Full textIn the last decades of the 19th century, Jean Richepin was both a writer and a journalist. His fame quickly spread beyond the literary world. Surrounded by a legend that grew around him during his lifetime, the figure of the writer has often served as a foil for his work. Today, this same legend makes it difficult to understand the writer's trajectory within the literary field. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the trajectory of Jean Richepin within the literary field during his period of activity (1865-1926), by taking a critical look at the media representations of the writer's character. Furthermore, this work aims to retrace Jean Richepin's journey in order to identify the key stages and question the blind spots in his literary production
Lenoir, Colette. "Le mythe de la bohème au XIXe siècle." Paris 4, 1992. http://www.theses.fr/1992PA040067.
Full textBohemia, the phenomenon of the poet's marginality, appears, in the XIXth century, as a means, specific to the artist, of demonstrating the problem of his situation in society. The analysis of this situation, taken from the writings by bohemia and the writings on bohemia, attempts, through an existential history extending from 1830 to 1914, to unravel its structural and historical causes. The conduct of the artist, a compensating strategy to deal with a situation of conflict, together with the imaginary values which underpin it are studied with reference to key dates : - 1830: the heyday of bohemia. - 1850: bohemia unmasked. - 1870: bohemia defeated. - 1900: bohemia disowned. The development of the values making up the bohemian "code" allows one to high-light the vitality, gradual shift, erosion and exhaustion of the myth of bohemia
França, Marina. "Intérêts, sexualité et affects dans la prostitution populaire : le cas de la zone bohème de Belo Horizonte." Paris, EHESS, 2011. http://www.theses.fr/2011EHES0488.
Full textThis Ph. D is an analysis of the female sex work in the "Bohemian zone", a red-light district of low-level prostitution in downtown Belo Horizonte (Brazil). Starting from an ethnographic work and formal interviews, it examines the relationship in the hotels between sex workers and clients and compares them to those in other spaces of prostitution in the same city as well as in the Bois de Boulogne (Paris, France). Beyond sexual work, prostitutes must invest in the relationship with clients and develop commercial and emotional skills. In the Bohemian zone, most of the services are impersonal and repeat a standard model of verbal exchanges and sexual practices. However, some contacts engage more emotional interactions and sometimes even a transformation of the link. This work analyzes the intermingling between affects, economic transactions and sexuality in sex work. This is then analyzed in parallel with the private relationships of the prostitutes and, to a lesser extent, with those of the clients. The social context, working situations and love ties of sex workers are important to clarify the phenomenom of prostitution, as well as gender relations in working class groups. Also, the values they assign to sexuality and sex acts are revealed by sex workers through narratives about the client's sexual requests, about what they accept to do or not to do and of their own pleasures

Full textAmong all the literary movements the late 19th and early 20th centuries are teeming with, only one of them seems to have remained in the margin of literary history : bohemia. As a ritual or a phase, bohemia with its many functions has eventually become a real art of living driving young writers-to-be full of illusions, towards the great capital cities looking for fame and recognition. The late 19th century Spanish litterature (from 1864 to 1920) took an interest int hose idealistic combatants by revealing the dofficulty or nonsense of their course. Going through sympathy, praise, derision and irony, these novels, plays or tales deal with this genre of literary bohemia from its birth to its death (or transfiguration). Yet, far from being a phenomenon of society or a fascinating topic of fiction, Spanish bohemians develop their own art of writing without always being able to create a literature of its own. Their writings, most of which had been unknown hitherto, show a life of turmoil marked with misery and failure, eventually giving the readers a flamboyant and disenchanted view of the status of an artist in a Spanish society that is being more and more industrialized and deshumanised. Their writings can be read as an unfolding definition of literary bohemia, a concept that can be observed, denied, denigrated or, on the contrary, defended though still vague and unsignificant in the whole literary history. This study of literary bohemia through masterpieces of Hispanic literature or bohemian writings gives way to the discovery of a whole line of writers that have been forgotten because labelled as « los vencidos »

Full textBy following art history from the nineteenth to the twenty-first century, and using for setting the dynamic age of globalisation, this essay is dedicated to nomadisms in post-modem performing arts. The first movement of this study has for aim to investigate the topics of new social and aesthetic nomadism with tools of sociology but also philosophy (Flusser, Said, Appadurai, Sloterdijk, Deleuze) and to defme the particular figure of the artist from the "bohemian spirit" of the romantic period, the wanderer of Walter Benjamin, to present walking artists. Theatre has always been an art of movement, assimilating other arts or techniques, and recently extended its field to mixed media and technology. But in saure last ten years, influenced by performance and happening, from Fluxus to Situationism, a few artists decided to adopt a flexible and undefined identity and shifted from the scenes to real landscapes or peripheral urban areas, in order to explore unusual spaces where it is still possible to experiment and socialize. This research about artistic nomads starts at the end of the nineties following up on all sorts of itinerant forms, from walkabouts to theatre trucks, from circus tents to ephemeral constructions and defines the profile of an unsettled artist, who does not avant to belong any longer to any artistic category but wishes to experience travel as an art of living. To either study these present forms as a critic or to follow those new paths as a spectator, common patterns must be forgotten and disorientation must be accepted. As the French philosopher Deleuze says," nomad sciences need poetic behaviours". .

Full textWith the advent of the Internet, consumers are now exposed to a large number of adverts that most of the time they consider as intrusive and disrespectful of their privacy. This research aims to determine in what way(s) the intrusion of advertising perceived by the consumer can be mitigated. The results of this work, stemming from a qualitative exploratory study based on 32 individuals (advertisers, communication agencies, experts and consumers) and an experiment based on 655 respondents, confirms the general hypotheses according to which perceived usefulness and congruence may have an influence on the perceived intrusion, which in turn, will act on the attitude of the consumer in relation to mobile advertising

Full textThe upheavals generated by the new means of disseminating public data, together with the multiple possibilities offered by the Internet, such as information storage, comprehensive memory tools and the use of search engines, give rise to major issues related to privacy protection. The dissemination of public data in digital format causes a shift in our scales of time and space, and changes the traditional concept ofpublic nature previously associated with the "paper" universe. We will study the means of protecting privacy, and the conditions for accessing and using the personal information, sometimes of a "sensitive" nature, which is contained in the public documents posted on the Internet. The characteristics of the information available through judicial data banks require special protection solutions, so that the necessary balance can be found between the principle of judicial transparency and the right to privacy.
