification and disturbance attenuation problems for a class of switched nonlinearly parameterized systems. First, a state-dependent switching law and a set of adaptive feedback controllers with new control inputs are designed to render the resulting closed-loop system passive for a class of switched nonlinearly parameterized systems without external disturbance. Then, the new control inputs are designed to solve the disturbance attenuation problem. Second, a set of adaptive feedback controllers and a composite state-dependent switching law are designed to solve the adaptive feedback passivity-based disturbance attenuation problem for a class of cascaded switched nonlinearly parameterized systems. A numerical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, an adaptive load torque observer based on backstepping control is designed, which achieves accurate load estimation where the load is unknown. Based on this, in order to reduce the loss of the motor at low load, a smooth switching strategy of rotor flux based on speed error is designed. According to the real-time speed error of the induction motor, the smooth switching strategy achieves dynamic flux switching. Firstly, when the uncertain load occurs for the first time in the recursive design, the adaptive law of the load is designed, and a novel adaptive load torque observer is obtained, which accurately estimates the uncertain load torque in real time. Secondly, the relationship between the loss and the rotor flux is established by analyzing the loss model of induction motor, and the optimal rotor flux is obtained. The smooth switching control strategy based on speed error is designed to realize the efficiency optimization of induction motor. Finally, the control strategy proposed in this paper is experimentally verified on the LINKS-RT platform. The results show that the proposed control strategy has excellent load disturbance attenuation performance and reduces the energy loss.

Resumen
This paper presents a new control strategy that combines classical control and an optimization scheme to regulate the output voltage of the bidirectional converter under the presence of matched and mismatched disturbances. In detail, a control-oriented modeling method is presented first to capture the system dynamics in a common canonical form, allowing different disturbances to be considered. To estimate and compensate for unknown disturbances, an extended state observer (ESO)-based continuous sliding mode control is then proposed, which can guarantee high tracking precision, fast disturbance rejection, and chattering reduction. Next, an extremum seeking (ES)-based adaptive scheme is introduced to ensure system robustness as well as optimal control effort under different working scenarios. Finally, comparative simulations with classical proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control and constant switching gains are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive control methodology through three case studies of load resistance variations, buck/boost mode switching, and input voltage variation.

The objective of this paper is to amplify the output voltage magnitude from a piezoelectric vibration energy harvester under nonstationary and broadband vibration conditions. Improving the transferred energy, which is converted from mechanical energy to electrical energy through a piezoelectric transducer, achieved a high output voltage and effective harvesting. A threshold-based switching strategy is used to improve the total transferred energy with consideration of the signs and amplitudes of the electromechanical conditions of the harvester. A time-invariant threshold cannot accomplish effective harvesting under nonstationary vibration conditions because the assessment criterion for desirable control changes in accordance with the disturbance scale. To solve this problem, we developed a switching strategy for the active harvester, namely, adaptive switching considering vibration suppression-threshold strategy. The strategy adopts a tuning algorithm for the time-varying threshold and implements appropriate intermittent switching without pre-tuning by means of the fuzzy control theory. We evaluated the proposed strategy under three realistic vibration conditions: a frequency sweep, a change in the number of dominant frequencies, and wideband frequency vibration. Experimental comparisons were conducted with existing strategies, which consider only the signs of the harvester electromechanical conditions. The results confirm that the presented strategy achieves a greater output voltage than the existing strategies under all nonstationary vibration conditions. The average amplification rate of output voltage for the proposed strategy is 203% compared with the output voltage by noncontrolled harvesting.

Resumen
In most applications of autonomous navigation, the state of a system must be estimated from noisy sensors. Accurate estimation of the true system state can be achieved using data fusion algorithms. Furthermore, the fusion scheme can be affected by many factors such as modeling errors and parameters uncertainties. The gaps and inconsistencies due to the sensors noise and modeling errors can be reached with robust nonlinear filtering. In this article, a new framework has been developed for data fusion algorithms based on nonlinear NH∞ filter with fuzzy adaptive bound and adaptive disturbances attenuations. Type-1 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞ algorithm has been proposed and compared with the Interval Type 2 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞, for unmanned vehicle localization. The proposed algorithms fuse data from low-cost sensors using inertial navigation system, Global Positioning System and monocular vision. Type-1 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞ and Interval Type 2 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞ algorithms, adaptively, handle the effects of noisy sensors, parameters uncertainties and modeling errors. Both algorithms use adaptive bounds [Formula: see text] and adaptive disturbance attenuation [Formula: see text] for higher-order terms of the Taylor development. The adaptive bounds consider issues associated to Gyro drift, image distortion and Global Positioning System dilution of precision which make the proposed algorithms more accurate than the classical NH∞. The validating experiment and the efficiency of Type-1 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞ and Interval Type 2 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞ have been conducted in real scenario and in unstructured outdoor environment without any a priori knowledge of the evolution of the vehicle. The experimental results have demonstrated the robustness and efficiency of these two filtering strategies against uncertainties and their online sensor switching capability. The Interval Type 2 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞ algorithm provides more accuracy and robustness compared to the Type-1 Fuzzy Adaptive NH∞.

Resumen
In this work, the problem of active attenuation of disturbances with uncertain and possibly time-varying characteristics is addressed. The focus is on situations in which the uncertainty set is large, that is, the possible operating conditions of the system subject to disturbances can be different so that a single robust controller cannot ensure satisfactory performance levels. These situations underline the importance of control solutions able to reconfigure their action in real-time. The first part of this work is focused on the description of two different case studies, namely an active suspension system and an adaptive optics system, as well as on an overview of relevant contributions within the literature related to this subject. The solution that we propose is described in the second part; this method relies on the Adaptive Switching Control (ASC) paradigm, which has emerged as an alternative to classical Adaptive Control. In ASC, a finite family of candidate controllers is pre-synthesized off-line, and a supervisory logic has to select the potentially best one to be put in feedback with the plant. Particular attention is devoted to both performance and stability of the overall switching system. Finally, as an extension of the solution based on ASC, in the third part of this work an algorithm is proposed which combines both switching and tuning, aiming at preserving the beneficial features of the two different approaches, while possibly overcoming their drawbacks. The effectiveness of the proposed solutions is validated by means of simulation tests performed in the context of the two considered case studies.
