Abstract:
The internalization of Pancasila is carried out from an early age. This is related to the problems in the community of the fading of the noble values of the Indonesian state's guidelines for life. The final goal of this study was to find the methods used by Teachers in instilling Pancasila values in early childhood in kindergarten. Qualitative research methods are used to achieve this goal by making kindergarten teachers as informants determined through purposive techniques and Snowball sampling. Data was collected by placing researchers as the primary "tool" supported by interviewing, observation, and documentation techniques. The netted data was analyzed with miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis techniques. The results concluded that kindergarten teachers' level of knowledge and understanding about the types of learning methods in early childhood is quite good. Methods of planting Pancasila values used in some kindergartens in West Gunungsitoli Subdistrict include playing, telling stories, singing, conversing, demonstrations, role-playing, habituation methods, and tourism.

Abstract:
AbstractPublic agencies at all levels of government and other organizations that manage archaeological resources often face the problem of many undertakings that collectively impact large numbers of individually significant archaeological resources. Such situations arise when an agency is managing a large area, such as a national forest, land management district, park unit, wildlife refuge, or military installation. These situations also may arise in regard to large-scale development projects, such as energy developments, highways, reservoirs, transmission lines, and other major infrastructure projects that cover substantial areas. Over time, the accumulation of impacts from small-scale projects to individual archaeological resources may degrade landscape or regional-scale cultural phenomena. Typically, these impacts are mitigated at the site level without regard to how the impacts to individual resources affect the broader population of resources. Actions to mitigate impacts rarely are designed to do more than avoid resources or ensure some level of data recovery at single sites. Such mitigation activities are incapable of addressing research question at a landscape or regional scale.

Abstract:
Purpose The relationship between research and teaching – sometimes referred to as the research–teaching nexus – is an important issue in education literature. However, although it is acknowledged that this question is specific to each discipline, it is rarely addressed in the management accounting (MA) literature. Outside MA, the literature focuses on the influence of research on teaching but rarely touches on the influence of teaching on research. This paper has two aims: to enhance the understanding of the research–teaching link in MA and to analyse the link from teaching into research. Design/methodology/approach The paper is based on a reflexive analysis of a case in which the content of a management control course progressively changed over a period of 15 years. The authors structure their description of the case using Dewey’s concept of inquiry. Findings This paper first shows that designing the content of this course was a form of research and it produced knowledge. This analysis also suggests that the influence of research on teaching can take other forms than introducing research results or methods into teaching; designing teaching content is nurtured by not only scientific considerations but also pedagogical considerations and lecturers’ values; and linking research and teaching raises different issues dependent on the stance adopted by MA scholars in their research. Research limitations/implications The academic community should seriously consider that knowledge can be produced in a teaching context, through the design of a teaching content. Originality/value This paper contributes to an inquiry process by documenting how course content is actually designed, which has not yet been done in the MA literature.

Abstract:
The main target of cooperative banks is not to maximize profits but to jointly manage a business. With this in mind, assuming a stakeholder-oriented behavior of cooperative banks, we address whether cooperative banks consider multiple stakeholder values and take a sustainable governance approach. We conduct a content analysis of the annual reports of German cooperative banks, with reference to two research questions: Are the basic principles and values of cooperatives optimally realized and communicated to external stakeholders? Can cooperative banks comply with the requirements of the triple bottom line, namely the economic, environmental and social responsibility? We find that cooperative banks do not effectively communicate their cooperative values and thus inadequately manage to demonstrate the implementation of their core values. Yet cooperative banks avail of a sustainable business model that offers the potential of sustainable business conduct.

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze curriculum management and learning development based on multicultural values at MTsN 15 Boyolali as an effort to improve and develop the institution. This research uses field research with qualitative case studies at MTsN 15 Boyolali. The data collection method used in-depth interviews and documentation with research subjects namely the Principal, Deputy Head of Curriculum, and several teachers at MTsN 15 Boyolali. Data analysis was carried out using a flow model, namely data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The results showed that curriculum management and learning development based on multicultural values at MTs N 15 Boyolali had been implemented by taking into account three main components, namely: 1) planning, 2) implementation, and 3) evaluation/supervision. although there are still things that need to be addressed and implemented, such as teachers who lack innovation and the literacy power of teachers about multiculturalism is still weak. So that it requires cooperation from all parties through curriculum management, both from foundations, school principals, teachers, and other parties involved. All of this also needs to be supported by proper education.

C Cruz, Juan, and Justin Blaney. "How Does Organizational Culture Influence the Adoption of Research Evidence by Management Practitioners?" Muma Business Review 5 (2021): 071–83. http://dx.doi.org/10.28945/4834.

Full text
Abstract:
Using the best available evidence from multiple sources can lead to more effective management practice. However, management practitioners often make decisions based on limited evidence, mostly from personal experience and judgment. Values, beliefs, and practices may conflict with a manager’s ability to use research evidence in practice. This systematic review suggests that an integration of the diffusion of innovations (Rogers, 1995) and planned behavior (Ajzen, 1991) theories may be used to explain the influence of values, beliefs, and practices on the adoption of research evidence by management practitioners. These cultural influence factors may be conceptualized as moderating the effects of innovation diffusion efforts on research evidence adoption behavior. Viewing evidence-based management (EBMgt) as an innovation, organizational managers may employ innovation diffusion strategies to influence values, beliefs, and practices conducive to using research evidence in management practice. This review presents recommendations for both practitioners and scholars to facilitate EBMgt. Practitioners can promote a culture that enables evidence-based practice, use tact when presenting evidence to a skeptical audience, and form partnerships with scholars. Leaders can promote the use of evidence in their organizations, provide evidence-based practice tools and training, and use human resource practices to ensure key positions are proficient in research skills. Scholars can publish more practitioner-friendly evidence and teach business and management students research skills.

Abstract:
Possible gender differences in the workplace are always a hot topic because they might explain why men continue to dominate in the jobs arena, despite the significant headway being made by women. Recent data indicate that males and females have somewhat differing priorities in their jobs but share basic ideas of what they think is important. Some research has shown that a supposed values gap between male and female workers does not explain away why men continue to enjoy greater career advancement than women. Social scientists have also theorized that work environments can embody both "male" and "female" characteristics, which may impact job satisfaction. Taking steps to better understand worker’s values can bring about important advantage in developing workable and well-supported policies. Understanding what men and women value in a job is important to designing effective approaches to human resource management and in skill development initiatives.

Abstract:
Individuals’ values in the context of NPM-based reforms are a central theme in studies of public professional organizations. While organization studies mainly focus on “professional” values, research on public administration primarily addresses the issue of “public” values. This article brings these two research streams together in order to investigate the relationship between two sets of individual values—commitment to performance-based management and normative publicness—in the context of French public universities. It draws on a quantitative survey of academics involved in university governance. The study demonstrates that a positive attitude towards performance-based management is negatively correlated with commitment to university publicness; furthermore, it delineates different groups within the academic profession—according to professional status, managerial position within the organization, and the department’s reputation and ability to generate revenues—which have differing attitudes regarding performance-based management and university publicness.

This article reviews the development of interest in and concern for training and education of sport specialists. A review of research in competency-based education that relates to sport management and related fields provides an overview of the values of learning about specific job tasks of a sport manager. Competencies in sport management presented from a study of educational, municipal, and military settings show no significant difference between settings and certain significant differences in professional level. Further research is presented that shows differences in how educators and practitioners rate the importance of competencies in the field. Implications for practice suggest that more research is needed in order to gain further understanding of leadership requirements in the sport management profession.

Abstract:
This study aims to identify and know the madrasa management model in Langkat District based on Islamic Spiritual Entrepreneurship. This model will be used as a madrasah management strategy in Langkat District for the continuation of madrasas in the future. This research is descriptive quantitative and explanatory research. The research instrument used was a questionnaire that was accompanied by a brief interview to the research respondents. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Then the data is processed using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis techniques using AMOS. The study population is all employees implementing or managing madrasa management in Langkat District with a sample of 300 respondents selected according to the SEM analysis standard chosen by accidental sampling technique. The results showed that the management of madrasa based on Islamic values (combined with the values of professionalism) was considered capable of supporting madrasah management and sustainability in the future. There are several factors that support the management of madrasa based on Islamic values, its known honest behavior as the most important factor, the concept of worship to Allah SWT, blessing factor from Allah SWT. But Islamic values (siddiq, amanah, tabligh and fathanah), thankful behavior do not have a significant effect because the measurement is difficult to objectively carry out because it is related to the individual character of a nature that not everyone can or does not want to be measured directly and openly. Therefore it is necessary to have character education, the existence of spirituality education for management managers and optimal management supervision.

Abstract:
506 Background: As a result of updates to pancreatic cancer treatment guidelines, oncologists face a host of escalating treatment challenges that may hinder their abilities to select the most appropriate regimen for patients. A study was conducted to determine if simulation-based educational interventions could improve decisions of oncologists in the management of pancreatic cancer. Methods: A cohort of US-practicing oncologists who participated in a virtual patient simulation (VPS)-based education initiative was evaluated. The VPS consisted of 2 cases presented on a platform that allowed oncologists to assess each patient and make decisions limited only by an extensive database of treatment possibilities matching the scope and depth of actual practice. Clinical decisions made by participants were analyzed using a decision engine, and instantaneous clinical guidance (CG) employing current evidence-based and expert faculty recommendations was provided immediately after each decision. Oncologists were allowed a second chance at each decision point; decisions before and after CG were compared using a 2-tailed paired T-test. P values are shown as a measure of significance; P values < .05 are statistically significant. Results: 410 oncologists made clinical decisions within the VPS. Significant improvements were observed in: Selecting the most appropriate first-line regimen in a patient with a PS of 2 (29%, P< 0.001); Ordering an anti-emetic in patients who are receiving chemotherapy (24% , P< 0.001); Evidence-based treatment selection for individuals whose disease progressed on therapy (17%, P= .003); and Ordering adverse event education and counseling (11% and 16%, P= .001). In addition, this study revealed that up to 55% of oncologists would test patients for BRCA mutations while 52% would consider enrolling a patient in a clinical trial if they have progressed on therapy. Conclusions: This study showed improvements in evidence-based practices of oncologists in the management of advanced pancreatic cancer across the continuum of care, thus demonstrating that VPS-based instruction can result in an increase in evidence-based clinical decisions. Therefore, VPS may have a role in improving the quality of care and patient outcomes.

Abstract:
System of knowledge management stability under the conditions of dynamic changes of social medium objectively depends on the so-called “code of values” or “culture”. Goals of the system functioning, priorities of development, criteria of quality and effectiveness of activities in achieving these objectives depend on the prevailing paradigm in realizing tasks facing the object. The ever-growing stream of information makes the process of taking decisions more and more complicated. Modern research library is a very important structural element of the knowledge society because, on the one hand, it provides free access to information, achievements of science and arts, on the other hand – actively takes part in developing informational and communicational infrastructure as well as science and education. However, to be a direct productive force information has to transform into knowledge. This problem becomes more urgent in the context of the global paradigm – the economy based on knowledge. In this connection on the new stage of social evolution significance of social institutions, including libraries, engaged in producing, storing, processing and disseminating knowledge for their subsequent practical application is growing. The aim of this article is to give a brief review of publications, devoted to building up the system of knowledge management and the place of library in it. Methods, used in the research are: content analyses and generalization of native and foreign publications on the above mentioned problem.

Katili AS, Utina R, Tamu Y, Nusantari E. 2018. Management of coastal biodiversity based on social-cultural values in constructing conservation character education. Biodiversitas 19: 1763-1768. Coastal biodiversity is quite high including coral reef, mangrove, seagrass, and fishery resources. Management of coastal biodiversity can be conducted interdisciplinary covering various aspects. Four main aspects can be integrated, i.e., physical-biodiversity, social-cultural, character education, and conservation. This present study aimed to describe: coastal biodiversity in Gorontalo Province, Indonesia community’s social-cultural value and local wisdom embodying conservation character of the coastal ecosystem, and character education of coastal ecosystem biodiversity in primary school by learning with a prototype of conservation character-based materials. Specifically, the present study aimed to construct the conservation character education based on social-cultural values. Data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative method by comparing and referring to findings from the previous studies. The procedure used in this research was four-D, i.e., (i) Define stage; by doing the identification and exploration of the coastal biodiversity potential. The methods used in this stage was exploration survey method. Focused group discussions were conducted with coastal communities to identify social-cultural values and local wisdom and to analyze the core and basic competence of learners by examining the tools of the lesson and determining the competence. (ii) Design stage; by designing a prototype of learning material to construct the conservation character for learners. (iii) Development stage; by validating the prototype of learning material for constructing the conservation character for the learner. (iv) Dissemination stage, by doing seminars and information dissemination on a prototype of learning material to construct the conservation character. The results showed that in Gorontalo, there were three components of the coastal ecosystem which included mangrove, seagrass, and coral reef. The communities in the coastal area of Gorontalo were prominent in their strengthened social-cultural roots taking the form of ecological awareness. The community in coastal area possessed local knowledge of the natural resources, e.g., plants and animals, and local attribution of such resources in the local language. The conservation character-education based on social-cultural values, specifically local wisdom, is the most appropriate education model to encourage the pattern of biodiversity coastal ecosystem management. Conservation character education was highly relevant to life-enhancing skills, based on the empowerment of skills and coastal biodiversity potential in each region.

Abstract:
The enactment of theoretical contribution in research articles (RAs) is a critical academic writing practice for showcasing the scientific progress of a disciplinary field. To decide how novel research strengthens a discipline’s current state of knowledge necessitates evaluating the new empirical results based upon its specific academic norms. Yet the academic values utilized to formulate theoretical advancement have been little studied in the literature. Drawing upon pertinent evaluation frameworks, the purpose of this study is to uncover how RA authors negotiate the theoretical value of novel research by conducting a rhetorical analysis of 60 research article discussion sections taken from four prestigious management journals. The present investigation reveals a tentative taxonomy of six rhetorical appeal types deployed by RA authors to articulate the value of novel research in the knowledge market. The widespread use of these appeals in management research article discussion sections indicates that a strong promotional orientation is prevalent in the rhetoric of the journals examined. The findings of this research have theoretical and pedagogical implications for academic evaluation and promotion, as well as for teaching academic writing

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to uncover the main agent behavioral problem caused by asymmetric information. The focus of this research is on identifying and answering behavioral issues that occur between principals and agents in the village fund management institutions. The methodology design uses an interpretive paradigm approach by applying a principals-agent theory based on information, that is, tracing the relationship of informant behavior in symbolic interactions that are interpreted by the cultural values of Sumbawa. Qualitative research and indepth interviews were conducted with several competent speakers on village fund management institutions and Sumbawa cultural experts. The research shows that there is asymmetric information about the use of village resources by agents who make themselves opportunistic and weaken the trust of the principals (village community) in him. The solution to the problem is a sabalong desa behavioral approach (improvement of the village) in the sense of mutual value and mutual trust in the value system of congratulations (towards security) and the value of justice and balance in the sabalong Samalewa value system uses relationships between village communities and village leaders institutionally. The conclusion of the study is that asymmetric information makes the agent behavior opportunistic and weakens the confidence of the principalss, through mutual value (mutual trust) and mutual worth (mutual respect), in the value system of the salamat (towards safety) and value be overcome by justice and the value of balance of values sabalong samalewa (balanced and harmonious) to strengthen the institutional management of village funds.

Abstract:
The aim of the paper focuses on generating insights into the competitiveness of public transport in Moscow City in relation to the use of personal cars, considering individual basic consumer values and environmental factors, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research question in this study is: how can we assess the main indicators of public transport’s competitiveness, which can motivate personal car owners with specific basic values to change the transportation mode for personal mobility? This conceptual research model combines the content analysis of publications and large-scale online survey of Moscow City’s car owners—potential consumers of public transport services—on a representative quota sample of 1263 respondents. The methodology includes the axiological approach for the identification of the main factors of consumer behavior of personal car owners in the city with combinations of the modified Schwartz’s methodology of the basic individual values evaluations. Secondary data manifested the changes in the behavior of car owners due to the fact that they value metropolitan environmental degradation and changed their transportation preferences to public transport even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the factor and cluster analysis of the value profile of the individuals, seven clusters of car owners were identified, and two large clusters were selected as target segments for public transport services. The conclusion was made that it is necessary to differentiate social and marketing programs to promote the competitiveness of public transport in the minds of consumers.

Predictive values of the disease status based on test results are also of interest in medical research and public health management. In this paper, we study the relations among sensitivity, specificity and predictive values of the test. The core concept is risk function, which is assumed to be an increasing function of the biomarker. Our results show that test sensitivity and specificity change in opposite directions. The positive predictive value and the sensitivity also change in opposite directions. Likewise, the negative predictive value and the specificity change in opposite directions.

Abstract:
All enterprise components and business activities are centered on the customer. Whether human resource management is reasonable and effective not only is a matter of human resource management, but also directly influences whether other resources can be used reasonably and effectively, and determines the efficiency of business operations. In human resource management, perfect performance evaluation criteria are developed based on the actual situation in order to evaluate employee productivity and work ethic. Nonetheless, in the process of actual enterprise HR management performance evaluation work, there are not only imperfect performance evaluation standards, but also relatively objective evaluation standards, and HR cannot conduct a comprehensive analysis of each position, which has a negative impact on the quality of enterprise HR management work. This paper improves the performance evaluation model for the original data mining and proposes a human resource management performance evaluation method based on chaotic optimization algorithm, which generates the initial values of evaluation data through chaotic logistic mapping, bringing the initial data closer to the optimal value, reducing the impact of random initialization on the algorithm’s performance, and when the model is trained, it can make the algorithm’s performance more stable. Capability thereby addresses the flaws in the original evaluation method. Experiments demonstrate that our method significantly improves the precision of model training and prediction.

Abstract:
Purpose Hospital manager decisions can have a significant impact on service effectiveness and hospital success, so using an evidence-based approach can improve hospital management. The purpose of this paper is to identify evidence-based management (EBMgt) components and challenges. Consequently, the authors provide an improving evidence-based decision-making framework. Design/methodology/approach A total of 45 semi-structured interviews were conducted in 2016. The authors also established three focus group discussions with health service managers. Data analysis followed deductive qualitative analysis guidelines. Findings Four basic themes emerged from the interviews, including EBMgt evidence sources (including sub-themes: scientific and research evidence, facts and information, political-social development plans, managers’ professional expertise and ethical-moral evidence); predictors (sub-themes: stakeholder values and expectations, functional behavior, knowledge, key competencies and skill, evidence sources, evidence levels, uses and benefits and government programs); EBMgt barriers (sub-themes: managers’ personal characteristics, decision-making environment, training and research system and organizational issues); and evidence-based hospital management processes (sub-themes: asking, acquiring, appraising, aggregating, applying and assessing). Originality/value Findings suggest that most participants have positive EBMgt attitudes. A full evidence-based hospital manager is a person who uses all evidence sources in a six-step decision-making process. EBMgt frameworks are a good tool to manage healthcare organizations. The authors found factors affecting hospital EBMgt and identified six evidence sources that healthcare managers can use in evidence-based decision-making processes.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is first to determine the competencies required of risk managers and second to consider the implications of such competencies in determining modules for inclusion in the curriculum framework of an undergraduate qualification in risk management. Design/methodology/approach A qualitative research approach was followed, involving risk management professionals in a focus group and making use of interactive qualitative analysis (IQA). Findings The competencies identified are managerial and risk management knowledge, attributes such as assertiveness and steadfastness and ethical values, as well as people and technical skills. These are explained in greater detail in this paper. Research limitations/implications The unique contribution of the current research was the innovative use of IQA for data collection, the removal of subjectivity and the rigour in analysing and presenting the results. The results provide a starting point for designing a curriculum that will both meet the requirements of the professional body and will equip graduates with the best possible combination of knowledge, attributes, values and skills needed by the risk management profession. The implications for further research include that a comparative IQA study of the competencies of risk managers using academics from the field could be undertaken, as well as a study of the design, benchmarking and validation of a proposed curriculum for an undergraduate degree in risk management. The purpose of this study was not to compile a curriculum for a new BCom (risk management). However, this was beyond the scope of the current study. IQA uses rigour and eliminates the bias of the researcher, and the one limitation of this research lies in the use of a focus group, which resulted in the findings not being generalizable as the case would have been with a representative sample used in the positivist paradigm and using appropriate statistical analysis. However, this study was exploratory and could serve as a valuable starting point for further research in this area to perform a comprehensive curriculum development. Practical implications This study found that constituents of the focus group perceived that the following competencies are required of risk managers, namely, knowledge, skills, attributes and values. These competencies correspond closely with the competencies indicated in the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Professional Core Competency Model, except that RIMS subdivides knowledge into three categories, namely, business, organisational and risk management knowledge. Similarly, RIMS distinguishes between management skills and technical skills. The attributes identified by the focus group of this study were similar to those identified by RIMS. However, the focus group emphasised values such as integrity, ethical conduct, respect and accountability. However, unlike RIMS, these were not perceived as one of the five core competencies, but rather as a stand-alone competency in its own right, which risk managers need to be successful. RIMS could consider reviewing its core competencies by allocating three closely related aspects, namely communication, collaboration and consultation to technical skills. Core competencies may be replaced by core values, which are literally at the centre of all the competencies required. Such core values are enhanced by the RIMS Code of Ethics (2019) and significantly contribute to the professionalization of risk management. RIMS could also consider providing guidelines to universities for those competencies that could be taught or learnt, to be included in their curricula and to accredit universities who meet such requirements. Social implications The findings of this study also serve as a starting point for the reintroduction of a BCom (risk management) degree by Unisa. Despite the requirements of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the Council for Higher Education (CHE), this study demonstrated that a specialised degree in risk management needs to be offered to meet the need expressed by IRMSA for professional risk managers in Southern Africa, and such a degree should ideally be curriculated based on the competencies identified in this article. The implication for public policy is that SAQA and the CHE need to reconsider their rigid stance about the composition of specialised qualifications, and rather set a range of 33-50% for subjects from the field of specialisation that must be included in the curricula of specialised degrees. As indicated by this research, a combination of subjects from different disciplines is required to enhance the competencies and employability of risk management graduates. Originality/value The use of IQA is a novel way of ensuring rigour and objectivity in arriving at the required knowledge, attributes, values and skills of risk managers, and aids in the compilation of a new curriculum for an undergraduate qualification in risk management, thus ensuring the qualification will provide a competency-based qualification that will meet the needs of the profession.

Abstract:
The paper presents outcomes of a research on psychological readiness for management in students (future managers). Psychological readiness for management is understood as one’s general predisposition towards administrating himself/herself and other people that is based on the system of relevant values. The extent of manifestation of the components of psychological readiness is considered as the basis of potential competitiveness in university graduates. Our empirical research involved students majoring in management (n = 98) aged 18-23 years. The study revealed that management values are highly significant for the respondents and that there are gender differences in value hierarchies. The components of psychological readiness for management were found to be related with indicators of life satisfaction, time perspective and basic values in the students. The outcomes if this research may be applied in higher education, management and career counselling in schools and universities.
