Abstract:
Nowadays Web services are one of the most commonly used technologies for distributed system integration and interoperability. Recently, a new communication technique called WebSockets has appeared for implementing Web services that offer a true server-push mechanism. In this paper we present a system based on it to manage agent communications, and we motivate its use in an Assistive Technologies use case. A new WebSocket Message Transport Protocol is described and an implementation for the Jade platform is presented. Subscription based agent interaction for the use case is presented, along with a comparison between WebSocket and HTTP Message Transport Protocols.

Abstract:
The WebSocket makes the web application to deal with the web data directly in the HTML5 and it provides full-duplex communications channels using TCP connection. Some traditional web communication technologies and their shortcomings are introduced such as polling, long polling, stream and flash xml socket in this paper. The principle of the web socket is introduced and a WebSocket server is developed which can be used in the real time web environment. The server includes two modules which include the socket listener and the communication socket. The server implements the WebSocket handshake protocol and the data transfer protocol. The server is developed by C++ language which can provide high efficiency data operation and network transportation. The program is more scalability and flexibility and it uses the universal interface to implement the core functions of web socket with the CAsyncSocket.

Abstract:
The past decade has marked a shift in Web development as users have become accustomed to Web applications with dynamic content and enhanced user experience. Different languages and technologies have been utilised to make way for such applications, gradually stretching existing standards and protocols to its limits. The field of Web development has been characterized by a lack of coherent architectural concepts, partly due to the absences of standard protocols that support modern communication styles. As a result of this, systems specifically designed for real-time data delivery have been required and realised with proprietary technology in the industry, consequently violating established software engineering principles such as modularity, consistency and simplicity. This paper explores how current Web technologies support the requirements of modern Web applications. A prototype application was developed in the last phase to demonstrate the efficacy of combining the WebSocket protocol and API together with the use of JavaScript as exclusive programming language at the client and server. Based on the findings of the research carried out it appears that the use of protocols and standards such as WebSocket, WebSocket API and Server-Sent Events caters for higher network performance, increased flexibility and standards compliance.

Abstract:
AbstractInstant Messaging communication services provide a variety of communication features that can be used by the user, such as text messaging (text messages) both online and offline. One of the standard protocol that supports this service is XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol). XMPP communication using XML documents, making it vulnerable to passive attacks monitoring content of communications. To overcome this drawback the solution is encrypted communications. The other solutions that try to offer in this research is the use of a covert channel to send hidden messages. In this research will create a browser based XMPP client application that is capable to deliver XMPP communication and also provide covert channel communication. XMPP communication can be built on a web-based application using WebSocket protocol. This protocol will exploit field masking-key to load the covert channel messages that is sent during the session XMPP communication takes place. From the test results, the client application is able to produce a covert channel communication with a data width of 3 bytes in each packet. The client application is also able to perform covert communication channel in a communication link with the condition of the probability of packet loss rate below 10%. Keywords— WebSocket, XMPP, masking-key, Covert Channel, browser based application.

<p><em>Foreign Citizens (FC) after entering Indonesian territory according to applicable legal procedures, the presence of foreigners can be anywhere. Problems also arise when parties involved in supervising foreigners cannot contact foreigners who experience immigration problems and do not know the location of the presence of current foreigners or where they were. One solution to this problem is implementing real time data communication to monitor the location of foreigners, so that foreigners can always be monitored. Before going to the residence, a consideration is needed to determine which residence of the foreigner to be visited. Knowing the distance of a foreigner's residence can be an added point in these considerations. The Haversine method is implemented by calculating the distance between parties involved in the supervision of foreigners with each address of the foreigner's residence. The comparison test results of the Haversine method with Google Maps in this study, which has an average difference of 0.039 km in terms of distance based on a straight line. Abstract:
Internet of Things (IoT) connecting sensors or devices that record physical observations of the environment and a variety of applications or other Internet services. Along with the increasing number and diversity of devices connected, there arises a problem called interoperability. One type of interoperability is syntactical interoperability, where the IoT should be able to connect all devices through various data protocols. Based on this problem, we proposed a middleware that capable of supporting interoperability by providing a multi-protocol gateway between COAP, MQTT, and WebSocket. This middleware is developed using event-based architecture by implementing publish-subscribe pattern. We also developed a system to test the performance of middleware in terms of success rate and delay delivery of data. The system consists of temperature and humidity sensors using COAP and MQTT as a publisher and web application using WebSocket as a subscriber. The results for data transmission, either from sensors or MQTT COAP has a success rate above 90%, the average delay delivery of data from sensors COAP and MQTT below 1 second, for packet loss rate varied between 0% - 25%. The interoperability testing has been done using Interoperability assessment methodology and found out that ours is qualified.

Abstract:
The use of Internet of Things (IoT) plays an important role in supporting wireless communication for middleware in collecting data sensors. An actor-based middleware is designed to bridge protocol differences between cloud and sensor nodes. This middleware also acts as an initiator in accessing data from several sensor nodes, and then sending data that has been collected to the cloud. Incorporating the differences of communication protocols and data formats between sensor nodes and cloud is the responsibility of middleware. This Middleware acts as an actor by acting proactively accessing data from each sensor node, so that it can facilitate the completion of sending data from the sensor node to the middleware by avoiding from "signal collisions” among sensor nodes. After the data is collected in the middleware, the data is sent to the cloud using the Websocket or HTTP protocol above the TCP / IP protocol. The performance of the system is evaluated based on the success of the middleware bridging communication between sensor nodes and the cloud, as well as the readability of IoT data sensors that have been adjusted by cloud. The test results show that built-in middleware can bridge protocols between cloud and sensor nodes. In addition, the Websocket usage protocol produces a lower delay value than the MQTT and CoAP protocols.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Quick UDP Internet Connections (QUIC) protocol is a potential replacement for the TCP protocol to transport HTTP encrypted traffic. It is based on UDP and offers flexibility, speed, and low latency. The performance of QUIC is related to the everyday web browsing experience. QUIC is famous for its Forward Error Correction (Luyi, Jinyi, &amp; Xiaohua, 2012) and congestion control (Hari, Hariharan, &amp; Srinivasan, 1999) algorithm that improves user browsing delay by reducing the time spent on loss recovery (J&ouml;rg, Ernst, &amp; Don, 1998). This paper will compare QUIC with other protocols such as HTTP/2 over TCP, WebSocket, and TCP fast open in terms of latency reduction and loss recovery to determine the role of each protocol in the modern internet. Furthermore, this paper will propose potential further improvements to the QUIC protocol by studying other protocols.

Abstract:
Abstract The development of teleoperation systems, robots, or any physical part of the system can be costly and if something goes wrong it can lead to development overdue. Precisely for these reasons, engineers and scientists today resort to the development of simulated systems before the construction of a real system. Robot Operating System (ROS) is one of the most popular solutions for robot development, manipulation, and simulation. In this paper, we present a web application for remote control of a ROS robot. The robot is controlled via a web application that is used as a virtual Joystick. Also, in this paper, an experimental work analysis of the projected system is performed. Further research possibilities include upgrading the presented web interface, adding certain motion autonomy sensors, or integrating some path planning algorithms.

Abstract:
Those working on Blockchain technologies have described several new innovative directions and novel services in the Internet of things (IoT), including decentralized trust, trusted and verifiable execution of smart contracts, and machine-to-machine communications and automation that reach beyond the mere exchange of data. However, applying blockchain principles in the IoT is a challenge due to the constraints of the end devices. Because of fierce cost pressure, the hardware resources in these devices are usually reduced to the minimum necessary for operation. To achieve the high coverage needed, low bitrate mobile or wireless technologies are frequently applied, so the communication is often constrained, too. These constraints make the implementation of blockchain nodes for IoT as standalone end-devices impractical or even impossible. We therefore investigated possible design approaches to decentralized applications based on the Ethereum blockchain for the IoT. We proposed and evaluated three application architectures differing in communication, computation, storage, and security requirements. In a pilot setup we measured and analyzed the data traffic needed to run the blockchain clients and their applications. We found out that with the appropriate designs and the remote server architecture we can strongly reduce the storage and communication requirements imposed on devices, with predictable security implications. Periodic device traffic is reduced to 2400 B/s (HTTP) and 170 B/s (Websocket) from about 18 kB/s in the standalone-device full client architecture. A notification about a captured blockchain event and the corresponding verification resulted in about 2000 B of data. A transaction sent from the application to the client resulted in an about 500 B (HTTP) and 300 B message (Websocket). The key store location, which affects the serialization of a transaction, only had a small influence on the transaction-related data. Raw transaction messages were 45 B larger than when passing the JSON transaction objects. These findings provide directions for fog/cloud IoT application designers to avoid unrealistic expectations imposed upon their IoT devices and blockchain technologies, and enable them to select the appropriate system design according to the intended use case and system constraints. However, for very low bit-rate communication networks, new communication protocols for device to blockchain-client need to be considered.

Abstract:
This paper proposes an online multi-user real-time co-reading (OMURCOR) system to promote the performance of co-reading with collaborative learning. The OMURCOR system utilizes WebSocket to perform synchronization controls on co-reading to allow teachers and students to watch streaming videos together with less delay. Moreover, teachers utilize the system to synchronize control operations of videos on the student site, and the OMURCOR system can be integrated into a learning management system to strengthen students' interaction through co-reading. Unlike traditional platforms, the system supports grouping mechanisms during instruction. A survey was conducted with 104 participants. The bootstrapping square and partial least square approaches of the structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) are employed via the SmartPLS tool to explore evidence of reliability and validity of the revised TAM. Experimental results reflected that six of the seven hypotheses were supported, and the proposed system has a significant impact on students' learning effectiveness during co-reading.

Abstract:
A simple signalling server, written in JavaScript and running in node.js run-time environment, was presented in the previous paper of the Authors [3]. In this paper, principles of building of WebRTC signalling client are presented, as well as exemplary communication between the client and the server, captured with the use of WireShark software tool during experimental WebRTC sessions. The paper includes also an example of application of Internet chat, that uses the simple signal-ling server [3]. The chat was built in two versions, which uses the same user interface and their signalling systems were build according to the same methodology, but differs in method of transmission of chat messages. The first version transmits user data (text messages of the chat) via signalling server, with the use of signalling channel. This version uses WebSocket interface for transmission of chat messages. In the case of the second version, user data are transmitted directly between web browsers, using WebRTC's channel dedicated for transmission of nonmedia data. This version transmits chat messages with the use of WebRTC's RTCDataChannel interface..
