Abstract:
The general (α,t)-path connectivity index of a molecular graph originates from many practical problems such as three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity (3D QSAR) and molecular chirality. It is defined as Rtα(G)=∑Pt=vi1vi2⋯vit+1⊆G[d(vi1)d(vi2)⋯d(vit+1)]α, where the summation is taken over all possible paths of length t of G and we do not distinguish between the paths vi1vi2⋯vit+1 and vit+1⋯vi2vi1. In this paper, we focus on the structures of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHn), which play a role in organic materials and medical sciences. We try to compute the exact general (α,3)-path connectivity indices of this family of hydrocarbon structures. Furthermore, we exactly derive the monotonicity and the extremal values of R3α(PAHn) for any real number α. These valuable results could produce strong guiding significance to these applied sciences.

Objectives: To determine the outcome of vitamin deficiency in local populationof (Hyderabad), come with complaints of vague symptoms of body ache, bony pain with noco morbidity. Study design: cross-sectional study. Place and duration of study: OutpatientDepartment of Liquat University Medical Science, Hyderabad. Period: 6-2-2013 to 6-2-2015.Methodology: This is observational cross sectional study conducted at out patient’s department(LUMHS) city Hyderabad from 6-2-13 to 6-2-2015. Preliminary data was collected with the helpof self-administered questionnaires which include patient’s history and examination and bloodsample is taken for assessing level of dehydrocholecalciferol with serum calcium and routinetest. Data entered in spss 20 version, analytical software were applied for results in this study.Result: This study is conducted in 300 pts, among these 60% female and 36.7% male and 3.3%missing. Patients selected through (OPD) with consent and preformed proforma. Vitamin ddeficiency found nearly 96%in all the patient from young age to old age 4% were missing, lessthan 10 level found in 24.7%(severe deficiency), 10-20 level seen 54.7%(moderate deficiency)and 20-30 found in 14.7% (mild deficiency). Conclusion: my results shows that ( vitaminD-deficiency) is big dilemma in our community, give rise mild, moderate and severe decreasedlevel which leads complication which causing rickets in children and osteomalcia in adults,increase mortality and morbidity in local population.

Abstract:
Vitamin D (vit D) has anti-inflammatory properties and modulates lung growth, but whether vit D can prevent lung injury after exposure to antenatal inflammation is unknown. We hypothesized that early and sustained vit D treatment could improve survival and preserve lung growth in an experimental model of bronchopulmonary dysplasia induced by antenatal exposure to endotoxin (ETX). Fetal rats (E20) were exposed to ETX (10 μg), ETX + Vit D (1 ng/ml), or saline (control) via intra-amniotic (IA) injections and delivered 2 days later. Newborn pups exposed to IA ETX received daily intraperitoneal injections of vit D (1 ng/g) or saline for 14 days. Vit D treatment improved oxygen saturations (78 vs. 87%; P < 0.001) and postnatal survival (84% vs. 57%; P < 0.001) after exposure to IA ETX compared with IA ETX alone. Postnatal vit D treatment improved alveolar and vascular growth at 14 days by 45% and 25%, respectively ( P < 0.05). Vit D increased fetal sheep pulmonary artery endothelial cell (PAEC) growth and tube formation by 64% and 44%, respectively ( P < 0.001), and prevented ETX-induced reductions of PAEC growth and tube formation. Vit D directly increased fetal alveolar type II cell (ATIIC) growth by 26% ( P < 0.001) and enhanced ATIIC growth in the presence of ETX-induced growth suppression by 73% ( P < 0.001). We conclude that antenatal vit D therapy improved oxygenation and survival in newborn rat pups and enhanced late lung structure after exposure to IA ETX in vivo, which may partly be due to direct effects on vascular and alveolar growth.

Abstract:
An increase in oxidative stress is suggested to be the main cause in Doxorubicin (Dox)–induced cardiotoxicity. However, there is now evidence that activation of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and nitrosative stress are also involved. The role of vitamin C (Vit C) in the regulation of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and reduction of nitrosative stress in Dox-induced cardiotoxicity is unknown. The present study investigated the effects of Vit C in the mitigation of Dox-induced changes in the levels of nitric oxide (NO), NOS activity, protein expression of NOS isoforms, and nitrosative stress as well as cytokines TNF-α and IL-10 in isolated cardiomyocytes. Cardiomyocytes isolated from adult Sprague-Dawley rats were segregated into four groups: 1) control, 2) Vit C (25 µM), 3) Dox (10 µM), and 4) Vit C + Dox. Dox caused a significant increase in the generation of superoxide radical (O2·−), peroxynitrite, and NO, and these effects of Dox were blunted by Vit C. Dox increased the expression of iNOS and altered protein expression as well as activation of endothelial NOS (eNOS). These changes were prevented by Vit C. Dox induced an increase in the ratio of monomeric/dimeric eNOS, promoting the production of O2·−, which was prevented by Vit C by increasing the stability of the dimeric form of eNOS. Vit C protected against the Dox-induced increase in TNFα as well as a reduction in IL-10. These results suggest that Vit C provides cardioprotection by reducing oxidative/nitrosative stress and inflammation via a modulation of Dox-induced increase in the NO levels and NOS activity.

Abstract:
Using a mitochondria-targeted vitamin E (Mito-Vit-E) in a rat pneumonia-related sepsis model, we examined the role of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species in sepsis-mediated myocardial inflammation and subsequent cardiac contractile dysfunction. Sepsis was produced in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats via intratracheal injection of S. pneumonia (4 × 106colony formation units per rat). A single dose of Mito-Vit-E, vitamin E, or control vehicle, at 21.5 μmol/kg, was administered 30 min postinoculation. Blood was collected, and heart tissue was harvested at various time points. Mito-Vit-E in vivo distribution was confirmed by mass spectrometry. In cardiac mitochondria, Mito-Vit-E improved total antioxidant capacity and suppressed H2O2generation, whereas vitamin E offered little effect. In cytosol, both antioxidants decreased H2O2levels, but only vitamin E strengthened antioxidant capacity. Mito-Vit-E protected mitochondrial structure and function in the heart during sepsis, demonstrated by reduction in lipid and protein oxidation, preservation of mitochondrial membrane integrity, and recovery of respiratory function. While both Mito-Vit-E and vitamin E suppressed sepsis-induced peripheral and myocardial production of proinflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and interleukin-6), Mito-Vit-E exhibited significantly higher efficacy ( P < 0.05). Stronger anti-inflammatory action of Mito-Vit-E was further shown by its near-complete inhibition of sepsis-induced myeloperoxidase accumulation in myocardium, suggesting its effect on neutrophil infiltration. Echocardiography analysis indicated that Mito-Vit-E ameliorated cardiac contractility of sepsis animals, shown by improved fractional shortening and ejection fraction. Together, our data suggest that targeted scavenging of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species protects mitochondrial function, attenuates tissue-level inflammation, and improves whole organ activities in the heart during sepsis.

En la actualidad, las personas están tomando más conciencia por los alimentos y las vitaminas que consumen debido a la pandemia mundial que existe. Por esta razón, nuestro emprendimiento busca contribuir a que las personas tengan los nutrientes necesarios mediante el consumo de jugos naturales hechos a base de frutas que contienen diferentes propiedades que benefician la salud de las personas. Este proyecto está dirigido a hombres y mujeres de 18 a 50 años que pertenecen a niveles socioeconómicos A, B y C que estén interesados en mejorar su alimentación y llevar una vida mucho más saludable. Para el análisis de viabilidad de la propuesta se realizaron diversos experimentos para sustentar la propuesta de negocio y su rentabilidad. Asimismo, se realizaron validaciones de la venta de los jugos naturales y las interacciones con el cliente por medio de las redes sociales.Los canales digitales permitió conocer que esta idea de negocio era muy bien acogida por las personas que interactúan con las publicaciones de las páginas de Facebook e Instagram de Juicy Vit. Por otro lado, se ha podido determinar que el negocio será rentable,ya que de acuerdo a los diversos indicadores financieros se ha podido determinar la rentabilidad del proyecto. Por último, las ventas proyectadas para los próximos 5 años nos brindan resultados positivos por lo que el proyecto es rentable. Esto se debe a que los consumidores debido a la coyuntura actual consumen más productos naturales a base de frutas frescas que no contengan colorantes, etc. Asimismo, evaluando diferentes escenarios entre optimista y pesimista los resultados son beneficiosos para Juyci Vit.
The purpose of this research work is to present the business idea of ​​natural juices, whose name is “Juicy Vit”. Abstract:
Denna uppsats behandlar social organisering av vit makt-miljön med avgränsning på den så kallade skinheads-miljön. Uppsatsens syfte är att få en förståelse för hur den sociala organiseringen av miljön har sett ut på 90-talet, med utgångspunkt i teorier om social organisering. Frågeställningen utgår från fem elementet för social organisering. Genom dessa element försöker jag undersöka och förstå varför individer söker sig till våldsbejakande extrema miljöer. Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie med den tematiskt öppna intervjun som metod, där fem före detta skinheads kommer till tals. De berättar om sina tidigare liv som skinheads i vit makt-miljön. Resultatet är att miljön organiseras med hjälp av våld utifrån de tre elementen; medlemskap, regler och sanktioner. Våldets funktion är centralt vid inträde, upprätthållande och utträde ur miljön. Individer som haft sin vålddebut innan inträdet i miljön tenderar till att eskalera i sitt våldsanvändande väl inne i den. Studien visar även att radikalisering bör ses som en process och att den inte sker över en natt, eller som ett fenomen helt isolerat från omvärlden. Uppsatsens bidrag till forskningsfältet är att den utifrån teorier om social organisering, bidrar till att försöka belysa de mekanismer och processer som påverkar inträdet, upprätthållandet och utträdet ur våldsbejakande extrema miljöer.

Vi har valt att skriva om hur Vit makt-miljön i Västra Götaland rekryterar unga till organisationer och vad det är som lockar unga. Vi valde ämnet på grund av att vi båda kommer från delar av Västra Götaland som har problem med dessa främlingsfientliga organisationer och vi är intresserade att ta reda på varför ungdomar dras till dessa organisationer i ”vårt” område. Syftet med arbetet är att utröna vad det är som lockar nya personer till dessa organisationer som så många vänder ryggen och som är illa omtyckt av den stora allmänheten. Vi har även tagit reda på hur dessa organisationer går till väga för att locka unga nya medlemmar till dem. Vi har utgått från en hypotes om att ungdomarna söker en samhörighet och ett skyddsnät och att valet av organisation är av sekundärt natur. Vi skall också använda oss av en intervju med en person som under sin tonårsperiod umgicks i dessa kretsar, där han skall få ge sin bild av miljön och dess lockelser. Dessutom har vi intervjuat en analytiker på Säpo angående vår tes och hennes syn på den och rekryteringen av ungdomar till Vit makt-miljön samt intervjuat en representant från organisationen Exit.

Abstract:
Följande studie belyser jämställdhet-och etniskmångfaldsarbete på tre svenska reklambyråer. Detta har gjorts via en flerfallsstudie där sex kvalitativa intervjuer har bidragit till ett resultat som berättar om reklambyråernas aktiva arbete kring dessa frågor. Av dessa intervjupersoner satt en i ledarposition och en arbetade som kreatör på vardera företag. Både reklambyråernas interna arbete på företaget samt det material de producerar har undersökts. En slutsats kan dras om att reklambyråerna visar på ett engagemang kring dessa frågor, vilket yttrar sig i en medveten rekrytering, i flertalet mångfaldsfrämjande projekt, samt normbrytande reklamkampanjer. Arbetet kan dock även ifrågasättas. I och med den vita medelklass som präglar reklambyråerna idag bidrar detta till omedveten diskriminering i visst kampanjmaterial. En homogen attityd reflekteras i medieproduktionen, samt internt på företaget i vissa fall.
The following study highlights equality diversity within three Swedish advertising agencies. It has been carried out using a multiple case study research metod, where the results of six qualitative interviews describe the agencies’ efforts regarding these matters. Of the interviewees, one at each agency was in a position of authority and one in a creative role. Both the agencies’ internal procedures and the material they produced were analyzed. One conclusioin that can be drawn is that the agencies are engaged in these issues. This manifests itself in conscentious recruitment, in several projects promoting diversity as well as norm-breaking advertising campaigns. However, the work they do can still be questioned, as due to the white middle class domination of the advertising agencies, unconscious discrimination still exists in some campaigns. In some cases a homogenous approach is reflected in media productions, as well as in the company internally.

Abstract:
Denna uppsats handlar om förekomsten av Antisemitism i den svenska s.k. Vit makt-musiken. Uppsatsens syfte är att kartlägga förekomsten av antisemitism i tre vit makt- band: Pluton Svea, Storm och Dirlewanger. Analysen sker genom att texterna till två album av varje band studeras. Metoden är både kvalitativ som kvantitativ och bland annat så undersöks olika typer av antisemitiska uttalanden som därefter nivåsätts enligt en, av författaren, modifierad skala konstruerad av forskaren John C.G. Röhl. Resultatet av denna undersökning visar att antisemitism är ständigt närvarande i denna musikstil. Dock tar den sig olika uttryck beroende på vilket band det gäller. I de album som är producerade under 2000-talet tycks även en viss nedtoning av den våldsammaste formen av antisemitism kunna ses.

Abstract Vacuum insulated tubing (VIT) is a specialized tubular designed to minimize heat loss from production or injection fluids to the environment in oil, gas and geothermal wells. VIT strings are used in deepwater wells for flow assurance or to mitigate annular pressure buildup. VIT use requires accurate knowledge of its insulating performance. Although VIT performance can be estimated from analytical tools, such as finite element analysis (FEA), an experimental approach provides a more direct measurement and can be used to validate analytical tools. We have developed a new experimental method to address this need. In this method, one or two VIT joints are placed in an ice-water bath. A precisely measured flow of heated air flows inside the VIT. The temperature change of the flowing air is measured between the inlet and outlet of the VIT test specimen. The insulating performance of the VIT is then calculated from this temperature difference using heat exchanger theory with effectiveness-number of transfer units (&#ξ03B5;-NTU) approach. A proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is used to control the air temperature at the VIT inlet by regulating power to the heater. This paper illustrates the data reduction method and uncertainty analysis using sample test data. The method allows for rapid measurement of VIT performance at many different temperatures, with the air flow rate being used to optimize the test sensitivity and to reduce experimental uncertainty. As currently designed, the apparatus is able to test single- and double-joint VITs with effective body conductivities between 0.002-0.1 W/m/°C (0.001-0.06 Btu/hr/ft/°F) and temperatures up to 400°C (750°F); however, the design allows the apparatus to be modified easily for higher or lower conductivities. Although designed for VIT, this method may be applied to other types of tubulars. Currently, there is no widely accepted standard method for experimental testing of VIT performance, and it is hoped that this new method may evolve to an industry standard.

Abstract:
Currently the most promising solution for marine propulsion is the two-stroke low-speed diesel engine. Start of Injection (SOI) is of significant importance for these engines due to its effect on firing pressure and specific fuel consumption. Therefore these engines are usually equipped with Variable Injection Timing (VIT) systems for variation of SOI with load. Proper operation of these systems is essential for both safe engine operation and performance since they are also used to control peak firing pressure. However, it is rather difficult to evaluate the operation of VIT system and determine the required rack settings for a specific SOI angle without using experimental techniques, which are extremely expensive and time consuming. For this reason in the present work it is examined the use of on-board monitoring and diagnosis techniques to overcome this difficulty. The application is conducted on a commercial vessel equipped with a two-stroke engine from which cylinder pressure measurements were acquired. From the processing of measurements acquired at various operating conditions it is determined the relation between VIT rack position and start of injection angle. This is used to evaluate the VIT system condition and determine the required settings to achieve the desired SOI angle. After VIT system tuning, new measurements were acquired from the processing of which results were derived for various operating parameters, i.e. brake power, specific fuel consumption, heat release rate, start of combustion etc. From the comparative evaluation of results before and after VIT adjustment it is revealed an improvement of specific fuel consumption while firing pressure remains within limits. It is thus revealed that the proposed method has the potential to overcome the disadvantages of purely experimental trial and error methods and that its use can result to fuel saving with minimum effort and time. To evaluate the corresponding effect on NOx emissions, as required by Marpol Annex-VI regulation a theoretical investigation is conducted using a multi-zone combustion model. Shop-test and NOx-file data are used to evaluate its ability to predict engine performance and NOx emissions before conducting the investigation. Moreover, the results derived from the on-board cylinder pressure measurements, after VIT system tuning, are used to evaluate the model’s ability to predict the effect of SOI variation on engine performance. Then the simulation model is applied to estimate the impact of SOI advance on NOx emissions. As revealed NOx emissions remain within limits despite the SOI variation (increase).

Denna rapport presenterar en studie av Vilhelmina Södra samebys erfarenheter av de konsekvenser som gruvan på Stihken fört med sig, en gruva som drevs av Boliden Mineral AB 1976–1988. Det finns i dag ett stort kunskapsglapp angående vilka de faktiska konsekvenserna är av gruvindustri på samisk markanvändning, inklusive renskötseln. Detta är så vitt vi vet första gången som forskningen empiriskt belyser konsekvenserna av gruvindustrin, och de faktiska utfallen av försöken till efterbehandling, utifrån en samebys egna erfarenheter och kunskap. Studien genomfördes 2019–2020 i ett samarbete mellan samebyn, Svenska Samernas Riksförbund och Stockholm Environment Institute. Datainsamlingen har bestått av arbetsmöten, intervjuer, workshops, dokumentanalys och kartering med stöd av RenGIS och forskning om störningszoner. Fokus i denna rapport ligger på just Vilhelmina Södra samebys erfarenheter och gruvans konsekvenser för andra samebyar eller icke-renskötande samer i området har därför inte inkluderats. Resultaten visar den omfattande påverkan som gruvan haft på samebyn, dels under driftperioden men i högsta grad också efteråt. Under drifttiden förorsakade gruvan stora direkta och indirekta markförluster, med störningar från brytningen och trafiken, damning på betet, blockering av det naturliga flyttstråket och förlust av stora delar av samebyns renar in i Norge eller in på grannbyarnas mark på svensk sida. I nutid handlar de största konsekvenserna om en omfattande störning från besöksnäringen på grund av vägen som drogs i tidigare väglöst land. Detta föranleder i sin tur stort betesbortfall; försämrad djurhälsa och kondition för renen; förhöjd arbetsbelastning, fysiska påfrestningar, och arbetsmiljörisker för renskötarna; ökade kostnader för renskötselaktiviteter; samt förlust av samiska kulturminnen, ökad psykisk påfrestning, försämrade möjligheter för samebyns unga att satsa på renskötseln, och förlust av traditionell kunskap. Dessa forskningsresultat är viktiga för att korrigera vanligt förekommande missuppfattningar i den politiska och offentliga debatten kring gruvindustrin: nämligen att gruvindustrin och renskötseln kan samexistera utan någon större påverkan på renskötseln. De visar också tydligt vem som har bäst kunskap att bedöma riskerna vid en gruvetablering: samebyn identifierade redan på 1960-talet, och det ganska så exakt, de risker som denna studie nu kunnat visa blivit verklighet medan försöken från statens representanter var långt mindre precisa. Exempelvis antog statens experter en total störningszon på 500 meter runt gruvområdet och 100 meter på bägge sidor om vägen. Detta står i stark kontrast till de störningszoner som samebyn faktiskt har upplevt, nämligen upp mot 10 kilometer för gruvan och 1,5 kilometer för vägen. Problemen härrör främst från det faktum att svensk lagstiftning inte ger tillräckligt skydd för samiska rättigheter. De hänger även ihop med statens tvetydiga roll i hanteringen av de intressekonflikter som uppstår när man både har en skyldighet att skydda samiska rättigheter och ska tillgodose olika samhälls- och företagsekonomiska intressen i utvinningen av mineraler. Denna brist på ansvarstagande, som samebyn upplever från statens sida, visar med all tydlighet att den koloniala exploateringen av naturresurserna i Sápmi inte är ett historiskt fenomen utan något som i allra högsta grad fortgår än i dag. Som ett exempel har inga ansträngningar som helst gjorts för att se över huruvida den begränsade ekonomiska ersättningen som staten genomförde under 1960–70 talet verkligen motsvarar de faktiska skador som samebyn fått uthärda. Det finns flera sätt att åtgärda problemen i området vid Stihken. Exempelvis skulle regeringen kunna ge SGU i uppdrag att återställa området från tidigare prospekteringsverksamhet och kommun och länsstyrelse skulle i sin tur kunna ingripa för att hantera besöksnäringen och friluftslivet. Vad denna studie främst belyser är dock behovet av en genomgripande strategi från statens sida för att komma till rätta med konsekvenserna av Bolidens gruvprojekt och dess följdeffekter. Utifrån senaste årens rättsutveckling torde det numera finnas goda möjligheter för staten att se över sitt ansvar för de skador som framkommit på området vid Stihken.
