Abstract:

Con particolare riferimento alle norme tramandate dai manuali composti tra la seconda meta dell'XI secolo e la fine del Quattrocento vengono individuate ed esaminate nel loro manifestarsi in testi rappresentativi del genere le linee di sviluppo dell'ars dictaminis. Questo consente di accertare che nel XV secolo l'ars dictaminis mantiene ancora un ruolo primario non solo come normativa per la scrittura dell'epistola ma anche come corpus di regole riferibili alla composizione di qualsiasi testo, scritto ed orale; in questo periodo la normativa contenuta nei trattati si compone di una mescolanza di elementi tradizionali, che provengono soprattutto dalla trattatistica del XIII secolo, e di innovazione, attraverso spunti dottrinari che hanno la loro prima origine nel XIV secolo.

Abstract:

Il saggio esamina la diffusione del corpus di scritti attribuiti allo Ps.-Mesue (Canones universales, De consolatione simplicium medicinarum, Antidotarium sive Grabadin, Practica sive Grabadin) nelle principali aree linguistiche europee, ed è diviso in due parti. Esso presenta, nella prima parte, una panoramica delle traduzioni (ebraico, tedesco, inglese, francese, spagnolo) medioevali e rinascimentali sinora reperite ed analizza le modalità di ricezione non latina dello Schriftencorpus. In una seconda parte, vengono invece analizzate i quattro volgarizzamenti italiani prodotti tra il XIV ed il XV secolo in area toscana e veneta.

Abstract:

L'Arbor vite crucifixe Iesu, vasta opera composta nel 1305 alla Verna dal francescano spirituale Ubertino da Casale, è uno dei più antichi, se non il primo esempio del fortunato genere bassomedievale della Vita Christi. Nonostante la sua importanza come fonte primaria dello spiritualismo francescano e delle pratiche di devozione del XIV-XV secolo, il testo accessibile solo nell'edizione incunabola del 1485. Il contributo sottolinea i rischi di una tale carenza ecdotica attraverso il caso della "Absorbeat", breve preghiera contenuta nell'Arbor e falsamente attribuita a Francesco d'Assisi a causa di un errore di trasmissione del testo. Offre inoltre, nell'ambito del progetto di edizione critica promosso dalla SISMEL, un primo affresco della tradizione manoscritta e dei principali problemi filologici sollevati dal testo. Viene riservata una particolare attenzione ai manoscritti di origine aragonese e, tra questi, al codice 88 della Biblioteca Capitolare di València.

Abstract:

La libertas florentina es conocida por la elaboración que propusieron entre finales del siglo XIV y principios del siglo XV los cancilleres humanistas, Coluccio Salutati y, sobre todo, Leonardo Bruni. Es una libertad que se caracteriza por su connotación fuertemente republicana. Este artículo propone una contextualización histórica del discurso sobre la libertas. Intenta demostrar, a partir de diversas fuentes documentales, que la ideología republicana de los cancilleres humanistas es la reelaboración letrada, llevada a cabo en un contexto político muy cambiado, de un discurso político que surge en un momento muy preciso de la historia política florentina., el de 1343 a 1378. Además, el discurso sobre libertas que surge en esas décadas está estrechamente relacionado con la confrontación política interna en Florencia, mucho más que con la confrontación militar e ideológica con poderes externos. Sobre todo, es un discurso estrictamente partidista elaborado por una coalición político-social específica que intentaba promover su propia influencia política.

Abstract:

La contesa tra Venere celeste e Venere terrena, tra l’amore onesto e coniugale, che regola la comunità, e l’amore dilettevole e extraconiugale, che è fonte inesauribile di valore guerriero e di virtù cavalleresche nella società cortese, affascina il Boccaccio durante il soggiorno nella Napoli angioina. Se nel Filostrato celebra il trionfo dell’amore per diletto e nel Filocolo concilia il diletto con l’amore onesto, nel Teseida invece rappresenta le tensioni dell’eroina romanza sempre in bilico tra le due Veneri. Nel periodo napoletano Boccaccio trascrive due frammenti di polemica antimatrimoniale nello Zibaldone Laurenziano XXIX 8. Il primo è estratto dall’Adversus Jovinianum, nel quale Gerolamo cita un passo del De nuptiis di Teofrasto per affermare che il sapiente deve stare lontano dalle noie del matrimonio per dedicarsi totalmente agli studi. Il secondo, prelevato dalla Dissuasio di pseudo-Valerio, contiene rassegne di mogli pericolose e di mariti che soccombono alla loro malvagità, con l’obiettivo di rafforzare l’esortazione finale a non sposare Venere ma Pallade. All’archivio dello Zibaldone Boccaccio ritorna più volte, in particolare nelle opere postdecameroniane del periodo fiorentino (Corbaccio, Trattatello in laude di Dante, Esposizioni sopra la Comedia), quando sulle orme di Dante e sotto il magistero di Petrarca si congeda definitivamente dalla letteratura amorosa mezzana per dedicarsi alla letteratura elevata e agli studi teologici e filosofici. Lungo il Trecento e il Quattrocento, nel frequente riaccendersi in Europa del dibattito sul matrimonio, Geoffrey Chaucer, Leonardo Bruni, Leon Battista Alberti, Francesco e Ermolao Barbaro rimettono in gioco Teofrasto e pseudo-Valerio con la mediazione del Boccaccio.

Abstract:

Находки, полученные в ходе раскопок последних лет в окрестностях г. Ельца, позволяют охарактеризовать военный аспект Елецкого княжества. Широкое распространение предметов вооружения на памятниках в бассейне нижнего течения Быстрой Сосны во второй половине XIV - XV в. соотносится с появлением Елецкого княжества, политически и генеалогически связанного с Козельским княжеством. Обнаруженные находки вооружения профессиональных воинов (шпоры, доспех, кольчуга, удила, бронебойные наконечники стрел и др.) маркирует путь продвижения «кованных ратей» с Верховских княжеств на восток до Верхнего Дона. В воинской амуниции прослеживаются тюркские традиции. The finds made during recent excavations near the town of Yelets provide an opportunity to characterize military activities of the Principality of Yelets. Wide spread of weapons at the sites in the lower reaches of the Bystraya Sosna river dating to the second half of the 14th - 15th centuries is correlated with appearance of the Principality of Yelets which was politically and genealogically linked to the Principality of Kozelsk. Retrieved weapons and accoutrements belonging to professional warriors (spurs, a body armor, a coat of mail, bridle bits, armor piercing arrowheads, etc.) mark the routes of the ‘armored hosts' running from the Upper Oka Principalities to the east as far as the Upper Don River. The accoutrements were clearly made in Turkic traditions.

В работе рассматриваются основные аспекты развития и трансформации колониальной артиллерии во Франции в период правления Людовика XIV и Людовика XV. Заморские владения традиционно инструментализировали ключевые военные и политические практики, опираясь на опыт своих метрополий, приспосабливая эти механизмы к местным реалиям. Французские колонии наглядно демонстрируют реализацию этого принципа на фоне нарастания противоречий, неоднократно превращавшихся в полномасштабные конфликты. Автор концентрирует внимание в первую очередь на проблеме организации и функционирования обозначенного механизма в контексте течения очередного витка «фортификационной и артиллерийской революции» в Европе, что проявляется и в попытках реализовать на периферии постулаты вобановской концепции Pre Carre и пр. Уделяется внимание и проблеме увеличения роли артиллерии в ведении локальных кампаний на фронтире англо-французских территорий. The paper treats some important aspects of the development and transformation of the French colonial artillery during the reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV. European countries are known for adapting their homeland military and political practices to the environment of their overseas colonies and territories. The French colonies clearly demonstrate the implementation of this principle against the background of the growing Anglo-French contradictions that repeatedly turned into full-scale conflicts. The author focuses on the implementation of the designated mechanism in the context of the field artillery revolution and the fortification revolution in Europe, in attempts to implement the principles of Vauban’s pre-carré territorial system. Attention is also paid to the issue of increasing the role of artillery in local campaigns on the Anglo-French frontier.

Abstract:

The article reveals the peculiarities of the eastern policy of France in the second half of the 17th — second half of the 18th century. During the reign of Kings Louis XIV and Louis XV, the eastern policy of France underwent significant changes. At the beginning of this period, the main goal of the “eastern barrier” was to confront the Austrian Habsburgs. To this end, the government of Louis XVI used, first of all, the alliance with the Principality of Transylvania. Problems in the east distracted the Habsburgs from the wars in Europe. During the reign of Louis XV, France's foreign policy became much less consistent. At the beginning of the reign of this monarch, the policy of the “eastern barrier” continued, only now it was directed primarily against Russia, since France was very concerned about the Austro-Russian military alliance. Later, the so-called “reversal of alliances” took place, which eventually led to the Seven Years' War, during which France was on the same side with Austria and Russia, and the policy of the “eastern barrier” was temporarily forgotten. After the turn of Russian policy towards an alliance with Prussia, France is also returning to its traditional policy of containing Russia. This was reflected in the support of the Bar Confederation in Poland and pushing the Ottoman Empire and the Crimean Khanate to war with Russia. However, this policy has not led to any significant results. Apparently, the traditional alliance with the Ottoman Empire for France already at that moment did not seem so attractive to some French politicians. The weakening of the Ottoman Empire was presented to them as a possible reason for the seizure of its territories in the Eastern Mediterranean, Egypt for example.

Abstract Si la « dédition » de Nice à la Savoie (1388) représente un véritable tournant dans l'histoire du Midi, le lent procès d'intégration de la Provence orientale dans l'Éat savoyard n'a pas encore été pleinement examiné. Le présent article se propose de combler cette lacune pour ce qui concerne la vallée de la Nervia, sur la base de documents inédits conservés aux Archives Départementales des Alpes-Maritimes (Nice), aux Archives d'Éat de Turin, aux Archives communales et paroissiales de Pigna et à la bibliothèque de l'Institut International d'Éudes Ligures, à Bordighera. Les sources permettent, en particulier, de mettre en lumière trois étapes qui marquèrent l'enracinement du régime savoyard dans la haute vallée: le recensement des feux, en 1394; l'établissement d'une ligne frontière entre la Provence orientale et la seigneurie de Dolceacqua, en 1396; la réglementation du transit du bétail, en 1425. La documentation recueillie conduit aussi à réfléchir sur le dialogue, souvent difficile, entre le pouvoir central et les élites locales comme sur la naissance d'un sentiment d'identité lié à la dynastie savoyarde.

Abstract:

he paper focuses on the iconic chivalric formal combat that took place in Bretagne on March 26th, 1351, during the War of the Breton Succession. Conflicts between the French and English small castles of Josselin and Ploërmel were resolved in a duel between thirty Montfortist knights led by Robert Bemborough, and thirty supporters of Charles de Blois led by Jean de Beaumanoir. Thirty fighters by each side clashed in fierce unmounted melee. Victory of French party had not any tactical impact upon the war, but took air far beyond of the Duchy of Brittany as exemplary deed of arms. The article aims to investigate martial practices and tools of combat and its receptions in texts and images of the Hundred Years War period. Another discussing question is the Combat of Thirty’s reproduction in East-Central Europe – the battle of Koronovo (October 10th, 1410), which has striking similarities with conflict between Josselin and Ploërmel. “Flos duellatorum”, illustrated fighting manual of north Italian master Fiore dei Liberi are exploring for research of fighting techniques with Combat of Thirty’s principal weapons: lance, sword, pollaxe, and dagger. I express my deep gratitude to Professor Steven Muhlberger for giving me opportunity to acquaint with updated version of his article on the Combat of Thirty.

El texto aborda la evolución del análisis historiográfico que se ha llevado a cabo sobre la Cataluña moderna entre finales del siglo XVI y principios del XVIII. Aunque la frontera moderna de Cataluña puede ser múltiple, nos centramos esencialmente en aquella que va desde el Valle de Arán hasta el Mediterráneo. El texto abre con una primera reflexión sobre el camino hacia el cambio de modelo, luego evoca los efectos de las guerras con Francia, con algunos ejemplos concretos, como el de Cerdaña, y, por último, expone la realidad percibida y llevada a cabo con la nueva “fortificación” de la frontera catalana a finales del siglo XVII, cuando el control de Francia se hace evidente.
