Abstract:
ABSTRACT(N.B. A version of this paper has now been published in Kaogu 1983.6:537-41.)Fu Hao (or Fu Zi ) appears in the oracle-bone inscriptions from Anyang. The name is often seen in Period I inscriptions (from the time of Wu Ding) and occasionally in Period IV inscriptions (from the time of Wu Yi and Wen Ding). The two are separated by four kings (Zu Geng, Zu Jia, Lin Xin, and Kang Ding), perhaps by as much as one hundred years. Does the Fu Hao in both periods refer to the same person? How can we explain this phenomenon? In the oracle-bone records of people and their activities there are cases where one figure is active in different periods. These names are often also place names, and these figures possess a populace and products. These names are probably what is termed “Clan-Territory titles” (a term found in the Gu shi kao, as quoted in the “Zheng yi” commentary to the Zuo zhuan). Based on their clan name they served hereditarily as officials. These clan names occur in historical literature, as in “In the past, our former kings were for generations Lords of Millet (Hou Ji ), serving under the Yü and Xia “(Guo yü “Zhou Yü” ); or “The Zhong and Li clans generation after generation ordered heaven and earth, … the Sima clan for generation after generation was in charge of the history of Zhou” (Shi ji, “Taishigong zixu” ).

Abstract:
Japanese herbal (Kampo) medicine, Hochuekkito (Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang in Chinese, TJ-41) and Juzentaihoto (Shi-Quan-Da-Bu-Tang in Chinese, TJ-48) are well-known Kampo formulas used as tonic. Although these medicines have separately been applied to the patients clinically depending on their symptoms, the differences of the pharmacological activities for these medicines have not been fully understood. TJ-48 and TJ-41 were compared for their effects on antibody response in upper respiratory mucosal immune systemin vivo. Oral administration of TJ-41 (100 mg kg-1 per day) to early aged BALB/c mice, which were nasally sensitized with influenza hemagglutinin vaccine, significantly enhanced influenza virus-specific IgA and IgG antibody titers in nasal cavity and sera, respectively. However, oral administration of TJ-48 (100 mg kg-1 per day) failed to show the enhancing activity. TJ-41 increased not only influenza virus-specific IgA antibody titer but also total IgA antibody titer in nasal cavity. The stimulating activity of TJ-41 disappeared after treatment with methotrexate. The present study strongly suggests that TJ-41 can stimulate the mucosal immune system of upper respiratory tract, and results in enhancement of antigen-specific antibody response in upper respiratory mucosal and systemic immune systems.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Dual HER2 targeted therapy with pyrotinib (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting HER1, HER2, and HER4) and trastuzumab plus chemotherapy has been approved as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with HER2-positive breast cancer in China based on the results from phase 3 PHEDRA study. However, the optimal chemotherapy partner still needs exploration. This multicenter phase 2 trial (ChiCTR1900022293) aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of epirubicin, cyclophosphamide and pyrotinib followed by docetaxel, trastuzumab and pyrotinib (ECP-THP) as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with stage II-III HER2-positive breast cancer. Methods: Patients received intravenous epirubicin (90 mg/m2) and cyclophosphamide (600 mg/m2) on day 1 of each cycle for four 21-day cycles, followed by intravenous docetaxel (75 mg/m2) and trastuzumab (8 mg/kg loading dose, followed by 6 mg/kg) on day 1 for 4 cycles. Pyrotinib 400 mg was given orally once daily throughout the neoadjuvant therapy period. Surgery was performed within 16-20 days after the last neoadjuvant therapy. The primary endpoint was total pathological complete response (tpCR, ypT0/is ypN0) rate. Results: Between May 2020 and May 2022, a total of 175 patients enrolled. As of May 31, 2022, 144 patients had undergone surgery; the median age was 51 years (range, 26-67). Sixty-seven (46.5%) of 144 patients had hormone receptor (HR)-negative disease, and 77 (53.5%) had HR-positive disease. The tpCR rate was 67.4% (97/144; 95%CI, 59.3%-74.5%). Patients with HR-negative disease had numerically higher tpCR rate than those with HR-positive disease (73.1% [95%CI, 61.5%-82.3%] vs. 62.3% [95%CI, 51.2%-72.3%]), but without statistical significance (P=0.230). Miller-Payne grade 4 and 5 pathological responses were found in 22 (15.3%) and 97 (67.4%) of 144 patients, respectively. Regarding clinical response to neoadjuvant therapy before surgery, 31 (21.5%) of 144 patients achieved complete response and 99 (68.8%) achieved partial response, with an objective response rate of 90.3% (95%CI, 84.3%-94.1%). Of 161 patients with available safety data, the most common grade ≥3 adverse events included diarrhea (57.1%), white blood cell count decreased (8.7%), and neutrophil count decreased (5.6%). No treatment-related deaths occurred. Conclusions: Patients with stage II-III HER2-positive breast cancer show favorable clinical and pathological response to this ECP-THP neoadjuvant regimen, with an acceptable safety profile. Abstract:
Abstract Zhong Hua Tu Xiang Wen Hua Shi Yi Yao Tu Xiang Juan (《中华图像文化史•医药图像卷》History of Chinese Image Culture: Medical Image Volume) is a history of images of Chinese medicine. This work meticulously traces the evolution of Chinese medicine from the pre-Qin and Han dynasties through to the late Qing dynasty and the Republican era, utilizing a rich array of medical and non-medical images. Through detailed analysis and interpretation of these images, the volume reconstructs the developmental trajectory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theories, while also revealing the impact of ideological, cultural, and societal contexts on medical culture and theoretical advancement. Zhong Hua Tu Xiang Wen Hua Shi Yi Yao Tu Xiang Juan has pushed the research of Chinese medical images from purely literary studies to a broader historical context, broadened the research object of Chinese medical history, and constructed a basic framework for the new research field of image medical history. The book not only facilitates a deeper understanding of TCM's historical and contemporary developments, but also holds significant value for scholars engaged in historical literature research or clinical practice, aiming to integrate historical insights.
