Abstract:
The younger generation is an important pillar of the state. At the same time, they hold ideology and action. On the basis of a historical approach, Muslim youth contributed significantly to the establishment of Indonesia during the period of independence until the 1998 reform period. However, there is currently a decline in the participation of Muslim youth in politics. There are many reasons, including passive attitudes towards national political problems and the still low level of literacy of Islamic politics among young people. It is therefore important to do this dedication, which aims to increase the political understanding of Islam among the young generation of Islam. The method used is the format of lectures, discussions and question and answer sessions. Before and after the test, it was shown that there was an increase in Islamic political insight among students compared to before the activity was carried out.

Abstract:
The history of the Indonesian youth political movement in 1928 not only inherited national politics with the ties of "imagine of Indonesia" as a homeland, nation and language, namely Indonesia. But it also gave birth to the view that youth is the core of change. This view became the belief of Indonesian youth in the 1940s to be involved in the revolutionary wave of "imagine of Indonesia" in a more critical and progressive manner in political actions. This paper aims to explain youth activism in Jakarta around a more advanced proclamation, accelerating from national politics to populist politics. There were two strongest youth node organizations in Jakarta at that time, Asrama Menteng Raya 31 and Prapatan 10. Both of them brought together young people from different ethnic and national backgrounds. But the youth political movement in the 1940s had a more populist political tone with its political activities carrying out political education work in order to mobilize people's awareness of the struggle for independence. Then the youth in Jakarta formed an organizational node called the Angkatan Pemuda Indonesia (API), which contributed to the historical events of the grand meeting at Ikada Square on September 19, 1945. Where Sukarno spoke as President of Indonesia for the first time in front of a mass mobilized by youth after the reading of the proclamation on August 17, 1945.

The result of the analysis revealed that the intensity of radicalism discourse among youth had increased in 2017. It was the momentum of the development of radicalism discourse. It was reflected by the involvement of youth activists of various community, youth and university organizations in countering radicalism ideas in Aceh. Therefore, the challenge of youth existence in responding to religious radicalism unemployment and drug in Aceh is very important. It is perceived that not every single radical action reflects the ideological belief but due to social and political gaps.

Abstract:
The paper concerns a youth environmental movement in Bandung to save the urban forest Babakan Silawangi. It is proposed that space for protest plays a significant role in social movements such as environmentalism. Public assembly allows activists to voice their political objections and make their discontent known to the citizenry. Yet political space is different to physical place. According to Henri Lefebvre, political space is an assemblage of co-creation by individuals who occupy the space and demonstrate their subjective meanings for it in expression and lived experience. Since the subjective/collective meanings perceived and experienced by the activists are powerfully enacted, the space itself may shape their identity and this study explores those meanings, which are relational, contextual, and spatial.

Abstract:
The article is dedicated to the analysis on how actively the youth political organizations participate in public affairs of Altai Krai before major electoral cycle of 2021. The indications and reasons of crisis, which covers the most youth political parties and formally independent youth associations, are being studied. The data of the survey upon the youth of Altai Krai proved that the level of trust regarding those associations among the youth is quite low, as well as the opinion on their efficiency. Basing on online and offline activity analysis of the youth political organizations, the author concludes that not only formal, but actual presence on Altai Krai political space was only provided by the organizations which received support and resources of political parties that were represented in federal and regional legislature bodies. It has been noted that the regional youth political organizations can’t afford to carry on their individual political agenda. Such organizations are usually being brought to execute planned public outreach. The maximum of the youth potential, its’ human and electoral opportunities are used only in periods of significant election campaigns.

Abstract:
This paper explores K-pop fans political participation by looking at recent fan activism that happened in Indonesia and Thailand. Since the US fans participation in BLM campaign and ‘sabotaging’ of Trump’s Tulsa campaign rally, the K-pop fans community has made headlines on mainstream media as part of contemporary political discourse. Similar situation is also encountered in Southeast Asia where Korean popular culture has been consumed for decades and has large following. K-pop fans in Indonesia and Thailand have participated in various forms of activism supporting humanitarian causes through donations, criticizing new laws, or protesting against the government. Focusing on four key areas of analysis: the intersection between cultural and civic/political participation, the tension between participation and resistance, affect and collective identity, and impacts; this paper aims to explain how fandom may act as a powerful force that bridges cultural consumption and political participation amongst youths in the era of media convergence.

Kazakhstani youth takes the position of an observer rather than takes an active part in the political life of the country. This is evidenced by certain trends, namely the reduction in the proportion of young people among civil servants, the low level of formal participation in the activities of political parties and other organizations as their members, as well as the virtualization of political participation. Abstract:
Corruption is any type of activity based on dishonesty by taking advantage of the position or power held in order to obtain benefits for individuals or other people. In Indonesia itself, it is so synonymous with the problem of corruption, as well as corruption which is identical with Indonesia. This seems to illustrate the impression that Indonesia and corruption are two things that cannot be separated. The problem related to corruption that occurs in Indonesia is indeed quite alarming, the article is that criminal cases of corruption in Indonesia occur non-stop from year to year, almost every year new corruption cases appear with old or new figures. Corruption can be likened to a disease that gnaws at the mentality of Indonesians that seems difficult to treat. Therefore, it is important to change the mindset of the millennial generation from now on to increase awareness of the importance of anti-corruption because the future of Indonesia lies in the current millennial generation. The millennial generation has an important role in reducing and eradicating criminal acts of corruption, therefore, in order for that role to be real, it is necessary to provide training for the millennial generation in fighting corruption in the present or in the future.

Specifically, the article explores the aspirations of young men and women for work and marriage and their ability to achieve locally valued forms of masculinity and femininity during their transitions to adulthood. It argues that aspirations and decisions about employment are informed by, and in turn contribute to, gendered and religious expectations about marriage and future family life.

Abstract:
It is indeed that the youth activeness in online political participations by new medias are allowed and needs to be increased, but it doesn’t mean that they are allowed to ignore practical political participations in their real life. The youth, as a catalyzer of the nation, have the urgencies of balancing between their online and offline participation. We need to remember that Indonesia is not a country that exist merely in the web and not all of the nation’s problem can be digitalized. Unfortunately, the existence of the youth in the nation’s politics has degraded drastically since the 1998 reformation. Where were the young men who stood in the front line to defend their people and brought terror to the governmental regime in the early 2000s? It’s not an anecdote, but it is a serious problem of recent Indonesian youth, which is hard to tackle. Several things has become the reason of this phenomenon. First one, the new media offers ease to participate in politics. The lack of cost and efforts required has made the youth feel more comfortable to participate via these new medias so they started to ignore participating in offline politics. Second one, new medias cuts the distance between politicians and the society. At this point, the youth may think that the problems will be over by criticising in the comment section of the politicians’ social media accounts, or by writing in their social media timeline, while it actually doesn’t solve any problem. Third one, political-branding media accounts and news portals have appeard a lot more. They often incite useless debates and social media wars. It feels so contradictive seeing our youth comfortably argue in online forums when our fuels are no longer subsidized, our electrcity become more expensive, even while our national general assembly (DPR) is seriously entangled in the e-KTP mega-scandal. By using literature reasearch, the writers compared empirical data from several previous researches and deeply analyzed about the prominent problem. This reasearch results in a new innovation as an alternative solution we can apply by synergizing the role of the youth and the government, which is essential to help balancing the youth’s participations online and offline.

Abstract:
The article deals with the problem of the socio-political activity of young people in modern Russia and its civic position. Regional experience is analyzed on how to politically activate the youth. On the example of the Belgorod region, the forms of the growth of the socio-political activity of young people, including youth representation and youth public associations, are considered. Much attention is paid to the professional education of political science students as the most socially and politically active part of the student body, to the areas of prevention of destructive political behaviour. Problems are identified that impede the socio-political activation of young people, primarily students who are not political scientists, students of colleges, lyceums, colleges and schools. Among the problems are an insufficient level of knowledge about political life, a low level of awareness of ongoing political events, and an unformed civic position. Promising, in the author’s opinion, forms of growth of social and political activity of young people with interest and leadership qualities are proposed - participation in the activities of youth parliaments, youth governments, youth election commissions, specialized political science clubs. There is a need for mass political education and prevention of destructive political activity among the youth.

Abstract:
Since the inception of urban sociology, the “neighborhood” has served as the dominant context to capture developmentally significant youth experiences beyond the home. Yet no large-scale study has examined patterns of exposure to the most commonly used operationalization of neighborhood—the census tract—among urban youth. Using smartphone GPS data from the Adolescent Health and Development in Context study ( N = 1,405), we estimate the amount of time youth spend in residential neighborhoods and consider explanations for variation in neighborhood exposure. On average, youth (ages 11 to 17) spend 5.7 percent of their waking-time in their neighborhood but not at home, 60 percent at home, and 34.3 percent outside their neighborhood. Multilevel negative binomial regression models indicate that residence in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods is associated with less time in one’s neighborhood. Higher levels of local violence and the absence of a neighborhood school are negatively associated with time in-neighborhood and mediate the concentrated disadvantage effect. Fractional multinomial logit models indicate that higher violence is linked with increased time at home, and school absence is associated with increased outside-neighborhood time. Theoretical development and empirical research on neighborhood effects should incorporate findings on the extent and nature of neighborhood and broader activity space exposures among urban youth.

Abstract:
Decent Work and Economic Growth represent one of the goals of Sustainable Development Goals. The Government of Indonesia through the National Secretariat for Sustainable Development Goals has continued to launch national actions by building multi-stakeholder partnerships to encourage the achievement of these goals. Citi Indonesia, together with Indonesia Business Links, initiated a youth development and empowerment program in the area of Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, Karawang Regency, Purwakarta Regency, and Bandung Regency. The collaboration was a Citi Indonesia Corporate Social Responsibility activity focusing on capacity building, opening job opportunities, encouraging entrepreneurship, and creating a conducive environment. Increased competence in human resources is needed especially in the current 4.0 industrial revolution era. The shift of human labour into machines with automation and the digital economy requires workers who have the intermediate ability. This happens because much low-skilled human labour has been replaced by machines. The program aimed to prepare young people to be ready to work and ready for entrepreneurship. This program was designed as a series of activities with implementation methods in the form of focus group discussions, outreach, in-class training, seminars, counselling, and field practice. The results showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of the training participants so that it is hoped they will have a greater opportunity to be employed or to become entrepreneurs.

Abstract:
Introduction. The article presents the results of the research, which helped to determine the assessments and perceptions of young people in the Caucasus region about the state, nature and direction of the development of ethnopolitical processes, to identify common and special in the views of youth in the North and South Caucasus. Methods and Materials. Sociological research within the framework of the scientific project “Ethno-Political Processes in the Caucasus in the Assessments and Perceptions of Modern Youth” was carried out by the authors of the article in 2019 using the online survey method. 2,000 respondents were interviewed, namely students of leading universities of the region (1,000 respondents were interviewed in the North Caucasus and 1,000 respondents in the South Caucasus), the age of the respondents being 18-24 years old. The role of state authorities in the formation of civic and national identity among youth of the North Caucasus was revealed as a result of the content analysis of regional programs and other information materials in 2018. Analysis. It was found that the spectrum of the main ethnopolitical issues of concern to young people in the Caucasus region is largely identical for both the North and South Caucasus. It was revealed that civic, national, and religious identities are of priority and equal importance for the vast majority of youth. Civic and national identity for the absolute majority of Caucasian respondents is associated with the preservation of national culture and history, pride of their country and its achievements, protection of the Fatherland, and the guarantee of human rights and freedoms. Regional identity is a priority for the overwhelming majority of young people in the Caucasus. It can be assumed that risks of conflict between civil, national, and confessional identities persist among young people in the region. Youth in the Caucasus have a high level of political activity and consider their active participation in the political life of the region necessary. At the same time, they are more inclined towards a constructive solution to socio-political problems, volunteering, as well as dialogue and cooperation with state authorities. The main actors forming political views, according to the majority of respondents, are the environment in which they communicate, close relatives, as well as the blogosphere and social networks. The role of state administration in the formation of civil and national identity among young people in the North Caucasus is analyzed. The conclusion is that it is necessary to strengthen work in the region to develop public initiatives among youth, to involve them in socially significant activities, to activate their creative potential, and to develop their participation in various civil society institutions, especially volunteer organizations. Results. The conclusion is made about the need for a wide integration of young people of the region into the all-Russian socio-cultural space, the implementation of equal partnership between youth, civil society institutions and state authorities, greater involvement of young people in activities that contribute to the economic, socio-political and cultural development of the region. Key words: youth, ethnopolitical processes, Caucasus, political activity, civic identity, national identity.

The current studies in this field are gradually moving from social and psychological terrain into the political one. The author assumes this might be connected with growth of political culture among the youth, their desire to become specialists in the vocation they have chosen and their readiness to act not only as an object of socio-political processes, but also the active co-author of political changes in the state. Therefore, the term «left youth organizations» finds more and more application in this regard. Abstract:
Many studies on Islam in Indonesia usually focus on Islamic movements from social, economic, or political perspective. One missing viewpoint that does not get much attention or even completely ignored is the spiritual life of the Muslim youths. This study would examine and analyze the growth of the Syeikhermania and their attachment to Hadrah music of Majelis Shalawat Ahbab al-Musthofa led by Habib Syeikh Abdul Qadir Assegaf, an Arabic-descent Muslim preacher. Unlike Muslim youth organizations that are enthusiastically active in political movements that tend to be radical, Syeikhermania plays a role in creating harmony and tolerance. They transform spiritually from Hard Rock to Hadrah music. Therefore, this study disclosed the participation of the Muslim youths in the Majelis Shalawat Ahbab al-Musthofa which is motivated by the need for spiritual protection and expressing their identity as Muslim youths in contrast to the liberal and secular cultures on the one hand and fundamentalist and radicalist groups on the other hand.

Abstract:
The article defines the place and role of youth public associations in the socio-political processes of modern Russia, analyzes the political activity of Russian youth. The study was conducted among young people in the Krasnodar region using the questionnaire developed by the author, as well as methods for determining the level of activity and motivation of the population. The data obtained allow us to determine the degree of involvement of young people in the activities of NGOs and political processes in the Krasnodar territory. The conducted research has shown the strengthening of the influence of youth public associations on socio-political processes, personnel policy, activation of their activities in the field of public diplomacy, volunteer movement, articulation of the interests of young people as a special social group of the population. Youth public associations are able to structure and regulate the activity of young Russian citizens, directing it in a constructive direction, while reducing the degree of protest moods if it is present. They do this work more effectively than the authorized state authorities, because they act on the ground, i.e. they work directly with representatives of the youth community, understand their needs, catch the mood and are able to change the current agenda without resorting to radical methods.

Abstract:
Television, with a larger audience than other mass media in Indonesia, can improve youth engagement in politics, or at least their curiosity about politics. Previous studies showed inconclusive results concerning the effects of television viewing and political interest. However, the current study assessed the effect of talk shows and variety show viewership on college students’ political interests. A survey was conducted of 400 college students at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ), Jakarta, Indonesia, using a stratified sampling technique and data analysis with multiple linear regression analysis. The results verified that talk shows and variety show viewership directly relate to the political interest in youth. Variety show viewership has a negative relationship, which means that political interest decreases as viewing of variety show increases. Television use, talk show viewership, and political knowledge positively correlate with political interest. The author suggests a sample from a broader geographical area in the future. Furthermore, the conceptualization of variety shows should be examined more.
