Abstract:

Dopo che si è dimostrato efficace nell’insegnamento dell’italiano come L1, negli ultimi anni il concetto di valenza si è affermato progressivamente anche nella didattica dell’italiano come lingua non materna. Il presente elaborato si pone in continuità con quegli studi che hanno evidenziato i vantaggi glottodidattici del modello per l’insegnamento dell’italiano agli stranieri. Il seguente articolo è diviso in due sezioni. Nella prima si riportano tre analisi della felice applicazione del modello valenziale in contesti L2, sia come strumento per l’insegnamento della grammatica, sia come concetto operativo per la risoluzione di problemi linguistici anche da parte di buoni conoscitori della lingua. Nella seconda si presenta studio di caso originale, che analizza il modo in cui il concetto di valenza del verbo viene impiegato nel corso di Estudios lingüísticos en lengua italiana 3 erogato dall’Universitat de València. In particolare, gli argomenti affrontati dal corso sono i ruoli semantici, i verbi transitivi, intransitivi, inaccusativi e la loro azionalità, la costruzione di frasi passive e impersonali e quella della frase complessa; questi sono esposti secondo l’ordine di presentazione del corso, ciascuno in un paragrafo dedicato. In conclusione vengono riassunte le conoscenze grammaticali e le abilità specifiche che l’uso della valenza verbale ha incrementato negli apprendenti. The concept of valence in the teaching of Italian FL. A case study After proving effective in teaching Italian as L1, in recent years the concept of valence has also progressively been established in teaching Italian as a foreign language. This paper is in continuity with those studies that have highlighted the linguistic advantages of the valential model to teach Italian to foreigners. The article is divided into two sections. The first one reviews three analyses of the successful application of the valential model in L2 contexts, both as a tool to teach grammar and as an operational concept to solve linguistic problems also for fluent foreign Italian speakers. The second part presents an original case study, which analyzes the way the concept of verbal valence is used in the course of Estudios lingüísticos en lengua italiana 3 held by Universitat de València. In particular, the topics covered by the course are semantic roles, transitive, intransitive, unaccusative verbs and their actionality, the construction of passive and impersonal sentences and of the complex phrase; these are explained in the order of presentation of the course, each in a dedicated paragraph. As a conclusion, the paper summarizes the grammatical notions and specific skills increased in learners by the use of verbal valence.

Abstract:

Il reimpiego del materiale di spoglio ha caratterizzato l’attività edilizia a partire dall’età tardoantica. Al fenomeno si è riconosciuto finora un significato prettamente ideologico, per noi limitativo, perché basato non di rado sulla esclusiva osservazione di contesti monumentali cristiani. In questo contributo ci siamo proposti di verificare, attraverso le testimonianze archeologiche di complessi monumentali ‘laici’, nel caso particolare di Efeso ed altri siti dell’Asia Minore, se sia corretto riconoscere alla base del reimpiego di spolia motivazioni di natura unicamente ideologica, ad esempio leggendo nell’uso di spolia una rivalutazione del passato pagano, eventualmente con reinterpretazione in chiave cristiana, o, al contrario, non vi siano stati motivi più concreti. Nel contesto di tale indagine la scelta di Efeso non è stata casuale. La ricca documentazione che il sito presenta consente, infatti, di poter analizzare il reimpiego sotto le sue molteplici sfaccettature. Infatti, le differenti modalità con le quali gli spolia furono reimpiegate, nel corso dell’intensa attività edilizia che caratterizzò la città per ben due secoli, dal IV al VI, hanno permesso di riconoscere non solo quanto limitativa sia la sola interpretazione ideologica del fenomeno, ma, soprattutto, di evidenziare, almeno per questa prima fase, un significato più funzionale, se vogliamo utilitaristico.

Riassunto: Il presente saggio si propone come una prima approssimazione allo studio dell’edizioneitaliana della Cronaca generale d’Hispagna et del regno di Valenza di Pere Antoni Beuter, pubblicatanel 1556 a Venezia da Gabriele Giolito de’ Ferrari nella traduzione dello spagnolo Alfonso deUlloa. Quest’opera storiografica si inserisce in un contesto culturale importantissimo come quellodella Venezia del Cinquecento, particolarmente effervescente nel campo dell’editoria con figure diprim’ordine come Giolito e Ulloa. Abstract:

This article demonstrates the usefulness of the notion of embeddedness to the historical study of Italian industrial districts of small firms and of local economic change more generally. The development of gold jewelry production in two Italian towns, Valenza Po and Arezzo, shows that vertical disintegration was enabled by the creation of networks of heterogeneous social relations. In both towns, social and political ties led to the creation of institutions of collective governance, which in turn produced a workable level of trust between economic actors. The production of trust, however, never ceased to be a contentious process, endowed with multiple and often contradictory meanings embedded in specific networks and contexts, ranging from collective projects of modernization in Valenza Po to the cementing of a secretive informal economy in Arezzo. The embeddedness approach to economic action is superior both to the communitarian arguments of much of the literature on the Italian industrial districts and to transaction-cost theories, which tend to view institutions in instrumental and functionalist ways.

Abstract:

Abstract The public library of Valenza, in the Italian region of Piedmont, holds two parchment fragments of Jacob van Maerlant’s Spiegel historiael which are used to protect other documents. The present paper is the first study dedicated to them. The leaves are first described separately, highlighting their shape as well as the text which has been handed down to us. Taking into account paleographical, ortho-graphical and linguistic aspects, the author tries to reconstruct the original manu-script from which both fragments derive, reaching the conclusion that it was writ-ten in the first quarter of the 14th century in the area of (South-)Eastern Flanders or Western Brabant. Furthermore, special attention is paid to the hypothesis that the fragments reached Piedmont because of the strong presence in the Low Countries of Italian money lenders, the so called ‘Lombards’, who came exactly from that re-gion. The complete edition of the Middle Dutch text, followed by notes, concludes the study.

Abstract:

Negli ultimi anni l’attenzione rivolta alla questione della sostenibilità ambientale, da parte sia delle aziende che dei consumatori, è cresciuta considerevolmente e ne sono state messe in evidenza molteplici sfaccettature: l’interesse verso scelte di consumo responsabili sarà sempre più presente e, di conseguenza, la stessa sensibilità del tessuto produttivo privato, nei confronti di questo argomento, diventa quasi una conditio sine qua non per poter continuare a operare nel mercato; essere sostenibili in toto risulta essere sempre più importante. Nello specifico, è stato progressivamente portato a conoscenza del largo pubblico il grave impatto che l’uso eccessivo e senza vie di mezzo dei packaging convenzionali sta avendo: nella packaging industry la necessità di intervento è prioritaria e quest’ultima sta conquistando terreno rapidamente nelle agende delle imprese, soprattutto in quelle delle aziende facenti parte del settore dei beni di largo consumo. Lo stesso avvento dell’e-commerce ha comportato un aumento esponenziale del quantitativo di imballi usati, tanto che anche i colossi dello shopping online hanno sottolineato, a più riprese, la necessità di instaurare un nuovo paradigma. Tutti gli attori del sistema economico sembrano aver compreso la serietà del problema: anche gli stessi consumatori. A conferma di ciò, si riporta a seguire un semplice esempio: secondo l’Osservatorio Immagino i fenomeni di consumo, che hanno evidenziato le maggiori crescite in Italia durante lo scorso anno, sono stati quelli legati alla comunicazione, da parte delle imprese, di confezioni più green. Gli eco-pack potrebbero, quindi, essere considerati un fattore chiave per gli acquisti nonché un ingrediente dei prodotti stessi. Quanto sin qui affermato si colloca in un contesto ben più ampio e in evoluzione, ossia quello della circular economy e della graduale transizione verso un’economia progettata per autorigenerarsi: si sta avviando un cambiamento sistemico volto all’implementazione di un approccio circolare sia a livello globale che a livello locale, sia nelle grandi imprese che nelle piccole aziende, sia a livello di organizzazione che a livello di singolo individuo. Le aziende più all’avanguardia nel settore del packaging possono essere incluse tra i pionieri della circular economy: ne rispettano e seguono i principi cardine. Da tali considerazioni nasce questo lavoro, il cui obiettivo è analizzare il tema del packaging green, sia lato industria e distribuzione che lato consumatore, nel contesto, sempre più attuale, dell’economia circolare e avvalorare il suo ruolo essenziale quale filo conduttore dei closed-loop packaging system: a tal fine, si è ritenuto necessario studiare l’argomento sia in via teorica e generale sia in modo più pratico e concreto, conducendo un’indagine esplorativa attraverso la somministrazione di un questionario autocompilato, volto a indagare la nuova consapevole attenzione dei singoli soggetti verso l’ecosostenibilità degli imballaggi. Nel primo capitolo si definisce in modo dettagliato il concetto di circular economy e se ne presentano i principi cardine e i framework che sanciscono la netta differenza tra questo modello e quello dell’economia lineare, esaminando anche quanto sta accadendo in Italia e quali sono gli ostacoli che stanno rallentando la transizione verso il nuovo paradigma. Il secondo capitolo entra nel vivo della questione, analizzando tutto ciò che riguarda i closed-loop packaging system dal punto di vista dell’industria e della distribuzione. Nel terzo capitolo la prospettiva si sposta e si focalizza l’attenzione sui consumatori e sui loro comportamenti in materia di eco-pack, presentando i concetti di green consumerism, green consumer ed environmentally-friendly behaviour. Nel quarto capitolo, infine, vengono presentati i risultati dell’indagine di cui sopra e si confrontano questi ultimi con quanto esposto in via teorica.

Abstract:

L’obiettivo di questa tesi è indagare le potenzialità dell'approccio storico/narrativo nell'affiancare la didattica tradizionale attraverso l’esempio della congettura di Poincaré. Le caratteristiche di questo problema consentono, inoltre, di indagare se sia possibile portare in classe argomenti di ricerca contemporanea. Questo avrebbe la valenza di comunicare la vitalità della matematica, costantemente in sviluppo come tutte le altre scienze, per contrasto con quella che è l'immagine pregiudiziale della società, che la vede come una disciplina statica e immobile nel tempo, e come tale poco stimolante. Discuterò la grandiosità di questo teorema e le immediate vicende succedute alla sua dimostrazione. Poi, le peculiarità dei principali protagonisti della sua storia: Poincaré e Perel'man. In seguito, nel secondo capitolo, tratterò una sintetica dimostrazione del teorema ripercorrendone le tappe fondamentali. Mi preme sottolineare che questa trattazione non ambisce in alcun modo ad essere dettagliata ed esaustiva dal punto di vista tecnico/matematico. Tuttavia, mi è parso doveroso fare un resoconto di quelle che sono le tappe principali attraverso le quali si è passati dall'enunciato topologico della congettura alla sua dimostrazione. Il terzo capitolo espone il quadro teorico della comunicazione e della didattica della matematica: descriverò le basi della comunicazione della scienza e quali sono i fondamenti della didattica. Attraverso l'analisi del triangolo di Chevallard, approfondirò le relazioni tra Sapere, Insegnante e Allievo. In particolare, porrò l'attenzione su un particolare tipo di approccio: l'approccio storico/narrativo. Nell'ultimo capitolo, invece, cercherò di coniugare tutti questi aspetti: ho creato un questionario da proporre ai professori di scuola secondaria, al fine di indagare le potenzialità della modalità con cui questo argomento è stato presentato: lo "Storytelling”. Come conclusione esporrò i risultati di questo questionario.

Abstract:

La metafora è una figura del linguaggio che consiste nel descrivere un oggetto mediante le caratteristiche di un secondo oggetto sostanzialmente differente. Aristotele ne da una definizione precisa nella sua Poetica: «Metafora è l’imposizione di una parola estranea, o da genere a specie, o da specie a genere, o da specie a specie o per analogia». . Paul Ricoeur, nel primo degli otto studi contenuti nel suo lavoro intitolato La metafora viva e pubblicato nel 1975, vede in questa definizione aristotelica il nucleo della concezione occidentale della metafora: un gioco linguistico che si situa a livello della parola. Per Ricoeur, questa lettura limita la potenza della metafora e ne segna il declino che la porta ad essere considerata come una denominazione deviante, un utilizzo di termini impropri che si allontana dalla verità oggettiva, poiché fondata sull’inesattezza. La metafora, nel senso comune, è infatti intesa come una figura retorica, particolarmente utilizzata in ambito poetico e letterario, che ha quindi una funzione quasi esclusivamente esornativa. Lakoff e Johnson, nel loro lavoro, pubblicato nel 1980 e intitolato Metafora e vita quotidiana, propongono una teoria della metafora in netta contrapposizione con la concezione comune. A loro avviso, la metafora sta alla base del sistema cognitivo umano; è un elemento fondamentale, anche se non l’unico, del nostro modo di organizzare i concetti e la conoscenza, oltre che di esprimerci e agire. Secondo i nostri autori, la metafora è uno strumento parziale capace di esprimere verità, anch’esse parziali, e comprensibili in relazione alle categorie utilizzate dal soggetto che pensa, si esprime e agisce metaforicamente. La tesi intende indagare criticamente quest'ultima asserzione, avvalendosi dei contributi di alcuni autori tra cui, il già citato Ricoeur, Max Black, Hans Blumenberg e Virgilio Melchiorre.

Il cibo non è più solo un bene in grado di soddisfare un bisogno, ma svolge il ruolo di aggregatore sociale: fa stringere relazioni e promuove la loro crescita laddove non sussistono ancora. L'elaborato indaga come sono cambiati i comportamenti e le tradizioni tra gli esseri umani, mediante un'analisi del consumo alimentare in Italia dal medioevo ai giorni nostri, e come emergono oggi sempre più nuove e seguite tendenze. La tesi approfondisce inoltre due trend in forte ascesa, la sostenibilità alimentare e l’esperienzialità, tematiche che negli ultimi anni hanno dato il via a nuove realtà e concezioni di sviluppo. Infine, all’interno dell’elaborato, si propone una ricerca esplorativa data dal confronto tra manager del settore e popolazione, per riuscire a comprendere ancora meglio il ruolo che svolge il cibo oggi.

Abstract:

This thesis is an exploration of the effects that an Italian city and internationally known industrial district, Valenza, experienced during the downturn of its principal economy, jewellery production, between 2008 and 2010. The thesis asks how the relationship between a community and a form of economy is perceived, established and performed, and how a downturn can reverberate throughout this web of meanings and practices. In so doing, it contributes to the anthropological debates on Italy, flexible industrialisation and economic crises, and explores themes of disciplinary interest such as public rhetoric, emplacement, industry, crafts, unemployment, and precarisation. In the first part of the thesis I show how the connections between Valenza and its jewellery industry appear through the widespread identity rhetoric (Chapter 1), the deep penetration of jewellery production into the urban fabric (Chapter 2), as well as in the goldsmiths’ way of understanding production, ‘artigianalità’ and entrepreneurship (Chapters 3 and 4). In the second part of the work, I show that the downturn led to a rise in unemployment and a worsening of work and economic conditions for individuals and firms that undermined the basis of the participation of the community in the business. On the one hand, the loss of their jobs obliged (ex-) goldsmiths to re-think and re-shape their world, by abandoning the practices, spaces and social networks associated with their previous work (Chapter 6). On the other hand, the worsening of economic conditions led to a disaggregation of the network of firms and a ruination of the industrial landscape forcing goldsmiths to question their economic model and its future (Chapter 7). More broadly, the downturn became an object of the discourse of the city and an object of knowledge of its community that led to challenge the identity rhetoric and start discussing futures of a city without gold (Chapter 8).

Abstract:

In this research activity, alternative ingredients such as wheat germ and quinoa, have been studied in order to develop innovative foods. Their chemical, nutritional and technological characteristics have been evaluated. Results showed that quinoa and wheat germ contain remarkable amounts of some nutrients (protein, fat and dietary fiber) and bioactive compounds (amino acids, essential fatty acids, tocols, polyphenols), which are useful for developing new value added products. Viewing the importance of these raw materials, innovative cereal foods (bread, pasta, biscuits) were produced which able to meet consumers requirements and, at the same time, to have enhanced nutritional value compared to traditional products. Since quinoa seeds are rich in saponins, dehulling/pearling process of quinoa achenes removed around 70% of saponins, providing flours with high sensory acceptability. Wheat germ extracts exhibited a marked antimicrobial activity because of their polyphenolic components. Thus, it can be used for developing of fresh pasta with anhanced bioactive compounds and prolonged shelf life by inhibition of degradative microorganisms.<br>Le attività sperimentali sono state focalizzate su due diverse linee di ricerca, nell’ambito delle quali sono stati caratterizzati dal punto di vista chimico, nutrizionale e tecnologico ingredienti alternativi, quali il germe di grano e la quinoa, per la preparazione di prodotti alimentari innovativi. Dalla caratterizzazione chimico-nutrizionale è emerso che il germe e la quinoa contengono quantità significative di nutrienti (proteine, grassi e fibra alimentare) e componenti bioattive (amminoacidi, acidi grassi essenziali, tocoli, polifenoli), le cui proprietà possono essere sfruttate nella produzione di alimenti con elevata valenza dietetico-nutrizionale. Dal punto di vista tecnologico, è stata avvalorata l’ipotesi di integrare nelle formulazioni di prodotti tradizionali quali pane, pasta e biscotti, sia il germe che la quinoa con la possibilità di produrre alimenti con caratteristiche nutrizionali ed organolettiche che rispondano ai requisiti di commercializzazione e di qualità richiesti dal mercato e che allo stesso tempo abbiano un valore aggiunto rispetto a quelli già presenti in commercio. La tecnica di decorticazione/perlatura, testata sugli acheni di quinoa, si è rivelata idonea per l’allontanamento di più del 70% delle saponine presenti sulla superficie della quinoa, con la conseguenza di poter ottenere, dagli acheni perlati, uno sfarinato con caratteristiche chimico-nutrizionali idonee per la produzione di alimenti accettabili anche dal punto di vista sensoriale. La componente fenolica di estratti di germe di grano ha mostrato una notevole attività inibitoria nei confronti di diversi ceppi microbici avvalorando l’ipotesi di poter integrare il germe di grano nelle formulazioni di pasta fresca al fine di incrementarne non solo la componente bioattiva a valenza funzionale ma anche per allungarne la shelf life attraverso l’inibizione di microrganismi alteranti.

La tecnica di ultrafiltrazione del latte e del siero di latte è stata utilizzata come strumento tecnologico per ottenere prodotti caseari freschi low-fat e caratterizzati da potenziali effetti benefici per la salute. La tecnica di ultrafiltrazione applicata al latte o al siero magro permette infatti di incrementare e/o standardizzare il contenuto di proteine di questi prodotti. Il latte o il siero concentrato possono così essere utilizzati in combinazione con altre frazioni del latte (come la crema), e/o con ingredienti funzionali, al fine di ottenere prodotti estremamente interessanti da un punto di vista tecnologico e nutrizionale. Nel corso della prima parte sperimentale di questa tesi, viene riportato, in maniera dettagliata, l‘effetto della concentrazione del latte (vaccino) sulle proprietà reologiche e chimiche di gels a coagulazione acido-presamica, con lo scopo di migliorare la comprensione dei fenomeni che avvengono durante la produzione dei formaggi freschi tipo-quark. Una seconda parte sperimentale è dedicata allo studio degli effetti dell‘utilizzo di un ingrediente funzionale quale l‘inulina (fibra dietetica a carattere prebiotico), utilizzata in sostituzione al grasso, su alcune proprietà reologiche, microstrutturali e sensoriali di formaggi caprini freschi ottenuti a partire da latte concentrato per ultrafiltrazione. Infine la terza parte sperimentale è finalizzata allo studio del comportamento del siero ovino concentrato per ultrafiltrazione, nelle condizioni di produzione tradizionali della ricotta, con particolare riguardo alla valutazione della composizione del prodotto, in particolare proteica, e della sua resa di trasformazione. ------------ Milk and whey ultrafiltration is widely used in the dairy industry to standardize or increase the protein content of these products. This technology permits the utilization of concentrated milk and whey for cheese and ricotta cheese production. Concentrated milk or whey can be used in combination with other milk fractions as cream or functional ingredients, to obtain very interesting products from a technological and nutritional point of view. In the first part of the thesis, the effect of concentration of milk by ultrafiltration on the rheological and chemical properties of combined cultured and rennet milk gels was studied with a number of complementary techniques, with the aim to improve understanding of the details occurring during the making of fresh cheese varieties (quark-type cheeses). Another experimental part of this work is based on the study of the effects of the utilization of inulin as fat-replacer on some rheological, microstructural and sensory properties of goat fresh cheeses obtained from milk concentrated by ultrafiltration. The last part of the thesis reports the study of the behaviour of concentrated ovine whey by ultrafiltration in the making of ricotta cheese, with the aim to investigate about the influence of whey proteins concentration on ovine Ricotta cheese yield.

Lo scopo è quello di individuare una traccia che consenta una sintesi razionalizzante rispetto ai quesiti che riguardano la dimensione che l’atto amministrativo può/deve assumere all’interno della sfera della cognizione penale. Questione che pare debba portare al superamento della logica della soluzione “caso per caso”.<br>This research is focused on the study of the “interferences” in criminal trial due to the incidental judicial review – by the same criminal judges – on the legitimacy of administrative acts. The cognition of the judge in criminal trial can’t be imagined as an island, estranged by the rules that bind the public administration and subjected only to principles and provisions of the penal law. The purpose of the thesis is to comprehend in which terms the illegitimacy of the administrative act can be questioned in criminal proceedings, trying to find into the categories of administrative law a path to resolve the questions about the role of the administrative acts in criminal investigation and trial.

Abstract:

Recent recognition of increased anthropogenic demands and influence on marine resources and ecosystem has led to a strong push for “active” marine conservation (Hockey e Branch, 1997; Lubchenco, 1997). The value of marine protected areas, particularly no‐take marine reserves, and the fundamental importance of understanding marine environments is now jointly recognized by politicians, conservation and management scientists and commercial fishermen. In this context are framed he remarkable results achieved by the establishment of restocking areas (no‐take areas), established in the seas surrounding Sardinia and aimed at improving the state of a resource of high commercial value such as the spiny lobster Palinurus elephas. Despite the fact that Sardinia, along the eastern part of Sicily, has always been one of the Italian regions with the highest productivity of lobster (data IREPA, 2007), in recent years the international community had become increasingly aware that the current management regulations were not longer sufficient to ensure a rational exploitation of the resource. The worrying picture of the state of the resource has therefore made necessary the search for innovative management policies, through the adoption of new management measures, that would lead to the increase of the stock. In this perspective the Ministry of Agriculture before and after the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, in collaboration with the University of Cagliari, have implemented several measures to protect the resource, including in 1998 the establishment of an area of restocking in the central‐western Sardinia. The restocking action of the reserve Pallosu, that now has lasted 14 years (1998‐2011), led to an increase in biomass of the species by 550% compared to 1997, the year before the establishment of the protection. Important results are also the effects recorded in the commercial areas of fishing surrounding the no‐take area in which, as a result of a continuous spillover of specimens (Follesa et al., 2007a,2011), an increase in productivity of the lobster up to a distance of about 6 km from the center of restocking has been highlighted, with the record of signs of this effect up to an area of about 20 km away. The validity of the research undertaken through the activation of restocking areas is actually witnessed not only by management results but also by the possibility of enhancing of knowledge of the lobster biology, that it proved to be useful in the management of the resource itself. For example, collecting a large amount of data during the breeding season has revealed that the size of the maximum reproductive potential, for Sardinian lobsters, is reached at 75‐85 mm LCS, well below the minimum capture imposed since 2006 by the same European Economic Community (LCS = 90 mm). This appeared a remarkably important result which confirmed the validity of the rules of governance currently imposed in the management of the lobster fishing. The minimum legal size (MTL), in our case, being well in excess of 15 mm compared to the size of the maximum reproductive potential (75 mm LCS), would enable females to have the opportunity to reproduce more than once before reaching the legal size. Protection of the youngest not only through an imposition of a minimum size of capture (MTL) but also of large specimens through the establishment of additional areas of protection and/ or re‐stocking and the introduction of controls on landing would be desirable for a more and better management of the resource. A careful enforcement of the management together with the support of the action exerted by the major areas of active recovery could undoubtedly improve the management of this important species of great commercial importance in the Mediterranean Sea. It is still to be emphasized that these results are important both from a management and scientific perspective, they would not have been achieved without the full cooperation of fishermen which believed in this experimentation. We hope that initiatives like the ones of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia that, in consequence of the positive results achieved in Su Pallosu, has activated in 2009 other 14 restocking areas, can be multiplied in many other Mediterranean areas. Given the positive result, it is thought that such experiments, together with the management rules currently in force, can contribute to better regulation of the resource in the entire basin.

Il processo di urbanizzazione è un fenomeno che, negli ultimi decenni, ha registrato notevoli cambiamenti, i quali hanno avuto delle ripercussioni sulla distribuzione della popolazione mondiale tra aree urbane e rurali. L’aumento di popolazione nei centri urbani sta già creando problemi relativi alla produzione e allo smaltimento dei rifiuti e alla disponibilità e qualità della risorsa idrica, come anche problemi di sicurezza sanitaria nelle periferie che continuano ad espandersi in assenza di infrastrutture e servizi. In relazione a ciò, il modello di sviluppo urbano sostenibile assume una valenza strategica in termini sociali, economici ed ambientali. Il turismo può, infatti, contribuire ad aumentare la vitalità economica delle città e a rafforzare il senso di identità urbana. Il turismo sostenibile contribuisce, inoltre, a mantenere l'integrità ambientale e culturale delle comunità, a conservare il patrimonio naturale e le zone ecologicamente sensibili. In questa Sessione dedicata al turismo è stata avviata una riflessione su ciò che il turismo può e deve fare per la sostenibilità del territorio, in maniera particolare di quello urbano. Diventa fondamentale comprendere in che modo il turismo può essere un elemento che può dare un contributo significativo allo sviluppo e all’innovazione sostenibile urbana, dato il suo impatto trasversale sulla società e le sue molteplici sfaccettature ambientali, economiche, sociali, culturali. In conclusione, sulla base degli spunti emersi è lecito affermare che il turismo rappresenti una opportunità di trasformazione delle città e dei territori circostanti, modificando gli equilibri sociali e culturali, economici e urbanistici, riuscendo persino a cambiare il modo di intendere e di vivere le città.

Representing fortified architecture to narrate and enhance the Alexandrian territory borderThe Piemonte cultural territory is also characterized by the significant presence of complex defensive systems, grouped by types and orographic configuration. Specifically,this paper will address asystematic and unitary re-reading of the territory of the Alessandria area, which includes: the sixteenth-century Cittadella di Casale, of the Gonzagas; the Citadel of Alexandria (1732), by Giulio Ignazio Bertola; Valenza and its fortifications (from the “Spanish” period with interventions by Gaspare Beretta, also interested in the fort / Castello Tortona); that of Gavi (restored “in the modern” by Gaspare Maculano known as Fiorenzuola, the friar who condemned Galileo). Following thirty years international research, the objectives of the work are twofold: the first aims to physically connect in this system a “network” of thematically dedicated tourist itineraries, through documentary paths that reconstruct historical events, construction phases and transformation, (in similitude with the ECCOFORT project, in the province of Verona). Following other works, by the authors already dedicated to the Alexandrian, through the advanced 3D modeling (like the one carried out in the reconstruction of the fort of Gavi) the second objective of the present contribution will follow the same restoring and reconstructive procedure. Through digitalized anastylosis, even dynamized, the Castle of Tortona will be rebuilt on the basis –among other things– of the conspicuous documentation (dated 1799, the year of the Napoleonic siege, followed by demolition, in 1801) found at the Osterreichisches Staatsarchiv, Kriegsarchiv of Vienna. The critical reconstruction is now made possible thanks to the precious wealth of knowledge, matured over the decades by Marotta, Zerlenga, Abello: with (indexed) data, including metrics, graphics and visual returns. Drawing between real and virtual, it will be possible to reconnect individual episodes, comparable and critically selected information, by means of congruently connected interventions, both physically and digitally. Finally, in a project of knowledge, conservation and valorisation, the “local” dimension dialogues and integrates with the European dimension.

The building, answering to the specific conditions of an urban scene that acts as a partition between the compact city and the dispersed city, solving a specific functional program from 3 combined architectural elements; concrete planes, white clinker volumes and courtyards.
