Abstract:
The article describes technological reengineering and defines its place in the methodology of describing innovations - technical, technological, organizational, logistical, etc. In the domestic practice of innovative transformations, such tools as rehabilitation, reorganization and restructuring are known. The effectiveness of their application largely depends on the level of integration, perfection and application methodology. Technological reengineering is a derivative tool of innovative transformations, therefore its fundamental aspects are considered together with the concepts of "technological innovations", "management" and "engineering". These tools are characterized. Based on the analysis of the existing interpretations of the concepts of "innovation", "technology", "reengineering" and "reengineering of business processes", the author's definition of the concept of "technological reengineering" is given, which by its nature embodies the elements of all these definitions. The concept of "technological reengineering" specifies the elements of the organizational and economic mechanism of the enterprise, within which fundamental transformations are carried out. The structural and logical essence of the concept of "technological reengineering" is considered as a systemic transformation on a fundamentally new technological basis of the production and technical base and the corresponding organizational and production relations. In contrast to the approaches presented in the scientific literature, the latter represents formalized procedures for radical, complex and systematic transformation of the production base in order to ensure the competitiveness of enterprises and regions and contains production and technical measures that are primarily related to the fundamental renewal of production assets, improvement product quality and cost reduction, improvement of the range of manufactured products. This allows us to detail the essence of this concept and to separate intellectual and technical tools for its implementation, such as remediation, restructuring, reengineering of business processes. It is justified that this definition more comprehensively covers the areas of reengineering and involves the redesign of business processes together with all components of the enterprise's activities. The given definition also allows for the formation of theoretical and methodological provisions regarding the definition of "technological reengineering".

ABSTRACTBefore the beginning of theJournal of Child Languagein 1974 three technological innovations had set the stage for a fundamental expansion and revision of our understanding of the processes of child language acquisition. Portable audio and video recorders changed both the quantity and quality of data. Computers made it possible to store and search large corpora, to rapidly carry out statistical analyses of the distribution of linguistic forms and their changes over time, and to simulate models of acquisition. This essay is a personal and historical overview of the unexpected consequences of those technological innovations for the study of child language. In looking to the future, another tool, linguistic typology, is essential for building models of language acquisition.

Abstract:
Popular culture has critiqued ‘vertical video syndrome’, or video shot on smartphones in the portrait rather than landscape orientation, as something aesthetically unpleasing which should be avoided. But the design of smartphones seems to encourage shooting vertical video. This article examines the aesthetic desirability of vertical videos through applied media aesthetics. It traces the history of horizontal film and television orientations, as well as the image-centric orientation model found in still photography. It argues that vertical video, rather than a syndrome to be avoided, instead takes advantage of the technological innovations and embodied pleasures offered by the smartphone to rupture the visual paradigms and create a new visual aesthetic for phone-based moving images.

Abstract:
Theodolites are fundamental geodetic measuring instruments for all practical geodetic tasks, as well as for experimental geodetic scientific purposes. Their development has a long history. Photo and video theodolites represent the advanced development of classic theodolites. Development started in 19th century, but only in the last 15 years has commercial application been achieved in the geodetic profession. The latest development, called image-assisted total stations (IATS), is a theodolite which consists of a classic robotic total station (RTS) with integrated image sensors. It was introduced in the early 2000s. With the development of theodolites, their application became much wider; today, they can be used for structural and geo-monitoring, i.e., for the determination of static and dynamic displacements and deformations of civil engineering structures such as bridges, dams, wind turbines, and high buildings, as well as natural structures, such as mountain slopes. They can be implemented in geodetic monitoring systems, which are an integral part of engineering structural diagnosis, and they provide essential information about the current condition of the structure. This paper describes the technological development of photo and video theodolites divided into phases according to the main innovations in their development. The application of modern video theodolites (i.e., IATS) is presented through several experimental studies that were performed. The procedure of conducting measurements with this kind of instrument, as well as the analysis of acquired data and achieved results, is elaborated. Lastly, the authors conclude, according to the achieved results, that IATS can today be used for determination of quasi-static and dynamic displacements with small and high amplitudes.

Abstract:
This work is a review of researches carried out by the authors on prototyping processes and testing of hyperboloid gears. These activities are preceded by modeling for synthesis and design of these gear sets. It contains also a description of the innovative and inventive activities of the authors over the years. The twenty-five years period of studying hyperboloid gear mechanisms with an exact linear contact between the active tooth surfaces is entirely subordinated to the transfer of the obtained scientific results into scientifically applied and applied ones, in order to create adequate innovative products. The time interval of the researches, done from 1980 to 1990, is divided into two parts: - till 1985, the actions are oriented into transforming a part of the obtained scientific - applied results into technological innovations in the field of high-reduction gear mechanisms; - the period 1985 -1990 is identified with attempts to implement these gear transmissions into various technological devices and transport machines. From a practical view point, the 1980-1990 interval covers all activities for elaboration of functional models of reductors and technological models of high-reduction gears of type Helicon. The time period after 1990 is characterized by the elaboration of three types of Helicon reductors.

Abstract:
A complex of various technological innovations, which, first of all, have information and communication content, among which it is necessary to mention news and analytical Internet portals, messengers like Whatsapp, hybrid and convergent media tools such as Telegram and Facebook, video hosting and editing services (Youtube and TikTok), streaming platforms, and numerous other technological solutions have a great impact on political processes in Central Asia, transforming them and reformatting them. Their influence is most pronounced in Kazakhstan, for a number of reasons, among which a higher standard of living of the population and, accordingly, the paying capacity of the audience, the depth of Internet penetration, the development of the communication sphere, etc. In this regard, the situation in Kazakhstan presented to be largely as a model for the entire region of Central Asia. The impact of communicative technological innovations in the Republic of Kazakhstan is manifested through the intensification of socio-political processes, the restructuring of society, through the emergence of new groups of influence, as well as the creation of dialogue and discussion platforms, often of an informal plan, which contribute both to the unification and differentiation of the social organism. This gives rise to various dilemmas in the choice of state approaches to the use of communicative technological innovations, which is expressed both in encouraging the development of the information and communication sphere, and in attempts to limit civic activity if it goes through the channels of new means of communication. The author suggests that in the coming years, the impact of communicative technological innovations on political processes in Kazakhstan will be under the sign of the two indicated contradictory tendencies (striving for freedom and control), especially considering the neighborhood with the two powers, China and the Russian Federation, with their predominantly repressive logic of interaction state with society.

This paper studies how cognitive and structural antecedents affect adaptation to disruptive innovations. We do so by analyzing how video game firms adapted to the free-to-play business model around the period of disruption (2012–2015). Our data set (which contains 461 firms, collectively employing 83,157 individuals) allows us to characterize each firm’s organizational structure and each employee’s experience profile; it also captures the performance of firms under the existing and new technological regimes (that is, firms that do and do not adopt the disruptive innovation). We show that adoption, implementation under the existing regime, and implementation under the new regime are affected by cognitive and structural antecedents in different and often opposite ways. We also point out conditions under which cognitive and structural antecedents can compensate for each other. Overall, our study contributes to a better understanding of how firms should organize to face disruptive innovations.

Abstract:
Multimedia communication as well as other related innovations are gaining tremendous growth in the modern technological era. Even though digital content has traditionally proved to be a piece of legitimate evidence. But the latest technologies have lessened this trust, as a variety of video editing tools have been developed to modify the original video. Therefore, in order to resolve this problem, a new technique has been proposed for the detection of duplicate video sequences. The present paper utilizes gray values to extract Hu moment features in the current frame. These features are further used for classification of video as authentic or forged. Afterwards there was also need to validate the proposed technique using training and test dataset. But the scarcity of training and test datasets, however, is indeed one of the key problems to validate the effectiveness of video tampering detection techniques. In this perspective, the Video Forensics Library for Frame Duplication (VLFD) dataset has been introduced for frame duplication detection purposes. The proposed dataset is made of 210 native videos, in Ultra-HD and Full-HD resolution, captured with different cameras. Every video is 6 to 15 seconds in length and runs at 30 frames per second. All the recordings have been acquired in three different scenarios (indoor, outdoor, nature) and in landscape mode(s). VLFD includes both authentic and manipulated video files. This dataset has been created as an initial repository for manipulated video and enhanced with new features and new techniques in future.

Abstract:
Modern communication is greatly influenced by digital technologies which make available a new type of communication – hybrid oral-written communication, that is texts which contain both verbal and non-verbal components. This research is focused on a video article as a speech genre of academic communication, which appeared relatively recently on digital scientometric platforms. The article describes constitutive features of a video article, its discourse features, and its functional requirements. The video article refers to the oral-written iconic type of text which uses different channels of information transmission, such as oral and written, verbal and non-verbal. This genre can function not only in academic, but also in professional communication, in a number of discourses where the exchange of information about technological processes, professional tools and technologies is important. The variability of information channels in the video article allows detailing the description of the reference communication situation. The article also contains a comparison of the video article genre with other multimodal genres (cinematic text and explanation video). The pragmatics of an academic video article is to convey information to specialists with background knowledge in this area. The iconic code is necessary for more detailed information that is possible when switching to the first signaling system. The video article iconic code is presented in two ways. The first method is a figure with a schematic drawing or a photograph, and the second one is a video clip of the operation using advanced technologies or new tools. A video fragment is always accompanied by a verbal description of what is filmed. The video image has significant explanatory power, allowing the reader to pay attention to various nuances of the situation presented in the video article.

Abstract:
Multimedia information is getting more abundant and the means to produce it are becoming a commodity, but finding and managing multimedia content is getting harder and harder. In 1996, MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) started a project formally named "Multimedia Content Description Interface", but better known as MPEG-7, acknowledging the need to efficiently and effectively describe and retrieve multimedia information and recognizing the substantial technological developments in the area of multimedia content description. MPEG-7 sets a standard for multimedia description tools, notably so-called descriptors, description schemes, systems tools and a description definition language. MPEG-7 is generic in the sense that it is not specially designed or optimized for a particular application domain. It is however clear that image and video database applications are among its most important application domains. This paper intends to overview the context, objectives, technical approach, workplan and achievements of the MPEG-7 standard. The first version and main body of this standard should be ready by July 2001.

The construction of fuzzy-multiple models is aimed at reproducing the logic of decision making and is based on the use of intelligent methods of information processing, including those presented in fuzzy and verbal characteristics, by mathematical language means, which can be transferred to machine processing. The basis of the study is the provision on the vector form of the efficiency indicator and the implementation of the correspondence function between the basic parameters of efficiency through fuzzy inference. The article describes the developed basic conditions for simulation of fuzzy-multiple modeling in assessing the effectiveness of technological innovation management systems - the structure of the model and methods for its construction; presents the means of software implementation of a simulation fuzzy-plural model developed in accordance with these conditions and the results of its practical testing. The developed conditions of fuzzy-multiple modeling in assessing the effectiveness of technological innovations form the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the conditions of technological development of the enterprise, allow to identify significant management factors and form the content of an effective innovative strategy for the technological development of the enterprise; the fuzzy model itself can be considered as a platform for the integration of deterministic, stochastic, expert knowledge of the system.

Abstract:
This article is about recent changes in Pasean, a fishing village on the north coast of the island of Madura, Indonesia (see maps). The village has been described in detail in several publications based on research carried out in the area during 1977-1979, and a short visit in 1982. In May-August 2004, we did fieldwork for a restudy. In this article we report our findings on the changes in Pasean during the past 26 years. The article starts with a description of general changes. The second part deals more specifically with changes in Pasean’s fishing economy. Attention is paid to technological innovations, fishing methods, and trading patterns both within and outside fishery. A number of socio-economic changes, such as those in the division of labour and catches, are demonstrably related to the introduction of new technologies in fishery, but other social changes are less clearly technology-driven. An example of the latter is the klotok, a new type of perahu, the introduction of which was facilitated by the altered social circumstances and individualistic life-style of Pasean fishermen.

Abstract:
This article aims to discuss the role humour plays in politics, particularly in a media environment overflowing with user-generated video. We start with a genealogy of political satire, from classical to Internet times, followed by a general description of “the Hitler meme,” a series of videos on YouTube featuring footage from the film Der Untergang and nonsensical subtitles. Amid video-games, celebrities, and the Internet itself, politicians and politics are the target of twenty-first century caricatures. By analysing these videos we hope to elucidate how the manipulation of images is embedded in everyday practices and may be of political consequence, namely by deflating politicians' constructed media image. The realm of image, at the centre of the Internet's technological culture, is connected with decisive aspects of today's social structure of knowledge and play. It is timely to understand which part of “playing” is in fact an expressive practice with political significance.

INTRODUCTION The complexity of the tools used in sports requires constant technological change and improvement. In this paper we will highlight how technological innovations have influenced the development of sports. Is it true that technology has intervened in improving results in all sports? Many authors (Tidd et al., 1997; Tidd and Bessant, 2009; Hakansson and Snehota, 1995) have attempted to highlight the complex relationships between the innovation process and the incentives that lead to various sport-related inventions. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this paper we will use the method of analysis and description to show how technological innovation has influenced the development of sport. The complexity of the tools used in sports constantly requires technological changes and improvements. For example, gymnastics equipment, athletic vaulting poles, tennis rackets, bikes, roller skates and ice skates, etc. are constantly undergoing technological evolution. We will analyse how innovations such as: the use of rubber suits in swimming (2008), the increase in cycling speed by the invention of the mechanism that regulates the ratio of wheel speed (1935) or the use of light rubber and very resilient marathon running shoes (2013) have improved results, helping to achieve times at the maximum limits of human ability. RESULTS Comparing the results drawn from the analysis of scientific works of different authors gives us the opportunity to reach conclusions, which open new avenues of perspective in the sports sector in terms of the design and implementation of technology. The inclusion of technology in sports gives human society greater opportunities to reap its benefits for a more active life. DISCUSSION Data provided by various authors show that: the use of rubber suits in swimming (2008), increasing the speed in cycling by inventing the mechanism that regulates the ratio of wheel speed (1935) or the use of rubber lightweight and very resilient marathon running shoes (2013) have improved results, helping to achieve times at the maximum limits of human ability. In order for innovation to have the greatest impact on sports, cooperation and exchange of experiences is required between sports companies and large manufacturers of sports equipment in improving the technical aspects of the equipment they produce. CONCLUSIONS The involvement of innovation and technology at different levels have has unquestionably influenced the discovery of high-tech materials as well as the modification and improvement of various techniques. "Validating the “Seven Functions” Model of Technological Innovations Systems Theory with Industry Stakeholders—A Review from UK Offshore Renewables." Abstract:
Technological Innovation Systems theory, and its “functions” framework, have demonstrated their value as tools for exploring socio-technological transitions. Although the “seven functions” model has demonstrated its academic value across a vast literature, there have been few attempts to explore the model through the lens of industry stakeholder opinion. We believe that involving a relevant stakeholder group offers the potential for validating this approach, and even potentially enriching it. This research aims to address that shortfall. In 32 interviews with senior participants in the UK offshore wind, tidal stream and wave sectors and associated supply chain, policy makers, support organisations and other stakeholders, the validity of the seven well-established “Hekkert” functions was tested. The research found that the interviewees confirmed that all seven functions were necessary in characterising the emergence of the focal technologies, and analysis of the interviews allowed the definition and scope of each function to be enriched. The research also found that an additional function—defined as “Demonstrating Value”—was helpful in providing a more complete description of technology emergence. This function is defined and appropriate metrics for it are discussed. The authors suggest that this proposed enrichment of the “functions” model may provide a greater understanding of socio-technological transitions in the face of volatile external contextual factors, whose importance the current COVID pandemic has made all too obvious.

Abstract:
This paper examines the use of visual technologies by political activists in protest situations to monitor police conduct. Using interview data with Australian video activists this paper seeks to understand the motivations, techniques and outcomes of video activism, and its relationship to counter-surveillance and police accountability. Our data also indicated that there have been significant transformations in the organization and deployment of counter-surveillance methods since 2000, when there were large-scale protests against the World Economic Forum meeting in Melbourne accompanied by a coordinated campaign that sought to document police misconduct. The paper identifies and examines two inter-related aspects of this; the act of filming and the process of dissemination of this footage. It is noted that technological changes in the last decade have led to a proliferation of visual recording technologies, particularly mobile phone cameras, which have stimulated a corresponding proliferation of images. Analogous innovations in internet communications have stimulated a coterminous proliferation of potential outlets for images.. Video footage provides activists with valuable tools for safety and publicity. Nevertheless, we argue, video activism can have unintended consequences, including exposure to legal risks and the amplification of official surveillance. Activists are also often unable to control the political effects of their footage or the purposes to which it is used. We conclude by assessing the impact that transformations in both protest organization and media technologies might have for counter-surveillance techniques based on visual surveillance.

Abstract:
The article provides a general description and classification of bioethical committees from the point of view of the subject and goals of their activities, the nature of their authority, legal status, organizational and legal foundations of their activity. The bioethical committee is interpreted as a special institutional form of organizing scientific (interdisciplinary) and public understanding of moral and legal problems in the field of medicine, generated by technological innovations. In the system of social control the bioethical committee is a social institution that is either integrated into the system of public administration, or creates its own channels of influence on the position of the professional medical community and public opinion. From this point of view the article analyzes foreign and Russian history of bioethics committees institutionalization. The author interprets bioethics as a field of scientific and practical activity, the social purpose of which is to translate actual bioethical dilemmas, unsolvable on the basis of abstract principles, into the communicative space, where a consensus can be based on common moral intuitions. The article substantiates the thesis that the main intention of bioethics and bioethics committees, as an expression of its practical function, is to find a legal solution to problems. The author made proposals for improving the legal support for the creation and operation of bioethical committees in Russia.

It is impossible to obtain a full-fledged description of the industrial culture of Rus without studying the role of rural handicrafts. The research on the vector of development of rural blacksmith craft is of great interest, in particular, the extent to which this vector reflects the dynamics of urban craft. It was established that rural craftsmen did not only supply raw materials to urban craft centres and produce technologically simple products, but also embraced technological innovations. The accumulated analytical data made it possible to suggest the coinciding dynamics of the development of urban and rural handicrafts. The authors conducted a comparative analysis for such a category of objects as knives, which is one of the most numerous groups of iron tools. The article shows a complex picture of the chronological distribution of technological patterns for making knives on rural sites. It is concluded that the rural blacksmith craft in Rus was in constant development.

Abstract:
The need to formulate a new approach to a more effective analysis of the development of technological innovations has led to the creation of a number of concepts. One of them is the concept of technological innovation system (TIS). TIS is a systematic approach for understanding the development, diffusion and use of new technologies. The concept is widely used in the study of technological innovation in developed countries, becoming increasingly popular in developing countries. In Russia, this concept did not receive such wide development as abroad. This paper presents a detailed description of the basic conceptual milestones of TIS, shows the fundamental differences of this concept from other innovative concepts, its advantages and disadvantages. Based on the results of the analysis, it has been concluded that, despite the existing shortcomings, TIS provides a comprehensive analysis of the development of technologies within the framework of existing socio-political, economic and organizational factors. TIS promotes understanding of the mechanism of emergence and growth of new technologies and industries, focusing on the analysis of barriers and driving forces of this process. The results of TIS analysis are traditionally used as a basis for developing policy recommendations.

Abstract:
Video games have undergone an extensive technological advancement which has triggered a rapid shift in the role and potency the different media have gained in meeting infotainment needs. The widespread use of the internet has increased the frequency of video gaming among the youth thus promoting the emergence of linguistic material which could be instrumental in second language acquisition. The present paper aims to reveal the linguistic gains from virtual multicultural environments for video gamers in relation to their communication needs, a situation which rightfully characterizes them as bilinguals. Despite the continuing linguistic experimentation activities initiated by researchers, the video gamers’ language utilization has not been paid much attention to as potential research domain in bi/multilingualism. The research has capitalized on the germane information of a cross sectional survey conducted on secondary school video gamer students in Hungary by investigating their language use habits derived from video game usage. The ample research scope results contribute to filling the linguistic gap of word formation methods, translanguaging, diglossia and bidialectalism by comparing the international and Hungarian instances of the video gamer argot. We also journey through the description, modelling, explanation of several processes which could happen within and outside the digital world as an illustration of language use in contact.

Abstract:
The article explores the term "innovation", for which the authors use modern approaches to its understanding. According author’s mind, In the world economic literature, “innovation” is interpreted as the transformation of potential scientific and technological progress into real, embodied in new products and technologies. The issue of innovations in our country has traditionally been developed in the framework of economic research of scientific and technical progress. The term “innovation” has been actively used in the transition economy of Georgia, both independently and to denote a number of related concepts: innovation activity, innovation process, innovation solution, etc. To clarify the concept of innovation, we consider different views on its essence. After giving their own definition of the term, the authors proceed to the classification of innovations and note that their diversity and heterogeneity require some kind of work. According to the classification of the authors of the study, innovations are divided according to innovative potential, technological parameters, content, place in the enterprise, causes, nature of the needs being satisfied, degree of territorial novelty. The authors think that the innovation process as an object of management is much more complex than a routine production process. Any business performed by a person or an organization for the first time is nothing more than an innovation process (table), which causes a lot of difficulties and mistakes, requires alterations and adjustments. Routine processes, on the contrary, are repeated regularly, which leads to specialization and automation of personnel knowledge and skills, reduction of errors in the technological process, and development of a clear and effective algorithm of actions. In the process of research, the authors compiled a comparative description of the innovation and production processes and gave the concept, structure, content of the work of innovation processes at its main stages. In conclusion, the authors note that as F. Kotler notes, the development of a new product is most effective in those cases where from the very beginning there is close cooperation between the research and development department and the technical, manufacturing, marketing and financial departments of the company.

Abstract:
The Sustainable Development Goals have been criticized for not providing sufficient balance between human well-being and environmental well-being. By contrast, joint agent-environment systems theory is focused on reciprocal synchronous generative development. The purpose of this paper is to extend this theory towards practical application in sustainable development projects. This purpose is fulfilled through three interrelated contributions. First, a practitioner description of the theory is provided. Then, the theory is extended through reference to research concerned with multilevel pragmatics, competing signals, commitment processes, technological mediation, and psychomotor functioning. In addition, the theory is related to human-driven biosocial-technical innovation through the example of digital twins for agroecological urban farming. Digital twins being digital models that mirror physical processes; that are connected to physical processes through, for example, sensors and actuators; and which carry out analyses of physical processes in order to improve their performance. Together, these contributions extend extant theory towards application for synchronous generative development that balances human well-being and environmental well-being. However, the practical examples in the paper indicate that counterproductive complexity can arise from situated entropy amidst biosocial-technical innovations: even when those innovations are compatible with synchronous generative development.

Rapid technological advances give rise to the development of New Technology-Based Firms (NTBFs) which are focused on technology-based business models. One of the concerns is the changing pace of technology adoption and its impact on shortening the life cycle of goods and services based on technology. Technology tends to create more integration among communities, businesses, goods, and services. This integration can be seen in the substantial increase of firms, especially NTBFs, striving to improve international relations. In this regard, addressing the sustainability dimensions in light of technological change is of universal interest. Some studies highlight the role of technology in terms of its environmental impacts, whereas others describe technology as the main driving force of businesses towards innovation, which can lead to sustainability. This paper aims to examine international NTBFs to determine the factors, key drivers, and uncertainties impacting sustainability-oriented innovations concerning their encounter with technology and ultimately plan future scenarios for international NTBFs based on sustainability-oriented innovations. The description of the scenarios shows the importance of innovation development in digital technologies and the expansion of international relations, which is realized by using digital platforms. In addition to accelerating knowledge and innovation development to gain more key partners, we would observe target market expansion, cost reduction, and sustainability growth for international NTBFs. Identifying drivers and uncertainties and the future-oriented approach of this research provide insight to International NTBFs owners into realizing sustainability-oriented innovation by increasing their awareness of the opportunities and interventions to build capacity at the conceptualization and project management levels.

Abstract:
With the advancement of the technological field, day by day, people from around the world are having easier access to internet abled devices, and as a result, video data is growing rapidly. The increase of portable devices such as various action cameras, mobile cameras, motion cameras, etc., can also be considered for the faster growth of video data. Data from these multiple sources need more maintenance to process for various usages according to the needs. By considering these enormous amounts of video data, it cannot be navigated fully by the end-users. Throughout recent times, many research works have been done to generate descriptions from the images or visual scene recordings to address the mentioned issue. This description generation, also known as video captioning, is more complex than single image captioning. Various advanced neural networks have been used in various studies to perform video captioning. In this paper, we propose an attention-based Bi-LSTM and sequential LSTM (Att-BiL-SL) encoder-decoder model for describing the video in textual format. The model consists of two-layer attention-based bi-LSTM and one-layer sequential LSTM for video captioning. The model also extracts the universal and native temporal features from the video frames for smooth sentence generation from optical frames. This paper includes the word embedding with a soft attention mechanism and a beam search optimization algorithm to generate qualitative results. It is found that the architecture proposed in this paper performs better than various existing state of the art models.

RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: Since the vast majority of the students are now highly digitalized, their expectations towards the methods applied to teaching changes compared to past practices. Therefore with the use of observation of the in-class interactions and the quiz results of the teaching sessions, we compare the efficiency of using video and traditional case studies. The study is conducted on the sample of 119 undergraduate students of International Business. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The paper starts with a brief summary of the existing research on using video case studies in teaching. Next we describe the reasoning for our own empirical research, followed by the research design and method explanation. We discuss the results in division for qualitative in-class observations and quantitative accuracy of the in-class quiz. The paper ends with conclusions including study limitations and future recommendations. RESEARCH RESULTS: The study shows that application of up-to-date technological tools brings better efficiency to the teaching-learning process. The students perception of the subject is higher if the knowledge is passed with use – in our case – of the video. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The study confirms that diversifying the teaching methods and bringing technology into class allows more efficient learning process. Therefore, it is recommended that – if possible – educators incorporate more interactive, virtual tools into their teaching programs.

Abstract:
Introduction: Currently Europe regards itself as a leader in the global race towards smart automated transport. According to ERTRAC, European Road Transport Research Advisory Council, automated driving innovation is motivated by technological advancements as well as “social goals of equality”. This article analyzes to what extent such dimensions of gender and diversity have become visible in smart car advertisements and how they correspond with the notion of Gender-Smart Mobility, which signifies equal and accessible transport solutions. Methods: Guided by theoretical notions of gender scripts and discourse analysis, this article addresses how perspectives of smart technology, gender, and class are carved out and handled in YouTube videos applied as marketing tools. Using visual analysis as a method, videos from well-known car producers such as BMW and Volvo are scrutinized. The visual analysis includes a presentation of the car company, descriptions of the most relevant YouTube videos, and discussion of the findings. Results: The visual analysis of the Volvo and BMW YouTube videos points to the lack of inclusiveness. There continues to be a prevalent reproduction of gendered stereotypes in the videos, not least in the notion of ‘hyper masculinity’ storytelling by BMW and how leaders (be they women or men) look, i.e., middle-class people. Volvo, on the other hand, has maintained its focus on female professionals in parallel with the introduction of new and energy-saving cars. Yet, a rather one-sided presentation of a professional business-woman is depicted as a replication of the businessman. Conclusion: In the final section, it is assessed how the visual branding complies with the notion of Gender-Smart Mobility, a concept that was developed in the EU Horizon 2020 project TInnGO. The two brands meet the Gender-Smart Mobility indicator, but only to some degree. None of the companies are fully inclusive, and it is difficult to label them as gender-smart and sustainable despite their ambitions of feeding into the green transition.
