Abstract:
This theses deals with flow of two immisible fluid in horizontal pipeline. First part teoretically describes immisible flow. What follows is experimental measurement in wich experimental track was adjusted for inlet of oil from the top. Water and corn germ oil were used as fluids. There were observed many modes of flow on the track. After that PIV was described and measured. PIV was done for measurement of values of velocity vectors. Simulation of one chosen mode was developed in the last chapter. This simulation was done in Ansys Fluent with help of VOF method. Simulation was done both in 3D and 2D pipeline. In the end these simulation were compared with experiment measurement and were critically evaluated.

Abstract:
This thesis explores the topic of flow of two immiscible liquids in horizontal pipeline. For this purpose, the experimental apparatus has been set up, that allows to observe the flow of mixture through the transparent pipe. Moderately viscous oil and water (viscosity ratio: 52,81, density ratio: 0.86, interfacial tension: 41,64 mN/m) have been chosen for the experiment. Both fluids were introduced into the pipe through a T-junction. At the end of the apparatus, a mixture of liquids flowed into the separation tank, where both phases were separated. The separated oil was then reused for further measurements. The oil and water flow rates could be individually changed by use control valves, that led to identification of different flow regimes. These varied from stratified flows to fully dispersed ones as the mixture speed increased. All observed flow regimes were plotted in the flow map, that is a function of the inlet velocities of both fluids. For further analysis, a second type of flow map has been created that displays rates as a function of mixture velocity and phase volume fraction. Selected regime was also simulated using software ANSYS FLUENT. The VOF method was used to simulate multiphase flow. This thesis critically evaluates the results of the study and shows the direction for further research in the field of immiscible liquids flow.

Abstract:
Este trabalho descreve o protocolo de adaptação ATM do tipo 2 (AAL2), e expõe as mudanças que foram realizadas no simulador de rede ATM com a finalidade de estudá-lo. É proposto que se conheça melhor este novo padrão, planejado para baixa taixa de transferência e multiplexação de usuários e pode contribuir nos serviços de tráfego de voz, quando ocorre a integração de diversas aplicações que é o objetivo da B-ISDN. Após algumas explanações sobre o ATM em geral, é descrita de forma detalhada a recomendação I.362 que padroniza o novo AAL. É explicado o comportamento da máquina de estados de transmissão, e como ocorre a temporização para carregar diversos pacotes de voz numa mesma célula. Como foi idealizado para a classe de serviços do tipo VBR em tempo real, comentam-se alguns mecanismos próprios do AAL2 para controle de tráfego e sua influência. Descreve-se a subcamada SSCS proposta para pacotes longos, recentemente padronizada. São apresentados alguns artigos e estudos realizados sobre o AAL2 que descreve quantitativamente o ganho esperado pelo protocolo e levanta algumas questões comparando-o ao AAL1. Por ter sido inicialmente uma necessidade da telefonia celular, realiza-se um breve comentário de estudos dirigidos para a área. Com o intuito de realizar a simulação do protocolo, foi utilizado o simulador de redes ATM, desenvolvido pelo NIST, que possui certas qualidades desejadas para este trabalho, porém, foram necessárias realizar modificações para implementar a camada AAL que não estava prevista na arquitetura original dele. Para se criar um ambiente de testes propício, e com a preocupação de não corromper o funcionamento padrão, foram criadas estruturas semelhantes às existentes e realizadas mudanças sutis, reconhecidas normalmente pelo simulador original. A partir destas simulações, pretende-se deixar uma ferramenta para fazer análises deste protocolo; utilizando modelos de tráfego de voz, a fim de obter informações do seu comportamento. No entanto, este estudo limitou-se somente a demonstrar a verificação e validação do simulador a partir dos resultados gerados. Para verificar a integridade do código fonte original foram utilizados os exemplos do próprio NIST e assim garantir que nada foi alterado. Além disso, o novo módulo foi comparado a norma através de um "debug". Na validação, devido ao fato de não existir uma rede real montada e disponível para testes, foram empregados artigos para comparar os resultados e demonstrar a boa aproximação obtida. Acredita-se que desta forma obteve-se o resultado desejado de um ambiente para estudo e compreensão do AAL2 e que, futuramente, pode ser usado para todos os protocolos da camada AAL.

Le sillage d’un rotor est difficile à modéliser, et a un impact significatif pour la dynamiquedu vol des voilures tournantes, leurs vibrations, leurs propriétés acoustiques... De nombreuxmodèles existent, mais le plus utilisé pour l’application à la mécanique du vol est lemodèle à états finis développé par Peters et al. Ce type de modèle permet d’ajuster le prixen temps de calcul et la fidélité de leurs résultats à chaque application. Cette thèse explorele développement de ces modèles et en souligne quelques défauts. Des améliorationssont suggérées mais il semble nécessaire d’appliquer des changements plus drastiques pourdépasser certaines limites. Ainsi, une nouvelle méthode est développée dans un cadre plusgénérale et homogène, qui ne repose plus sur des hypothèses contraignantes. Cependantce nouveau modèle n’est pas sans défauts. Ils sont donc analysés et traités afin d’améliorerle modèle. Le nouveau modèle livre donc de bons résultats dans le cas d’un grand nombred’éléments utilisés, et l’impact d’une approximation plus rapide mais moins précise estsouligné
The rotor wake of a rotorcraft is difficult to model, and shows significant importance for the flight dynamics of the aircraft, vibration, acoustics,... Numerous models exist, but the most successful ones for the application to flight mechanics are the finite states models of Peters et al. They allow to tailor the computational cost and fidelity of the model to each application. This thesis explores their development and underlines some shortcomings. A few improvements are suggested, but it appears that a more drastic change is required to intrinsically account for some phenomena. Therefore a new method is proposed to develop a more general and homogeneous model, no longer relying on constraining assumptions. This model is however not deprived of flaws. They are therefore treated in order to improve the presented model. The new model shows great results when a large number of states are used, and the impact of a less precise but faster approximation are underlined

Abstract:
Die Präsentation stellt kurz die Grundlagen der Berechnung von Schraubenverbindungen in Anlehnung an die VDI-Richtlinie 2230 Teil 1 dar. Auch die vier FEM-Modellklassen, die die VDI 2230 Teil 2 (Entwurf) zur Berechnung von Mehrschraubenverbindungen vorschlägt, werden behandelt, und die in Creo Simulate vorhandenen Softwarefeatures zu deren Umsetzung vorgestellt. Es folgt eine Darstellung, was bei der Linearisierung von Schraubenverbindungen zur vereinfachten Berechnung zu beachten ist, und wieso bei der Berechnung im FEM-System dann nicht notwendigerweise eine Vorspannung benötigt wird. Ausführlich wird das neue Schraubenfeature in Creo Simulate betrachtet, das eine weitgehend automatisierte Modellierung und Berechnung von Standardverschraubungen erlaubt. Weitere Features, wie die neuen Vorspannelemente, werden erläutert, sowie auch die Grenzen der Software aufgezeigt. Abschließend werden zwei anspruchsvolle Anwendungsbeispiele vorgestellt: Eine zentrisch belastete Verschraubung mit Berücksichtigung von Elasto-Plastizität und einer komplexen Lasthistorie (Anziehen durch Anzugsmoment, Setzeffekte, Entfall des Torsionsmomentes durch das Anziehen, Betriebskraft) sowie eine exzentrisch belastete Verschraubung, die wegen eines relativ dünnen Flansches starke Biegezusatzbeanspruchungen erfährt
The presentation shows the foundations of bolt analysis according to VDI-guideline 2230 part 1. In addition, the four FEM model classes proposed in VDI 2230 part 2 (draft) are described, as well as the features available in Creo Simulate to realize these model classes. Next, the presentation shows the requirements for linearizing bolted connections, and why in a FEM analysis with a linearized connection no preload is necessary. The new fastener feature introduced in Creo Simulate is explained in detail. This feature allows the automated modeling and analysis of bolted connections having standard geometry. Further software features, like pretension elements, as well as the current software limitations are shown. Finally, two advanced application examples are shown: A centrically loaded bolted connection taking into account elasto-plasticity and a complex load history (tightening torque, embedding, removal of tightening stress, operational load), and an eccentrically loaded flange connection, which is subjected to high additional bending loads because the flange is relatively thin

Produkte werden in ihrem Lebenszyklus verschiedenartig strukturmechanisch belastet. Die Folge ist eine Verformung aufgrund dieser Belastung und die mangelnde Formhaltigkeit. Die Frage ist, welche Toleranzen sollen die mangelnde Formhaltigkeit einschließen oder gar ausgleichen? Eine Toleranz gibt vor, in welcher Maßabweichung ein Maß gefertigt werden darf, um die Produktanforderungen zu erfüllen. Der Fertigungsprozess muss innerhalb der Toleranzangabe fertigen. Mit Creo Simulate kann eine Toleranzkette simuliert werden. In diesem Vortrag wird ein grundsätzlicher Simulationsansatz für die Toleranzanalyse innerhalb der FEM beschrieben und findet eine Ergänzung mit der Toleranzsoftware CETOL 6σ.

Le présent travail de Doctorat porte sur l’adaptation et le déconditionnement cardiovasculaire chez l’astronaute en microgravité réelle prolongée, en microgravité simulée de courte durée (avec et sans contremesures par hypergravité), et en confinement de longue durée. Afin de répondre à cette thématique, 3 études expérimentales sur l’humain ont été réalisées, et de fait, ce présent travail de Doctorat se divise en 3 parties distinctes. La première est la mission « Mars 500 » qui comprend un confinement de 520 jours de 6 sujets-volontaires. La seconde est le projet « Vessel Imaging » qui comprend un vol spatial respectif de 6 mois à bord de la « Station Spatiale Internationale (ISS) » de 10 sujets-astronautes. This PhD work focuses on astronaut cardiovascular adaptation and deconditioning in real prolonged microgravity, short simulated microgravity (with and without countermeasures) and long-term confinement. To answer to this topic 3 humans experimental studies have been performed, and thus the present PhD work is divided into 3 distinct parts . Abstract:
Eine HPLC-Methode zur simultanen Bestimmung des Sulfons Dapson, dem Hauptmetabolit Monoacetyldapson und dem Dihydrofolsäurereduktasehemmer Pyrimethamin wurde entwickelt. Als Probenaufbereitung konnte eine Festphasen-extraktion mit C18-Röhrchen etabliert werden. Konsekutiv wurden die Parameter der HPLC systematisch variiert und optimiert. Die chromatographische Trennung erfolgte als Gradientenelution mit Methanol, Acetonitril und 5,0 mmol/l Hexansulfonsäure als mobile Phase. Sulfadimethoxin kam als interner Standard zum Einsatz. Als optimale Detektionswellenlängen wurden 295 nm (DDS, MADDS, IS) und 210 nm (PYR) ermittelt. Die gesamte analytische Methode zeichnet sich durch einen effizienten Probendurchsatz sowie eine hohe Spezifität, Sensibilität und Präzision aus (Eljaschewitsch E; Padberg J; Schürmann D; Ruf B 11/1996). Zur Prophylaxe der bei HIV-infizierten Patienten häufigen opportunistischen Infektionen Pneumocystis carinii-Pneumonie und Toxoplasma gondii-Enzephalitis wurden 100 mg Dapson, 25 mg Pyrimethamin und 15 mg Folinsäure zweimal pro Woche gegeben. Die steady-state Plasmaspiegel von DDS, MADDS und PYR wurden aus 224 Blutproben von 31 HIV-seropositiven Patienten bestimmt. Die medianen Plasmakonzentrationen der als compliant klassifizierten Patienten erreichten 1162 ng/ml für DDS und 331 ng/ml für PYR am Einnahmetag. Die medianen Talspiegel vor der nächsten Tabletteneinnahme lagen bei 136 ng/ml für DDS und 230 ng/ml für PYR. Insgesamt zeigten die Plasmakonzentrationen der HIV-seropositiven Patienten eine Übereinstimmung mit den pharmakokinetischen Daten gesunder Probanden. Lediglich absolute Höhe der Dapsonspiegel war vergleichsweise niedrig. Aus dem MADDS/DDS-Quotienten konnte der individuelle Acetyliererphänotyp der Patienten ermittelt werden. Die Verteilung in 58,6% langsame und 41,4% schnelle Acetylierer entspricht der Häufigkeit in der Normalbevölkerung weißer Hautfarbe. In der als non-compliant klassifizierten Gruppe erkrankte ein Patient an zerebraler Toxoplasmose. Bei den als compliant eingestuften Patienten hingegen trat keine Toxoplasma gondii-Enzephalitis auf. Die Prophylaxe der Pneumocystis carinii-Pneumonie versagte jedoch bei einem als compliant bestimmten Patienten. Die gut dokumentierten Plasmaspiegel von DDS und PYR lagen bei dem betreffenden Patienten kontinuierlich in einem hohen Bereich.

Abstract:
The reduction in energy consumption is nowadays of increasing importance also within the field of waste water treatment. In combination with increasing requirements for the WWTP (waste water treatment plant) outlet quality, the energy optimization becomes very challenging for the plants operators. This thesis presents possible approaches to the energy optimization and summarizes technologies and measures, where some of them are in the research phase while others are already implemented successfully. In particular, the contribution of the activation tanks aeration process to the overall energy consumption of a plant is highlighted. A change in the aeration control is tested using a mathematical model of WWTP in Mikulov, South Moravia in Czech Republic. In the new setting the aeration is regulated based on the concentration of nitrogen compounds in the activation tank. There is also a brief survey of the energy consumption of the plant and an outline of other possible energy conservation measures.

L'accroissement des performances des projectiles genere des phenomenes aerothermiques redhibitoires. L'etude de l'echauffement des materiaux et de ses consequences deviennent un probleme majeur, notamment au niveau de l'ogive et des ailettes. Deux approches ont ete developpees. La premiere approche concerne le developpement d'un modele (vulcain) bidimensionnel couple simplifie: une approche de type chocs-detente pour l'ecoulement, la resolution de l'equation bidimensionnelle de la chaleur discretisee par la methode des differences finies, l'utilisation d'un schema implicite aux directions alternees (adi) et de l'algorithme de thomas pour la resolution et l'utilisation de flux de chaleur semi-empiriques de type kemp et riddell et van driest pour la determination des conditions aux limites. La deuxieme approche concerne le developpement d'un modele (aero) couple euler-couche limite laminaire-conduction dans le materiau. Les equations ont ete discretisees par la methode des volumes finis. Le schema implicite de gauss-seidel a ete utilise. La logique de resolution des equations de conservation a ete definie a partir de l'algorithme simple mis au point par patankar. Les conditions aux limites sont donnees par le calcul euler a la frontiere exterieure de la couche limite, et par l'adherence et l'egalite des flux de chaleur a la paroi du materiau. La validation numerique des modeles developpes a ete realisee sur plaque plane, sur plaque epaisse et dans le cas d'une ogive parabolique pour differents materiaux

Resumo: O uso de telefone celular durante a condução de automóvel é uma causa importante de risco aumentado de acidentes. Distratores, como conversar ao telefone celular no modo viva-voz ou segurando o equipamento na mão, interferem no mecanismo atencional, e tendem a perturbar o comportamento perceptual e motor dos motoristas. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito distrator de usar o telefone celular (condições viva-voz e na mão) sobre o comportamento perceptivo-motor de motoristas durante a direção simulada de automóvel. Dez motoristas novatos e dez experientes tiveram a cinemática de olhos e cabeça mensurada enquanto dirigiam em um simulador de direção sob condições de 80-120 km/h de velocidade, luz do dia, trajetória linear e baixo nível de tráfego. De modo geral, os resultados mostraram que o número de fixações aumentou, o tempo relativo de fixação diminuiu, a variância horizontal e vertical do olhar, a variância da posição e da orientação da cabeça aumentou durante as condições de uso do celular viva-voz e na mão, comparadas à condição controle (sem conversa). Efeitos dos grupos de experiência não foram observados. Em suma, conversar ao telefone celular tende a perturbar a atenção devido à diminuição da estabilidade de olho e da cabeça; consequentemente, à obtenção de informação visual relevante para a segurança da direção. Abstract: Using a mobile phone while driving a car is an important cause of increase ed risk of accidents. Distractors such as talking on a cell phone in speakerphone mode or holding the device in hand interfere in the attentional mechanism and tend to disrupt drivers' perceptual and motor behavior. The aim of this study was to evaluate the distractor effect of using a cell phone (speakerphone mode and in hand conditions) on drivers' perceptual-motor behavior during simulated car driving. Ten novices and ten experienced drivers had eyes and head kinematics measured while driving in a driver simulator under conditions of 80-120 Km/h velocity, day light, linear trajectory, and low traffic level. Generally, results showed that number of fixations increased, relative fixation time decreased, horizontal and vertical gaze variance increased, and variance of head position and orientation increased during both speakerphone mode and in hand conditions of mobile phone use, as compared to the control (no talking) condition. Effects of experience group were not observed. In sum, talking on a mobile phone tend to disturb attention due to decrease in eyes and head stability and, consequently, pickup of relevant visual information for safety driving. Areas of study as ergonomic design can effectively help in the planning of equipment or devices that meet the cognitive, perceptual and motor drivers' demands, contributing to road safety.
