Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract:
Man's knowledge is moving towards new discoveries every day. No matter how much you discover it is a bit of a challenge to figure out what the human mind is thinking. What do we think in our hearts when we all know the proverb that ‘being in a pot is like being in a bag’? That's what we'll talk about. But do we speak in all cases and circumstances? Seems to think a bit if. Searching for the answer, Sigmund Freud says that the outside does not show what the inside thinks. I put forward this idea and searched in the Sangam literature in which a lot of the literature had the claim of a friend but in five of the five consecutive songs the friend's claim is in the same mood as the friend's mentality. The way the friend answers the leader's question of what you and the leader thought of me during the time I went to the leader's whore shows the friend's inner state most wonderfully. There are many reasons why an individual may not disclose his inner state to others out of fear, shame, danger, indifference, good, evil, etc. Here the friend does not disclose to the leader what she thinks inwardly because the leader is not saying it is in the best interest of the family not to split up. At the same time what you do directly to the leader is wrong and only you know how to make a mistake? Can we go to the whore too? Thinking that there will be trouble in the family again if asked, the friend hides the virtuous deeds of the leader without revealing anything and at the same time hides the false whore behavior of the leader indirectly through the parable without revealing what he thought indirectly. It was only in the eighteenth century that Sigmund Freud stated that the external mind does not reflect what the inner mind thinks. But it can be seen that Oram Pokiyar, who wrote the Sangam literary Vetkai Pathu in Tamil 2000 years ago, has shown the psychology that the external does not show what the inner thinks.

Abstract:
Summary: The value of the marginal product (vmp) for veterinary services and medical supplies (vetmed), and the profit maximizing level of vetmed were estimated for dairy producers. Data from the Pennsylvania Farmers Association-Dairy Farm Business Analysis system during the years of 1986 to 1990 were used to evaluate the functional relationship between production and expenditures for vetmed. Other input variables examined were man-year equivalents of labor, asset values, value of feed fed, and culling rate. Data were screened to reflect economically viable dairy farms in Pennsylvania, and 173 such farms participated for each of the 5 years analyzed. The vmp was estimated for 1990. Profit maximizing levels for vetmed were estimated for 1990 holding other input variables at their mean values. Mean expenditures for vetmed were $2,606/farm, or $43/cow in 1990. The vmp for vetmed was estimated to be $3.22 or $4.98, depending on the method of calculation. In other words, the marginal dollar spent on vetmed generated $3.22 ($4.98) in additional revenue from milk production. The profit maximizing level of expenditures for vetmed was $138/cow, substantially more than the mean, indicating the potential for farms in this data set to improve profitability through additional expenditures on vetmed.

Abstract:
AbstractThe Vietnam Era Twin Study of Aging (VETSA) is a large-scale investigation of cognitive aging from middle to later age. The intended sample of 1440 twin subjects is recruited from the Vietnam Era Twin Registry (VETR), a registry of middle-aged male-male twin pairs who both served in the military during the Vietnam conflict (1965–1975). VETSA employs a multitrait multimethod approach to cognitive assessment to focus on the genetic and environmental contributions to cognitive processes over time, as well as the relative contributions to cognitive aging from health, social, personality, and other contextual factors. The cognitive domains of episodic memory, working memory, abstract reasoning, and inhibitory executive functioning are assessed through neuropsychological testing. In addition, VETSA obtains the participant's score on the Armed Forces Qualification Test, taken at the time of induction into the military around age 20 years, and readministers the test. Two other projects — VETSA Cortisol and VETSA Magnetic Resonance Imaging — are also in progress using subsamples of the VETSA twins. Prior waves of data collection by VETSA investigators using the VETR have provided historical data on physical and mental health, while future waves of VETSA data collection are planned every 5 years. These methods will provide data on multiple pheno-types in the same individuals with regard to genetic and environmental contributions to cognitive functioning over time, personality and interpersonal risk and protective factors, stress and cortisol regulation, and structural brain correlates of aging processes.

Abstract:
The Vietnam Era Twin Study of Aging (VETSA) is a longitudinal behavioral genetic study with a primary focus on cognitive and brain aging in men. It comprises a subset of over 1,200 twins from the Vietnam Era Twin Registry. Like many other studies of aging, the VETSA includes many different phenotypes, but there are some key features that distinguish it from most other behavioral genetic aging studies. First, the initial assessment was conducted when all participants were middle-aged. Second, the age range of participants is narrow; all were in their 50s at the time of the initial recruitment. Third, the study includes an extensive and demanding neurocognitive test battery that was designed to provide good coverage of different cognitive abilities and avoid ceiling effects in middle-aged adults. Fourth, young adult cognitive test data (at an average age of 20 years) are available to provide a gauge of cognitive change. These features make the VETSA ideal for studying the heterogeneity of within-individual trajectories from midlife to old age, and for early detection of risk factors for cognitive decline.

Abstract:
An accurate estimate of wind resource assessment is essential for the identification of potential site for wind farm development. The hourly average wind speed measured at 50 m above ground level over a period of 39 years (1980-2018) from 25 locations in Tamil Nadu, India have been used in this study. The annual and seasonal wind speed trends are analyzed using linear and Mann-Kendall statistical methods. The annual energy yield, and net capacity factor are obtained for the chosen wind turbine with 2 Mega Watt rated power. As per the linear trend analysis, Chennai and Kanchipuram possess a significantly decreasing trend, while Nagercoil, Thoothukudi, and Tirunelveli show an increasing trend. Mann-Kendall trend analysis shows that cities located in the southern peninsula and in the vicinity of the coastal regions have significant potential for wind energy development. Moreover, a majority of the cities show an increasing trend in the autumn season due to the influence of the retreating monsoons which is accompanied with heavy winds. The mean wind follows an oscillating pattern throughout the year at all the locations. Based on the net annual energy output, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi and Nagapattinam are found to be the most suitable locations for wind power deployment in Tamil Nadu, followed by Cuddalore, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur and Tirunelveli.

Abstract:
Abstract Previous research by the Vietnam Era Twin Study of Aging (VETSA) demonstrated an association between erectile dysfunction (ED) and cognitive functioning. That finding supports a hypothesis that cardiovascular dysfunction may underlie both ED and problems in cognitive functioning. The purpose of the current research was to extend these findings by investigating a putative association between ED and amnestic and non-amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI). MCI is of particular interest because of its relationship with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementing illnesses. VETSA is a longitudinal study of twins who served in the US military during the Vietnam conflict (N= 960) consisting of data collected at age 20 (enlistment), age 55 (VETSA 1), and 61 (VETSA 2). The results of the current analyses show that ED is related to both amnestic MCI (p=.032) and non-amnestic MCI (p=.009) at VETSA 1. At VETSA 2, however, the relationship between ED and non-amnestic MCI was no longer significant (p=.751) while the relationship between ED and amnestic MCI was stronger (p=.001). These results are consistent with ED and MCI sharing, to some extent, a common etiology. Vascular dysfunction, which is associated with both ED and MCI, is a plausible mechanism responsible for the observed relationship. These results also highlight the potential role that may be played by ED as an early indicator of cognitive impairment and, perhaps, pre-symptomatic AD.

This article suggests that vetted urban encyclopedias need to revisit their roots as community enterprises and reimagine and reengage those connections in order to allow their vetted content to remain competitive with Wikipedia and other open-source online resources.

Abstract:
AbstractTwo experiments determined the effects of daily oral supplements of vitamin A (retinol) and injected preparations of vitamin A on liver vitamin A concentration and plasma carotenoid (PC) concentration. Vetade is an oily injectable vitamin A preparation, while Nov-a-Vit is an aqueous injectable vitamin A preparation. Angus crossbred heifers were used in experiment 1 and Angus and Simmental crossbred steers were used in experiment 2. All cattle grazed pasture but were given also 1 kg per head of pellets daily and vitamin A supplements were included in the pellets when required. In experiment 1, one group of heifers was given 1 × 106i.u. vitamin A per head daily for 31 days, while a second group in another part of the paddock was not supplemented with vitamin A. A third group of heifers grazed with this latter group and was injected with 2·5 × 106i.u. vitamin A (Vetade) three times weekly. The oral vitamin A supplement proportionately reduced plasma and liver carotenoid concentrations by 0·49 and 0·41 respectively, while increasing liver vitamin A concentration three-fold. By contrast, the Vetade failed to increase liver vitamin A concentration or to reduce liver and plasma carotenoid concentrations. In experiment 2, two groups of steers were injected twice weekly for 7 weeks with 2 × 106i.u. vitamin A as Nov-A-Vit or as Vetade. A third treatment group, grazing with these steers, received no vitamin A injection, while a fourth group grazing in a separate area of the paddock was supplemented daily with 1 × 106i.u. vitamin A per head in their diet. The injection of Nov-A-Vit and the oral vitamin A supplement decreased PC concentration by a similar amount but the increase in liver vitamin A concentration was larger for steers injected with Nov-A-Vit. Vetade injections failed to increase liver vitamin A concentration and there was no decrease in PC concentration. The plasma cholesterol concentration for the treatment groups varied over the duration of the experiment but could not be related to the vitamin A treatment or to the changes in PC concentration. These results indicate that vitamin A injections can be used to reduce PC concentration provided they increase liver vitamin A concentration.

Abstract:
The work is carried out in the framework of the onion F1 breeding program. The practical purpose of the work is to carry out genetic selection of onion forms using molecular genetic markers of male sterility in the course of obtaining the maternal line for heterotic selection of F1 hybrids. The scientific component of these studies was the study of the population-genetic basis of various types of male sterility in onions of the Belarusian genmplasma. We used belarusian varieties Vetraz and Skarb litvinov and a collection of other varieties and hybrids. Markers of the mitochondrial genes orfA501, cob and the nuclear alleles Ms/ms, cosegregating with genes of fertility restorer/S-sterility maintainer genes, were studied. It has been shown that in the Vetraz variety are observed plants with the N- or T-cytotype in N-cytoplasm (TN-). The belarusian variety Scarb litvinov contains plants with the cytotypes N-, S, TN-, SN-, STN-. As a result, it was concluded that the male sterility of the Vetraz variety is T-type, and in the Scarp litvinov variety is complex, and is caused by the cytoplasmic alleles S- and T-. In both varieties: Vetraz and Scarb litvinov the sources of the ms locus causing the S-type of male sterility have been identified. Less than one-fifth of the number of world collection of varieties and hybrids was detected as Scytotype. This value is smaller than the value given in the scientific literature. However it may reflect the significant spread of the original S-cytoplasm of a single plant of the shortday Italian Red variety in the world onion germplasm.
