Résumé Nous développons dans cet article une modélisation vectorielle autorégressive non linéaire pour l’étude des interdépendances entre les marchés boursiers. Parmi les innovations de ce travail, nous introduisons un bris structurel dans la matrice des variances-covariances conditionnelle d’un processus GARCH multivarié. Dans cet ordre d’idée, nous considérons une spécification BEKK de cette matrice augmentée avec des régresseurs de transmission des chocs de volatilité entre les marchés. L’objectif de cette modification est de répondre à plusieurs biais importants dans la mesure des volatilités et des corrélations entre les marchés : d’une part, le biais de surestimation de la persistance des chocs de volatilité; d’autre part, les biais d’hétéroscédasticité et de variables omises dans la mesure des corrélations. Nous considérons ici un échantillon de 11 marchés boursiers d’Europe, d’Amérique du Nord et d’Asie avec des données hebdomadaires des indices les plus larges entre 1985 et 2006. Plusieurs résultats intéressants sont obtenus avec cette modélisation : la réduction de la persistance des chocs de volatilité; l’évidence d’une transmission des prix et des incertitudes du marché américain vers les marchés européens et asiatiques; l’existence de phénomène de transmission régionale en Europe et en Asie; mis à part le krach américain d’octobre 1987, toutes les crises ne sont pas systématiquement contagieuses. Au final, il n’est pas évident que la libéralisation financière isole les marchés des crises financières diverses, bien que l’intégration soit un vecteur d’efficience des marchés. Les crises et le phénomène de contagion en période de crise peuvent être considérés comme des processus de rééquilibrage des marchés qui doivent être encadrés, régulés et supervisés.

RésuméDans cet article, nous proposons une nouvelle technique de réduction de la variance d’une simulation : les bandes de Bollinger. Nous montrons comment le recours aux bandes de Bollinger, une procédure utilisée en analyse technique, peut accroître considérablement la performance d’une simulation de Monte-Carlo en termes de réduction de la variance des simulations. La technique des bandes de Bollinger sert à filtrer les variations extrêmes qui s’observent dans une simulation. Nous appliquons cette technique à la simulation des prix de 38 options sur obligations (OBK) transigées à la Bourse de Montréal, ce en tirant profit du modèle de Fong et Vasicek pour simuler les prix des options. L’erreur quadratique moyenne des simulations se voit réduite considérablement à la suite de l’utilisation des bandes de Bollinger. Le modèle de Fong et Vasicek renforcé par les bandes de Bollinger se compare également très favorablement à celui de Black, Derman et Toy, soit le modèle encore le plus utilisé dans la pratique financière pour évaluer les options sur taux d’intérêt et sur obligations.

This article examines the effectiveness of sport sponsorship at the 2014 F1 Singapore Grand Prix, particularly by testing recall and recognition of brands on cars, driver's clothing and venue. Data was gathered from 120 undergraduate students who were asked to watch a 30-second video first and complete the questionnaires. The multivariate analysis of variance revealed that cars and driver's clothing were found to be more effective locations for brand awareness. There was significant differences in both recall (ΔM = 1.28, p < .05 and ΔM = 0.80, p < .05, respectively) and recognition (ΔM = 2.15, p < .05 and ΔM = 1.47, p < .05, respectively). These findings help present or potential sponsors review the benefits and costs associated with this channel of sponsorship and maximise their sponsorship investments on F1 teams or the Singapore Grand Prix in the future.

The results of factor analysis by SPSS software showed 6 factors identified which influenced male consumer tend buying face treatment in Larissa Aesthetic Center Semarang. First factor was expert doctor and price promotion (variance 29.4%). Second factor was accessability (variance 14.2 %). Third factor was service quality (variance 11.3%). Fourth factor was membership card (variance 6.2%). Fifth factor was quality and parking space (variance 5.4%). And sixth factor was service and consumer testimony (variance 4.9%).

The purpose of the present research is to examine and explain any possible variance in the perception of local Emiratis towards hosting a major and a mega-event in the preevent phase. The Grand Prix Formula One was considered as a major event, which is organized yearly in Abu Dhabi. The EXPO Dubai 2020 was considered as an example of a one-time mega-event. Data of Emirati nationals living in UAE were collected in person in the fall 2016. A self-administered questionnaire was developed that consisted of tourism perception, negative and positive impacts of the events, and individual support for the events. The questionnaire was adjusted to each event and N = 360 were collected for EXPO 2020 Dubai and N = 533 were received for the Grand Prix F1 Abu Dhabi questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and t tests were used to identify differences in participants' perception of the events. Results show that significant differences exist in locals' perspectives towards a major and mega-event, especially in perceptions of positive impacts and individual support. UAE residents have never experienced a mega-event such as EXPO or Olympics organized on their soil, which means they do not know exactly what to expect. The perceived impacts of EXPO might be different after the first experience. Thus, the present research opens more questions, which may be considered for a future research. This work contributes to knowledge base and it confirms a need to specifically and independently approach by size different events.

Abstract Purpose Global sensitivity analysis increasingly replaces manual sensitivity analysis in life cycle assessment (LCA). Variance-based global sensitivity analysis identifies influential uncertain model input parameters by estimating so-called Sobol indices that represent each parameter’s contribution to the variance in model output. However, this technique can potentially be unreliable when analyzing non-normal model outputs, and it does not inform analysts about specific values of the model input or output that may be decision-relevant. We demonstrate three emerging methods that build on variance-based global sensitivity analysis and that can provide new insights on uncertainty in typical LCA applications that present non-normal output distributions, trade-offs between environmental impacts, and interactions between model inputs. Methods To identify influential model inputs, trade-offs, and decision-relevant interactions, we implement techniques for distribution-based global sensitivity analysis (PAWN technique), spectral clustering, and scenario discovery (patient rule induction method: PRIM). We choose these techniques because they are applicable with generic Monte Carlo sampling and common LCA software. We compare these techniques with variance-based Sobol indices, using a previously published LCA case study of geothermal heating networks. We assess eight environmental impacts under uncertainty for three design alternatives, spanning different geothermal production temperatures and heating network configurations. Results In the application case on geothermal heating networks, PAWN distribution-based sensitivity indices generally identify influential model parameters consistently with Sobol indices. However, some discrepancies highlight the potentially misleading interpretation of Sobol indices on the non-normal distributions obtained in our analysis, where variance may not meaningfully describe uncertainty. Spectral clustering highlights groups of model results that present different trade-offs between environmental impacts. Compared to second-order Sobol interaction indices, PRIM then provides more precise information regarding the combinations of input values associated with these different groups of calculated impacts. PAWN indices, spectral clustering, and PRIM have a computational advantage because they yield stable results at relatively small sample sizes (n = 12,000), unlike Sobol indices (n = 100,000 for second-order indices). Conclusions We recommend adding these new techniques to global sensitivity analysis in LCA as they give more precise as well as additional insights on uncertainty regardless of the distribution of the model outputs. PAWN distribution-based global sensitivity analysis provides a computationally efficient assessment of input sensitivities as compared to variance-based global sensitivity analysis. The combination of clustering and scenario discovery enables analysts to precisely identify combinations of input parameters or uncertainties associated with different outcomes of environmental impacts.

Résumé Cet article examine la demande d’information et la valeur de l’information dans un modèle intertemporel en temps continu. Le modèle étudié est un modèle à information incomplète où la technologie d’information est contrôlée par l’investisseur moyennant un coût. Le mécanisme bayésien continu de révision des croyances produit, pour cette structure, une distribution postérieure gaussienne à tout point du temps. Le contrôle de la technologie d’information est équivalent au contrôle de l’estimateur de la position de la variable d’état (espérance conditionnelle) ainsi que de la précision de cet estimateur (variance conditionnelle). La demande d’information, dans notre modèle, se compose de deux termes, qui résultent du conflit entre deux objets d’apprentissage. Sous l’hypothèse d’une offre de précision stochastique et inélastique, le prix d’équilibre de l’information est dérivé et sa structure analysée.

The sample of this study was 78 auditors consisting of 47 men and 31 women. Purposive sampling is used to determine the number of research samples. The location of the auditor's office in the DKI Jakarta Region as a consideration in purposive sampling in determining the number of samples. Data analysis method used is Partial Least Square based on variance with multigroub test. The results revealed the experience of male and female auditors had an impact on the ability to detect fraudulent financial statement presentation. Male and female auditors with similar experience are able to detect fraudulent financial statement presentation. The practical implications of this study are expected to be useful as an input in improving the ability of auditors to detect fraud, as well as a basis for policy makers for authorities to consider the need for experience in improving the ability of auditors to detect fraud. The originality of this study is that the ability of experience in improving fraud detection has been studied in many previous studies, but has not classified research samples by gender and has not distinguished the ability of male and female auditors who are experienced in fraud detection.

L'analyse des coûts par Marshall a souvent été critiquée pour son ambiguïté et son imprécision et, aujourd’hui, on croit généralement que notre Charpente Moderne d’ Analyse Micro-économique des Coûts (CMAMC,) constitue une avancée substantielle par rapport à ses efforts. Mais la CMAMC repose sur les concepts de court terme et de long terme et ainsi ne s’avère capable de traiter que d’un groupe très limité de questions, à savoir les choix d’exécution d’un projet lorsque les variantes technologiques (y compris les différentes tailles d’usine) sont connues (ce que nous appelons choix «de planches à dessin »). La CMAMC s’applique mal aux questions économiques les plus fondamentales et naturelles. On peut citer en exemple, celles qui ont trait au passage du temps chronologique : la distinction entre les augmentations des coûts fixes avec le temps et l’investissement en facteurs fixes (bâtiments et équipements) ; la consommation de capital liée au volume de la production ; et les fonds pour le capital qui ne se consomme ni en fonction du temps, ni en fonction de la production par unité de temps (coûts que nous avons appelés «isochroniques »). Lorsqu’un économiste moderne prend la bonne décision, c’est malgré -plutôt qu’à l’aide de -la CMAMC. Marshall se préoccupait de questions bien plus significatives que celles des choix de planche à dessin, y compris, mais ne se limitant pas à, le coût de s’engager dans des procédés nouveaux, dont l’investissement lié ; la nécessité de vendre à des prix qui ne gâtent pas le marché (au contraire des règles modernes basées sur l’égalité du prix et du coût marginal de court terme) ; et les coûts communs.

The method is focused primarily on signals presented in digital form. The possibility of increasing the frequency resolution in comparison with the method of Fourier transform and wavelet transform is shown.

Repeatability coefficients (r) for tick resistance and Babesia bovis infection levels and the correlation (ρ) between these traits were estimated in beef heifers, using artificial infestations and short intervals between measurements. Forty heifers, including 20 Bos taurus taurus (Caracu) and 20 Bos taurus indicus (Nelore) animals, were submitted to three artificial infestations with Rhipicephalus microplus larvae at intervals of 14 days. The number of standard female was counted from the 19th through the 23rd day after each infestation, considering only the left side of each animal. Blood samples were collected on Days 0, 6, 20, 34 and 48 after the first infestation. The number of copies of B. bovis DNA (CN) was estimated from blood samples through the quantitative PCR technique to evaluate the level of infection in the animals. Total tick count (TTC), the percentage of return (PRij) and CN were analysed using the MIXED procedure of the SAS program. The r of the variables were estimated by intraclass correlation between measures of the same animal, with the variance component of the animal being divided by the phenotypic variance (residual + animal), using models with a CS structure matrix. Additionally, ρ among variables were estimated using the CORR procedure. The following results were obtained for Caracu and Nelore animals, respectively: 1.83 ± 0.37 and 0.63 ± 0.40 for TTC, 1.10 ± 0.23 and 0.47 ± 0.23 for PRij, and 2.29 ± 0.64 and 2.32 ± 0.58 for CN. The r was moderate for TTC (0.62) and PRij (0.53) and low for CN (0.10). The ρ between TTC and CN obtained in the same measurement day was not significant in either breed (P > 0.05; –0.07 for Caracu and 0.19 for Nelore). Results showed both breeds were able to develop resistance against B. bovis; however, Nelore exhibited higher tick resistance. The r obtained for CN and the weak association with tick resistance indicate that it is not possible to recommend the use of CN as a trait to predict tick resistance in these two breeds.

Abstract The aim of the work was preliminary evaluation of predispositions of Polish racehorses to sports. The tests covered 273 horses taking part in CC class and CC1 class competitions in the finals of the big tour. The probability of achieving the best result in the competitions depending on the horse breed was evaluated using multivariate analysis of variance. With the use of Spearman’s rank correlations, the initial correspondence between the horse’s rank in breeders’ ranking and the ranking based on sport results was defined. It was stated that horses starting in Grand Prix competitions represented only 6.85% of all horses registered in the Polish Equestrian Federation. In the group, foreign breeds were predominant. The proportion of native breeds was marginal. The lack of a significant influence of the race on differentiation of sports results of horses proves that the best specimens were chosen within individual races. The preliminary results revealed lack of rank agreement between the evaluation of the breeding value and sports achievements of an individual. This suggests the necessity of performing broader analyses covering different aspects

Mempertimbangkan model Canter Place, parameter lanskap penyembuhan disajikan dalam bentuk tiga dimensi: fungsional, persepsi-semantik, dan fisik-visual. Karena pria dan wanita berperilaku berbeda dalam menghadapi lingkungan mereka, penelitian ini mengevaluasi bagaimana taman Persia dan taman kota berpengaruh (dengan dua pola struktural yang berbeda) di antara pria dan wanita. Metode penelitian adalah kuantitatif, dan data dikumpulkan dengan teknik kuesioner. Kemudian, analisis varian variabel Unianova tunggal dalam perangkat lunak SPSS 23 digunakan untuk mengevaluasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan dalam persepsi dimensi dalam penyembuhan antara pria dan wanita. Pemahaman seorang wanita tentang dimensi penyembuhan persepsi-semantik dan fungsional di Azadi Park berbeda dan kurang dari pria. Di Taman Eram, tidak seperti Taman Azadi, tidak banyak perbedaan antara kegiatan pria atau wanita. Abstract_ Healing Landscapes are spaces that help people to reduce their stress and improve their mental health. In Iranian culture, historic gardens and urban parks (in recent decades) can be useful to create healing landscapes. Considering the Canter Place model, the parameters of landscape healing presented in the form of three dimensions: functional, perceptual-semantic, and physical-visual. Since men and women behave differently in dealing with their surroundings, this research evaluates how Persian gardens and urban parks effect (with two different structural patterns) among men and women. The research method was quantitative, and data gathered by the questionnaire technique. Then, Unianova single-variable analysis of variance test in SPSS 23 software was used to evaluate the data. The results indicated no difference in the perception of the physical-visual dimension of healing between men and women. A woman's understanding of the perceptional-semantic and functional dimension of healing in Azadi Park was different and less than men. In Eram Garden, unlike Azadi Park, there was not much difference between of men or women’s activities. In general, women's feedback is lower than men, on the environment healing parameters of Azadi Park (organic landscape structure). Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention to the gender inclusiveness of urban healing landscapes in design.Keywords: Healing Landscape; Persian Garden; Urban Park; Shiraz Eram Garden; Gender.

Le faible niveau d’apport des engrais minéraux par les producteurs dus son prix exorbitant est l’un des facteurs limitant la production de la pomme de terre. Le compost enrichi de l’urine constitue une alternative pour augmenter le rendement des cultures à faible coût. L’objectif principal de ce travail était d’évaluer l’effet des doses du compost enrichi de l’urine humaine sur le rendement de la pomme de terre (MANDOLA). Les doses du compost enrichi par l’urine humaine utilisées sont : D0=0t/ha (Témoin) ; D1=15t /ha (240g /poquet) ; D2=30t /ha (480g/poquet) ; D3= 45t /ha (720g/poquet). Les résultats de l’observation phénologique ont montré que les différentes doses appliquées ont eu un effet en réduisant le cycle végétatif de la culture D1 (72 jours), D2 et D3 (70 jours) contre D0 (74 jours). Au vu des résultats d’analyse de variance, le rendement total en tubercules la dose D3 (13,07 t /ha) a été meilleure, suivie de D2 (12,76 t/ha) et D1 (11,98 t/ha) ; le plus faible rendement a été obtenu au niveau du témoin D0 (10,16t/ha). Cela dénote que l’apport du compost enrichi de l’urine humaine contribue à l’augmentation du rendement de la pomme terre.

Sport performances judged subjectively often suffer from systematic errors due to biases, with the sport of equestrian dressage being no exception. This study examines whether international dressage judges display systematic errors while evaluating elite horse-rider combinations. Data from seven 5* Grand Prix dressage events between May 2022 and April 2023 were analyzed (510 judges’ scores) using Multivariable Linear Regression Analysis. Five predictor variables—Home, Same Nationality, Compatriot, FEI Ranking and Starting Order—were studied in relation to Total Dressage Score (TS). The model accounted for 44.1% of TS variance; FEI Ranking, Starting Order, Compatriot, Same Nationality, and Home were statistically significant (p < 0.001). Judges exhibited nationalistic and patriotism-by-proxy biases, awarding significantly higher scores to riders from their countries (p < 0.001). FEI Ranking and Starting Order also influenced scores significantly (p < 0.001). These biases, combined, created a cascade effect benefiting a specific group of riders. To address this, measures should be taken to develop a more objective judging system that is based on unequivocal, transparent and evidence-based criteria and supports the continuous development of a fair, sustainable, equine welfare orientated sport that fosters societal acceptance,

Dans une étude expérimentale, nous avons cherchés à déterminer les facteurs susceptibles d’accroitre l’efficacité des messages de prévention. Pour atteindre cet objectif, nous avons interrogés 200 sujets au sein de l’université Felix Houphouët-Boigny d’Abidjan répartis de façon aléatoire dans quatre conditions de l'expérience issues du plan factoriel 2 (cadrage : positif vs négatif) x 2 (vividité du message : vividité faible vs vividité forte). Un test de ki2, une analyse de variance multivariée et un test de régression ont montrés l’efficacité des messages cadrés négativement par rapport aux messages cadrés positivement, ainsi celles de la vividité et du fatalisme sur la pris de décision et l’intention comportement dans l’élaboration d’un message de prévention.Mots clés : message, prévention, cadrage, vividité, fatalisme.

Natūralistiniame visuomenės pažinimo problemų aiškinime socialinio mokslo objektas traktuojamas taip pat kaip ir gamtos pažinimo objektas. Subjektyvumo aspektas ignoruojamas todėl, kad būtų galima pasiekti socialinio pažinimo vertybinio neutralumo ir gryno objektyvumo, t. y. gamtamoksliškumo. Pozityvistinė sociologijos metodologija neadekvati istorijos, kaip interesais bei prasmėmis išreikšto kultūros proceso, prigimčiai. Pozityvistinė sociologija pajėgi tik empiriškai konstatuoti ir aprašyti žmonių visuomenės gyvenimo faktus, bet ji nepajėgi teoriškai rekonstruoti socialinio gyvenimo bendrųjų principų bei dėsningumų. Visuomenės gyvenimo natūralizavimas atveda pozityvizmą prie gnoseologinio aspekto, teoriškai reflektuojant šį gyvenimą, suabsoliutinimo, o tai, savo ruožtu, yra prielaida ne tik idealizuotai socialinio gyvenimo vizijai, bet ir totalitariškoms jo organizavimo nuostatoms atsirasti.

ABSTRACT Aim This in vitro study compared the mineral loss of natural and artificially-created caries-affected dentin in primary and permanent teeth using the same protocol to induce caries lesions. Materials and methods Twenty molars presenting natural occlusal dentin caries lesions (10 primary–PriC and 10 permanent– PermC; control group), and 20 sound molars (10 primary – PripH and 10 permanent–PermpH; experimental group), were selected. Occlusal cavities were prepared in teeth of the experimental group that were submitted to pH-cycling for 14 days to simulate caries-affected dentin. All specimens were longitudinally sectioned and prepared in order to obtain Knoop microhardness values from 15 to 250 ìm depth, starting in bottom of center of natural lesions or cavities. The microhardness (KHN) data were submitted to three-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's tests (α = 0.05). Results Considering all depths, there was no statistically significant differences (p > 0.05) between the mineral loss of the control (PriC = 30.9 ± 6.4 and PermC = 40.8 ± 8.6) and experimental (PripH = 27.3 ± 11.1 and PermpH = 35.5 ± 14.0) groups, neither between primary and permanent teeth. Conclusion The mineral loss of the artificially-created cariesaffected dentin is similar to that from naturally developed dentin caries lesions. Clinical significance The pH-cycling model may be a suitable method to simulate caries-affected dentin in both permanent and primary teeth. Cette méta-analyse porte sur la relation entre concept de soi et performance scolaire. Les résultats statistiques de 38 recherches ayant porté sur cette relation ont été pris en compte. Ces résultats ont été transformés en une métrique commune qu'est le coefficient de corrélation pour rendre compte de l'importance de la relation. 836 coefficients ont été obtenus. Leur valeur s'étend de -.44 à .91, la moyenne est de .18, la médiane de .17, l'écart-type de .19. Diverses variables susceptibles de rendre compte de la variation des corrélations furent entrées en régression (par étapes). Parmi celles-ci, la définition du concept de soi, la façon dont est constitué l'échantillon et diverses caractéristiques des études incluses dans l'analyse (année de publication, année de l'étude, etc.) expliquent chacune un pourcentage non-négligeable de la variance des corrélations : 41 %, 17 %, 11 % respectivement. Ces résultats corroborent en grande partie une méta-analyse antérieure menée par Hansford & Hattie (1982).

Una dintre acestea, constituie obiectul studiului de față. Această fibulă a fost atribuită tipului XII‑9 de Blinkenberg și mai apoi de Muscarella, iar Caner, în studiul său, o atribuie variantei A IV. La piesa noastră, cele trei bare de metal care formează corpul fibulei sunt separate una de alta prin două șănțuiri. Fibula este diferită de altele similare sub diverse aspecte : este diferită de cele de tip anatoliano‑frigian din Anatolia, vestul Anatoliei, Insulele Egeene și Italia, unde erau produse și răspândite. Studiul nostru sugerează că fibula de la Seyitömer Höyük ar trebui definită ca un nou sub‑grup denumit Varianta IV‑3b (după tipologia lui Caner). Mai mult, credem că fibula a reprezentat punctul de plecare pentru anumite catarame care emulau forma fibulelor anatoliano‑frigiene.

Packaging as a modern instrument of marketing communication can influence consumers' purchase behavior and determine their adherence to certain products. The aim of the research is to determine which elements of product packaging are the most significant in the context of consumer purchasing decisions. At the beginning of August 2020, through an electronic survey questionnaire, empirical research that included 99 respondents was conducted, with the aim of examining the significance of packaging elements from the aspect of the consumer who decides on buying chocolate. An analysis of the content of available foreign and national literature, descriptive method, comparative method, and analysis and synthesis technique, were used for the research purposes. Analysis of the collected data was conducted through the statistical software IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0, which was used for descriptive statistics on data on socio-economic characteristics of respondents, and data on the habits and attitudes of respondents about the purchase; and through the SmartPLS 3.0 software, which was used as a graphical approach to structural equation modeling by the partial least squares technique based on variance (PLS-SEM), in order to analyze the respondents' answers regarding the importance of visual and informational (verbal) elements of packaging. The result of the research is the confirmed assumption that, during the purchase decision making, consumer choice is more influenced by visual than informational (verbal) elements of product packaging.

Current semen cryopreservation protocols include the use of animal products, such as egg yolk, in semen extenders, which raises important biosecurity concerns related to the transmission of infectious agents. Therefore, there is a need for alternatives to animal proteins in semen extenders. Cholesterol-cyclodextrin (CC) has been used as an adjunct in semen extenders to facilitate the delivery of exogenous cholesterol into sperm plasma membranes. The purpose of this study was to determine the fertility potential of semen extended with cholesterol of plant origin (PhytoChol, Wilshire Technologies, NJ, USA) in a fixed-time insemination program for beef cows. Semen was collected by electroejaculation from mature Simmentals bulls (n = 4 bulls, 4 replicates/bull) and analysed using computer-assisted semen analysis (CASA). Ejaculates from different bulls with ≥200 × 106 sperm mL−1 and ≥60% total motility were pooled. The pooled ejaculates were distributed into 3 treatments and diluted to 50 × 106 mL−1 in Tris-citric-acid base extenders containing either egg yolk (20% vol/vol egg yolk, control), 0.5 mg of CC per mL of semen, or 1.0 mg of CC per mL of semen. Glycerol (7% vol/vol) was added to each extender. Extended semen was loaded into 0.5-mL straws and frozen to –196°C. Post-thaw sperm motility was analysed using CASA. Ovulation was synchronized among multiparous beef cows using 1 of 3 protocols: (1) 5-day intravaginal progesterone-releasing device (PRID) and prostaglandin F2α PGF2α) treatment on the day of PRID removal (n = 37 on random days of cycle); (2) oestradiol + progesterone treatment and 7-day PRID followed by PGF2α on the day of PRID removal (n = 37 on random days of cycle); or (3) PGF2α alone (n = 19 on Day 7 to 9 from ovulation). Cows were treated with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and assigned randomly to be inseminated with 1 of the 3 semen treatments 72 h after PGF2α treatment. Ovulations were confirmed and pregnancies were diagnosed 28 to 35 days after insemination by ultrasonography. Post-thaw sperm motility was compared among extenders by analysis of variance. Pregnancy rates were compared among groups by generalized linear mixed model. Total motility (52 ± 3%, 59 ± 3%, and 62 ± 7%) and progressive motility (47 ± 3%, 54 ± 3%, and 58 ± 6%) did not differ among the egg yolk, 0.5 mg CC, and 1.0 mg CC extenders, respectively. There were no differences in pregnancy rates among synchronization groups; therefore, data were combined to compare the effects of semen extender. Four cows were excluded due to improper synchronization treatment. Pregnancy rates of cows inseminated with egg yolk (n = 31), 0.5 mg CC (n = 31), and 1.0 mg CC (n = 27) semen were 32, 74, and 52%, respectively (P < 0.05). Fertility in cattle inseminated using semen extended with cholesterol of plant origin has not been previously reported. We conclude that plant cholesterol may be used to replace animal proteins (egg yolk or milk origin) in bovine semen cryopreservation. Objectif : cette étude vise à classer les marques d’eaux conditionnées en Tunisie selon leur teneur en éléments physicochimiques et étudier le comportement du consommateur tunisien vis-à-vis de ces eaux. Méthode : les données analysées proviennent des caractéristiques physicochimiques des 28 marques d’eaux conditionnées et commercialisées en Tunisie durant le premier trimestre de 2021 et d’un questionnaire administré auprès de 238 chefs de ménage durant la même période. Différentes méthodes statistiques ont été utilisées pour les analyses des données collectées telles que la classification hiérarchique ascendante (CAH), l’analyse en composantes principales (ACP), l’analyse de la variance (ANOVA), etc. Résultats : les résultats obtenus ont montré que les 28 marques d’eaux conditionnées peuvent êtres groupés en 7 classes de caractéristiques physicochimiques très proches. La consommation moyenne annuelle d’eau conditionnée qui dépend des catégories socioéconomiques et professionnelles des personnes interrogées a été estimée à environ 345 litres/personne et oscille entre 41 à 720 litres. Les critères considérés par ordre d’importance lors de l’achat sont le goût de l’eau, la composition, le prix, le volume de la bouteille, la date de mise en bouteille, le type d’eau, la réputation de la marque, le lieu d’achat et finalement la forme et l’aspect de la bouteille. Les femmes donnent plus d’importance à la forme et l’aspect de la bouteille que les hommes. La composition de l’eau est plus considérée par les personnes ayant un niveau d’études supérieures que les autres niveaux lors de l’acte d’achat. Originalité / pertinence : ce travail tire son originalité du fait que les résultats obtenus permettent d’éclairer à la fois, le consommateur en lui condensant les informations sur toutes les eaux embouteillées disponibles sur le marché, et les sociétés de production et de commercialisation des ces eaux en leur présentant les préférences, les gouts, les engagements et les attentes de différentes catégories de consommateurs de ce produit devenu stratégique en Tunisie.

Although in the state-of-the-art exists a number of efforts to analyze different factors that influence these collaborations, little attention has been paid in the application of dynamic capabilities (DCs) as an emerging tool to identify strategic elements in public research institutes (PRIs). Aiming to fill this literature gap, in this study, DCs methodology was applied to the Mexican PRI in order to classify the research activities into these strategies. A second stage was carried out to determine the influence of each DC in the global productivity and knowledge integration or transfer. The relationship between the variables was statistically analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The main findings of this study showed that sensing and reconfiguration capabilities have a direct interaction on the global productivity and knowledge integration or transfer of the Mexican PRI, whereas the seizing capabilities present a weak impact on these items. The proper application of the DCs framework, as a substantial instrument for the PRI, opens up an alternative to identify that the main activities should receive special attention during the strategic planning process. These strategies can improve academy–industry collaborations by promoting the process of global knowledge and technology development.

ABSTRACT Objectives To study the radiographic location of the mental foramen and appearance of the inferior alveolar canal and the relationship between image gray values and the clarity of inferior alveolar canal on the digital panoramic images and to evaluate if the histogram equalization of the digital image would improve the visualization of the inferior alveolar canal outline on the digital panoramic images in the mandible. Methods Five hundred digital panoramic images were evaluated by two examiners using a specific inclusion criteria. Only the right side of the mandible was studied. Chi-square analyses were used for comparisons of distributions. Mean and median pixel values were analyzed separately with a one-way analysis of variance. Also, percentages were calculated to report the usefulness of the histogram equalization for visualization of canal. Results Results show variation in location of mental foramen. Most frequent location of the mental foramen was reported as first and second premolar region. Chi-square analysis showed that the frequency of occurrence of the mental foramen was equally probable for any of the three locations. The study did not find significant usefulness of the gray values obtained from the histogram equalization in predicting the clarity of inferior alveolar canal outlines. Clinical significance Knowing the normal relationship and the anatomical variation of the maxillofacial structures for each patient is important for surgical implant treatment planning to avoid future complications. It is also important to be familiar with the advantages and limitations of diagnostic aids available before making treatment planning decisions based on such findings. Sustainable development is defined in environmental, social and economic terms. In the post-socialist countries the sustainability of urban property developments has experienced various destinies amid changing institutional circumstances. Since the regime changes of 1990 the tendency of the land use and real estate economy in Hungary has been an extreme variant of neoliberal, opportunistic and large-scale developments together with project planning. As a result of this, urban regeneration in metropolitan Budapest is almost exclusively based on private investment, with the possible exception of ‘mega-projects’ where government has an interest in securing the provision of infrastructure. In this contribution, first the proposition of flexible and context dependent government intervention in the property development is outlined. After that a description of urban regeneration and other property development in the Budapest region is provided. A brief review of comparable post-socialist cities is also provided. The paper concludes with an evaluation of sustainability and a critical comment on the state of affairs in this context. La technique de comptage par microscopie en épitluorescence est la méthode la plus performante pour dénombrer la totalité des bactéries présentes dans les milieux aquatiques. Cependant cette technique est longue, fastidieuse et subjective. Afin d'automatiser et de rendre objectif le dénombrement, le microscope à épifluorescence est couplé à un analyseur d'images. Si les systèmes d'analyse d'images sont utilisés pour les mesures de taille des bactéries aquatiques, très peu d'études font état de comparaison entre les dénombrements par analyse d'image et ceux réalisés de façon traditionnelle. Cet article présente les résultats des dénombrements de souches bactériennes de référence et de bactéries des milieux aquatiques, par la technique de microscopie en épifluorescence des cellules bactériennes marquées au DAPI, réalisés simultanément par observation microscopique visuelle (visuel) et par analyse d'images automatisée (automatique). Le système d'analyse d'images est composé d'une caméra vidéo (Lhesa LH40036) de sensibilité de 510-4 lux, d'une carte de numérisation (512 x 512 pixels, 8 bits, cyclope v 2.32, Digital vision) d'un micro-ordinateur 80-386 et d'un logiciel de dénombrement (Mudicam®. EAU). Le système est couplé à un microscope en épilluorescence Olympus BH2.Les dénombrements ont été réalisés d'une part sur des suspensions de souches bactériennes de référence (n = 30) à différents états physiologiques et sur des échantillons d'eaux (n = 50) d'origines diverses (fleuve, eaux saumâtre, marine et résiduaire). La comparaison des deux méthodes est réalisée par un modèle de régression linéaire et une analyse de variance. Les tests statistiques associés permettent de conclure à une bonne concordance entre les deux méthodes. A partir de l'ensemble des dénombrements réalisés, 18 d'entre eux pris au hasard ont été dénombrés de façon manuelle par deux opérateurs et par le système d'analyse d'image. Il apparaît que les différences de comptage les plus élevées correspondent aux dénombrements effectués par chacun des deux opérateurs. Ceci met en évidence que non seulement le système d'analyse d'image permet une quantification rapide des abondances bactériennes, mais en outre il supprime la subjectivité de l'opérateur tout en réalisant des dénombrements aussi précis.

La transmission du texte coranique a de longue date suscitée l'intérêt des chercheurs. Elle est effectivement caractérisée par une sorte de dilemme entre l'oral et l'écrit. La position de l'orthodoxie musulmane consiste à affirmer que le texte coranique et ses variantes sont le résultat d'une révélation, transmise conformément à la lettre (lafẓ), par le biais de l'enseignement exclusif du prophète Muḥammad. L'examen de la tradition musulmane fait apparaître que cet enseignement tirerait son origine à la fois de la transmission écrite/manuscrite et d'une transmission orale fondée sur les différents dialectes des tribus arabes. Pour déterminer les qirāʾāt, les savants musulmans eux-mêmes ont eu recours au qiyās (‘analogie’) considéré comme proscrit. L'étude des différents modes de transmission chez Ibn Mujāhid, un des partisans les plus connus de la mise en place de conditions extrêmement « strictes » pour la transmission du Coran, montre que rien ne permet de justifier qu'une transmission intégrale du texte coranique a bien pris place à tous les niveaux de l'isnād. Ainsi, le concept de tradition suivie (sunna muttabaʿa) qui garantit une transmission authentique à travers les générations, est bien postérieur et recouvre probablement une réalité différente dans la transmission du Coran. [The transmission of the Qur'anic text has long attracted the interest of researchers. It is indeed characterised by a sort of tension between oral and written transmission. The position of Muslim orthodoxy is to assert that the Qur'anic text and its variants are the result of a revelation, transmitted according to the letter (lafẓ), through the exclusive teaching of the Prophet Muḥammad. Examination of the Muslim tradition shows that this teaching originated both from written / handwritten transmission and from oral transmission based on the different dialects of the Arab tribes. In order to determine the qirāʾāt, Muslim scholars themselves have resorted to qiyās (‘analogy’). The study of the different modes of transmission in the work of Ibn Mujāhid, one of the best-known supporters of the establishment of extremely ‘strict’ conditions for the transmission of the Qur'an, shows that there is no evidence for a complete transmission of the Qur'anic text that has taken place at all levels of the isnād. Thus, the concept of sunna muttabaʿa (‘followed tradition’), which guarantees genuine transmission through generations, is much later and probably covers a different reality in the transmission of the Qur'an.]

RésuméLa fréquence et l’importance de l’anxiété chez le psychotique contrastent avec la pauvreté de la littérature qui lui est consacrée. Le DSM III même n’en fait pas mention. Aucune des échelles d’anxiété actuellement validées ne peut être utilisée dans cette indication.Nous proposons ici la première échelle d’évaluation de l’anxiété des psychotiques. L'intérêt en est triple, lié: 1) au caractère original du projet ; 2) à la nécessité d’un instrument validé pouvant être utilisé dans les essais thérapeutiques ; 3) aux arguments qu’une telle analyse peut fournir sur les dit férentes modalités d expression, d intensité et de signilicadon structurale de l’anxiété chez le psychotique et de l’intérêt qu il y aurait à la distinguer tant au niveau clinique que thérapeutique.Notre démarche a consisté en un premier temps à déterminer au cours de l'interrogatoire de patients psychotiques les éléments cliniques sous-tendant l’appréciation de l’anxiété. Cette liste de 16 items a été testée chez 45 patients psychotiques et 15 patients névrotiques anxieux. Une analyse factorielle en composantes principales a permis de dégager 4 facteurs expliquant respectivement 32%, 14,7 %, 14% et 7% de la variance. Le premier facteur peut être interprété comme représentatif de la gravité. Le deuxième facteur évalue l’inhibition du patient. Le troisième facteur est interprété comme évaluant la dimension auto-agressive du patient. Le quatrième facteur évalue l'évolution dans le temps de l’anxiété.Cette échelle évalue donc en 4 axes: l'intensité de la symptomatologie, l’inhibition, l’auto-agressivité, l’évolution dans le temps.En l’absence d’échelle validée de référence, la validité est approchée par la corrélation du score total de la PAS à l'évaluation globale de l’anxiété par le clinicien (R = 0,663, P<0,001), par la corrélation du score de chaque item pris séparément à l’évaluation de l’anxiété par le clinicien (P<0,001 pour 4 items et P<0,05 pour 7 items). La PAS est une échelle homogène (P<0,05 pour 15 items). La PAS est corrélée également à la CPRS-S (Modified CPRS for Schizophrenie) mais est mieux corrélée que celle-ci à l’appréciation spécifique de l’anxiété chez le psychotique. Chez les Patients névrotiques, par contre, il n’existe pas de corrélation entre les différents scores de la PAS et l’anxiété du patient appréciée cliniquement.La PAS est la première échelle validée d’évaluation spécifique de l’anxiété chez le psychotique. Des études ultérieures sont envisagées pour préciser la fidélité intercotateurs, la sensibilité au changement et pour spécifier la notion même d’angoisse psychotique.

Moringa oleifera leaf extract (MLE) contains antibacterial properties; this study evaluated the effect of including MLE, breed and storage time on semen quality of boars extended with Beltsville thawing solution (BTS). Semen samples were collected weekly from twelve boars (Four Duroc, four Large White and four Landrace). Samples were extended with 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.00g MLE inclusions. Parameters; volume and concentration were taken immediately after collection while pH, mass activity (%MA), progressive motility (%PM), liveability (%LA) and abnormality (%ABN) were taken at 0, 24, 48 and 72 hours. Data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance. All parameters considered except %ABN were significant (p<0.05). MA ranged between 3.31 (1.00gMLE) and 4.00 (0gMLE). Highest PM was 60.93% in 0.25gMLE, pH differed with 6.98 (0gMLE) and 6.90 (1.00gMLE), 0gMLE (89.64%) had higher LA compared to 0.25gMLE (86.40%), ABN ranged between3.94 to 4.60%. As storage time increased viability of all semen parameters reduced, between 48 and 72 hours parameters reduced below normal limits. Breed effect differed (p<0.05) for MA, Volume and Conc., Duroc (3.78) had higher MA compared to Large White (3.64) and Landrace (3.60). Semen volume (p<0.05) for Landrace (255.20g) was highest while Duroc (170.80g) was lowest. Large white concentration (201.8million spermatozoa/ml) was higher (p<0.05) than Landrace (187.4 million spermatozoa/ml) and Duroc (123.8million spermatozoa/ml). %LA ranged between 88.06% and 88.72% for Duroc and landrace respectively while %ABN was between 3.97-4.41% for Large White and Landrace. This study concluded that 0.75-1.00gMLE could replace synthetic antibiotic in BTS for 24 hours.

The transcriptome associated with the ability of oocytes to support embryogenesis and development remains unclear. The aim of this study was to compare the mRNA expression pattern between oocytes collected from fertile heifers (H) and repeat breeders (RB) using RNAseq. Oocytes were collected by ovum pick-up from Italian Simmental (IS) and Holstein Friesian (HF) heifers that became pregnant at the following oestrus, and from cows of the same breeds classified as RB after they failed to become pregnant for a minimum of 3 consecutive AI. Oocytes from each animal (5 for HF_RB, 3 each for all other groups) were pooled and sequenced using Illumina HiSEqn 2000 (Illumina Inc., San Diego, CA, USA). Principal component analysis showed that HF oocytes clustered away from those of IS, irrespective of the fertility status. However, within breeds, H and RB always clustered apart from each other. This suggests that differences in the transcriptional blueprint between breeds was more prominent than differences related to fertility. However, these were still strong when considering breeds separately, therefore we treated breeds as independent groups and performed differential expression analysis on H v. RB in IS and HF. DESEqn 2 identified 135 differentially expressed genes when we compared H and RB in IS and 2124 in HF. This difference in number of DE genes between the 2 breeds reflects the fact that the variance between H and RB transcriptional patterns in HF is larger than in IS. We looked for genes that were differentially and consistently expressed between H and RB in both breeds and identified 10 genes: histone H2B, exo/endonuclease G, solute carrier family 5 member 9, BH3 interacting domain death agonist, TBK1 binding protein 1, purine-rich element binding protein A, tRNA-yW synthesising protein 1 homologue, Jun oncogene, FRA10AC1 homologue, and SKI oncogene. To validate their potential use as biomarkers, we performed a preliminary in vitro validation by RT-qPCR. As described in the literature, oocytes collected from ovaries with more than 10 follicles of 2 to 6 mm were classified as high quality, while those collected from ovaries with fewer than 10 follicles were classified as low quality (Gandolfi et al. 1997 Theriogenology 48, 1153-1160). Gene expression analysis confirmed SLC5A9, a membrane-bound protein involved in sodium-dependent transport of glucose, as a potential biomarker to discriminate between a competent and incompetent oocyte. Altogether, our data provide a detailed overview of the mRNA pattern defining the differences between a competent and incompetent oocyte in vivo, and identified a new potential marker able to differentiate fertile and infertile oocyte both in vivo and in vitro. This article presents the results of a study aimed at exploring the potential differences in employee behaviour within an organization, focusing on gender differences between men and women. The research employed a quantitative method and applied non-probability techniques in sample selection, involving 88 individuals as research subjects. The study was conducted in the Regional Water Company (PDAM) environment in Makassar City. Data collection utilized primary data obtained from a questionnaire using a cross-sectional approach. The questionnaire results were tested for validity and reliability, and classical assumptions such as normality were examined. The data analysis method employed the Independent Sample T-Test. In analyzing the data, this research evaluated five aspects of employee behaviour: assistance, discipline, tolerance, conflict avoidance, and participation. The t-test results indicated no significant differences in Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) between the compared groups for each measured variable. Assumptions of variance equality for some variables were tested, and the results were considered in the interpretation. These findings suggest that gender does not significantly impact OCB in the PDAM Makassar City employee environment. Although gender was the focus of the study, it was noted that there were no significant differences in employee behaviour at PDAM Makassar City based on gender . Therefore, these findings indicate that in this specific context, gender does not have a significant impact on employee behaviour. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan menerapkan teknik non-probabilitas dalam pemilihan sampel yang melibatkan 88 individu sebagai subjek penelitian. Lokasi studi adalah di lingkungan Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) di Kota Makassar. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Validitas dan reliabilitas kuesioner diuji, dan asumsi klasik seperti normalitas diuji. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Teknik Uji Beda (Indipendent sample T-test). Lima aspek perilaku karyawan dievaluasi, yaitu membantu, disiplin, toleransi, menghindari konflik, dan partisipasi. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan dalam perilaku Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) antara kelompok yang dibandingkan untuk setiap variabel yang diukur. Asumsi kesetaraan varian pada beberapa variabel diuji, dan hasilnya diperhitungkan dalam interpretasi. Dengan demikian, temuan menunjukkan bahwa faktor jenis kelamin tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap perilaku OCB di lingkungan karyawan PDAM Kota Makassar. Meskipun jenis kelamin menjadi fokus penelitian, penelitian ini mencatat bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam perilaku karyawan di PDAM Kota Makassar berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Abstract Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) in children and adolescents accounts for about 20% of cases of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in Brazil. The reasons for the relatively high incidence of APL among children and adolescents in Brazil and other Latin countries remain elusive. Epigenetic constitutional and/or environmental factors might be implicated in the mechanism of APL. The Polycomb group (PcG) genes are critical for differentiation and cell-cycle regulation and maintenance of epigenetic memory of living organisms. Aberrant expression of PcG genes has been observed in human tumors, including AML. In this study, we sought to determine the expression levels of 4 genes from the PcG repressive complexes EZH2, YY1, BMI1 and SUZ12 in acohort of 52 children with AML or APL (male, 32; female, 20; median age 7.8 years, range 4 months-18 years). Cells from healthy children (male, 2; female, 2; median age, 10.7 years, range 6-15 years) were used as the control group. Quantitative determination of mRNA levels was performed using Power SYBR Green PCR Master Mix® (Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA, USA) in a Rotor Gene® thermocycler (QIAGEN). Expression levels were estimated in triplicate, and ß-actin was used as an internal control. All statistical analyses were performed using the GraphPad Prim 5.0 System. Multiple pairwise comparisons were made using a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test; P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Despite showing broad variation among patients and controls, the expression levels of YY1 (controls, 1.16 ±SE 0.73; M1/M2, 0.63±1.07; M4/M5 0.217±0.71; APL, 0.62±3.24; p=0.19); SUZ12 (control, 1.11 ±0.93; M1/M2, 0.12±1.65; APL 2.4±3.42; M4/M5, 0.34 ± 10.30; p=0.18), and BMI1 (control, 0.041 ± 0.77; M1/M2: 0.043 ±0.10; M4/M5, 0.016± 0.23; APL, 0.12 ± 0.59; p=0.37)did not differsignificantly between controls and patients grouped according to the major AML subtypes (M1/M2, 15 cases, median age 10.8 years, range 4-18 years; M4/M5, 21 cases,median 4.5 years, range 5 months-18 years; APL 16 cases, median 9.8 years, range, 1-17 years). However, the EZH2 expression levels (control, 0.0008818±0.03675; M1/M2, 0.001495±0.03296; M4/M5 0.008215±0.09313; APL, 0.07180± 0.3402; p=0.0092) were significantly higher in APL. Among patients with APL, the expression levels of EZH2 did not differ significantly according to age (EZH2 expression, 0.23±0.44, age 0-8 years; 0.05±0.46, age 9-18 years; p=0.112), white blood cell count (EZH2 expression 0.07±0.65, WBC < 10 x 109/L; 0.10±0.38, WBC ≥ 10 x 109/L; p=0.148) or platelet count (EZH2 expression 0.20±0.49, platelet count < 40 x109/L; 0.06 ±0.04, platelet count ≥ 40 x 109/L; p=0.13). Several studies have shown that EZH2 is deregulated in several human cancers. Here we extend this data by informing that EZH2 is highly overexpressed in pediatric APL. APL in children less than 8 years of age tends to be associated with higher EZH2 gene expression levels, suggesting that constitutional epigenetic factors may play a driver role in pediatric APL leukemogenesis. Objective: To assess the main effects of three “Species” of Cucurbitaceae and two “Status” of their seedlings, individually taken, their interactions related to three variables measured on stem, three variables measured on leaf and one variable measured on flower were tested. Methodology and Results: Cucurbita moschata, Cucurbita pepo and Lagenaria siceraria were used as genotypes. They were planted according to a completely random block arrangement. Growth variables were measured on the stem, leaf and flower. The General Linear Model combining the comparison of means according to the Student Newman-Keuls test as well as the Student t or Z test with two samples at the risk threshold of 5% were applied. With regard to the first of the 3 interactions, the variations of the diameter at the collar (DC), diameter of the rod (DT) and length of the rod (LT) were independent of the variations of "Species" and "Status "authorizing the classifications of the variants of the aforementioned factors. For the second of the 3 interactions, the fluctuations in leaf length (LF), blade width (IL) and blade length (LL2) were independent of the simultaneous fluctuations of the species and the Prohibiting Status any classification. Regarding the third interaction, the variations in the number of flowers produced (NFP) were independent of those concomitant with the Species and Status, allowing no classification of the same variants of the above factors. For the first of the 3 interactions mentioned above, concerning the main effects "Species" and "Status", Lagenaria siceraria recorded both the highest diameter at the collar and the longest stem as well as a greater growth of plants seedlings treated with pork manure. This suggests that growth in Cucurbitaceae is genotype dependent. It is also influenced by pork manure. Concerning the same main effects "Species" and "Status", linked to the third interaction, Cucurbita pepo and the seedlings treated with organic manure from pigs expressed the greatest cumulative effective number of flowers (EFFCUM). Conclusion and application of the results: Factors "Species" and "Status" can be studied simultaneously, because they do not interact on the DC, DT, LT and EFFCUM. Lagenaria siceraria believes very well relative to the first 3 variables mentioned above while Cucurbita pepo expresses a high cumulative number of flowers. Three kilograms of pork manure are necessary to allow good growth of the stem and diameter of Largenaria siceraria. The latter should be used for the production of aboveground biomass while Cucurbita pepo should be used for the production of fruit. Ceci suggère que la croissance chez les Cucurbitaceae est genotype dépendant. Elle est aussi influencée par la fumure de porc. Concernant les mêmes effets principaux "Species" et "Status", liés à la 3e interaction, Cucurbita pepo et les plants de semis traités avec la fumure organique de porc ont exprimé le plus grand nombre effectif cumulé de fleurs (EFFCUM). Conclusion et application des résultats : Facteurs "Species" et "Status" peuvent être simultanément étudiés, car ils n’interagissent pas sur le DC, DT, LT ainsi que l’EFFCUM. Lagenaria siceraria croit très bien relativement aux 3 premières variables sus-citées alors que Cucurbita pepo exprime un haut effectif cumulé de fleurs. Trois Kilogrammes de fumure de porc sont nécessaires pour permettre une bonne croissance de la tige et du diamètre de Largenaria siceraria. Ce dernier devrait être utilisé pour la production de la biomasse aérienne alors que Cucurbita pepo devrait l’être pour la production de fruits.

BackgroundEpidemiological data and clinical observations suggest an increased risk of depressive disorders in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with metabolic syndrome (MS) [1, 2].ObjectivesTo study the prevalence of depressive symptoms depending on the presence of MS components in RA patients and to evaluate their combined effect on achieving remission of RA.Methods100 RA patients aged 18 to 69 years old (91% women; mean duration of disease 9 [3.5;15] years; body mass index (BMI) 28.8 [IQR 25.1-32.8]) were examined. MS was confirmed in RA patients with three or more harmonized National Cholesterol Education Program/ Adult Treatment Panel III (NCEP/ATPIII; 2004) criteria. RA patients were assigned a binary MS score (“yes/no”) and a categorical MS score (from 0 to 5 criteria) was calculated. The severity of depression in patients with RA was determined using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI).Results46% of RA patients met the criteria for MS. The presence of three categorical signs of MS was noted in 26%, four - in 16% and of all five signs - in 4% of cases. The combination of elevated fasting glucose, elevated triglycerides (TG), and decreased high-density lipoproteins (HDL) was the most frequent (19.6%; 9/46). The combination of the four MS criteria (increased waist circumference (WC), elevated TG, decreased HDL, and arterial hypertension) occurred in 17.4% (8/46) of cases. RA patients with MS had more severe systemic inflammation (C-reactive protein 9.3[3.9; 23.1] versus 3.35[2.3; 12.0] mg/L, p=0.028), higher levels of TG (p=0.001) and total cholesterol (p=0.003), and higher BMI (p=0.018) and WC (p=0.007).Depression scores of BDI ≥10 were noted in 64 RA patients: 26% were mild, 28% were moderate and 10% were severe. Symptoms of depression were more frequent in RA patients with longer duration (β=0.25, p=0.012) and high activity (β=0.37; p=0.001) of the disease. There were statistically significant differences in the incidence of depression (BDI ≥10 points) depending on the absence or presence of MS in RA patients (Phi-square=0.42; association coefficient φ=0.65). When comparing groups of RA patients stratified by the presence of MS, significant differences in the severity of depressive disorders according to BDI were found (RA without MS: 8,35 ± 5,1 points; RA with MS: 23,6 ± 12,8 points, p < 0,001). In RA patients without MS, only mild (26%) and moderate (9.3%) depression were detected. In RA patients with MS, depressive symptoms from mild to severe were present in almost equal poportions. Two-factor analysis of variance showed no significant effect of BDI and MS on DAS28-ESR activity in RA patients (p>0.05). The presence of MS had a significant effect on BDI depression (p<0.001), and there was no relationship between MS and the degree of disease activity (p=0.33).Re-examination (6-7 months later) of patients with initially moderate RA activity (n=58) revealed that remission of the disease was not achieved in 25% of patients from the group with no signs of depression and MS. In the group of RA patients with MS and BDI ≥10 there were almost 2.5 times more cases of deterioration (63.3%) (χ2 with Yates correction = 4.7, p=0.03).ConclusionProgression of depression against the background of marked metabolic disorders can lead to a decrease of RA patients’ quality of life and complicate disease prognosis [3, 4, 5]. This requires an early multidisciplinary treatment and increased knowledge of the risks associated with depression and MS among health care professionals and patients. The constant increment in the prices of conventional protein feed sources have prompted the search for alternative locally feed resources with minimal competition between man and livestock without any deleterious effect on health of the animal. A 56-day feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of feeding four differently processed roselle seed meals as partial replacement for soybean meal in broiler chicken's diet. One hundred and fifty (150), one day -old (Yammfy, +AA) broiler chicks were randomly allotted to five (5) dietary treatments comprising three replicates and ten chicks per replicate. The experimental diets were formulated with differently processed Roselle Seed Meal [DPRSM] in the diets of broiler chicks at 15% inclusion levels irrespective of the processing methods. The treatments were designated as T1, T2 T3, T4 and T5 as control diet (no roselle seed meal), fermented roselle seed meal (FRSM), boiled roselle seed meal (BRSM), lye roselle seed meal (LRSM) and enzyme roselle seed meal i.e (enzyme + raw roselle seed) (ERSM) respectively. Data obtained were subjected to Analysis of Variance [ANOVA] at 5% level of probability. Feed and water were supplied ad libitum for eight weeks of the experiment. Data were generated for final body weight, total feed intake, daily feed intake (DFI), total weight gain, daily weight gain (DWG), feed conversion ratio and carcass traits. Results of the analysis for growth performance revealed significant (P< 0.05) influence of differently processed roselle seed meal [DPRSM] on final weight gain, total weight gain, daily weight gain, total feed intake, daily feed intake and feed conversion ratio for starter phase. Birds fed control diets and fermented roselle seed meal recorded the higher (P < 0.05) final weight gain, total weight gain and daily weight gain. Also, birds fed control diets recorded the highest total feed intake and daily feed intake which were statistically similar to birds fed fermented roselle seed meal while bird on other processed roselle seed meal recorded the least statistically similar values of TFI% and DFI respectively. Birds fed fermented roselle seed meal recorded the best FCR while birds on boiled roselle seed meal recorded the least value. The result at the finisher phase revealed significant (P< 0.05) effect of processed Roselle seed on DWG and FCR while other growth parameters were not affected (P>0.05) for the treatment imposed. Birds fed control diet and fermented Roselle seed meal had the highest DWG (31.48g and 30.13g). Closely followed were birds fed boiled and lye roselle seed meal (27.94g and 28.78g) while birds fed enzyme roselle seed meal recorded the least value(26.40g). The best FCR was obtained with birds fed control diet, fermented and lye Roselle seed meal. However, the carcass measurements were significantly (p< 0.05) influenced for all the parameters measured except for liver, kidney lungs and shanks. Birds on control diets, fermented and lye processed Roselle seed meal recorded the highest of all these parameters. It was concluded that fermented and lye roselle seed meal at 15% inclusion could be used to partially replace soybean meal in both starter and finisher broiler formulation as it compared favorably with soybean meal for better growth performance and without any detrimental effect on the experimental birds.
L'augmentation constante des prix des sources d'alimentation en protéines conventionnelles a suscité la recherche d'alternatives ressources alimentaires localement avec une concurrence minimale entre l'homme et le bétail sans effet délétère sur la santé de l'animal. Un essai d'alimentation de 56 jours a été effectué pour déterminer l'effet de l'alimentation de quatre repas de graines de roselle traitées différemment comme remplacement partiel du repas de soja dans le régime alimentaire du poulet de poulet. Cent cinquante (150), une journée de poulet-pous poussins de gril à cinq (5) traitements diététiques comprenant trois réplicats et dix poussins par réplication. Les régimes expérimentaux ont été formulés avec un repas de graines de roselle traité différemment [RGRTD] dans les régimes de poussins de poulets à gril à 15% de niveaux d'inclusion indépendamment des méthodes de traitement. Les traitements ont été désignés comme T1, T2 T3, T4 et T5 en tant que régime de contrôle (pas de repas de graines de Roselle), repas de graines de roselle fermentés (RGRF), repas de graines de roselle à la boue (RGRB), Repas de graines de Roselle (RGR) et graines de roselle enzymatique Repas, c'est-à-dire (enzyme + graines de roselle brut) (EGRB) respectivement. Les données obtenues ont été soumises à une analyse de la variance [ANOVA] à 5% de probabilité de probabilité. L'alimentation et l'eau ont été fournies publicitaires de Libitum pendant huit semaines de l'expérience. Les données ont été générées pour le poids final, l'apport alimentaire total, la consommation quotidienne d'alimentation (CQA), le gain de poids total, le gain de poids quotidien (GPQ), le ratio de conversion d'alimentation et les traits de carcasse. Les résultats de l'analyse des performances de la croissance ont révélé une influence significative (p <0,05) de la farine de graines de roselle traitées différemment [FGRTD] sur le gain de poids final, le gain de poids total, le gain de poids quotidien, l'apport alimentaire total, l'apport d'alimentation quotidienne et le rapport de conversion d'alimentation pour le démarreur phase. Doits de contrôle de la Fed des oiseaux et repas de semences de roselle fermentés enregistré le gain de poids supérieur (p <0,05), le gain de poids total et le gain de poids quotidien. En outre, les régimes de contrôle de la Fed des oiseaux ont enregistré l'admission totale totale d'alimentation et une prise d'alimentation quotidienne statistiquement similaire à celle des oiseaux nourris à la farine de graines de roselle fermentée tandis que l'oiseau sur un autre repas de graines de roselle transformé a enregistré respectivement les mêmes valeurs statistiquement similaires de TFI% et de DFI. Oiseaux Feed Fermenté RoselleSeed Repas enregistré le meilleur FCR tandis que les oiseaux sur la farine de graines de roselle bouillie ont enregistré la moindre valeur. Le résultat de la phase de finition a révélé un effet significatif (P <0,05) des graines de roselle transformées sur DWG et FCR, tandis que d'autres paramètres de croissance n'ont pas été affectés (p> 0,05) pour le traitement imposé. Un régime de contrôle de la commande des oiseaux et un repas de semences de roselle fermenté présentait le plus haut dwg (31,48 g et 30.13g). Suivi étroitement des oiseaux nourris à la farine de graines de la chaurée et de la lyeRoselle (27,94 g et 28,78 g) tandis que les oiseaux nourris à l'enzyme de graines de roselle ont enregistré la moindre valeur (26.40g). Le meilleur FCR a été obtenu avec un régime alimentaire de contrôle des oiseaux, fermenté et lyeRoselle Graine. Cependant, les mesures de la carcasse étaient significativement (p <0,05) influencées pour tous les paramètres mesurés à l'exception du foie, des poumons de reins et des tiges. Oiseaux sur les régimes de contrôle, fermenté et lonité Roselle Roselle Repas ont enregistré le plus haut de tous ces paramètres. Il a été conclu que le repas de graines de la Roselle fermenté et la lye à 15% d'inclusion pourrait être utilisé pour remplacer partiellement la farine de soja dans la formulation de chalameurs de démarrage et de finition, car elle comparée favorablement au farine de soja pour une meilleure performance de croissance et sans effet néfaste sur les oiseaux expérimentaux.

En 1972, le projet de recherche « Ethnographie de la Côte-Nord du Saint-Laurent» place à l'intérieur de sa problématique générale un volet intitulé: l'ethnohistoire. Soucieuse de ne pas limiter les résultats de ses recherches à des moules d'analyse déjà établis et intéressée à illustrer constamment la conceptualisation des gens de la Moyenne-Côte-Nord, l'équipe de recherche perçoit comme complémentaire l'analyse de la science populaire utilisée par les témoins qui vivent les mêmes faits qu'elle étudie sous un angle expérimental. L'ethnohistoire de la Moyenne-Côte-Nord représente une facette de cette complémentarité. Afin de bien situer cette intention, une mise en place des principales tendances en cours en ethnohistoire s'avère utile. Auparavant, deux remarques importantes se posent au point de départ puisqu'elles clarifient les prémisses de l'ethnohistoire. 1. L'utilisation de l'histoire par l'anthropologie suscite beaucoup de discussions et cela depuis les origines de l'anthropologie. L'ethnohistoire ne se greffe pas à cette problématique. L'ethnohistoire ne représente pas le champ privilégié où l'utilisation et la perception de l'histoire que les anthropologues ont mis de l'avant à travers les différents courants anthropologiques se manifestent. 2. Ce premier point tient surtout au fait que l'ethnohistoire se conçoit comme un ensemble de méthodes, de techniques. Elle ne s'étiquette pas comme une discipline. L'ethnohistoire s'intègre aux différents courants théoriques en anthropologie et s'utilise selon les questions théoriques jugées importantes par les différentes écoles. Il n'y a pas de théories ethnohistoriques indépendantes des autres théories anthropologiques. Toute discussion au sujet de la relation histoire-anthropologie se situe au niveau théorique et non méthodologique; l'ethnohistoire ne peut fournir d'éléments pertinents. Trois tendances se concrétisent et fournissent des résultats différents, selon l'appartenance théorique aux écoles anthropologiques. L'histoire spécifique, l'ethnographie historique (ethnohistory) et l'ethnohistoire (folk history) constituent présentement ces trois options. L'histoire spécifique. Cette tendance se préoccupe surtout de situer des traits culturels spécifiques à l'intérieur d'un contexte. Tout en utilisant et recherchant des dates, des lieux et des événements précis, les chercheurs essaient ici de mettre en relief un modèle de diffusion et de transformation d'un trait culturel particulier. L'étude des variantes des mythes et dçs légendes par Franz Boas et Edward Sapir chez les Amérindiens de la Côte-Nord-Ouest du Pacifique constitue un exemple de cette tendance. L'utilisation des données archéologiques, linguistiques, physiques et des études de diffusion culturelle reflète bien la préoccupation du courant diffusionniste en anthropologie. Souvent retrouvée sous l'appellation ethnohistoire (ethnohistory), cette tendance s'identifie aux anthropologues américains (Fenton, Ewers, De Laguna, Lurie, etc.) qui reconstruisent historiquement des cultures amérindiennes à l'aide des archives, des traditions orales et des données recueillies sur le terrain. La recherche se traduit par l'application de la perspective historique aux sociétés qui ne sont pas incluses dans l'histoire occidentale. De par leur formation, ces chercheurs veulent comprendre, expliquer des phénomènes culturels. L'historiographie d'une ethnie ne répond pas à cette demande. Le choix des données historiques doit s'effectuer en fonction des questions théoriques en anthropologie. Ainsi la mise en relation des travaux de terrain avec les sources historiques dans un cadre théorique peut produire des éléments importants pour la construction d'un modèle explicatif du changement. Cette orientation a pris forme, vers 1950, au contact des études plus générales d'acculturation et de relations interethniques, des systèmes politiques et économiques. L'ethnographie historique repose sur des fondements plus théoriques et généralisants afin de permettre une comparaison entre différents groupes étudiés. Sous cet angle, elle se présente comme une méthode intégrée à d'autres pour répondre aux questions théoriques soulevées en anthropologie. Cette approche exige une nomenclature conceptuelle qui favorise un niveau de généralisation formelle. Une de ses premières fonctions se concrétise par l'élaboration d'un inventaire du matériel existant et par l'orientation subséquente de l'emploi et de la fabrication des autres méthodes. Lorsque la synthèse des différentes données est effectuée, des patterns d'incorporation des groupes ethniques à leur environnement, de changements économiques et politiques, d'acculturation, etc., en ressortent. En somme, l'ethnographie historique se présente comme l'application de la méthode historique et l'utilisation des concepts anthropologiques pour découvrir des pattems d'organisation humaine. L'ethnohistoire (folk history). Le domaine des réflexions et des constructions historiques en cours dans une communauté devient le pôle d'attraction de cette optique. La véracité des faits, la cohérence des événements, les modèles de changement, etc., ne sont pas ici pertinents. C'est plutôt le système logique permettant de réfléchir et de conceptualiser les événements et les comportements qui attire l'attention du chercheur. L'articulation de la recherche s'effectue autour de ce que les gens pensent de leur passé. Vers les années '60, le mot « ethno » se couvre d'une nouvelle signification, à savoir: découvrir comment s'établit le processus de la connaissance chez un peuple. Auparavant, le préfixe « ethno » ne possédait qu'une connotation identificatrice sans pour autant spécifier les bases de l'identité du peuple en question. Théoriquement, chez les culturalistes, la culture ne se conçoit plus comme l'ensemble des comportements humains, l'idéologie, l'histoire, les institutions, les produits matériels, etc., mais bien plus comme le tout de la connaissance humaine.2 Les analyses portent sur la «grammaire de la culture» et par conséquent ne précisent pas les comportements actuels et futurs des individus. Méthodologiquement, les techniques et les propositions théoriques se construisent sous la forme d'une recherche « emic », c'est-à-dire une approche valide que pour une communauté. L'ethnographie historique travaille à la reconstruction historique dans le sens et le découpage qui convient aux critères occidentaux. Elle utilise les archives et les résultats des autres disciplines connexes afin d'écrire une histoire universelle basée sur des découpages préalablement établis. Par contre, l'ethnohistoire démontre la version, la signification et l'explication historique fournies par une communauté. Précisément, elle met en relief les principes régissant la sélection et l'ordre des événements retenus comme significatifs pour une culture. Cette limitation à une seule culture amène pour l'instant le rejet d'une histoire universelle. Dans les sociétés non euro-américaines, les mythes, les légendes, les contes constituent le champ d'investigation privilégié pour l'ethnohistoire.

The restaurant industry has historically been limited in its ability to adopt traditional revenue management pricing practices (e.g., variable pricing across tables and times) because of three specific challenges: (a) inability to segment customers by willingness to pay prior to seating, (b) limited ability to price discriminate (i.e., prioritize limited seating for the highest paying customers), and (c) inability to communicate menu price variances in advance. This article reviews common restaurant pricing strategies and discusses how each strategy cannot sufficiently address these three challenges. This work proposes a new strategy, the Priority Mixed Bundle ( PMB) Strategy, which addresses all three of these challenges. The PMB states that customers can make reservations if they are willing to commit to dining from a prix-fixe menu while walk-ins can dine a la carte. The article argues for why PMB is theoretically viable and could be superior to existing menu pricing strategies. A field study shows that the PMB generates more revenue than a la carte strategies. Survey results suggest that customers perceive PMB as fair. Overall, this research advances theory in restaurant revenue management and proposes a pricing strategy for restaurants.
