Full textA variety M of associative algebras (over a field F) is called ``nonmatrix\'\' if F² is not in M, where F² is the usual matrix algebra of second order over F. Latyshev introduced these varieties in 1977. Concerning this definition, other equivalent characterizations for a nonmatrix variety were obtained, for instance, by considering algebraic (Cekanu, 79) and nilpotent (Mishchenko et all, 2011) elements. Non-matrix varieties are studied mainly in the case of characteristic zero for associative algebras. However, the general theory of varieties of algebras is not restricted to the class of associative algebras. In addition to the Lie algebras, among many classes of non associative algebras, we highlight the alternative, the Jordan and the non commutative Jordan algebras. These classes of algebras have many connexions and applications to several areas of Mathematics and Physics and have a well-developed structural theory, as in the class of associative algebras. The concept of ``nonmatrix variety\'\' can be reformulated in the classes of algebras above and our work is to adapt, extend or generalize some results, as mentioned, for non-matrix varieties in these classes of algebras.

Full textThis thesis surveys the issue of finding rational points on algebraic curves over finite fields. Since Goppa's construction of algebraic geometric codes, there has been great interest in finding curves with many rational points. Here we explain the main tools for finding rational points on a curve over a nite eld and provide the necessary background on ring and field theory. Four different articles are analyzed, the first of these articles gives a complete set of table showing the numbers of rational points for curves with genus up to 50. The other articles provide interesting constructions of covering curves: covers by the Hemitian curve, Kummer extensions and Artin-Schreier extensions. With these articles the great difficulty of finding explicit equations for curves with many rational points is overcome. With the method given by Arnaldo García in [6] we have been able to nd examples that can be used to define the lower bounds for the corresponding entries in the tables given in http: //wins.uva.nl/~geer, which to the time of writing this Thesis appear as "no information available". In fact, as the curves found are maximal, these entries no longer need a bound, they can be given by a unique entry, since the exact value of Nq(g) is now known.
At the end of the thesis an outline of the construction of Goppa codes is given and the NXL and XNL codes are presented.

Full textLet A be nonemptu set, and let L = (L; 6) be a lattice with 0 and 1. The mapping A¯ : A ! L is called fuzzy subset of A. It is usual to define fuzzy subgroup on the group. In this work fuzzy semigroups are defined on the semigroup and on the fuzzy subsemigroup, too. As a main result is theorem about partition fuzzy completlu regular semigroup. Also, fuzzy congruences are defined, and fuzzy equolites on fuzzy subalgebras of an algebra and their propertes are investigated. We introduced some new notions: subalgebras of fuzzy subalgebras, fuzzy homomorphism of fuzzy subalgebra, and direct product of fuzzy subalgebras. One of the most important result is extension of Birkhoff’s theorem on fuzzy structures.

Full textIn this thesis we study Shimura subvarieties in the moduli space of complex abelian varieties. These subvarieties arise from families of Galois covers compatible with a fixed group action on the base curve such that the quotient of the base curve by the group is isomorphic to the projective line. We give a criterion for the image of these families under the Prym map to be a special subvariety and, using computer algebra, we build several Shimura subvarieties contained in the Prym loci.

One of the classical problems in real algebraic geometry is whether a given C1 mapping f : X ! Y can be approximated by regular mappings in the space of C1 mappings. In this thesis, we obtain some sufficient conditions in the case when Y is the standard sphere Sn. In the second part of the thesis, we study mainly the kernel of the induced map on homology i : Hk(X,R) ! Hk(XC,R), where i : X ! XC is a nonsingular projective complexification. First, using Lefshcetz Hyperplane Section Theorem we study KHk(X H,R), where H is a hyperplane. In the remaining part, we relate KHk(X,R) to the realization of cohomology classes of XC by harmonic forms.

We study the h-trivial deformations of the standard embedding of the Lie algebra Vect(S1) of smooth vector fields on the circle, into the Lie algebra of functions on the cotangent bundle T∗S1. We classify the deformations of this action that become trivial once restricted to h, where h = aff(1) or sl(2). Necessary and sufficient conditions for integrability of infinitesimal deformations are given

The identification of the multi-vector is done up to some special classes of isometries in the space. Full textThis thesis deals with totally geodesic subvarieties of the moduli space A_g of principally polarized abelian varieties and their relation with the Torelli locus. This is the closure in A_g of the image of the moduli space M_g of smooth, complex algebraic curves of genus g via the Torelli map j: M_g-->A_g. The moduli space A_g is a quotient of the Siegel space, which is a Riemannian symmetric space. An algebraic subvariety of A_g is totally geodesic if it is the image, under the natural projection map, of some totally geodesic submanifold of the Siegel space. Geometric considerations lead to the expectation that j(M_g) should contain very few totally geodesic subvarieties of A_g. This expectation also agrees with the Coleman-Oort conjecture. The differential geometry of symmetric spaces is described through Lie theory. In particular, totally geodesic submanifolds can be characterized via Lie algebras. This motivates the discussion carried out in this thesis, in which we use some Lie-theoretic tools to investigate geometric aspects of the inclusion of j(M_g) in A_g. The main results presented are the following. In Chapter 2, we consider the pull-back of the Lie bracket operation on the tangent space of A_g via the Torelli map, and we characterize it in terms of the geometry of the curve. We use the Bergman kernel form associated with the curve. Also, we link the Bergman kernel form to the second fundamental form of the Torelli map. In Chapter 3, we determine which symmetric space uniformizes each of the known counterexamples to the Coleman-Oort conjecture via the computation of the associated Lie algebra decomposition. These known examples were obtained studying families of Galois coverings of curves. Chapter 4 focuses on these families for their own sake, and we describe a new topological construction of families of G-coverings of the line.

This work aims to develop basic scheme theory and show that two projective, non-singular and birationally equivalent varieties over an algebraically closed field have same geometric genus. A related result allows to check whether a non-singular hipersurface of degree d in a projective space Pn is a non-rational variety.

Full textWe study in this thesis structures extending the classical notion of word. They are built from a partially ordered set (poset) verifying the following properties : — they do not contain 4 distinct elements x, y, z, t whose relative order is exactly x < y, z < y, z < t (posets called N-free) ; — their chains are countable and scattered linear orderings ; — their antichains are finite ; and each element is labeled by a letter of a finite alphabet. Equivalently, the class of posets which we consider is the smallest one built from the empty poset and the singleton, and being closed under sequential and parallel products, and ω product and its backward ordering −ω (series-parallel posets). It is a generalization of both of finite series-parallel labeled posets, by adding infinity, and transfinite words, by weakening the total ordering of the elements to a partial ordering. In computer science, series-parallel posets find their interest in modeling concurrent processes based on fork/join primitives, and transfinite words in the study of recursion. The rational languages of these labeled posets are defined from expressions and equivalent automata introduced by Bedon and Rispal, which generalize thecase of transfinite words (Bruyère and Carton) and the one of finite posets (Lodaya and Weil). In this thesis we study such structures from the logic point of view. In particular, we generalize the Büchi-Elgot-Trakhtenbrot theorem, establishing in the case of finite words the correspondence between the class of rational languages and the one of languages definable in monadic second order logic (MSO). The implemented logic is an extension of MSO by Presburger arithmetic. We focus on some varieties of posets algebras too. We show that the algebra whose universe is the class of transfinite series-parallel posets and whose operations are the sequential and parallel products and the ω and −ω products (resp. powers) is free in the corresponding variety V (resp. V 0). We deduce the freeness of the same algebra without parallel or −ω product. Finally, we showthat the equational theory of V 0 is decidable. These results are, in particular, generalizations of similar results of Bloom and Choffrut on the variety of algebras of words whose length are less than ω!, of Choffrut and Ésik on the variety of algebras of N-free posets whose antichains are finite and whose chains are less than ω! and those of Bloom and Ésik on the variety of algebras of words indexed by countable and scattered linear orderings

Full textIn this PhD thesis, we give a new geometric approach to higher Teichmüller theory. In particular we construct a geometric structure on surfaces, generalizing the complex structure, and we explore its link to Hitchin components. The construction of this structure, called higher complex structure, uses the punctual Hilbert scheme of the plane. Its moduli space admits similar properties to Hitchin’s component. We construct a generalized spectral curve, an (almost) Lagrangian subvariety of the complexified cotangent space of the surface. Given a higher complex structure, we try to canonically deform it to a flat connection. The space of such connections, called “parabolic”, is obtained by imitating the Atiyah–Bott reduction. It is a space of pairs of commuting differential operators. Under some conjecture, we establish a canonical diffeomorphism between our moduli space and Hitchin’s component. Finally, we generalize certain constructions, like the punctual Hilbert scheme and the higher complex structure, to the case of a simple Lie algebra

The cohomology of G-equivariant line bundles over G/B induced by a character of B are important objects in the representation theory of G. In this thesis, we concentrate on G = SL3. In the first chapter,we prove the existence of a two-step filtration of H1(μ) and H2(μ) when μ is in the closure of the Griffith region. In the second chapter, we prove the existence ofa p-Hi-D-filtration of Hi(μ) for all i and μ, which generalizes the p-filtration ofH0(μ) introduced by Jantzen. In the third chapter, we study and determine the structure of the modules appearing in the p-Hi-D-filtration. In the last chapter,we give an explicit and combinatorial description of H2(μ) for μ in the Griffith region and we generalize this description to Hd(G/B, μ) for G = SLd+1 and certain weights μ
