Figure exemplaire de la tradition chinoise, Yi Yin seconda le prince Tang dans la fondation de la dynastie Shang vers l'an 1600 avant notre ère. Hormis quelques souverains antiques, il est le seul personnage historique en Chine qui apparaît aussi bien dans les inscriptions oraculaires du milieu du 13ème siècle avant notre ère, que dans les textes philosophiques et littéraires des Royaumes combattants (5ème-3ème siècles av. n. è.) transmis jusqu'à nos jours. À cela s'ajoute un ensemble de manuscrits découverts il y a une quinzaine d'années. Ces écrits, dont Yi Yin est le protagoniste, furent rédigés sur des fiches de bambou dans l'ancien pays de Chu, aux alentours du 4ème siècle avant notre ère. Leur contenu totalement inédit permet de jeter un nouveau regard sur le processus de développement de la légende de Yi Yin. La présente étude vise à esquisser un panorama - aussi complet que possible au stade actuel - de cette légende. À cette fin, nous exposerons tout d'abord le contexte de découverte ainsi que la méthode de reconstitution et de lecture des manuscrits sur bambou en écriture de Chu. Puis nous passerons en revue l'ensemble des témoignages écrits relatifs à Yi Yin datant de la période pré-impériale : d'une part les sources épigraphiques et transmises, d'autre part les manuscrits, qui seront édités, traduits et annotés. Enfin, nous examinerons les principaux visages prêtés à Yi Yin dans les manuscrits, qui le dépeignent comme le pilier du changement dynastique, l'instructeur du prince, mais aussi le héros d'une fable. Suivant une approche intertextuelle, nous mettrons en évidence la diversité de la légende, qui fut adaptée, selon les cas, dans une visée plutôt politique, plutôt morale et spirituelle, ou encore littéraire. Notre étude donnera ainsi l'occasion d'observer et de questionner les variations que connut la figure de Yi Yin au cours des siècles
An exemplary figure of Chinese tradition, Yi Yin assisted Prince Tang in the establishment of the Shang Dynasty around 1600 BCE. Except for a few ancient rulers, he is the only historical figure in China to appear both in the oracle inscriptions of the mid-13th century BCE and in the philosophical and literary texts of the Warring States period (5th-3rd centuries BCE) transmitted to the present day. In addition to this, we will take into account a collection of manuscripts discovered about fifteen years ago. These texts, in which Yi Yin is the protagonist, were written on bamboo slips in the ancient state of Chu, around the 4th century BCE. Their completely new content brings fresh insights into the development process of the legend of Yi Yin. This study aims to provide an overview - as comprehensive as possible at the current stage - of this legend. To this end, we will first outline the context wherein the bamboo manuscripts in Chu script were discovered, and the method used to reconstruct and read them. We will then review all the written evidence related to Yi Yin dating from the pre-imperial period, i.e. the epigraphic and transmitted sources on the one hand, and the bamboo manuscripts which will be edited, translated, and annotated, on the other. Finally, we will examine the main roles attributed to Yi Yin in the manuscripts, which depict him as the pillar of dynastic change, the prince's instructor, but also the hero of a fable. Following an intertextual approach, we will highlight the diversity of the legend, which was variably adapted, for political, moral and spiritual, or even literary purposes. Our study will thus give an opportunity to observe and question Yi Yin's varied representations through the ages

Cette Chine éternelle (quatre fois millénaire) et ses habitants (92% de culture Han) nous apparaissent encore aujourd'hui à travers un voile de mystère et d'exotisme. Aussi, tel un fil d'Ariane, en analysant les emblèmes graphiques --- et --, nommés Yang et Yin, provenant du premier texte philosophique chinois, le Yi Jing , le Livre des Changements , notre mémoire se propose d'analyser et d'expliquer de quelle façon fonctionne le mode de pensée binaire traditionnel chinois. En nous inspirant des travaux du sinologue français Marcel Granet (1884-1940), nous montrons qu'à partir du jeu combinatoire des deux emblèmes graphiques originels --- et --, la pensée chinoise a fait alterner des emblèmes (qualitatifs et quantitatifs) produisant par le fait même une vision du monde organique, dynamique et harmonieuse. Or, cette terre chinoise qui n'était pas propice au réductionnisme quantitatif de la science moderne occidentale, semble maintenant assimiler l'inassimilable: le savoir scientifique. Contradiction éphémère assumée par l'Harmonieux équilibre de la pensée chinoise!

Abstract:
Overweight and obesity are two of the most important emerging public health issues in our time and regarded by the World Health Organisation [WHO] (1998) as a worldwide epidemic. The prevalence of obesity in the USA is the highest in the world, and Australian obesity rates fall into second place. Currently, about 60% of Australian adults are overweight (BMI „d 25kg/m2). The socio-demographic factors associated with overweight and/or obesity have been well demonstrated, but many of the existing studies only examined these relationships at one point of time, and did not examine whether significant relationships changed over time. Furthermore, only limited previous research has examined the issue of the relationship between perception of weight status and actual weight status, as well as factors that may impact on people¡¦s perception of their body weight status. Aims: The aims of the proposed research are to analyse the discrepancy between perceptions of weight status and actual weight status in Australian adults; to examine if there are trends in perceptions of weight status in adults between 1995 to 2004/5; and to propose a range of health promotion strategies and furth er research that may be useful in managing physical activity, healthy diet, and weight reduction. Hypotheses: Four alternate hypotheses are examined by the research: (1) there are associations between independent variables (e.g. socio -demographic factors, physical activity and dietary habits) and overweight and/or obesity; (2) there are associations between the same independent variables and the perception of overweight; (3) there are associations between the same independent variables and the discrepancy between weight status and perception of weight status; and (4) there are trends in overweight and/or obesity, perception of overweight, and the discrepancy in Australian adults from 1995 to 2004/5. Conceptual Framework and Methods: A conceptual framework is developed that shows the associations identified among socio -demographic factors, physical activity and dietary habits with actual weight status, as well as examining perception of weight status. The three latest National Health Survey data bases (1995 , 2001 and 2004/5) were used as the primary data sources. A total of 74,114 Australian adults aged 20 years and over were recruited from these databases. Descriptive statistics, bivariate analyses (One -Way ANOVA tests, unpaired t-tests and Pearson chi-square tests), and multinomial logistic regression modelling were used to analyse the data. Findings: This research reveals that gender, main language spoken at home, occupation status, household structure, private health insurance status, and exercise are related to the discrepancy between actual weight status and perception of weight status, but only gender and exercise are related to the discrepancy across the three time point s. The current research provides more knowledge about perception of weight status independently. Factors which affect perception of overweight are gender, age, language spoken at home, private health insurance status, and diet ary habits. The study also finds that many factors that impact overweight and/or obesity also have an effect on perception of overweight, such as age, language spoken at home, household structure, and exercise. However, some factors (i.e. private health insurance status and milk consumption) only impact on perception of overweight. Furthermore, factors that are rel ated to people’s overweight are not totally related to people’s underestimation of their body weight status in the study results. Thus, there are unknown factors which can affect people’s underestimation of their body weight status. Conclusions: Health promotion and education activities should provide education about population health education and promotion and education for particular at risk sub -groups. Further research should take the form of a longitudinal study design ed to examine the causal relationship between overweight and/or obesity and underestimation of body weight status, it should also place more attention on the relationships between overweight and/or obesity and dietary habits, with a more comprehensive representation of SES. Moreover, further research that deals with identification of characteristics about perception of weight status, in particular the underestimation of body weight status should be undertaken.

Abstract:
Electrostatic discharges have been identified as the most likely cause in a number of incidents of fire and explosion with unexplained ignitions. The lack of data and suitable models for this ignition mechanism creates a void in the analysis to quantify the importance of static electricity as a credible ignition mechanism. Quantifiable hazard analysis of the risk of ignition by static discharge cannot, therefore, be entirely carried out with our current understanding of this phenomenon. The study of electrostatics has been ongoing for a long time. However, it was not until the wide spread use of electronics that research was developed for the protection of electronics from electrostatic discharges. Current experimental models for electrostatic discharge developed for intrinsic safety with electronics are inadequate for ignition analysis and typically are not supported by theoretical analysis. A preliminary simulation and experiment with low voltage was designed to investigate the characteristics of energy dissipation and provided a basis for a high voltage investigation. It was seen that for a low voltage the discharge energy represents about 10% of the initial capacitive energy available and that the energy dissipation was within 10 ns of the initial discharge. The potential difference is greatest at the initial break down when the largest amount of the energy is dissipated. The discharge pathway is then established and minimal energy is dissipated as energy dissipation becomes greatly influenced by other components and stray resistance in the discharge circuit. From the initial low voltage simulation work, the importance of the energy dissipation and the characteristic of the discharge were determined. After the preliminary low voltage work was completed, a high voltage discharge experiment was designed and fabricated. Voltage and current measurement were recorded on the discharge circuit allowing the discharge characteristic to be recorded and energy dissipation in the discharge circuit calculated. Discharge energy calculations show consistency with the low voltage work relating to discharge energy with about 30-40% of the total initial capacitive energy being discharged in the resulting high voltage arc. After the system was characterised and operation validated, high voltage ignition energy measurements were conducted on a solution of n-Pentane evaporating in a 250 cm3 chamber. A series of ignition experiments were conducted to determine the minimum ignition energy of n-Pentane. The data from the ignition work was analysed with standard statistical regression methods for tests that return binary (yes/no) data and found to be in agreement with recent publications. The research demonstrates that energy dissipation is heavily dependent on the circuit configuration and most especially by the discharge circuit's capacitance and resistance. The analysis established a discharge profile for the discharges studied and validates the application of this methodology for further research into different materials and atmospheres; by systematically looking at discharge profiles of test materials with various parameters (e.g., capacitance, inductance, and resistance). Systematic experiments looking at the discharge characteristics of the spark will also help understand the way energy is dissipated in an electrostatic discharge enabling a better understanding of the ignition characteristics of materials in terms of energy and the dissipation of that energy in an electrostatic discharge.

This research studied distributed computing of all-to-all comparison problems with big data sets. The thesis formalised the problem, and developed a high-performance and scalable computing framework with a programming model, data distribution strategies and task scheduling policies to solve the problem. The study considered storage usage, data locality and load balancing for performance improvement in solving the problem. The research outcomes can be applied in bioinformatics, biometrics and data mining and other domains in which all-to-all comparisons are a typical computing pattern.

Abstract:
This research explores Australian Aged Care residents' landscape experience. The findings suggest that gardens within aged-care facilities foster critical activities associated with homemaking. Residents develop a sense of ownership and agency within the landscape and recall significant memories, especially after relocation in later life. The study concludes with recommendations to transform current understandings of therapeutic landscapes, broadening the medicalised understanding of health, in order to create more "healthful landscapes". This research argues for future design to provide a holistic landscape experience by integrating emotional, social and sensory landscape experiences for residents within aged-care facilities.

Abstract:
Communicating about health concerns is prone to misunderstandings, and more so when patients and practitioners do not share the same first language. Using in-depth qualitative analyses of hospital-based language concordant and discordant consultations, this thesis revealed those communication behaviours displayed interactively between patients and practitioners that ensure quality communication. Critical amongst these are the practitioner's patient-centredness, conversation management, cultural awareness, and responsiveness to their patients' communication style, and the patients' communication and engagement. The findings informed the extension of Communication Accommodation Theory towards the more comprehensive study of health communication, and generated recommendations for improving practitioner and patient communication.

Einleitung: Zur Messung der Narkosetiefe standen bisher vor allem aus dem EEG abgeleitete Parameter im Mittelpunkt der Forschung, die sehr gut geeignet sind, die hypnotische Komponente der Anästhesie abzubilden. Eine Vorhersage auf motorische Reaktionen lassen sie jedoch nicht zu. Eine vorausgehende Studie hat gezeigt, dass unter Sevofluran der spinale H-Reflex mit der chirurgischen Immobilität korreliert. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht, ob motorische Reaktionen während Propofolmononarkosen mittels H-Reflex besser vorausgesagt werden können als mit den EEG-Parametern Bispektraler Index (BIS), spektrale Entropie (SE) und response Entropie (RE). Außerdem wurde der Einfluss von Propofol auf die Erholungskurve des H-Reflexes unter Doppelstimulation untersucht. Methodik: Nach Zustimmung der Ethikkommission und schriftlicher Einwilligung wurden 17 Patienten in die Studie eingeschlossen und ausgewertet. Nach der „up-and-down“-Methode von Dixon wurde die Konzentration von Propofol auf einen Wert eingestellt, bei dem die Hälfte der Patienten auf einen am Unterarm ausgelösten elektrischen Tetanus-Reiz (60 mA) mit einer gezielten motorischen Reaktion reagierten. Nach einer Kontrollmessung wurde die Konzentration von Propofol 15 min konstant gehalten. Danach wurde von einem „steady state“ ausgegangen und der Tetanusreiz wurde ausgelöst. Die Vorhersagefähigkeit der möglichen Narkosetiefe-parameter auf eine Bewegung wurde mit der „Prediction Probability“ (PK-Wert) ermittelt. Im zweiten Teil wurde der H-Reflex anhand der Doppelstimulation mit größer werdenden Interstimulusintervallen (50-8000 ms) untersucht. Ergebnisse: Die Wachwerte für die H-Reflexamplitude liegen bei 5,9 (± 3,8 SD) mV. Der von uns berechnete C50-Tetanus-Wert beträgt 4,5 ± 0,45 mg/l. Die PK-Werte 0,47 für den H-Reflex und 0,45 für die Herzfrequenz lassen nur zufällige Aussagen auf motorische Reaktionen zu. Die EEG-Parameter zeigen höhere PK-Werte: BIS (0,74), SE (0,73), RE (0,71). In diesem Bereich liegt auch der PK-Wert der Propofolzielkonzentration (0,76). Der Schmerzreiz beeinflusste weder die H-Reflexamplitude noch die EEG-Parameter. Bei der Doppelstimulation zeigte sich eine verzögerte Erholung des H-Reflexes unter Doppelstimulation, die am stärksten im Bereich der interkurrenten Fazilitation unter den Interstimulusabständen von 150 und 200 ms. Schlussfolgerung: Für die Vorhersage motorischer Reaktionen während Propofolmono-narkosen sind EEG-Parameter wie BIS, SE und RE etwas besser geeignet als der spinale H-Reflex. Dies steht im Gegensatz zu einer Untersuchung mit Sevofluran und wird auf die unterschiedlichen Wirkmechanismen von volatilen und intravenösen Anästhetika zurückgeführt. Die Unterdrückung der Erholungskurve des H-Reflexes unter Doppelstimula-tion, die vor allem im Bereich der interkurrenten Fazilitation stattfindet, ist möglicherweise durch eine Reduktion supraspinaler exzitatorischer Einflüsse zu erklären.
Introduction: The measurement of „depth of anaesthesia“ is mostly done by parameters of the electroencephalogram (EEG) which can predict hypnosis whereas the prediction of immobility is not possible with those parameters. A previous study has shown that the H-reflex amplitude can be used for monitoring of immobility during sevoflurane anaesthesia. This study examined whether the prediction of movement to painful stimulation is also possible during propofol anaesthesia on the basis of the H-reflex-amplitude compared with the EEG-parameters bispectral index (BIS), spectral entropy (SE) and response entropy (RE). Furthermore the influence of propofol on the H-reflex-recovery under double pulse stimulation was tested. Methods: After approval of the institutional review board and informed consent were obtained, 17 patients were included into this study. Using the “up-and down”-method the concentration of propofol was adjusted to the level where half of the patients do not move to painful stimulation (C50-tetanus-value). Propofol was administered after a baseline measurement. After at least 15 minutes of constant propofol concentration a "steady-state" was assumed and a painful electrical stimulation (tetanic stimulus of 60mA) was applied. To estimate and compare the predictive value of the parameters, prediction probability Pk was calculated. The H-reflex during double pulse stimulation was examined with interstimulus intervals ranging from 50 to 8000 ms. Results: At awake level, H-reflexes had a mean amplitude of 5.9 (+/- 3.8 SD) mV. The calculated C50-tetanus-value was 4.5 (+/- 0.45 SD) mg/l. With Pk-values of 0.47 for the H-reflex amplitude and 0.45 for the heart rate the prediction of movements is just by chance. The Pk-values of the EEG-parameters were higher: BIS (0.74), SE (0.73), RE (0.71). At this level was also the Pk-value of the propofol concentration (0.76). The painful stimulation influenced neither the H-reflex amplitude nor the EEG-parameters. The double pulse stimulation showed a delay in the H-reflex-recovery at interstimulus intervals of 150 and 200 ms. Conclusion: The prediction of movement during propofol anaesthesia is better using the EEG-parameters BIS, SE and RE compared to the H-reflex-amplitude. These results are in contrast to a previous study with sevoflurane which can be explained by the different molecular mechanisms of action of volatile and intravenous anaesthetics. The depression of the recovery-curve of the H-reflex under double pulse stimulation is possibly due to the reduction of supraspinal excitatory influences.

Abstract:
Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit war es, die Blutdruckregulation und die hormonelle Stressantwort unter Kombinationsanästhesie mit der unter Allgemeinanästhesie zu vergleichen. Methoden: 49 Patienten ohne kardiovaskuläre Vorerkrankungen wurden zufällig 2 Gruppen zugeordnet: 25 Patienten erhielten eine Kombination aus volatiler (Isofluran in Luft/Sauerstoff) und thorakaler epiduraler Anästhesie (CA-Gruppe). 24 Patienten erhielten eine balancierte Anästhesie (Isofluran in Luft/Sauerstoff und Fentanyl i.v. nach Bedarf) (BA-Gruppe). In beiden Gruppe wurde die Anästhesietiefe mittels Bispectral Index überwacht (Zielwert: 40-50). Die Blutentnahmen für die Bestimmung der Hormon-Plasmaspiegel erfolgten jeweils vor Narkoseeinleitung, 30 min vor Hautschnitt und 40 min nach Hautschnitt. Objective: To study whether there are differences regarding blood pressure regulation and hormonal response in patients receiving combined anesthesia (thoracic epidural and general anesthesia) or general anesthesia alone. Methods: 49 patients without cardiovascular diseases, scheduled for abdominal surgery, were randomly assigned to 2 groups: 25 patients received a combination of volatile anesthesia (isoflurane in oxygen/air) and thoracic epidural anesthesia (CA group); 24 patients had a balanced anesthesia (isoflurane in oxygen/air plus fentanyl i.v. as required) (BA group). The past two decades have seen an ethno-religious revival in China, one which is spurred by the development of ethnic tourism with the introduction of the Chinese-state-market economy. The success of recreating, branding, and selling the Yi torch festival, as among the Liangshan Yi people, draws public attention. While some intellectuals are in favor of ethnic elites' effort in promoting cultural difference and authenticity in a festive context, others dispute the changing meanings that are brought about by this "invented tradition". My thesis is intended to bridge the disputants' concern of ritual knowledge and ritual reproduction with a lack of discussion of a stereotypically "primordial" form of the torch festival, dutzie, or "the sacrifice to the fire". I examine how cultural difference is reified and projected upon Morganian-Marxist scales of human societal development through the state-initiated projects of ethnic identification and "minority work" in the early years of nation-state building, and how subsequent radicalized state policies generate forced assimilation and give rise to the Yi's own appropriation of a state-designated category of ethnicity. By exploring both the retraditionalization of the Yi torch festival and the rural Yi's long-held practice of dutzie in the reform era, I investigate ritual changes and cultural continuity among the Liangshan Yi, and therefore highlight Yi identity formation in historical and social processes of producing ethnic dimension in China.

EINLEITUNG: Eine Trachealrekonstruktion bedingt Komplikationen wie z.B. Infektionen und Stenosierungen durch Granulationsgewebe. Diese werden durch ein differenziertes respiratorisches Epithel, das eine mukoziliäre Clearance ermöglicht, deutlich reduziert. Die Basalzellen gelten als die Vorläuferzellen des humanen respiratorischen Epithels (HRE), d.h. sie können sich teilen und besitzen das Potenzial zur Differenzierung. Durch die magnetische Zellseparation (MACS) sollen Vorläuferzellen aus dem HRE angereichert und anschließend kultiviert werden. METHODEN: Die Conchae nasales inferiores von 80 Patienten (mittleres Alter 40 ± 14 Jahre) dienen als Zellquelle für HRE-Zellen, die mittels enzymatischen Verdaus mit Dispase II (2,4 U/ml) aus dem Gewebeverband isoliert werden. Die Kultivierung der HRE-Zellen erfolgt auf Kollagen-A-beschichteten Kulturgefäßen in serumfreiem AECG-Medium. Die Bindungsspezifität von verschiedenen extrazellulären Zellmarkern wie GSA I B4, CD44S und CD44v6 wird immunhistochemisch überprüft. Dabei erweist sich nur CD44v6 als spezifisch für Basalzellen. Die Vorläuferzellen aus dem HRE-Zellgemisch werden durch monoklonale Antikörper gegen CD44v6 und Goat-Anti-Mouse-Microbeads magnetisch konjugiert. Anschließend werden sie mittels MACS positiv selektiert. ERGEBNISSE: Die Präparation der Nasenmuscheln ergibt Einzelzellsuspensionen aus vitalen HRE-Zellen (Vitalität > 80%, n = 30). Eine Beschichtung der Kulturgefäße mit Kollagen A steigert die Adhärenz der HRE-Zellen signifikant (p < 0,0145, n = 5). Die Proliferationskinetik der HRE-Zellkulturen lässt sich durch die Populationsverdoppelungszeit charakterisieren (tPD = 23 ± 3h, n = 3). Während eines Monats wird die Proliferationskapazität der HRE-Zellen durch Zellvermehrung (383fach, n = 6) ermittelt. Die magnetische Separation ergibt eine Zellfraktion (20 ± 2%, n = 5), die sich positiv zu CD44v6 verhält. Anschließend werden die separierten Zellen eine Woche auf Kollagen A kultiviert, wobei sie alle ein adäquates Proliferationsverhalten aufweisen. SCHLUSSFOLGERUNG: Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass CD44v6 ein spezifischer Marker für Basalzellen ist, der sich für die Anreicherung einer positiven Zellfraktion mittels MACS eignet. In weiteren Studien muss überprüft werden, inwiefern eine solche magnetisch separierte Population aus Basalzellen die Besiedelung eines Trachealersatzes mit einem differenzierten respiratorischen Epithel ermöglicht.
OBJECTIVE: Common problems affecting patients with tracheal replacement are infections and stenosis caused by granulation tissue. These complications can be minimized by establishing a differentiated respiratory epithelium, which facilitates mucocilliary clearance. The basal cells are regarded as the progenitor cells of the human respiratory epithelium (HRE). They are known to divide and possess the ability to differentiate. These cells can be enriched by means of magnetic cell sorting (MACS) for the purpose of cultivation. METHODS: The inferior nasal turbinates of 80 patients (mean age 40 ± 14 years) are used as cell source. The HRE-cells are isolated by a standard preparation using an enzymatic digestion with Dispase II (2,4 U/ml). The HRE-cells are plated on culture dishes coated with Collagen A in serum-free AECG-Medium. Several extracellular cell markers including GSA I B4, CD44S and CD44v6 are tested by immunohistochemistry. Only CD44v6 shows specific staining of basal cells. The progenitor cells of mixed single cell suspensions of HRE-cells are marked with monoclonal antibodies against CD44v6 and are conjugated with Goat-Anti-Mouse-Microbeads. Enrichment of progenitor cells is achieved by MACS using a positive selection protocol. RESULTS: The preparation of the nasal turbinates yields viable single cell suspensions of HRE-cells (viability > 80%, n = 30). Adhesion of HRE-cells is enhanced significantly (p < 0,0145, n = 5) by coating the culture dishes with Collagen A. The kinetics of proliferation of HRE-cell-cultures can be characterized by the population doubling time (tPD = 23 ± 3h, n = 3). In the course of one month the capacity of proliferation is approximated by cell expansion (383fold, n = 6). Magnetic cell sorting results in a cell fraction (20 ± 2%, n = 5) positive for CD44v6. The separated cells are cultured on Collagen A for one week, where they all show adequate proliferation. CONCLUSIONS: The results indicate that CD44v6 is a specific marker for basal cells and enables the enrichment of a positive cell fraction via application of MACS. Further studies will be required to investigate the potential of such a magnetically separated population of basal cells to generate a differentiated respiratory epithelium on a tracheal prosthesis.

Abstract:
In der Studie wurde die Drahtmarkierung als Operationshilfsmethode vor der VATSvideo- assistierten Thorakoskopie bei der Abklärung von solitären pulmonalen Rundherden untersucht. Mit dieser Methode konnte der Lungenherd exakt markiert und transthorakal fixiert werden. Intraoperativ wurde der am Draht hängende Herd mit dosierter Kraft nach außen gezogen, endoskopisch verifiziert und komplikationslos entfernt. Bei der Drahtmarkierung wurden drei verschiedene Drähte benutzt, der größte Teil der Markierungen wurde mit dem Somatex-Lokalisationsset 18 G (84) Spiraldraht durchgeführt. Bei 3 Patienten wurde ein minimaler Pneumothorax, bei 5 Patienten eine geringe Einblutung und bei 2 Patienten ein großer Pneumothorax (>1 cm) und bei 3 Patienten beide Komplikationen festgestellt. Bei keinem Patienten war eine Dislokalisation des Drahtes aufgetreten. Chirurgen und Radiologen teilen die Meinung, dass der Spiraldraht patientenkomfortabel, treffsicher anwendbar und zukunftsträchtig ist. Die kombinierte Anwendung von Herdfixation mittels Spiraldraht und videothorakoskopischer Entfernung von Lungenherden ist für pleuraferne und daher oberflächlich nicht sichtbare Lungenherde empfehlenswert.
With the increasing use of multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) pulmonary nodules are more often detected. The propose of our study was to evaluate use of the computed tomography guided spiral-wire localization before video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). 54 patients with pulmonary nodules underwent ct-guided application of a spiralwire lung localization-set (Somatom, Berlin, Germany). The average age was 58 years, the mean distance between the nodule and the visceral pleura was 7,9 mm and the mean diameter was 13,1 mm. Following this procedure, the patients underwent a VATS resection. In all patients the placement of the spiral-wire was succesful without any dislocation. The major complications were: Asymtomatic pneumothorax, local bleeding and in 3 patients a combination of local bleeding and a minor pneumothorax. In conclusion wire localization of peripheral pulmonary nodules is a safe and effective procedure to assist VATS resection.

Il progetto per la tesi di dottorato centra l’attenzione su due importanti tenori italiani fra Settecento e Ottocento: Giacomo David (1750-1830) e suo figlio Giovanni David (1790-1864). La scelta di studiare questi due tenori è perché la loro vicinanza biografica (padre e figlio) si collega a una lontananza estetica: possiamo dire che il padre è uno dei tenori importanti del Classicismo e il figlio uno dei tenori importanti del Romanticismo. Ci sono caratteristiche stilistiche diverse nella musica dei periodi in cui i due artisti hanno operato, che si rispecchia nelle caratteristiche diverse della loro vocalità: le parti scritte per i due David sono diverse stilisticamente fra loro sia perché erano diverse le due voci, sia perché era cambiato lo stile dei compositori, delle opere, dei tenori. Proprio questi due tenori rappresentano simbolicamente i due diversi periodi storici che influenzarono lo stile di canto e hanno in qualche modo promosso un’evoluzione molto importante nel modo di interpretare l’opera nei periodi classico e romantico. Quello che voglio fare nella dissertazione è raccogliere notizie sui due David per capire le loro voci e la loro arte di interpreti e attori attraverso i documenti che ci sono arrivati (tutti documenti cartacei, però, non sonori!). Attraverso i libretti e le storie dei teatri cerco di ricostruire la cronologia delle loro carriere; attraverso le partiture delle opere che hanno cantato cerco di capire la diversa vocalità, mentre attraverso le recensioni e le testimonianze di chi li ha visti e li ha sentiti cerco di capire qualcosa sulla loro voce e la loro arte di attori. Allo stesso tempo, anche conoscere i tipi drammatici dei personaggi che hanno interpretato è utile per capire il loro carattere.
The project for the doctoral thesis focuses on two important Italian tenors who lived between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries: Giacomo David (1750-1830) and his son Giovanni David (1790-1864). The choice to study these two tenors is because their biographical proximity (father and son) is linked to an aesthetic distance: we can say that the father is one of the important tenors of Classicism and the son one of the important tenors of Romanticism. There are different stylistic characteristics in the music of the periods in which the two artists worked, which is reflected in the different characteristics of their vocal style: the parts written for the two David are different stylistically from each other both because the two voices were different, and because it was changed the style of composers, operas, tenors. These two tenors represent symbolically the two different historical periods that influenced the style of singing and they have somehow promoted a very important evolution in the way of interpreting the opera in the classical and romantic periods. What I want to do in the dissertation is to gather information on the two Davids to understand their voices and their art as interpreters and actors through the documents that have arrived (all paper documents, however, not sound!). Through libretti and theater stories I try to reconstruct the chronology of their careers; through the scores of the works they sang I try to understand the different vocal qualities, while through the reviews and testimonies of those who saw them and heard them I try to understand something about their voice and their art as actors. At the same time, knowing the dramatic types of characters they interpreted is also useful for understanding their character.

Abstract:
In allogeneic bone transplantation, the transmission of viral and non-viral infectious pathogens is the most severe undesirable concomitant phenomenon. The investigations published were examined regarding the inactivating capacity of inactivation procedures that are presently performed in bone banks (peracetic acid/ethanol, gamma irradiation, moist heat) against clinically relevant pathogens (aiming at a virus titer reduction of at least 4 log10 TCID50/ml or titer reduction of non-viral micro-organisms of at least 5 log10 cfu/ml). In the suspension experiments, treatment with peracetic acid/ethanol (peracetic acid 2%, ethanol 96%, aqua ad iniectabilia 2:1:1, 4 hours, 200 mbar, agitation) achieved a titer reduction of > 4 log10 already after 5 minutes for a number of viruses (PSR, PV, BVDV). HIV-2 was also inactivated within 5 minutes below the level of detection ( 4 log10 TCID50/ml was only reached after 4 hours. The results mentioned could be confirmed in the carrier test (contaminated spongiosa cuboids used as ‘worst case’ scenario). In the suspension experiment as well as in the carrier test, the HAV titer was reduced after 4 hours by only 3.7 log10 and 2.87 log10, respectively. The preceding step of defatting the spongiosa tissue by chloroform/ethanol was validated using cell-associated HAV and showed an HAV titer reduction of 7 log10. In the investigations regarding non-viral pathogens, all test organisms were completely inactivated by more than 5 log 10 steps (cfu/ml). Gamma irradiation was the second procedure examined. D10 values (irradiation dose required to reduce 90% of the pathogen titers by one log10 step) that were determined in inactivation kinetics experiments (irradiation conditions: –30°C, 60Co source) corresponded to data published so far. In order to provide for maximal safety, an irradiation dose of 34 kGy was recommended for allogeneic bone transplants using BPV and a diaphysis model from human femurs. The ‘Marburg bone bank system’ was the third procedure examined (thermal disinfection, guaranteed temperature of at least 82.5°C for a minimum of 15 min) using centrally contaminated human femoral heads. All viruses were completely inactivated and their titer reduced by more than 4 log10 steps. Vegetative bacteria and fungi were also completely inactivated (>= 6 log10 in the supernatant). As expected, spores and spore-forming pathogens were not sufficiently inactivated and not inactivated, respectively (titer reduction of less than 2 log10 cfu/ml). However, the latter group can be disregarded, since femoral heads are procured in the operation room under sterile conditions and the following production process rules out a secondary contamination with spores. It could be shown in the investigations presented that all three procedures examined guarantee an inactivation of the viruses investigated according to the recommendations by the senior federal authorities. The three treatment procedures offer additional biosafety by a comprehensive inactivation of non-viral pathogens.

Einleitung: Experimentelle Daten zu Designparametern von Cages fehlen weitgehend. Ziel dieser Untersuchung war es, am Modell der Schafshalswirbelsäule den Effekt von Designparametern (Auflagefläche/Porengröße) auf das Einheilungsverhalten von Cages radiologisch zu untersuchen. Material und Methode: Bei 24 Merino-Schafen wurde eine intervertebrale zervikale Fusion C3/C4 mit 3 verschiedenen Stabilisierungsverfahren (n=8) durchgeführt. Gruppe1: autologer Beckenkammspan; Gruppe2: Syncage-C + autologe Spongiosa; Gruppe3: Harmscage + autologe Spongiosa. Während der Standzeit wurden radiologische Verlaufsuntersuchungen durchgeführt. Nach der 12-wöchigen Standzeit erfolgten funktionsradiologische Untersuchungen sowie computertomographische Untersuchungen am Präparat. Der Status der Fusion wurde anhand eines Fusionsscores bestimmt. Ergebnisse: Im Vergleich zum Beckenkammspan waren beide Cages in der Lage, die Höhe des Bandscheibenraums und den Intervertebralwinkel signifikant besser zu erhalten. Bezüglich der Sinterungsparameter, der radiologischen Funktionsuntersuchungen und des Fusionsscores waren bis auf den Zeitpunkt Woche 1 (Cage im Box-Design mit geringster Sinterung) keine signifikanten Unterschiede zwischen beiden Cages nachweisbar. Bei der Evaluation des Kallusvolumens zeigte sich für den Cage im Zylinder-Design eine größere Kallusformation, als für den Cage im Box-Design. Schlussfolgerung: Innerhalb der ersten 12 Wochen lassen sich nur in der frühen postoperativen Phase designspezifische Unterschiede zwischen beiden Cages nachweisen. Die Ergebnisse dieser Studie zeigen, dass die Auflagefläche für das Sinterungsverhalten eines Cage in vivo nur von untergeordneter Bedeutung ist. Ein signifikanter Einfluss der Porengröße der Cages auf das Einheilungsverhalten konnte radiologisch nicht nachgewiesen werden. Ein Einfluss der Primärstabilität des Implantats auf die Kallusformation kann postuliert werden.
Introduction: Experimental data of design parameters of cages are lacking. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of design parameters (endplate-implant contact area/maximum contiguous pore) on interbody fusion in a sheep cervical spine model by radiological methods. Material and Method: Twenty-four sheep underwent C3-4 discectomy and fusion in which the following were used: Group 1, autologous tricortical iliac crest bone graft (n=8); Group 2, titanium cylinder-design cage + autologous bone graft (n=8); and Group 3, titanium box-design cage filled with autologous bone graft (n=8). During the evaluation period radiography was performed. After the 12 weeks' evaluation period, functional radiographs and quantitative computerized tomography scans were acquired. Status of fusion has been evaluated by means of a fusion score. Results: Over a 12 weeks' period significantly higher values for disc space height and intervertebral angle were shown in cage-treated sheep than in those that received bone graft. Comparing the cage-groups no significant difference could be found in disk-space height, functional radiographic assessment and fusion score except week one. At this time the box-design cage showed significantly better distractive properties. The cylinder-design cage showed significantly higher values for bone callus volume in comparison to the box-design cage. Conclusion: In the 12 weeks' period, no significant design specific differences between both cages could be stated except during the early post-operative period. This study shows that the parameter endplate-implant contact-area was not able to determine subsidence of cages. An influence of maximum contiguous pore on the fusion's result could not be shown by radiological data. Primary stiffness must have an influence on bone callus formation.

Quels peuvent être les espaces d’interaction entre écriture et écologie – comprises toutes deux dans leur sens large – à l’ère de l’Anthropocène ? En prenant pour pivot de réflexion les textes de Wu Ming-yi吳明益 (1971-), auteur taïwanais contemporain, cette thèse souhaite interroger ces interactions à travers trois modalités :1) la mise en narration de l’environnement naturel : que signifie « écrire la nature » ? Quelles incidences esthétiques, politiques, ontologiques induisent l’utilisation de la catégorie discursive de « nature » et son dépassement, à travers par exemple l’écriture de l’espace urbain, au profit d’une « écopoétique » ?2) l’écriture et la pratique écologiste : comment l’écriture investit les plateformes idéologiques, de la réécriture de l’histoire (post)coloniale de Taïwan à la résistance militante ?3) l’écriture et l’imagination littéraire de devenirs-humain et de devenirs-monde alternatifs : comment l’écriture peut fait naître la possibilité d’envisager l’existence d’un monde commun respectueux du divers ?À l’appui d’une lecture écocritique des œuvres de Wu Ming-yi – sans limitation de genre (romans, nouvelles, essais et même travaux académiques) – et leur mise en perspective avec d’autres textes (littéraires ou non) et issus d’horizons géographiques différents, l’objectif de cette thèse est ainsi de réfléchir sur la poétique de la relation telle qu’elle s’exprime dans l’appropriation par Wu de problématiques environnementales dans le contexte spécifique de Taïwan.Nous essaierons de nous intéresser plus particulièrement à l’écopoétique en tant que réflexion sur l’idée de « nature », en tant que programme cosmopolitique et en tant que philosophie concrète et rhizomatique de la Relation
Due to its highly transversal dimension, the contemporary paradigm of the Anthropocene forces us to profoundly rethink the mapping of knowledge domains. Then, how to reconsider the interstitial spaces between ecology and writing, at an age when the human influence has become the most powerful geophysical force on the planet? By focusing mainly on the Taiwanese contemporary writer Wu Ming-yi 吳明益 (1971-), this thesis addresses these interactions through three lenses: 1) writing and observation of the natural environment; 2) writing and environmental 2 activism and 3) writing and the literary imagination of alternative relational becomings. This thesis offers an ecocritical reading of Wu Ming-yi’s works putting them into perspective with other texts (literary or not) coming from different geographical backgrounds. This study aims at highlighting the way in which Wu’s texts are creating a kind of poetics of Relation in the socio-historical context of Taiwan, in a time when ecological crisis transcend our normative conceptions of the local and the global
