Abstract:
Ključna ideja i opredeljenost za istraživanje proizlazi iz aktuelnosti potrebe za ispitivanjem efekata metodologija usmerenih na učenika. Cilj istraživanja jeste da se utvrde stavovi i mišljenja nastavnika, roditelja i učenika o socijalnim i afektivnim efektima primene elemenata Programa „Korak po korak” u Republici Srbiji, kao i da se ispitaju interpersonalni odnosi među učenicima, koji predstavljaju indikatore socijalnih i afektivnih efekata nastave. S obzirom na kompleksnost postavljenog istraživačkog cilja, rezultati i diskusija predstavljeni su kroz dve studije: prva studija odnosi se na procene nastavnika, roditelja i učenika osnovnoškolskog uzrasta o socijalnim i afektivnim efektima nastave, a uzorak obuhvata 1617 ispitanika. Druga studija sprovedena je radi utvrđivanja interpersonalnih odnosa među učenicima, a uzorak obuhvata 788 učenika osnovnoškolskog uzrasta. Primenjeni instrumenti su upitnik u formi Likertove skale o socijalnim i afektivnim efektima nastave i sociometrijski upitnik. Dobijeni rezultati pokazuju da nastavnici koji primenjuju elemente Programa „Korak po korak” imaju statistički značajno više vrednosti aritmatičke sredine na tvrdnjama koje se odnose na socijalne efekte u odnosu na nastavnike koji ovaj program ne primenjuju. Sociometrijskim ispitivanjem potvrđeno je da su pozitivni izbori učenika učestaliji, a negativni izbori manje učestali u odeljenjima u kojima se primenjuju elementi Programa „Korak po korak” u odnosu na odeljenja u kojima se elementi ovog programa ne primenjuju. Zaključuje se da dobijeni rezultati potvrđuju naučnu opravdanost primene metodologija usmerenih na dete, kao što je to Program „Korak po korak”. Implikacije ovog istraživanja mogu se posmatrati na makro nivou (republika, pokrajina, lokalna zajednica) i na mikro nivou (škola, odeljenja) obrazovanja u Srbiji.

Autorke polaze od činjenice da su današnja deca, koliko i odrasli, pozvana da uče ekološki, da misle, osećaju i deluju razumevajući duboku povezanost i delikatnu uslovljenost ljudskih i prirodnih sistema. Pedagoški osmišljeno vođenje ovih procesa nude ekološko-humanistički programi usmereni na izgrađivanje saosećanja, ličnog stava, ekološkog kritičkog mišljenja i sposobnosti da se o ekološkim, socijalnim, tehnološkim i drugim problemima čovečanstva zajednički misli i na osnovu procene rizika kontrolisano deluje. Neke od ovih dimenzija već u predškolskom detinjstvu razvija i neguje program “Mi smo Zemljani”. Program se više od dve decenije realizuje u različitim sredinama. Zasnovan je na eko-humanističkim filozofskim postavkama novijeg datuma i zahtevima savremenog obrazovanja sa uporištem u socio-kulturnoj teoriji i konstruktivističkim strategijama učenja. On deci omogućava da se emocionalno, socijalno, intelektualno i stvaralački angažuju kroz zajedničke projekte sa vršnjacima, vaspitačima i roditeljima izgrađujući temeljna ekološka i humanistička saznanja i uverenja već na predškolskom uzrastu.

Abstract:
To avoid a negative impact on human health, Lithuania, alike other countries, pays full attention to reducing noise in the environment. One of the implemented actions against noise sources and the way to reduce it is a composition of strategic maps. Research focuses on the performance of modelling noise dispersion employing CadnaA and IMMI software and proposes the analysis of the actuarial reliability of the above-mentioned programs. The dispersion of the noise generated by railway transport has been modelled in the dwelling area of Klaipeda railway station. The chosen zone covers a sector of 500 m in length and is situated at the distance of 150–200 m from this sector. Modelling noise dispersion maps applying both programs displayed that the maximum level of noise caused by day and night railway transport was registered near railway during both periods of time and varied from 75 to 80 dBA, whereas at the locations of 150–200 m that are more distant from the railway line, the level of noise gradually reduces and reaches the level of 35–50 dBA in cases CadnaA or IMMI programs are introduced. Program STATISTICA along with Mann Whitney U and Kolmogorov–Smirnov D non-parametric statistical tests were used for assessing the actuarial reliability of modelling programs used for noise dispersion. The obtained data indicate that the level of significance p was not exceeding the value of 0.05 in all cases. Santrauka Lietuvoje, kaip ir kitose šalyse, daug dėmesio skiriama triukšmui aplinkoje mažinti siekiant išvengti jo neigiamo poveikio sveikatai, aplinkos kokybei. Viena iš triukšmo ir jo poveikio mažinimo priemonių yra strateginių žemėlapių sudarymas. Tyrimo tikslas – atlikti triukšmo sklaidos modeliavimą programomis CadnaAir IMMI bei pateikti šių programų statistinio patikimumo analizę. Modeliuojama geležinkelio transporto triukšmo sklaida Klaipėdos geležinkelio stoties gyvenamojoje teritorijoje 500 m ilgio geležinkelio ruože ir per 150–200 m nuo jo. Modeliuojant geležinkelio transporto dieną ir naktį sukeliamo triukšmo sklaidą nustatyta, jog abiem nagrinėtais laikotarpiais abiejų programų pateiktuose triukšmo sklaidos žemėlapiuose didžiausias triukšmo lygis – nuo 75 iki 80 dBA fiksuojamas šalia geležinkelio bėgių. Tolstant nuo bėgių, triukšmo lygis tolygiai mažėja, 150–200 m atstumu siekia 35–50 dBA ir CadnaA, ir IMMI triukšmo sklaidos modeliuose – ir dieną, ir naktį. Triukšmo sklaidos modeliavimo programų patikimumas vertintas programa STATISTICA bei Mann Whitney U ir Kolmogorov–Smirnov D neparametrinės statistikos testais. Šie rodė, jog reikšmingumo lygmuo p visais atvejais neviršijo 0,05 reikšmės. Todėl teigiama, kad abiejų modeliavimo programų pateikti rezultatai patikimi.

Integrating biological-based fungicides into conventional spray programs may help with fungicide resistance management. However, little is known about how to best integrate these products while still maintaining maximum disease control. Programs with as few as one synthetic fungicide or as many as three synthetic fungicides added to a biopesticide-based rotation during the bloom period of Vitis vinifera had significantly better disease control than a biopesticide-only-based program. When integrated with different timings of fruit-zone leaf removal, specific combinations of biopesticide programs and fruit-zone leaf removal enhanced the efficacy of that program to be on par with disease control seen in a program entirely based on synthetic fungicides. This suggests that when designing a fungicide program using biopesticides as a base, the addition of a synthetic fungicide during the window of ontogenic susceptibility in clusters and the adoption of cultural practices such as leaf removal can significantly improve the efficacy of that program. Abstract:
This paper offers an up-to-date review of Enterprise Zone programs across states in the U.S. An Enterprise Zone program often focuses on target locations, populations, and/or industries. Enterprise Zone program designs and implementations vary between states. The expected outcomes are likely to differ from the desired outcome, which is to revitalize Enterprise Zone areas. This paper also provides a review of the existing Enterprise Zone empirical literature on program effectiveness assessments. There are conflicting recommendations, even for the same Enterprise Zone program. To assess whether research design contributes to this situation, the paper explores several research design factors, including outcome measure, time span, spatial unit, data choice, and control of endogeneity. Information on these research factors in the existing literature is collected and coded. Descriptive and correlation analyses suggest that outcome measure, spatial unit, post-program time span, and the choice of an endogeneity control method have significant impacts on program effectiveness assessments.

Abstract:
The present paper aims at presenting the introduction of the Flexible Zone program in the context of the Greek Educational system, an innovative, modern teaching program. More specifically, Greek teachers’ views on the implementation process, the legislative framework, and the roles of the school head teacher and the school counselor, as well as the difficulties tackled regarding the Flexible Zone programs are thoroughly explored through this study. In order to investigate and better interpret the findings, quantitative research was adopted with questionnaires from 135 teachers having been collected, numbered, coded, and analyzed. Topics such as the importance of in-school seminars and training sessions related to Flexible Zone programs, the significance of the head teacher, school counselor, and the school activities supervisor’s contribution, the development of the school equipment and infrastructure, as well as the overall cooperation have emerged from the findings. The present study can offer valuable insights regarding the innovative program of Flexible Zone to the international academic community and policy makers.

The traffic around the schools is one of the worst events for sustainability. The effects are heavy for pollution, for safety deriving from multiplied walk-car cross, for autonomy reduced for student. This paper discusses on Green and Safety School program that realizes Limited Traffic Zones (LTZ) around the schools. Calabria Region has made political and technical decisions oriented towards sustainable development, according to international, European and national targets: by Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), the Region has implemented several ways for realization of the planned measures relative to the urban centres defined by Action 2 Urban areas; by School Plan and program the Region has invested to reduce the vulnerability of school building. The aim of Green and Safety School program is offering a new and never developed field for social, economic and environmental sustainability in urban areas and to propose a strategy for traffic control near schools from basic considerations regarding a problem common of all cities around the world. This program derives from the results obtained with two different previously implemented programs: one relative to the rebuild of school who reduce risk (Scuola Sicura) and another one to the City logistics (leaving from RTP). From an advanced synthesis of these 2 programs born the very new use of LTZ. Green and Safety School is oriented to guarantee green areas and to reduce risk outside school. Even if the program leaves before COVID-19, it assumes significant importance to guarantee social distancing.

Introduction: Acquired brain injury (ABI) is a common cause of social cognition deficits and psychosocial challenges in adolescents. A group intervention program was designed to support teens with chronic ABI. Method: Quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted to examine participants' self-knowledge and satisfaction with the program. Results: Results revealed that participants and parents valued increased self-knowledge and an understanding of brain injuries, the focus on friendships and individual strengths, and feelings of togetherness and not being judged. Discussion: Support for strength-based, project-oriented, group intervention programs for adolescents with ABI and directions for future research are discussed.

‘Miniverde’ bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. × C. transvaalensis (Burtt-Davy)] and ‘Diamond’ zoysiagrass [Zoysia matrella (L.) Merr.] are becoming more widely used on putting greens in the transition zone. Field studies were conducted from June through Aug. 2008 and 2009 in Raleigh, NC, and in Jackson Springs, NC, respectively. The objective was to determine the influence of granular fertilizer programs consisting of various nitrogen (N) sources and rates on the establishment of ‘Miniverde’ and ‘Diamond’ from sprigs. In 2008, the experimental area consisted of a putting green built to U.S. Golf Association (USGA) recommendations [85 sand:15 peat (v/v)]. A native sandy-soil putting green was used in 2009. Fertilizer programs consisting of stabilized urea, polymer-coated urea, and a combination of stabilized urea and activated sewage sludge were initiated 1 week after planting (WAP). Nitrogen rates ranged from 12 to 48 kg·ha−1/week. Nitrogen source and rate differentially influenced turf color and establishment. The combination program increased color of both grasses to an acceptable level earlier than other programs. Coverage rates of both grasses under the combination program were significantly higher than other programs across both years. Despite having the most total N applied, the polymer-coated urea program did not significantly enhance bermudagrass and zoysiagrass color or establishment compared with other programs. Increasing the N rate of stabilized urea from 12 to 24 kg·ha−1/week did not increase establishment for either grass. This research indicates that ‘Miniverde’ bermudagrass and ‘Diamond’ zoysiagrass planted in the summer can be completely established from sprigs in the transition zone using granular fertilizer. However, turfgrass color and coverage may vary depending on N sources and rates within the fertilizer program.

The authors take up two questions that have not been explored in research on enterprise zones. First, does a considerably longer-run perspective on the effects of state enterprise zones lead to different answers? And second, are there heterogeneous effects of enterprise zones that depend on the set of incentives these programs offer, which can vary widely? The results indicate that whether state enterprise zone programs were observed through a longer-term lens, or through the lens of program heterogeneity, the authors generally did not find any consistent indication of beneficial effects of state enterprise zone programs; if anything, the longer-run effects are negative. The lack of positive effects is consistent with most of the prior evidence that focuses on effects that are short term and homogeneous.

Abstract:
The article discusses the current state of forest land, the history of formation of large tracts of forest in the Samara region and analyses some of the results of implementation of target programs to improve the forest cover in the region under the Kyoto Protocol. This program was designed for the period from 2006 to 2015, but in 2009 was discontinued. However, large segment of assets was allocated and a number of works was carried out. Currently the objectives of the programme to increase the forest cover in the territory of Samara region through the creation of tracts of forest are not achieved. Tree and shrub plantations play an important role in reducing the activity of processes of erosion, prevent degradation and desertification. Therefore, the problem of increasing forest cover, especially in the steppe zone of the region, to the level of the preindustrial era remains relevant and requires science-based measures for their solution.

Abstract An extensive program of drain construction, stream channelization and diversion, begun in the early 1900s, expanded the area of cultivated, arable land within the Dauphin Lake basin. The developed drainage network altered flows, shortened natural streams, eliminated aquatic habitats, and caused channel erosion. The Stream Rehabilitation Program was developed in 1992 to rehabilitate riparian zones and unstable stream reaches within the seven major tributaries of the watershed. The rehabilitation strategy included stream condition assessments, improvement of the channel stability and aquatic habitats by reintroducing pool and riffle sequences, and involvement of landowners in the design and implementation of their on-farm riparian rehabilitation plans. Between 1993 and 1996, 36 km of straightened channels were rehabilitated using pool and riffle sequences, and 14 cooperating livestock producers implemented new farm layouts and practices. Under a signed stewardship agreement, landowners committed to maintain the project works and a minimum 10-m riparian corridor for at least 10 years. The Stream Rehabilitation Program has been adopted as a model for other watershed level management programs throughout Manitoba. The program has raised public awareness of fisheries, wildlife, recreation, agriculture and land stewardship issues.

Abstract:
The level of noise and its dispersion was evaluated at Klaipeda State Seaport enterprise of JSC KLASCO. Investigation was carried out at 24 measuring points located in the enterprise territory and at 6 measuring points in a residential area. Sources of noise are evaluated. Reasons of a higher noise level than that presented in the hygienic norms and possible causes of its occurance in the territory of the enterprise and in the neighbouring residential zone. Noise‐decreasing means are suggested. From the proposed methods one can see that with CadnaA program, exessive noise levels are abtainable for the enterprise territory and residential zone. The achieved measuring results differ from those received with CadnaA program by 10–15%. The investigation results are presented as noise distribution determined with CadnaA program. Santrauka Įvertinamas triukšmo lygis ir jo sklaida Klaipėdos valstybinio jūrų uosto kompanijoje AB KLASCO. Ekvivalentinio triukšmo tyrimai atlikti 24 matavimo vietose, išdėstytose zonomis įmonės teritorijoje ir 6 matavimo vietose gyvenamojoje aplinkoje. Sukūrus triukšmo sklaidos nuo geležinkelio transporto į gyvenamąją aplinką modelį pasiūlyta apsaugos priemonė – automobilių transporto, laivų ir geležinkelio keliamo triukšmo sklidimą mažinančios sienelės. Pagal pateiktą metodiką CadnaA programa gaunami triukšmo lygių viršijimai įmonės ir gyvenamojoje teritorijoje. Matavimų ir CadnaA programos rezultatai skiriasi apie 10–15 %. Rezultatai pateikiami triukšmo sklaidą sumodeliavus pagal CadnaA programą. Резюме Представлена оценка уровня шума, а также его распространение на предприятии Клайпедского государственного морского порта АО «КЛАСКО». Исследования шума проводились в 24 местах, расположенных по зонам, на территории предприятия, а в 6 местах на территории окружной жилой зоны были проведены измерения эквивалентного шума. При помощи моделирования предложено средство, уменьшающее распространение шума от железнодорожного транспорта и морских судов в жилую среду. Это барьеры. Используя на основании предложенной методики программу “CadnaA“, были получены данные о превышении уровня шума на предприятии и в жилой зоне.

The drive for robust, accurate and cost-effective methods for biomass estimation over large areas is ever great with the launch of carbon crediting mechanisms in the developing countries such as UN-REDD [United Nations Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation] and climate change mitigation program. Traditional ground based measurement requires abundant manpower, resources, cost and time. Remote sensing based technologies pertinently answer the need of time in enhancing the successful implementation of such programs. The region growing and valley following algorithm used to delineate individual tree crowns produced a segmentation accuracy of 59.35% and 54.83%, respectively. Both algorithms have similar approaches for delineation. Above ground biomass was calculated using allometric equation form and height, diameter measured from the field. Linear regression models were applied to derive the relation of biomass with crown projection area, field measured height with biomass. All models were significant at 95% confidence level and the lowest Root Mean Square Error (RMSE %) of 27.45 % (Shorea robusta) and 33.33% (others species). The total amount of biomass stocks was approximately 30620 Kg/ha-1. For forest fire hazard zonation an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was used .The result show that 11% of the study area falls under very low fire risk zone, 55 % falls under low fire risk zone and 30 % falls under moderate fire potential zone while 4% of area falls under high forest fire risk zone. The map is also validated through major past fire incidents. The results show that the predicted fire zones are found to be in good agreement with past fire incidents, and hence, the map can be used for future forest resources management.

This research found that environmental problems in STZ are leachate, gas from landfill without a treatment system, environmental accidents and harmful insects. Most popular diseases types in STZ staffs are ear-nose-throat disease (43% in 2005 and 58% in 2000), and eye disease (28% in 2005 and 26% in 2006). Research proposes environment-health-safety management programs available for STZ including supply of personal protective equipments, development of guidelines, capacity building, and health care.

International education is growing among American students. In the past two decades, the number of students studying abroad has more than tripled. Research has provided evidence that students who participate in study abroad are more likely to have a variety of career prospects and are more aware socially and culturally. In a world where nurses will be providing care for an increasingly diverse population, cultural awareness and improved interaction with people of different cultures is invaluable. A faculty member with education abroad experience at a mid-size university in the southern United States developed a study abroad program for the summer of 2019 to Ikaria, Greece. This program centered around the concept of Blue Zones, areas of the world identified as having the largest population of centenarians, or people that have lived for longer than 100 years. This article outlines the process of development of the program and the course associated with the program. There is information about course description, course objectives, grading procedures, course activities, and a schedule of activities that students participated in while abroad. Student response to this education abroad experience was very positive. Students have reported that they attempt to implement the nine concepts into their everyday lives since returning, and the impact that this program and other education abroad programs has had, is profound.

Many modern zoos strive to create connections between guests and animals through animal visitor interaction (AVI) programs. However, there has been relatively little research into the effect of AVI programs on the welfare of program animals. Previous research has revealed three factors that may affect AVI program animal welfare: species differences, handling and transport, and the provision of choice and control. We assessed the effects of an AVI program designed with these factors in mind on the behavior of a flock (N = 16) of zoo-housed domestic chickens (Gallus gallus). Behavioral data were collected on program days and on non-program (control) days, and we considered the time leading up to the program, the program itself, and the time immediately following the program. When comparing flock behavior on program days to control days, we found no differences in behavioral indicators of welfare during the time leading up to the program and during the program. Rates of aggression, however, were significantly greater after the program had concluded compared to the same time period on matched control days, but still occurred infrequently. Additionally, we recorded the spatial location of each animal while the program occurred and found that the chickens did not spend significantly more or less time in the feeding zone as visitor participation increased, although there were individual differences within the flock. We conclude that the relatively small behavioral changes seen were not indicative of a change in welfare and consider those results in the context of the program design.

Broj dece koja imaju socijalne i emocionalne poteškoće konstantno raste. Socio-emocionalni problemi i problemi u ponašanju mogu predstavljati rizik za pojavu ozbiljnijih poremećaja u kasnijem životu. Pored toga, deca sa problemima u ponašanju i nedovoljno razvijenim socio-emocionalnim kompetencijama imaju tendenciju da se teže uključuju u vršnjačku interakciju, a ponekad su čak isključena iz socijalnih aktivnosti. Mnoga deca sa osnovnim socio-emocionalnim problemima i problemima u ponašanju kojima nedostaje formalna dijagnoza, kao što su npr. poremećaji autističnog spektra, ne dobijaju nužno nikakvu pomoć ili intervenciju, dok istovremeno predstavljaju izazov sa kojim ni roditelji ni vaspitači ne mogu da se nose. Deca su tako izložena riziku i zbog toga se čini neophodnim istražiti i razumeti koje su moguće intervencije za podršku socijalnom i emocionalnom razvoju dece predškolskog uzrasta. Intervencija na predškolskom uzrastu može biti usmerena na roditelje kroz različite programe podrške, edukacijem kao i na decu putem obuke, u vidu različitih oblika intervencija zasnovanih na igri; ali, istovremeno i na roditelje i na decu.

BACKGROUND: Although all environments whom applied smoke-free zones (SFZs) have sufficient compliance rate (over 80%) in Indonesia particularly in Bogor City, it is still unclear who is doing what now on SFZs activities to assess the effectivity and efficiency of this tobacco control program. OBJECTIVES: This review aimed to present the evidence of tobacco control on SFZs programs and activities of these zones based on the several indicators set by the local government’s regulation. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A review was held to observe the SFZs local regulation archives. Data were derived from secondary sources and observation data of law enforcement teams’ generic activities and programs in Bogor City in the Province of Jawa Barat, Indonesia. RESULTS: There were eight (eight) zones designated as SFZs according to the local regulation, namely: (1) Public places, (2) workplaces, (3) places of worship, (4) children’s playgrounds and/or other gathering places, (5) public transportation, (6) teaching and learning environments, (7) health facilities, and (8) sports facilities. It resulted that 55% of these zones still uncomplied to SFZs regulation. It is still a tobacco control homework in Indonesia while it is remembering that Indonesia has the only largest country of six developing countries that have not ratified Framework Convention on Tobacco Control of the World Health Organization. CONCLUSION: The role of the SFZs’ enforcement team is crucial and consists of relevant stakeholders to optimize activities and programs of SFZs regulations with clear targeting, rewards, and punishments. However, further studies are needed to determine the effectiveness of non-smoking areas specifically.

AbstractColorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death in the USA, yet is highly preventable and detectable at an early stage through screening. Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) implemented a worksite colon cancer awareness program to increase colorectal cancer screening rates and preventive lifestyle behaviors among its employees. The Colon Cancer–Free Zone program is designed using best practice principles of worksite health programs and includes information sessions covering the topics of colorectal cancer, screening guidelines, insurance coverage, and preventive lifestyle behaviors. It is conducted in a campaign format that includes a strategic communication strategy targeting relevant screening barriers and facilitators, peer champions, and incentives. The program was implemented with VCE employees statewide utilizing a web-based system for the information sessions, and resulted in broad participation, a significant increase in screening self-efficacy (4.15 ± 0.64 vs 3.81 ± 0.76, ρ = 0.006), changes in diet and physical activity (50% and 40% of participants, respectively), and a 20.6% increase in the employee colorectal cancer screening rate. A Colon Cancer–Free Zone toolkit was developed for use by Extension Agents to implement the program at worksites in their service communities.

U istraživanju je učestvovao 101 student Filozofskog fakulteta, a korišćeni instrument kreiran je za potrebe ovog istraživanja. Dobijeni rezultati pokazali su da studenti uočavaju značaj delovanja Centra za podršku studentima, kao i lične benefite koje mogu dobiti kroz ovakvu vrstu podrške. Ipak, rezultati sugerišu potrebu intenzivnijeg rada na promociji Centra, kao i na motivisanju studenata za uključivanjem u aktivnosti koje mogu da im pruže dodatne informacije i korisno iskustvo. A student training program, Engineering Seismology and Seismic Microzonation for Seismic Site Effects Assessment, was held 18–22 January 2020 in Lalitpur, Nepal. It was created through the collaboration of Thammasat University and Tribhuvan University, with support from Geoscientists Without Borders® (GWB). The goal of the program was to connect students with modern geophysical instrumentation and software through training. It specifically advanced theoretical and hands-on field-based knowledge pertaining to geotechnical earthquake engineering aspects and applications. The training served as part of a broader GWB project, Seismic Site Effects Study in Nepal, encompassing basin geometry, site characteristics, and the study of seismic site effects through microtremor measurements in Kathmandu Valley.

Radio je prvi elektronski medij masovnog komuniciranja čija je struktura u tehničko-tehnološkom smislu konačno oformljena u prvim decenijama 20. veka, čime su omogućeni uslovi da se njime masovno distribuiraju auditivne poruke u oblikovanim radio programima. Svakako najznačajnija imena koja su doprinela razvoju radija su: Nikola Tesla, Guglielmo Marconi, Lee De Forest i drugi istraživači. Razvoj medija masovne komunikacije doveo je do velikih i trajnih kulturnih promena koje su se odrazile i na promene u vaspitanju. Kao pedagozi, svesni smo koliku moć imaju mediji i da su upravo mediji ti koji su umnogome promenili ponašanje dece i roditelja u odnosu na prethodne generacije. Period od 1929. do 1940. predstavlja period kada razvoj radija kao masovnog medija doživljava svoju ekspanziju, kako u svetu, tako i u Kraljevini Jugoslaviji, gde je radio program pokrenut 24. marta 1929. u Beogradu. U ovom radu dati su rezultati do kojih se došlo analizom obimnog programskog sadržaja emitovanog na Radio Beogradu u periodu od 1929. do 1940. u Kraljevini Jugoslaviji. Pored navedenog, posebna pažnja posvećena je utvrđivanju vaspitno-obrazovnih funkcija koje je radio imao u navedenom periodu.

Nepovjerenje roditelja u mogućnosti djelovanja na rast i razvoj ranim učenjem mogu biti pod uticajem različitih socio-demografskih varijabli, kulture obilježene tradicionalizmom i uopšte nasljeđem kulturnih obrazaca porodice iz prošlosti. S ciljem utvrđivanja stavova roditelja o ranom učenju, realizovali smo istraživanje na uzorku 150 roditelja čija djeca pohađaju vrtić - kako bismo identifikovali njihove stavove o ovom pitanju. Primijenjena metodologija odnosila se na otkrivanje razlika u stavovima roditelja o ranom učenju s obzirom na neka njihova socio-demografska obilježja koja su pod snažnim dejstvom kulturnog programa sredine. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da razlike u stavovima roditelja predškolske djece o ranom učenju - s aspekta pola, broja članova porodice, broja djece u porodici, redoslijeda rođenja djeteta u porodici i nivoa obrazovanja roditelja - nisu statistički značajne na ispitivanom uzorku. Dobijeni rezultati istraživanja upućuju na nekoliko važnih pedagoških implikacija koje su prikazane u radu.

Posljednjih godina istraživanja o kockanju sve su brojnija, a tema aktualnija zbog ozbiljnih posljedica (društevenih, obiteljskih, moralnih) koje uzrokuje. Cilj rada je ispitati učestalost i navike kockanja srednjoškolaca u Dubrovniku, te utvrditi postoji li povezanost između sociodemografskih obilježja ispitanika i učestalosti kockanja. U istraživanju su sudjelovala 162 učenika srednjih škola u Dubrovniku (gimnazije i srednje strukovne škole) pri čemu je zastupljenost mladića bila veća (N=106, 65,4%) u odnosu na djevojke (N=56, 34,6%). Kako bi odgovorili na postavljeni cilj, koristili smo dva instrumenta: Upitnik o općim sociodemografskim podacima i Upitnik aktivnosti kockanja. Rezultati pokazuju kako je 78,4% učenika obuhvaćenih istraživanjem bar jednom u životu igralo igre na sreću (u bilo kojem obliku), a samo 21,6% sudionika nikad nije primjenjivao niti jedan oblik igara na sreću. Sportske kladionice (51,20%) predstavljaju najčešći oblik kockanja učenika u Dubrovniku. Zatim, slijede lutrijske igre kao što su Loto, Bingo i Eurojackpot (47,50%), dok je najmanje zastupljen rulet (21%). S obzirom na sociodemografske karakteristike uzorka, utvrđeno je kako učenici muškog spola kockaju više od vršnjakinja ženskog spola, te, s obzirom na vrstu škole koju pohađaju, utvrđeno je kako su učenici iz gimnazije manje skloni kockanju od učenika strukovne škole. Dobiveni rezultati mogu poslužiti kao smjernice za planiranje izrade preventivnih programa rizičnih ponašanja adolescenata.

The analysis of electron diffraction patterns can be done automatically using image techniques for collecting the diffraction pattern. This is useful if the material is well known. The alternative when the material is not well known is to do hand measurements on the plate and then enter that data into a program, or do the entire analysis by hand. We have developed a small software package called CRYSTAL, for a PC/AT which is an intermediate point between the fully automated approach and the approach by hand. These programs were written to be used in conjunction with the EMS programs in order to compare theoretical patterns with those obtained experimentally.The program menu is displayed by typing “CRYSTAL”. There are five choices available from the menu: 1) enter diffraction pattern data using the digitizer, 2) analysis of the zone and planes associated with the measured planes, 3) plot the theoretical diffraction pattern and/or the measured planes, either on the CRT or the plotter, 4) calculate x-ray planes and 20 angles, 5) return to DOS.

Short-term field study experiences are increasingly popular in engineering education. Where they include an international dimension, they can also develop skills and knowledge needed for working across cultures and in interdisciplinary teams. Such programs can take students out of their ‘comfort zone’, thereby enabling them to question their previously taken-for-granted assumptions. Here we analyze four different case studies of organizing short-term international field study programs in engineering education which share a methodology of mixing student disciplines and skills, of interaction with people from other cultures or contexts, and using reflection tools drawn from social and human sciences. While such programs appear to directly address skills desired in engineering students, it was extremely challenging to fit them within the constraints of a traditional university program and to have their modes of reflection accepted as valid by more traditional engineering education practitioners.

This article describes the program components, program outcomes and challenges of two iterations of a leadership development program that was intended to contribute not only to individual capacity building but also to succession planning within midwifery professional associations. The young midwifery leaders programs were similarly designed, using self-study modules that focused on essential leadership knowledge and skills, and a mentor–mentee relationship to provide guidance and support to selected midwives early in their professional careers. The International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) implemented a 3-year leadership program conducted from 2004 to 2007 for five mentee participants. A collaborative United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)/ICM team in Latin America designed and implemented an 18-month program with 12 mentees that began in 2013. Examples of leadership outcomes in policy and education include assumption of elected offices in midwifery associations, integration of evidence-based topical content into an established midwifery education program, and development of a new preservice education program in a rural zone of a large country. The vision for the future is to expand this program globally while simultaneously adapting the program content and strategies to reflect the leadership needs of the regional context in which it is implemented.

Most agricultural innovations were not sustainably adopted due to incompatibility to social and cultural practices. Based on this proposition, this study was designed to analyze the effects of socio-cultural factors on agricultural training programs for farmers by the Benue State Agricultural and Rural Development Authorities (BNARDA) for farmers in Zone C. Seven communities were purposively selected due to their unique cultural practices and a total of 118 respondents were randomly selected for the study. Questionnaire was used as tool for data collection. Descriptive statistics and logit regression were used for data analysis. The results show that there were 22 % of respondents aged between 50-60 years, 72 % of them were married and about 60 % had at least secondary educational attainment. Annual income of respondents was between ₦80,000.00 - ₦100,000.00. About 72 % had farming experience of less than 10 years, and 31 % were cosmopolites. The result further shows that fear of ostracization was among the major reasons that inhibit training program participations. The results of logit analysis show that education (-3.3987), gender (2.268), rivers/streams (-.732) and leadership (2.150) were significantly affect training program. It was concluded that farmer who have strong cultural beliefs were responsible for non- participation in the training program. It was recommended that aggressive advocacy program be embarked by BNARDA before packaging a training program for the farmers.

This paper is focused on a comparison of zone fire modelling software tools and their application in structural fire design. The analysis of the zone models is performed for five selected computer programs, namely Argos, Branzfire, B-RISK, CFAST, and OZone. The limits and input parameters ofthe zone fire modelling software tools are described. In each software, two variants of the analysed compartment are created for simulating two types of fire scenario, including the fuel-controlled fire and the ventilation-controlled fire. The burning regimes are defined based on two heat release rate(HRR) curves, determined according to EN 1991-1-2. The HRR curves parameters are used as the main input data into the fire modelling software. The fire simulation method in each fire modelling software is selected based on the software capabilities. Although each program requires a different amount of input parameters, the aim was to create the same model in all programs and to compare the results. The fire modelling software outputs are exported into a spreadsheet. Subsequently, a comparison of the resulting graphs is performed, particularly the heat release rate graphs and the upper layertemperature evolution graphs. The fire resistance assessment of a simply-supported concrete slab panel is performed for all zone fire models and then the results are compared. The fire modelling software tools are finally quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated and compared to assess their differences.

Along with the current development to the Millennial Generation Era, Kampung Kota also developed into more modern habitations. Residents of Kampung Kota have also begun to recognize electronic devices such as gadgets and smartphones. The main problem that occurs is not only the fulfillment of the need for a place to live, but how to make it possible for the living environment to grow and improve the standard of living of its people. Consequently , the needs that urge to be fulfilled are job (livelihoods) and public space (greening and recreation). Meanwhile, the Old City Tourism area in Jakarta, whose growth since the colonial era was inseparable from the influence of the Kampung Kota, began to develop towards more advanced tourist areas. Kampung Kota directly and indirectly also becomes a supporting area for tourism activities in the Old City. Therefore, Balai Kampung Kota Kreatif was designed with the aim of accommodating creative economic activities and training for Kampung Kota Residents and also for a tourist attraction for Old City Tourists. Using the Cross-Dis Programming Method, the building was designed by combining two main programs, namely the Community Activity Zone and the Tourism Zone. The result of the design showed that the community activity Zone which is needed is a Creative Economic Production Program in the fields of wood, crafts, clothing, and plants, along with additional programs namely Shared Space, Business Units, Creative Corridors and Knowledge areas. Whereas for the Tourist Zones needed are Galleries, Theaters, and Tourist Centers. The program which could combine between two targets (Kampung Kota Residents and Tourist) is the outdoor in the form of Market Place and Ampy Theater. The conclusions obtained from the design of the Balai Kampung Kota Kreatif is a building which could contain a combination of two programs with different targets at once by accommodating the space requirements for both equally. Abstrak Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman ke Era Generasi Milenial. Kampung kota juga turut berkembang menjadi permukiman yang lebih modern. Warga kampung kota juga sudah mulai mengenal alat elektronik seperti gadget dan smartphone. Permasalahan utama yang terjadi bukanlah hanya pemenuhan kebutuhan akan tempat tinggal, namun bagaimana agar lingkungan tempat tinggal dapat berkembang dan menaikan taraf hidup masyarakatnya. Kebutuhan yang perlu dipenuhi adalah penyediaan lahan pekerjaan (mata pencaharian) dan ruang publik (penghijauan dan rekreasi). Sementara itu kawasan Wisata Kota Tua di Jakarta Utara, yang pertumbuhannya sejak Jaman Kolonial tidak lepas dari pengaruh Kampung Kota, mulai berkembang kearah kawasan wisata yang lebih maju. Kampung Kota secara langsung dan tidak langsung juga menjadi daerah penunjang kegiatan wisata di Kota Tua tersebut. Oleh karena itu, Balai Kampung Kota Kreatif dirancang dengan tujuan untuk mewadahi kegiatan ekonomi kreatif beserta pelatihannya bagi warga kampung kota dan juga sekaligus menjadi tempat wisata bagi turis yang mengunjungi Kawasan Wisata Kota Tua. Menggunakan Metode Cross-DisProgramming, bangunan dirancang dengan menggabungkan dua program utama yaitu zona kegiatan komunitas dan zona wisata. Hasil perancangan yang didapatkan bahwa zona kegiatan komunitas yang dibutuhkan adalah program produksi ekonomi kreatif dalam bidang kayu, kriya, pakaian, dan tanaman, serta program tambahan yaitu ruang bersama, unit usaha, selasar kreatif dan area pengetahuan. Sedangkan untuk zona wisata yang dibutuhkan adalah galeri, teater, dan pusat turis. Program yang dapat menggabungkan antara dua sasaran (warga kampung kota dan turis) adalah ruang luar yang berupa Market Place dan Ampy Theater. Kesimpulan yang didapat pada perancangan Balai Kampung Kota Kreatif adalah keseimbangan antara kegiatan warga kampung kota dan wisatawan Kota Tua Jakarta dapat tercapai dengan dengan cara mewadahi kebutuhan ruang untuk keduanya secara seimbang melalu program-program yang dipilah untuk digabungkan atau didekatkan.

This paper presents a novel methodology for evaluating spatial straightness error based on the minimum zone criterion. Spatial straightness evaluation is formulated as a linear complex Chebyshev approximation problem, and then reformulated as a semi-infinite linear programming problem. Both models for the primal and dual programs are developed. An efficient simplex-based algorithm is employed to solve the dual linear program to yield the straightness value. Also a general algebraic criterion for checking the optimality of the solution is proposed. Numerical experiments are given to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the presented algorithm.
