Abstract:
The topic of my thesis is an architectural study of a multifunctional residental building located at Svitava river bank which is surrounded by streets named Masna, Krenova and Hladikova. The objective of the study is to design a building that would utilize the space effectively and restore its function. As a result of the study, my project is divided into three compounds with the inner being a semi-public space, linked to its sruroundings by many passages and two main boulevards. The three combounds are composed of one administration block which is four storeys and the other two compounds are five storeys high, with the ground and first floors being different facilities e.g. kindergarden, restaurant, bank ,café, clinics, library, gallery, shops and a senior center. From the third to the fifth floor there are designated housing apartments comprising of small economic flats. The building has a two-floor basement, with a supermarket, technical facilities and parking. The construction of the building is from monolithic reinforced concrete frame, with the horizontal structure composed of beamless slabs. The facade is designed by using a combination of two materials i.e. white plaster and timber cladding as horizontal panels.

The locality is situated in the city quarter Brno-Židenice in close proximity of the railway line connecting Brno and Česká Třebová. The area is delimited by the Bubeníčkova Street from the South, the Koperníkova Street from the East, by Lazaretní Street from the North and by a road copying the railway line from the West. The elemental form of the projected compound is divided into three blocks by pass-through axes. The blocks are interconnected with a common basement where underground car park is located. The blocks have up to six floors above ground. On the first floor, there is a variety of commercial spaces for shops and restaurants and in the middle there is a supermarket. In the northern object, there are situated different types of amenities (kinder-garden, leisure activities for children, spa) on the second and higher floors. On the top floor of this object we can find the flats as well as in the middle building from the second floor. The commercial areas, offices and library are situated in the southern block.

Abstract:
The main of objective of this diploma thesis is to define health care as economic goods based on the theoretical definitions. The fact whether health care should be considered as private goods or public goods plays a vital role in this debate. The initial hypothesis presupposes that health care is (based on the basic economic criteria) private goods; however there is objective evidence demonstrating that health care should be understood in terms of public goods. The author defines the necessary terminology and theoretical concepts. According to several expert concepts the author concludes that based on the basic economic definitions health care could be understood as private goods, admitting that in the real world objective limitations exist, which prevent keeping health care exclusively in the economic sphere. The thesis also evaluates the role of individual health care sectors, including their drawbacks. The author demonstrates all concepts on the Czech health care system. In the analytic part of the thesis the author demonstrates discrepancies between theoretical concepts and practice on specific models, including the risks of exclusively private financing of health care. For this purpose three income groups has been defined. The author compares expenditures of these groups on selected medical services with different levels of their savings. The thesis also deals with methods of economical analysis and its limitations in health care system analysis.

Abstract: The work An Intimate and Public Space surveys a two-year period of work on the rebirth of a garden situated in Jicin, in Pod Kostofrankem street. A private garden, located in the very town centre, and the town itself which is in a close connection with its surrounding landscape inspired Radka Mizerova, a student of stage design at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU (University of Dramatic Arts) for further professional work. The garden space was recultivated, renovated and occasionally opened for all sorts of cultural events such as workshops, performances and concerts within the scope of two years. The most important and systematic work, that was carried out in the garden during that time, was the creation of the authorial performance named Baba Yaga, inspired by Russian fairy tales and the garden itself.

In the study, we solve the central square of the town Ivančice extent: Palacky square, Comenius Square and surrounding areas of the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with a part of Mill Street. The basic principle of the proposal is to create a bright urbanized area with a clearly organized traffic and movement of pedestrians. The proposal defines the space Palacky Square following the original historical rectangle plan approaching and divides it into three parts: The first part is a central rectangular area, which blended currently fragmented space. This empty space showcases a Baroque plague column and the fountain with the statue of St. Florian. As a counterweight to the plague column and the fountain is in the opposite half of the rectangle designed water feature in the form of three water jets, which creates a water column of a time his height. Water features does not make the water and in the case of holding larger events it is possible to turn off the water element and thereby clear the entire area of central rectangle. Water feature highlights the main entrance to the church. The central rectangular space will be used as the venue for cultural, sporting and market activities. The second part is operating within the traffic lane pedestrian zones defined lighting and street furniture around the perimeter of serving in a restricted mode for supply. The third part of the irregular portion adjacent to the home life partners defined various commercial activities. Within Comenius Square was left a greater number of parking spaces, but that was přeřešeno such a way as to create wider sidewalks along the larger home and a new expansion bays for seating and meeting and commercial purposes neighboring establishments catering zařízení.4 Almost all surfaces are vertically aligned and newly paved granite chipped tiles (using the existing historic paving). Abstract:
The Philharmonic building is designed as a circular central building located in the center of an elliptical water ring. The house moderately expands to upward by an angle of ten degrees. This compositional princip implicitly refers to the morphology of ancient temples, but his reasoning is mostly functional. The water ring has a maximal size considering the size of the park, in spite of it is a significant limit for dimensions of the object. First floor therefore builds up the smallest possible surface area of the ring and each higher floor is increased according to the need of the philharmonic, especially so the floor area suffises to the big amount of dressing rooms and rehearsal. The total cubic capacity of the object is almost minimalist, a concert hall and other necessary equipment is designed in the lower limit of the minimum dimensions. The philharmonic is opened to the neighborhood around the perimeter of all floors, behind the facade common life takes place, this fact makes the building visually interesting. In the daylight, when traffic is muted, it gives the impression of the stoic temple, but in the evening it "coming to life". Architectural expression is subordinated to this princip. The facade is designed from structural glazing, to achieve the greatest possible effect of transparency. The abstract shaping without natural scale of the window or other articulated architectural elements is chosen with respect to the principle philharmonic as a temple of music, not primarily "only" public building. Requirements for the indoor climate indicate a need of the interior shading. In accordance with previous principles the shading elements are chosen abstractly as continuous vertical wooden beams starting at different height with respect to public space inside of the building.

Abstract:
The territory lies in the City of Brno, in the urban district of Zábrdovice. From the east it is demarcated by the Svitava River, from the south by the Cejl Street, and from the west by the Jan Svoboda Street. Its area is approximately 18,790 m2. From the standpoint of urban planning¸ the intensive house is a separate city block, which is, nevertheless, open in the eastern direction towards the Svitava River, thus communicating with the embankment. In the other direction there is both private and semi-private space inside the block as a relaxation green “garden” in several levels. The mass of the object links up in the prolonged line with the existing neighbouring blocks and thus respects the integrity of the territory. Intensive use of the territory consists in the achievement of high density of built-up area, and at the same time preserving the surroundings of quality for life and habitation. Functions are mixed here and a city of short distances is created here with nearly excluded traffic. In order to achieve such intensity, space urbanism is employed. The principle consists in a simple linear form of masses respecting the shape of the lot, which is vivified with an ellipsoid located in the courtyard, which is an accent towards the linear form. The ellipsoid serves as a small cultural and exhibition centre, at the same time connecting all the arms of the defining block and bringing daylight to the first floor. The block is open in the direction to the river and its half-public space is connected with the embankment with a staircase and verdure. Verdure is also made use of on the roofs. The defining mass is perforated, thus creating covered terraces. The principal architectonic intention was to create an integrated structure, where a significant role is played by the introduction of nature and polyfunctionality to the whole territory, thus increasing its attractivity. City council of Klatovy town in the Czech Republic submitted a contract for a new town park project on the place called "Za sv. Jakubem" in 2005. Studio SILVEX represented by Ing. Pavel Borusík won this contract and created a feasibility study as the first step of the project documentation. Till now the study has not been realized because of problematic ownership issues within the concerned area. This diploma thesis strives to solve the question of the up-to-dateness of that project which has been suspended for ten years by now. The main subjects of this thesis have been the project content evaluation, verification of up-to-dateness and to design a new solution respecting current and future needs of the city inhabitants and park users. Literary overview of the current state of the problem deals with public space areas characteristics, city park characteristics, graveyard characteristics including types of graveyards, burials, graves, burial history in the Czech Republic and Jewish cemeteries. The thesis addresses with the impact of the death on survivors and greenery effects as a green place useful for meditation. The graveyard topic is elaborated because of the geographical distance of Klatovy's town's graveyard to the intended park area. Evaluation of detailed data provides the fundamental information about Klatovy and the park place, brief contents and main thoughts of feasibility study "Za sv. Jakubem", own verification of the available documentation including changes in the property relations. All together it had served as a basis for designing new park concept proposal, which responds adequately to demands of park users. The project by Studio SILVEX proposes park place with purely town meaning, containing children playground, in-line skating track and other sport activities. The diploma thesis's park concept transforms the project with focus on scenery locations and relax place for visitors of the nearby town graveyard.

Urbanistic solution covers an area in close distance from the Masaryk Square, where the effort is to offer housing in the newly designed residential district. Diploma thesis also contains a design for completion and increase of capacity of the social services complex which is adjacent to the park by Saint Josef Chapel. This park is a part of the urbanistic design as well. The studied area is bordered by the streets of Újezd, Dobrovského, Dvořákova, Klvaňova, Brandlova and Palackého třída. Although Kyjov is situated mostly on plains the studied area is in a hilly and disunited part of the city. Buildings in this area are rather low-rise and mainly used for housing purposes. The design is focused on offering varied housing, which relates to the existing buildings and develops unused public space. Scope of this diploma thesis also contains a vision for the year 2070. The vision focuses on an area currently with high-rise blocks of flats. This area is adjacent to the newly designed residential district.

Part of the thesis are the analysis of the current condition of the solved and affected area, problems evaluation and values of the territory and draft of a new building structure along with a working transport solution. The main criterion for the choice of the area to be solved for me was the problem of this locality with conjunction to industry area of the mills and a very small percentage of the quality of the territory. The mill site occupies almost a quarter of the area and together with surrounding buildings, makes a large impassable barrier in the city. The draft seeks to respond to the functioning state of the site and to rehabilitate the surrounding environment. Another factor for the selection of the territory was the unused potential of the river side Kyjovka flowing through the area. This area hides many other problems and there is no quality architecture. My task was to combine all aspects of the area and make the most of it for the draft. A new functional neighborhood of housing with public spaces and amenities is being designed on the area. The draft include 2 new streets, 4 public spaces, pedestrian zone, Kyjovka riverside, 45 new buildings and 10 reconstructed buildings. The concept of the area also concerns the transfer of the existing main railway station. The draft is also aimed on the main problem of Kyjov, as a growing age population, the poor quality of services and commuting to work.

Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the construction and activation of the territory in connection with the historical center of Kyjov. Part of the proposal was to work with an existing urban brownfield and an extensive park, which accounts for almost half the area under consideration. The goal, as I set out in my work, is to activate the territory and design an urban sprawl with a suitable functional structure. The proposed design respects the context and character of the site in a modern and sustainable manner. The principles followed in my work are based on the current urban and city-forming rules. I have put an emphasis on the human scale, the priority of pedestrians over traffic, and especially the shortcomings and needs in the territory that arise from the analysis. The draft concept is based on the permeability and interconnection of the individual parts of the city, the insertion of a new public space and the completion of the city block. The new urban sprawl clearly defines the street, completes the boundaries and makes the most of the area on the released land. The newly designed buildings are residential and multi-functional houses with active parterres. Part of the proposal is the revitalization of the city park, which explores its hidden potential. The basic step is to remove obstacles in the permeability of the park and to highlight its strengths, such as the flowing river Kyjovka, healthy large trees and the size of the park itself.

Kyjov is causing me to have four passwords – it's a small town, tradition, affection and understanding. Small town as in salvation in the modesty, the picturesqueness of knowledge. The tradition, which are for city important and based on them. They are, for example, folk songs, costume, feast, dialects and all that yet remained of the past. Affection is the quality of the architecture, which, although already expired, but still her remains remain. And the last password understanding, and especially in chanting traditions, the preservation of its values, grasping and grappling or finding your uniqueness. At work I dedicate spaces around Kyjovka from Boršov the south end of the city. I try to just flow so neprotékal, but to engage in the urban environment of Kyjov. I have several places that I've re-energise, give them value and use the reserves for the thickening building. These spaces have a new application and are a place to stop, lift up the city and open to visitors and current residents. Kyjovka communicates not only with parks, but even with the new buildings and its features, you will be able to get closer to the stream and found in it a place to rest, but also to entertain or to walk.

Abstract:
Summary The diploma thesis discusses a topic of urban community gardens, which are growing trend over recent years in the Czech Republic. First of all the thesis focus on the need of urban human contact for nature elements. It outlines a brief history and development of urban gardening in the Czech Republic. The literary section proceeds further with concrete examples of existing community gardens, both abroad and in our country, it compares the situation of community gardening in Prague and Vienna and it is trying to sort through a diverse range of urban gardening and community gardens. It shows possible causes of this phenomenon and its objectives, features and benefits. The significance of this thesis is to show a diverse range of topics that appear in community gardens. Among the main are the following: regional supply, diversity of cultivated varieties, self-sufficiency and sustainability, common ownership, social interaction, informal education, protection and promotion of the environment. Equally important consequence of community gardens is the ability to think about the context and the change in attitude towards consumerism. The potential of community gardens in urban public space can also contain possible solutions to a wide range of local and global issues and challenges of contemporary society. On top of that there are developing relationships at all possible levels. The literary section in the end mentions public space and community. The practical part of this thesis was dedicated to project, which focused on Community garden Vidimova in Prague. This garden is located in the courtyard of a former kindergarten. The building is currently used by the Municipality of Prague district 11. Designed space garden has nearly 3,800 square meters. Development here has the character of a settlement with dense construction mainly residential multi-storey panel buildings. The project proposal was based on analyses of regional relations, natural conditions and the evaluation of the current state of the territory and its community. It is an constantly growing community that now includes over 40 regular members. This garden has a great potential to incorporate a wider range of users, but above all it is necessary to involve all concerned subjects in decision-making and the creation of this garden.

Abstract:
The theme of this diploma thesis is dedicated to the concept generally known as brownfields, how we call the industrial buildings or entire production areas which for various reasons have ceased to serve its purpose and deteriorate. This phenomenon is increasinly urgent topic of discussions since the fast surface development of settlements results in the incorporation of buildings formerly located at the settlements edges to the inner parts of the settlements urbanism. These objects may be subject to decay as well as the development of the specific areas in which they are located. There are many places with this fate in Prague, however as the most interesting site I have chosen a waterfront in the city center which formerly served as a transshipment and a storage of building materials. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the potential of the selected site, creating a project proposal, that would be the benefit for city residents. The selected location is a released space in the heart of the city and thus provides a unique opportunity to dedicate this area to all citizens as a public space and not to succumb to private interests. The used methods for gaining the outcome of the thesis include reading the literature on given topic, writing of research and development of analytical data or site research. Thanks to these methods the first options for solutions can be defined in its primary forms for creating a project study. For these reasons the thesis is separated into the text and project part. Design of the study is to revitalize the waterfront and restore it into a park which is used for both social life and recreation. Recreation is possible in its active as well as passive form on the multifunctional surface of the residential lawns of the river banks. In the urban planning of the city the contact with the river is a unique spatial experience which can´t be offered by a street or a square. Once we grasp the river area not only as the line ashore but also as the development across the board, the river area offers also other ways to develop the recreational function. The direct involvement of the water element, with the assistance of the architectural elements as sitting stairs, piers, pontoons or ships is maximally exploiting the potential of the site. Bank as a space that belongs to the river, which is flooded at regular intervals, is not possible to build up or land the bankside vegetation without previous thought. For this reason the proposal suggests only airy solution with minimalist vegetation across the direction of the water stream to serve as least as possible as the barrier during floods. Part of the study design itself is a functional and project proposal for the reconstruction of the crushing plant of the former dumping grounds, which must surely be maintained in their original form as the link to the former inhabitants and their heritage for present generations in the historical industrial district. For the building of the crushing plant I suggest a new way of functional use, which is friendly to this building of monument protection, preserving maximum of its appearance and at the same time can also provide a financial return. As the new service inside of this brownfield object I suggest climbing walls to be placed in the reinforced concreete tubes which connects the idea of preserving the industrial heritage with the idea to establish a new community site designated for recreation. I see the contribution of this thesis in the fact that the idea of the classical urban park is developed in a way which uses all the facilities offered by the presence of water so that the unique character of this location is supported for common good. I believe I have chosen frugal and therefore stable form of usage for this brownfield object, that would have the capability of a long-term survival and for this purpose enrich not only the urban life, but provides the cashflow too.

Barcelona – Highschool Barcelona – Vallcarca Vallcarca is a city district with very special character, rugged topography, heterogenous social structure and two different scales of constructions. It is also an important pedestrian connection between park Güell and other city parks. Soon, its probable, that considerable changes will happen here. Except the highschool, the objective was to create on our land a quality public space for students and also for Vallcarca and if possible to reuse the building of the old school. The public square is surrounded by highschool building, used by Vallcarca inhabitants. New public passage between two levels is planned, for better connection between Güell and other parks. The hisgh school is planned as four pavillions with different height, connected between them by private courtyards or public street. Students animate the public space, walking among the school functions. The principal entrance is against the old school building, its an open-air vestibule, coverred by pergola. The height of pavillions reacts on the landscape and the scale of surrounding buildings. Inside, the pavillions are composed of two tracts – the classes and the gallery. Every pavillion has two stairs and the gallery is in contact with the courtyard. At the ends of gallerie are student loggias, used as entertainment space. The same purpose has the hall in the ancient stone mine. On the other side of the street, the old school building is used as restaurant, with its facilities in the new extension. The public space is limited on the south side by new construction of the library.

Presented diploma theses is focused on revitalization of urban park in Prague. This thesis is composed of three parts. Initial part represents review of selected literature dealing with public space, its meaning, historical development, and qualities. In connection to this theme it deals with one specific form of public space, urban park, and public greenery in general. In this chapter qualities of urban public space are examined together with current issues and trends in new urban space designs and revitalizations. The second part is concentrated on the place of interest and its analyses. The core of this part is to collect wide range of information about the area. Emphasis is put on environmental factors, historical development, and space factors of close surrounding. Analyses of current use was done by field investigation and social survey, which was done by questioner. Other information was collected by personal interviews with local representatives and park users. Requirements of local users were collected as well. Design of selected area composes the last part of the theses. Concept of new park layout comes out from characteristics creating current state and is inspired by historical context. At the same time, it is based on requirements of its users. Presented design is drawn up as case study, which is supported by representative sections and visualizations. This part covers design of crucial details as well. To keep a track of design general cost estimate is presented. The core of this design is to create a space which is attractive to its users, who will spend more time in public space and share it with its neighbours.

Abstract:
Vertical gardens are considered to be quite a recent topic in the world of landscape architecture. Companies are pushed to come up with new technologies regarding application of the vegetation on the vertical surfaces. Interior vertical gardens are more common in Czech Republic than the exterior vertical gardens because of the local climate. Interior vertical gardens are not just beautiful but they present a lot of other positive functions. Nowadays, a lot of people are suffering by the Sick Building Syndrome which is caused by bad microclimate of modern buildings. This problem can be solved by using indoor plants. Indoor plants improve air humidity and quality and have a positive psychological effect. The subject of this thesis is designing three interior vertical gardens in Observatory of the Zizkov tower in Prague. Simple and attractive design of the interior is underlined by the vertical gardens. Objective of the thesis is creating unifying theme of the vertical garden´s design but using different kind of technologies and plants. Analysis of factors important for creating interior vertical gardens, such as light conditions, temperature and air humidity and technical infrastructure, are part of the thesis. The project part of the thesis includes design of the interior vertical gardens, technical information about particular technologies which have been used, planting plans and visualizations owadays majority of people spend most of the time indoors. Interior vertical gardens connect people with nature. Because of that they are very important in the modern architecture. However, vertical gardens are still quite expensive which is considered to be their biggest downside.

An Effective motivation must be focused on characteristics of both the subject and the target. The greatest economic subject is the national economy with two cooperating sectors -- private, based on private ownership, and public sector financed by public sources. People engaged in one of these sectors can have various ideas and claims. For all managers, it is essential to know these claims and interests in order to apply a convenient motivation method. The aim of the proposed diploma thesis is to contribute to a solution of the following question -- is it necessary to motivate employees in public sector differently than employees in private sector? For this purpose I designed and evaluated a questionnaire. The main topic is put into the context of the environment, which non-profit organizations are formed in. My main aim was to analyse the current state of non-profit organizations in Germany and to compare it with conditions in Czech republic. Finaly I tried to apply the resulting positives to our environment. I have compared cultural sectors of both countries (definition of these sectors, the issue of financing), their cultural policy, non-profit organizations and their legal forms, and theater itself including the transformation of public theaters. Attempts of such transformation are in progress in both countries.
