Resumen

Uterine sympathetic nerves can exert an excitatory influence in late pregnancy and during parturition. Neuronal norepinephrine release is increased at these times and a diminished alpha 2-adrenoceptor-mediated prejunctional inhibition could account for this. To assess whether an altered receptor population may contribute, [3H]rauwolscine was used to measure alpha 2-adrenoceptors in myometrial membranes at time intervals throughout pregnancy. High affinity [3H]rauwolscine binding [Kd = 11.4 +/- 1.5 nM (n = 42)] yielded linear Scatchard plots that in nonpregnant myometrium indicated a maximum binding density (Bmax) of 217 +/- 42.4 fmol/mg protein. alpha 2-Adrenoceptor density was increased twofold at midpregnancy (31 days) and thereafter fell sharply by up to 90% toward term (67 +/- 2 days). When uterine growth is accounted for and data are expressed in terms of total myometrial population (uncorrected for plasma membrane recovery), alpha 2-adrenoceptor number was eightfold (midpregnancy) and fourfold (term) greater than the nonpregnant value of 804 +/- 322.4 fmol/uterus. alpha 2-Adrenoceptors were also found to bind dopamine with high affinity [Ki = 3.66 +/- 0.45 microM (n = 3)]. These observations could indicate a pregnancy-related change in uterine sympathetic autoinhibitory capacity and, since alpha 2-adrenoceptors appear also to be located postjunctionally, explain in part reports of altered myometrial responsiveness to norepinephrine infusion and also the uterotonic actions of dopamine.

Resumen

The researched area is located in Rembang Zone, North East Java Basin. The Rembang Zone is one of the largest basins in Indonesia. In this area, there are many oil wells that today are still actively producing. The research concerning the content of microfossils in marine sedimentary outcrops is needed to determine the rate of sedimentation in a basin. The method is basically based on the result of stratigraphic measurements of two sections with a distance of 2,743.7 m. Sedimentation rate is the average thickness ratio to the average time interval. The sections have a good outcrop and a continuous stratigraphic sequence from Miocene (Wonocolo, Ledok, and Mundu Formations) to Pleistocene (Lidah Formation). Samples taken in the section consisted of fourty-one samples of marls and shales. The results of the analysis show eighteen genera with fifty-seven species of nannoplankton. While the resulting biostratigraphic zone can be arranged into eleven zones consisted of two partial, one range and eight interval zones. The development of sedimentation rate (RoS) of studied area consists of ten periods, those are (1) CNM15 Zone/ Late Miocene of Ledok Formation at a depth of 427.8 - 322.4 m, and has a sedimentation rate (RoS) of 11.46 cm/ ky, (2) CNM16-CNM20 Zone/Late Miocene to Early Pliocene, Ledok Formation at a depth of 322.4 - 279.3 m and has a RoS of 1.54 cm/ky, (3) Mundu Formation is CNPL2 Zone/Early Pliocene at a depth of 279.3 - 223 m and has a RoS of 5.41 cm/ky, (4) CNPL3 (Early Pliocene) Zone at a depth of 223 - 148.4 m and has a RoS of 33.91 cm/ky, (5) CNPL4 Zone (Middle Pliocene) at a depth of 148.4 - 82.7 m and has a RoS of 5.09 cm/ky. (6) Zone of CNPL5 (Middle-Late Pliocene) at a depth of 82.70 - 53.1 m and has a RoS of 21.14 cm/ky, (7) CNPL6 Zone/Late Pliocene at a depth of 53.1 - 52.0 m and has a RoS of 0.24 cm/ky, 8). CNPL7 Zone/Late Pliocene to Early Pleistocene at a depth of 52.0 - 33.8 m and has a RoS 8.27 cm/ky, (9). The relatively faster sedimentation rate of the CNPL3 is due to the faster subsidence and maximum sediment supply. Resumen

We surveyed algal cover, algal biomass, and physical and chemical factors at 14 sites representing a range of land use types in the Malibu Creek watershed in southern California, USA. We also conducted nutrient diffuser substrate experiments to identify the nutrient limiting algal growth. Algal biomass increased with urbanization, reaching very high levels in the most urbanized streams (up to 322.4 mg chlorophyll a·m-2). Total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and benthic and total chlorophyll concentrations were positively correlated with the proportion of upstream land covered by impervious surfaces. Relationships between land use and algal biomass or nutrient concentrations were evaluated at 100 m, 500 m, and whole subwatershed scales. The closest relationships were found at the 500 m scale, where 56% of the variation in total chlorophyll could be explained by the proportion of land within a 500 m radius upstream covered by impervious surfaces. Floating macroalgae were observed in the summer in pools with high nutrient and light levels, whereas benthic algal biomass was positively related to total phosphorus concentrations and current speed. Other methods of determining nutrient limitation (nutrient diffuser substrate experiment, molar N/P ratios in stream water) produced conflicting results, possibly because algal growth was saturated by high nutrient levels at some of the study sites.

Resumen

Abstract The study was carried out with the aim of evaluating the genetic performance and estimating some genetic parameters in the characteristics of the yield and its components for the four different structures originating from Broad bean (local, Turkish, Spanish and Dutch) under the influence of different levels of soil salinity (2, 6 and 9 ds\m) in the field of the Field Crops Department of the Faculty of Agriculture - Al-Qasim Green University During the growing season of 2022/2023, the experiment was carried out according to the design of the complete random sectors as a factor experiment and with three replicates. The results of the analysis of variance showed significant differences between the four structures of all the traits studied. The Turkish variety significantly outperformed the rest of the other varieties in all the characteristics studied Number of pods (10.12 pods / plant), the number of seeds per pod (4.06 seeds / pod) and the weight of 100 seeds (121.22 g) and the yield of seeds (1.59 tons / ha) and the biological yield (3.19 tons / ha) and protein yield 322.4 kg / ha). pod) weighing 100 seeds (135.02 g), seed yield (2.42 tons/ha), biological yield (4.42 tons/ha) and protein yield 0.507 ton/ha), The results showed that the phenotypic and genetic variations were high for all traits at the level (2 ds/m) but decreased at the salt level (9 ds/m). The percentage of inheritance in the broad sense was very high for all traits and all salt levels, which indicates that the phenotypic variation between the varieties was mostly genetic.

Resumen

Objective. Kisspeptin 1 might reflect increased androgen level in polycystic ovarian syndrome instead of other markers. Study Design. A case control study was performed in Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital from 1st of July 2016 to 1st of July 2017; it involved 87 women divided into two groups: 44 women diagnosed as PCOS, 22 women with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2 and 22 women with BMI < 25 kg/m2, and another 43 women without PCOS, 22 women with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2 and 21 women with BMI < 25 kg/m2. Hormonal, metabolic profiles, and hirsutism scores, as well as serum kisspeptin level, were assessed by using Human Kisspeptin 1(KISS-1) ELISA Kit. The blood samples between days 2 and 5 of menstrual cycle were drawn by an disposable sterile syringe and collected in EDTA containing tubes (as anticoagulant), and the hormonal profile was measured using a biotech ELISA reader. Result. Serum level of kisspeptin was significantly higher in PCOS compared to control (322.4 vs. 235.3 ng/L, respectively). There was no significant difference in age, BMI, and parity between control and PCOS; the frequency of hirsutism, acne, elevated LH, and increased free testosterone (fTT) were significantly higher in PCOS compared to control. Kisspeptin shows a direct significant correlation with hirsutism and fTT (r = 0.648, 0.238, respectively). In ROC analysis, kisspeptin had AUC (95% CI) = 0.874 (0.785–0.935) for predicting PCOS. Conclusion. Kisspeptin levels might be used as a marker for hyperandrogenemia in polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Resumen

407 Background: Neo-adjuvant chemotherapy coupled with robotic three stage esophagectomy have shown promising results in esophageal cancer. Methods: 136 patients diagnosed with squamous cell cancer esophagus were included to analyze the benefit of NACT with DCF (docetaxel 75mg/m2 day 1, cisplatin 75mg/m2 day 1, 5-FU 750mg/m2 per day 1-4) regimen 3 cycles followed by three stage robotic esophagectomy. Esophagus, assessed by EUS and PET-CT scan, pre-chemo and post-chemo, in biopsy proven Squamous cell Carcinoma Oesophagus. All the data pertaining to chemotherapy and surgery were prospectively maintained in a data base. Results: Median age 62.7 years, male to female 5.9:4.1. T2 4%, T3 90% & T4 6%. N0 10% & N+90%. Post NACT, Partial response of 50.8%, and a complete pathological response of 27.6% was observed with response rate of 66.3%. 20 pts. had mucositis, but none had grade 3 toxicity, neutropenia in 24 pts. and febrile neutropenia in 7 pt., vomiting and fatigue in 35 pts. Mean blood loss 256.5±85.8ml, duration of surgery 322.4±28.4min, ICU stay 1.5±0.8-day, hospital stay 10.5±2.1 day. Proximal and distal margin was negative for all whereas only 2 patients had a positive CRM. Mean Lymph node yield was 22.4±3.5 nodes. All patients had complete robotic surgery with no conversions and major intraoperative complication. Post-operatively Minor complication was noted in 5 patients temporary vocal cord palsy, 10 delayed gastric emptying, wound infection in 3 and minor lung infection 9. Major complication in form of leak (3), stenosis (5), chylous leak (4) was noted. 30-day mortality 4.5%. With the longest follow up of 50 months, 3 year DFS and OS was 75.4% & 68% respectively. Conclusions: Neoadjuvant chemotheraphy with TPF regimen showed excellent response rates with minimal G3 toxicity and is well tolerated in Indian patients. Combination of NACT with robotic esophagectomy has excellent outcome with low morbidity & mortality.

Resumen

This study aims to apply rational emotive behavior counseling as an effort to reduce cheating behavior of high school students. The design of this study was conducted using a quasi experimental method approach with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design research design. Data analysis techniques using Wilcoxon mached-pairs signed test, with the Asymp.Sig (2-Tailed) 0.028 <0.05, which shows a significant difference. The Z test value is -0.730 with the Asymp.Sig (2-Tailed) number 0.466, because of the Asymp.Sig (2-Tailed) value> 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the posttest value and the experimental group value with the control group, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which means that rational emotive behavior counseling is effective in reducing student cheating behavior. The study was carried out starting from January to March 2018, which took place at Darul Hikmah High School. Based on the results of the study, the researchers proposed several suggestions, among others (1) BK teachers, counseling rational emotive behavior can be applied by BK teachers to reduce student cheating behavior practically and can be easily applied; (2) for researchers furthermore, this research uses the pretest and posttest control group design research models, for the next researcher can use other research designs such as action research in BK, or other experimental research.
