Full textA statistical-dynamical zonalIy symmetric mo deI of primitive equations is used to study the seasonal migration of ITCZ and to simulate the monsoon. Three numerical experiments were performed in the case of ITCZ, with lower boundary: 1) control, 2) global ocean and 3) global continent. AlI experiments showed tri-cellular mean meridian circulation. The seasonal migration of ITCZ over continent is greater than in the case of aquaplanet, as expeeted. The ITCZ migrates 25${°}$ in mean over global continent; on global ocean a migration of the ITCZ is reduced to 15${°}$ as in the case of the control. Over global ocean the migration of ITCZ depends on the maximum temperature of the ocean surface. The simulation of Monsoon is due to differential heating of continent relative to the oceano This experiment considered continent north of the equator and the ocean to the south. The charaeteristics of monsoon are well simulated (wind reversal and rainfalI) when compared with observations. The c1imatic pattern of the Holocene is simulated, changing earth's orbital parameters and the results show enhancement of monsoon circulation, which agrees with paleoclimatic evidence. When the grid of the model is reduced, from 10${°}$ to 2,5${°}$ , the results agree better with the c1imatological observations. Comparing these results with those obtained with the complex mo dels (GCM), and with a simple model (energy balance), it is observed that our mo del simulation is reasonable.

Full textDialogy was developed in the 1920s by the Russian literary theorist Mikhail Bakhtin. He developed the concept in order to study the works of Dostoyevsky, before extending it more generally to communication. In the artistic context, dialogy entails the representation of dialogues, favoring thick description and non-totalizing responses. In documentary photography, the author adopts a dialogic approach, recognizing the other as an autonomous subject. Dialogic works promote sustained interaction with the interlocutors in the field. This thesis explores the dialogic approach in documentary photography from an ethnographic, methodological and epistemological perspective. The first part focuses on my own fieldwork from 2012 to 2017 with a group of "zonard.e.s": the ZONE 54 project. The second part links the fundamental principles of dialogy, the ZONE 54 project, and other dialogic documentary works by such photographers as Allan Sekula, Susan Meiselas, Marc Pataut and Gilles Saussier

Full textTo know precisely the internal structure of the celestial bodies is essential to both to understand the physics which governs their existence, and the process which gave them birth. First applied to the Earth and then to the sun, seismology has proven to be a very effective tool to sound their interiors. It has become natural and legitimate to question the possibility of seismology of gaseous giant planets. The first theoretical work was carried out in the 1970s (Vorontsov et al. 1976), and the first attempts to measure oscillations at the end of the 1980s. The detection of Jupiter's oscillating modes turned out to be very difficult (reduced flux, small apparent diameter, fast rotation ...). To increase the chances of detection, a specific instrument was built in the early 2000s at the OCA. This instrument, called SYMPA, is a Mach-Zehnder-type imaging spectrometer enable to produce radial velocity maps of Jupiter. A first detection of acoustic modes on Jupiter with this instrument was published by Gaulme et al in 2011. An improved version of the instrument (called DSI), based on the same principle, was built in the wake, with the primary objective of boarding a spacecraft to Jupiter. The project was finally reoriented towards an observation program from the ground in the form of a network of three telescopes equidistant in longitude (USA, France, Japan) and supported by the ANR fund starting in 2015 (ANR JOVIAL). The interest of the network is to ensure the continuity of data (weather apart). The instrument being able to produce radial velocity maps, the project also aims to study the atmospheric dynamics of giant planets. This thesis work is part of a preparation for JOVIAL, with the aim of characterizing the instrument and identifying the problems related to real observations conditions. Laboratory measurements showed expected performances with an instrumental noise level (related to thermal fluctuations) lower than expected photon noise on Jupiter. The first measurements on the sky with a telescope showed a sensitivity of the instrument to the degree of polarization of the light as well as drifts of the velocity measurements due the motions of the pupil position. Some adjustments of the design of the instrument and its interface with the telescope were necessary to solve these issues. Several Jupiter observation campaigns were carried out during the thesis, allowing the development of full data processing software. The complete procedure was tested against simulated data and validated. Two observations runs in 2015 and 2016 were analyzed to produce time sequences of radial velocity maps of Jupiter, providing very interesting scientific results. First, the maps were analyzed to look for the signature of the zonal winds and to compare them with the measurements made by cloud-tracking. Such measurements by Doppler effect were never made before. The result, albeit affected by measurement biases, showed stable year-to-year wind patterns and coherent results with cloud-tracking measurements, except at the northern part of the Jovian’s equatorial band. The Doppler measurement indeed suggests a wind speed well below the apparent speed in this area, which potentially has implications for the theory of atmospheric dynamics and will be helpful to interpret the Juno (a spacecraft presently orbiting Jupiter) measurements. Frequency analysis of temporal data was undertaken at the end of the thesis. The preliminary results do not seem for the moment to reproduce the SYMPA detection. Further analysis is necessary before concluding if the signal is absent or attenuated

This increase is due, in large part, the Colombian military operations to eradicate crops, demobilization of paramilitaries fighting irregular groups through counter insurgency operations linked to Plan Colombia, which ended up generating an overflow of transnational activities in borderline space, here called Strategic and Structural Zone for Illicit Transit ZEETI. These regions have low state governance, high levels of corruption, informal economy and export insecurity abroad. In recurrence of generating constant mobilization of the armed forces at the border, as well as an environment of mistrust and hostility between the heads of state, it appears that the ZEETI represent to South America, the main current obstacle to consolidate an effective Zone of Peace.

Full textThe studied area is inserted in the Transversal Domain of Borborema Province. The Paleoproterozoic (Riacian) basement encompasses mainly by metaplutonic rocks from Salgadinho and Cabaceiras Complex. These complexes were individualized according to their compositional, textural and/or geochronological datas. The Paleoproterozoic (Orosirian) metasedimentary rocks were interpreted as components of Sertânia Complex. The Estatherian magmatic event is characterized by syenogranitic orthogneisses of the Carnoió-Caturité Suite and metaplutonic rocks of Metanorthositic Boqueirão Complex. The Neoproterozoic lithostratigraphic units are represented by Cryogenian metasedimentary successions of Complex Surubim and by Early-Ediacaran granodioritic and syenogranitic orthogneisses and of the Sumé Complex and Riacho de Santo Antonio orthogneisses, respectively. The Ediacaran granitic magmatism was characterized by the emplacement of Inácio Pereira and Marinho Plutons. The geochronological data (LA-ICPMS) indicate at least of three tectono-magmatic events. The 2042 + 13Ma and 1996 + 11Ma ages from amphibolites of Cabaceiras Complex were interpreted as the crystallization age of the protolith and metamorphism, respectively. The age of 1638 + 13Ma from the syenogranitic hornblende orthogneiss of Carnoió-Caturité Suite was interpreted as the crystallization age of the protolith, marking an Estatherian anorogenic magmatic event. The age of 550 + 3.1Ma acquired in a porphyritic monzogranite of Marinho Pluton is a record of the last magmatic event in the Late-Ediacaran, associated with the final stage of development of the Coxixola Shear Zone. The structural data allowed the individualization of three deformation phases, individualized as D1, D2 and D3. D1 was responsible for generating a S1 foliation, observed only at the hinge of F2 folds. The D2 event is marked by a thrust regime with transport to NNW, observed from asymmetrical shear bands and drag folds in sections parallel to stretching lineation (L2x). Ductile shear zones of different geometry and kinematics had been developed during the D3 phase. The NE-SW Boa Vista, Carnoió and Congo Shear zones exhibit sinistral kinematic in sections parallel to stretching lineation (L3x). The southern limits of these shear zones are connected with Coxixola Shear Zone. This WSW-ENE shear zone with dextral kinematics crosscut the entire studied area, with an average of 300m thickness of mylonitic rocks. The WNW-ESE Inácio Pereira Shear Zone is situated in the eastern portion of the studied area, shows geometric and kinematic characteristics in agreement with an evolution through an oblique-sinistral transpressive regime. The structural evolution of a system of conjugate ductile shear zones is responsible by anastomosed framework exposed in a map view.
