Full textDenna studie avser att undersöka och analysera fyra verksamma lärares uppfattningar om det vidgade textbegrepp som uttrycks i kursplanen i svenska 2000 och vilken betydelse deras uppfattning om det begreppet får för elevers undervisning i svenskämnet. Studien ska dessutom undersöka och analysera deras uppfattningar om hur ett vidgat textbegrepp kan förstås och relateras gentemot styrdokumenten i svenskämnet. För att fånga fyra lärares uppfattningar om ett vidgat textbegrepp och vilken betydelse deras uppfattning får för deras elevers svenskundervisning, har intervjuer genomförts i grundskolan med fyra lärare i år 6-9. Förhoppningen var att dessa intervjuer skulle ge en bild av verksamma lärares uppfattning om ett vidgat textbegrepp och hur det gestaltas i deras undervisning. Resultatdelen i uppsatsen upplyser om de fyra lärarnas olika uppfattningar om ett vidgat textbegrepp och vilken betydelse det får för elevers undervisning i svenskämnet.
The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the understanding, of four teachers, about the wide text concept as it is put in the Swedish curriculum of 2000, and what meaning their opinion has for their teaching in Swedish arts. Furthermore it will look into and analyze their comprehension about how a wide text concept can be understood and be related to the governing documents in Swedish arts. In order to catch the opinion about the wide text concept of four teachers and to see what significance their comprehension about it shows in their teaching, we have interviewed four teachers of Swedish arts in the years 6-9. The expectation was that these interviews should picture active teachers understanding about a wide text concept and how it is shown in their teaching. The result part in this essay informs about these four teachers different comprehension about a wide text concept and what significance it gets for the teaching of their students in Swedish arts.

This study deals with Swedish upper secondary school teachers' approaches to an expanded text concept. Attitudes mediated through media as well as “the new languages” that media give rise to, imply new conditions for the activities in school. As a necessary adaptation to the new conditions given by the media forces, the Swedish upper secondary school 1994 incorporated “an expanded text concept” in the syllabus for the Swedish language.
The focus of the study is how Swedish upper secondary school teachers' work to meet and challenge the students' in an expanded text concept. The study is founded on interviews with five teachers, who to a greater extent integrate an expanded text concept in their teaching. In addition information about literary instruction is collected and analysed. The theoretical framework consists of theories that approach the Swedish schools discussion founded on a social and cultural context, in relation to media's effects on school.
Findings indicate that the teachers based their teaching on a social and cultural context, where they promote dialogical teaching and made students' understandings the central focus. Teaching Swedish should, according to the teachers interviewed, be based on central human topics. Findings also indicate that the teachers own media habits settle the ways they integrate new media in their teaching. The teachers notice good possibilities to motivate and engage pupils by teaching on the basis of an expanded text concept. They also find that an expanded text concept works irrespective of course, age and gender. Further the teachers consider that traditional text hierarchies maintained by the school and the society are on the way to disappear.
Sammanfattning
Syftet med denna undersökning är att ta reda på hur gymnasielärare i svenska gör för att möta och utmana eleverna i ett vidgat textbegrepp. Det teoretiska ramverket rymmer skolans kunskapsdiskussion i relation till informationssamhällets återverkningar på skolan.
Undersökningen bygger på intervjuer med fem gymnasielärare i svenska, som alla i hög grad arbetar med ett vidgat textbegrepp i undervisningen. Därutöver har undervisningsmaterial samlats in och analyserats.
Resultatet av undersökningen visar på ett gemensamt förhållningssätt hos de intervjuade lärarna. Deras praktik genomsyras av ett sociokulturellt perspektiv och en helhetssyn på lärande, där det vidgade textbegreppet är ett pedagogiskt verktyg. Vidare ser lärarna svenskämnet som ett humanistiskt bildningsämne. Det framkommer också att lärarnas egna medievanor spelar en avgörande roll för hur de arbetar med medier i undervisningen.
Lärarna ser goda möjligheterna att dra nytta av den motivation och det engagemang som arbete med ett vidgat textbegrepp kan innebära, och menar att det vidgade textbegreppet fungerar på samtliga kurser i svenska samt för de flesta elever oavsett studieinriktning, ålder och kön. Lärarna ger också uttryck för att värdehierarkier kring hur man i skolan traditionellt har betraktat text är på väg att försvinna.
