Abstract Dacitic tuff breccia (DTB) and poultry by-products (PBP) were added to nursery pig diets to evaluate their effects on growth performance in a 35 d experiment. A randomized complete block design based on BW and sex was used. Newly weaned pigs (N=564, 20.1 d of age, 6.18±0.006 kg initial BW) allotted to four diets (15 replicates/treatment; 9 or 10 pigs/pen): 1) Negative control (NC; no DTB or PBP), 2) NC+DTB (0.5% inclusion), 3) NC+PBP (4% chicken by-product meal + 2% feather meal – replacing fishmeal, corn, and synthetic amino acids in the NC), 4) NC+DTB+PBP. Phase 1–3 were each 7-d and Phase 4 was from d21-35. During week one there were no differences (P &gt;0.10) among treatments. In week 2, pigs fed DTB tended to increase ADG (323 vs. 303 g/d; P=0.068) and ADFI (376 vs. 356 g/d; P=0.055) compared to pigs not fed DTB and pigs fed PBP tended to have increased ADG (P=0.093). In week 3 pigs fed PBP had reduced ADG (460 vs 483 g/d; P=0.011) and G:F (0.689 vs. 0.723; P&lt; 0.001), and there tended to be an interaction for G:F (P=0.083) with DTB improving G:F when fed in combination with PBP but reducing G:F in the control diet. In week 4, feeding PBP decreased ADG (384 vs 415 g/d; P&lt; 0.01) and ADFI (629 vs 666 g/d; P&lt; 0.01) compared to pigs fed no PBP. There were no differences among treatments during week 5. For Phase 4 (d21-35) pigs fed PBP had decreased ADG (479 vs 497 g/d; P=0.041) and tended to have reduced ADFI (P=0.092) compared to pigs fed no PBP. Overall (d 0–35), there were no significant differences among treatments. In conclusion, DTB improved nursery pig growth performance early, however, pigs fed PBP had decreased ADG and feed efficiency late in the nursery period.

Background:Lupus nephritis (LN) is one of the most severe complications of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Circular RNAs(circRNAs) can act as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) to regulate gene transcription, which is involved in mechanism of many diseases, such as, autoimmunity diseases. However, the role of circRNA in lupus nephritis has been rarely reported.Objectives:In this study, we aim to investigate the clinical value of circRNAs and explore the mechanism of circRNA involvement in the pathogenesis of LN.Methods:Renal tissues from three untreated LN patients and three normal controls (NCs) were used to identify differently expressed circRNAs by RNA sequencing (RNA-seq). Validated assays were used by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Correlation analysis and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve were used to reveal the clinical value of selected circRNA, miRNA and mRNA. The interactions between circRNA and miRNA, or miRNA and mRNA were further determined by luciferase reporter assay. The degrees of renal fibrosis between the two groups were compared by Masson-trichome staining and immunohistochemistry staining.Results:159 circRNAs were significantly dysregulated in LN patients compared with NC group. The expression of hsa_circ_0123190 was significantly decreased in renal tissues of patients with LN (p=0.014), as same as the sequencing results. The area under the ROC curve of hsa_circ_0123190 in renal tissues was 0.820. Bio-informatic analysis and luciferase reporter assay illustrated that hsa_circ_0123190 can act as a sponge for hsa-miR-483-3p which was also validated to interact with APLNR mRNA. APLNR mRNA expression was positively related with chronicity index (CI) of LN (R2=0.452,p=0.033). Abstract Introduction The “classical” IPSS, based on cytogenetics, marrow blast percentage, and number of cytopenias, has played a major role in prognosis assessment in MDS. The recently published revised IPSS (IPSS-R), refines the original IPSS prognostic value (Greenberg et al, Blood 2012). However, its prognostic value for response to ESA has not been assessed. We analyzed it retrospectively in 456 IPSS Low-/Int-1-risk MDS patients (pts) treated with ESA in France, Germany and Italy. Results Those 456 pts had serum EPO < 500mU/ml and Hb≤10g/dl, and had received ESA (EPO alfa or beta 40000-60000 IU/week, or darbepoietin 150 - 300µg/week) for at least 12 weeks. In addition to IPSS-R parameters, age, sex, serum EPO level, serum ferritin (SF), and RBC transfusion requirement before ESA onset were assessed for response to ESA (based on IWG 2006 criteria), and overall survival (OS) from ESA onset. Characteristics of the 456 pts at ESA onset are listed in Table 1. 71% of the pts had never received RBC transfusions, with a median Hb level of 9.3g/dl (range 7.0-10) , and 29% pts had received at least 4 RBC concentrates/8wks before ESA onset (with a maximum of 12). Median SF was 357ng/ml and serum EPO 60mU/ml (range 6-483). IPSS was low in 55% and intermediate-1 in 45% pts. IPSS-R was very low in 15%, low in 61%, intermediate in 19% and high in 4% of the pts. 303 (61%) pts had an erythroid response (ER), including 72% and 52% of low and int-1 risk pts respectively (p=0.001). Using IPSS-R, 85%, 68%, 48% and 31% of pts had ER in the very low, low, intermediate and high risk group respectively (p<0.0001). Other prognostic factors of ER, in univariate analysis, included individual IPSS-R parameters analyzed according to IPSS-R thresholds (Hb level, platelet count, ANC, marrow blast %, cytogenetics) serum EPO level, SF (variables tested as continuous variables) and previous RBC-transfusions. In multivariate analysis, IPSS-R, serum EPO, and SF remained significantly associated with ER (p<0.0001, p=0.002 and p<0.0001 respectively). Applying 1 point to each of the following unfavorable variables of ER: serum EPO >200mU/ml (=1), SF >350 ng/ml (=1), IPSS-R (very low=0, low=1, intermediate=2 and high=3), yielded a score ranging from 0 to 4, with ER rates of 85%, 80%, 64%, 40% and 20% respectively. As expected, IPSS-R also had strong prognostic value for OS (not shown). Conclusion In this patient cohort with overall favorable prognostic factors of response to ESA according to the Nordic score (ie serum EPO <500 mU/ml and no or limited transfusion dependence, Hellstrom-Lindberg et al BJH 2003), IPSS-R alone, and even better, a score >=3 (using IPSS-R, serum EPO and SF) proved useful to identify pts with low response to ESA, who also have worse OS and may require alternative treatments (Kelaidi et al, Leukemia 2013). Silver oxide (A2O) films were deposited on glass and silicon substrates held at temperatures in the range 303–473 K by reactive RF magnetron sputtering of silver target. The films formed at room temperature were single phase Ag2O with polycrystalline in nature, while those deposited at 373 K were improved in the crystallinity. The films deposited at 423 K were mixed phase of Ag2O and Ag. Atomic force micrographs of the films formed at room temperature were of spherical shape grains with size of 85 nm, whereas those deposited at 473 K were with enhanced grain size of 215 nm with pyramidal shape. Electrical resistivity of the single phase films formed at room temperature was 5.2 × 10−3 Ωcm and that of mixed phase was 4.2 × 10−4 Ωcm. Optical band gap of single phase films increased from 2.05 to 2.13 eV with the increase of substrate temperature from 303 to 373 K, while in mixed phase films it was 1.92 eV.

The chemical transformation of the Tokem-308 cation exchanger (analogous to KU-2x8) in an HNO3 (steam)—air atmosphere obtained by evaporating 12 mol / l HNO3 is described. Gas-phase treatment of Tokem-308 resin samples in the above atmosphere at 403—443 K for 4—24 h leads to a change in some of their physical (mass, color, etc.) and chemical (solubility in H2O, NaOH, C2H5OH, acetone) properties. It has been found that 2,4-dinitrophenylacetic acid and para-nitrobenzoic acid are among the products of Tokem-308 resin transformation in the HNO3 (steam)—air atmosphere.

ABSTRACTOn a global and regional scale, Indonesia has one of the least environmentally sustainable economies in the Asia-Pacific region. Consumption is one of the key factors contributing to environmental degradation. By using materialism and environmental knowledge as mediators, this study aimed to understand how religiosity affects ethical consumption. This research used quantitative methods with structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis techniques based on partial least squares (PLS). The data came from a questionnaire distributed online. 153 valid questionnaires were selected for analysis. All respondents came from Indonesia, were adults (from 18 years old), and were Muslims. Findings show that religiosity influences ethical consumption, materialism, and environmental knowledge. This research also reveals that materialism and environmental knowledge influence ethical consumption, as well as the mediating effect of materialism and environmental knowledge on the influence between religiosity and ethical consumption. So, all hypotheses from this research can be accepted. These findings contribute theoretically to explaining the relationship between religiosity, materialism, environmental knowledge, and ethical consumption. Thus, this findings contribute to the field of Islamic economics. Practically, the findings of this research can help marketers formulate communication strategies that take into account the level of religiosity of consumers in Indonesia. Marketers must avoid unethical practices to encourage ethical consumption.Keywords: Religiosity, ethical consumption, materialism, environmental knowledge ABSTRAKPada skala global dan regional, Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan perekonomian paling tidak ramah lingkungan di kawasan Asia-Pasifik. Konsumsi merupakan salah satu faktor utama yang berkontribusi terhadap degradasi lingkungan. Dengan menggunakan materialisme dan enviromental knowledge sebagai mediator, penelitian ini berupaya memahami bagaimana religiosity mempengaruhi ethical consumption. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis Structural Equation Model (SEM) berbasis Partial Least Square (PLS). Data berasal dari kuesioner yang disebarkan online. 153 kuesioner yang valid dipilih untuk analisis. Seluruh responden berasal dari Indonesia, dewasa (mulai 18 tahun) dan beragama Islam. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa religiosity berpengaruh terhadap ethical consumption, materialism, dan environmental knowledge. Selain itu juga diketahui bahwa materialism dan environmental knowledge berpengaruh ethical consumption, serta adanya efek mediasi dari materialism dan environmental knowledge pada pengaruh antara religiosity dan ethical consumption. Sehingga, semua hipotesis penelitian ini dapat diterima. Secara praktis, temuan penelitian ini dapat membantu pemasar untuk merumuskan strategi komunikasi yang mempertimbangkan tingkat religiosity konsumen di Indonesia. Two novel thiopyrano [4,3-d] pyrimidine derivatives 7 and 8 were synthesized from dimethyl 3,3'-thiodipropanoate through six steps including two times of cyclization, chlorination, oxidation, substitution with morpholine and piperazine and their structures were confirmed by1H NMR and MS spectrum. The total yield of the six steps was 18.6% (calculated from methyl dimethyl 3,3'-thiodipropanoate). The synthetic routes of them can be used to synthesize PI3K/mTOR inhibitors bearing a thiopyrano [4,3-d] pyrimidine nucleus.

BackgroundPsoriasis is a chronic, multisystem inflammatory disease with predominantly skin and joint involvement. The interleukin-(IL-)17 axis plays a vital role in the development of psoriasis. Secukinumab (Cosentyx) is a fully human monoclonal antibody that selectively targets IL-17A for the treatment of adult patients with psoriasis[1].ObjectivesThis study aimed to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of secukinumab therapy in psoriasis.MethodsEight databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Knowledge, MEDLINE, Clinical Trials.gov, and FDA.gov) were searched for studies on secukinumab treatment of psoriasis published from the date of establishment of the database to January 3, 2022. A random effect model was used to conduct a meta-analysis of the efficacy and safety of abatacept in patients with RA using (Stata 12.0).ResultsA total of 27 studies with a total of 4470 patients were included. After receiving secukinumab therapy for 12 weeks, The response rate of PASI 75 was 82.2% (95% CI 0.766–0.879,p<0.01), PASI 90 was 66.3%(95% CI 0.609–0.718,p<0.01), and PASI 100 was 42% (95% CI 0.343–0.497,p<0.01). The results showed that more than 80% of patients achieved skin lesion removal in 12 weeks. Considering PGA 0/1 as the secondary endpoint. The percentage of patients who achieved a PGA score of 0 or 1 was 72.3% at 12 weeks (95% CI 0.658–0.788,p=0.005). As for the safety, the incidence of adverse events was 63.7%. Infection is the main adverse effects, with rates of 19.4%. Most of the adverse events were mild and recovered quickly after discontinuation. New green natural particles as corrosion inhibitor namely, macromolecules were incorporated beginning from 4-hydroxycoumarin with 4-nitrobenzaldehyde in the presence of glacial acid (1) then synthesis with methyl bromoacetate after that this compound (2) used to synthesis of 2,2'-(3,3'-((4-nitrophenyl)methylene)bis(2-oxo-2H-chromene-4,3 diyl))bis(oxy)diacetohydrazide (3) when was refluxed with hydrazine hydrate when compound(2) refluxed with HCl to obtain compound (4) and tested all the synthesis compounds on mild steel (MS) in 1 M HCl, 1M H2SO4 media by a weight loss method and identification of the surface technique employee scanning/electron/microscope (SEM) studies. The weight loss investigation demonstrated that inhibition performances have been improved via concentration raising of inhibitor. To support our results scanning electron microscopy was employed to clarify the surface of the MS with and without synthesis compounds in 1.0 M HCl and1.0M H2SO4 media.

Condições meteorológicas predominantes em diferentes horários de aplicação podem interferir na eficácia de herbicidas. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi determinar o horário mais adequado para a aplicação de dicamba e associações visando a otimização do controle de Bidens pilosa. O experimento foi realizado em casa-de-vegetação, no delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com 4 repetições. Os tratamentos foram dispostos em esquema fatorial (14 x 4) +1, sendo 14 tratamentos com herbicidas e suas associações e quatro horários de aplicação, mais a testemunha sem herbicida. Os herbicidas dicamba (480 e 280 g i.a. ha-¹), glufosinato de amônio (600 e 300 g i.a. ha-¹), glifosato (1140 e 720 g i.a. ha-¹) e as combinações de dicamba + glufosinato de amônio (480 + 600, 480 + 300, 280 + 600, 280 + 300 g i.a. ha-¹), dicamba + glifosato (480 + 1140, 480 + 720, 280 + 1140 e 280 + 720 g i.a. ha-¹), além da testemunha, foram aplicados sobre Bidens pilosa as 08:00, 12:00, 17:00 e 21:00 horas. Os resultados evidenciaram que as associações de dicamba com glufosinato de amônio e glifosato foram eficazes no controle de B. pilosa, independentemente do horário de aplicação. O horário de aplicação apresentou maior interferência na eficácia dos herbicidas quando aplicados isoladamente nas menores doses.

A 4H-SiC 600 V class Deep-Implanted gate Vertical JFET (DI-VJFET) is examined. The DI-VJFET exhibited a specific on-resistance of 13 mΩcm2, drain current of 5 A, and a blocking-voltage of 600 V. In this paper, the very high temperature dependence (R.T.~ 400 oC) of the I-V characteristics is measured and the dominant factor of the on-resistance and the blocking-voltage is discussed. Moreover, the switching waveform of SiC DI-VJFET with SiC SBD is measured by using a half bridge, double-pulse circuit with inductive load at R.T. and 200 oC. The turn-off time is 300 ns at an inductance of 4 mH and an external gate resistance of 100 Ω.

Sexual health data on transgender and non-binary (TNB) people in the United Kingdom are limited. TNB individuals experience significant socioeconomic and stigma-related disadvantages. Sexual health morbidity and unmet need is likely to be significant. We compared the sexual health outcomes of TNB and cisgender users of London’s online sexual health service. Of 119329 users that registered with the e-service between 30.4.19 and 31.12.19, 504 (0.42%) identified as TNB: 302 TNB users requested 463 kits. 78.4% (363/463) of kits were returned. 99.4% of dispatched kits included throat and rectal swabs for gonorrhoea and chlamydia testing. STI/HIV test positivity was: 5.5% syphilis, 4.8% chlamydia, 3.4% gonorrhoea and 0.7% HIV positive. HIV prevalence amongst TNB individuals was: 4.3%. 19.9% of TNB individuals engaged in chemsex, group sex, or fisting and were more likely to engage in sex work. 97.7% gave the service 4/5 or 5/5 star rating. We observed high positivity rates of HIV/STIs amongst TNB individuals and significant levels of high-risk sexual activity. Service users rated the service highly. Given TNB often have complex healthcare needs, some of which cannot be met entirely online, physical clinics must work collaboratively with e-services to support and protect this marginalised population.

Objective: to investigate the safety and immunogenicity of 23-valent polysaccharide pneumococcal vaccine (PPV-23) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Subjects and methods. The investigation enrolled 30 patients with a reliable diagnosis of SLE; of them there were 27 women and 3 men at the age of 19 to 62 years. The disease duration ranged from 9 months to 20 years. At the time of inclusion in the investigation, the disease activity was high in 2 patients, moderate in 3, and low in 20; five patients were in remission. During a year before vaccination, pneumonia was detected in 5 (16.7%) of the 30 patients; there were a total of 18 episodes of various respiratory and ENT infections. The patients were examined at baseline and at 1, 3 and 12 months after vaccination. Standard clinical and laboratory studies and a detailed blood immunological analysis were carried out at visits. The levels of IgG antibodies to capsular polysaccharide pneumococcus were determined during each visit. Twenty-nine patients received glucocorticoids (GCs) at a dose of 5–30 mg/day; 24 – hydroxychloroquine; 14 – cytostatics (CS); 10 – biological agents (BAs) (5 – rituximab, 5 – belimumab). A single dose of 0.5 ml of PPV-23 (Pneumo 23, Aventis) was subcutaneously injected into the upper outer arm. Vaccination was done during the ongoing therapy with GC/CS and belimumab, as well as at least 1 month before the first (next) administration and/or 4.5–5 months after the last rituximab infusion. Results and discussion. 60% of patients were observed to have mild and moderate standard local vaccine reactions; 1 (3.3%) patient had a local hyperergic reaction eliminated within 7 days of the local application of antihistamines and GCs. During the follow-up, there was no SLE exacerbation significantly associated with the vaccination performed. No new autoimmune phenomena were found in any of the cases. A year after vaccination, a significant (2-fold or more) increase in anti-pneumococcal antibody levels remained in 19 (63.3%) patients (respondents); 36.7% of patients were nonrespondents. Among the patients who received a BA, the non-responders were significantly more than among those who did not take the drug (7 (70%) and 4 (20%), respectively) (p = 0.01). When treated with rituximab and belimumab, the number of non-respondents was comparable (4 and 3, respectively). The immunogenicity of PPV-23 was independent of the degree of SLE activity: the vaccine response was absent in 1 out of the 5 patients with high (n = 2) and medium (n = 3) SLE activities, as well as in 10 out of the 25 patients with low disease activity and remission. There was no development of considerable adverse reactions after vaccination in patients with high and medium SLE activity. The overall clinical efficiency of vaccination was 93.3%. Conclusion. Thus, PPV-23 shows a good tolerability and a sufficient immunogenicity in patients with SLE. There is a need for further investigations conducted in large samples of patients during long-term follow-ups in order to more fully evaluate the clinical efficacy, tolerability, and immunogenicity of PPV-23.

Currently, islet isolation is performed using harsh collagenases that cause nonspecific injury to both islets and exocrine tissue, negatively affecting the outcome of cell transplantation. We evaluated a novel islet isolation protocol utilizing high concentrations of glucose to cause selective osmotic shock (SOS). Islets have a membrane glucose transporter that allows adaptation to changes in glucose concentrations while exocrine tissue can be selectively destroyed by these osmolar shifts. Canine pancreata were obtained within 15 min after euthanasia from animals ( n = 6) euthanized for reasons unrelated to this study. Each pancreas was divided into 4 segments that were randomized to receive 300 mOsm glucose for 20 min (group 1), 600 mOsm for 20 min (group 2), 300 mOsm for 40 min (group 3), or 600 mOsm for 40 min (group 4). Islet yield, purity, and viability were compared between groups. Mean ± standard error of the mean islet yield for groups 1 to 4 was 428 ± 159, 560 ± 257, 878 ± 443, and 990 ± 394 islet equivalents per gram, respectively. Purity ranged from 37% to 45% without the use of density gradient centrifugation and was not significantly different between groups. Islet cell viability was excellent overall (89%) and did not differ between treatment protocol. Islet function was best in groups treated with 300 mOsm of glucose (stimulation index [SI] = 3.3), suggesting that the lower concentration of glucose may be preferred for use in canine islet isolation. SOS provides a widely available means for researchers to isolate canine islets for use in islet transplantation or in studies of canine islet physiology.

ABSTRACTCorrosion behavior is a key issue in the assessment of disposal performance for activated waste such as spent fuel assemblies (i.e., hulls and end-pieces) because corrosion is expected to initiate radionuclide (e.g., C-14) leaching from such waste. Because the anticipated corrosion rate is extremely low, understanding and modeling Zircaloy (Zry) corrosion behavior under geological disposal conditions is important in predicting very long-term corrosion. Corrosion models applicable in the higher temperature ranges of nuclear reactors have been proposed based on considerable testing in the 523−633 K temperature range.In this study, corrosion tests were carried out to confirm the applicability of such existing models to the low temperature range of geological disposal, and to examine the influence of material, environmental, and other factors on corrosion rates under geological disposal conditions. A characterization analysis of the generated oxide film was also performed.To confirm applicability, the corrosion rate of Zry-4 in pure water with a temperature change from 303 K to 433 K was obtained using a hydrogen measuring technique, giving a corrosion rate for 180 days of 8 × 10-3 μm/y at 303 K.To investigate the influence of various factors, corrosion tests were carried out. The corrosion rates for Zry-2 and Zry-4 were almost same, and increased with a temperature increase from 303 K to 353 K. The influence of pH (12.5) compared with pure water was about 1.4 at 180 days at 303 K.

Although macadamia was introduced to Kenya in 1946, it was not until the 1960s that commercial cutlivation commenced in the central, eastern, and western highlands. In the 1970s, 300 macadamia trees in the Central and Eastern highlands were selected based on nut yield and tree characteristics. In 1981, a subset of 25 of the most outstanding macadamia clones were planted (1979–1987) and evaluated at the National Horticulture Research Centre in Thika. Trial orchards, consisting seven to 15 clones (EMB-1, EMB-2, EMB-H, KMB-1, KMB-3, KMB-4, KRG-1, KRG-3, KRG-4, KRG-15, MRG-1, MRG-20, MRG-24, MRU-25, and TTW-2), were established in 1982, 1986, and 1989. The trials were set up as RCBD with five blocks and three to eight plants of each clone per block. Results from trial orchards show that macadamia hybrids (a natural hybrid between M. integrifolia and M. tetraphylla) EMB-H, KMB-3, and KMB-4 perform well at the higher elevations (>1700 m). The most outstanding clones of M. integrifolia with wide adaptability (1400 to 1750 m) were EMB-1, KRG-15, and MRG-20. Three distinct nut-bearing patterns [single peak (most varieties), bimodal peak, and ever-bearing] were observed. Nut clusters contain an average of 10 nuts (M. integrifolia) or 25 nuts (macadamia hybrid). Ten-year-old trees yield between 30 to 60 kg of nuts a year with kernel recovery of 28% to 41%.

3031 Background: Ipilimumab is an anti-CTLA-4 monoclonal antibody (Ab) that overcomes T-cell suppression. In this phase II study (CA184004), humoral and cellular responses were assessed in ipilimumab-treated pts with unresectable stage III/IV melanoma. Methods: Ipilimumab 3 or 10 mg/kg was given every 3 weeks x 4. Tetanus boosters were given ≤10 days pre-treatment. Influenza and pneumococcal vaccines were given 5 days after first ipilimumab dose. Tetanus, anti-influenza, and anti-pneumococcal Ab levels were assessed at pre-dose and Wk 7. Humoral response to 5 tumor antigens (Ag) and a control Ag (DHFR) were examined at baseline (BL) and at Wks 4, 8–9, and 12. DTH skin tests were given at pre-dose and Wk 4, with responses recorded 15 minutes (min) and 24–72 hours (hrs) post-test. Peripheral T-cell populations were evaluated through flow cytometry at BL, Wk 4, and Wk 12. Results: Pts received ipilimumab 3 (n = 40) or 10 mg/kg (n = 42). Increases from BL in humoral responses to pneumococcal (40–50/78 pts, depending on Ab) and tetanus (58/78 pts) vaccines were noted, even in pts who did not receive on-study pneumococcal (4–9 pts) or tetanus (7 pts) vaccines. Increased humoral response to influenza only occurred in pts receiving the influenza vaccine. Maximum increase from BL of ≥ 5-fold titer (clinically meaningful threshold) in humoral response to tumor Ag MELANA (23.2% of pts), SSX2 (20.3%), NYES01 (18.8%), MAGEA4 (10.1%), and P53 (4.3%) (DHFR, 4.3%) was noted without tumor vaccines. Tumor Ag response was not associated with clinical activity (complete or partial response, or stable disease ≥ 24 wks). Increased DTH reactions were noted for tetanus, 24–72 hrs (3 mg/kg: 5/7 pts; 10 mg/kg: 3/6 pts); tuberculin, 15 min (3 mg/kg: 7/15 pts; 10 mg/kg: 4/15 pts); Candida, 15 min (3 mg/kg: 4/6 pts; 10 mg/kg: 2/7 pts); and Trichophyton, 15 min (3 mg/kg: 3/4 pts; 10 mg/kg: 2/5 pts). Significant increases from BL in percents of HLA-DR+ CD4+ (p = 9.3x10-7), HLA-DR+ CD8+ (p = 0.018), and ICOS+ CD4+ (p = 0.0027) effector T cells were noted. Conclusions: Humoral immunity in ipilimumab-treated pts increased (± vaccination) in an Ag-dependent manner and cellular immunity was enhanced. Изучены классный состав и экстерьер Бай-Талского типа яка породы сарлык, разводимого в ГУП «Бай-Тал» Бай-Тайгинского района Республики Тыва. В данном хозяйстве количество быков-производителей классов «элита» и «элита-рекорд» составило 94,6%, якоматок, отвечающих требованиям I класса и выше, — 89,3%, в том числе классов «элита» и «элита-рекорд» — 49,2%. Якоматки (76,6%) имели возраст 4 года и старше, яки-производители — 5—7 лет. Основная масть яков — черная или черно-пестрая, 15% животных имеют коричневый окрас c отметинами белого цвета. Живая масса производителей и якоматок в исследуемом хозяйстве выше, чем у их сверстников в КФК «Чинге-Шивилиг», на 4,9% (P<0,001) и 1,6% соответственно. Производители и матки ГУП «Бай-Тал» превосходили сверстников по показателям высоты в холке на 9 и 5 см (7,5 и 4,2%); по косой длине туловища — на 5,5 и 4,2 см (4,3 и 3,5%); по глубине груди — на 3,0 и 5,2 (4,3 и 8,5%), ширине груди — на 2,0 и 3,3 см (4,4 и 8,5%), обхвату груди — на 13,0 и 8 см (7,1 и 4,9%) при P<0,01—0,001. Показатель грудного индекса был больше на 0,76 и 0,1%, тазогрудного — на 1,24 и 0,91% сответственно. Преимущество яков Бай-Талского типа подтверждает показатель индекса сбитости, характеризующий лучшее развитие массы тела, величина которого у них больше на 3,1 и 1,3%. The class composition and exterior of the Bai-Tal type of the Sarlyk yak, bred in the State Unitary Enterprise "Bai-Tal" of the Bai-Taiginsky district of the Republic of Tyva, were studied. In this farm, the number of sires of the "elite" and "eliterecord" classes amounted to 94.6%, yak females meeting the requirements of class I and above — 89.3%, including the "elite" and "elite-record" classes - 49.2%. Yak females (76.6%) were 4 years old and older, sire yaks were 5—7 years old. The main color of yaks is black or black-and-white, 15% of animals are brown with white markings. The live weight of sires and yak females in the study farm is higher than that of their peers in Chinge-Shivilig, by 4.9% (P<0.001) and 1.6%, respectively. The sires and queens of Bai-Tal State Unitary Enterprise surpassed their peers in terms of height at the withers by 9 and 5 cm (7.5 and 4.2%); along the oblique length of the body — by 5.5 and 4.2 cm (4.3 and 3.5%); chest depth — by 3.0 and 5.2 (4.3 and 8.5%), chest width — by 2.0 and 3.3 cm (4.4 and 8.5%), chest circumference — by 13.0 and 8 cm (7.1 and 4.9%) at P<0.01—0.001. The thoracic index was higher by 0.76 and 0.1%, the thoracic index — by 1.24 and 0.91%, respectively. The advantage of yaks of the Bai-Tal type is confirmed by the downfall index, which characterizes the best development of body weight, the value of which is higher by 3.1 and 1.3%.

It is now well established that after menopause cardiometabolic disorders become more common. Recently, resistance exercise has been recommended as a complement to aerobic (combined training, CT) for the treatment of cardiometabolic diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of CT in hypertensive ovariectomized rats undergoing fructose overload in blood pressure variability (BPV), inflammation, and oxidative stress parameters. Female rats were divided into the following groups ( n = 8/group): sedentary normotensive Wistar rats (C), and sedentary (FHO) or trained (FHOT) ovariectomized spontaneously hypertensive rats undergoing and fructose overload. CT was performed on a treadmill and ladder adapted to rats in alternate days (8 wk; 40–60% maximal capacity). Arterial pressure (AP) was directly measured. Oxidative stress and inflammation were measured on cardiac and renal tissues. The association of risk factors (hypertension + ovariectomy + fructose) promoted increase in insulin resistance, mean AP (FHO: 174 ± 4 vs. C: 108 ± 1 mmHg), heart rate (FHO: 403 ± 12 vs. C: 352 ± 11 beats/min), BPV, cardiac inflammation (tumor necrosis factor-α-FHO: 65.8 ± 9.9 vs. C: 23.3 ± 4.3 pg/mg protein), and oxidative stress cardiac and renal tissues. However, CT was able to reduce mean AP (FHOT: 158 ± 4 mmHg), heart rate (FHOT: 303 ± 5 beats/min), insulin resistance, and sympathetic modulation. Moreover, the trained rats presented increased nitric oxide bioavailability, reduced tumor necrosis factor-α (FHOT: 33.1 ± 4.9 pg/mg protein), increased IL-10 in cardiac tissue and reduced lipoperoxidation, and increased antioxidant defenses in cardiac and renal tissues. In conclusion, the association of risk factors promoted an additional impairment in metabolic, cardiovascular, autonomic, inflammatory, and oxidative stress parameters and combined exercise training was able to attenuate these dysfunctions.

Abstract Benzodiazepine (Bz)-423 is a benzodiazepine derivative that targets activated lymphocytes through the mitochondrial F1F0-ATPase, causing loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and apoptosis without affecting resting lymphocytes. We tested Bz-423 in a non-irradiated B6-Ly5.2 → B6D2F1 model of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) where donor cells were labeled with CFSE to discriminate 3 days after injection between activated (CFSElo) and unactivated (CFSEhi) Ly5.2+ donor or host Ly5.1+ lymphocytes. Compared to controls, Bz-423 caused loss of mitochondrial membrane polarization within 6h of delivery as measured by 3,3’-dihexyloxacarbocyanine iodide (DiOC6(3)) staining in both activated donor CD4+ (12.6% vs 3.3%, p=0.002) and activated CD8+ (12.9% vs 3.0%, p<0.001) T cells but not in unactivated donor or host cells. Loss of mitochondrial membrane potential was followed by selective apoptosis (Annexin-V+) of donor CD4+ (34.9% vs 16.5%, p=0.04) and CD8+ (29.8% vs 12.2%, p=0.03) T cells. Intraperitoneal injection of 60mg/kg Bz-423 3 times weekly beginning 7d after GVHD induction significantly reduced mortality (50% vs 100%, p<0.02). We next used Bz-423 in a miHA-disparate, CD8+ T cell-mediated model of GVHD (C3H.SW → B6) in which B6 hosts received 9 Gy of TBI followed by injection of 5x106 C3H.SW BM cells and 4x106 T cells. We initiated Bz-423 injections 7d after BMT, when GVHD was already established. The drug significantly reduced GVHD clinical scores and improved survival compared to controls (74% vs 29%, p≤0.02). Bz-423 also significantly reduced quantitative GVHD histologic damage indices in the liver (3.6 vs 11.2, p<0.03) and the GI tract (7.0 vs 15.8, p<0.02). Complete donor engraftment was observed in all animals. Bz-423 reduced IFN-γ, a known mediator of GVHD, in the serum (8.4 vs 21.7 pg/ml, p<0.03) and decreased IFN-γ+CD8+ effector spleen T cells (0.64x105 vs 2.2x105, p=0.008), but did not impair the lysis of tumor targets by CD8+ T cells ex vivo. We tested Bz-423 next in a graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) model where EL-4 lymphoma cells (4x103) that are syngeneic to B6 recipients were injected on the day of BMT. No recipients of syngeneic BMT survived EL-4 challenge (0/12) and no untreated allogeneic BMT survived GVHD (0/12) but 9/14 (64%) of Bz-423 treated allogeneic recipients were alive on day 50 without evidence of lymphoma (p=0.003, Fig 1a). We confirmed the effectiveness of Bz-423 in a third model of GVHD to MHC differences (Balb/c → B6) where again Bz-423 significantly reduced all clinical, biochemical and histologic GVHD parameters and improved day 60 survival (58% vs 8%, p<0.002). Bz-423 also preserved GVL effects in this model where 50% of recipients survived without evidence of EL-4 lymphoma compared to 0% of controls (p<0.04, Fig 1b). We conclude that Bz-423, a first-in-class compound that selectively inhibits mitochondrial respiration and causes apoptosis of activated lymphocytes, can reverse experimental GVHD while preserving beneficial GVL effects. Abstract Objective Individuals with subjective cognitive decline (SCD) are approximately twice as likely to develop dementia and less likely to seek cognitive assessment. Home-based cognitive assessment (HBCA) could reduce many practical and emotional barriers associated with in-person cognitive testing. We aimed to explore the relationship between SCD and likelihood of HBCA participation across various modalities. Method A nation-wide sample of 483 community-dwelling adults age 50 years and older (M = 63.61 ± 5.47) were recruited via Amazon Mechanical Turk, an online crowdsourcing website, to complete a survey. SCD was measured using the SCD-MyCog Questionnaire. A score of 7/24 endorsed symptoms classified respondents into SCD and non-SCD. Likelihood of participation in HBCA was measured using 4 likert-scale items (e.g., “How likely would you be to participate in HBCA via computer?”). Total likelihood was calculated by summing items. Results Regression revealed SCD symptom burden predicted likelihood of participation in HBCA [F(1, 481) = 12.42, B = .097, [.043–.150], p &lt; .001, r^2 = .025]. Likelihood was higher in SCD (15.25 ± 3.3) than non-SCD (14.23 ± 3.5). When looking at specific HBCA modalities, SCD were more likely than non-SCD to participate in computer and videoconferencing modalities (1.36 ± 0.6 vs1.68 ± 0.87, p &lt; .001; 2.26 ± 1.11 vs 2.58 ± 1.16, p &lt; .001). There was no relationship with iPad or smartphone modalities. Conclusion SCD endorsement was associated with increased likelihood of engagement in HBCA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa jumlah kebutuhan dan biaya untuk bahan bakar batu bara jenis bituminus dan cangkang sawit. Variabel bebas adalah kapasitas boiler 2,5 ton/jam, 3 ton/jam, 4 ton/jam. Variabel konstan adalah tekanan steam 1,25 MPa, temperatur steam 194ºC, temperature air umpan 75°C pada tekanan 0,15 MPa, efisiensi boiler 78,8%. Metode penelitian adalah dengan menghitung kebutuhan kalor boiler, kebutuhan bahan bakar, jumlah biaya untuk setiap jenis bahan bakar dilanjutkan dengan analisa. Hasil perhitungan kalor boiler kapasitas 2,5 ton/jam, 3 ton/jam, 4 ton/jam berturut-turut adalah 1.482.476 kkal/jam, 1.778.972 kkal/jam, 2.371.962 kkal/jam. Kebutuhan bahan bakar batu bara dan cangkang sawit per jam berturut-turut sebesar 304 kg, 364 kg, 483 kg dan 430 kg, 511 kg, 681 kg. Biaya untuk batu bara dan cangkang sawit per jam berturut-turut adalah Rp350.000, Rp419.000, Rp555.500, dan Rp365.500, Rp435.500, Rp579.000.Kata kunci: boiler, solid fuel, cangkang sawit, batu bara, biayaAbstract The Boiler DZL4 with solid fuel type are operated in PT. Lautan Luas Tbk for chemical reaction processes. The purpose of this research is to analize the amount of use and costs between palm kernel shell and bituminous type of coal. The independent variables are boiler capacity of 2,5 tons/hour, 3 tons/hour and 4 tons/hour. The constant variable is steam pressure 1,25 MPa, steam temperature 194ºC, feed water temperature 75°C at 0,15 MPa pressure and boiler efficiency 78,8%. The research method is to calculate the boiler heat requirements, amount of fuel needs, the costs for each type of fuel then continue the analysis. The results of heating boiler calculations for capacity of 2,5 tons/hour, 3 tons/hour and 4 tons/hour respectively are 1.482.476 kcal/hour, 1.778.972 kcal/hour, 2.371.962 kcal/hour. The fuel consumption of coal and palm kernel shells per hour respectively are 304 kg, 364kg, 483 kg, and 430 kg, 511 kg, 681 kg. Background:Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are effective in reducing pain and stiffness in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients (pts).1However, continuous use of NSAIDs may lead to gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and renal toxicity.2Therefore, reduction in NSAID intake is desirable in AS pts.Objectives:To evaluate the long-term effect of secukinumab (SEC) on NSAID intake in AS pts pooled from the 3 SEC trials (MEASURE [M] 2-4).Methods:NSAID intake was evaluated prospectively using the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society (ASAS)-NSAID score.3The score was determined by type of NSAID, daily dose, and weights from frequency of intake, as well as % of time use in period. An ASAS-NSAID score of ‘0’ indicates no NSAID intake. Pts with ASAS-NSAID score >0 at baseline (BL) were analysed. SEC dose groups were defined as Any 150 or 300 mg, as defined for pooled safety analyses for SEC. Pts with initial placebo treatment (up to 24 weeks) were included in their respective post-Week 24 SEC dose groups to analyse ASAS-NSAID score at Year (Y) 2 (M2-4), Y3 (M2-3) and Y4 (M2) from BL. From the ASAS-NSAID score at BL, the mean change in ASAS-NSAID score, proportion of pts achieving 50% reduction, and the proportion of pts with score <10 were evaluated for each dose at Y2, 3 and 4. Based on the distribution of ASAS-NSAID scores at BL, 2 subgroups were evaluated: (i) <75 (low user); (ii) ≥75 (high user).Results:Overall, 562 pts (SEC: 150 mg, N=467; 300 mg, N=95) were analysed. The mean ASAS-NSAID score decreased with time in both dose groups. Greater improvements were observed in high NSAID users and with longer treatment exposure (Figure). Proportion of pts who achieved 50% reduction in ASAS-NSAID score increased with time in both SEC 150 and 300 mg groups. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effects of the daily administration of an arginine-based supplement for 4 weeks on the gas exchange threshold (GET) and peak oxygen uptake. The study used a double-blind, placebo-controlled design. Forty-one college-aged males (mean age ± SD = 22.1 ± 2.4 years) were randomized into either the PLACEBO (n = 20) or ARGININE (n = 21) group. The placebo was microcrystalline cellulose. The ARGININE group ingested 3.0 g of arginine, 300 mg of grape seed extract, and 300 mg of polyethylene glycol. All subjects performed an incremental test to exhaustion on a cycle ergometer prior to supplementation (PRE) and after 4 weeks of supplementation (POST). The GET was determined by using the V-slope method of the carbon dioxide output vs. oxygen uptake relationship. The results indicated that there were significant mean increases (PRE to POST) in GET (4.1%), as well as in carbon dioxide output (4.3%) and power output (5.4%) at the GET for the ARGININE group, but no significant changes for the PLACEBO group (2.5%, 4.3%, and 3.9%, respectively). In addition, there were no significant changes in peak oxygen uptake for the ARGININE (–1.0%) or PLACEBO (–1.5%) groups. These findings supported the use of the arginine-based supplement for increasing GET and the associated power output, but not for increasing peak oxygen uptake during cycle ergometry.

This research has an objective to develop and fabricate thermoelectric generator (TEG) from the p-Ca3Co4O9 and n-CaMnO3 ceramic materials. The p-n materials were cut and polished to the dimension of 4 × 4 × 4 mm3 and 71 couples. The relationship between temperature difference and electrical voltage, electrical current, electrical power and conversion efficiency were measured. The electricity and efficiency of TEG showed the maximum value of 1.6 V, 300 mA, 480 mW and 0.025 % at temperature difference of 60 K.

The reactions of trichloromethylium (CCl3+) with benzene and the lower alkyl aromatics (ArH) have been studied by high pressure mass spectrometry at pressures in the range 2–4 Torr and temperatures from 300 to 560 K. The only two primary products are the adduct ArHCCl3+ and ArCCl2+, which is formed by loss of HCl from the adduct. The relative yields of adduct increase with increasing number of methyl substituents on the aromatic ring (benzene → mesitylene). The disappearance of CCl3+ is kinetically second order with specific rate constants increasing from benzene to mesitylene, the latter reacting essentially at every ion–molecule collision. All rate constants are fairly large (>1010 cc molecule−1 s−1) and show negative temperature coefficients. ArCCl2+ is unreactive but ArHCCl3+ reacts further by proton transfer to ArH.

The proportion of ADA- and nAb-positive patients increased from baseline in all 3 RCTs, and were similar in RA and CD RCTs, but rates were higher in PsO RCT. Subgroup analysis by patient sex showed the same trend. These differences may be partially explained by concomitant background therapy (MTX) in RA trial, stable doses of AZA, 6-MP or MTX in 36% of CD patients and the absence of background therapy in PsO RCT. Comparisons are limited by different visit schedules in the trials. Historical comparisons to RP data are complicated by recent differences in regulatory requirements for increased ADA assay sensitivity and stringency for biosimilar products than those originally used for the RP. Acid dissociation followed by the more sensitive ECL assay for detection of ADAs is not dependent on serum drug concentrations. Activation of the CB2 receptor is apparently an endogenous protective mechanism. Thus, it restrains inflammation and protects the skeleton against age-related bone loss. However, the endogenous cannabinoids, as well as Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the main plant psychoactive constituent, activate both cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2. HU-308 was among the first synthetic, selective CB2 agonists. HU-308 is antiosteoporotic and antiinflammatory. Here we show that the HU-308 enantiomer, designated HU-433, is 3–4 orders of magnitude more potent in osteoblast proliferation and osteoclast differentiation culture systems, as well as in mouse models, for the rescue of ovariectomy-induced bone loss and ear inflammation. HU-433 retains the HU-308 specificity for CB2, as shown by its failure to bind to the CB1 cannabinoid receptor, and has no activity in CB2-deficient cells and animals. Surprisingly, the CB2 binding affinity of HU-433 in terms of [3H]CP55,940 displacement and its effect on [35S]GTPγS accumulation is substantially lower compared with HU-308. A molecular-modeling analysis suggests that HU-433 and -308 have two different binding conformations within CB2, with one of them possibly responsible for the affinity difference, involving [35S]GTPγS and cAMP synthesis. Hence, different ligands may have different orientations relative to the same binding site. This situation questions the usefulness of universal radioligands for comparative binding studies. Moreover, orientation-targeted ligands have promising potential for the pharmacological activation of distinct processes.

Deformation mechanisms of Mg89Zn4Y7 (at.%) extruded alloy, which is mostly composed of LPSO-phase, was investigated focusing on their temperature dependence. The yield stress of as-extruded alloy showed extremely high value of ~480 MPa at RT, but it largely decreased to ~130 MPa at 300 °C. The decreasing rate of the yield stress could be significantly reduced, however, by the annealing of specimen at 400 °C, by suppressing the microyielding which is considered to occur related by the grain boundary sliding in restricted regions. The yield stress of the annealed specimens with random textures could be estimated by the Hall-Petch relationship by regarding the length of long-axis of plate-like grains as a grain size between RT and 300 °C. The yield stress of the annealed specimens maintained high values even at 200°C, but it also showed large decreases at 300 °C.

O presente trabalho aborda a última manifestação do Tribunal Federal alemão (Bundesgerichtshof – BGH) a respeito da possibilidade de responsabilidade penal por homicídio doloso qualificado no caso que ficou conhecido como “Racha em Berlim” (Urt. v. 18.6.2020 – 4 StR 482/19). Considerando os demais precedentes e a doutrina, discutem-se, em detalhes, os argumentos oferecidos pelo Tribunal, em especial a confirmação da possibilidade de imputação a título de dolo eventual e os problemas de coautoria entre os participantes da disputa automobilística. Conclui-se que a decisão representa um indicativo de um afastamento da leitura volitivista do dolo por parte da jurisprudência alemã e, de acordo com a autora, uma aplicação da teoria do perigo doloso (Vorsatzgefahr).

An acidic peroxidase (EC 1.11.1.7) produced by cell suspension cultures of Cassia didymobotrya(wild senna) was purified from culture medium collected on the 29th day. The enzyme was shown to be a glycoprotein with a pI of 3.5, a molecular mass of approx. 43 kDa by SDS/PAGE and 50 kDa by gel filtration. The N-terminal sequence was very similar to those of other plant peroxidases. The peroxidase was characterized by a high specificity towards coniferyl alcohol and other natural phenolics such as guaiacol and ferulic and caffeic acids. These findings suggest that the enzyme is involved in lignification processes of the cell wall. Moreover, the enzyme was able to catalyse the oxidation of 4,3´,4´-trihydroxychalcone and 4,3´,4´-trihydroxy-3-methoxychalcone to the corresponding 3,3´-biflavanones, as mixtures of racemic and mesoforms.

309 Background: The long-term efficacy and tolerability of nivolumab (NIVO) 3 mg/kg + ipilimumab (IPI) 1 mg/kg Q3W × 4 doses followed by NIVO 3 mg/kg Q2W for previously untreated advanced RCC (aRCC) demonstrated in the registrational CheckMate 214 clinical trial was based on patients (pts) with a predominantly clear cell component. CheckMate 920 (NCT02982954) is a US community-based, multi-arm, phase IIIb/IV clinical trial of NIVO+IPI treatment in pts with previously untreated aRCC and clinical features mostly excluded from phase III trials. Here, we present the safety and efficacy results for the cohort of pts with nccRCC from CheckMate 920, a patient population with a poor prognosis and without a definitive effective treatment. Methods: Pts with previously untreated advanced/metastatic nccRCC, Karnofsky performance status ≥ 70%, and any International Metastatic Renal Cell Database Consortium risk received NIVO 3 mg/kg + IPI 1 mg/kg (NIVO3+IPI1) Q3W × 4 doses followed by NIVO 480 mg Q4W for ≤ 2 years or until disease progression/unacceptable toxicity. The primary endpoint was incidence of any-causality grade ≥ 3 immune-mediated adverse events (imAEs) within 100 days of last dose of study drug. Key secondary endpoints: progression-free survival (PFS) and objective response rate (ORR) by RECIST v1.1 (both per investigator), duration of response (DOR), and time to response (TTR). Exploratory endpoints included overall survival (OS). Results: Of 52 treated pts with nccRCC, 69.2% were men; median age was 64 years (range, 23–86), and 28.8% had sarcomatoid features. Histological subtypes were papillary (34.6%), chromophobe (13.5%), translocation associated (3.8%), collecting duct (3.8%), renal medullary (1.9%), or unclassified (42.3%). With 24.1 months minimum follow-up, median duration of therapy (range) was 3.5 months (0.0–25.8) for NIVO and 2.1 months (0.0–3.9) for IPI. Median (range) number of doses received was 4.5 (1–28) for NIVO and 4.0 (1–4) for IPI. No grade 5 imAEs occurred. Grade 3–4 imAEs (n = 52) by category were diarrhea/colitis (7.7%), rash (5.8%), nephritis and renal dysfunction (3.8%), hepatitis (1.9%), adrenal insufficiency (1.9%), and hypophysitis (1.9%). ORR (n = 46) was 19.6% (95% CI, 9.4–33.9). Two pts achieved complete response (papillary, n = 1; unclassified pathology, n = 1), 7 achieved partial response (papillary, n = 4; unclassified pathology, n = 3), and 17 pts had stable disease. Median TTR was 2.8 months (range, 2.1–4.8). Median DOR was not reached (range, 0.03+–27.8+); 8 of 9 responders remain without reported progression. Median PFS (n = 52) was 3.7 months (95% CI, 2.7–4.6). Median OS (n = 52) was 21.2 months (95% CI, 16.6–not reached). Conclusions: In pts with previously untreated nccRCC, a population with high unmet medical need, treatment with NIVO3+IPI1 Q3W followed by NIVO 480 mg Q4W showed no new safety signals, and encouraging antitumor activity. The objective was to evaluate the effect of different doses of equine chorionic gonadotrophin (eCG) on pregnancy (P/AI) and twin rates of beef heifers in a progesterone and oestradiol-based treatment (J-Synch protocol) for fixed-time AI (FTAI). A total of 1,404 Bos taurus beef heifers with a body condition score 4.8±0.5 (mean±s.e.m., scale 1–8) were used in three different locations. The presence of a corpus luteum (CL) was determined by ovarian ultrasonography (5.0MHz) at the beginning of the J-Synch protocol. On Day 0, the heifers received 2mg of oestradiol benzoate (intramuscular, IM) associated with an intravaginal device containing 0.5g of progesterone. At device removal, on Day 6, 500µg of cloprostenol sodium was administered IM and the females were randomly assigned to one of two experimental groups to receive 200 (n=702) or 300 (n=702) IU of eCG (Zoetis) IM. Heifers were also tail-painted. On Day 0 females with paint rubbed-off were FTAI 64 h after device removal, and those that remained with the paint received 8 μg of buserelin acetate 64 h after device removal to be FTAI 8 h later. FTAI was performed at 64 to 72h after device removal, and pregnancy diagnosis was performed by ultrasonography 30 to 35 days after insemination. Data were analysed by logistic regression using GLMM. The results are shown in Table 1. Pregnancy rate was not different between heifers treated with 200 or 300IU of eCG (P=0.513) and was not affected by the presence of CL at the beginning of the protocol (P=0.513). Twin rate was greater in heifers treated with 300IU than with 200IU of eCG (P=0.005), and it was not affected by the presence of CL (P=0.362). Interaction between eCG treatment and presence of CL was not significant for pregnancy or twin rates (P=0.532). In conclusion, although 300IU of eCG increased the twin rate compared with 200IU, no differences were found in P/AI. We suggest that the dose of eCG in the J-Synch protocol could be adjusted to 200IU in Bos taurus beef heifers. Table 1. This paper proposes a small-slot antenna system (50 mm × 9 mm × 2.7 mm) for 4 × 4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) on smart glasses devices. The antenna is set on the plastic temple, and the inverted F antenna radiates through the slot in the ground plane of the sputtered copper layer outside the temple. Two symmetrical antennas and slots on the same temple and series capacitive elements enhance the isolation between the two antenna ports. When both temples are equipped with the proposed antennas, 4 × 4 MIMO transmission can be achieved. The antenna substrate is made of polycarbonate (PC), and its thickness is 2.7 mm εr=2.85, tanδ=0.0092. According to the actual measurement results, this antenna has two working frequency bands when the reflection coefficient is lower than −10dB, its working frequency bandwidth at 4.58–5.72 GHz and 6.38–7.0 GHz. The proposed antenna has a peak gain of 4.3 dBi and antenna efficiency of 85.69% at 5.14 GHz. In addition, it also can obtain a peak gain of 3.3 dBi and antenna efficiency of 82.78% at 6.8 GHz. The measurement results show that this antenna has good performance, allowing future smart eyewear devices to be applied to Wi-Fi 5G (5.18–5.85 GHz) and Wi-Fi 6e (5.925–7.125 GHz).

2′-Deoxy-3′,5′-di-O-acetyl guanosine crystallizes in the triclinic space group [Formula: see text], and the cell dimensions are a = 8.643(1) Å, b = 10.122(1) Å, c = 10.391(1) Å, α = 87.04(1)°, β = 73.58(1)°, γ = 72.37(1)°, V = 830.4(2) Å3; Z = 2 molecules per cell. Least-squares refinement converged at R = 0.031 for 3450 observed reflections. The asymmetric unit consists of two independent molecules. The guanine bases are linked via N(1)—H … N(7) and N(2)—H … O(6) hydrogen bonds to form a virtually planar system. Moreover, the conformational preferences of the title compound in DMSO-d6 solution have been determined with 300 MHz 1H NMR. It is found that the X-ray structure and the solution conformation are essentially similar. The C(4′)—C(5′) linkage resides in the gauche+ (g+) or trans (t) rotamers in the solid state, while an approximately equal distribution over g+, t, and gauche− is found in solution.

Abstract This study evaluated the effects of replacing soybean meal (SBM) with DDGS and crystalline amino acids on growth, carcass lean, and carcass yield of finishing pigs. Pigs (n = 480; 83.1±0.35 kg) were blocked by BW and sex and assigned to 80 pens (3 gilts and 3 barrows/pen). Treatments were arranged as a 2×4 factorial with DDGS included at 0 or 20% and L-lysine·HCl (LYS) added at 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, or 0.6%. Diets were balanced for ideal protein and NE and contained 0.75% and 0.67% SID lysine for Phase 1 (21 days) and Phase 2 (to market, 13 or 20 days), respectively. Only 0.49% LYS was necessary to meet the SID lysine requirement for the highest LYS (0.6%) diet for Phase 2. As LYS increased, dietary SBM inclusion decreased from 21.75% to 2.85% (Phase 1) and 18.75% to 3.35% (Phase 2) for control diets. It decreased from 18.40% to 0% (Phase 1) and 15.40 to 0% (Phase 2) for DDGS diets. During Phase 1, DDGS decreased ADG (992 vs. 1039 g/d; P = 0.031) and ADFI (3424 vs. 3503 g/d; P = 0.061). Increasing LYS linearly decreased ADG (1031, 1037, 1035, 959 g/d; P=0.026) and G:F (299, 295, 298, 281 g/kg; P = 0.026). Treatments did not impact Phase 2 performance. Overall, DDGS reduced ADG (1098 vs. 1131 g/d; P = 0.048) and ADFI (3638 vs 3712 g/d; P = 0.070). Supplemental LYS linearly decreased ADG (1133, 1141, 1120, and 1064 g/d; P = 0.005) and G:F (310, 305, 304, and 295 g/kg; P = 0.006). ADFI increased quadratically (P = 0.002) with LYS within SBM control, but not DDGS (interaction; P = 0.009). Ultrasound loin-eye-area corrected for BW tended to decrease quadratically (48.3, 48.8, 49.1, 47.4 cm2; P = 0.060) with increasing LYS. DDGS reduced carcass yield (72.62 vs. 73.04%; P = 0.034). Replacement of SBM with DDGS and high amino acid inclusion negatively impacted growth performance and carcass yield of finisher pigs.

Resumen
A novel aromatic diamine containing pyridyl side group, 4-pyridine-4,4-bis(3,5-dimethyl-5-aminophenyl)methane (PyDPM), was successfully synthesized via electrophilic substitution reaction. The polyimides (PIs) containing pyridine were obtained via the microwave-assisted one-step polycondensation of the PyDPM with pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA), 3,3′,4,4′-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPDA), 3,3′,4,4′-diphenylether tetracarboxylic dianhydride (ODPA) and 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride (6FDA). Contrarily to the reported similar PIs, these PIs exhibit much higher thermal stability or heat resistance, i.e. high glass transition temperatures ( T g s) in the range of 358–473°C, and the decomposition temperatures at 5% weight loss over 476°C under nitrogen. They can afford flexible and strong films with tensile strength of 82.1–93.3 MPa, elongation at break of 3.7%–15.2%, and Young's modulus of 3.3–3.8 GPa. Furthermore, The PI films exhibit good optical transparency with the cut-off wavelength at 313–366 nm and transmittance higher than 73% at 450 nm. The excellent thermal and optical transmittance can be attributed to synthesis method and the introduction of pyridine rings and ortho-methyl groups. The inherent viscosities of PIs via one-step method were found to be 0.58–1.12 dl g −1 in DMAc, much higher than those via two-step method. These results indicate these PIs could be potential candidates for optical substrates of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).
