Abstract:
ABSTRACT O-antigen variation due to the presence of different types of sugars and sugar linkages is important for the survival of bacteria threatened by host immune systems. The O antigens of Shigella dysenteriae type 7 and Escherichia coli O7 contain 4-(N-acetylglycyl)amino-4,6-dideoxy-d-glucose (d-Qui4NGlyAc) and 4-acetamido-4,6-dideoxy-d-glucose (d-Qui4NAc), respectively, which are sugars not often found in studied polysaccharides. In this study, we characterized the biosynthetic pathways for dTDP-d-Qui4N and dTDP-d-Qui4NAc (the nucleotide-activated precursors of d-Qui4NGlyAc and d-Qui4NAc in O antigens). Predicted genes involved in the synthesis of the two sugars were cloned, and the gene products were overexpressed and purified as His-tagged fusion proteins. In vitro enzymatic reactions were carried out using the purified proteins, and the reaction products were analyzed by capillary electrophoresis, electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It is shown that in S. dysenteriae type 7 and E. coli O7, dTDP-d-Qui4N is synthesized from α-d-glucose-1-phosphate in three reaction steps catalyzed by glucose-1-phosphate thymidyltransferase (RmlA), dTDP-d-glucose 4,6-dehydratase (RmlB), and dTDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-d-glucose aminotransferase (VioA). An additional acetyltransferase (VioB) catalyzes the conversion of dTDP-d-Qui4N into dTDP-d-Qui4NAc in E. coli O7. Kinetic parameters and some other properties of VioA and VioB are described and differences between VioA proteins from S. dysenteriae type 7 (VioAD7) and E. coli O7 (VioAO7) discussed. To our knowledge, this is the first time that functions of VioA and VioB have been biochemically characterized. This study provides valuable enzyme sources for the production of dTDP-d-Qui4N and dTDP-d-Qui4NAc, which are potentially useful in the pharmaceutical industry for drug development.

UKM Viora is one of the UKM in Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. This UKM is engaged in the production of bags, wallets using recycled materials from cement bags and carries the theme of products that are environmentally friendly. In the course of its business, UKM Viora has difficulty in developing the value of its products, this is because the most important factor in a business is identity, where identity in this case must be recognized, registered and known by the public. The identity is contained in a logo and is the name used by UKM Viora in marketing its products and is constrained from not being accepted by name and logo when registering because there are Sames that have names with the same pronunciation, so the effect of the logo and brand cannot be pinned or diplomatic in every product made by UKM VIORA.This service was carried out to assist UKM Viora in designing a new logo and name for its business identity so that it can be registered and can be applied to each of its products. Besides that, it is also mentoring the creation of this logo to improve the competitiveness and selling value of the products produced.The results of this service show that the logo and name offered have various variations and types as well as the concepts and intentions of each logo that is made, so that the logo design that is most suitable for the needs of UKM Viora is chosen and applied to each product. The logo that has been selected will be applied to various types of media needed as initial requirements, namely stamp. Further results show that the logo can be applied in the form of labels, with one technique using laser engraving on synthetic leather media of the size requested by UKM Viora.ABSTRAK UKM Viora adalah salah satu Usaha Kecil Menengah yang berlokasi di Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. UKM ini bergerak dibidang pembuatan produksi tas, dompet dengan menggunakan bahan daur ulang dari kantong semen dan mengusung tema produk yang ramah lingkungan. Dalam perjalanan usahanya, UKM Viora kesulitan dalam mengembangkan nilai produknya, hal ini disebabkan karena faktor yang paling penting dalam sebuah usaha yaitu identitas, dimana identitas dalam hal ini harus diakui, terdaftar dan dikenal oleh masyarakat. Identitas tersebut terdapat pada sebuah logo dan merupakan nama yang dipakai UKM Viora dalam memasarkan produknya dan terkendala tidak diterima nama dan logonya saat mendaftar dikarenakan ada UKM yang memiliki nama dengan pengucapan yang sama, sehingga efeknya logo dan merknya tidak bisa disematkan atau diaplkiasikan produk UKM VIORA. Pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk mendampingi UKM Viora dalam perancangan logo dan nama baru untuk identitas usahanya sehingga bisa terdaftar dan dapat diterapkan kedalam setiap produknya. Disamping itu juga pendampingan pembuatan logo ini, bertujuan meningkatkan daya saing dan nilai jual produk – produk yang dihasilkan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa logo dan nama yang ditawarkan memiliki berbagai macam variasi dan jenisnya serta konsep dan maksud dari setiap logo yang dibuat, sehingga terpilih desain logo yang sesuai kebutuhan UKM Viora untuk dijalankan dan diaplikasikan kedalam setiap produknya. Logo yang sudah terpilih akan diaplikasikan ke berbagai macam media yang dibutuhkan sebagai kebutuhan awal yaitu stempel. Hasil lebih lanjut menunjukkan bahwa logo dapat diaplikasikan dalam bentuk label, dengan salah satu tekniknya menggunakan laser grafir pada media kulit sintetis dengan ukuran yang diminta oleh UKM Viora.Kata Kunci : perancangan logo; identitas baru; UKM Viora

Servius was surely not the first to show discomfort with Vergil's choice of the word violaverit. Observing that the simile in lines 67–8 derives from Homer (Il. 4.141), he seems to be apologizing for Vergil when he explains that the poet's violaverit translates Homer's νι⋯νη. And discomfort there should be. The notion of ‘tainting, spoiling, damaging, defiling’ that violare should carry seems out of place both for the ivory-image and for the picture of the beautiful girl. Modern commentators have been no less troubled than Servius. Unwilling, however, to see Vergil as blindly enslaved to Homer, they have offered another explanation: violare here is tied to the violentia of her lover Turnus. ‘Vergil connects the violentia of Turnus with the staining of the ivory in the simile used to describe Lavinia's blush.’ should like to add a third explanation for Vergil's choice of violare.

O ensino formal de instrumentos musicais ainda está bastante vinculado a um paradigma didático que se alicerça na repetição mecânica e na formatação de estereótipos, amiúde alheios às motivações internas dos alunos. Essa abordagem invariavelmente estabelece poucas conexões com outras subdisciplinas da área da Música. Diante desse quadro, o presente trabalho propõe-se a discutir acerca de abordagens e ferramentas pedagógicas (nomeadamente o material didático de apoio à performance do violão, Violar), baseadas nos princípios de problematização e estímulo à criatividade. Incentivando a adoção de uma postura criticamente ativa e de decisões tomadas de forma refletida e consciente, visa-se assegurar a autonomia e o respeito à identidade de cada estudante enquanto objetivos de primeira ordem, articulando tanto suas preferências estéticas quanto suas aptidões técnicas, para que elas possam protagonizar a construção de seus próprios saberes. Almeja-se ainda diluir a dicotomia entre o processo de aprendizagem e a performance “propriamente dita”, propondo antes que ambas as formas estão inseridas em um mesmo contínuo. Destarte, questões concernentes aos aspectos do “como” e “porquê” tornar-se-ão tão relevantes quanto “o que” se realiza. Para a realização da parte empírica da pesquisa, este estudo utilizou o método de investigação-ação educacional, que contou com a colaboração de seis violonistas estudantes provenientes de instituições universitárias brasileiras e portuguesa. Os resultados obtidos a partir do consenso intersubjetivo entre os agentes envolvidos (aluno e professor) naquele contexto específico, constituem possibilidades de experimentar outras maneiras de se ensinar instrumentos musicais no âmbito das instituições formais.
The formal teaching of musical instruments is commonly linked to a didactic paradigm based on mechanical repetition and formation of stereotypes, often without considerations of the student’s inner motivations. This approach invariably fails to establish sufficient connections with other sub-disciplines within the area of Music. Given the situation, this paper intends to discuss alternative approaches and pedagogical tools for instrumental practices (namely the didactic material to support the guitar performance, Violar), based on the principles of questioning and stimulating creativity. By encouraging the adoption of an active and critical role, beyond reflected and conscious decisions, the aim is to ensure the autonomy and respect to the identity of each student as primary goals by articulating both their aesthetic preferences and their technical skills, thus enabling them to participate in the construction of their own knowledge. Furthermore, we intend to dilute the dichotomy between the learning process and performance itself – often regarded only as the final product, created in public –, by proposing that both forms are inserted in the same continuous. Thus, issues related to musical aspects of “how” and “why” will become as relevant as “what” is done musically. Regarding the empirical aspect of the investigation, the method of action research was applied with the collaboration of six guitarists students from Brazilian and Portuguese universities. The results obtained by inter-subjective consensus in that particular context aims to serve as opportunities to experiment other ways of teaching musical instruments in the context of formal institutions.

Abstract:
Entre os inimigos naturais das moscas-das-frutas, os representantes da subfamília Opiinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) têm sido os mais utilizados em programas de controle biológico. Entretanto, algumas espécies da subfamília Alysiinae são comumente relacionadas ao parasitismo desses dípteros, em particular Asobara anastrephae (Muesebeck). No estudo da eficiência desses parasitóides é de fundamental importância o conhecimento dos estímulos utilizados para a localização do hábitat de seus hospedeiros. Dessa forma, foram avaliadas as respostas olfativas do parasitóide exótico Diachasmimorpha longicaudata Ashmead, e dos nativos, Doryctobracon areolatus (Szépligeti) e A. anastrephae a frutos de goiaba (Psidium guajava L.) com e sem larvas de moscasdas- frutas, em condições de laboratório. D. longicaudata e D. areolatus foram também estudados em telado. As fêmeas de D. longicaudata e de D. areolatus responderam aos odores de frutos podres não-infestados, embora D. areolatus também tenha sido atraído aos frutos em maturação inicial (de vez). As fêmeas dessas espécies demonstraram reconhecer os voláteis de frutos com larvas de Ceratitis capitata (Wied.). No entanto, em bioensaios realizados com frutos contendo larvas de diferentes instares, as fêmeas de D. longicaudata não foram capazes de separar frutos com larvas dos primeiros instares dos de terceiro instar de C. capitata. Nas avaliações dos voláteis liberados dos frutos com larvas de C. capitata e de Anastrepha fraterculus (Wied.), as fêmeas de D. longicaudata orientaram-se aos voláteis dos frutos com ambas as espécies de hospedeiros, mas diferiram significativamente dos voláteis com larvas de C. capitata. As fêmeas de D. areolatus também demonstraram respostas para ambas as espécies, mas diferiram significativamente dos voláteis de frutos com larvas de A. fraterculus. As fêmeas de A. anastrephae orientaram-se de forma similar para os campos com odores de frutos infestados com ambas as espécies de moscas-dasfrutas. Em área coberta (telado), as fêmeas de D. longicaudata orientaram-se pelos voláteis de frutos podres com e sem larvas, porém não diferenciaram significativamente os hospedeiros. As fêmeas de D. areolatus não foram atraídas para os frutos nas gaiolas no solo independentemente do hospedeiro, sugerindo que este parasitóide não forrageia em frutos caídos.
Parasitoids of the Opiinae subfamily (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) are among the most used natural enemies in fruit fly control programs. Furthermore, some species of the subfamily Alysiinae, such as Asobara anastrephae (Muesebeck), are commonly associated to the parasitism of these dipterans. The study of efficiency of parasitoids is essential in order to understand the mechanisms that regulate both prey and habitat searching behavior of natural enemies. In this work we evaluated the behavioral response of the native parasitoid species Doryctobracon areolatus (Szépligeti), A. anastrephae as well as the exotic species Diachasmimorpha longicaudata Ashmead, to guava fruit (Psidium guajava L.) with and without fruit flies larvae under laboratory conditions. In addition, behavioral response of D. longicaudata and D. areolatus were also determined under natural conditions. Parasitoid females of D. longicaudata and D. areolatus responded to volatiles from non-infested fermented fruits, moreover D. areolatus also attracted to fruits on initial maturation. Both species recognized volatiles from fruits infested with Ceratitis capitata (Wied.) larvae; however D. longicaudata females were unable to differentiate volatiles from fruit infested with different larval instars of C. capitata. Olfactometer choice bioassays showed that females of both parasitoid species oriented to volatiles released from fruits infested with C. capitata and Anastrepha fraterculus (Wied.) larvae, however preference differed significantly for volatiles associated with each fruit fly species. Under natural conditions, D. longicaudata was attracted to volatiles released from infested and non-infested fermented fruits. Nevertheless, D. areolatus did not respond to volatiles from infested fruits placed on the ground, suggesting that this species do not prey on fallen fruits.

She may have been married to John of Dunrod, sheriff of Lanark, and she was more certainly a member of The Crawford family, and a cousin of The Bishop of Ross. Robert Hudson was a musician and poet, with The title of ‘court violar’. Her surviving poem is a plea to Alexander Montgomerie that he and his fellow poets at court not forget him. Desde la llegada de Donald Trump a la presidencia de Estados Unidos, ha resultado rentable su discurso en contra de los migrantes, que siempre va acompañado del anuncio de la construcción de un muro fronterizo. A esas afirmaciones hechas por Trump, se le han sumado una serie de medidas o políticas por parte de su gobierno, que, a nuestro juicio, podrían resultar violatorias de derechos humanos. En ese sentido, es pertinente revisar si aquellas medidas o políticas cumplen con los parámetros mínimos de protección de los derechos humanos. Valentín Paniagua estaba preparado para hacer la paz, para buscar la conciliación, para encontrar el justo medio entre los extremos, para rechazar la adulación falsa y equilibrar cargas. Él era un radical de centro. Lo conocí en un hotel de Lima, acababa de dejar la presidencia, de la cual había salido rodeado de admiración y reconocimiento gracias a su talante conciliatorio. El Perú había hecho la transición hacia una nueva época democrática sin disparar un solo tiro ni violar un derecho adquirido. El presidente Paniagua, como hombre de la transición, había cumplido estrictamente con el calendario del retorno democrático, sin sucumbir a las voces que le recomendaban prolongar su exitosa permanencia en el poder, es decir, quedarse.

Interação de característica é uma interação indesejável entre os serviços de uma composição, que pode violar os requisitos funcionais e não funcionais do usuário. Devido à natureza dinâmica, heterogeneidade e abertura da composição de serviços web, solucionar interação de característica é uma tarefa complexa, pois é difícil controlar os serviços que pertencem a diferentes domínios administrativos - não há acesso às suas implementações. O grande desafio é a prevenção da ocorrência de interação de característica. Isto pode ser feito pelo uso de técnicas online ou offline, no entanto, não foram encontrados trabalhos que previnam de modo online. Neste artigo, Um mecanismo autonômico e online, baseado em Redes Neurais e Algoritmos Genéticos, foi proposto, para prevenir interações de características na composição de serviços web. Os resultados demonstram um tempo de reação e precisão adequados para monitorar e detectar as causas de interações de características no intuito de viabilizar a prevenção.

A Internet das coisas (IoT) compreenderá uma diversidade de objetos heterogêneos integrados que coletam e disseminam conteúdo com diferentes propósitos de aplicações. Logo, uma disseminação segura na IoT é essencial, visto que ela está sujeita a diversas ações maliciosas, como a personificação de identidades por ataques Sybil que buscam violar a confidencialidade do conteúdo disseminado. Contudo, as técnicas existentes de detecção de ataques Sybil desconsideram o uso de identidades roubadas e de dispositivos heterogêneos, e em geral são custosas. Este trabalho apresenta um mecanismo de controle de associações para IoT, chamado SA2CI, que previne o acesso de atacantes Sybil ao serviço de disseminação de conteúdo. O SA2CI emprega criptografia de curvas elípticas (ECC) que prover uma distribuição de chaves e criação de um canal seguro com baixo custo, aplica funções não clonáveis (PUF) na comprovação da identidade dos dispositivos, e recibos de identidade para garantir a legitimidade dos dispositivos. Uma avaliação feita no NS3 mostra a eficácia do SA2CI no controle de associações diante de ataques Sybil.

O trabalho apresenta uma revisão literária para buscar, analisar e verificar as formas de disseminação e as tecnologias usadas no combate as notícias falsas. Foram incluídos no estudo, artigos de pesquisa brasileiros sobre o tema, que resultaram na investigação de dois problemas: O uso de robôs sociais/digitais e influência do filtro bolha no direcionamento dos acessos e como parte da solução do problema a verificação das fakes news com uso de deep learning. As pesquisas citadas mostram um tendência promissora de evolução no combate às fake news utilizando o padrão automatizado de machine learning e inteligência humana para diferenciar robôs de pessoas além de outras ações no combate a fake news como fact checking, o uso de leis punitivas e o delicado conflito entre o combate às fake news e o respeito e a liberdade de expressão, onde planos legais nacionais, sob a justificativa de combater notícias falsa possam violar esta autonomia. Após a análise dos artigos enquadrados no escopo da pesquisa, pode-se verificar a dificuldade no tratamento de notícias falsas nos meios digitais atuais como redes sociais devidas a complexidade na classificação das notícias e interesses mercadológicos que utilizam ferramentas de disseminação de conteúdo robotizados. Muito embora hajam técnicas avançadas de inteligência artificial capazes de reduzir, ainda não existem ferramentas totalmente funcionais e práticas no combate às fake news, sendo ainda a conscientização dos usuários a melhor forma de prevenção.

Provedores de nuvem computacional precisam garantir acordos de nível de serviço, mas também precisam economizar energia em seus centros de dados devido aos altos custos operacionais e ambientais. Trabalhos recentes propõem algoritmos para redução do consumo de energia em centros de dados que consideram, geralmente, uma ou duas das três dimensões de maior consumo energético, quais sejam, servidores, sistema de refrigeração ou infraestrutura de rede. Entretanto, algoritmos que otimizam apenas uma ou duas dessas dimensões podem esconder perdas de energia significativas nas demais dimensões. Além disso, otimizações de energia podem aumentar os tempos de resposta de serviços e violar acordos de nível de serviço. Este artigo apresenta um estudo extensivo das relações entre as três principais dimensões de consumo de energia de um centro de dados e seus impactos em indicadores de qualidade de serviço. O artigo também propõe um algoritmo de alocação de máquinas virtuais que explora diferentes níveis de utilização do centro de dados para economizar energia de forma mais agressiva ou para minimizar violações em acordos de nível de serviço e apresenta um novo simulador para estudos de eficiência energética de centros de dados que permite a avaliação de vários algoritmos de escalonamento sob diferentes cargas de trabalho, estratégias de resfriamento e otimizações de rede. Os resultados experimentais foram obtidos por mais de 500 simulações com três traços reais de cargas de trabalho de até 696 mil máquinas virtuais ao longo de até 34 dias.

ABSTRACT Background: Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is the leading cause of death worldwide and a serious threat to health in low and middle income countries. This can be prevented by early detection and monitoring of NCDs risk factors. This study aimed to investigate the contextual effect of the integrated health post on the use of non- communicable disease screening service. Subjects and Method: A cross sectional study was carried out at 25 integrated health posts (posbindu) in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, Indonesia, from August to October 2019. A sample of 200 study subjects was selected by fixed disease sampling. The dependent variable was the use of NCD screening service. The independent variables were subjective norm, health information, family support, cadre support, health beha-vior, health status, attitude, and intention. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a multiple multilevel logistic regression run on Stata 13. Results: The use of NCD screening service increased with supportive subjective norm (b= o.88; 95% CI= 0.01 to 1.75; p= 0.045), high health information exposure (b= 1.10; 95% CI= 0.18 to 2.02; p= 0.019), strong family support (b= 0.94; 95% CI= 0.05 to 1.83; p= 0.037), strong cadre support (b= 0.87; 95% CI= 0.01 to 1.73; p= 0.047), health behavior (b= 1.39; 95% CI= 0.49 to 2.30; p= 0.002), had NCD (b= 1.30; 95% CI= 0.19 to 2.41; p= 0.021), positive attitude (b= 0.98; 95% CI= 0.12 to 1.84; p= 0.025), and strong intention (b= 1.14; 95% CI= 0.26 to 2.01; p= 0.010). Posbindu had negligible contextual effect on the use of NCD screening service with intra-class correlation (ICC)= 7.1%. Conclusion: The use of NCD screening service increases with supportive subjective norm, high health information exposure, strong family support, strong cadre support, health behavior, had NCD, positive attitude, and strong intention. Abstract:
El presente estudio evidencia que cuando un territorio colectivo es afectado existe un impacto multidimensional sobre las comunidades que lo habitan (en términos sociales, económicos y ambientales), pero, además, hay un efecto multiplicador al violar numerosos derechos simultáneo y al extender este impacto a las poblaciones adyacentes, con repercusiones a corto y largo plazo. Es así que las amenazas, el asesinato, el desplazamiento, la contaminación de las aguas o la falta de peces para la pesca, no son simples hechos aislados ni afectan solo a una persona o a una familia: el ataque hacia un individuo es un ataque a toda la comunidad y otras circundantes. El estudio también estableció una relación entre los proyectos monitoreado con los países de origen de sus inversiones. Como resultado se encontraron 1164 comunidades afectadas por 102 proyectos extractivos o de infraestructura. Las afectaciones se dieron en seis países: Brasil, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, México y Perú durante los años 2017, 2018 y 2019. Los derechos al dominio colectivo sobre el territorio, al consentimiento previo, libre e informados y a un medio ambiente saludable encabezan la lista de derechos más vulnerados. En cuanto a las agresiones o ataques, la forma más frecuente registrada es la invasión al territorio colectivo, produciéndose en casi la mitad de los casos. Le siguen en frecuencia las amenazas y los asesinatos. Respecto a los impactos sociales, se destacan cuatro de ellos: la alteración de los medios de vida tradicionales, la alteración de la disponibilidad de agua, los problemas de salud y el desplazamiento de viviendas. Finalmente, en los impactos ambientales predominan la contaminación de agua y la deforestación. Los resultados del estudio están presentados de manera más didáctica en la plataforma interactiva Story Maps “Derechos Colectivos Vulnerados” que RRI, en colaboración con Amazon Conservation Team Colombia, crearon.
