Abstract:
BACKGROUND: The most numerous group from children due to perinatal burden is a group of prematurely born children and whose number continues to increase constantly. The children have higher probability of health problems and they are at risk of a complex threat to their successful development. Premature childbirth is a complicated difficult life situation for parents. Strongly reduced mental well- being is often developed at these parents and sometimes even some clinical symptoms (especially depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder). Such parenting (as well as other factors) greatly diminishes the overall interaction and communication with the child (especially their sensitivity and responsiveness) which can also be reflected in the parental style. AIM: The aim of the empirical part was to describe the occurrence of individual educational styles in healthy preterm infants 8-12 years old. METHODS: A Questionnaire of parental styles for children between the ages of 8 and 12 was used for this purpose (Čáp, Čechová & Boschek, 2000). RESULTS: A sample of 35 children showed that the most perceived parental style was a style characterized by a negative emotional relationship combined with a strong direction. The work deals whit a family, its different types, functions and influenceson a child development. There is charactersed an endangerad family in the first part,too. Next it describes various parent positions, roles and their risk factors in education. In the third part there is written about the situations, when a family becomes incomplete - because of a parent or death or divorce. It is focused on child feelings after the loss of its parent. Abstract:
This Diploma Thesis deals with the style of education in contemporary Czech family. The aims of this thesis are to ascertain how educational style diverge in generations, which stimuli affect it and determine the changes in relationship between parent and child. In the theoretical part of the paper the terms family, generation and educational style are defined. The practical part reveals the fact that education style of contemporary parents is more liberal than the one of previous generation. Thus, the shift from parent-child to partner relationship can be observed. This relationship supports the parent's positive attitude towards their child and frankness in mutual discussions. A result of previous statement is also the change of teacher-pupil realtionship where the similar stimuli can be observed. (in English) The design of the research pedagogical project deals with the way of raising children in families where the mother has university degree in education and in families where the parents do not have an education degree or teaching practice. The work focuses on discoverin differences in the upbringing of children in the sample families. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes definitons of key terms, characteristics of parental upbringing and educational styles. Firtstly, the work is focused on the issues of education from the point of view of the family, followed by characteristics of the teacher, his personality, typology of teaching styles, pedagogical skills and professional competence. The topic of the diploma work is the influence of the late parenthood on the style of upbringing. Late parenthood offers experience of the mature parent oriented in time who is aware of the responsibility towards oneself and towards thle child. Mental maturity and life experience determine attitude of the parent to upbringing. In my work I concentrate on healthy families which make the most suitable environment for the upbringing of the children. The natural environment of the healthy, functional family greatly influences the complexity of the impact in educational interaction between parents and the child.

The thesis aims to find out the general public's views on raising children within the family, and to compare it with selected psychological research. The theoretical part is a review of several studies over recent years dealing with a child's upbringing in a family, selected so as to reflect the views of the general public, specifically parents, and responds to these themes from a professional point of view. The empirical part attempts to explore the values, attitudes, and opinions of parents on key educational situations, using a questionnaire method. The thesis investigates current trends among parents' child-rearing methods within the Czech Republic, and compares them with the current findings of modern psychological research on education in the family.

Since professional identity is an inseparable part of self, a career choice is one of the most important steps in life. Therefore vocational guidance is the up-to-date subject matter in counseling process. The theoretical part of the theses includes basic characteristics of development in adolescence, family characteristics, various styles of family discipline, and outputs of previous researches that deal with the impact of family on adolescents career choice. Besides that it takes into account specifics of career choice among students of a grammar school, who are the target group of the empirical part of the theses. The experimental group is formed by 62 final grades students from the grammar school in Jindichv Hradec who are in age range 18-20 years. Research results did not show any significant relation between style of family discipline and further vocational orientation of students. The only significant correlation was proved for emotional relationship between a father and a child and their level of communication about choosing a college and future vocation. Further findings point to correlation between parents expectation, their level of education and their childs career choice. These findings support conclusions made by previous researches. The main goal of this disertation is to update knowledge about common activities of parents and adolescents in the context of family education (Gillern, 2009), which could help current counseling practices and expansion of knowledge about educational interactions in the family. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the knowledge of the effects of common realized interests of parents and adolescents, and to find out under what conditions and circumstances they occur. The theoretical part of this thesis consists of three chapters. First chapter deals with important adults during adolescence, the second chapter focuses on family upbringing while the third chapter deals with common activities during free time. The research part presents the results of quantitative research, supplemented by semi- structured interviews with several students. Adolescents were asked what activities they do in their free time, with whom they perform them, and how the actual implementation differs from their wishes. Current parenting styles according to the nine-field model were also examined. At the end of the work, the results of the research part are discussed and the findings of the research survey are summarized. The diploma thesis on the topic "Current parental trends in education" reveals the latest educational trends in contemporary parents such as: Tiger Upbringing, Contact Parenting, Education through non-education or Education without Losers. For each type of education, the basic elements and pillars on which upbringing is based are characterized. At the same time the diploma thesis focuses on rewards and punishments in education, where it describes the newly emerging educational currents - upbringing without punishments and upbringing without punishments and rewards. It also finds out the difference between motivation and manipulation in education and how these two educational elements work. The last point in the theoretical part is to determine the possible reasons why some current parents choose a different type of upbringing than the one they were used to in childhood. In the practical part a questionnaire survey was chosen, which educational style is the most preferred by our selected parents. It also focused on the relationship between original and contemporary upbringing, whether there is any connection between the upbringing experienced by parents in childhood and then the upbringing they now apply to their children. Thesis is concerned with the transmission of values and norms in the family. The goal is to quantify the level of transmission of values between children and parents. The second step is to identify what impact on transmission of value in the family has education of parents and parenting style, which apply to a child during adolescence. Underpinning the findings is the analysis of data file "Cultural and value orientations 2008", which is unique in that it includes real families (parents and their adult children). Attention is focused on the values for different levels of generality (the value frameworks, value orientations, attitudes and norms) and education in the family as a source of values. Analysis shows a high degree of agreement between parents and their children in the sphere of values. As the main variables that affect the transmission of values were identified education of parents and parenting style.

The main aim of this work is to focus on the style of parenting from the child/juvenile and adult perspectives. The work focuses on the analysis between the style of parenting in typologies and its influence on the child development and the juvenile delinquency. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part summarizes the results and findings of other researchers about the problematic of style of parenting in typologies and its influence on the child development. The theoretical part is based on the studies of an American author Diana Baumrind and on the division of the parenting style proposed by authors Maccoby and Martins. They suggested four different styles: authoritarian, authoritative, indulgent and neglectful. The empirical part analyses following sets of data: One comes from the survey hold in the city of Pilsen in the year 1999 and was arranged by the department of Criminal Justice on the juveniles between the age 14 up to 17. (in English) In the text of this diploma thesis, the author deals with the realization of healthy lifestyle education within the family and the school. Firstly, this thesis sorts accessible information about health and a healthy lifestyle. It looks into the family and school environments, their interaction, and the possibilities to a healthy lifestyle. It describes the main principles of the "Healthy School" program, a health support program, in the following areas: environment, healthy teaching and learning, and open partnership. The aim of the thesis was to determine whether the elementary school Lesní in Liberec still employs the Healthy School program, which it has been involved in since 2002, for its healthy lifestyle teaching. Structured observation via observation sheets, in-depth interview and school documents analysis were used in the case study. The findings are stated in the practical part of the thesis which brings a real perspective on the healthy lifestyle education on the particular school and the issues that may be connected with it.

This dissertation deals with the contradiction between the situation, in which the development of healthcare, transformation of the political system and the changes in the environment, has had a major influence on the fact that we are now experiencing a higher age than people at the beginning of the period under review (since 1945). This gives us a sense of assurance of longevity, but the contradiction arises in reality, that lies in the perspective of chronic life, which eliminates us from the ordinary life very soon. Despite this fact, a number of countries have succeeded in achieving higher age limits, but a high age is not a reflection of better health, which reflects a main contradiction between expectations and reality, and it is the main research problem of this dissertaiton at the same time. The goal of this disertation was to find out the evolution of conditions of healthy lifestyle of individuals in the Czech society, between years 1945 and 2016. The thesis deals with leisure time in families with pre-school children in the region of the city Pelhřimov. It desribes conception of the leisure time in families with one or more children. The theoretic part talks about family, follows up its meanings and functions in human life. There is a short description of development of the family in modern time and some specifics of the families with younger preschool children too. Then there are desribed relationships in family (depending on the number of children in the family) and an intergenerational learning process. The next section is devoted to leisure time and its role in human life. We will find there a definition of a leisure time, a brief look at the historical evolution of this phenomenon in modern time and some of its specifics in contemporary family life. The work next deals with some socio-psychological characteristics of younger pre-school children with regard for leisure time. There are written some characteristics of the Pelhřimov?s region related to leisure time. The researching part of the work describes how the conception of the leisure time looks in the family of younger pre-school children in the Pelhřimov?s region. It highlights some of the differences in the conception among families with one or more children too. In a selected population sample survey was carried out using semi-structured interviews. This diploma thesis Family environment and adolescent alcohol consumpiton deals with a relationship between four dimensions of family environment and alcohol consumption of sixteen years old adolescents. These four dimensions are leisure time, family structure, parenting style and socioeconomic status. In the theoretical part family influence on child's development is described and then socialization process through which family influence child's development is delimited. Further, the relationship between family environment and alcohol consumption is discussed and then four dimensions of family environment are characterized in context of alcohol consumption. Relationship between family environment and alcohol consumption was studied using mixed research design. In the main quantitative part of the thesis general relationships between chosen dimensions of family environment and alcohol consumption indicators were examined using data from European School Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD) from the year 2007. Then a typology of adolescent alcohol consumers was made. Results of this part continued in the qualitative part. The given Diploma Thesis focuses on social environment in the families with disabled children. The first three chapters describe the process of socialization and its impact on human development, then a family creating an environment for primary socialization and finally the third chapter describes examples of physical disabilities and specifics related to socialization of disabled people. This phenomena, examined and verified through the qualitative research, constitutes the issue of the fourth chapter. The qualitative survey is based on semi-structured interviews, followed by their open-coding assessment. The survey demonstrates changes, both in the family and in the family´s social environment, which occurred after the birth of a child with physical disability, or after detecting a diagnosis as a consequence of the acquired disability. The topic in question also discusses difficulties associated with care of a children with physical disability, as for the time, mental, social and other requirements.

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to analyze the parent-child relationship in selected novels by Anita Desai. The novels chosen for the analysis are Cry, the Peacock; Clear Light of Day; Fire on the Mountain; Fasting, Feasting. The aim of the theoretical part is, firstly, to introduce Anita Desai and her style of writing, secondly, to lay the theoretical basis for further analysis of the attachment between children and their parents. In this part the author presents the Attachment theory, behavioural patterns and parenting styles (authoritarian, authoritative, permissive, uninvolved). The theoretical part is concluded by a portrait of Indian society and typical Indian family structure - the environment in which Desai's protagonists live. The practical part consists of thorough analysis of the selected novels. The analysis shows Desai's tendency to portray such parenting styles that instil insecurity in children. The results prove that these approaches to raising a child affect the personality development negatively. It was interesting to find out that gender bias influences not only the life-path and self-concept of the protagonists but also the quality of their relationship with their parents.

This thesis deals with the value orientation and life plans of children and adolescents who are placed into young offenders' institutions because of their behavioural disorders. The theoretical part elucidates basic conceptions related to values and value orientations. It applies to individual development, family issues and education, behavioural disorders and refers to the difficulty of education and re-education in school facilities for the practice of institutional and protective education. The empirical part is a combination of a quantitative and a qualitative research. The questionnaire survey was used to determine the value orientation, life goals, preferred leisure activities, some attitudes and information about clients from the young offenders' institutions. The questionnaires were handed over to respondents from the six children's homes with school and young offenders' institutions. The established values hierarchy and life goals were compared with the results of a similar research. The unstructured interviews with children ending the compulsory education were mainly focused on the choice of study and career orientation. The thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical part consists of four chapters, empirical investigation, the practical part.Chapter one focuses on the notion of family and its importance. Except for clarification of the concept are described the basic characteristics of the family now, basic functions of the family and educational styles. Conclusion of the firts chapter looks at the family as a potential risk factor of development and socio-pathological behavior in children and adolescents. The second chapter explains the basic concepts of social deviance and social pathology and describes the main causes of social pathologies. The third chapter describes the various social pathologies, which pose the greatest risk for the age group of children and adolescents. There are described in more detail: dependence on psychoactive substances, aggression and violence, vandalism, bullying, cyber crime and delinquency and pathological gambling. The fourth chapter is devoted to prevention, especially for a preventive action in the family. Practical part is an empirical investigation, in which the case study of ten children and adolescents who have committed some form of pathological behavior.

The introductory theoretical part is focused on a description of the explored subject-matter, the aim was to submit a comprehensive perspective on this disease and outline a relevant psychological basis for the empirical enquiry. The second empirical part is focused on the intrinsic aspects of the experience of this disease in children and adolescents. The quantitative research was designed to map out the specific phenomena, incidence of depressive symptoms and family upbringing style. The quantitative research is complemented by a qualitative inquiry with the aim to get further into depth of the issue by means of two case studies. These were focused on the overall experience related to the diagnosis of atopic eczema. The final part reflects acquired findings and the conclusive discussion summarizes the results of the exploratory assumptions including the limits and the possibilities of future psychological work with this disease. The diploma thesis named "Dilemmas of social workers during assessing of educational methods in families with lower elementary school age children". The goal of the thesis is find to the answer: "Which dilemmas deal social workers during assessing of educational methods in families with lower elementary school age children? ". The theoretical part of this thesis describes the social work with families, its development and dilemmas that each can bring social work. It also deals with the family and its development. It also focuses on inadequate educational styles in the family that may affect child development. The practical part is focused on the process of assessing families. Thanks to the semi- structured interviews with social workers are trying to map this difficult process and dilemmas that social workers in this work can be experienced.

Abstract:
Thesis Transgeneration transfer of aggressive behaviour in families as a cause of domestic violence has theoretically - empirical nature and is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is defined by the family, its functions, types, and family pathology is described in the context of domestic violence and CAN syndrome. The central chapters of this section also deal with educational styles, parental attitudes, characteristics of domestic violence and child development in families with the occurrence of domestic violence. The practical part includes a qualitative analysis of documents, families affected by domestic violence, held at the Municipal Office Prachatice, department of Social and legal protection of children. The analysis examined whether these families can be considered the transgeneration transfer patterns of behaviour and styles of upbringing family to multiply family. The analysis is complemented by interviewed case study.
