Abstract:
Composition and antioxidant activity of grape seed extract (GSE) obtained from red grape varietes are very well documented, in contrast to the white varietes. This paper presents the results of polyphenols content of ethyl acetate extract of grape seeds, obtained from two white grape varieties, Italian Riesling and Zupljanka, and their antioxidant activity on the stable DPPH radical. The influence of the addition of GSE to raspberry juice on the DPPH radical was also examined. Content of total polyphenols in GSEs ranged between 81.6 and 82.8% (w/w), and the contetn of flavan-3-ols between 66.2 and 91.0% (w/w). HPLC results showed that the most abundant components in the extract were (+)-catechin and (-)-epicatechin for both grape varieties. All tested GSEs exhibited good antioxidant activity. IC50 values for the GSEs of Italian Riesling and Zupljanka were 0.79 and 0.95 mg sample/mg DPPH radical, respectivelly. Since the GSE of Italian Riesling possesed stronger antioxidant activity, it was used for further experiments. The IC50 value for raspberry juice was 4.18 mg raspberry juice/mg DPPH. The raspberry juice with addition of 0.60 ?g/mL of GSE showed antioxidant activity of 39.2%. The same juice with the threefold concentration of vitamin C (1.81 ?g/ml) exhibited similar antioxidant activity (33.9%). Antioxidant activity of the same amount of juice without added antioxidants was lower (15.7%). The results showed that the GSE of white varietes could be considered as a good functional food ingredient.

Abstract:
Abstract Selection Chili powder is one of chili product diversification form that can be a solution to solve the problems when chili production is abundant. This study aimed to test the potential of The Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD’s) chili varieties as chili powder raw material. The research was conducted at IVEGRI from September to December 2020. A completely randomized design was applied with 10 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consisted of 10 registered IAARD’s varieties. The results showed that there were two main components that influenced the diversity between tested varieties, the first main component (powder yield, moisture content, spiciness level, fruit diameter, thickness of fruit skin and weight per fruit) were 62.7% and the second main component (levels of vitamin C and fruit length) were 15.7%. The chili varietes that have the best yield of powder and spiciness were Lembang-1, Kencana, and Pancanaka. Meanwhile, Branang had a goodlevels of flour, spiciness, and vitamin C. By considering the parameters that are closely related to chili powder production, the potential varieties as chili powder raw material are Lembang-1, Kencana, Pancanaka and Branang. Further research is still needed to test the potential chili varieties as other processed.

Abstract:
While determining grape varieties in viticulture, characterization features of shoots, leaves, clusters and fruits are used. These characterization features, in order to form an international method union, with a working team formed on behalf of the "International Board for Plant Genetic Resources" and the "Office International de la Vigne et du Vin-OIV" and "International Board for Plant Genetic Resources". It has been published in a norm called 'Grape Descriptors', developed in collaboration with the international union for the Protection of New Varietes of Plants-UPOV. The ampelographic characteristics of grape varieties are determined according to the characterization features in this norm. Each grape variety has ampelographic characteristics specific to its shoot, leaf, inflorescence and fruit. After these features are determined according to the grape descriptor norm, they are expressed numerically or verbally. In this study, using ampelographic features, Corint, Merlot, Tayfi, Michele palieri, Narince grape varieties were classified using deep learning techniques. The aim is to determine which grape variety it is by using the ampelographic characteristics of grape varieties with deep learning techniques. A new CNN model consisting of 15 layers was created for the study A total of 1028 images of 227×227×3 dimensions of the clusters and fruits of five grape varieties were used in the data set with five classes. 80% of the images are reserved for training and 20% for validation. In the MATLAB program, 96.10% classification success rate was achieved with the new and originally developed CNN model. It was concluded that the CNN model created as a result of the analyzes was successful and could be used in the classification of grape varieties.

Abstract:
Goal. Study of the biological stability of different varieties of black currant against currant bud mite and determination of its number. Methods. The assessment of resistance was carried out in response to signs of damaging bud spherical in shape, resembling a method of histological cut of the bud. Determination of the population of each species of currant mite was conducted on a scale of 9 points in the conditions of the Eexperimental field of Zhytomyr National Agroecological University. Results. As a result of the research, it was found that the Titania variety is more resistant to the renal mite, and therefore, the total population density versus the standard variety is 1.46 units. The investigated varieties of black currant were conventionally divided into stable, medium-stable and unstable. By Medium-resistant include varieties Chernech and Vorskla’s Daughter, the coefficient of their population is from 0.80—0.86 units. Compared with the variat of standard, the Amethyst variety was unstable to the tick, the total coefficient of its population was close to 2.0 units. Comparing the results of histological sections of the buds of each varietie, the number of mites in comparison with the variet of standard was from 720 to 1786 units./ bud. In the course of studies on the biological resistance of different varieties of black currant to cinnamon bud mite, it was found that the varieties studied in the experiment are not persistent. Conclusions. The highest density was detected on an unstable Amethyst variety — 1340 specimens/bud, which exceeds the economic threshold of harm and leads to the need for appropriate protection. Taking into account resistant varieties of black currant against cinnabar bud mite, we have developed a biologized defense system. It contributes to limiting the migration of larvae of travelers in the formation of the fetuses, regulates the size of the population, increases the resistance of plants, and is the most important element of intensive technology of raising berries with a high level of payback and competitiveness.

Abstract:
Interspecific and intraspecific differences in the efficiency of utilization of soil phosphorus (P) are explained, in part, by plant morphological and physiological variations, which characterize the plant for nutrient acquisition. As part of a study on maize genotypes characterization for P-uptake and use efficiency, kinetic parameters of P uptake and root morphological characters were evaluated for six local and improved maize varieties, grown in nutrient solution. The kinetic parameters related to P influx were: maximal transport rate (Vmax), the Michaelis-Menten constant (Km), and the external concentration when net uptake is zero (Cmin). Measured root morphological characters were: root length, radius, and surface area. Shoot and root dry matter yield and the P content in these parts were also determined. Diferences among varieties were observed in the kinetic parameters Vmax and Km, root length and in root/shoot dry matter ratio. Lower Km values were better indicatives of P uptake ability of the varietes and were significantly correlated to higher dry matter production and P-efficiency index.

Abstract:
The presence of polyphenol oxidase enzyme (PFO) in black and white mulberry varieties grown in Iğdır province were determined. In the study, no polyphenol oxidase enzyme was detected in the white mulberry varietie, therefore the study was conducted only with black mulberry varieties. The mulberry samples were collected from Iğdır Center, Melekli and Karakoyunlu districts during June and July, both in 2015 and 2016, when the fruits were fully ripe. Mulberries were stored at -20 °C, and the crude enzyme extract was stabilized with pH 5.0 sodium-acetate buffer containing 1% Polyethylene glycol (PEG). To weigh with a precision scale, 20 grams of frozen mulberries were taken into mortars. After the mulberries were thoroughly crushed in these mortars, 40 ml of crude enzyme extract preparation solution was added to each variety and mixed homogeneously. These mixtures were filtered through a cheesecloth and rotated at 4 °C, 10,000 rpm for 30 minutes. The obtained supernatants were used for enzyme solubilization, and the enzyme activity of the solution was determined spectrophotometrically. The PFO content depended on the genotype. There was a significant difference among the tested mulberry genotypes.
