Abstract:
The web system linked by Internet becomes important not only as a functional application system within a company but as a critical backbone for conducting business in a highly competitive market. It is driving companies to come up with a whole new set of business strategies. This paper proposes a methodology to link these strategies to effective system artifacts. Strategic agents are extracted from the three interacting perspectives of customers, competitors, and company itself. The methodology consists of strategic requirement analysis, agent modeling, system design, and system implementation. A real-life case is illustrated to demonstrate the feasibility of our methodology. The resulting Internet system is more likely to be competitive in this dynamic business world.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose an in-depth analysis of online communities of practice that support the innovative development of web applications. The analysis is aimed at understanding the preeminent characteristics of communities of practice that can favour the process of innovation (conceptualisation and realization of a web application) and if these characteristics differ in the diverse phases of a software development project (requirement specification, design, implementation and verification). Design/methodology/approach The authors adopted a multiple case study research design, selected 29 communities of practice related to the development of web applications and classified them recognizing the different practices that refer to the different phases of the innovation process of web-applications software development. Finally, the authors focussed on seven communities comparing five important dimensions for each one. Findings The results of the empirical analysis show that the best practices are different, considering the different phases of the project, and that these practices can be strategies directed at members to attract them and also, strategies directed at the community to permit collaboration. Originality/value The paper proposes an important and new insight into the management of virtual communities of practice (VCoP). The authors supposed that the ways to manage a VCoP could depend on project phases. In particular, the management practices of community should differ according to the different project phases, i.e. requirements specification, design, implementation and verification of the software. Literature in this sense presented only research focussed on the different effects of virtualness on teams depending on the length of team duration and on communication efforts.

AbstractPT. Angkasa Pura I branch Sepinggan, Balikpapan still uses the web with a little interactive (browsing or searching for certain information). The system still has some constraints between, the data searched only in accordance with the origin of the sender of the letter. Information gleaned from web searches will make it hard for users to find other broader content, consequently if the search keyword does not match the text contained in the information, the information will not appear. The method used is semantic ontology method, and use protege as ontology design, then use netbean and library Jena as interface design. The methodology used in this final project is the methodology methodology of Guidelines for Rapid APPlication Engineering (GRAPPLE). The GRAPPLE methodology is a simplified framework of the Rapid Application Development (RAD) system development method. GRAPPLE methodology is a system development methodology that each stage consists of several actions, and each action produces a UML diagram. UML is a good modeling language to apply in development. UML has the benefit of providing an overview of systems that are easily understood by developers. UML also makes it easy to translate diagram form into coding. The results obtained in making this application shows that the new application can cover the constraints existing in the previous application, so as to increase the effectiveness of searching a letter. Comparison of test results proved that new applications more minimize the constraints that occur. Keywords: Semantic Web, Ontology, Protege, Letter

Abstract:
AbstractThe World Wide Web has become a common platform for interactive software development. Most web applications feature custom user interfaces used by millions of people every day. Information architecture addresses the structural design of information to build quality web applications with improved usability of content, navigation, and findability. One of the most frequently utilized information architecture methods is card sorting—an affordable, user-centered approach for eliciting and evaluating categories and navigable items. Card sorting facilitates decision-making during the development process based on users’ mental models of a given application domain. However, although the qualitative analysis of card sorts has become common practice in information architecture, the quantitative analysis of card sorting is less widely applied. The reason for this gap is that quantitative analysis often requires the use of customized techniques to extract meaningful information for decision-making. To facilitate this process and support the structuring of information, we propose a methodology for the quantitative analysis of card-sorting results in this paper. The suggested approach can be systematically applied to provide clues and support for decisions. These might significantly impact the design and, thus, the final quality of the web application. Therefore, the approach includes proper goodness values that enable comparisons among the results of the methods and techniques used and ensure the suitability of the analyses performed. Two publicly available datasets were used to demonstrate the key issues related to the interpretation of card sorting results and the overall suitability and validity of the proposed methodology.

Abstract:
Current Web 2.0 applications, either social sites or Rich Internet Applications, share several problems of interoperability when interconnecting different systems. It is therefore complicated to reuse (or export) the information between sources. In this context, where the value belongs to the data, not the application, the use of Semantic Web technologies opens a way of resolution with mature and standard technologies, thus leading to the Web 3.0. This paper presents the application of Sm4RIA (Semantic Models for RIA), a model-driven design methodology that facilitates the development of semantic RIAs (SRIA), to the design of social network sites. The SRIA approach introduced herein combines the main advantages present in each of the current trends on the Web. In addition to these benefits, the application of a model-driven methodology can speed up the development process and simplify the reuse of external sources of knowledge.

Abstract:
As the World Wide Web evolves into the Semantic Web, domain ontologies, which represent the concepts of an application domain and their associated relationships, have become increasingly important as surrogates for capturing and representing the semantics of real world applications. Much ontology development remains manual and is both difficult and time-consuming. This research presents a methodology for semi-automatically generating domain ontologies from extracted information on the World Wide Web. The methodology is implemented in a prototype that integrates existing ontology and web organization tools. The prototype is used to develop ontologies for different application domains, and an empirical analysis carried out to demonstrate the feasibility of the research.

<span>Open data are available from various private and public institutions in different resource formats. There are already great number of open data that are published using open data portals, where datasets and resources are mainly presented in tabular or sheet formats. However, such formats have some barriers with application developments and web standards. One of the web recommenced standards for semantic web application is RDF. There are various research efforts have been focused on presenting open data in RDF formats. However, no framework has transformed tabular open data into RDFs considering the HTML tags and properties of the resources and datasets. Therefore, a methodology is required to generate RDF resources from this type of open data resources. This methodology applies data transformations of open data from a tabular format to RDF files for the Saudi Open Data Portal. The methodology successfully transforms open data resources in sheet format into RDF resources. Recommendations and future work are given to enhance the development of building open data.</span>

Abstract:
Model Driven Architecture (MDA) is a new software development framework. This paper presents a model-driven approach to the development of Web applications by combining Conallen's web applications design concept and Kleppe's MDA process. We use the UML extension mechanism, i.e. stereotypes, to define the various web elements, and use the Robustness diagram to represent MVC 2 structure for Web application. After required analysis, we start by using a use case diagram as CIM, and then transform CIM to PIM, and PIM to PSM. We propose mapping rules for model-to-model transformation. Finally, we develop a tool named WebPSM2Code, which can automatically transform PSM diagram to Web application code, such as Java, JSP, HTML, Servlet, Javascript, as well as deployment descriptor file. All the files can automatically address to the correct directory structure for JSP Web application, and the transformation rate is about 39% of the whole system. Using this methodology, systems can be analyzed, designed, and generated more easily and systematically. Thereby, the time that Web programmers spend on coding can be reduced.

This research aims to develop and evaluate a geospatial application for groundwater resource management at Karanganyar Regency. The system development methodology from Whitten and Bentley (2007) was used in this research. To initiate the project, we discussed with the stakeholders from Karanganyar Regency which came from various related agencies followed by a focus group discussion (FGD) to analyse the system. Computational design and experiment were conducted to design the system prototype. Finally, we implement the system in the Regency. The result shows that the system is complex not only due to the managerial procedures but also the number of involved users (stakeholder) in the system. To address the emerged requirements from the FGD, we propose and develop a web-based GIS application with current open source technology and Google Map API which can be used for collaboration among stakeholders as well as for supporting the decision support purpose in the groundwater management. Currently, Air-tanah, the prototype of the application is available at http://geografi.ums.ac.id/air-tanah/. Abstract:
Since the distant history of mankind, the phenomenon of the social impact of design is noticed. The term design with social impact has appeared in frequent use for the last decade, but the interest of designers for the impact of their works in social change has long been there. The designer's approach has undergone major changes over the years, focusing on the outward appearance of products, their features, usability, versatile customer testing, to the involvement of users in the design process. The main goal of this master's thesis is to study the essence of the approach design with social impact and its importance in today's society, to study the methods that emerge from it and to contribute to the promotion, dissemination and application of the knowledge and experiences from the realized activities of this field in our society. The research emphasized the study of the most modern scientific methods in the field of design, as ethnographic research and grounded theory. In order to clarify and define the essence of this methodology, realized projects from the held workshops within the international project "Design with Social Impact" were presented and analyzed. The drawn conclusions are presented in the form of guidelines on how it should be applied, what are its advantages, and why its application is useful. As a final result of this research a web platform was created aimed at spreading the idea about the possibilities of the methodology design with social impact in our society as a factor that can affect the social changes, and at the same time as an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences of the designers. This paper is expected to promote the methodology of design with social impact in our surroundings in order to contribute to raising awareness about the importance of designers and the creative way of thinking as an important factor for solving numerous problems in contemporary communities and contemporary living.

Abstract:
Nowadays the built heritage has been recognized as one of the main sectors that can support the economic and sustainable development of countries. In the last years, the built heritage has been subject to several levels of interventions, being now clear its need for a proper maintenance and conservation management. However, in several cases, the maintenance faces lack of building records, which makes the maintenance a harsh, long, and expensive process. Therefore, there is an opportunity and need to apply new technologies, like Building Information Modelling (BIM), as supporting tool to the management of historical heritage. By so, the aim of this work was the development of a management system to be used as a supporting tool to the maintenance and conservation of the existent buildings, in historical context, facilitating to the interested parties the automated and digitized information needed to carry out the most varied tasks, with the particularity to be directly connected to the 3D-BIM model of the building. But in order to test the developed system (its applicability and functionality), it was in an early phase, applied to a pilot project with the significant heritage value. This work follows a development methodology applied to the case study and had different phases: (1) the case study was modelled in Autodesk Revit software, in whose model was inserted all the parametric information and associated metadata; (2) then, a support database of the management system was developed in Microsoft SQL Server, which will support all the information exported from the BIM model; (3) a web application was developed in C# through Visual Studio 2015, which works through and application programming interface (API) allowing the communication between the web application and the BIM model, allowing not only the interaction with the parametric information of this one, but also, a persistent access to a data management system (drawings, inspection reports, specifications, etc.) that has been created. The development of the management system and its application to the case study allows us to show its potential as a tool for the historical heritage management, contributing to its permanent and constantly updated management and cross off the fragmentation and loss of information therefore reducing the consequent investment in data collection.

Abstract:
Purpose Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) positively represent the backbone of the European economic system and, negatively, they make a significant contribution to environmental pollution and social impacts. The purpose of this paper is to discuss how a new tool for supporting the adoption of small business social responsibility (SBSR) can be tailored in order to be more effective. Design/methodology/approach Theoretical framework – a literature analysis of how SMEs address sustainability issues will be discussed, especially the need for SME tools with the following features: quality, materiality, free of charge, anonymous, easy-to-use and easy to understand. This need has been confirmed by the literature of SBSR and also social accounting doctrine. Methodology – this paper analyzes CSR4UTOOL, an applied research project of a web-based application dedicated to SMEs in order to provide a self-assessment on sustainability performances. A technical paper aims to describe a specific development, technique or procedure that is capable of presenting a software tool or an experimental or computational method that should be well-tested and should preferably provide a solution to a problem and have some demonstrable practical values. Findings The recent studies over SBSR sustain the need of sustainability management tool for SMEs. A web-based tool co-designed and co-created with SMEs reveals the importance of new tools to support SBSR, especially for the global process of CSR downstreaming using a bottom-up perspective. Research limitations/implications Alongside the development of tailored, efficient tools to implement, manage, control and account for such social responsibilities, several authors have described organizational implications, managerial adaptations and practical features of such tools. As a technical paper, the aim of this research is to shed light on the new technology that has been adopted to solve a gap in both the literature and the real economy, and it answers to the specific call for SBSR tools. Practical implications CSR4UTOOL is based on a decision tree structure presenting several questions and indicators given by a profound benchmark of the most internationally well-known accountability standards. It translates accounting and non-accounting data as well as qualitative and quantitative data to a powerful source of information for entrepreneurs regarding their ethical and moral managerial conduct. A report on the performance of the company will be generated at the end of each session. Social implications This study has a practical social implication as it may concretely help entrepreneurs to self-assess their SBSR. IT technologies may represent a useful way to overcome the specific constraints on SMEs that when they are on track, they may also be more aware of the existent power of formalization in their social and environmental management practices. This kind of tool may help small entrepreneurs to be more aware of the fact that formalization may represent a strategic asset rather than a guarantee of morality. Originality/value This paper contributes to the literature by demonstrating how data collection over SBSR may be engineered and tailored using web application and ICT, even in a context of small businesses. This paper further responds to a call from Spence (2016) and Johnson et al. (2016) for interdisciplinary approaches to investigating sustainability in SMEs, the validation and application of existent theories on CSR within the context of SMEs, through foregrounding use of innovative software and web applications.

Abstract:
Smartphones<em>/</em>mobile devices are enduring all the aspects of human life. With the significant increase in demand for applications running on smartphones/mobile devices, developers and testers are anticipated to deliver high quality, on time and within budget applications. The estimation of development and testing provides a baseline and act as a tracking gear for stakeholders and developers. There are various approaches for estimation of traditional software development. But mobile applications are considered different from traditional software such as from those running on desktop, laptop or on the web. Many traditional estimation techniques used for these software are adapted to mobile domain. With agile software development (ASD) methodology, the scenario of development and estimation has changed drastically and so as mobile app development and estimation. This paper provides a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on traditional estimation techniques and agile estimation techniques applied in mobile software/application. Also, effort attributes and accuracy parameters for estimation in mobile apps are presented. However, to date, there are very fewer studies done on the mobile application estimation domain using agile methodology.

Purpose Quality managers today require a holistic, overreaching view on the organization and its goals in order to plan the quality management organization (QMO) effectively. The purpose of this paper is to present the concept of a web application that aims to support quality managers in organizational planning tasks. The basis for the implementation is a previously developed planning method that builds on Product and Technology Roadmapping as well as Quality Function Deployment. It supports the QMO’s strategic development in line with the organization’s overall strategy. Design/methodology/approach Based on previous research that systematically identified the requirements toward a suitable planning method and a consecutively designed framework, a web application was developed. This process followed agile software development approaches, including test-driven iteration cycles and validation through a case-based user trial. Findings Standardized quality criteria for software development together with identified requirements for a suitable planning method provided a specified guideline to develop a web application. This application enables quality managers to effectively deploy the previously developed planning method. It proved successful in an initial field trial and creates a basis for integrated, computer-aided QMO planning. Originality/value With an integrated planning method that was implemented through a web application, quality managers could be effectively supported in developing the QMO in line with the overall strategy. As organizational planning tasks are reoccurring but not day-to-day business, moderated workshops that use the web application as a guiding tool and enable quality managers to focus on delivering information inputs appear to be a highly promising approach.

Abstract:
The work is devoted to the development of a web-based support system for monitoring the implementation and management of small projects implemented according to the agile methodology (in particular, in the field of information technologies). Monitoring the implementation of projects is an important factor in their success, which in turn has a positive impact on the company's profits and the economy as a whole. Existing solutions in the field of project management were analyzed: the main models of project management were considered, as well as the main software tools for their implementation, their advantages and disadvantages. The task of developing a web-based system for monitoring and project management according to the Agile methodology was formed. The software tools for the system implementation were selected and the database structure was designed. The software of the server part was implemented using the architecture "model - view - controller", for which UML-diagrams of the relevant components of the system were developed. The developed server software uses a software interface with response to requests in JSON format, which allows you to further develop in addition to the web interface and mobile applications. The web interface implemented by the Angular framework implements basic functions for users and system administrators, such as entity management, authorization and registration, and includes an analytical tool for monitoring project performance, namely the burn-out chart. The developed software will be useful for small projects that use Agile methodologies, both partially and completely, and which do not require complex tools that require a long setup process. Implementing this system as a web-based application allows you to use it from both desktop computers and mobile devices.

In this article, a privacy-sensitive model that extends Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to provide privacy protection through fine-grained and just-in-time access control in Web information systems is proposed. Moreover, easy and effective mapping of corresponding components is recognized as an important factor for succeeding in matching security and privacy objectives. Such a process is proposed to be accomplished by capturing and modeling privacy requirements in the early stages of information system development. Therefore, a methodology for deploying the mechanisms of an access control system conforming to the proposed Privacy Improved Role-Based Access Control (PIRBAC) model is presented. To illustrate the application of the proposed methodology, an application example in the healthcare domain is described.

Abstract:
This paper describes results and reflects on the experience of engineering a secure web based system for the pre-employment screening domain. In particular, the paper presents results from a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between the School of Computing, IT and Engineering at the University of East London and the London-based award winning pre-employment company Powerchex Ltd. The Secure Tropos methodology, which is based on the principle of secure by design, has been applied to the project to guide the development of a web based system to support employment reference and background checking specifically for the financial services industry. Findings indicate the potential of the methodology for the development of secure web based systems, and support the argument of incorporating security considerations from the early stages of the software development process, i.e., the idea of secure by design. The developed system was tested by a third, independent to the project, party using a well known method of security testing, i.e., penetration testing, and the results provided did not indicate the presence of any major security problems. The experience and lessons learned by the application of the methodology to an industrial setting are also discussed in the paper.

Abstract:
MDA(Model Driven Architecture)[1] is model-centric software development methodology. Comparing to traditional code-centric method, MDA is closer to real applications, and it owns a higher level of abstraction. It has become an effective way to produce large scale software in heterogeneous environment, and it is widely used to develop web-based complex information systems [2]. Our paper applies MDA approach to design web system representation layer framework with instances, and extend UML model by MOF(Meta-Object Facility). We’ve also defined transform rules and realized the conversion from UML model to Web model. Our framework helps minimize the application code, reduces the dependence of the Servlet API, provides extensible interface, thus improve the efficiency of system development and maintenance.

Abstract:
A number of methodologies are available in literature for ontology development but as the Ontology engineering field is relatively new, it is still unclear how the existing ontology building methodologies can be applied to develop semantic ontology models. In this work, firstly an overview of various ontology building methodologies and their limitations as compared to some standard software development methodologies are presented. Then the methodology proposed by Ushold and King is selected to build an ontology in e-banking domain. The challenge in this domain is to recognize, communicate and steadily improvise the banking solutions. The ontologies are prospective candidates to assist overcome these challenges and enhance interoperability of banking data and services. The study aims to provide direction for the application of existing ontology building methodologies in the Semantic Web Development processes of e-banking domain specific models which would enable their reusability and repeatability in other projects and strengthen the adoption of semantic technologies in the domain.

Abstract:
This study aims to implement the database design used in thesis data processing using Flask. The results of the database design produce four tables, namely the lecturer table is used to store lecturer data, the student table is used to store student data, the title of thesis table is used to store data related to student thesis and the guidance table contains history during guidance with the supervisor, The design of the thesis data processing database was developed using Flask. Flask is a web framework written in Python. Flask serves as the application framework and the interface of the web-based flask application. In this research, the methodology used is to implement database development which consists of system analysis, logical design, physical design and implementation. The database design methodology is carried out by 1. Building a local conceptual data design based on user views, 2. Building and validating local logical data models, 3. Building and validating logical data models, 4. Translating logical data models for the database management system, 5. Designing and implementation of physical representation. The results show that the process of creating a thesis data management database can be done using the Flask framework. The development process using the flask framework includes the process of creating databases, tables and reading, adding, repairing and deleting data. In making the application, the application is divided into 2, namely the application used for database management and the application used to display website-based results that are used to display the results of data processing from the application. Implementation of data structures in the database design and applications used include programming language: Python 3.7.0, framework for displaying web-based data: Flask 1.1.2, and database management system using SQLite.
