Abstract:
Abstract Between 1999 and 2004, with reverberations until 2011, several Moluccan islands (Indonesia) faced violent clashes between Christians and Muslims. Based on 79 interviews, this article seeks to understand how people from both religious groups look back at the conflict, 12 years after the Malino II peace treaty was signed in 2002. We identified three major conflict-related themes that continued to come to the fore during the interviews: explanations about causes of the conflict, religion-related justifications of violence and miracle stories. Most interviewees indicated that the causes of the conflict were non-religious, but rather political. Religion-related language however was frequently used to justify violence as self-defense while miracles-stories were often part of war-narratives. Looking back, Christians and Muslims still understood their communities as injured and victimized. The ‘right to protect’ one’s community as a threatened Christian or Muslim community prevailed in most stories although the source of this threat was not always clear.

Abstract:
This article discusses the problem of depicting the image of war people in the stories of U. Hoshimov. The issue is in the author’s “The Last Victim of War” and “Why, why-a-a?!” learned from stories. The basic tasks of the article are through these stories to analyze the artistic interpretation of the people of war on a scientific basis, to classify the features of the images of people of war. In the course of the analysis, examples were given from the literary text of the works and the ideas were substantiated. At the end of the article, the results obtained as a result of the analysis is summarized.

Abstract:
This three-part collection of personal memories was inspired by Otto Dix's triptych ‘The War’ (1929-1932). The horrors of war and presence of death Dix exposed in his painting form the implicit point of reference for three short stories of reconciliation in and after the Second World War. The three auto/biographical memories by and ‘as told to’ the author celebrate forgiveness and humaneness among ordinary people in and after times of war as the one way to survive and continue life after the pain and losses caused by war, which are not part of the stories. The condensed form of the triptych recalls Dix's painting as well as the sacredness of suffering and reconciliation as symbolized by conventional Crucifixion triptychs.
