Resumen

The expansion of [¹⁸F]-radiolabelling methodologies is vital for the advancement of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) as a medical imaging tool. Novel protocols will simplify access to current PET tracers and allow development of original tracers, potentially enhancing the imaging quality or permit imaging of a wider range of clinical problems. A general introduction is presented in Chapter 1, covering PET, application of fluorine-19 in the pharmaceutical industry, the production of fluorine-18 and the current state-of -art for [¹⁸F]-radiolabelling. The results chapters are divided in to two parts; Part 1 (Chapters 2 - 4) concern the synthesis of [18F]fluoroarenes and Part II (Chapters 5 and 6) discuss diversity oriented radiofluorination techniques, targeting novel [¹⁸F]motifs. In Part I, Chapter 2 describes the use of hypervalent iodine reagents to meditate an umpolung approach for fluorination and radiofluorination of N-arylsulfonamides and anilides. Chapter 3 again utilises hypervalent iodine reagents, but as spirocyclic iodonium(III) ylide precursors, being applied to semi-automated and automated microfluidic conditions. Chapter 4 discusses the development of conditions for the production and isolation of radiopharmaceuticals employing Cu(II)-mediated radiofluorination of aryl boronic pinacol esters. In Part II, Chapter 5 discusses the applicability of halogen exchange reactions to reach polyfluorinated motfis and Chapter 6 focuses on the application of a single diazo precursor to access three polyfluorinated motifs with single-step reactions. Finally, Chapter 7 provides experimental data for compounds discussed in this thesis.

La présente thèse a pour objet la Bibliothèque de Photios de Constantinople (IXe siècle), recueil hétérogène de notices bio-bibliographiques et d’extraits d’auteurs. On approfondit l’intérêt géographique qui se manifeste dans de nombreux chapitres de cet ouvrage, et particulièrement dans les chapitres 213 et 250, qui portent sur Agatharchide de Cnide (IIe av. J. -Ch. ) et sur son traité Sur la Mer Rouge. Ce travail s’articule en trois parties. La première est une introduction à Agatharchide et à sa production (on s’occupe surtout de l’Asie de cet auteur et de son rôle de source pour Diodore de Sicile). La deuxième porte sur le texte : on y trouvera la traduction des chapitres 213 et 250 (il s’agit de la première traduction en langue italienne depuis celle de G. Compagnoni en 1836) et une mise en synopsis des extraits par Photios du livre V du traité Sur la Mer Rouge et du réemploi des mêmes matériaux par Diodore de Sicile (Bibliothèque historique, livre III). La troisième partie expose les résultats de ce travail : une étude de la géographie comme discipline, à partir d’une recherche sur les premières attestations du mot grec geographia et sur son évolution ; une évaluation de l’intérêt porté par Photios à la matière géographique ; une analyse de la structure de la Bibliothèque fondée sur les données de la synopsis. La nature du chapitre 250 permet de jeter la lumière sur le vrai caractère des notes de lecture de la Bibliothèque : il ne s’agit pas simplement d’informations et d’extraits inertes, mais de matériaux jaillis d’une activité d’enseignement, la composition desquels a fait l’objet de l’activité d’étude de Photios pendant toute sa vie
This thesis concerns the Bibliotheca of Photius of Constantinople (IX A. D. ), an heterogeneous collection of bio-bibliographical notes and extracts from Greek authors. We have studied the geographical interest coming out in many chapters of this work, and particularly in chapters 213 and 250, regarding Agatharchides of Cnidus (II B. C. ) and his treaty On the Erythraean Sea. Our work articulates in three parts. The first one is an introduction to Agatharchides and to its production (we have drown attention especially on the Asia of this author and on its role of source for Diodorus of Sicily). The second part deals with the text: it consists of an Italian translation of chapters 213 and 250 (the first one since that of G. Compagnoni, 1836) and a synopsis between Photius’ extracts of the work On the Erythraean Sea, book V and Diodorus’ reuse of the same materials (Bibliotheca Historica, book III). The third part exposes the results of this work: a study of geography as a discipline, based on a research on the first occurrences of the Greek word geographia and on its evolution; an examination of Photius’ interest in geographical subjects; an analysis of the structure of the Bibliotheca based on the data of the synopsis. The nature of chapter 250 allows to cast the light on the real nature of the reading notes composing the Bibliotheca: they are not simply pieces of information and mere extracts, but most of all they are materials coming from a teaching activity, whose composition is the result of a lifetime of study

Dans le cadre de sa politique réformatrice, le pouvoir impérial carolingien favorise le renouveau exégétique paulinien à travers l'œuvre de Claude de Turin (┼ ca 828). Ces commentaires de "spiritu et littera" sont marqués par les traditions scolaires et, dans la ligne des "Libri Carolini", par une théologie trinitaire hostile aux médiations sensibles du sacré. Le choix et le montage des citations - parfois objet d'une reformulation idéologique - confèrent à ces textes un profil doctrinal élitiste, matière d'une admonition spirituellement radicale et rappel de l'unique sainteté divine contre toute tentative d'appropriation de la virtus sanctifiante par la sacralité humaine. La méthode et le contenu des commentaires claudiens influencent certains auteurs des IXe et Xe siècles qui actualisent cette exégèse en fonction des débats en cours, malgré l'évolution routinière de ce genre littéraire à la fin de la période
According to its reformation policy, the Carolingian imperial power stimulates the revival of the Paulinian exegesis through Claudius of Turins Works. The de "spiritu et littera" commentaries have been influenced by scholastic traditions and, in line with the "libri Carolini", they expose a trinitarian thology that is opposed to the sensitive mediations of the sacred. The choice and the assembly of the quotations – sometimes with ideological changes – give to these texts an elitist doctrinal profile. It is a spiritual and radical admonitio that focuses on the unique divine sanctifying virtus. The methods and the contents of the Claudian commentaries have influenced some authors in the IXth and Xth centuries, but they made them to change because of the doctrinal debates, even if we can say that this kind of exegesis becomes more routine in the end of this period

Resumen

Association rule mining is one of the most popular data mining methods. However, mining association rules often results in a very large number of found rules, leaving the analyst with the task to go through all the rules and discover interesting ones. Sifting manually through large sets of rules is time consuming and strenuous. Although visualization has a long history of making large amounts of data better accessible using techniques like selecting and zooming, most association rule visualization techniques are still falling short when it comes to large numbers of rules. In this paper we introduce a new interactive visualization method, the grouped matrix representation, which allows to intuitively explore and interpret highly complex scenarios. We demonstrate how the method can be used to analyze large sets of association rules using the R software for statistical computing, and provide examples from the implementation in the R-package arulesViz. This research presents a new approach to derive recommendations for segment-specific, targeted marketing campaigns on the product category level. The proposed methodological framework serves as a decision support tool for customer relationship managers or direct marketers to select attractive product categories for their target marketing efforts, such as segment-specific rewards in loyalty programs, cross-merchandising activities, targeted direct mailings, customized supplements in catalogues, or customized promotions. The proposed methodology requires cus- tomers' multi-category purchase histories as input data and proceeds in a stepwise manner. It combines various data compression techniques and integrates an opti- mization approach which suggests candidate product categories for segment-specific targeted marketing such that cross-category spillover effects for non-promoted categories are maximized. To demonstrate the empirical performance of our pro- posed procedure, we examine the transactions from a real-world loyalty program of a major grocery retailer. A simple scenario-based analysis using promotion responsiveness reported in previous empirical studies and prior experience by domain experts suggests that targeted promotions might boost profitability between 15 % and 128 % relative to an undifferentiated standard campaign.

The development of a transgenerational orientation is one of the most significant challenges that family businesses face and only a small number actually survive across generations. While prior research has focused on the business unit to provide us with a solid understanding of how corporate governance affects business performance and continuity, the role of the business family in the development of a transgenerational orientation has received less attention. To address this gap, this article applies a new systems and social identity theory framework to examine how family governance and business family identity can contribute to strengthening the transgenerational orientation of the business. A transgenerational orientation is defined as a decision premise to maintain the family's control over the business across generations. Using a large data set, findings show that the presence of family governance measures and the business family's identity are positively related to a transgenerational orientation of the business, with business family identity acting as a mediator. Thus, the development of family governance measures can foster communication within the business family and enhance the family members' emotional investment in the business which strengthens the transgenerational orientation in the business. Aim Despite the country's explicit political goal to establish equivalent living conditions across Germany, significant inequality continues to exist. We argue that premature mortality is an excellent proxy variable for testing the claim of equivalent living conditions since the root causes of premature death are socioeconomic. Subject and methods We analyse variation in premature mortality across Germany's 402 districts and cities in 2014. Results Premature mortality spatially clusters among geographically contiguous and proximate districts/cities and is higher in more urban places as well as in districts/cities located further north and in former East Germany. We demonstrate that, first, socioeconomic factors account for 62% of the cross-sectional variation in years of potential life lost and 70% of the variation in the premature mortality rate. Second, we show that these socioeconomic factors either entirely or almost fully eliminate the systematic spatial patterns that exist in premature mortality. Conclusion On its own, fiscal redistribution, the centrepiece of how Germany aspires to establish its political goal, cannot generate equivalent living conditions in the absence of a comprehensive set of economic and social policies at all levels of political administration, tackling the disparities in socioeconomic factors that collectively result in highly unequal living conditions.

La thèse se propose de restituer la position de Patriarcat de Constantinople face aux derniers empereurs byzantins et aux premiers sultans ottomans. Elle analyse la destinée dans le monde orthodoxe du Syntagma de Matthieu Blastarès (1335), code de droit civil et canonique qui définit une subtile hiérarchie entre les pouvoirs politique et religieux. Ce code devient progressivement un document officiel du Patriarcat et connaît jusqu'au XVIIe siècle une large diffusion à Byzance, dans les Balkans, en Valachie, en Moldavie et en Russie. Par l'utilisation de cette oeuvre, le Patriarcat s'efforce de faire reconnaître ses prérogatives auprès des Etats orthodoxes et de l'Empire ottoman. Les principautés roumaines qui perpétuent leur existence sous la suzeraineté ottomane et produisent une littérature politique influencée par ce code, constituent un cadre privilégié pour analyser les continuités et les discontinuités affectant le statut du patriarcat à cette époque
The thesis is revisiting the position of the patriarchate of Constantinople towards the last Byzantine emperors and the first ottoman sultans. The starting point is an analysis of Matthew Blastares 'Syntagma, a code of civil and canon law which proposes a subtle hierarchy between the political and the religious power. This code became progressively an official document of the patriarchate, enjoying until the 17th century a large diffusion in Byzantium, in the Balkans, in Romanian and Russian principalities. Using this work, the patriarchate attempted to reinforce its rank in relation with the Orthodox states and the ottoman empire. The romanian principalities, preserving their existence under the Ottoman suzerainty and producing a political literature influenced by this code, are a privileged case study for analysing the continuities and the discontinuities suffered by the patriarchate in this period of transition

Cette thèse est consacrée à l'étude des diplômes royaux de Louis le Germanique (t 876), roi en Francie orientale (833-876). Il s'agissait avant tout d'explorer les linéaments d'une évolution fondamentale pour l'histoire européenne: l'individualisation de la Francie orientale. Mais poser cette question supposait de s'appuyer sur une documentation dont deux des traits principaux ont guidé la démarche de cette thèse: le rôle éminent de l'écrit dans l'expression du pouvoir royal au IXe siècle, tout d'abord, et donc l'attention accordée par ses acteurs aux formes et aux conséquences de l'instrumentation des décisions; la longue chaîne ensuite qui relie ces traces écrites du pouvoir aux historiens qui les examinent aujourd'hui. Les diplômes ont ainsi été étudiés sous trois angles différents: historique, diplomatique et historiographique. Lorsque cela s'avérait pertinent, ils ont été comparés avec les actes des autres rois carolingiens, particulièrement ceux de Charles le Chauve (840-877). Pour comprendre l'évolution de la documentation diplomatique du IXe siècle, il fallut d'abord retracer celle des conditions de production des actes (partie I). Il importa ensuite de retourner à la source, c'est-à-dire d'examiner attentivement les diplômes royaux (partie II). Enfin, une analyse des éditions critiques des actes, publiées aux XIXe-XXe siècles et qui sont les intermédiaires privilégiés entre la source et 1 'historien, vint compléter ce travail (partie III). Notre étude permet de conclure à une évolution distincte des diplômes royaux qui est le reflet d'un projet politique cohérent: la création d'un royaume de Francie orientale par Louis le Germanique

Resumen

La thèse étudie le renouvellement des contacts arméno-byzantins à l'époque de la restauration de l'autonomie arménienne sous l'egide du prince Ashot Bagratuni (820?-890). Elle analyse les documents anciens relatifs au concile de Shirakawan (862) convoqué par le catbolicos Zacharie de Jagk ́(855-876), et à la controverse christologique arméno-byzantine qui suivit ce concile. Elle clarifie le contexte historique des contacts, analyse la forme littéraire et le langage technique des documents constituant le dossier avec la référence à la littérature théologique arménienne et byzantine précédente; les procédés rhétoriques employés par les auteurs, ainsi que les éléments étymologiques et phraséologiques sur lesquels ces procédés sont fondés. Cette analyse permet de situer le dossier en question dans le contexte plus large de la littérature théologique arménienne et d'idenlitier l'auteur du "Discours de Vahan" comme un Arménien non-chalcédonien. Le corpus des canons promulgués par le concile est interprété comme une tentative jointe des Arméniens et des Byzantins d'empêcher une conversion de convenance à l'Eglise impériale des monophysites habitant à l'est de l'Asie Mineure. La thèse propose une comparaison du "Discours de Vahan" et de la lettre de Sahak Mrut à Photius avec d'autres textes théologiques arméniens contemporains. Cette comparaison permet de discerner les différentes tendances existant dans la théologie arménienne de l'époque. L'identification des autorités théologiques sur lesquelles les auteurs du neuvième siècle se sont appuyés permet d'étudier la réception de doctrines au sein de l'Eglise arménienne et de préciser les bases doctrinales qui ont permis à cette Eglise de stabiliser sa position christologique dans la période qui a suivi les grandes controverses christologiques en Arménie. La thèse offre la traduction française du dossier en question, accompagnée du lexique arménien-grec-français contenant 250 termes
The thesis investigates the renewal of the Armenia-Byzantine relationships during the period of the restoration of the Armenian autonomy under the pertaining of the prince Ashot Bagratuni, 820?-890. It analyses the Armenian documents pertaining to the council of Shirakawan (862), convoked by the catholicos Zachary of Jagk' (855-876), and to the Byzantino-Armenian christological controversy which followed that council. It clarifies the historical setting of these events, explores the literary form and the technical language of the Armenian documents with the reference to the earlier Armenian and Byzantine theological literature: the rhetorical procedures employed by their authors, as well as the etymologic and phraseoligical elements upon which these procedures are founded. This analysis allows to situate these documents in a wider context of the Armenian theological literature and to identify the author of "Vahan's Discourse" as a non-Chalcedonian Armenian. The corpus of the canons promulgated by the council is interpreted as a joint Byzantino-Armenian attempt to hinder the insincere conversion of the Monophysites from the East of Asia Minor into the imperial Church. The thesis proposes a comparison of "Vahan's Discourse" and of Sahak M°rut's letter to Photius with other contemporary Armenian theological texts. This comparison allows to discern different trends existing in the Armenian theology of that period. The identification of the theological authorities upon which the authors of the ninth century leant allows to study the reception of doctrines in the Armenian Church and to precise the doctrinal bases that enabled this Church to stabilise its christological positions in the period following the great christological controversies in Armenia. The thesis offers a French translation of the documents, accompanied with an Armenian-Greek-French lexicon containing 250 terms

Resumen

This research is a cross-Atlantic study of Sure Start and Early Head Start program directors' perceptions of parent involvement in their early intervention programs, with a focus on the provision and take-up of parenting and employability-focused services. The review of the literature, which informed the survey design and the later data chapters, focuses on poverty and parenting, working parents, welfare reform, and early intervention programs, including early childhood education and care policies in England and the United States. Data was collected via an online survey, administered to all those individuals directing either a Sure Start Local Programme (including those that had been designated as Children's Centres) in England or an Early Head Start program in the USA. There was a 40.3% response rate (231 English and 236 American directors, resulting in a total of 467 respondents). The survey questioned directors on their background, and also sought their views of the area in which their program operated, characteristics of their programs and their perceptions of the families accessing the parent-focused services offered by their early intervention program. The resulting data was used to address the primary theme of parenting and employability, drawing associations between reported parent involvement and directors' perceptions of area, program and family characteristics. The findings also led to the establishment of secondary themes: the targeting and catchment area approach to service provision, engaging disadvantaged families, relationships with partner agencies, issues of funding and resources, particularly for staff, and the expansion of Children's Centres. A summary report was sent to all participating directors. It is hoped that this research has benefited program directors, providing insights into the local-level experiences had by their colleagues both within their own country and across the Atlantic, particularly with respect to parent involvement in early intervention programs.

Resumen

Le point de départ de cette thèse est l'intérêt porté aux constructions idéologiques contenues dans les rares textes exégétiques carolingiens étudies jusqu'ici par les historiens. Le texte choisi est Ie "Commentaire sur Osée" (l'un des douze Petits prophètes de l' Ancien Testament) d'Haymon d' Auxerre. La seule édition disponible de ce texte date du XV Ie siècle; il a donc fallu réaliser une nouvelle édition critique: c'est l'objet du tome I de la thèse. En deuxième lieu (tome II), et sur la base de l'édition du Commentaire, on s'est attaque a la question de l'existence d'une ecclésiologie de contenu "politique". On y étudie les relations des différents secteurs de la société carolingienne, et surtout de leur fonction, dans le contexte d'un texte prophétique de la Bible attache à dénoncer les déviances du "peuple élu". A l'analyse, on constate que la pensée d'Haymon offre une lecture particulière du dualisme politique de saint Augustine, sous la forme de développements proprement carolingiens et surtout monastiques des idées du père de l'Eglise, au point qu I'on peut se demander si cette version du dualisme augustinien n'a pas préparé la voie aux hérésies dualistes post-carolingiennes (spécialement Ie catharisme). II s'est donc agi, dans cette recherche doctorale, de faire une exégèse ecclésiologique (donc idéologique et politique) des commentaires bibliques carolingiens.
